Introduction
.
We’re a fabulous creation with incredible mechanics holding us together.
Our bodies and minds are by far the most complex on this Earth.
Opposable thumbs, the ability to think, we have it all.
But what if I told you that wasn’t true?
What if I told you
that you’ve been living
an absolute lie?
They’re called Embers
Their title came from their bright, colorful eyes.
They have reflexes faster than ever seen before.
Their senses are more sensitive, more powerful, more receptive.
And what if I told you that they came from you?
What if I told you
they are human
just like you?
Seventy years ago on December 21, 2012, the human race thought the world was going to end. But it didn’t – it began. People began to show signs of super-human capabilities: picking up extreme amounts of weight, running at startling speeds, sensing things from a far distance. At first the world was in shock – these people had to be a new evolution of humans, they thought.
But they were wrong.
These people were just as human as anyone else. So why, you ask, are they so extreme? Scientists had begun to discover during the beginning of the twenty-first century that the human race was holding back incredible strengths. The human body essentially only uses a small portion of its actual strength and only uses its full strength when in a life-or-death situation. However, calling upon this strength can leave the body in shambles, making the person’s muscles and other parts permanently or temporarily damaged. The Embers are people who have their full strength whenever they need to without hurting their physical forms.
Sixty years ago, a center was created in NYC for the Embers. In this facility they were trained to use their skills to their full potential while also being pampered in extreme wealth and luxury. Each Ember has enhanced bodily senses and strengths, but they all have one in particular that is their strongest; this can be strength, speed, hearing, eye-sight, empathy.
Fifty years ago, technology became a thing of wonders. Buildings began to float seven feet above the ground, cars could fly, skate-boards can hover. People began to grow more beautiful – and sadly at the same time, more stupid. Their lives revolved around parties, alcohol, and anything that brought about pleasure. Birth rates increased and mortality rates decreased, creating overpopulated cities and underpopulated grave-yards.
Forty years ago, World War III began. With advanced technology, the world immediately found themselves equally as strong – and that was when the US government (now secretly a dictatorship under Michael D. Scott II) decided to use the Embers in their battles. Every month, five Embers were chosen to go to war, though the Embers themselves never knew where they’d be going. It was explained to them that being chosen was a privilege, an honor, and they believed it.
Thirty years ago, the number of Embers has decreased. As the world discovered sixty years ago, to produce a full Ember, you must have two Embers – the offspring of an Ember and a human was called a Spark, a person who could use their full strengths but dies at around twenty-five as a side-effect. And so began the creation of X-Embers, people born in a lab after the extraction of egg and sperm from Embers sent to war. X-Embers are by far the strongest of all Embers and have two particularly strong abilities, but they suffer from insomnia, migraines, nightmares, and have shown a pattern of going crazy by age twenty-one. Ability wise, they excel in one of the normal abilities while also having preception, an ability which allows the X-Ember’s mind to work at incredible speeds, making them so intelligent that they can even predict someone’s move before it happens.
It is now the year 2082 and WWIII still continues to scar the earth. The Spark, a resistance of human and spark alike, has risen up to be a threat to the US government; their aim is to stop the war and overthrow the secret dictator Luther D. Scott. The resistance has successfully infiltrated the Ember Facility in order to find Embers they believe could potentially help them stop the war.
But remember…
Nothing is ever as it seems.
You can’t trust anyone in this world;
Not even the ones you love.

EMBERS look like people used to in 2012 – basically normal humans, aside from the exotic eye color.
X-EMBERS are beautiful like the humans in the current year, aside from heterochromatic, exotic eye color.
SPARKS are a mixture of beautiful and normal and have normal colored eyes.
HUMANS are all gorgeous and are generally fairly stupid, though the ones we will be roleplaying as have a fairly normal IQ.

You may reserve characters, but the position will only be held open for 48 hours.
Romance, violence, and profanity is allowed.
As for the romance, I don't care how far you go, but if by chance the clothes come off, go to PM and/or fade out.
PLEASE feel free to contribute to the plot, but you must pass ideas my way first.
If you have some sort of secret thing about your character, pass it by me so I can make sure it's fine.
No supermen.
This is a LITERATE roleplay. Spelling and grammar should be presentable.
Roleplayers are expected to post at least once every two days.
If you aren't going to commit, don't bother submitting a character.
Submission of a character means you give me permission to look into your background.
Any changes I see fit to your character will be made. If you see my request harsh, feel free to try to come to an agreement with me.
