Description

"Faith can move mountains."
- Now You See Me

Full Name
Kathryn Zenta.

Age|
Seventeen years young.

Region|
The Badlands.

Physical Description|
Kitty has always been fragile, even when she was a baby. She was too thin, too sickly. In the Badlands it's hard to get food and fresh water, so growing up there was no walk in the park. Luckily, Kitty's older sister, Ralie was there to protect her and take care of her. Ralie made sure Kitty got enough to eat, and drink. The doctors said Kitty would never live past the age of five... but she did. She grew into a scrawny teenager, with bony limbs and a pale complexion. Kitty took after her father more than her sister did, and grew into a long dark chocolate mane of hair. Her eyes take after their grandmother, a soft hazel green. Like her older sister, Kitty has a triangular face, and soft jaw line with a sharp chin. Kitty doesn't weigh more than 115 pounds as a side effect of her early health problems. When she was younger she was prone to catching colds quickly, but now that she is older her immune system is fairly strong. [For more, see the Photo Gallery.]

Personality
Kitty is a lighthearted girl, despite growing up in darkness and fear. She is incredibly curious about everything, which earned her the nickname Kitty when she was younger. You could say she is the sun where her sister is the moon. Kitty is a people person and loves making new friends and meeting new people. This makes her either naive or stupid, given the world she's growing up in. Her sister is very protective over her, but that only makes Kitty want to branch out more. She yearns to try new things and see new places. Because she has never known a life that was not running, she doesn't seem a problem with the way she and her sister live, but she does wish they could find a place of their own to settle down and stop running... a place where she could make some true, lasting friendships. Above everything else, Kitty is kind. Her kindness has gotten them into worlds of trouble before, because Kitty wears her heart on her sleeve and trusts too easily. The number one person in Kitty's life is her sister, and she strives to make her proud.

Quirks|
~ She plays with her hair when she is nervous, or thinking.
~ Bites her lip when embarrassed (like her sister)
~ Cracks her knuckles when she's bored or frustrated

Likes Dislikes
Her sister Letting her sister down
Writing Being lied to
Learning new things Being treated like a child
Climbing Having to run all the time
Her companion Not knowing who to trust

Relationship with Companion|
Kitty grew up with Ralie taking care of her. For as long as she could remember, they'd been running. The Badlands were rough, but having to leave was worse, because it meant they would never again have somewhere to lay down and call theirs at night. Kitty remembers watching Ralie take off for the fights when she was 12, but Kitty has always been too sick to fight. When Kitty turned thirteen, Ralie told her that it was time she learned to defend herself. The lessons started as writing, mathematics and reading, and melted into fighting and archery. Kitty blames herself for being what she is, and feels bad that her sister has taken it upon herself to dedicate her life to protecting her. "Blood is thicker than water," they say.

Talents|
1. Kitty has learned archery from her sister, though to be honest she is not even half as good at it. She's no good with a sword either, due to her weak arms.

2. She has also developed the gift of Psychometry. Also known as "object reading". It enables her to pick up on psychic impressions (vibrations) left on an object by someone connected with it. She could use an unfamiliar object to reveal secrets about its owner. Kitty is young, though, so she does not yet have control over her developing talent. Sometimes when she is trying to use it; nothing happens. Other times, she could brush against something with her finger tips and get a jolt of information.

3. Due to spending the majority of her life sickly, Kitty has developed a large amount of health knowledge and can bandage, heal, and cure most ailments. (She learned by either personal expierence, or by reading the medical journals she finds on their journeys)

4. Obviously, she is a Warg, and she can see through the eyes of her companion, essentially becoming the animal. Able to control it's movements as if they were her own. While in this state of being, she is unable to move, hear, or see anything happening around her own body.

5. Kitty has taught herself to speak French, and is teaching her sister so that they can talk to one another without other people understanding them. (All thanks to a French dictionary that she found along the road one day, and a week camping with an elderly woman who spoke fluent French.)

6. Newly acquired Healing Touch ability.

Ralie

"I would like for you to stay," she said finally, to Kane, and then she turned to Rhys, "both of you." She turned her hues to Blue who sat at her heels, and then Ralie. "Safety in numbers, right?

Ralie smiled to herself. She knew that Kitty would want them to stay. She had lived her entire life a lone Warg, a feeling the Ralie couldn't even imagine. Knowing that there were more people like you in the world, but never having the chance to meet them, or even assuming that most of them are dead. She was lucky, being human, her kind weren't outlawed by a government that didn't understand the Wargs. Sure, there were a few that were bad, using their powers for their own benefit or for the destruction of others, but humans did that too. Their biggest mistake was to sentence an entire race of people to death, simply because they were different.

Kitty turned to her, "If that's okay with you, Ralie," she added shyly, seeking her approval, and Ralie considered the possibility of these men joining them.

They could become apart of their travelling group, but that wouldn't keep her from sleeping with a knife in hand. They had ceased their attack on the girls, but that didn't change the fact that Kane had run down her sister and the other had paralyzed her (albeit temporarily) and made her bleed. And though she wasn't keen to admit it, where she beat Rhys out in speed, he was stronger than her, and proved an incredibly worthy opponent, and both men were soundless and sly in their approach. She would hope that they would have more respect for themselves and attempt a fair fight if they tried to kill Kitty and herself, but no one was really above stabbing another person in the back, literally and figuratively, especially if the ultimate cost was survival or death.

Kane handed her sister the bag of their medical supplies, and it took almost all of her will power to not smack it out of Kitty's hands. She had literally just seen both of them use the supplies, neither of them appeared to be acting poisoned. Besides, it would just be overly paranoid to believe that they would poison medical supplies.

"Here. It's the least I can do. I agree though, it would be safer with the four of us. Besides we I think we need to make it up to you somehow. You were heading west right?"

She smiled at her sister and finally answered, "Sounds good to me. Seems like these two might be a help..." she agreed with Kitty, "If they don't try to kill us. " She emphasized the word "try" and turned a dead-pan gaze onto the two men, hoping to make them uncomfortable, before answering Kane's question. "Yes, we're heading west."

That was it, it was done. Their pair became a group and she swallowed her pride. But there was something about them joining their group that made her feel hollow. She was totally and completely the odd man out. Her only skills being that of tracking and hunting, both things she assumed the men were better at, simply because of their animal companions and maybe even their hidden skill. She studied them a little bit closer, and realized that neither of them carried a bow. She smiled to herself. At least she had that above them, then her eyes fell on the bird... okay, maybe the bird could best her at long distance killing as well. Her smile fell and she cracked her neck, uncomfortable. But, Kitty would have her own kind around her, people to learn from. That was good... more than good, actually it was fantastic. As long as her sister was happy, that was all that really mattered to her. That Kitty was happy and safe. So what if it meant some sleepless nights for her, she would get over it.

Rhys

The excitement of the day had caught up with him, and he felt as though he had run into a wall of exhaustion. It had to be due to the blood loss, he didn't even need his power to tell him that, but standing was suddenly becoming a burden. While the other three continued their conversation, he sat down on the ground, leaning into Jester. He picked a twig of the ground and began to chew on it. His nail beds were already bleeding from the number he did on them earlier when he was waiting for Kane to return, he decided he would deal with the probability of splinters to give his hands a break.

Jester suddenly laid down, causing Rhys to fall with him. It jolted his wound and he bit back a scream. He knew that he didn't even have to say anything at that point to confirm Kane's statement. There was no way he would be able to travel like this. He would need at least a day's recovery, but he could probably just get over it with a good night's rest. It wouldn't be the first time he went against his own medical knowledge, just to keep moving.

Laying on the ground, using Jester as a pillow, it hit him, and a grin lit his face. He and Kane weren't alone anymore. These two girls were now apart of their travelling group, and one of them was another Warg. He had met Ralie's dead pan stare earlier, still smiling and decided that he liked Kitty more than her. At least Kitty was nice... and forgiving. And while he didn't appreciate Ralie's attitude, he understood her mistrust. They did attack them after all, but he didn't kill her. He very easily could have, but he didn't, and Kane didn't kill Kitty, and in Rhys's mind that stood for something. Maybe not a lot, but something.

Even though he did like Kitty more, he still had feeling for her older sister. Respect. In truth, it was almost at the level of a respect that he held for Kane. She was human, and yet she left her home (although the Badlands weren't a paradise it was still her home), and went through daily danger for Kitty. He wished that his family had been more like that, but it was a familial relationship bound by blood but cemented through overcoming adversity. That was more than respectable.

"This should be interesting," he muttered, with a smile on his face, spitting out a stray shard of wood.

"This should be interesting," Kitty heard Rhys say. Well, he was certainly right about that. Goodness knew how much trouble this could cause her in the long run, but right now she was just happy that her sister was safe, and she now had not one; but two people like her around. "So, uh... Anyone hungry? Ralie caught a huge deer not too long ago.. we have plenty left over," she offered, moving to sit beside Ralie. She glanced to the kit, full of medical supplies, that Kane had handed to her. Kitty looked over to him, smiling with a slight blush. 'Thank you,' she mouthed, smiling as she ruffled through the bag to find the medical ointment she needed for her legs and arms.

Meanwhile, Blue was army-crawling over towards Jester. Fascinated by his canine appearance, but so different from any dog Blue had ever seen. He crept up on the creature slowly, playfully wagging his tail with his ears perked up with interest. Could this be a new playmate? Blue settled down on the ground beside Jester as he laid down, tail still wagging as he observed the larger canine creature. He had never met a hyena before.

Kitty had just finished wrapping up her bandage on her arm when she used her teeth to tug the knot closed. She smiled over at Blue as he crept up to the other animal, obviously curious. "That's Blue," she said to Rhys, who appeared to have tumbled over a moment ago. We've never seen a real hyena before." She looked over to her sister with a smile, wondering how many more things they would get to see if they kept these two around. Then, she remembered that Ralie had confirmed that they were heading West. "Do you think it's true what they say? That there really is a safe haven for all Wargs?" The question was directed at everyone, as she glanced from tired face to tired face. It was something she had been wondering about herself for a while. It just sounded too good to be true.

"It just sounds too good to be true, but then again... just a couple of hours ago I was sure I was the last Warg alive.. So I guess miracles can still happen." She glanced to Via as she finished her sentence, smiling at the beautiful creature. Surely there had to be hope for them. A safe place. A garden of Eden, just for them. Surely not everyone in the world hated them.

Rhys

"We've never seen a real hyena before."

Rhys smiled in Kitty's direction, "Aw, he's nothing special." Jester turned to him, giving him a skeptical look... well, as much of a skeptical look that a hyena could give, before Jester burst into his squeaky laughs, that could really only be described as manic giggles. Rhys joined in, rubbing Jester's head. Truth be told, he had never seen a hyena before Jester, either. It was honestly his favorite memory. His dream had started with the sensation of being suspended in water. He had floated over the plains until his body plummeted towards a hyena pup. With a jolt he became one with the animal. Rhys had felt the grass beneath the animal’s paws, and had even joined in it’s curiosity of the world around it, and experienced the trust between the pup and it’s mother. In the hyena’s body he had followed the mother to a not-so-freshly killed gazelle. Fly’s buzzed around the half-eaten body, also enjoying the now rotting flesh. The mother hyena had nosed the pup towards the kill. The pup dove in greedily gorging itself on the gazelle. Rhys had tasted every morsel, and through the pup’s eyes he actually enjoyed it. Then there had been a gunshot, and the hyena’s fear jolted him awake.

It was then he knew what he was, and he knew what Jester would become to him. He had left his home, and simply ran, his body and mind told him where to go. He finally found the pup and his mother hiding in a hole at the base of a tree. He had crouched, approaching slowly, trying not to startle them, thinking he would have to earn their trust or something. Turns out his assumption was wrong, and the pup trotted happily over to him, and the mother, aware her son was in good hands, left him with Rhys.

His mind returned to the present as he watched Blue observe Jester. The hyena simply stared back at the little wolf pup, Jester pulled his lips from his teeth in a smile and giggled some more. Looking over, he chuckled and shook his head at Kitty's wide eyed amazement, but looking over at Ralie, he saw that even Jester's laughter reached out to those made of stone.

"Do you think it's true what they say? That there really is a safe haven for all Wargs?" Kitty was talking again, and he turned his attention back to her. He smirked, spitting more chewed up twig on the ground and shrugged.

"In my opinion, it's probably a trap, but it's worth a look see. Besides, we're obviously not the only Wargs going. If it is a trap, the Hunter's are probably going to get a lot more than they can handle."

"It just sounds too good to be true, but then again... just a couple of hours ago I was sure I was the last Warg alive.. So I guess miracles can still happen."

He was confused, and then realized that not every one had the ability to look at something and learn every minuscule detail about it. He knew there were more Wargs, simply observing the ground had told him as much. It whispered to him. Sure he was able to close off his mind, but he let the earth sing to him sometimes, especially when he felt lonely, or was trying to sleep. He didn't really bother to respond to her, it seemed she was talking more to herself than him. Realizing the twig he was chewing on was nearly demolished he walked to his bag, and pulled out his pipe and some tabacco.

"I'm off to have a smoke," he tapped his leg, motioning for Jester to follow him. He walked a ways out, trying to get at a distance he felt Kane would be able to handle. Besides, he didn't know how the girls would feel about it, and he didn't care to find out Ralie's most likely vile-worded opinion. He just kind of wanted to listen to things that couldn't speak, he wanted to hear the whispers. It was a strange thing, to miss something that nearly drove him mad, but there was comfort in it, knowledge. So those moments where he craved it, he found a place he could listen and learn.

Ralie

Ralie was... uncomfortable. Uncomfortable with the very official permanence of the men's presence. Uncomfortable with the way Kitty smiled and blushed at Kane, even when it could be nothing, she made a mental note to glare at him more. And uncomfortable with how comfortable Kitty was becoming with them. She poked the fire violently, sparks shooting out everywhere. Ralie was happy for her sister... somewhere deep down below the worry. Kitty had never really had much of a chance to make friends, and Ralie could only assume that the Kane and Rhys, fellow Wargs, would be able to befriend Kitty.

This is a good thing, Ralie. A beneficial thing. They can help with hunting, and double our survival. Just swallow down your pride girl. Get. Over. It. She attempted to give herself a mental pep talk, but it didn't help very much.

She decided to shift her gaze away from Kitty and decided instead to watch Blue. Something was to be said about how adorable the little pup was. Especially at how intrigued he was by Jester. She couldn't lie to herself, she wished she wasn't so interested in this exotic animal, but there was a sense of wonderment involved with the odd looking creature. Not only that, but seeing how a full grown animal companion interacting with it's Warg. She imagined that hyena's weren't very popular pets, but Jester seemed content with letting Rhys use him as a pillow. The thing she was really waiting for was the laugh. Hyena's were the laughing dogs, right? She had always wondered what an animal may sound like laughing.

She got her answer soon enough, after something Rhys said, (she wasn't really paying attention to the conversation, she knew that it would just add to her unease) the hyena burst into a round of squeaky chortles. Not what she had been expecting... but it made it almost more humorous. Jester finished his laughing, but she wanted him to do it again. It made her stomach unknot a little, probably because it was one of the only things she seemed to enjoy about having the men around. While Rhys and Kitty spoke to each other, Ralie kept her eyes pasted on Blue and Jester. She was a little worried the hyena might hurt Blue, but she remembered how Jester hadn't even attacked the wolf pup, only cornered him, Jester even had his head tilted like he had earlier, like he was listening.

Finally, the hyena did more than just meet her wishes for more laughter, he actually smiled too, pulling his lips back in a grin before some more whiney giggles. She couldn't keep herself from smiling this time around. Then she felt as though someone was staring at her, and she met the gaze of Rhys. He was smirking, she thought at her, so she quickly turned her head away and put her poker face back on.

"I'm off to have a smoke," Rhys announced, and Ralie smiled to herself, at least one of them would be gone for a bit, but her heart felt heavier when she realized that Rhys would be taking Jester with him. Seeing as she couldn't watch the hyena anymore she turned back to her sister and Kane.

While the others Kane moved away and slumped next to a tree, focusing on dealing with the scratch. Via, being her usual self did very little to help him. He didn't need it, although being able to see through her eyes might have made it easier to stitch himself up.
She instead drifted down from the tree branch, much like she had when first encountered the pair. She stepped slowly towards the food. Although she had already had enough of a meal by now. Instead she glanced back towards Kane, taunting him. Tyron was ignoring her. Petulant as usual she just paused and ruffled herself before watching Blue, titling her head and entertaining herself observing her new friend. With the wound sealed Tyron rejoined the conversation, his eyes following Rhys as he hobbled off. The young man was concerned for his friend's health, he would keep an ear out. Not that he expected anything to go wrong, Rhys probably knew his own state better than anyone. With Jester there he would be alright, not that Kane still didn't worry.

"Sometimes it feels that way. I felt so alone before I met Rhys, even when I was traveling with Via. After that I didn't believe we were the only ones, just some of the few. I guess you could call me optimistic."

He smirked, having caught Ralie taking an interest in Jester and then her sudden shift away. She didn't notice his off to the side since Rhys had the attention. Jester was like that, if only the bird brain was too. Then again he wouldn't wish for Via to be anything other than she was. He moved over next to Kitty, slowly and with an eye on Taralie. He had spotted her tense when he handed the bag to her sister earlier and he really didn't want to put her on edge any more. The younger girl had seemed to accept the situation, rather eagerly and for an understandable reason. He could somewhat understand why her sister was so withheld and protective. She didn't share the same traits that joined the three of them. He wanted to get to know her a little better, do something to ease her suspicions at least a little. Sitting down he repacked their depleted medical supplies since Kathyrn was finished.

"Jester is always rather cheerful. I guess that comes from being a hyena, it would be great if he comes to like you. Unlike beautiful here."

Via gave a happy screech, aware very much that he was talking about her. A sincere smile crossed Kane's face as he flapped onto his arm although he flinched away slightly when she landed on his shoulder her wings gushing air into his face. She wasn't the biggest of her species but she was still quite hefty. Thankfully she had learned to avoid jabbing her talons into his skin.

"Although if you can put up with being woken before sunrise and having you face clawed off." He brushed the newly patched wound on his face to emphasis the point. "I'm certain Via would be willing enough to like you. From what I can figure she visited you first for that very reason."

"Enough about them, I want to hear about you. At least as much as you're willing to share and in return I'll answer your questions. I guess neither of us have really known what it is like to be a normal human for a long time. Are you responsible for training your sister?" He grinned, probably aware that Kitty wouldn't like what he had to say. He was going to avoid mentioning that she was prepared to give herself up for Ralie's sake. That might cause all sorts of trouble. "I must say Kitty is a lot more capable than she looks." He tried to keep the questions to a minimum but now he had started talking he wanted to know the whole deal. It came from being so isolated, every new story was a world outside his comprehension.

She must have zoned out, because when she tuned back in from watching Via Kane was saying something, and then adding "I must say Kitty is a lot more capable than she looks." She glanced over at him, raising an eyebrow at him. Had he been there, just a few moments ago, when he could have killed her? She was totally helpless. It was then that she noticed he had moved to be sitting right beside her. He smelled strongly of dirt and pine, and it was strangely comforting. She frowned as she looked over the patched up gash on his handsome face. Via must have done that when she few in to protect her from him.

She offered Kane a small smile of thanks, and gingerly reached over to touch his hand. If her life were a movie, surely some sort of golden spark flecks would have flown around at the touch of their skin. At least, that's how she felt. Her doe brown orbs widened at the sensation, never having felt the strange tingling that spread up her fingers, through her wrist and into her arm. She slowly tore her gaze away from her arm, and to his face, and what she saw caused her body to go rigid. The gash on his face was moving, stitching itself together and pushing out the stitches he had so recently put in. "Kane," she said, unsteady, her grip tightening on his arm as her body locked up with fear, "your face..." She swallowed, still staring at him wide-eyed.

Kitty slowly took her hand off of him, and the feeling in her body and the movement of his skin stopped. His face was completely mended, and scar free. Kitty blinked a few times, before slowly turning to look at Ralie. "Did...did you see that, Ralie?" Her voice was breathless, completely in awe of herself. Blue looked up from Jester, tipping his head adorably to the side as if to see if Kitty were okay. She sat on the ground, shell shocked. If she touched Ralie, would it heal her, too? Or Rhys? Or anyone, for that matter? She touched her own arm, but the wounds did not heal and the tingles did not arise. She frowned, maybe it wouldn't work anymore? Maybe it was on the spritz, like her other power?

"Ralie.... give me your hand..." she said very slowly, turning to look at her sister, she held out her hand. At the contact of their skin, she got the same tingling sensation, again starting in her finger tips and rising up into her arm until it consumed her whole body. Just like with Kane, Ralie's wounds began to stitch themselves together. Kitty could practically hear her sister's heart beat in her ear, feeling her life force restoring and expanding. "This is amazing," she breathed, in awe of herself.

Ralie

She bit her lip and nodded at Kane, embarrassed that he had noticed her fascination with the hyena, but it wasn't like she was really hiding it. She shifted, trying to relax herself and unknot her stomach. This was going to be okay. Okay, she was lying to herself. She didn't honestly believe it was going to be okay, but maybe if she kept telling herself she'd end up believing it at some point.

"I guess neither of us have really known what it is like to be a normal human for a long time. Are you responsible for training your sister? I must say Kitty is a lot more capable than she looks."

Fabulous, he also managed to point out one of her insecurities, probably unintentionally, but it still stung a bit. She managed to shake it off, and forced herself to give him a small smile. "You could say that I'm responsible for her training." she shared with a shrug, smiling towards her sister. She was truly proud of Kitty, that she had been able to prove herself against this guy. Then, she noticed that her sister had touched Kane's hand, and she watched as the wound on his face began to rapidly heal.

"What the hell?" she whispered breathlessly, astonished, and Kitty turned to her, "Ralie.... give me your hand...". Ralie obeyed, wordlessly and as soon as their hands touched a weird warmth ran through her body, and every wound she had obtained in the last few days tingled as they healed shut.

"This is amazing," her sister murmured.

"That's a word for it," Ralie agreed, although she'd say it was more than just amazing. It was fucking incredible, and also extremely useful. Maybe Kitty could heal Rhys, and then she wouldn't have to feel guilty anymore. "Kane... you should get your friend up here," she said, still numb with amazement, but also flooding with pride.

"Look at what my baby sister can do," she said, pulling her sister into a hug, a smug smile lighting her face. She'd like to see anyone else's sibling do that. In fact, she sort of wished she could rub it into their parent's faces. They always thought Kitty was a bit useless, only because she couldn't compete in the Fights to win the family food or money, but she knew her little sister's worth, and now anyone they came into contact would see just how special and wonderful she was.

At first Kane was thinking that Kitty's small smile and slight touch was rather sweet. Yet even as that thought entered his mind he tensed abruptly. He felt the sparks tingle against his flesh, charged like static but more gentle. On his shoulder Via fluttered, surprised by the sudden change. Kane watched Kitty, her eyes wide, just as shocked as he was. His eyes shifting from her face to where she touched his arm. He had expected something unusual to him from having a new trio of companions but this was a little off the scale. Warmth ran up from her touch along his arms. He could feel it incredibly keenly, almost as if tracing the veins and nerves it ran along. He wasn't properly comfortable with it, these were strangers after all. Who knew what capabilities Kathryn had, like him. Neither did he feel he could move, not with her gripping his arm.

He felt the change before she pointed it out. The flesh on his cheek slowly sealing itself together again. Now he didn't dare move, breathing lightly as he tried to return Kitty's astonished stare. He didn't quite manage it, she was rather close and her hand felt quite small and delicate gripping him. So instead his brown eyes shifted target to Taralie, although she looked as shocked and in awe as her as sister. He couldn't really ignore the sensation of moving flesh on his face, a few streams of warmth redirected to his back and shoulder where some older scars dwelt. Eventually Kitty let go, after the wound had already closed and he couldn't feel a thing shifting there.

"Wow..." Was all he could utter. A smile crossing his shocked features, these two were full of surprises. What she had just done was utterly incredible. Via let out another irritated call, left out of the loop and wondering what was going on. Tyron obliged, turning his face to the bird could see the absence of slice. He even lifted his own hand to brush the spot, although he knew he wouldn't find it. He repeated the same conclusion the other two came to. Once Ralie suggested it Kane didn't have to say a thing, Via dusted off from his shoulder and chased after his friend.

"Amazing might even be an understatement. You haven't done this before have you? You're really something Kitty. You too Taralie, Rhys has dealt with hunters before yet you were on par with him and then let him live. Mercy is something that we'll find precious little of out here. Maybe I was too boring and literal. Meeting you two was a miracle just like you said."

Rhys

He had found the creek that led them to the sister's and shook his head with a smile as he lit his pipe. Slipping off his shoes he slid his bare feet into the cooling water and then opened his mind. Information flooded into him. The names and illnesses of all the toxins he was inhaling. Whispers about the creatures that surrounded him, their anatomical make-ups, the way their hearts beat, and the movement of their blood. He heard the minerals in the earth that surrounded him and the species of plants around him, he learned which were poisonous, and when he picked up on one that had healing properties he strode over and started to harvest them.

His mother had asked him to describe the whispers, like who's voice they sounded like and what not. He could really only describe them as the voice of the Gods. There was never one, but millions, all with different accents and tones. It was like everyone in the world was whispering to him. After he realized that he wasn't just crazy and learned how to turn it of and on, it felt as though he were important. It was the only thing about being a Warg that made him feel important. He might be hated and hunted, but at least he heard the voices of the Gods and knew that he had a level of enlightenment that neither a human or a hunter could reach.

He heard Via call, impatiently, and he smiled. Someone was ignoring her, he was certain of it. Via was Kane's but he had traveled with both of them long enough to know that Via was incredibly vain. She was really Jester's polar opposite, yet they seemed to get along famously. Probably as well as Kane and he got along. He stared at Jester hearing what he had heard a thousand times before, everything about his species, build, how well his heart was working, etc. He patted the hyena's head and laughed when he thought back to Ralie. If Jester was the only thing she liked about Kane and himself joining them, he was okay with that, because it was at least one thing. Although, he wasn't giving up on friendship quite yet. There was something about her, maybe it was the way that she had almost kicked his ass or her devotion to her sister, but he wanted to know more about her, and he wanted her to tell him. The question was how. She was distrustful, of course, and skittish, also understandable. He looked down a Jester, maybe he could be his way into her head... She'd want to know more, it was probably her first time ever seeing this big guy, and Jester was lovable and sweet. He stopped himself before looking down at the hyena again, he was simply grinning up at him and he smiled back.

"What do you say boy? Wanna be my wingman?"

Kitty glanced between her sister and Kane, still a little shocked. Ralie told Kane to get his friends, Rhys, and it was a wonderful idea. Maybe she wasn't as helpless and useless as she had always thought she was? "Amazing might even be an understatement. You haven't done this before have you? You're really something Kitty. You too Taralie, Rhys has dealt with hunters before yet you were on par with him and then let him live. Mercy is something that we'll find precious little of out here. Maybe I was too boring and literal. Meeting you two was a miracle just like you said." She looked over to Kane and blushed a little. She was a miracle? Well, her new found power certainly was, anyway.

Her mind raced with possibilities, of all the people she could help! She couldn't help but smile at the thought, looking to Blue who bounded happily over to her and jumped into her lap, licking her face. She giggled, petting him with a smile. He was excited, too. She grinned over at her sister, and nearly teared up at the sight of the proud smirk on her sister's face. She made Ralie proud. She couldn't be happier. She rubbed behind Blue's ear with a smile, waiting for Rhys to come back to the camp. "I've never.. Wow is right," she sighed.

Rhys

After finishing his smoke and harvesting as many as the medicinal herbs he could carry, he decided to head back up to the camp. Jester trotted beside him, seemingly without a care in the world. The trek back was somehow even more painful than it had been going there. Each step jolted his wound, and gritting his teeth he tried to shake it off. He wasn't sure why he was so set on not showing he was in pain, there wasn't really anyone around him that he particularly had to impress, but he felt that if he admitted to the pain, he would be proving some sort of weakness. He didn't want to seem week, even in the company of Jester. Although the hyena knew him on the level that he could tell his master was in pain.

Even before Rhys reached the camp he could feel the excitement, when he finally got there, Ralie had a smug smile on her face, Kitty had the biggest grin he had ever seen on a human being. Seriously, that girl could smile, and even Kane had a look of amazement. He stepped into the circle of people.

"Well obviously I missed something important... Anyone care to fill me in?"

"Well obviously I missed something important... Anyone care to fill me in?" Rhys was back! Kitty jumped to her feet, her Cheshire cat smile still stretching from ear to ear. Her sister was proud of her! But it was back to business now. She walked over to Rhys and pulled her grin into a small, shy smile. "My sister and I want to apologize for her beating you up," she said sweetly, reaching out and taking his hand. "I hope this will be a sufficient apology. It won't hurt, I promise."

The warm, tingling sensation began to creep from the tip of her finger tips, to her palm, wrist, and on up until it consumed her whole body. She was grinning again, unable to contain her joy. She had complete control over when and how this power worked, which was such a blessing from the last time she discovered a power. What a relief to finally be able to help someone; to bring a bit of light back into the dark world she was born into. She was just thinking about how thankful she was for her powers when she went to pull her hand away and her finger accidentally brushed the hem of his shirt. She stumbled backwards as she lost sight of the world around her, visions of Rhys' past flashing like an old picture show on fast forward.

An image of golden fields flashes before her, the thin wispy little grains of wheat bowing in the wind. Then the image changed, a flash of a hand running through his dark hair; his hand. Over and over, and over, in different places. Mountains, prairies, the forest, the shower, in a bed, by a tree, the images moved so quickly it was hard to see anything but the hand which was always in focus. In another flash was a knife, swung at her(his) face with Kane on the opposite side of the blade looking scared, younger, and determined. The fear of the knife broke her from the daze, and she found herself still standing (thankfully) in front of Rhys who was looking at her strangely. "I'm sorry," she said suddenly, the first thing she would have said for a good four minutes. "I won't take you attacking us personally anymore," she added with a weak smile, feeling a little dizzy from the rush of memories, "After all, it worked out well last time, huh?" She tried to laugh it off, knowing he would know what she was talking about.

That familiar feeling of being unable to control anything was back, but not as strongly. She could still control her healing touch, which meant that maybe she wasn't so useless after all.

Rhys

"I hope this will be a sufficient apology. It won't hurt, I promise."

Before Rhys could say anything Kitty grabbed his hand and he felt a strange warmth move through his veins muscles. It centered around the torn flesh in his side, and he felt his muscle and skin mending themselves. Needless to say it was a slightly uncomfortable feeling. He turned his eyes to Kitty, but noticed that they seemed faraway and blank. He knew the look, of being lost in a wave of information one can't control. He wondered what she was seeing, and he hoped it wasn't anything to extremely detailed. Mostly, he hoped that she didn't see anything about his exile. When she returned to back to the present she apologized and he shrugged.

"I won't take you attacking us personally anymore, after all, it worked out well last time, huh?" she said with a nervous laugh and he smiled. Obviously she saw the first time Kane and himself met.

He could see her unease, and recognized the feeling of having no control. He remembered when he thought he was crazy, hearing voices all the time. Being unable to shut them up or trace their source. It inspired a feeling of helplessness, and no one particularly enjoyed that feeling. He wanted to help her... but he wasn't really sure how to ask. Although, he wanted to check exactly what happened to his wound. As soon as he undressed it, there was only a thin scar in the wounds place.

"Holy shit snacks," he muttered under his breath, "That's fucking impressive."

"We're still the ones who should be apologising." Kane added, but he didn't stop her. If she felt guilty he shouldn't prevent from trying to alleviate that, even though she didn't have a role in Rhys' injury. He stood to watch the show. He had seen how Taralie's wounds had knit themselves together and he had felt his own flesh repair. It had been both slightly disturbing and awe inspiring. The later being far more predominant.

"She can do something amazing, Just wait."

He encouraged them both and saw Kitty's warm smile. From what he could tell it was working, both in her reaction and his friends. He sent a glance over to Ralie, she was proud of her sister and certainly ought to be. Wargs were hunted in fear of what they could do. For such a rough and terrible existence to birth something as beautiful as the ability to close and heal injuries. It was really a miracle.

Yet things weren't all well just yet. It looked like she was just about to move away when her demeanor suddenly changed. She seemed shocked, overcome and stumbled as she stepped backwards. He didn't need to bother but he jerked forward and seized her arm, to prevent her from falling. She regained her balance but not her sensibilities, she stood still. Her eyes distance and unfocused.

"Kathyrn?"

He asked, concerned sending a concerned look to Taralie. He had no idea if this had happened before, maybe they had dredged up some bad memories. Another possibility was that her capability to heal was biting back at her. Both with himself and with Rhys, their abilities didn't come without a cost. For them it was mostly an inconvenience that could get the better of them. Being able to do something as amazing as she could might have a comparable cost.

Thankfully she broke out of it moments later and he released her with a light sigh of relief. He now remembered where he had seen that reaction before. When he first caught her and often enough before Rhys could filly control his mind. If that was the case it would explain the peculiar comment just afterwards. He frowned a little when she proved him right, there was still a lot they had to learn. Still he managed a smile along with her, he had been thinking the exact same thing.

"It did work out. Thanks to Via and Jester. No one managed to stab each other though. You alright now Kitty?"

He didn't like leaving Taralie out, the two were sisters and he wondered what it was like for Ralie. Meeting a pair of Wargs and having her sister suddenly become the focus of everything. He also hoped the Kitty didn't catch him using her name. It was nicer than Kitty in his opinion but he wasn't in a position to be persistent over that. Not to mention she deserved to be somewhat demanding after he saw the meager scar on Rhys' side. He had smelt the blood and knew that the wound was rather nasty. He chuckled, things were progressing oddly but they were progressing.

"Any more surprises you two have for us? If we are going to be travelling together we might want to find out before we end up in some dire situation. On that note, are we planning to hang around here for a while? We're all pretty much recovered, thanks to you two. It might be wise to move on, four people is more noticeable then just two. Trust me."

Ralie

As Kitty healed Rhys's wound, she felt the weird feelings of guilt leaving her. I shouldn't feel guilty, he attacked me, she reminded herself, but she shrugged it off, watching her amazing sister be... well, be amazing. Then things went a bit down hill. She saw the familiar change of face. Her sister's wide eyed, blanked out gaze. The stiffness in her body, her slack jaw, it was all very familiar. Her other power, the one that Ralie was familiar with, had come to the forefront as Kitty lost herself in some of Rhys's past events. The worried look in Rhys's eyes told Ralie that not only did he recognize what was going on, he had something very dark to hide, that he didn't want her seeing.

"Kathryn? Kane used Kitty's "real name" worriedly, and he shot a concerned look in Ralie's direction, before running over, attempting to catch Kitty, as her balance faltered a bit.

Ralie bit back some anger. Why would he use her real name? There was a reason Kitty was called Kitty, a reason he probably didn't understand. Kitty was what Ralie called her growing up because of her insane curiosity about the world that surrounded her, and it made Ralie so happy when she used it instead of what their parent's named her. Their parents didn't care about Kitty, why should she be called a name that was given to her by people who didn't care or love her the way Ralie did? And why did he think it was okay to touch Kitty? She didn't care if he was the "nice one" he had no right. Her smug smile turned into a sneer as she walked over practically shoving Kane out of the way.

"She's fine," she said sharply, grabbing and holding on to Kitty's hand, leading her gently away from the two men and sitting Kitty down beside her.

She had overreacted. She knew that, and from the look in Kitty's eyes, Kitty knew that too. Ralie was suddenly suspended in guilt yet again. She removed her hand from Kitty's and biting her lip in embarrassment buried her face in her hands. Kitty had to know why Ralie was acting the way she was. She had too. Ralie had spent her whole life making sure her sister was face, perhaps she coddled her a little bit, but it was because she loved her little sister. Looking through her fingers, Kane was saying something, but she was distracted because Rhys was looking directly at her. His gray-green eyes bore right into her, and she wondered if he could read people like he said he could read the world around him. She kind of hoped that he would, if he could, so he would know why she was acting the way she was.

Then she finally tuned into what Kane was saying, "It might be wise to move on, four people is more noticeable then just two. Trust me."

It wasn't a matter of trust that made her stand up, "Yes. We should keep moving," she agreed and began packing, making sure she didn't make eye contact with anyone.

Kitty blinked, a little shocked as Kane swiftly rose to help her, and at her sister's instantaneous leap to her feet. In a flash Ralie had her by the arm, snatching her away from Kane. "She's fine," Ralie snapped, swiftly leading Kitty away. Kitty glanced over her shoulder as Kane added, "It might be wise to move on, four people is more noticeable then just two. Trust me." Kitty looked to Ralie, who sat with her head in her hands. Kitty frowned and gently placed a hand onto her back. She had overreacted, but it was just because she loved her and wanted to protect her. Kitty understood, and turned on a smile as Ralie stood and agreed that they should keep moving. Kitty nodded and helped her sister pack what little they had.

Meanwhile, Blue was having a lovely time yipping away at Via, as if having a conversation with her. He watched her delicate head, the way it gently moved this way and that, following the sound of conversation. Blue couldn't be bothered with the blunderings of humans at the moment, he was far too busy observing the strange creatures that had suddenly become a part of his pack. There was something about the way Via moved her neck just so that made him want to latch on with his jaws and shake her around. Oh, what fun it would be! But those claws.. those claws would hurt. Maybe she wasn't a toy, but a part of the pack like the new strange looking wolf that had joined his companion.

Kitty sighed as she finished packed, throwing her bookbag onto her shoulders and looking to Ralie with a small smile. "Which way, Ralie?" She looked to her sister, offering her a smile. She wanted Ralie to know that she was useful; that she was needed. These men would never replace her sister, but she did like having them around. "You know what I miss about being home? Beds. I can't wait to sleep in a bed again," she smiled over her shoulder at Ralie. "Kinda funny, huh? Since I used to hate having to lie in bed all day... heh. The irony." She followed after Ralie, with Blue trotting along happily at her heel. "You made the best breakfasts for me in bed, Ralie..." She paused, then laughed, "Still do!"

"I suppose we're heading west. Back the way we came."

Kane conveyed to Ralie, meaning the route he and Rhys had taken to intruded on the pair's camp. He let the woman decide anything more. Obviously they still had a wait to go before they could properly trust each other. He really couldn't fathom how their minds would work. Either that or he was overly optimistic and didn't mesh. He was good at holding his stride when things went belly up. Unfortunately that didn't translate completely to dealing with woman he had only just met. He waited patiently for them to pack and he moved to talked to Rhys out of immediate earshot. His initial excitement was wearing off a little.

"Do you have any problems traveling with them Rhys? You didn't really say much. No hard feelings about that wound right?"

He personally hoped that Rhys didn't have any problems. Rhys probably got along better with people then Tyron did himself so he wasn't worried about a difference in opinion. They had traveled together long enough to understand each other. Kane be more optimistic but his friend was better with people. Kane had to remind himself that. Their first few years he tried to cut himself off and it was only thanks to Rhys friendly persistence that he actually let them become close. Via and Jester had their input too, ever friendly and the biggest bond between the two Wargs for a time. If it was the same time then the biggest problem here was that Ralie had already shown how incredibly protective she was and she was not a Warg. She had very little reason to accept them for her own sake, only Kitty's.

Ralie

Ralie didn't say anything more to Kane's suggestion. Instead, she just started to walk. She let everyone else fall into some formation behind her, although she motioned for Kitty to stay beside her. It was purely out of habit that she wanted her sister close. If only close enough to keep her in her peripheral vision. She didn't believe that the men were a threat to them any longer, but that didn't mean she trusted them. She would never trust them.

"You made the best breakfasts for me in bed, Ralie..." She paused, then laughed, "Still do!"

Ralie smiled over at her sister, "What are big sister's for if not for making breakfast?" she responded gently bumping Kitty with her hip.

She heard Kane murmur something to Rhys and strained her ears to hear, but she couldn't. Stupid, average, human hearing. Her face contorted into a sneer but she rolled her eyes and cracked each side of her neck.

"Kitty, are you sure that you... are comfortable with them being here?" Ralie knew that it was a futile question, and that her sister was more than comfortable with their presence among them. She just needed Kitty to remind her out-loud why Ralie was letting them stay.

She heard Jester giggle and he trotted up to walk beside her. She looked questioningly down at the hyena, and he met her gaze, his doggy grin in place, panting happily. She couldn't help but smile. She was really growing to like this exotic creature. He was... fun, and he reminded her what happy looked like.

Rhys

"Do you have any problems traveling with them Rhys? You didn't really say much. No hard feelings about that wound right?"

Rhys turned to his friend, "A little extra company is nice, besides, the older one is nice to look at,"he responded with a grin and a shrug, "And no hard feelings at all from my end,"There was no reason for him to be upset. Well, perhaps there were some men that would be pissed that a girl had hurt them so badly, but he didn't really care.

He looked down to Jester, "How about you boy, any thoughts?" the hyena cackled and then after playfully nipping his hand, he trotted forward to walk beside Ralie.

She smiled down at the hyena and he laughed a little, "You know what, Kane? I think that the only reason that Ralie tolerates us is because of Jester," Rhys said, shaking his head with a smirk.
