Willow

Bursting into the residence, the white-haired teen ran into the living room before starting to talk loudly and quickly, words blurring together. "Someone cold! Sapphire carrying cold person here, they need help!" Message delivered, she sank to her knees, breathing in and out as she tried to catch her breath before suddenly a cat was in her place, spread out on the floor looking exhausted. She would leave it to them to figure out what to do next, she was sleepy and it was warm here...

~*~*~*~

Sapphire Wynters

Hearing Cecil's claim about him eating now, Sapphire turned to look at the brunette just in time to watch him eat a macaron. "I'm not sure that's healthy, but it's something I suppose..." Turning back to face the way they were going, the blue-haired teens eyes widening it bit as the residence came into view. Would they make it in time? He hadn't been keeping track of how long the trip had taken. Barely noticing the exchange between Cecil and Dennis behind him, Sapphire quickened his pace more, he would run but he didn't want to jostle his passenger too much, or lose his grip on the boy.

~*~*~*~

Rune

In the end, the punishment hadn't been as bad as Rune had feared it would be. Their wrists had been bound so tightly in bandages that they were starting to wonder if their blood flow was being cut off. This did, however, prevent them being able to use any of the blood they'd managed to get. The cuffs were still on of course, they had been taken off temporarily while their wrists were cleaned and bound, but the witches weren't likely going to leave them without some form of restraint. The one time the group had done that Rune was half way to the nearest town.

Now the short teen was running around the little camp the witches had set up, doing errands for pretty much anyone that told her to do something. It was so bad she supposed, though some of the messages she had to deliver were a tad weird and she didn't understand half of what they were about. Something about other people nearby? But this was the middle of a forest right? How could there be other people nearby?

Shrugging off such thoughts for the moment, they carried on with the tasks set for them. It would likely be a while before they could attempt another break out again, they needed to collect their strength for the occasion.

~*~*~*~

Corvus

Snow. While he didn't overly mind the cold, Corvus wasn't a huge fan of the snow, it was something that forced a lot of animals into hiding so that they wouldn't die from the lack of food around. He much preferred storms, something about the chaotic weather, the flash and the rumble, soothed him and sometimes he would spend several hours just laying in the rain as the storm raged above him.

Instead here he was trudging through the snow. He was cold and a tad annoyed, especially since all the snow was making his clothes wet, he would have to change when he got to where he was going.

Something rustled in the bushes next to him and a small, frail looking fox stumbled out of them. It looked half-starved and likely hadn't had a good meal for a while. Fishing through his pockets, the ginger pulled out a scrap of food he had been saving, though in all honesty he had forgotten that he had it until now.

Kneeling down next to the sorry looking creature, he held it out, not surprised when it came over to snag the meager meal. "Hungry, huh? Sorry, I don't have anything else for you..." After a moment of fussing over the fox, he watched as it scampered away, a little more full of energy than before.

Sighing a little, the teen stood back up again, stretching a little and accidentally knocking his hat askew in the process. "Come on, not far to go now..." Fixing the position of his hat, he started walking again, grumbling slightly under his breath about the snow as he did.

Ash wasn't surprised at her reaction. She seemed more bothered by what was prompted instead of the fact she had been prompted. Her eyes had welled in tears, obviously deeply offended. What a shallow girl, to not even have noticed that they were suddenly overwhelmed by the entire situation- a house in the middle of nowhere, people with far more obvious abilities than their own, who feigned kindness quite poorly when it was more clear they simply wanted to show off.

Well, if anything, it showed that it was mildly safe, if they willing to shamelessly flaunt such abilities.

Their attention was diverted by the sniffling girl, who all but stormed out of the room, muttering none too quietly to herself.

Well, for what mattered, Lisi seemed to be aware of the mistake of showing too much too soon without much context. She apologized quickly, attempting to explain that, despite their abilities, they were harmless.

The people here were probably also incredibly shallow, but if that were the case, they probably wouldn't have to worry about people trying to invade their personal space, like Lisi. But she didn't seem stupid, judging how she immediately identified the problem instead of pissing and moaning that they could maybe try to be nice by humoring others with lies even if the past event left them a bit shaken. At least she had that in her favor.

She then left the room, telling them to wait- as if they could do anything else, aside from turning on their heel and leaving the house- and she soon returned with a pen and stationary.

This actually surprised them. Their scowl softened to a more puzzled expression as they took the objects. They actually did know sign language, but often would make people turn away from them after messing with them, forcing them to say things as if they were mere ventriloquist dummies, even if they didnt catch on that they were being used. Ash hadn't been messing with these people, they were genuinely shocked at the whole situation and slipped, but even so, Lisi wanted to have a conversation.

My name is Ash Canary. I don't see why you bother wanting to talk to me they wrote.

  1. Cecil tells Sapphire he's "counting on him to take care of him." Not sure if this is supposed to be an innuendo or not to be honest. Lucy starts to draw a PSP game for her new buddy Rhys but Things Are Happening and I am so excited.

Cecil shrugs. "You're right. It's something. After we get this kid warmed up, I'm counting on you to take care of me, Sapphire." He winks at Sapphire as they arrive at the door.
--
Lucy taps her chin. "I've never really tried something like that! Maybe I could, though. Let's seeeee..." She starts to put her crayon to paper, but—
--
At Willow's words, some of the children inside exchange glances with each other. Cosmo reappears out of thin air, saucers with tea cups full of warm tea on them floating around him. He looks at Willow, bewildered, before she shifts into cat form. He lowers himself to the ground and crosses his arms, turning towards the others. "Alright, listen, listen! If there is a Wayward Child in need of help from the cold, we're all going to need to prepare! Hot towels! Blankets! Heating pads! Anything that conducts heat, please, please!" He turns toward the door just in time for it to swing open.

Cecil and the rest of them arrive at the door, with the brunet stepping into the room with a bit of urgency. A few of the other children trickle into the room with the requested objects, and Cecil scans the room. "... Are Dev and Gab around? I think we could use them, since they're doctors. They won't be able to heal something like this, but..." His eyes shift over to the unconsccious boy on Sapphire's back. "... I'd like them to take a look at him." After all, doctors should know what to do for hypothermia better than an amateur detective.

Lucy widens her eyes at the scene, a little perturbed by the sight of an unusually pale boy who isn't conscious. She frowns and grabs onto Rhys's sleeve to guide him with her before stepping over to Cecil's side. Suddenly, she isn't so mad anymore.

Willow || Sapphire Wynters

Arriving back at the residence, Sapphire took a look around the room they had just stepped into before finding an empty couch. Striding over, he absently noticed Willow passed out in the middle of the floor. Still, he crouched down next to the empty piece of furniture, laying the unconscious kid down gently, propping the boy's head up with one of the cushions before taking a step back to let those who needed to get closer.

With that done, Sapphire scooped up Willow who didn't protest the action in her dozing state. Cat in hand, the blue-haired teen moved to stand next to Cecil once more, watching things unravel with a concerned look upon his face. Sighing softly, he murmured under his breath. "I hope everything turns out alright..."

Cecil looks over to Sapphire and grins at him. "With our help, he'll be fine. We actually made it a little earlier than expected. Once we get Dev and Gab get here, he'll help them out. For now, look." Some of the other members have been putting everything warm on Jaz, and one child even lets flames flow from her fingers, holding them out towards the unconscious boy as if she were imitating a furnace. "Teamwork's a beautiful thing, isn't it?" He bumps the boy's shoulder.

Lucy grabs a hold of Cecil's jacket, and he looks down at her, a small smile on his face. "I see you made a friend. You're a little scared, huh? Well, don't worry about him. He'll be fine. My guesses are never wrong." He pats her head.
--
Oliver, who had been taking care of all the indoor plants, had walked in from the kitchen to see what all the ruckus was. Upon surveying his surroundings, and seeing an unconscious boy on the couch, he widens his eyes. A few flower petals flutter off of his body in shock.

Lisi couldn't help the excited squeal that slipped past her lips as the new child excepted the stationary she had offered. She felt herself bouncing up and down in anticipation as she waited for them to finish whatever they were writing. When they were finally done she quickly rushed over in order to read what was written on the paper.

She let out an excited gasp as she realized that the child had finally informed them of their name. "Your name is Ash? What a wonderful name!" Lisi said with a big grin as she clapped her hands together happily. When she read the second part of the note however, she couldn't help but look at Ash with confusion.

"I'm talking to you because I want to get to know you better. Why wouldn't I want to talk to you?" She tilted her head curiously, wondering why the younger child would even ask why they bothered to talk to her. However, before she could get an answer she head somebody burst through the front door.

Turning, Lisi watched with wide eyes as Willow rushed into the living room and shouted something about a 'cold person'. Not long after she watched as the others rushed inside carrying a boy between them. It was obvious that this was the so called cold person that Willow had been speaking of, and soon just about all of the children were attempting to warm him up.

Motioning to Ash that she would be right back, Lisi walked over to the freezing boy and made a contribution of her own. Taking off the hat that she always wore, the girl carefully put it on the boy. "It's important to keep your head warm!" She stated to no one in particular as she moved out of the way so that Dev and Gab could reach the child.

Walking back over to Ash's side, Lisi attempted to smooth her hair down. She wasn't used to walking around without her hat, but this was for a good cause. Turning to the child at her side, Lisi smiled a bit warily before saying, "Well, it looks like you aren't the only new kid anymore.". Lisi just hoped that Cosmo would take the time to explain things to this child, she obviously wasn't really cut out for that job.

  1. Basically Dev and Gab smile non-menacingly at Ash and tell him that they're not mad at him and explain why they'd made it so hamtastic - show that its cool for him to be there and that abilities are ok and that he's welcome. They're a bit upset that Ash made Elise cry though, so they're a bit telling-off with their words, although still warm.

    by Alle9009
  2. Lisi comes back with the notebook, Cecil's crew enters, Gab and Dev go doctor mode on Jaz and after some examination say that a change of clothes, warm bed and warm everything plus a cold compress to bring his temperature down is cool and that ultimately they have to keep Jaz warm and wait for him to sweat off the fever.

    by Alle9009
  3. Devon also tells Ash to apologise to Elise for making her cry

    by Alle9009
  4. Dennis splits the macaroon into four pieces and shares it with Willow, Cecil and Sapphire to cheer them up and get Cecil to eat something, and also because he knows that Cecil like that macaroon flavour and feels a bit bad about eating Cecil's favourite macaroon lol the lil cinnamon bun

    by Alle9009
  5. Just assume that Lisi spent a long time looking for the notebook so that Dev and Gab can convo with Ash lol

    by Alle9009
  6. Alle not logged in - the Dennis scene takes place inbetween the Dev and Gab examining Jaz scene. Or after, whichever better first come first choose I don't really care. Also Jaz is suffering from exhaustion, forgot to add that into the post. Will do so later, along with additional everyone throws blankets on Jaz scene.

That could have gone better. Devon and Gabriel watched as Elise headed back up to her room, incensed and holding back tears from the sarcastic reply from the Newkid. While Lisi went off to grab something from upstairs, they turned as one to face Ash, their faces and body unreadable.

For a moment, the silence was almost uncomfortable. Then Gabriel launched himself towards Devon with an emotional wail.

"Wahh, Brother, they didn't enjoy the show!" Ignoring Ash, Gabriel clung to his brother with a tearful look on his face, Devon patting Gabriel comfortingly on the back. "Even after all the trouble Lisi and Elise went through - and us, of course - they didn't like iiiit!"

"There, there, brother of mine. Maybe its because you made the wound too big? You always had trouble with that." Devon mused, placing a hand to the back of Gabriel's head as he rested his chin against Devon's shoulder. "Or maybe he didn't like me healing Lisi's wound with a touch, or Elise's closing act, or our theatrical attempts to get him comfortable with the place - dearie me, there's so many to choose from!" He looked thoughtfully at Ash. "Which one do you think it is?"

"Hmm, I dunno, maybe all three?" Almost as if he'd forgotten his disappointment Gabriel let go of Devon, whirling around to face Ash with startling suddenness. He smiled brightly and leant down close, eyes shut in happy small crescents. "My ability is to cause injuries with merely a touch, while Devon's power heals." he said breezily. He waved a hand in the air, as if to say I know right? "As you can expect, people didn't take kindly to that since they fear what they can't understand, and my power is destructive. They tried to lynch us, haha! But it doesn't matter here, because Mr Cosmo took us in." Gabriel laughed, whirling around and taking a couple of steps back to Devon's side. He turned to face Ash with a smile and half-lidded eyes, leaning against Devon's shoulder once again. "Any child in need arrives here -"

"And Mr Cosmos will help!" Devon finished. He shot a smile towards Ash as well, although his eyes weren't quite as bright as his brothers. He reached up with a hand to readjust his glasses. "What we're saying that it's ok to use your abilities here, no one will prosecute you for it. We didn't do it for appreciation, although that'd be welcome. Sorry if it was overwhelming. We did the act to make you feel welcome, and to show that even if your ability is destructive it's ok because nobody here will care about it! Unless you try to use it on them without their permission, of course." He smiled warningly at Ash, placing his hand in his pocket. "Mr Cosmos would not be pleased. If you can't control it, though, it's ok! We'll help you learn how to control your ability here. It would be cool if you could be a little nicer so that the others would find it easier to approach you - look how you made Elise cry?- but its ok if you don't want to. It doesn't really matter anyway - once you're here, you're one of us." The two of them smiled warmly at Ash.

Before Ash could respond, Lisi had rushed down the stairs and towards them, shoving a notebook into Ash's hands. The twins stood back and watched the scene unfold, smiling to themselves.

It didn't matter if Ash hadn't received their message, or thought of them as jerks with no sense of proportion. What mattered was that they had heard the message. It'd probably sink in one day, the way it had for them when Mr Cosmos had talked to them all those years ago.

The two looked up as the front door burst open, revealing Willow who barked out something about a really cold kid. They looked at each other in concern as Mr Cosmos talked about blankets, and when Cecil burst through the door with Dennis (who was carrying a macaroon carefully in his hands with a look of concentration) and Sapphire, who was carrying somebody on his back, the two exchanged a look of surprise.

Gabriel was already moving when Cecil asked for the Zarzuela twins to check up on the unconscious boy. Devon stayed back a little longer to leave some parting words for Ash. "We're off to check on the other new kid now, but you should apologise to Elise." he advised Ash, glancing up the stairs. "Doesn't matter if you meant it or not, you were still pretty mean to her. You made her cry, so you should apologise. That's what people normally do when they make people cry."

Sure, there were extenuating circumstances sometimes, but this situation was not one of them. Devon went off to see the unconscious kid, who was laid out on the couch. He took his place beside Gabriel, who had brought the kit out and was examining the boy. For a while, they looked him over, grabbing a towel to dry him off as they both went about their work with a professionalism that had been belied by their age.

"I can see his ribs, his skin is hot and sweaty to the touch despite him shaking up a storm, his lips and fingers have also turned a bit blue..." Devon said at length, frowning. "Cyanosis, temperature of 38.4 degrees celsius and malnutrition." Gabriel finished. They both looked at each other, exchanging internal conversation faster than people could register.

"We've dried him off the best we can without actually taking his clothes off, but he should still put on something warm," Dev instructed, pushing his spectacles up the bridge of his nose. The normally smiling teen had a serious look on his face as he continued, "Keeping him warm is a priority, he should rest near the fireplace, I think."

"A change of clothes is in order, and he should probably eat something liquidy and warm tomorrow like warm milk so that his stomach won't reject it, but.... Gabriel looked up, glancing at Devon as if for confirmation.

"He should be fine." They chorused, smiling up at the others with relief.

Meanwhile, Dennis had carefully, carefully broken the macaroon in four equal pieces, with the help of a knife that he'd found in the kitchen. He'd nearly cut his finger, but luckily there was no wounds that needed to be attended to. Dennis closed his eyes in bliss as he slipped one piece of macaroon in his mouth, savouring the flavour of the sweet. Cupping the pieces tenderly in his hand, Dennis walked over to Sapphire and Willow before slipping two pieces into Sapphire's hands, gesturing that it was for the two of them before wandering off towards Cecil.

Hopefully it'd cheer them up...

Next was Cecil. Dennis still remembered Cecil's comment about not eating for two days. That had been why he'd held onto the macaroon instead of eating it like Cecil had meant him to, hiding it in the palm of his hand. He'd thought of breaking it into two pieces at first, but what if Sapphire and Willow felt left out? That wouldn't be nice... So four equal pieces. Dennis was still vaguely disappointed about not being able to stay out as long as he liked, but that didn't really matter anymore, now that they'd found a new household member. Better him living in the house than dying out in the snow.

Walking up to Cecil, Dennis grabbed his hand and dropped the macaroon onto his palm, curling Cecil's fingers shut with his own. He pushed it towards Cecil, looking up at him and gesturing for Cecil to eat the macaroon.

  1. TL dr In which Ash's assumptions are mostly confirmed and they regret absolutely nothing because they're a cynical a-hole. Though they realize they can't really leave without ending up like popsicle kid, and wonder if there is even actual food in this place, seeing what was brought out.

It seemed that the two understood that they probably went a bit overboard, and also took a moment to explain that they did it for reasons that Ash had already deducted- to show it was alright, safe.

Yet they chastised Ash for making Elise cry. Well, s'not my fault she can't read basic expressions like mild overwhelment. She seriously expected me to act that way. She only cried because I wasn't as giddily impressed as she hoped one would be after watching someone slice another person's arm open WITH THEIR MIND- or touch apparently- or be able to fling objects around with their mind.

Actually, it was probably good she started to cry instead of flinging me to a wall. She probably really wanted to do that. That ended up happening to me a lot, though not through mind power. My shoulder hurts just thinking about it.
Their hand reflectively went up to their shoulder, pushing their fingers under their scarf. More often than not, it was their left shoulder that ended up in the firm grip of an adult- mostly adults, they didn't often stick around kids their age- and would get the same treatment as Ash had given to their fragile pride.

Well, it seemed kids had as much pride to shatter. Or bruise.

And it seemed that, using their power as they usually did was a no-no. Obviously. But how could they tell if it was in fact an accident?

...Well, to be fair, their snapping towards Elise had been unintended. Not regrettable, but unintended.

They doubted she would even accept the apology, so they decided to just forget about it and carry on.

They also didn't want people to talk to, or be approachable. They just wanted safety. And meals. Then they would leave. But first, they needed to settle. Then to prepare. Then leave.

It was obvious that leaving anytime soon wasn't an option, as soon as they brought in a human popsicle to be. That kid must've been sick to start with- they had been walking around in the weather since before the trees shed their leaves for the year, since the first snow, and only experienced mild annoyance at the gusts of wind. Then again, they did eat often, how they got food is none of your concern, thank-you very much. They didn't have ribs poking out. Maybe you could see them a little, but that was just lack of fat, not severe malnutrition.

Not like a macaroon would stave off malnutrition. Didn't they have proper food here? If anything, the kid needed to eat watery sweet rice so they could get some substantial meal that wasn't to harsh on them.

Willow || Sapphire Wynters

At the twins' announcement that the kid would be fine, Sapphire slumped slightly in relief, leaning ever so slightly on Cecil. "I'm glad..." He smiled as Lucy dragged over a younger boy, tilting his head back to look upwards as he listened to the exchange between Cecil and the girl.

It wasn't until he felt something being put into his hand that he looked down again, noticing Dennis in front of him. Looking at what he was given he noticed two small piece of macron. "Thank you Dennis." Sapphire smiled warmly at the boy as he then went on to pass a piece over to Cecil as well. Straightening up, he ate his piece before gently nudging Willow awake so that the cat could eat hers too.

That done, Sapphire turned to ask Cecil if there was anything in particular that he wanted to eat but the door opened and from the corner of his eye he could see as a small figure with bright orange hair peered through the opening.

~*~*~*~

Corvus

Thankfully by this point the blizzard seemed to be dying down a little, but Corvus knew better than to trust that it would stay that way. Predicting the weather was something he had never been good at, thus he had been caught out in his fair share of miserable weather during his travels.

He had stopped his complaining a few minutes previously, and had now settled for glaring at the snowflakes as they melted on his clothes. Shivering slightly, the ginger knew that if he didn't get to where he was going soon he might end up freezing. Rubbing his gloved hands together to create a little more warmth, he then shoved them into the pockets of his trousers, losing himself in thought as he forced himself to move forwards.

A short while later a familiar fox appeared before him, making the teen pause and blink a couple of times at the creature. "I don't have anything else for you." The small thing continued to stare up at him and he sighed a little. "I see, you want to stick around then, huh?" At the affirmative bark from the fox, Corvus rolled his eyes somewhat. "Very well then, come along. I can probably find something for you to eat when we get to where I'm heading."

The pair traveled through the snow in silence and about ten minutes later Corvus could see the residence up ahead. It looked just the same as the last time he was there, except that there seemed to be more flowers than before. The building seemed a little quieter than usual, though everyone was probably inside because of the weather so that was no cause for concern.

Cosmo had never seemed to have a problem with the ginger just waltzing into the building before, so that's what Corvus did. After closing the front door behind him, he could hear people talking in the living room and he headed in that direction, maybe Cosmo was in there? He did need to talk to the man to see if he didn't mind having the orange-haired teen stay for a few months.

Reaching the living room, he pushed open the door and peered through before stepping into the room fully. Corvus had to resist the urge to scowl when his scan of the people in the room showed that most of them were taller than himself. He also noted a slight level of tension in the air, and was that someone ill on the couch?

"So... I suppose this is a bad time then?"

At the sound of a newcomer's voice, Cecil is surprised. It's rare for Cecil to be surprised, so the brunet's green-eyed gaze snaps to the doorway, squinting his eyes slightly. He pats Dennis's head in thanks and pops the macaron in his mouth, chewing on it, before his features settle into a deep frown. As the other children scramble off to do what the good doctors told them—like change him into new clothes, move him closer to the furnace, and such, Cecil pats Sapphire's shoulder before he steps off over to Corvus, expression and tone blank.

"Who are you?"

Of course, he's seen this face before. He's always coming to visit Cosmo, but he never stays. He's always in and out of here, like it's nothing. Cecil wonders how someone could step into this place and not want to stay.

Lucy peers out from behind Cecil to see the redhaired boy, and blurts: "Whoa! He's really short!"
--
Oliver steps over to the crowd, petals falling out from his hair occasionally. He seems worried. "Ah... I w-was wondering, if there was anything I could do." He says to Dev and Gab, looking from one to the other. He presses his palms together a bit sheepishly.

Corvus

"Who are you?"

At this sudden question, Corvus' gaze snapped to the one who had posed it. A tall male with brown hair and green eyes. Tilting his head to the side, the shorter teen mulled the question over for a bit before shrugging, arms slightly outstretched. "Me? I'm hardly anyone of interest." His response was in the same blank tone of voice as the question that was thrown at him.

He ignores the small blonde girl's comment on his height, though he was visibly gritting his teeth in his effort to bite back whatever retort was wanting to be set free. Instead his gaze trails over the room once again. "There seem to be a few more people here than the last time I visited. I wonder if anything else has changed..." Blue eyes lingered on the form of the blue-haired teen who was stood a little behind the brunette. The boy was clearly blushing as he watched the brunette and Corvus found himself tilting his head to the side. Why would he be blushing? Was he ill too or something?

By this point, the fox had entered the room and was sitting beside the orange-haired teen, surprisingly calm for being in a room full of people. Corvus narrowed his eyes somewhat as he looked back at the brown-haired teen. Damn it, why did he have to be so tall? "Do you have a problem with my being here, hmm?"

Faye Chalmers

Faye smiled to Cosmo as he fixed the pot she had broken. She was grateful someone could repair her clumsiness so easily.
As she picked up the now fixed pot and placed it back where it belonged, very carefully, afraid it would fall again, she listened as some of the children began to leave for their witch hunt.

She frowned as Cecil left with them, she hoped they would be okay. It was awfully cold outside after all.
Quietly she moved towards the fire to contemplate the events. Has someone made her talk back then? It puzzled her so as she lifted her hands towards the warm fire.

It was then that Lisi brought in the new child, the one she had heard knocking at the door. Faye watched as the twins Dev and Gabe performed their act. She giggled at their eccentric performed and found herself amazed. She was always amazed at the gifts the other children had. Far better than hers, all she could do was walk up walls, as though gravity wasn't an object for her. However when she heard Ash's hard remark to Elise she frowned. It wasn't very polite of the boy to do such a thing.

Suddenly Willow burst into the room shouting about someone being cold? Cecil returned with Sapphire and few companiogns, to her horror a young boy was carried in on Sapphires back. Everyone began trying to keep him warm.

Faye knew she had to help, as Lisi gave the unconscious boy her hat Faye ran past her out of the main room. Skipping the stairs as they would take too long she jumped and connected her feet with the wall running along its surface adjacent to the floor. She hurried quickly to her room. Upon reaching the door she dropped down from the wall and burst into the room.

"blanket... blanket.." she muttered to herself rummaging under her bed. "ah!" she exclaimed upon finding her favorite gray one. It was fluffy and had been with her since she was only 6. It was one of her most treasured possessions, it was the warmest thing she owned. Bundling it together in her arms she quickly left her room and ran back down the stairs along the walls.

As she reached the bottom of the stairs Faye jumped back onto the floor and ran head first into the main room. "oomph!" she rasped as ran straight into something solid knocking her back a few steps. Rubbing her head she looked up to see what she had ran into to find a stranger standing there. He had bright orange hair and a fox was sitting beside him. He wasn't very tall, but then she wasn't very tall either. In fact taking a look he was about the same size as her.

"ah - um I'm so sorry! are you okay?" she said rubbing her head still as she felt her cheeks began to heat up. She was going red from the embarrassment she could feel it.

"I-I wanted to give this to- t-to the boy over there - I-I thought it would help - I was in a rush - I'm sorry" she said stumbling over her words nodding towards the unconscious boy near the fire and gesturing the Gray blanket in her arms. It appeared Dev and Gabe had already looked him over to Faye's relief.

"I-Is he Okay?" she asked peeking around the newcomer to get a better look at the unconscious boy.

Caleb looked on her with gentle eyes, curiously watching and wondering as to why she would make herself look so weak to someone she hardly knew. Perhaps it was a ploy to gain pity and friendship. When she mentioned going, he lifted a hand. "No, stay. I quite....enjoy your presence." he said idly.

Looking at her his eyes narrowed and he gestured to another chair. "Pull up a chair; we'll chat a little longer." he said softly before yawning again. Closer inspection would bring to light the dark circles under his eyes. He'd only arrived not long ago, perhaps he hadn't slept well since then. If at all.

He took in a deep breath and blinked, his eyebrows raising as he roused himself a bit so he could focus better on her. "Aya, right? Tell me....how'd you end up here?" He asked. Idly the mist returned from his sleeve and Nkoe the Tiger Cub appeared again. He'd noted that she liked cats, and wanted to make her a tad more comfortable before she spilled everything he thought he should know at this time.

Nkoe mewed softly before attempting to find his way to her lap again.

  1. I decided to just get Resi involed in all this in order to introduce her. In here we see Resi accidently mistaking Corvus for a girl (Which she finds very funny by the way). And I also went ahead and had her get the idea of everyone going to sleep out there to the children so that this day doesn't last forever. She also tells Oliver that he should be more confident, and then asks the twins if they need anything from the kitchen.

Resi stood up from her desk and stretched, placing a hand against her mouth as a yawn floated past her lips. Looking around her room lazily, the blonde spotted a notepad and pen that she has been using earlier. Picking it up, she examined the half finished list of vegetables that she had been making for her trip with Oliver out to the garden tomorrow morning. They were going out before breakfast in order to pick some fresh vegetables for the kitchen. Gently seating herself once again on her desk chair, Resi decided to finish up the list she had been making.

Normally at this time of day the girl would still be downstairs in the kitchen, making anybody any last minute meals they needed before they headed off to bed. But today some of the younger children and kept her busy since the morning asking her if they could help her make some meals for the other residents. Unable to deny them, Resi had been on her toes all day attempting to keep the children from burning the Residence to the ground. Needless to say, she was a bit exhausted by this point and had informed the children that she was heading to her room. Telling them that if they needed anything to just knock.

Finished with the list, Resi set it aside and rested her chin on her hand. Maybe she'd make omelets for breakfast tomorrow. Resi made a mental note to ask around a bit to see if that was ok with everyone. Deciding that it was probably time to get ready for bed, the girl began to head towards her closet when she was suddenly stopped by a noise downstairs. Straining her ears a bit, she heard what sounded like people rushing into the manor from outside. Curiosity getting the best of her, Resi decided to go check it out.

Making her way down stairs, Resi looked to see that it appeared that everyone was gathered in the living room. Walking over to the doorway, she noticed Faye and a person that she had never seen before blocking the way. The new person had fiery orange hair, and setting her hand on one of their shoulders, she softly asked, "Excuse me Miss, but may I enter the room?"

However, when she got a better look at the person's face, she could barley contain her laughter. It was a man! One of the girl's cheeks puffing out in an attempt to choke back her laughter, Resi looked at the boy with delighted eyes. "Oh dear! Do excuse my mistake! It's just that you have such lovely hair, and such an adorably petite stature!" Looking down at the boy from her elevated height, tears were beginning to form in her eyes from how hard it was becoming not to laugh.

As the girl looked over the boy's head into the living room however, her demeanor quickly turned serious once again. Carefully slipping past the two at the entrance to the room, Resi made her way over to the sick boy laying on the couch. Her eyes filtered over all of the tense looking children that were present in the room. She thought about how late it was getting and let out a tiny nod to herself. "Excuse me everybody. I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news, but it is getting quite late. I believe that it would be best if we all retired for the night." Looking all of the children in the eyes, Resi smiled before gesturing to the unconscious boy and continuing. "This boy isn't going to get any better with all of us just crowding around him. Lets all head to our rooms and give the doctors some room to work." Clapping her hands together in finalization before walking over to the mentioned doctors.

Resi came to a stop at Oliver's side where he stood next to the twins. Reaching out she caught one of the petals fluttering out of the boy's hair before picking it up between two of her fingers and examining it. "Oliver, there is no reason to be so timid. I've told you before that you should be more confident with yourself, haven't I?" Smiling sweetly at the older boy she then turned to look at the other two boys. "I'm sure that Devon and Gabriel would be more then happy to have your help." She said with a reassuring smile, placing the boy's petal back into his hand.

"Speaking of help, do you two think that you'll need anything from the kitchen?" She asked while tilting her head slightly, ready to lend a hand if it was needed.

These people...get very easily distracted... Ash raised a brow. There was so much commotion, they were amazed someone didn't fire a confetti gun every time someone walked through the main door.

Not like there was much of a difference.

Then a young lady brought to their attention that it was good to go off to bed now.

Oh. I don't have anywhere to sleep. I just got here. I guess...I just sleep here? Their eyes started scanning the room. Surely once everyone scattered, this would be much easier, so they simply went and leaned against the wall.

Corvus || Willow || Sapphire Wynters

Half staring intently up at Cecil, Corvus didn't notice someone enter behind him until they ran right into him. Of course, at that moment a dizzy spell just had to hit and not only was he left trying to keep his balance, but the room span in front of him. He slammed a hand over his eyes, squeezing them closed tightly until the light headed sensation passed. And once it had, there was the sound of stumbled apologies from behind him.

Turning, he saw a purple haired girl behind him, of course, she was taller than him too, even if not by much thankfully. "No harm done." He brushed invisible dust from his coat, face almost disturbingly neutral as he watched the girl ramble about wanting to help the ill person.

Which one where they talking about? Corvus followed the girl's gaze as they peered around him, noting that she was watching the kid who was laying on the couch. Oh. Glancing back at the purple haired girl, he gestured toward that kid. "That, and whatever you choose to do are none of my concern."

At the almost cold tone of voice his used, from Sapphire's arms Willow hissed slightly, suddenly turning back into her human form. Wriggling free of Sapphire's grip, she stomped the couple of steps needed to reach the ginger-haired teen, hands on her hips as she glared down at him. "No being mean!"

Looking up at the white haired girl, Corvus lifted a single brow in response, head tilting to the side as a confused look flickered across his face for a moment before settling back into it's usual blankness. "Mean?"

Nodding firmly, the cat-girl bopped Corvus on the head, knocking his hat askew. "Mhm, mean." As Corvus reached up to straighten up his hat, the white haired teen walked over to Faye, ignoring her own currently naked state, and gently grasped the purple haired girl's wrist. "Let's go check on him, meow?"

Staring after the pair for a moment, a frown slipped onto his face. Just as he was about to resume his glaring at the tall brunette, Corvus felt a hand settle on his shoulder. "Excuse me Miss, but may I enter the room?" Turning suddenly, he was about to fire a retort at the person who had dared refer to him as female normally it might not have bothered him but he wasn't in the greatest of moods at the moment. Hearing a huffed laugh behind him, likely from the blue-haired teen, Corvus ignored that in favor of glaring up at the young lady behind him. Of course she was tall too...

"Oh dear! Do excuse my mistake! It's just that you have such lovely hair, and such an adorably petite stature!"

Well, she apologised at least, better than most people he'd met. "I'm not short!" Whatever else he was planning to say died on his lips as the room span in front of him again. This time unable to keep his balance, the orange-haired teen stumbled backwards a few paces.

Not expecting anyone to help him, Corvus was rather surprised when he felt someone catch and help steady him again. Tilting his head back, he looked up into the blue eyes of the male who was blushing earlier. "You alright?" Pulling himself from the other teen's grip, Corvus turned and narrowed his eyes.

"I'm fine."

At the shorter teen's dull toned response, Sapphire rolled his eyes. "Fine, fine. Next time I won't help you then."

As the taller girl behind him suggested that they all head to bed, Corvus turned to leave. He would rather not get caught up in whatever would happen next, and besides, it wasn't as if he would actually be sleeping.

Lisi watched everything unfold with a curious expression. A boy with bright orange hair had walked into the household and almost immediately began arguing with Cecil. When the subject of the boy's height came up, Lisi could only stare at him curiously. He didn't seem that short to her, he was still taller than her after all.

It was while she was staring at this new child that Lisi happened to notice a fox walk into the room and sit down next to him. Her eyes grew big for a second before an idea suddenly hit her. Rushing into the kitchen, Lisi quickly grabbed some pre-sliced apples from the fridge before running out again.

Walking over to the fox, she bent down to it's level before tentatively holding out one of the apple slices. The fox seemed to be a bit underweight, so it happily accepted the offered food. Lisi was wondering if it would be going to far to try and pet the fox when Resi began talking to all of the children about heading to bed soon.

While she was a bit tired from all the running around she had been doing today, Lisi decided that she would stay awake for a little bit longer. Resi and her had adjoining rooms anyways, so she would just head upstairs when the older girl did.

After the fox finished up the apples that Lisi had brought for it, the pink haired girl looked up at the others happily. It was then that she noticed Ash leaning against a wall away from the other children. Standing up and walking over, Lisi tilted her head curiously. "Are you tired? Is that why you're over here by yourself?"

She was about to suggest that maybe Ash go lay down in her room when she suddenly realized that the younger child didn't know where their room was. Lisi didn't even know where their room was. "Oh no! I almost forgot to ask where your room was!"

Grasping the child's hand once more, Lisi carefully pulled them through the crowd of people towards Cosmo. "Uncle Cosmo, have you figured out where Ash will be sleeping from now on?" She asked, using the nickname that she had given the winged man.

Aya couldn't believe her ears for a second. He enjoyed her presence? It had been a long time since anyone had told her something like that. She was honestly pretty surprised that he hadn't taken her up on her offer to leave, or that he didn't at least say something about how weak she was acting. Aya had thought that she was acting dumb, but... maybe she was getting better at holding conversations? No. The fact that she was going through all of this in her head must mean that she was still just as helpless as ever.

Either way, Aya felt her cheeks heat up a bit as Caleb asked her to sit down so that they could continue to talk. Awkwardly complying, she sat down on a chair close to the one that the older boy was settled in. She was busy attempting to get comfortable when his question stopped her dead in her tracks.

She was now shifting uncomfortably as she narrowed her eyes and mumbled a quiet, "Straight to the point, aren't we?". Sighing, Aya propped her chin against her fist as she looked awkwardly around the room. "Why would you care about something like that? It's not like I have a very interesting story to tell anyways..." However, when she saw that familiar mist and heard Nkoe's mewing, she couldn't help but feel that she was being bribed. And it was a pretty darn good bribe.

Quickly scooping the cub into her arms, Aya began to once again play with his fur as she slowly pondered over what she should tell Caleb. "Well... I didn't really favor the conditions that I was having to deal with at home and school. So I ran away." She shrugged her shoulders as if it was as simple as that.

Caleb had proved that he was at least a little trustworthy, but Aya really didn't feel like getting into all the little details with a person that she had just met. Heck, she wasn't even sure if she'd want to get into the details with somebody that she had known her whole life! She had already attempted to tell her parents what was going on once, but all they had done was blame it on her attitude. Aya didn't want that to happen with more people.

Turning her head to look at the boy out of the corner of her eye, Aya hugged the tiger cub against her chest as if Caleb would make him disappear again before she was ready for him to. "What about you?" She asked, thinking it was only fair that he answered as well since he made her do so.

At Oliver's question, Devon whirled around to grab at Oliver's shoulders, clutching the fabric of his shirt tightly in his hands as Gabriel continued to pack up, keeping his back faced towards the flowery boy and his face hidden from view. They ignored the sounds of Cecil talking with the Orange-headed newcomer and general commotion involving said Orange-headed newcomer, and the children surrounding Jaz.

"Yes, Oliver." Devon said gravely, an unnaturally serious look on his face, the expression in his eyes hidden behind his glasses and fringe. The air surrounding them was solemn as a grave, filled with tension. "Yes, there is something you can do for us. Immediately, and with great haste! For it is urgent indeed...

That you find us a camera!"
The tension broke as Devon looked up at Oliver with sparkly eyes, a large grin breaking out onto his lips. Behind him, Gabriel had broken out into laughter, making it evident that he had caught onto his brother's theatrical attempt at humor and went along with it. "Look at that guy! We need to take a picture of this!" Letting go of Oliver, Devon spread a hand out to reveal Jaz, Gabriel adding to the effect with jazz-hands as he knelt beside the couch with an equally large shit-eating grin on his face.

The effect was a bit like watching someone buried under a pile of cloth. Dressed in an ugly looking christmas sweater and surrounded by soft woollen toys the children had thoughtfully given him like sacrifices to the God of Sickness and Illnesses to the shrine-couch and a hot water bottle, Jaz's face was barely visible underneath all the hats jammed on his head. They were stacked on top of each other like building blocks, ending with a woollen white hat with heart designs everwhere that had a fluffy pink bobble on the top that was shaped like a heart, nearly blocking his eyes from view. This in addition with several blankets they'd placed on top of him as if they were trying to reenact a misguided version of Princess and the Pea meant that Jaz was literally covered head to toe. The girl's fire from earlier was still there, radiating heat, but they were surrounded in small bubbles that were a few feet on top of him, created by a boy who's ability could create any kind of bubbles.

It was overkill. It was also completely hilarious. They'd have to undo it later so that Jaz didn't overheat, but that could wait for after they took a picture. Clearly they weren't going to use it for blackmail - that would intend that the picture wasn't going to see the light of day, which it absolutely would.

Grinning, Devon and Gabriel looked at Oliver, making it absolutely certain that they were completely serious about taking a photo of this scene. Gabriel got distracted when Faye ran up to them, adding to the Jaz Shrine of Woollen and Cloth Goods with an item of her own.

"He'll be fine, Faye! He just needs a long rest. He'll probably wake up around the afternoon, if I'm any guess." He said cheerfully, still chuckling a bit. He smiled, patting Faye gently on the shoulder."Thanks for the offer, but I don't think we need it. Currently he's got more than enough blankets, but I think Ash could do with one. Why not try him?"

When Resi appeared and told Oliver to have more courage in himself and that they'd appreciate the help, Devon nodded. "That we would." He said merrily. "And she's right, have more courage in yourself, you're a good guy!"He said warmly, patting Oliver on the back. Then his grin grew wider, nearly maniacal. "But more importantly, camera! A camera to take a photo of this glorious scene before the time to take it is up!"

"Ah, Resi!" Gabriel turned around to face her, attracting her attention. "We don't need anything for now, but could you make something warm and liquidy for this guy in the morning? Like chicken soup or feeds or something. He won't be able to take anything truly solid for a while. Also, I think Ash needs to eat something, not too sure, haha." Gabriel shrugged, looking over at the other newcomer.

"Oi, Orange-head! Want something to eat?!" He yelled. "We could also check you over if you want!"

----------------------------------------

Dennis, meanwhile, had merely given a nod to accept Cecil's thanks after it'd registered and headed over to Rhys, joining him with the other kids. He tapped Rhys on the shoulder, tilting his head questioningly at him. What's up?

Faye Chalmers

As Faye peeked around the orange haired boy to check on the unconscious one. She noticed the orange one begin to sway a little. She automatically began to hold out her hand to steady him when he managed to steady himself

"No harm done." He brushed invisible dust from his coat turning his gaze towards the unconscious boy "That, and whatever you choose to do are none of my concern."

Faye once again felt her cheeks begin to burn as she got a good luck at his face. He was short that much was true, his skin was pale and his eyes were a sharp blue. He had slightly feminine features but his body frame and build obstructed that making him obviously male.

"a-" Faye opened her mouth to respond when suddenly a hissing approaching them. Stomping Willow glared at the new boy her height towering above him.

"No being mean!" Willow frowned at him.

Looking up at the white haired girl, Corvus lifted a single brow in response "Mean?"

Nodding firmly, the cat-girl bopped Corvus on the head, knocking his hat askew. "Mhm, mean."

As Corvus reached up to straighten up his hat, the white haired teen walked over to Faye and gently grasped Fayes Wrist. "Let's go check on him, meow?" Willow spoke to her.

Faye jumped a little at Willow's touch shocked by her confidence. Then as she looked towards Willow redness swelled up onto Faye's face as she noticed how naked Willow was.

"oh - um - yes - sure - okay" Faye tried to look anywhere but at Willow.

Oh my gosh it is so impolite to look!

Faye's thoughts screamed. She did not want to be rude, she mustn't look. She looked back towards the orange haired kid her eyes wide with shock as Willow lead her over to the unconscious boy. She saw Resi enter the room, with a slight smile Faye nodded to the girl. She had always enjoyed the food Resi made, it was wonderful.

"Excuse me Miss, but may I enter the room?" Resi spoke. Faye quickly tried to hold back her laughter however a slight chuckle escaped her lips at Resi's comment.

"oh dear" Faye mumbled with a smile as the orange haired boy began to retaliate. Apparently he had an issue with his height. Faye personally didn't understand why. She was about the same height and quite liked her shortness. It made it easier to hide.

It was then they reached the unconscious boy and Dev and Gab were talking to Dennis about getting a photo.

"He'll be fine, Faye! He just needs a long rest. He'll probably wake up around the afternoon, if I'm any guess." Gabriel said cheerfully, still chuckling a bit. He smiled, patting Faye gently on the shoulder. "Thanks for the offer, but I don't think we need it. Currently, he's got more than enough blankets, but I think Ash could do with one. Why not try him?"

Faye smiled back to him, she had always found the two twins to be amusing, they seemed to bring joy to the house. Curios Faye took at closer look at the boy relieved to hear he was okay. It was then she began to count the many items that had been piled on top of him

"He looks mummified!" Faye exclaimed first surprised but then she began to laugh. "I think a photo would be a splendid idea." She smiled up at the twins and Willow for a moment before quickly averting her gaze again having forgotten for a split second she was naked. "How about we add a cherry just to top him off? We could keep the photo as a keepsake to his first day here" she giggled.

Clutching her blanket she then headed over to Lisi and the first newcomer, he seemed quieter than the orange haired boy. Lisi was speaking with Cosmo so Faye carefully approaching him a little uncertain. "um - here" Faye held out the gray blanket towards him. "I think you could use this more than um - the boy over there" she indicated to the unconscious boy.

That's when she realised she didn't know the names of these new people. "I'm Faye" she hesitantly smiled. "Whats your's?" she said glancing over at the orange haired kid and the unconcious one at the same time. It was unsual to have so many newcomers all at once.

Aaand back came Lisi, fretting that they were tired, deciding that was the reason they leaned against the wall.

No. I'm just waiting for them to clear out so I can find a place to sleep. However, they didn't prompt that. They kept that completely to themselves.

Yet again they found themselves dragged by Lisi, over to Cosmo, and she asked where they were to sleep for the night. She really needed to stop encroaching on their personal space- then again, it was probably that she was too young to realize how invasive she was, despite having rather decent intelligence.

That, or they simply hadn't told her to back off yet. But if they did, they were certain they would never hear the end of it. Well, at least she was convenient to have around, considering that she was the only one who hadn't lost her temper or at least mildly scolded them for their behavior. Ash overheard someone mentioning that they needed to eat something, but whatever appetite they had before was currently being suppressed by the dull maelstrom of emotions caused by the previous situation. So they would rather lie down, even if sleep wouldn't come for a while.

If tigers could purr, Nkoe would definitely be doing so right about now. The cub would be happily mewing and growl/purring into her arms and against her chest and head, nuzzling her lovingly. Caleb only smiled, and looked up at the ceiling as he leaned back while she explained how she ended up in this place. He nodded along to show he was listening.

"I see.....so the same way as me, really...." he said calmly. "Didn't like how things went down back home.....decided "screw it. I don't need'em." he said calmly; of course not revealing the whole truth, himself. He couldn't entrust her with that just yet; it wouldn't make sense. Sighing he looked back to her.

"This conversation has gone...no where....." he said softly. Idly he stretched out and yawned once more.

"No, I have no problems, really. But you're always in and out of here, and it drives me crazy." Cecil narrows his eyes at the other, pointedly ignoring all the commotion happening around him—from Resi asking Corvus to move, to Faye bumping into him. He doesn't seem to have a Magic Book on him, and he seems about Cecil's age... which means he'd be a Wayward Child, too, in need of a home. But he doesn't stay. It bothers Cecil.

"Don't tell me Cosmo hasn't offered you a place to stay. That's against his character. Why don't you wanna stay here?" He tilts his head to the side, pushing up the bridge of his glasses. "... Do you think you're too good for the rest of us here? And by the way, you could do to be a little nicer to Faye."

Strange coming from Cecil. After all, he unintentionally says rude things a lot, as well.

Cecil does, however, listen to one of the Zarzuelas ask Resi to make food, and in addition ask Corvus if he needs food. His stomach growls, and his face darkens slightly, his hand smacking over his stomach. He hopes Resi didn't hear that.
--
Oliver's face flushes red when Devon grabs his shoulders, a few more petals falling from his hair. They needed... his help? With something important...? He straightens up a little and is ready to be receptive of what they say, but what they say is the complete opposite of what he was expecting. They wanted... a camera. The plant boy's shoulders slump, and he lowers his eyelids slightly.

"You want... a camera? To take a picture of him? Isn't that... a little irresponsible? You two are doctors..." He looks away from them, though, and over to Resi. At everyone telling him to be more confident in himself, he blushes. "... I'll try. I guess you're right. The flowers that get the most out of sunlight are the ones that stand up straight, after all."
--
Lucy looks over to Dennis and waves enthusiastically. "Hi! Did you have fun out there? I'm kinda jealous, 'cause I wanted to go out with Cecil, but it's fine. You guys found that body right? Was it scary? I bet it was scary!" She babbles on.
--
"Uwaaaaaah!" Cosmo shrieks out loud, eyes widening. "You're right, you're right! I totally almost forgot! My apologies, my apologies! I apologize!" He ruffles Lisi's hair, a thanks for reminding him, before disappearing and reappearing in the middle of the room. "Listen up everyone! Give me your attention, please, and thank you!" He waits for the commotion to hush before continuing. "I'll now give the new members their rooms. The stairs over there—" He twirls around and points dramatically to a collection of winding staircases leading up into a tower in the corner of the room, wiggling his fingers. "—lead to what I call the 'Wayward Plane'! That's where all the rooms are. All rooms shall be marked with names on the outside, so you absolutely know you're going to the right room—since it may be easy (very easy indeed!) to get lost inside the Wayward Plane. Some of you as you know will have doors leading to another room, which means you have an adjoining roommate! Please do get acquainted if you find yourself with a new adjoining roommate!" At that, he claps his hands twice.

"Disperse, my children!"

At this, some of the other children and teens start to migrate towards the staircases, though a few may stay behind, one of them being Cecil. He steps over to where Cecil is and puts a hand on his shoulder, smiling at Corvus.

"Is there something you need, Corvus? It's rather late indeed, and I wouldn't want to keep you up!"

After going with Faye to see the sick kid and watching the exchange between Faye at the twins, the white-haired teen grinned at Dev and Gab before going into cat form and jumping up next to the unconscious boy. There, she curled up deciding to doze a little. Maybe she would wake up if something happened? Then she could get someone else to help.

"No, I have no problems, really. But you're always in and out of here, and it drives me crazy."

Corvus huffed a soft laugh, looking up at the brunette, head tilting to the side, for not having any problems he seemed to have a problem with him anyway. Shaking his head slightly, he noticed a pink haired girl feeding the fox out of the corner of his eyes. Nodding his thanks to the girl, likely the politest thing he had done all night, he looked down at the fox as it barked, his ability translated that she thought the food was nice but she wanted to leave now.

Crouching down, he ran his fingers through the animal's fur, a true smile slipping onto his face. Eyes darkening in shade, his ability activated and his usual dull tone of voice deepened a little as his next words were translated for the animal. "Just a little longer, Seran." While his ability allowed him to talk to the animals, it merely translated the languages heard by him and the animals, it wasn't as if he could suddenly speak whatever language the animals did. Of course, the downside with that was that anyone could hear what he was saying to the animals, though what they said in reply was for his ears only.

He frowned a little, eyes flickering back to their usual cerulean shade. Where had that come from? He hadn't meant to get so attached to the animal, but he supposed it was a lost cause when the fox came back to him, unlike many of the other animals which scurried off once they'd been amused by him.

"Don't tell me Cosmo hasn't offered you a place to stay. That's against his character. Why don't you wanna stay here?" Standing back up, Corvus watched as the taller male adjusted his glasses before speaking again. "... Do you think you're too good for the rest of us here? And by the way, you could do to be a little nicer to Faye."

"He offered every time I visited, though I hardly think that my reasons for declining are any of your business." He paused for a moment. "Faye... The purple haired girl? I've already been told off for that I think. Though I'm not quite sure I understand..." His gaze flickered first from the girl - Faye - to the girl-turned-cat who was now curling up next to the ill person.

Suddenly someone yelled something at Corvus from near the ill person and looking over he saw twins? One of them had called him orange-head and proceeded to ask if he wanted any food or needed a check over. He shook his head in response, not really caring if it was seen or not. He hardly wanted to raise his voice and draw more attention to himself than there already was. Still, his lips tugged up slightly, a pale imitation of a smile slipping into place. Orange-head, huh? That was a new one, usually people tended to throw less polite things at him instead, so compared to the usual it wasn't so bad he supposed.

Sapphire yawned a little, looking over at Cecil. "As amusing as it is to watch you two, I'm heading to bed now I think. But you will be eating something in the morning, ok?" The blue-haired teen smiled at his friend, gently resting his hand on the other teen's shoulder for a moment before turning to leave the room, narrowing his eyes at the ginger as he passed.

"Is there something you need, Corvus? It's rather late indeed, and I wouldn't want to keep you up!" Shortly after the blue-haired teen had left, it seemed that Cosmo had told everyone to head to bed and now he had come over, a hand on the brunette's shoulder.

Looking at the pair, Corvus frowned ever so slightly, unsure of whether he wanted to say anything in front of the taller teen but figuring he didn't have much of a choice at the moment. Shoulders slumping slightly, he looked up at Cosmo. "I think I'm finally tired... There's not really much else I can see of the world at this point. Is it... Is it alright if I stay here for a while?" He looked down before saying the rest quickly. "It'll only be for a couple of months. I don't want to be a burden and I'm not sure I could handle being in one place for too long..."

Ash's attention flicked over to an offer of a blanket, as Cosmo explained that the rooms had nameplates and that was where they were to sleep. They looked at the blanket, then the girl, and then the indicated boy, before returning to the blanket. They immediately signed no thanks but she probably didn't understand that. They still had the stationary, so they crossed out the second half of what they wrote for Lisi and added No thanks, I think the room will have a blanket. Keep yours.

They simply didn't have the energy to sass or deal with anyone who complained of their sassing. It had been a long day, they would appreciate the silence that came with the night, so they lowered their arm that was holding the paper and began following the others to their rooms.

Maybe Lisi was right- they were tired.
