Instantly she regretted everything, everything except him. She regretted showing him what she really was, getting coffee with him, going back to his house, and then choosing to stay. But she didn’t regret being with him or their kiss. More than anything she was mad at herself for putting him in danger.

"I don't know what you mean. I'm Corey Ryder, and I own the only mechanic shop in town." he said pulling her violently from her thoughts "I can't do anything like what you just did if that's what you're saying." she looked up at his silhouette in the darkness "I should be asking you that question." He said nonchalantly.

Why the hell hadn’t he freaked out? Why was he still standing there? It wasn’t normal behavior for a human. Any normal human would have hit the ground running and freaked out or they would have tried to catch her and lock her up yet, he was still treating her normal.

She was completely freaking out and she knew that if she didn’t get her emotions in check, something bad would happen and he’d be right there to witness it and she was scared she’d hurt him or worse she’d open up the very world he’d been able to guard her from.

“You weren’t supposed to see that.” Her voice was a panicked whisper “I have to go.” She said pulling the door open as she quickly headed for the front door, the light hitting her eyes as she walked into the hall causing her to squint.

Mitchell stood there crossing his arms in front of him, irritated, slowly losing his patients, there was nothing he could think of that could be so bad, that had to be kept such a secret and that made everyone in the god damn town fear her.

"I... I can't." she finally said and he was getting ready to just leave before his temper got the best of him before she spoke again. "I can't tell you because it'd freak you out, and put you in danger, and cause more trouble than I'd like to deal with."

He rolled his eyes as he ran his finger through his hair, he glanced up to her, she was seriously scared to tell him what the big secret was and he was beginning to think if she told him, he really would be assassinated.

“It takes a whole hell of a lot to freak be out.” He said honestly “So I doubt whatever it is would freak me out.” He said frustrated “Listen if you don’t want me around that bad, just tell me don’t fucking play games.” He said rising his voice a bit “Everyone keeps telling me how damn dangerous this family is and how I should stay away, but I don’t how you’re at all dangerous.” He said

It was ridiculous the way everyone treated them like a plague and that if you touched them they’d turn into some kind of monster. In the few hours he’d spent with her he’d kissed her and nothing had happened aside from the fact that he was even more attracted and the kiss was indescribable.

“Try me.” He said challenging her.

“It takes a whole hell of a lot to freak me out. So I doubt whatever it is would freak me out.” He said and she could tell he was getting angry. Bella cursed herself for being born a witch. Why was it that, the one person she actually wanted to tell, she couldn't? And that not telling, might push him away? “Listen if you don’t want me around that bad, just tell me don’t fucking play games.” He said, making her jump as he raised his voice. Did he really thing she was just playing games with him, stringing him along? “Everyone keeps telling me how damn dangerous this family is and how I should stay away, but I don’t how you’re at all dangerous.”

Bella rolled her eyes and sighed. If only he knew the half of it. She could hurt him without so much as blinking. As she stood there, contemplating whether or not to tell him, she could feel her stress rising again, and she knew if she didn't calm down soon, something would happen. She'd have a vision, or she'd start seeing things, or her power would lash out and, whether it was the Dark power in her, or the Light that lashed out, she'd have no control over and that scared her. She had to get control of herself.

“Try me.” His voice was challenging and she held his eyes, sighing deeply and biting her lips hard.

Silence hung there for a long time and she wanted to step away from the door and tell him to leave, because it would be easier for both of them if he wasn't involved with her. He wouldn't be in danger, and she wouldn't have to hide him from everyone in their world. "I'm not..." She hesitated. "Normal."

She held his eyes, not sure how much to tell him, and her fear was clear on her face. "As in, I can do things I shouldn't be able to." She shook her head. "The town's not exactly wrong when they assume the weather is fucked up because of me and my sister. It is." She wasn't sure how to tell him she could use magic without sounding like a total freak, so she just cut straight to it. If his jaw dropped and he called her a liar, she wouldn't blame him. "I'm a witch. So is my sister."

“You weren’t supposed to see that.” Her voice was a panicked whisper and he sighed. Why had she been the one to freak out while he'd stayed calm? And why had he stayed calm? Because he trusted her? Because he'd seen it with his own eyes, and there was no use flipping and denying it? Maybe he'd known there was something supernatural out there all along, he'd just never seen it. “I have to go.”

With that she slipped out of the room and made her way towards the front door. He sighed and rolled his eyes and he took off after her, grabbing her wrist and turning her to fast him.

"Are you sure?" He asked, holding her eyes as he used his grip on her wrist to pull her so close there was a mere sliver of space between them. "I don't want you to go." He whispered softly, looking down at her. "I really don't care what you are, or what you can do." He shrugged. "I like you." He smirked and the urge to kiss her was strong, but he didn't want to, in fear that he'd freak her out again and she'd try to run.

The second he touched her skin, the spark somehow seemed more prominent this time. There kiss had definitely, been more than a kiss. That was obvious by the way he magic had reacted. Before she could pul her wrist away she was facing him again.

"Are you sure?" the small sliver of space made it hard for her to think clearly "I don't want you to go." he whispered causing her to hold his eyes, trying to decide if he was serious or not. "I really don't care what you are, or what you can do. I like you." he said and her eye browns knit.

Was he serious? Why the hell was she the only on freaking out? She knew then he was different. He had a different aura about him, she’d known that from the beginning, but no human had ever reacted so calmly.

She let silence fall between them for a long moment as she took a step back, because she knew if she kissed him again there’d be no way she could leave and she’d just be giving him false hope. She couldn’t be with him no matter how badly she wanted to. She’d already hated herself for trusting someone she’d barley met enough to show them what she was and then she’d kissed him to top it all off.

“I don’t want to leave.” she finally admitted “But, I’ve put you in danger in more ways than one.” She said running her finger through her long hair. “And as much as you claim to like danger…” she trailed off “You have no idea, what I’m capable of or what they will do to you.” She said referring to the other Casters, but she knew he wouldn’t understand who she meant.

It as quite for a long time, but he waited. The way everyone acted around them was stupid and he hadn’t thought much about the rumors. But after the vibe he’d gotten from their god-father and the way he acted, it was more than just rumors.

"I'm not..." she finally said pulling him from his thoughts "Normal." he knit his brows as she waited for her to finish, she held his eyes and he found it hard to pull away even if he had wanted to. "As in, I can do things I shouldn't be able to. The town's not exactly wrong when they assume the weather is fucked up because of me and my sister. It is." he was confused that was for sure and he wasn’t exactly sure what to make of what she was saying. "I'm a witch. So is my sister." she finally said.

Once again it was quite as he watched her, for the most Mitch was a logical thinker. So what she said he knew wasn’t a lie, because it all made since, but he wasn’t exactly sure to what extent it was all true. Witches existed, wiccan was a religion he was familiar with, yet somehow he knew that’s not what she was talking about.

“Prove it.” He smirked looking at her as if wanting to know what she really meant. Whether she meant it as her religion or it was real.

It probably wasn’t how he should have reacted and she was probably expecting him to call her a liar. But he couldn’t bring himself to do that, because there was something so different about her that, he didn’t doubt she wasn’t normal.

It fell silent again, and Bella expected it to take a minute to sink in, and then she expected him to either bust out laughing, or look at her like she suddenly had three heads, or just freak out and run and judge her.

Instead, she was seeing something else crossing his features. She was seeing understanding. Like he wasn't quite sure, but he realized that her explanation was the only one that made any real sense and worked with all the weird things going on with her family, like the way they were treated, or the weather phenomena, or the vibes they gave off.

"Prove it." He finally said and she winced and held his eyes for a long minute.

"I was afraid you'd say that." She sighed softly. "I really don't have a lot of direct control over it. At least, not as much as my sister. She's a little older so she can manipulate it better." She sighed, leaving out the fact that her power was more based on her emotion, or that, as the 85 days remaining until her claiming ticked down, her powers were growing stronger and her control over them was fluctuating from being extremely precise to wildly out of control.

"There are a few things I can do though..." She sighed and glanced at her loft. "Hang on." She went quickly up the metal spiral staircase and slid back the door in the ceiling, popping her head into the room. Over in the corner was a plant that she grabbed before coming back down.

She could do a million things. She could touch him and read his entire story, giving him details only a witch would know, but that was too invasive. She could make him see illusions, but that could too easily go horribly wrong if her black magic decided to block out her light. She didn't want to do anything mental. She might accidentally use her dark side and hurt him in some way.

Instead, she went with a plant. There wasn't much that could go wrong with plants, and, while black magic tended to focus on sinister and manipulative things, light tended to focus on healing, and nurturing.

So she carried the plant over to him and set it on the floor, sitting cross-legged in front of it. Bella glanced up at him, as if asking him with her eyes if he was sure he wanted to see her use magic, before she placed both hands on the side of the pot and looked up at him, holding his eyes. She thought of good things, like her mother, and the way it felt when he kissed her, and her love for her sister and, before too long, there was a soft blue light shimmering between her hands, encompassing the plant, and her black eyes were shining with a multicolored iridescence, a sure sign she was doing it right, and using her light magic.

As she held his eyes, the plant between her hands began to grow, the long vines slowly stretching longer and longer, before finally, she pulled her hands from the jar and they glow disappeared from both the plant, and her eyes, but she didn't take her gaze from his. "Proof enough?" She whispered.

There was a silence between them a minute, as she seemed to be contemplating it, and he waited, holding her eyes. She was clearly thrown by his reaction and he didn't blame her. Most people would flip and not know what to do, but Ryder had done a lot of traveling. Him and his dead fiance had been to some of the most powerful places on earth. He'd never seen anything quite as instant as what she'd done, but, standing in those places of power, he'd been able to sense it.

He'd always kind of known there was something supernatural out there. He went to church when he could, and had read the bible, but he didn't particularly associate himself with religion. The way he saw it, religion was how people explained the strange feeling of power, that alien sense that something else was out there, that they sometimes got because humans tended to need an explanation to everything around them. So, when they couldn't explain it, they tacked a couple of metaphors on and called it religion. They bashed the idea of magic when really, in his mind, they did nothing but worship it.

“I don’t want to leave.” She finally admitted and he sighed, glad to hear her say it, though he sensed a "but" coming on. “But, I’ve put you in danger in more ways than one. And as much as you claim to like danger…” she trailed off and he raised a brow. “You have no idea, what I’m capable of or what they will do to you.”

"Who?" He asked, holding her eyes with a sigh. "Why am I in danger?" He shook his head. "You can leave if you want, I'm not going to force you to stay, though I'd like to, but don't you think that, if I'm in danger I should at least be allowed to know why, and who from?"

"Who? Why am I in danger?" He said holding her eyes "You can leave if you want, I'm not going to force you to stay, though I'd like to, but don't you think that, if I'm in danger I should at least be allowed to know why, and who from?" she sighed as much as she didn’t want him involved, she’d involved him the second she’d agreed to have coffee with him.

He was right, he deserved to know. It would be bitchy of her to show him what she was, let him kiss her, willingly kiss him back, and then walk out without so much as an explanation. She glanced outside as if to make sure there was no one watching.

She knew even though she couldn’t see him, Peirce was there. He hardly left her side, not because he was supposed to be convincing her, but because he was possessive and he was convinced December belonged to him, that was how all black casters were. Aidan was younger, but his feelings would eventually become as obsessive as Peirce was with, Emmie and when a Black Magic caster felt like something they possessed was going to be taken from them they killed to keep it in their possession and that scared her.

Finally she glanced back to Ryder “It’s complicated.” She whispered “My sister and I…we have others constantly watching us and if they feel threatened…they won’t hesitate to get rid of the problem.” She said not wanting to give too much away, but answering his question.

She wonder if she should leave it at that and leave out her nightmares, but if she lost control of her nightmares and he was in the way, he’d be brought into her world and that was potentially more dangerous than any Caster.

“But…I’m really the one that you should be avoiding.” She said honestly “My sister and I…we can do things that other Casters can’t…we can manifest things.” She said with a sigh.

Their mother had been scared of Bella and Emmie’s powers for two reasons. One because they had always been stronger than the other casters and two because Emmie’s nightmares and Bella’s visions lifted the veil between their minds and reality and that was something no other Caster had ever been able to do was to manifest monsters or whole other worlds that they’d created, they could only give off illusions.

She told him to hold on and he watched as she headed up the steps of to her art studio and he waited patiently wondering exactly what she was doing and his curiosity grew as he watched her carry down a plant from the room above them.

She set in down on the ground sitting cross legged in front of him and he wasn’t exactly sure what was going on, but she seemed to know what she was doing so he didn’t question her, he just watched her waiting to see what she’d really meant by witch.

She glanced up at him one last time as if giving him the chose to change his mind and that only intrigued him. He just nodded as if giving her the okay and letting her know he was ready for whatever she was about to do.

She placed her hand on either side of the pot and he watched as slowly a blue shimmering light began to appear, he raised his brow more amused, then freaked out. Her eyes were iridescent and full of color and although that caught him off guard, it still didn’t freak him out, it only made him want to pull out his sketch book and draw her again.

Finally right before his eyes, the plant started to reach out with its long vines, growing into something much bigger. His eyes widened at the sight it was amazing what she could do and he knew then that she was capable of much more and somehow that made him more attracted to her. The glow in her eyes and around the plant began to dissipate.

"Proof enough?" she whispered.

“Yeah.” He smirked, still trying to take in what had just happened he held her eyes for a moment “You know…now that I know…” he trailed off as he looked from the plant back to her “I’m not going anywhere.” He said in a serious tone, it was a promise and he’d even surprised himself when he’d said it to her.

"Yeah." He smirked, and she held his gaze. She could see the amazement in it, but nothing like she'd expected. She'd expected him to be shocked, but also to be frightened, or maybe even cold, or jealous like some humans got. Granted, all she'd done was make a plant grow, she hadn't really done anything sinister or powerful, but she'd done something no human could do and, now that her magic was in the room, she knew he could sense that it was much stronger than she was letting on with this small trick.

"You know... Now that I know..." His words trailed off and she raised her eyebrows, expecting him to go for blackmail or something. Not that she thought he was that kind of person, but she'd never been treated normally like any human, so it was a little hard to force herself to trust him just because it felt good to kiss him, or he was nice to her. "I'm not going anywhere." That surprised her and she winced.

Bella stood with a deep sigh and carried the plant back up to the loft, returning it to it's normal place before coming back down and sitting on the bed, looking down at her hands before up at him where he was standing, then away, staring at the wall with determination on her face. She didn't want to push him away. She wanted to keep him close because in the few hours she'd spent with him, he'd made her feel more normal than anyone on earth.

But she had to do it. She had to scare him and, if her words didn't work, she'd have to show him, though she didn't want to. "You don't understand." She whispered, shaking her head. "Now that you know you should be afraid of me." She sighed and rubbed her arm. "I mean, I know I only made a plant grow, but I can do so much more. I can hurt you. I can drive you insane." She shook her head and brought her eyes to his. "I can make your deepest fears a reality." Trix forced herself to hold his eyes. "And, while I wouldn't want to, or a wouldn't do it willingly, like I said, I really don't have control over it, and it could lash out at any second." Bella bit her lip. "And there's others who you should be afraid of too. People like me who want me for my power and, if you're in their way, they won't hesitate to kill you." She winced. Or use him against her to sway her to a side. However, she left that part out, holding his eyes. "You're in a lot of danger."

“It’s complicated.” She whispered and he sighed, instantly assuming she wasn't going to say anything and leave it at that. He was about to just give in and say goodbye, because he thought it was evident she didn't want to stay, but she kept going.

“My sister and I…we have others constantly watching us and if they feel threatened…they won’t hesitate to get rid of the problem.” He nodded. Her answer was vague, but at least he knew a little more of why he was in so much danger. She hesitated, and he sensed more coming, so he took a step closer, letting her know she could tell him, and hoping she would.

“But…I’m really the one that you should be avoiding.” She said honestly and he raised his eyebrows. “My sister and I…we can do things that other Casters can’t…we can manifest things.” He knit his brows, not totally sure how that was a bad thing before he sighed and ran his fingers through his hair.

"I'm not afraid of you." He smirked and shrugged. "So you don't have to worry about that. If anything, the fact that you're a little dangerous makes me attracted to you even more than I already am." He looked down at her and shrugged with a chuckle. "I'm not usually one to let a woman protect me," he teased. "But if you're powerful, like you say you are, I feel safe around you."

Ember felt stupid for only knowing him for a few hours, yet opening her world up to him, she was practically killing him. Yet at the same time, she’d been holding it in for so long that it felt good to finally be getting it off her chest. Her and her sister had so many rules, so many things they couldn’t do, and they weren’t really ever going to be free, he was the closest, she’d come to feeling freedom.

[b]"I'm not afraid of you."
he smirked and she rolled her eyes "So you don't have to worry about that. If anything, the fact that you're a little dangerous makes me attracted to you even more than I already am." just his closeness set her whole body on fire, it was something she’d never felt with anyone, let alone a human. "I'm not usually one to let a woman protect me, But if you're powerful, like you say you are, I feel safe around you."

She raised a brow, the truth was, she really would have to protect him. Now that Peirce had seen him with her he’d try and get to him, brainwash him into hating her or worse hurt him. She closed her eyes for a moment letting it fall silent, before she opened her eyes glancing back to his and holding his gaze.

“You really should be afraid.” She sighed. She honestly couldn’t believe how calm he was about her and she had a feeling that was part of the reason she was so strongly drawn to him, because he was different. She glanced past him, outside to see the rain was starting to clear up and the thunder and lightning had died down, which meant both her and Bella were in slightly better moods.

“Ryder.” She whispered his name. “I like you, because you’re not scared, but I don’t trust myself around you.” She said finally forcing herself to look away.

Her and Bella had always been alone, it was something they’d gotten used to and it was a curse, they were meant to be alone forever, it was their own personal hell and they’d accepted that. Emmy had accepted it long before her sister and she’d done her best to stay away from humans, but Ryder made her question everything and she hated that.

“It’s just better if you stay away.” She sighed “I’ll stay for now, because your right I don’t have to leave and if I’m being honest, I don’t want to…but after today, we can’t see each other again.” She said calmly.

"You don't understand." he sighed, sitting down in front of her. "Now that you know you should be afraid of me. I mean, I know I only made a plant grow, but I can do so much more. I can hurt you. I can drive you insane." he didn’t interrupt, he held her eyes, continuing to listen. "I can make your deepest fears a reality. And, while I wouldn't want to, or a wouldn't do it willingly, like I said, I really don't have control over it, and it could lash out at any second." He watched her calmly "And there's others who you should be afraid of too. People like me who want me for my power and, if you're in their way, they won't hesitate to kill you. You're in a lot of danger."

As much as he knew he should be scared by the way her voice sounded, he wasn’t at all scarred he had a feeling that would piss her off, but there was just something about her that made him really want to be around her and he hated the fact that he couldn’t explain it, because it was simple he’d never wanted to be around a girl as much as he wanted to be around her.

“No, I think the problem is that I do understand.” He sighed running his fingers through his hair. “Anyone who can do what you just did, whether it was small or not, is obviously capable of a hell of a lot more than just making a plant grow.” He said continuing to hold her gaze.

She didn’t have to show him how powerfully she was, because he could feel it. Her power hadn’t gone away, it lingered in the air and it was thick and heavy. He let it fall silent for a long moment as he pulled out a pack of cigarettes and lit one, raising it to his lips and inhaling deeply, before offering her one.

“Listen babe.” He started “I’m not scared of you, there are obviously things about you that are different.” He shrugged “And darker, I feel that.” He said honestly “But the truth is I really don’t give a shit.” He took another long drag of the cigarettes “But, if you really don’t want me to stick around, I won’t.”

Mitch was never one to pry into someone’s business and he never out stayed his welcome. As much as he wanted to spend all his time with her, he had a feeling she wasn’t going to let him. She’d push him away and there was nothing he could do about it.

“And just for the record, there’s nothing you could possibly do to me, that could be worse than my father.” He tone was honest, because the truth was his father was his worst nightmare, he was scared of much more than that.

Bee watched as he sat down and sighed, running her fingers through her hair, knowing he was about to make it difficult. She wanted him to leave so badly, because she knew she'd end up hurting him, but there was also something else about him that was freaking her out. She would never admit it, but it scared the living hell out of her that she was so attracted to him. When he'd kissed her, she hadn't been able to break away, no matter how hard she'd tried and that scared her. He was the kind of person she could get attached to, and she couldn't run that risk. Because, as soon as she was Chosen for a side, she'd be leaving. She couldn't allow herself to make attachments. Least of all, to humans. They were so disposable and fragile. If she let herself get attached, and he got hurt, then where would she be?

“No, I think the problem is that I do understand.” He sighed, pulling her from her thoughts. “Anyone who can do what you just did, whether it was small or not, is obviously capable of a hell of a lot more than just making a plant grow.” He said and she bit her lip, wishing he knew the half of it. There were things she could do that she had yet to discover, and she wasn't in control of her power. She could lash out on accident and seriously hurt him, and the scary part was that, the dark side of her might enjoy it. She might not be able to stop herself.

Trix watched as he pulled out a pack of cigarettes, lighting one, before offering her one. She sighed and sat next to him, taking one and lighting it, taking a long, slow drag as she closed her eyes and listened to him. “Listen babe.” He said, causing her to raise an eyebrow as she opened her eyes and blew out the smoke. She'd never been fond of pet names like babe or baby. “I’m not scared of you, there are obviously things about you that are different. And darker, I feel that.” He said and she bit her lip, knowing he could feel things about her that humans couldn't feel about an average witch, because of how strong she was.

“But the truth is I really don’t give a shit.” Belle sighed and raised the cigarette back to her lips, irritated as fuck that he couldn't just be like a regular human and freak out when he saw what she could do and call her a satanist, and try to save her or burn her, or read the bible to her. “But, if you really don’t want me to stick around, I won’t.” Bella raised her eyebrows at this and looked at him. He didn't seem like the type to willingly back down. “And just for the record, there’s nothing you could possibly do to me, that could be worse than my father.” Bee winced and took a drag from her cigarette.

"Don't." she said, shaking her head. "Don't tell me your fears or your secrets." She whispered. "It's dangerous if I know too much about you." She said honestly because, while she could figure things out through her power if she wanted to, by touching him or reading his mind, the less she knew, the safer he was. If she got emotional and her power lashed out at him, she'd use his weaknesses against him. She'd use his fear of his father, and make him relive whatever it was he'd done to him. If she didn't know his weaknesses, he had a chance. Not much, because she was still powerful as shit and could still figure things out without having to be told, but it was something.

Belle sighed and ran her fingers through her hair, frustrated with herself for not being able to simply throw him out of her house. She could cause a hurricane with just an angry thought, but she couldn't seem to get rid of him. He was giving her an out, but part of her didn't want to take it, and it was unbearably annoying, because she'd spent her entire life locking people out. What was so different about him? That was the thing. She wanted to know. Why did he have the ability to get her so worked up?

She'd just shown him her deepest secret after having only known him for a day, and yet, all she could think about was the way she'd felt when he'd kissed her. What the hell was wrong with her? Bella sighed and rubbed her temples, starting to feel a headache come on. "I'm not used to this." She finally whispered, putting out the cigarette and dropping her face into her hands with a sigh. "My entire life, it's been my mom, my sister, and me." Her voice wavered when she spoke about her mom, but she caught herself and cleared her throat. Bee sighed and dropped her hands from her face, looking at him. "I don't want you to go, but I know you can't stay either." She sighed.

Ryder watched as she closed her eyes and it fell silent between them, though he didn't bother her. Just waited until she opened her eyes again and let her gaze hold his. “You really should be afraid.” She sighed and he raised his eyebrows, about to tell her that he wasn't when she spoke again.

“Ryder.” She whispered his name and it caused him to take a step closer to her. “I like you, because you’re not scared, but I don’t trust myself around you.” She said finally and he sighed as she looked away. “It’s just better if you stay away. I’ll stay for now, because your right I don’t have to leave and if I’m being honest, I don’t want to…but after today, we can’t see each other again.”

Ryder sighed and watched her for a minute, before finally speaking. "Alright, deal." He said, taking her hand and pulling her close, all he wanted to do was kiss her again, but he could tell she was freaking out, and she'd already said she didn't want to see him again and, while he didn't exactly believe she was doing it just because she didn't want to see him or she didn't like being around him, he didn't want to push her. "But if you ever get lonely, you know where I work, and you know where I live." He smirked down at her and kissed her forehead before letting her go and taking a step back. "I like spending time with you, but I get it." He shrugged.

[b]"Alright, deal."
he said taking her hand and pulling her closer, his touch was incredible against her skin and all she wanted to do was kiss him again. Everything about his was incredible and that scared her. The one thing that was normal for once, somehow scared her more than her nightmares.

"But if you ever get lonely, you know where I work, and you know where I live." She closed her eyes when he kissed her forehead, it was weird to have a human treat her normal for once. "I like spending time with you, but I get it."

His words made her sigh and she took a step back. He really didn’t get it. He didn’t know how dangerous she actually was or the fact that she was ten time more dangerous, when her sister was around, because they’d always been stronger together. And how the hell could she ever explain that there was a whole other world that was divided and they were both fighting over her and her sister. Just thinking about it made her feel crazy, she couldn’t imagine having to explain it.

She looked up at him, she hesitated before closing the space between them again, she knew it was stupid and she knew just outside Peirce or any other caster could be watching, but she couldn’t stop thinking about the way his lips felt against her, because where it would make others feel like magic really existed, it made her feel normal for once and she loved that.

She wrapped her arms around his neck placing her lips to his kissing him, like she’d disappear into thin air if her lips weren’t against hers. She lend into his lips closing the last sliver of space between them.

She moved next to him, taking a cigarette he’d offered and letting it. He watched her as she inhaled. He couldn’t believe, he’d drawn her or that he’d let her in that much already. Not even Savannah who he’d been dating on an off knew he could draw, nor had he ever wanted to draw her.

"Don't. Don't tell me your fears or your secrets." She whispered, pulling him from his thoughts causing him to take another drag off his cigarette and fix his eyes on it as it dangled from his fingertips. "It's dangerous if I know too much about you."

He just sighed, running his fingers through his hair, lifting the cigarette to his lips again and inhaling letting out a puff of smoke, watching as it dissipated. Even as they sat there in silence and he could hear that the rain outside had slowed, it wasn’t an awkward silence. It was comfortable, even just sitting near her.

"I'm not used to this." her quite voice, made him glance up at her. "My entire life, it's been my mom, my sister, and me." he didn’t miss the way her voice faltered when she spoke about her mother. "I don't want you to go, but I know you can't stay either." he sighed at the same time she did.

He didn’t answer right away, he let it fall silent again as he finished his cigarette before putting it out. They were both screwed up, only hers was different then his, yet he could still feel her pain and he wasn’t sure if that was because of her power or the way her voice sounded, but he assumed it was a little bit of both.

He pulled her into his lap gently, it was not something he’d ever done with a girl, but for some reason it felt right with her and just touching her, sparked heat on his skin. He held her against him, everything still fresh in his mind. Everything they’d told each other and everything she’d showed him, but he’d easily forgot all of it the second she was in his lap.

“Alright I won’t tell you anything…about me.” He smirked, before letting it go quite for another moment. “I’ll stay as long as you want” He whispered “And, I’ll leave when you ask. But I’ll always be around.” He voice was quite as if they were in a room full of people, but his words were only meant for her.

It was silent for a while, and Bella pulled her eyes off him. Part of her was glad that he wasn't like others. That, instead of weird and eerie, he found her interesting and intriguing. That he wasn't afraid of her power. However, another part of her was frustrated with the fact that he was drawn to her, because she wanted things to stay the same. Sure, she wasn't a fan of being alone all the time, but being alone was easier than caring about someone and then hurting them. She hadn't exactly had an easy life, and she hadn't been happy all the time, but she'd had a plan for survival, and breaking away from it scared her.

His hands on her pulled her from her thoughts and he gently pulled her into his lap, surprising her. Looking at him, she hadn't thought he could be so gentle, but she didn't fight it. He held her against him and she let him. His body was warm on hers, and she could feel his heart beating in his chest. For some reason, his touch calmed her jumbled, confused mind, and quieted her conflicted emotions, easing her headache instantly.

How could a human have such an effect on her? She understood why she was having an effect on him. Her power was either repellent or magnetic, so it made sense that he had strange feelings about her, but why was his touch able to soothe her in a way only art had ever done for her? It made no sense to her. He was a human. She shouldn't be attracted to him. Not only was it wrong, but dangerous, and yet she was.

"Alright, I won't tell you anything... About me." He said, pulling her from her thoughts and she sighed and closed her eyes, listening to him. "I'll stay as long as you want." His words were a calming whisper that erased everything in her mind but his arms around her, his body against hers, and the sound of his voice, speaking to her gently, like he was telling her something he didn't want anyone else to hear, despite the fact that it was just the two of them. "And, I'll leave when you ask. But I'll always be around."

They were hardly touching. He was merely holding her in his lap, and yet, to Bella, the moment felt intimate. She'd only known him for a few hours, and she already felt connected to him. Bee sighed. "You're drawn to me because of my power." She whispered, opening her eyes so she could look at him. "It's not fair to you."

Ryder watched her sigh and take a step back, looking like she was thinking deeply. He didn't disturb her, but watched her face as she thought. She seemed conflicted, and upset, and he knew it was about him. He'd only just met her, but he could tell she wasn't used to interacting with people. Or, more accurately, human people. She was uncomfortable, and afraid, which seemed odd to him. She'd just showed him that she had amazing power and yet she wasn't sure about him. He should be the one freaking out and afraid, but for some reason, he wasn't. He didn't fear her even though he knew he probably should. What he feared was never seeing her again. Which was weird, seeing as he'd only known her for a little while.

Finally, she seemed to come out of her thoughts and look up at him. She looked like she wanted to do something, but hesitated before closing the space between them, making him smirk as he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her in close. It felt way too good to have her in his arms. Better than it had felt to hold his ex fiance, which didn't seem right, seeing as he'd loved her, and he'd only just met December, but he had a feeling it had something to do with her power.

December wrapped her arms around his neck and pressed her lips against his. He smirked against them, feeling a rush of heat and electricity as she closed the last bit of space between them, pressing their bodies together. He kissed her harder, not wanting to stop, wanting more, though knowing he should, seeing as they'd only known each other for a few hours. His lips moved from hers, trailing along her jaw and neck, as he took a few steps back, pushing her against the wall, holding her tighter.

He kissed her back hard, causing her to smirk against his lips. He’d kissed Peirce several times. He was in love with he, he’d never tried to hide that, but somehow Ryder’s kiss was a million times better than a black magic caster’s and she wasn’t exactly sure how that was possible, but she didn’t care.

He broke their kiss only to move his lips along her jaw line and neck setting every inch of her body on fire. Her head was spinning from the way his kiss felt against her skin. He pushed her against the wall, holding their tightly, she flicked her eyes up to meet his gaze, trying to read whether his feeling were real or if he was just drawn by her magic, either way she wasn’t sure she really cared at the moment.

It was just nice to finally have someone treat her normal and she knew it was stupid to let him in so quickly, but for the moment his kiss made her forget everything. She quickly pulled on of her wrists away, slipping her hand under his shirt and pulling him closer against her as she smirked against his lips.

A part of her was scared she’d hurt him, she had spent her whole life learning to control her powers, but every now and then she’d lose control and her and Bella were getting stronger the closer it got to them being chosen. She tried to push the though from her mind as she moved her lips along his jawline, slowly.

Holding her was incredibly calming, he could hold her forever. In fact just being in the same room as her made him somehow forget everything in his shitty life and only focus on the good. Whether it was her power or just her, he didn’t care. He knew she was powerful, that much she’d proved with her small trick, yet somehow he could care less about her powers.

"You're drawn to me because of my power." he sighed at her words, because he wasn’t so sure that was the truth of it. "It's not fair to you."

What if it was just her powers? The thought struck him, though he quickly pushed the thought away, because no matter what it was the only thing he knew for sure was he wanted to be around her and he hoped that she wanted the same. Though he had a feeling at one point she’d push him away and the thought was frustrating.

“Bella.” He started in a softer tone. “I really don’t thinks it’s your power.” He said simply running a hand through his hair. “Despite what you think and how other humans have treated you, I’m not like them.” He explained. “I liked you before I knew you were a…witch.” he smirked pulling her closer and pressing his lips to hers.

It was quiet for a second before he spoke. “Bella.” He started, tone soft, causing her to relax against him. “I really don’t think it’s your power.” He said and she closed her eyes, wanting to believe him, but not sure she could. “Despite what you think and how other humans have treated you, I’m not like them.” He went on and she knew that was true. There was something way different about him. “I liked you before I knew you were a…witch.”

Bella sighed and was about to push him away and insist that he only wanted her because the magnetic pull of her power, wanting to be difficult, because being difficult was her nature.

However, before she could speak, he pressed his lips against hers, stealing her words from her and setting her whole body on fire. It seemed like, everytime he kissed her, it became more and more impossible to pull herself away. She leaned into him, everything in her wanting more as she slipped her hands under his shirt and moaned against his lips.

She'd been kissed before, by both Benji and Aiden, and both of them had different effects on her, but if you added them and multiplied them, it would never match the way he made her feel. Aiden brought out the darkness in her while Benji brought out the light, but Mitch made everything inside her react, the entirety of her power making the kiss more intense.

Ryder smirked against her kiss when she pulled her wrists out of his grip and slipped her hands under his shirt. Her fingers on his skin made his body tense. Something about her made him feel better than anyone ever had, and it was absolutely intoxicating.

Her lips moved away from his and moved along his jaw slowly, making him reach up under her shirt and pull her harder against him. He smirked and kissed her lips again, kissing her hard, wanting her more and more the longer they kissed.

His hands slid up her spine, reaching her bra strap before hesitating and pulling back, looking down at her. He was flushed, he knew that, and there was nothing more he wanted than to go further, but he didn't want to rush her. "We just met today." He whispered, but didn't make a move to pull his hands from under her shirt or step away from her, unable to.

Her fingers traced the waist band of his jeans teasingly as he kissed her lips again, causing her to smirk against his lips and let out a soft moan. He slipped his hands under her shirt causing her to shiver and his touch, he paused getting ready to unstrap her bra, he broke their kiss pulling away causing her to sigh.

"We just met today." he whispered, but he didn’t pull his hands away.

He was right they’d only met a few hours ago and they were already seconds away from spending the rest of the day in bed. There was a knock at his door bringing her from her thoughts and she suddenly had a really bad feeling. She could feel dark energy, her to close her eyes.

“Shit.” She breathed, keeping her eyes closed. Finally after a few seconds she opened her eyes and held Ryder’s. “He’s here.” She whispered knowing he wouldn’t understand it. “Please, let me handle this.” She kept her voice low.

She pushed passed him without explain anything else as she headed over to the door and she hoped Ryder would just stay put. She took a deep breath before opening the door only to revel Peirce. There was a wicked smirk on his face as she glared back at him. No doubt he could feel the energy, from the way Ryder made her feel.

“Is this a bad time?” He said calmly. Making his voice loud enough for Ryder to her. Yes. December thought to herself, but she shook her head answering his question. “Perfect. Well, I just came to introduce myself.” He said pretending as if he didn’t know her, pushing past her and entering the house as if he was an old friend of Ryder’s. He headed straight for Ryder, offering his hand.

“I’m Peirce La’Rouge.” He said casually “Your new neighbor.” His words made December’s heart stop. As she glanced to Ryder’s neighbor’s. Had he killed the previous occupants, just to fuck with her and keep Ryder close. Shit. she cursed herself, this was all her fault. She shouldn’t have answered the door, she’d had a block around his house but answering the door, was like inviting a vampire into your house.

Peirce please. December begged in a voice that only he could hear. He turned to face her closing the distance between them, his dark eyes on her and she forced herself to hold them.

I don’t think you’ve ever begged. he replied and she knew to Ryder it would look like they were just staring at each other. This is wrong December he spat harshly Leave or I’ll kill him. he said darkly.

Fine she said finally looking away from him, hating the fact that just because he was in the same room as him and his black magic was so strong that she could feel herself losing control of herself.

He smirked against her lips as she lend into him. Her kiss was unlike anything he’d ever felt and the only way he could describe it was poisons and enticing at the same time. Everything inside his body was hyper active and his scenes were heightened, it was like being on drugs.

He smirked as she moaned and slipped her hands under her shirt making him shiver. Everywhere her skin touched his, was on fire, in all honesty he wasn’t sure it was all real, because it was hard to believe that she could break down all the walls he’d build up, with a single touch he wanted to give her all of him.

He took a fist full of her hair in his grip to hold her in the kiss, even though he knew he didn’t half to. He couldn’t explain it and he knew it had to be from her powers, but he could feel and almost taste her emotions, just from their kiss. His lips moved from her lips along her jawline, down her neck until they came to her collar bone and he pulled away finding her eyes. In the silence of her bedroom, he could have sworn he heard bother their heartbeats sync, making one single rhythmic beat and he searched her eyes wondering if she’d heard the something, because he’d heard it perfectly and a part of him wonder if it was a side effect from the weed he’d had earlier but it had only been one joint.

He wasn’t sure what that meant if it was real or if it happened all the time with witches, but he didn’t want to waste any more time thinking about it because he missed the way her lips felt and so he pressed his lips to her again, kissing her hard, slipping his tongue past her lips.

Belle's heart was beating harder than it ever had before. She wasn't totally sure what she was doing. He was human, she'd only just met him, she hadn't even let Benji or Aiden in her bed, who were both Casters and had known her for years, and yet she wanted Mitch so bad it hurt, and she knew if he kept going, she'd never be able to stop herself.

His hand reached up and gripped her hair tightly, like he was afraid she was going to break away and it made her smirk against his lips because there was no way in hell she could break away. He moved his lips away from hers and made his way lower, along her jaw, and neck, tracing her collar bone.

Bella's heart was beating so hard she was sure he'd be able to feel it as he kissed her, until he pulled away. His eyes met hers and time seemed to pause for a second as the only sound she could hear was the loud pounding of her heart, like a pulsing drum beat. Or maybe it was his. Or both. She wasn't sure

Bella tried to make her heartbeat slow down enough, wondering if she should take the opportunity to push him off, though she really didn't want to. It was so horribly wrong. It went against everything she'd been raised to believe. And yet it felt so damned good.

Before she had too much time to think about it, his lips were on hers again, kissing her hard, slipping his tongue into her mouth. Bee tilted her head and leaned harder against him with a moan. Her fingers found the edge of his shirt, but hesitated. His kiss had her so trapped, it took all her willpower to conjure up that small second of hesitation, but it was gone as soon as it had come and she broke their kiss for a second to pull his shirt off before pressing her lips against his again fiercely. Her whole body was on fire and she trailed her fingers down his chest as her lips left his to move along his jaw, leaving fast, hot kisses on his skin.

Ryder watched as she thought about it for a minute before a knock at his door interrupted them and he cursed. If it was Madi, he'd probably fucking kill her. There was no way he was in the mood to deal with her bullshit.

“Shit.” December breathed in his arms and he looked down at her to see her eyes were closed. “He’s here.” She whispered and he raised his eyebrows. So she knew who was at the door and clearly wasn't thrilled about it. He sighed. At least it wasn't Madi. “Please, let me handle this.” She said, eyes begging and he watched as she broke away from him and went to the door.

He leaned on the back of the couch, watching her as she opened it to reveal a man he'd never seen before, but, judging by the shift of the energy in the air, December clearly did.

“Is this a bad time?” He asked casually and Ryder rolled his eyes. “Perfect. Well, I just came to introduce myself.” He said as he pushed past her, into the house, his house, uninvited and held his hand out to him.

Ryder looked down at his hand, then up to him, raising his eyebrows. He didn't like this guy, there was something irritating about him. So he didn't shake his hand right away.

“I’m Peirce La’Rouge.” He said casually like it was normal to just walk into a strangers home and introduce yourself. “Your new neighbor.” That made his eyebrows shoot up, and he looked at him for a second longer before finally shaking his hand, probably a little harder than he should have.

Something seemed to suddenly pull Pierces attention from Ryder, and he watched as he met December's eyes and crossed the room, holding them for a long time in a silence that made him uncomfortable so he cleared his throat. "Right." He said skeptically. "I didn't know the O'Brians or Finch's were moving." He said. "And I'm also pretty sure I don't remember inviting you in." He said rudely, not really caring that December seemed to be upset by the guys presence.

December knew that Peirce’s threats were never empty; if she didn’t leave he’d follow through with it. She’d just meet Ryder, yet she was so strongly drawn to him and if he were any other human, normally she’d careless, in fact she’d watched Peirce hurt other Humans right in front of her and she’d never even flinched, but Ryder was different.

"Right." His voice pulled her from her thoughts. "I didn't know the O'Brians or Finch's were moving." she flicked her eyes to Ryder before looking back to Peirce. "And I'm also pretty sure I don't remember inviting you in."

“Oh you didn’t invite me in.” He said ignoring Ryder’s tone, but he kept his eyes on Ember “She did.” December closed her eyes, hoping and praying Peirce wouldn’t try anything, because if he did, she’d be forced to fight back and protect Ryder and that would open a whole new can of worms, protecting a human was not something witches did.

“I should get going.” She finally said glancing to Ryder, there was an apologetic look in her eyes. She sighed as she turned without another word and headed out the door, pulling the keys to her car out of her pocket. She wanted to stay, but she knew she couldn’t not with Peirce there and now that he knew she had some kind of feelings for him, it was going to be hard to pretend he didn’t matter.

Peirce turned back to Ryder with a smirk. “She’s quite beautiful isn’t she.” His tone was dangerously dark as if telling Ryder to stay away. “I’ll see you around, Corey.” she said purposely using his real name.

“Non puto te usuris magnus in homine probet.” ( I don't think the big man would approve of you taking interest in a human.) Peirce’s voice caused her to drop her keys, she glanced up seeing him on the porch, he was speaking to her in Latin, a language that all her spells were written in ad a language used mostly by the ancient witches.

“Fuck off Peirce.” She spat before picking up her keys quickly and getting in her car as fast as possible. All she wanted to do was spend time with Ryder, but now she wasn’t sure she’d get to see him again and she feared if she tried, Peirce would kill him.

He smirked against her lips when she moan against his, satisfied with that fact that she was feeling the same way about him. He broke their kiss only to slip his shirt off before she pressed her lips back to his and he kissed her back hard and passionately. Her fingers trailed down his chest making him shiver and she second her lips touched his jawline leaving hot kisses he let out a low moan.

He still could understand how kissing her felt so good, because normally when he was with girl, he felt nothing, he had no intent to stick around and he knew he’d break their heart. But, with Bella, as cheesy as it sounded he could spend forever with her and the last thing he wanted to do was hurt her, yet he knew he still would because that’s how he kept people from getting to close and hurting him.

His phone rang from inside his pocket and at first he tried to ignore it, but he knew who it would be, because he hadn’t made it to his community service and they would have called by now. He sighed pulling his phone from his pocket, his suspicion was proved right it was his mom. He glanced to Belle apologetically.

“I’m sorry, I have to take this.” He said regrettably. Without another word he answered his phone and on the other end was his mother’s disappointed voice asking him why he hadn’t shown up. “Mom.” He tried, but she just continued so he listened. “Yeah…I’m on my way.” He finally said hanging up the phone.

His mom was pissed, that much was obvious, but she had every right to be. Mitch had fucked up so many times, he was surprised the court had even given him community service as an option considering his reputation.

“Listen Bella, as much as I would love to stay, if you ever want to…if I ever want to see you again, I have to leave now.” He sighed running his finger through his hair. “Or else my mom’s going to kill me.” He shook his head irritated that he couldn’t stay.

Bella smirked at the sound of his moan, moving her lips from his jaw, down his neck, fingers tracing circles along his chest as she did so. She was seconds from pressing her lips back to his and pushing him back on the bed when his phone rang.

The noise broke through her conflicting thoughts of wanting him and not wanting to go to far just enough for her to hesitate some, giving him time to pull away from her, leaving her breathless and flushed. “I’m sorry, I have to take this.” He said, sounding upset and she tried to slow her breath as she nodded and climbed out of his lap, watching as he answered the phone while her mind cleared and what she'd almost just done with him hit her hard. “Mom.” Mitch's voice surprised her because he sounded guilty and upset. “Yeah…I’m on my way.” He said as he hung up.

“Listen Bella, as much as I would love to stay, if you ever want to…if I ever want to see you again, I have to leave now.” He sighed and she nodded. “Or else my mom’s going to kill me.” He said and she was surprised because he clearly wasn't the kind of guy who listened very easily, which she figured meant his mother meant a lot to him. Which she understood. Belle wasn't exactly the best at taking orders, but, it there had been one person in the world she didn't want to disappoint, it was her mother.

"Alright." She whispered and, while most of her didn't want him to go, she was a little happy that he was leaving when he was, otherwise, she'd be way too tempted to go farther than she really wanted to with him, and they ran the risk of Ben or Aiden showing up at any time.

Bella leaned over and kissed his lips one more time, being sure not to keep it quick so she didn't get sucked in again before pulling back with a sigh. "You'll have to drive me to school tomorrow though." She said, looking over him with a smirk. "If you don't remember, we kind of left my car at the school."

“Oh you didn’t invite me in.” He said, keeping his gaze locked on December. “She did.” He rolled his eyes, about to spit back that he definitely didn't remember either if them telling him he could come in when December spoke.

“I should get going.” She said, looking at him apologetically and Ryder sighed, figuring this had to be one of the "people" she'd said were dangerous.

He watched as Peirce turned back to Ryder him with a smirk. “She’s quite beautiful isn’t she?” He said, and it sounded more like a threat to him than a compliment to Ember. “I’ll see you around, Corey.” He said, thoroughly pissing him off.

With that, he finally left, leaving him alone in the room, though, he could see through the window, the two of them were clearly still on the porch, talking for a second before he headed out to her car. He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair, wanting to run out to her and beg her to stay, though knowing he couldn't.

By the time Emmy got in her car, Peirce had disappeared and she speed off quickly. Her heart was beating so fast she thought it might explode, now not only did she have her sister and her godfather to worry about, but now she had Ryder to worry about and there was no doubt in her mind, Peirce would use him in her nightmares or worse try and get her to lose control of her powers and hurt Ryder.

She didn’t remember most of the drive back home, but as she pulled up she knit her brows in confusion seeing a motorcycle pull out, but she had too much on her mind to worry about it. He was human that much she could tell or the scare in her hand would be burning. She pulled up the long driveway before cutting the ignition.

She rested her head against the steering when. Why the hell was she so damn stupid. She spent her whole life being careful and cautious, yet in a matter of hours Ryder had changed everything. Her scare started to burn, but it was lighter than it normally was and not as painful. If it was Peirce she’d probably kill him.

“Are you alright Dess?” the voice was soft and instead of scaring her like it should have it calmed her completely and her heart slowed from its frantic beating.

“So you are real then?” she whispered, keeping her head against the steering wheel. She didn’t have to look to see who it was. “You’re not just a dream.” She sighed.

“I’ve always been real. It’s just that I try and stay away from Peirce, he doesn’t know I’m your light guardian, if he did he’d try and kill me.” He shrugged “And I’d rather not have to fight him, it’s just easier to see you when he’s preoccupied.” He sighed and Dessie sat up glancing over to the passenger seat where Casper sat.

“Right.” She said simply hating that fact that the light acted as thought they were trying to help when in fact they were no better than the dark, they wanted Bella and December just as much for their own selfish reasons as the dark.

Mitchell really didn’t want to leave, but if he didn’t get home he was pretty sure his mother would call his probation officer and he’d be in jail faster than he could apologize to her, so it was really his only option.

"Alright." Bella said her voice a mere whisper as she lend over and kissed him. He wanted to continue what they didn’t get to finish earlier, but he knew that wasn’t going to happen so he simply kissed her back. "You'll have to drive me to school tomorrow though." she added causing him to match her smirk "If you don't remember, we kind of left my car at the school."

“Oh perfect.” He laughed “Will be the talk of the whole school tomorrow, not only did you go home with Savannah’s ex, but it will also look like we spent the night together.” He teased. He stood up leaning back down to give her one last kiss before grabbing his stuff and letting himself out.

Arthur gave him a look that said he still didn’t believe the excuse Bella had given him, but he didn’t stop him either. Once outside he hoped on his bike and headed down the driveway. He didn’t bother to acknowledge the Black BMW that had its blinker on waiting to too pull in, he figured it was Trix’s sister.

He drove faster than he should, getting home in half the time. He took a deep breath before heading inside preparing himself for whatever lecture he was going to get from his mother and he’d half to force himself to be patient with her and not argue.

“Oh perfect.” Mitch laughed and she smiled. “We'll be the talk of the whole school tomorrow, not only did you go home with Savannah’s ex, but it we'll also look like we spent the night together.” He teased and she sighed deeply. She didn't really care what people said about her. They were all assholes anyway, but she didn't like giving them another reason to gossip and possibly piss her off. The last thing she needed was to snap on someone and cause a whole mess for her God-Father to clean up.

However, her worries were wiped away when he leaned down to kiss her again and she smiled, finding that she was actually glad to be going to school with him tomorrow. As terrifying as it was to have him break her usual routine of shutting people out all the time, she was happy she didn't have to face the human half of her life utterly alone anymore. She had Ben for the Light part of her, Aiden for the Dark, and now Mitch for the part of her that had to deal with the human world.

It scared her, and she knew he'd end up getting hurt, but she wasn't sure she was willing to push him out completely because, as much as it frightened her, it was also a relief. She liked that he made her feel normal for once in her life. He treated her like a decent person, not a freak or a valuable object to be obtained and that alone was almost enough to make her forget that he'd hurt her, or she'd hurt him, or he might get killed by other Casters.

Almost. Not quite, but almost, and almost was more than enough for her. Bella watched him go before sighing and laying back on the bed, tossing her arm over her eyes, tuning her energy into him so she could sense him until he was completely off the property and she was alone again. For some reason, she suddenly felt like she was missing something important, and it confused her. It felt like they were somehow connected now, and it felt like there was a hollow part of her now that he was gone.

Maybe she was just overacting. Or maybe she wasn't. She wasn't sure, but she didn't care. Bella sighed softly a few minutes after he was gone and stood, heading over to her tub and flicking on the water before walking up the stairs to her studio, sliding open the door in the ceiling and pulling herself in. She smiled softly as she looked around, placing her camera on the window sill with her other cameras. The room's walls were completely covered with artwork, by her and her mother, as well as artwork she and her mother had collected in her travels.

Where art wasn't, there were shelves along the walls, stacked high with trinkets and objects she'd collected over her life from all the different places she'd lived, as well as exotic plants. Almost every culture was represented in one way or another. She smirked at the mess of the room, loving it's cluttery perfection before walking over to the back of the room, walking up another set of stairs to the loft of her studio where a second mattress sat on the floor with white, paint-splattered sheets. The back wall of the loft was one giant bookcase filled with books she'd collected, and, sitting near the edge of the loft, was an old-looking record player with four of five stacks of records sitting next to it.

This room was where she kept the majority of her life. The room downstairs was her bedroom, sure, but she kept hardly anything in it, save for a couple of books she was currently working on. Her studio was where she kept everything that was important to her. All the things that made up her life and made her her. As she walked up the stairs, Bella's fingers trailed slowly along the wall, grazing paintings, tapestries, plants, and objects on shelves as she went.

Up in the loft, she went to the bookshelf. One of the higher shelves held no books. Instead, there were rows of liquor and various drugs. Her full stash, where as, the hollowed out book downstairs was only a portion of it. She pulled down a bottle of whiskey, popping it open to take a drink before putting a record on and heading back down the two sets of stairs to her room. She left the sliding panel open so she could hear the music as she sat at the edge of the raised area of her room with the tub in the floor, waiting for it to finish filling while she drank.

The air around her changed so quickly, that it caused her to choke on her whiskey and start coughing violently. She felt her energy suddenly decrease and there was a pain in her mind so horrible it caused her to cry out in pain and set the bottle down, raising her hands to her head as she fought of pained tears.

Finally, it stopped, and, when she opened her eyes, Aiden was standing there in front of her, amused smirk on his lips. "How the fuck did you get in here?" She spat as she struggled to get control of herself. The world was spinning and she was breathing hard, still coughing a little. "There was-" She had to stop to cough. "There was a block on the room." She said, finally getting control of herself and glaring at him, though feeling horribly weak and ill all of a sudden.

Aiden just shrugged. "I broke it. It was pretty weak. Honestly, I'm disappointed in you. I would have expected more." He smirked. "Why do you think you feel like shit now? That's what happens when someone powerful breaks your spells."

Bellatrix rolled her eyes and took another drink of her whiskey, hoping it would go to her head soon so she wouldn't start freaking and using her mind to fuck with reality just because it was fun. Aiden always seemed to have that effect on her, making her want to use her power for twisted, selfish reasons, and it scared her because she liked it a little too much. "Well thanks for that, asshole." She spat bitterly.

Ryder watched her go from the window before sighing and running his fingers through his hair, sitting on the couch. He pulled out his phone and called the shop. Roody picked up. "What's up Ryder?" He asked, and he could hear someone talking in the background before there was a shuffling noise and someone else came on the phone.

"Corey." Madi said, making his jaw clench. He could practically hear the smirk in her southern twang when she said his real name. "Please tell good old Roody here I can do more than organize papwerwork." She said and he sighed and rolled his eyes.

"I can't if you don't put him back on Madeline." He spat a little harsher than he'd meant.

"What's all this Madeline shit?" She said back quickly, ignoring his words. "Keep calling me that, and I'll keep calling you Corey. It's Madi and you know that." She said simply.

"Sorry about that man, she punched me in the face, and fuck, does she have an arm on her." Roody's voice came back on the phone and Ryder rolled his eyes.

"Yeah, whatever." He shrugged. "Look, she says Clayton taught her everything he knew, and he was one of the best mechanics I've known, so go ahead and let her work on the cars, but keep an eye on her and keep her away from my projects." He said simply.

"Got it. What did you call for though?" He asked and Ryder sighed.

"I wanted to see if you guys could get along without me for a few hours. Did that kid ever show up?" He asked, running his fingers through his hair.

"Nah, you know how those assholes are. Nine times out of ten, they don't come, or they come late. Never showed." He answered. "And things are kinda slow today, so go ahead and do what you gotta. I'll keep an eye on Clayton's bitch." He said, causing there to be a sudden roar of shouting in the background, making him smirk, knowing Madi was ripping him a new one for that.

"Good luck. You'll need it." He said simply before hanging up and sighing, deciding he'd go visit his sister for a while.

“You know you can’t keep seeing that guy, it’s not good for you December.” She winced at the fact that not only did he say her full name, but he’d been watching her to. “It’s not fair to him, o=you know once your chosen, you won’t be here any longer…you have responsibilities.” He sighed.

Her grip tightened on the steering wheel, she hated the fact that ever caster including her mother acted like her and Trix didn’t know what they were and they didn’t know they had responsibilities or how rare they actually were. How could they not know when it had been drilled into their heads from birth. In all honesty she’d rather deal with her nightmares then her reality right now and that was saying something.

“I know you mean well, I get that. But, Bella and I are fully aware we have responsibilities. We’re not running anymore Victoria made thata bit difficult when she killed mom.” She spat harshly.

December was well aware of who killed her mother, she’d known they were going to kill her and they threatened to kill her if she tried to stop them or if she told Bella, and then the night they’d done it, they’d forced Des salon, hoping it would give her a reason to turn dark. The person that had been behind the whole idea was their estranged black magic aunt.

The car was silent for a long moment and December debated on whether or not to get out until Casper spoke and his voice was so quite if she hadn’t been listening she wouldn’t have heard it.

“There only doing what’s for you and Bellatrix.” She rolled her eyes “You’ll understand when this is all over Emmy.” He tried to make her feel better.

“Murdering our mother and making her oldest daughter watch? If That’s what’s best, you guys have fucking lost your minds.” She said opening the car door and despite his calming energy she could feel herself losing it. “I thought the you were supposed to be one of the good guys.” She said locking eyes with him.

“December I am.” He said desperately “It’s complicated. At one point the dark and the light meet in the middle and your mother had broken a million and one rules, she knew the consequences.” He was desperately trying to explain it to her, but she slammed the door not wanting to hear any more of it.

She stormed inside, getting ready to head upstairs and spend the rest of the night in her studio before she felt someone gently grab her wrist and turn her to face them. It was her God-father. She was surprised at how quickly she seemed to forget the conversation she’d just had out in the car, his touch instantly seemed to calm her and only her father had ever been able to do that. She raised a brow as if silently asking him, but he just gave her a small smile.

“Did you pay Ryder?” he asked releasing her wrist. Keeping his eyes on her like he knew she’d done more than that and that freaked her out, the last person that need to know she’d almost hoped into bed with a human was her god-father.

“Yeah…I did.” She said forcing herself to look away as she quickly headed upstairs.

"No problem baby." He said with a smirk that always had her heart racing. He was entirely too tempting. She had to look away as she took another drink and turned off the bath water.

"Well, there was a block on my room, so clearly I don't want you here." She spat. "Get the fuck out. And I'm not your baby, so stop calling me that." Her voice was hostile, and her words were harsh, she knew that, but she wanted him out of there as soon as possible before he figured out what had just happened between her and Mitch.

He rolled his eyes and laughed darkly. "No, I don't think I will." He said. "Came by to see how the first day at school went." He smirked and she could feel his probing eyes on her. Like he already knew what had happened. He was just waiting for her to tell him.

Trix shrugged. "It was hell. Human school always is." She said simply and he laughed again, seeming to make the very air around them quiver with darkness, sending a chill down her spine that was both frightening and tempting.

"I don't believe you." He said almost angrily when he was done laughing, and, before she had a second to protect her mind, or even dodge, he reached out and grabbed her wrist, pulling her to her feet, pressing her body tightly to his and wrapping and arm around her waist. She could feel his power enveloping her and sliding into her mind, as he closed his eyes and groaned, making her swallow back a moan, able to feel the intoxicating pull of his darkness as he probed her memories. She could break it if she wanted to, but she was too exhausted from him having broken her blocking spell, and she really didn't want to if she was being honest. She liked feeling him use his black magic on her.

Eventually, he was done, and released her, shoving her away with a smirk, causing her to stumble a bit, still dizzy from his magic. "Told you, you little liar." He said with a wicked grin. "What was that human doing here?" He asked, letting his eyes roam her. "And why the hell did you have your tongue down his throat?"

Trix rolled her eyes and shrugged. "We had to do a project for school." She lied, knowing it was useless because he'd just seen everything that had happened in vivid detail, including the things she'd felt and thought.

"Stop lying." He rolled his eyes. "Didn't look like you were working on a project. Looked like you were getting ready to do him." He taunted.

"Shut the fuck up." She spat bitterly, taking a drink off her whiskey, feeling herself starting to get worked up. "I didn't mean for that to happen. One thing kind of just lead to another." It was a weak defense, she knew that, but she really didn't have anything.

He smirked. "Nah, you meant it. You liked it way too much not to have meant it." He rolled his eyes at her.

"Fuck off Aiden!" She practically shouted. "Excuse me for trying to talk to someone other than you, December, and Benji for once in my fucking life. I'm not running anymore, so why bother blocking out everyone and everything around me anymore?!" She forced herself to lower her voice, in case her God-Father could hear her.

Aiden sighed and stepped close to her, placing a hand on her cheek with a smirk. "Look, baby, I know school's hard." He said, rolling his eyes. "Never liked human school. Guess that's why I never went." He chuckled before wrapping an arm tightly around her waist and pulling her against him again. "But they're humans. You can't make friends with them, and you definitely can't fuck them." He shrugged. "So stop seeing him. He can take you to school tomorrow, since you don't have your car, but after that, it's over." His tone was ordering, and it pissed her off, making her grind her jaw together. "Or I'll kill him and everyone he cares about." He started to kiss her neck and it took everything she had not to lean into him.

Instead, she shoved him off and rolled her eyes. "Like I said, fuck off." She hissed, voice dangerously low. "You can't order me around or threaten me, Aiden." She spat with a shrug. "I've got more power than you ever will."

Aiden just laughed like what she'd said was hilarious, pissing her off even more. "Hate to break it to you honey, but you're not hot shit yet. Yeah, you've got potential, but you're not a full Caster yet. You won't have access to all that power until you choose a side, or get Chosen." He smirked at her and shrugged. "Right now, you're just a hormonal teenager who doesn't know how to use her own strength."

"Stop fucking with me Aiden." She said, fists clenching, clearly on the edge.

"See him again, I'll kill him." He grinned, clearly pushing her, and Bella couldn't take it anymore. The blackness of her irises expanded to swallow even the whites of her eyes and she lashed out, gripping his mind with her own so tightly it caused him to fall to his knees with a loud groan, clearly suppressing a scream. She could feel him fighting her, but she only pulled harder, flooding his mind with the worst possible feelings of pain she could imagine until he finally screamed and she grinned darkly, walking over and kneeling in front of him, eyes completely black as she tilted his chin up to make him looked at her.

She pulled back some on the illusion of pain she was weaving, but kept her hold on him so he knew who was in charge, a wicked gleam in her completely black eyes as she grinned at him. "Still think I don't know how to use my strength?" She laughed. genuinely laughed. It felt insanely good to have her dark magic coursing through her. If filled her with an intoxicating, selfish satisfaction. "You'll stay away from him." She whispered, grin widening. "I'll do whatever the fuck I want."

His laugh made her falter some because she wasn't expecting it. Instead of nodding and agreeing with her, he reached out quickly, fisting a hand in her dark hair and pulling her lips to his harshly. She could taste her power, as well as his, fighting hers, in the kiss and it felt so good she moaned, despite the fact that she tried to pull away, which only caused him to grip her hair tighter.

When he finally released her, he placed his forehead against hers and grinned darkly into her eyes. "You'll be the darkest of us all." He said with so much victory in his voice it caused her to completely drop her hold on her mind, her eyes going back to normal as what he said physically shook her.
