Belial, from The Will to Survive: The New Democratic Order, a roleplay on RPG

Belial has miraculously fought through the side-effects of the mutation and the cranial implant. He simply attributes it to his refusal to let it rot his brain, but it's not entirely known how he manages to fight it off. Regardless, the mutation still slowly works it's way through his body, as now he's become even far less looking of a man.

Bone-ridges have grown longer along his forearms, shins, elbows, and knees. All have grown in durability and he will not hesitate to use any as a weapon. Ridges have also grown more noticeable along his lower jaw, and even down his spine. The claws on his fingers have grown longer and wider, still razor sharp and even his toes have begun to grown such claws. His canines have begun to grow into something similar to small tusks, protruding slightly from his mouth even when fully closed. His eyes have also yellowed and are almost always bloodshot.

He still has no hair and his skin has greyed all around on him. The cranial implant has become more streamlined, still replacing his right eye with the power-pack and the rest covering the top of his head and travelling down his spine. The Nutrient pumps have as well been more streamlined so that they protrude far less, and all these components have been armored to help prevent damage.

Even these those hardly stand out, as Belial has covered himself in many scar designs. All of these he carved into himself, using his own claws, and they vary greatly in what they are. His head and neck remain untouched, but his torso and arms are covered in them. Most prominent however of his new changes are more self-done "modifications." Barely understood as to why he did such a thing, Belial has chosen to not just wear metal plates covering his arms and hands, but these metal pieces he has all riveted straight to himself so that they remain attached securely. They cover his arms entirely, yet still allow him movement of his arms, and he has even attached some to his shoulder blades.

The only thing he consistently wears now are a long pair of pants, usually torn at the shins due to the ridges along them. He may wear other clothing when subtlety is really necessary, but otherwise he simply sticks to nothing but the pants.

Personality

Belial has not changed much from his days when he was first mutated. Or rather, his violent streak has only begun to grow more significantly. Embracing the mutation now, he wants to fight and he will happily jump into one. His cannibalistic tendencies have also become more savage, and he'll happily attack and maul someone in broad day-light for a feast. Despite this, Belial still maintains his out-going and talkative nature, always more than happy to converse and talk with people. Belial has always had a love for close-quarters fighting, and it shows through the equipment he brings and uses.

Belial still suffers from The Red Thirst (still waiting to see if somebody can figure out the reference!), however he has learned how to control it better and even to harness it. The thirst is a powerful urge that he always has, which is the need to feed on flesh like other zombies. Most often he can easily overcome this urge, but as he becomes more exposed to violence and blood, it begins to take over and quickly he will degrade to the savagery and mindlessness of other zombies. Lately though he has been learning how to harness this ferocity, to turn himself into a far more and vicious head-hunter.

Equipment

There are two things that Belial always carries with him. First is his new, heavily modified saiga-12 shotgun. The shotgun has had it's barrel shortened and it's stock removed, as well as an added high-powered laser for quick target acquisition.

The other item he always carries is a tool he picked up when he discovered that his claws weren't enough to get through metal or other tough materials. While he may call it a "sword", it is nothing but a thick piece of steel which has a side he has sharpened, the sword also having been hardened and tempered and has a grip added so he can wield it better. In all honesty, Belial is nowhere near close to being called a sword master, instead he simply relies on his augmented physical abilities as well as the swords heavy weight, to blast through and take out whomever he may be fighting.

History

Belial, originally Roderick Lemartes, was a serial killer who was captured and locked in a maximum security prison a few months before the outbreak began. Still shut within, he and other inmates were left to rot when the guards and personnel abandoned the prison to escape the hordes. However, he was saved from a slow death f starvation by taking up an offer from Director Scott. In exchange for freedom, he became the subject for several tests, which resulted in the mutant of a man that lives now. He has chosen to abandon his name of Roderick Lemartes, on the grounds that he wishes to let that name still have some sense of normality. (not that there was much normality to it to begin with.)

His mutations were caused by the same parasite that created the zombie hordes, however through genetic manipulation of the parasite, as well as the Implants to protect his body, Belial is able to maintain some sanity and to avoid dying or turning into and a zombie. Since he was brought into the order by Scott, he has continued to serve as a head-hunter, bodyguard, and whatever else Scott may need the mutant of a man for.
