Barnaby Turncoat

A goon, a nut, a freak, a weirdo, all names that fit the man with an odd last name very well.

a character in “The Will to Survive:The Armageddon Initiative”, as played by Eddy V. Sovorov

Description

http://www.3dsatire.com/wp-content/uplo ... Beauty.jpg

(He does however lack the rather large tank on his back, as well as the things around his wrists, also hoping I didn't screw it up and the picture did attach correctly.....was always horrible at that part...)

Age: 39
Role: Immune
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 165 lbs
Hair: Black-Grey
Eyes: Brown

Personality

Barnaby was always a loner, though not out of being shy but rather due to his sense of apathy. He never was one to show emotions beyond his own happiness or anger, and people were simply turned off by him because he never seems to care much for others. He is also capable of being very reckless, jumping into fights for the sport of it all and is all to eager to slam Pippy into the head of anything he needs to. He also enjoys a good cigar.

Equipment

Pippy, As Barnaby refers to it, is a black and yellow, red-headed fireaxe . It is his favorite of all his tools, and he treats it with care partly because it was the main weapon he used to survive, but also because....he's unique like that...

Barnaby also carries with him a .30-30 Winchester, another weapon he picked up during the outbreak. The last weapon he always carries is a simple fixed-blade 5 inch knife.

As for things that are not weapons, Barnaby (rather than the huge tank) has a rucksack which he stores his supplies within, as well as a small pry-bar that he only uses as a weapon when needed. He also carrier a multi-tool on his belt. He also always has a pair of binoculars on his, as well as his trusty zippo lighter.

History

Barnaby lived a quiet life before hand, nothing really special happening for him. Went through high school where he then left for the Army right afterwards. It had even been the first job he ever had, and only a year or two before the outbreak had he actually left. Since then he worked primarily as a handyman, on call to fix and repair variety of small projects. He was also a volunteer firemen, which was where he usually got his jollies when working. He also loved to hunt on his freetime.
He was not a rich man by any standards, choosing to live in a small apartment and only bought necessities. Even in adulthood, he was still a loner, with the only people he ever truly related too were ex-soldiers or hunters. He was never one to date or even attend many social gatherings. He had few friends, most of which were other soldiers or ex-soldiers as well.
Since the outbreak, Barnaby has been moving from place to place, scrounging up supplies where he can and engaging mutants/zombies whenever he can. Despite his love of fighting the zombies/mutants, Barnaby is no moron and will not engage in a fight with them if the numbers are large and easily capable of overwhelming him. In these cases he simply grabs what he can carry and flees to the nearest place where he can find more supplies and another fight.

So begins...

"Birth control, Ho Chi Minh, Richard Nixon back again, Moonshot, Woodstock, Watergate, punk rock." Barnaby blamed his parents for his love of Billy Joel songs, as he found himself singing lyrics to whatever song came to his mind at random times; usually without any provocation. After all, he didn't recall Bill Joel writing any songs about walking along the highway, peeking into broken down and abandoned cars while keeping an eye out for flesh eating creatures. Though that may be the next single to come from the talented piano player after this whole mess. "Begin, Reagan, Palestine, Terror on the airline, Ayatollah's in Iran, Russians in Afghanistan" he kept singing to himself as he peeked into another car, scanning for anything that may be useful. His current goal was to find a jacket, as though he could tolerate the cold usually, it'd just be nice to have some form of comfort.

"'Wheel of Fortune', Sally Ride, heavy metal, suicide, foreign debts, homeless vets, AIDS, crack, Bernie Goetz." Just then he heard a growl, turning around from peeking into a window to be greeted with a zombie. He cocked his head to the side as he looked at it, the teenage-boy-turned-zombie staring at him before it came charging straight at him. "Hypodermics on the shore, China's under martial law, Rock and roller cola wars," Just then he quickly stepped to the side, giving the creature a slight push while hooking one of it's legs, causing it to fall forwards and smash it's face onto the roof. "I can't take this anymore!" He sang out as he drew then slammed his knife into the back of it's head, plunging the blade deep into it's skull. Ripping the blade out, he kept to his tune as he wiped the blade off on the creature's shirt. "We didn't start the fire, it was always burning sense the world's been turning." Sheathing his knife he looked off, beginning to sing in a whisper, "We didn't start the fire, but when we are gone, will it still burn on, and on, and on, and on...."

From there he just began to hum the rest of the tune as he continued his walk, heading towards what he hoped was a nearby city. At least it was only one zombie right now, as he really didn't feel like pulling his Winchester off his back or removing Pippy from his hook on Barnaby's belt. He was really in a lazy mood today, and he just wanted to find something to eat; and a cigar wouldn't be a bad find either. Anyone would do, even any flavor at this point. He really didn't have the option of being picky at this point, not since this whole mess had started. He really wasn't sure what was going on and why people were turning into rather ugly looking cannibals, nor did he know why he wasn't turning into one of them. All he knew was that it meant they were all out to kill him and anybody that wasn't like them either. It certainty made for quite the fights though, these nasty critters. Hell it was why he was making his way towards the nearest city or town he could find. He was mostly interested in finding some supplies so he didn't starve or die of thirst, but if he found some creatures he could hunt down he certainly wouldn't frown at the idea. Honestly though, he was rather hoping to find somebody still alive in the next place. He may not be one for company most of the time, but he'd already spent about a month not once running into anyone that wasn't trying to bite his face off and even for him it was starting to wear thin. He sighed as he pulled his goggles down and let them hang around his neck, resting one hand on Pippy's head and placing the other in his pocket as he began to sing the lyrics of "Piano Man".

Barnaby awoke, startled out of his mind as his head impacted the steering wheel in front of him, followed by the horn blaring for a moment before he jerked his head back. He looked around frantically, grabbing Pippy while sitting up looking for the threat that wasn't actually there. Figuring that out, Barnaby swore as he looked down at the steering wheel before setting Pippy back down in the passenger seat. He glanced outside, hoping to get a good idea on how long he had been asleep, but he gave up a few moments later as he truly had no idea. Stretching out his arms, letting his shoulders and back pop as he did so before he glanced around once more. He was happy he had found this car unlocked, and even better in that there was a comfortable brown jacket that fit him even if it was a little small; it was better than nothing. Unfortunately, the jacket was the only thing he was able to find, as the previous owners must have taken whatever they could when leaving the broken down vehicle. They probably left the jacket behind in a rush, based on the fact the car was unlocked and they had even left the keys in the ignition. To bad it was missing a battery; Barnaby assumed somebody must have taken it during their own looting, for whatever purpose they had decided on.

Sighing, Barnaby leaned back in his seat while staring out the front window. He wondered where all these people had ran too, hell he wondered where he was even heading. He'd always been horrible with directions, and he had to admit he had been too stupid to grab himself a map before he had set out on his little cross country trip. Course he had been at his small apartment once all of this happened, and he was first introduced to a zombie by it attempting to gobble him up after smashing his front door down. He forgot how he had even manged to kill it, but afterwards he grabbed his rucksack, clothes and then had made his way outside into the chaos in the streets. Once he had realized his home wasn't safe, he then set out on his journey with his multi-tool and knife. After picking up Pippy form the firehouse and getting the hell out of town, his journey had officially begun.

It had been three months since that day, and he had himself a decent kill count in zombies. Too bad he had also tallied up a decent amount regarding bandits, looters, lunatics, and non-zombie-cannibals. Things had really gone to hell in a hand-basket and did so faster than he would have imagined. Sometimes he wondered how he was still alive, especially considering his favorite hobby was smashing zombies over the head. Maybe he was just one of the luckiest men alive.

Glancing at one of the side mirrors, he had then noticed a young woman was walking along the highway. He glanced further over his shoulder to get a better look at the blonde haired woman walking by. Still not able to, Barnaby then quickly gathered up his gear, and with Pippy in hand stepped out of the car while keeping an eye on her. He wasn't sure yet if she was one of them or not, but if she wasn't then it certainly wouldn't hurt to finally meet a not-zombie. Glancing around to make sure he wasn't going to be ambushed by a hidden one, he then turned back to face the woman. He sharply and loudly banged Pippy on the hood of the car to gain her attention, "Hope you aren't one of them miss. It'd be oh so enjoyable to finally see a friendly face." he called out as he slowly made his way towards her.

The streets were lined with abandoned cars. The major military roads had cleared these vehicles onto the verges. Some cars were left behind because they ran out fuel or broke down, but as you got closer to the larger communities and safe havens more cars were abandoned in the traffic congestions as their owner had decided it was faster to walk. Natalie was thinking that just about anything was faster than walking right about now.
After riding passenger on a motorbike and multiple incidents of commandeering her own her own set of wheels she was finding walking too slow. Especially in this weather. She pulled at the collar of her jacket and tried to think of the period of her life when she’d lived in hotter climates. The cold was nice when ski gear and warming winter sports were involved but this was not one of those times. The sky was grey and suggested that snow was likely in coming days. The empty cars sat cold and quiet about her.
Natalie nearly choked on her heartbeat at the sudden brief blare of a car horn. What the hell? She brandished her crowbar as she looked for an infected, maybe locked in a vehicle trying to eat the steering wheel. When her pulse had slowed again and there was no more noise and nothing caught her attention she cautiously started walking again.
She’s walked a little distance when there was a loud metallic bang. She turned quickly, brandishing her crowbar.
"Hope you aren't one of them miss. It'd be oh so enjoyable to finally see a friendly face." he called out as he slowly made his way towards her. 'He' was a tall, dark-haired, middle-aged man armed with a fire axe. She blinked at him a little dumfounded. Yes, Nat, she thought to herself. It’s an actual person. She smiled but kept the crowbar in-hand. Just because he wasn’t an infected didn’t mean he wasn’t dangerous. At least the infected were honest about their intentions of killing you.
“A friendly face is always a pleasant sight these days. But then is any face that isn’t trying to eat you. My name’s Natalie. How ‘bout you?”

“A friendly face is always a pleasant sight these days. But then is any face that isn’t trying to eat you. My name’s Natalie. How ‘bout you?” Barnaby smiled, chuckling and relaxing his posture. It was funny for him really that he'd be desiring company so much. Living how he had before the outbreak, he thought that not having contact with anyone for an extended period of time wouldn't bother him, and yet here he was almost wanting to hug the woman just out of the sheer joy of finding someone who, so far, was not trying to kill him. Of course he'd skip out on the hug as he couldn't imagine she'd respond well, and judging by the way she was holding the crowbar if he suddenly lunged at her in anyway the crowbar would probably find it's way between his legs. So he settled with a smile as he placed Pippy back on his belt hook.

"You may call me Barnaby, and yes not having something trying to eat my face is always a pleasant sight. Been a good month since I've met a person or zombie that hasn't been trying to kill me." Slowly walking towards her, he offered out his hand to shake. Even then, he was still watching the crowbar and made sure to approach in a manner that didn't seem to hostile. "Where were you heading, if you don't mind me asking? I wish I could give you my own answer, but I was just kinda going..." he paused, looking around before pointing down the highway, "That...way...kinda." He looked back at her, trying to guess how big an idiot he seemed in her eyes at the moment. "Ok to be honest, I haven't a damn clue where I am going. I was really just hoping to find somewhere I could scrounge up some more supplies, and maybe bash in the head of a few zeds with Pippy here." Barnaby said while patting the head of the fire-axe.

From the way she looked and was equipped, he could tell that she had managed to fight her way through messes about as bad as Barnaby had. Not to mention, the smile she had, as well as her comment, told him that she too had been struggling to find a friendly face as well. She certainty knew what she was doing when it came to survival, given that she wasn't dead, and she looked well equipped as well; more than likely spoils she had found along her travels. "Oh! Sorry about the whole, banging on the hood thing. I do it as more a measure to draw out any zeds that are hiding anywhere, helps to make sure I'm not going to get ambushed by any of them."

Barnaby offered his hand; Natalie hesitated briefly before she swapped the crowbar from her dominant hand to her left, to shake his hand. She had decided to give this guy the benefit of the doubt.
She chuckled at his remarks. “That-a-way is as good as any. It happens to be the way I’m going. I’m hoping to run into my family while searching for… some friends of mine. You’re welcome to accompany me. And I promise not to try and kill you, if you do the same. ”
She smiled and shifted the crowbar back to her right hand. “As for supplies the next township is meant to be inhabited by more than the infected. Depending on what kinda group is holed up there we should be able to trade, earn, or steal anything you need. Oh, and um… your anti-ambush technique has a couple of ‘zeds’ at your 7 o’clock.”
She turned away and started walking down the highway, propping the crowbar on her shoulder. It was just two infected and they were closer to him than her. One had crawled out from under a car and was dragging its broken lower body across the asphalt, the other was a little more swift on its feet, damn runners, but Barnaby seemed like he could handle himself. He’d catch up if he wanted to.
It’d be good to have some company.

Barnaby smiled as Natalie shook his hand, and he chuckled when he saw her keep the crowbar ready for use. Smart girl, that was for sure. “That-a-way is as good as any. It happens to be the way I’m going. I’m hoping to run into my family while searching for… some friends of mine. You’re welcome to accompany me. And I promise not to try and kill you, if you do the same. ” she said as she pulled her hand back and moved the crowbar back to her other hand. “As for supplies the next township is meant to be inhabited by more than the infected. Depending on what kinda group is holed up there we should be able to trade, earn, or steal anything you need.

Barnaby smiled, mostly because it meant he now had an actual destination in mind; AND company! Not bad looking company either, but he didn't even hope to "woo" her in any fashion. He wouldn't even know how, not to mention he hardly considered himself to be one of the good looking people of the world. Also, he probably didn't smell to wonderful either considering a hot shower was not something he had yet to come by, and the only way he could even mange to wash his clothes was in any river, stream, lake, or similar water sources. Oh well, it hardly bothered him anyways. "Oh, and um… your anti-ambush technique has a couple of ‘zeds’ at your 7 o’clock.” He blinked, then turn around to see the two she was referring too.

Barnaby jumped slightly when he saw them both, before looking back at Natalie who had started to walk away. Guess they were his to handle, which didn't bother him. "See?! It worked! They failed to ambush me....sorta..." He trailed off before drew Pippy from the belt hook, raising the axe up above his head readying for the runner. Once in range, Barnaby swung down and buried the axe blade into the head of the zombie. Stepping to the side, he let the runner's momentum carry it forward, allowing him to rip the axe free as well. The runner simply fell to the ground dead, it's head caved open from the axe blow. He then turned to look at the one slowly crawling towards him, Barnaby shaking his head as he adjusted his hat and walked towards it. "Night night fella." He said while kicking away one of it's pawing hands. He then gave multiple hard stomps to it's head, cracking open the skull and getting to the brain by the fourth stomp. Two more stomps were used to make sure it was finished off, and once it had ceased moving Barnaby rested Pippy on his shoulder before turning and following after Natalie. "I'll warn you right now ma'am, while I might not try to kill you, I have a bad habit of singing whatever song comes to my mind; hope you don't mind Billy Joel songs. You can blame my parents for that." He said while grinning.

“Sing us a song you’re the piano man, sing us a song tonight, ‘cause we’re all in the mood for a melody and you got us feeling alright…”
Travelling was much better with company Natalie had decided once she realised she knew a little Billy Joel after all. Aside from a couple of minor encounters with the infected their travelling had been mostly uneventful up ‘til now and she’d had plenty of time to learn more song lyrics from Barnaby.
As they got closer to where she’d been told the settlement was, however, this became less of the case. The number of infected that appeared at the sound of their enthusiastic, if not always perfectly in tune, singing increased. So did the traffic. In one case a reinforced and mildly weaponed family vehicle swerved wildly across the highway as it sped past, purposefully ploughing through the thicker gatherings of infected. It wasn’t that much of a new sight to Natalie, she’d met soccer mums with a body count several times her own when it came to the infected.
Eventually she and Barnaby reached a point on the edge of the town where the infected became too thick to keep up combat with and Natalie called a temporary reprieve. They escaped the horde, taking out the faster runners as they went, and hid inside a small second-hand bookstore, one of the few shops that still had the front window intact.
After checking it was secure and ensuring a back exit Natalie dropped to the floor between the stacks to catch her breath. She gave a tired laugh as she sat leaning against the shelf, “So I think we should give your anti-ambush technique a rest for a bit and take a more subtle approach while in town. Their attracted to the amount of life at the settlement. I also think we should get some wheels while we’re picking up whatever you need here.”
She had two leads at the moment. One was a couple of vague sightings of a small group that included a couple of men and red-haired woman with dog. Natalie wondered how many groups of the same description there was out there. The other had been from a small band that she’d stayed with briefly who were actively making life hard for the military. Staying with them had been risky but they had one of the more secure and advanced settlements she’d visited yet. Someone there had mentioned directing a ‘smoking hot stuck-up bitch’ fitting the description of a certain ex-Highgate resident ‘and some old lady’ east towards Minneapolis. These leads were more than she had on her own family. Natalie needed purpose and this was it. Walking was taking too long.
“What do you say?”

Barnaby was having a fun time with his songs, even more now that he had someone to even teach lyrics to and sing along with. Honestly, he was more surprised at how enthusiastically Natalie had taken to singing along. Least it meant things weren't to boring! That and it drew out small numbers of hidden infected that they could smash. Ha! It totally worked like he thought, as it meant they wouldn't be caught off guard by a zombie that was late to a fight. Not to mention they were having a fun time singing. However it had to come to an end when they began to run into dense packs of the infected, where getting their attention was more of a death sentence. They eventually made their way into a small bookstore, which Natalie quickly checked to make sure it was secure. Once done, the two of them settled down out of view of the windows, where Natalie gave a tired laugh, “So I think we should give your anti-ambush technique a rest for a bit and take a more subtle approach while in town. Their attracted to the amount of life at the settlement. I also think we should get some wheels while we’re picking up whatever you need here.” she said.

A good idea, to give up trying to lure out any hidden ones. They were going to die faster with how many that were out roaming about. “What do you say?” she asked him as they sat there. He had unbuckled the waist strap of his rucksack and was currently using it to sit back against. He thought about it for a moment before pulling his goggles down around his neck and adjusting his hat. "Well, I don't really have a shopping list in mind, so supplies wise I was aiming for food and water primarily. Whatever else we can scrounge up that is useful will also be good. As for wheels, we should make it our priority really. We'll look for supplies as we travel along looking for something to drive, and then we can grab whatever we find as we go supply wise." He pulled Pippy from his waist and laid the axe down next to him, as it was cumbersome to try and sit with it still hooked onto his belt.

"Lead wise, It's whichever you feel would be the best option. I haven't a damn clue where we would go or how far away either of your leads are, so I'm game for whichever you choose." He had remembered Natalie mentioning them as they had traveled along, during the moments where they took a break from their "wonderful" singing. Barnaby really was indifferent to either option, again because he wouldn't even know how to reach either one, nor how credible either of them were. "So, whatever one you are confident in, I'll share in that confidence." He said with a smile. "Sound like a plan? Look for something to drive, gather any supplies we find as we do so, then head off into the sunset looking for more people."

Barnaby and Natalie had decided to rest for a bit inside after their long hike along the active roadways and having to slip by zombies. So currently Barnaby had climbed his way up to the second story of a building next to the bookstore, watching out into the town with his binoculars. He had already checked the building to make sure it was secure before he went about his reconnaissance, also making sure to stay out of direct light, so as not to cast a glare with the binoculars as he scanned the town to check for possible routes and enemies. It was pretty damn quiet though, excluding the zeds that were roaming about in their mindless shuffles. They had seemed to forget about Barnaby and Natalie, as none of them seemed to be trying to get their way into the bookstore. Barnaby stopped his scanning when he spotted very quick movement amongst the buildings, what looked like someone trying to stay out of sight. Watching the spot, he kept scanning around for a bit more before he saw a red haired woman along with a mid-sized dog dart from behind a building, trying to avoid getting caught by any of the zombies.

"Now what do we have here?" He said as he watched her. "Someone who isn't dead, that's a good start." He watched her movements still, remembering what Natalie had said about her leads. Red-haired woman and a dog, which was a vague description but right now this person was the best answer to it. He was bored sitting around anyways, so stuffing the binoculars away, he gathered up his rucksack and placed Pippy back on his belt hook. With the Winchester slung on his back he worked his way back down to the bookstore where Natalie had stayed to rest. Quickly heading inside, he found Natalie still resting between the bookshelves and out of sight of the front window. "Hey Natalie, going to be running out quickly to go meet up with some red-head, dog-toting woman be back in a few!" He didn't even wait for a response before he quickly ran out of the building and off in the direction of the woman he had seen.

Barnaby choose to stick to stealth for now, as there were still a lot of zeds roaming about and he would rather avoid a fight against this many. He would not last long if he got stuck in one with all of them. As he wound his way between alleys, Winchester in hand and at the ready, Barnaby cursed himself for not really making sure he knew where he was going. He stopped as he glanced around the particular alley he was in, grinning though when he found a fire escape he could use to climb up. Slinging the rifle on his back again, he quickly began climbing his way up the fire escape, using it's railing to boost himself up to the roof edge so he could climb up there. Once on the roof, he began to scan the surrounding area, hoping to try and spot the woman again, and with luck he saw her hiding out in a small alley away from the main congestion of zombies. "Got ya." he whispered to himself before he quickly started moving across the rooftops towards the particular alley he saw her in. Once he finally made it to the correct rooftop, he then peeked back down into the alleyway she was located within, and noticed that the girl and her dog were both covered in some blood, probably having been caught up in a fight of some sort. Goodie, least it meant he wouldn't be picking up a liability. Whistling softly to grab her attention, he smiled while he spoke. "I have to say, I'm getting lucky when it comes to running into people not trying to eat me. You'd be surprised how much a rarity it seems to be for me as of late."

A small whistle.

Michi's train of thought was thrown off the rails and her instincts took over. Grabbing the glass from the soggy box she whipped her arm around and the glass flew from her fingers.

Or, at least, almost did.

At the last instant her fingers didn't release the sharp object, her brain overriding her instincts. Zombies didn't whistle, and the song birds were long gone from his forsaken city. Her eyes shot to a figure sitting on the top of the shortest building, looking down at her.

"I have to say, I'm getting lucky when it comes to running into people not trying to eat me. You'd be surprised how much a rarity it seems to be for me as of late." The man said with humor on his voice.

"Maybe I'm not trying to eat you, but you almost had a chunk of glass in your throat." Michi said with a light laugh, though the left over adrenaline from her almost cutting his head off was nothing to laugh about. "Death comes in many different forms these days. And believe me, I know how hard it is to come by someone who's both breathing and sane."

The man was obviously older than Michi, probably in his late thirds or early forties and he was jut as obviously arm. The blood staining his clothes told her that his weaponry wasn't just for show either. He looked at her carefully, probably trying to decided how much of a threat she was. Michi almost felt insulted.

Having always been a hot headed, take action type of girl, a part of Michi was insulted that he even wondered how dangerous she was. Another part whispered that she needed to prove herself. And the third part of her agreed. Giving a small nod of her head to the man she jumped out from behind the wall, facing the zed before her.

Before they could even turn a bullet had blown off the head of the mutant. Tucking then gun away Michi lunged forward, tearing the neck out with the sharp part of her crowbar. Ashew's attack was next, full on tackling on zombie and knocking him to the ground before sinking her teeth into the zombie's neck. With a violent tug the soft flesh of the neck was gone, leaving the zombie to flail for a moment of two before death.

The remaining zombies turned with a groan and charged at the girl and her dog. The closest's head went soaring as Michi hooked him under the jaw and separated it from the body with her crowbar, and in a flash another was dismembered by Ashew. With a triumphant grin she kicked one against the wall and beheaded the one still standing. Whipping around she bashed in the head of the last zombie.

A moment passed before Michi took a shuttering but victorious breath and whipped the beats of sweat from her forehead. Ashy was panting happily by her side. Turning back to look at the man Michi smiled as if she hadn't just taken out seven zombies as if they were nothing.

"Hi there. I'm Michi."

Barnaby watched the spectacle for what it was, which in this case was a woman and her puppy going crazy on a group of zeds. Least it meant he hadn't found a liability. And the not-liability came with a puppy!! Ok, so it wasn't exactly a puppy in the literal sense, but every dog was a puppy to Barnaby. He blinked slightly as some blood splattered up and landed on his cheek, slowly opening his eyes as he wiped it away. He just remained where he was as she finished them all off, turning back to look at him. "Hi there. I'm Michi." she said.

"Quite a character then." Barnaby said. "Well I'm Barnaby, and I do say that a gunshot might not be the best idea right now. There are....a metric fuckton of zeds out and about and they, like the un-rational creatures that they are, walk towards the gunshots." He pulled Pippy off his belt and held the fireaxe in his hands. "Stick to good ol' bashing, smashing, and hacking tools." He used Pippy's head to hook onto the side of the building, and keeping hold of the handle, slid down the side. It didn't let him reach the ground completely but it did lower him enough so that he could drop to the ground safely. He quickly jumped down, unhooking Pippy from the ledge and landed nearby before resting the axe on his shoulder.

"I gotta say, oddly I never took to the crowbar for a weapon. To me there just seems to be such a risk of it getting jammed in the target. Then you got yank, twist, and pull before the sucked rips lose...that sounded dirty didn't it...?" He paused, then shook his head and fixed his hat again. "Course that's just me, but Pippy here," he said as he held the axe in both hands, "Pippy has gotten me through this mess since the start." He then placed the axe back on his shoulder. "Well, Mickey. You and your puppy are more than welcome to come join me and mi amiga. Currently she's taking a break at a bookstore. I was too, but got bored...alright, done ranting my apologies!" He then turned on his heel and started to walk back towards the edge of the alley, stopping at the corner to take a look around for any zeds. Which there were plenty of, plenty, plenty, plenty. He looked back. "So you up for the party? We don't have hats, but Natalie and I can kinda sing. Hope you like Billy Joel." he said with a grin while pulling the goggles down over his eyes.

Barnaby was back in his spot of the two story building, sitting back out of sight and watching around for any new activity. He and Micky (He wasn't even sure why he used that for Michi) had made it back to the bookstore safely. A few zeds had gotten in the way but nothing the two and a puppy couldn't handle. Damn was it adorable! He always loved animals and this puppy was no different. Things had been quiet since they got back, and currently Natalie was resting in the store still. Barnaby had gone straight back to his watchpost the moment they'd gotten back, but so far it was all quiet at this point.

Something caught his attention however as he turned to look out over the rode. In the distance he could see two vehicles approaching. At first he couldn't recognize them, but as they came closer he was able to figure them out. The hummer was appropriate considering the circumstances, however the luxury car leading the small "convoy" was alittle out of place. As they continued their approach he could make out two in the front car with a couple in the back hummer.

Lowering the binoculars, Barnaby decided that, since he'd already accomplished several stupid things lately, he could go for broke and try something else. Getting up and collecting his gear, he then made his way towards the fire escape he used to reach the watch post. Getting to the alley, he slowly stopped at the corner. Waiting for the cars to approach he decided to play it safe. Holding onto the front of the Winchester as he slowly stepped out while waving one hand. Oh dear he hoped they were friendly he thought, lowering his free hand onto Pippy's head on his belt.

Richard saw a man coming from a corner alley with a gun his hand and waving. He slammed on the break and the car came to a screeching stop. Whoever was driving the hummer freaked out and swerved to avoid slamming into the car.

"What's wrong!" Darcy shouted

"We have company." Richard said as he threw open the car door and retrieved his pistol from his holster. he held the weapon behind his back and he walked around to the hood of the car, observing the area around him to make sure he wasn't going to get blasted by some asshole in a window

"Hi there!" the man waved

"Put the gun on the ground and kick to the side." Richard ordered as he keep his hawk like eyes on the man

Darcy was jolted awake as the car came to screeching halt. She crashed in hard to the front panel of the car.

"What's wrong!" She shouted.

"We have company." Richard said calmly as he stepped out of the Porsche gun at his back as she watched him walk around the hood and address the stranger she now noticed.

She wanted to tell him to be careful but held her tongue, staying in the car.

"Hi there!" The stranger waved.

"Put the gun on the ground and kick it to the side." Richard ordered.

Darcy rolled her eyes. As if anyone in their right minds would do that in the world they were living in.

She stepped out the car, feeling the need to stretch her legs. She was all cramped up and needed to use the bathroom. The stranger didn't look like too much of a threat and at this point she didn't really care.

If he shot her so be it. She would be dead but at least she wouldn't have to live in a world like this.

Slipping off the heels on her feet, that were killing her now. She walked barefooted towards the stranger and shoved her shoes into his hands.

"Look after these for me." Darcy said flatly as she walked past him and into the store.

There had better be a God damn bathroom in this place! And she hoped to God it was clean! Or she might just have another melt down . . . Some food would be good too . . .

Richard watched, his mouth ajar, as Darcy walked up to the man took off her heels and shoved them in his hands "Look after these for me." and then walked off. The man looked just as shocked as Richard was. Richard shook his head and walked up the man with his hand gun at his side and damn women he thought to himself as he walked over to the man who was still sporting a look of shock

"are there more of you?" Richard asked

"uh...yeah right up ther-

"Cool, tell them to come down and introduce themselves." Richard saw that it was getting way to dark to wear his sunglasses any longer so he took them off "And since your holding these, keep these for me." he shoved the sunglasses in the man's hands then chased after Darcy to make sure she didn't get herself killed.

Zanetta facepalmed and looked at Leon with sad eyes as he left the hummer then she looked at Jake, he did also and she smiled then she popped out of the hummer, Jake following her in turn. It seemed Jake was well trained, this made her happy and glad she took him on. She then stretched her arms out just for Jake to jump on her. She looked at him as she parted, his tougue dangling out and his tail wagging like crazy and she laughed at him. She then roughly patted him sending to the ground and his left leg twitching and she stroked his belly and continued to giggle then she stopped and ordered him up.

With then she walked to Barnaby, Jake walking in turn by her side, still his tail wagging then as she stopped in front of Barnaby Jake sat beside her. She looked at Jake and praised him then looked back to Barnaby. She observed him for a moment, her cheeks going bright red then she took Darcy's heels and Richard's sunglasses and smiled to Barnaby.

''S-sorry about Richard and Darcy. They are well, just like that but they are kind people. Darcy is also pregnant so she is abit cranky and Richard is well the father. They had a fight not to long ago, they think we can't tell but we can. So again sorry. I'll take these too.'' She explained in a shy high pitched voice at the start then she calmed.

Then she walked away with the heels and sunglasses and put them in the hummer and smiled to the others in it. ''He is okay guys.'' She then closed the door and walked back to Barnaby, Jake following her every move. ''M-my name is Zanetta. What's your name?'' She asked timidly.

"Pissing your pants over Harry Potter I see." Richard said to him.
"Go look after your baby ya git!" Leon scowled and went back to reading.
"Bet it's like reading your autobiography." Darcy smirked and shoved him out of the way making him lose his page in the book.
"Hey!" He screamed after her as she just ignored him.
Leon sat in the aisle and tried to find his place in the book.
"What is with these fucking Americans and their hate towards Brits. Fuck!." He muttered to himself.
He tried to get into the book again but the magic was lost, after a while he got up and put the book in his duffel, he walked out of the aisle looking the place over.
"Seriously and autobiography? He's a bloody wizard!." He said walking away from the bathroom. He shuffled around in his bag trying to fit the book in a place where it wouldn't annoy his back as he walked when he felt a phone. He pulled it out of the bag and raised an eyebrow, he turned it on and surprisingly it still worked. He suddenly remember the night he met Darcy and Richard at the gas station when he turned the phone off and thought he would listen to a voicemail later, well it was later alright and he had time. He clicked the button and pressed it against his ear.
"Leon!" the voice yelled into his ear. "Leon, I swear to God if you are not up when I get home with the shopping I'm going to kill you! wake up! Oh and you're father is coming home early from that buisness trip, Alexis called me as well, she said you're not talking to her. Leon! Please sought your problems out, you haven't been the same since Liam.. passed.. Oh and I love you Leon, dont you forge-" The voice stopped and Leon heard a beeping sound, by now tears fell from his eyes. As he brushed them away he remembered the day he had to kill his parents.
"No, stop crying you fool! The muggles will see you." He told himself.
He cleared his throat and wiped his face with his hands refusing to tear up again. He turned his phone off and shoved it back into the duffel bag. He looked down to his necklace and held on to it tight. How could he have forgotten about this? It was all he cared about once in his life. But everything had changed now.
"I'll live for you Liam." he whispered into his necklace.

Barnaby had watched Darcy and Richard head into the bookstore after shoving their things into his free hand. He was just about the throw the items to the ground when a younger woman walked up to him, taking them from him. And just before he heard what was clearly a wonderful British/English/whatever accent from the man who walked into the bookstore. [i]''S-sorry about Richard and Darcy. They are well, just like that but they are kind people. Darcy is also pregnant so she is abit cranky and Richard is well the father. They had a fight not to long ago, they think we can't tell but we can. So again sorry. I'll take these too. M-my name is Zanetta. What's your name?"[i] she asked him.

Looking at her, he could have sworn that she may faint just talking to him. Sighing and rubbing his head, he looked back at the bookstore. "I'm already regretting getting involved with these people..." He mumbled before looking back at the young girl. "Barnaby, can just stick with that." He then grinned and knelt down, looking at the dog that was following the girl. "And who's this cute wittle puppy?!" Cutsey voices wasn't something Barnaby could ever resist doing when confronted with an animal he loved. It was a habit he could never hope to break. Petting the dog carefully, hoping he didn't manage to piss it off, he then looked at Zanetta. "Don't apologize for them. It won't do any good as I could care less what stick is up their ass. I'm only hoping that we only stick to butting heads and don't end up shooting one another." he said while looking back at the dog. "I never took orders well from people who think they have such authority to give them."

He had now slung the rifle onto his back once more, but kept a hand on Pippy's head just in case it was needed. "Hopefully we can all get along well enough though." He said while standing back up.

Zanetta smiled at Barnaby then her eyes saddened. ''In truth, Jake here wasn't my dog until....'' She paused as she looked back as she set up Lilith for burial then she smiled again. ''Jake chose me to be his owner, I don't know why but I want to help people and animals as much as I can so I have no trouble with it. Jake is a German shepard too.'' She then bent down to Jake and ruffled his ears, Jake panted happily with his tail wagging in turn.

''He is a rare white German Shepard too so I couldn't leave this boy alone after....after his grief over his previous owner. But the others know him more than me, so it is a mystery why he tags along with me.'' She laughed lightly. ''Especially since I am better with machines.'' She tapped her tool belt as she spoke.

She then stood up and sighed. ''I-I think Leon, the one wit the english accent...doesn't like me though, because Jake follows me around now and Leon and Lilith were good friends..'' She then looked down to Jake who looked at her and smiled as Jake panted with her tougue hanging out. She looked back to Barnaby. ''But I hope he will...like me again in time.''

Leon looked down at his necklace once more before putting on a fake smile, he went outside to go get Lucas when he nearly bumped into the man.
"Sorry..." he said quickly trying to avoid looking at the dog and Zanetta, he kept his eyes to the hummer and walked faster than normally. He got into the hummer and shut the door looking back at Lucas who just sat there.
"You not gonna come out mate?" Leon said as he looked at the mirror connected to the top of the car. Lucas was silent for a bit but then he hopped out of the car with his bow in his hand. Leon hopped out too, making sure he didn't leave his duffel in the car, he shut the door and locked it. He didn't see what the use was but hey, what happened if someone decided to just jump their car and crap? THey would have no where to go. Leon walked to the entrance which was kind of blocked by Zanetta and the new guy, Leon tried squeezing past but with little space his shoulder just bumped against her arm.
"Sorry... I kinda got to get through.." He said awkwardly.

(Back at Leon's massacre.)

Leon was going crazy and it also made him reckless. Lucas watched his back for zombies he did not notice. "I guess he needs to let off some steam." Lucas thought to himself.
After saving Leon's life countless times, Leon just cried, kneeling down. Lucas walked up to Leon;
"Come on mate. It's time to go bury your friend." Lucas said softly.

(Funeral)

Lucas stood in the back and did not want to be in the way of the people that knew Lilith. He just stared at the floor as everyone was mourning, after everyone was ready to leave, Lucas walked up to the grave and placed a rose he had found one day when he was on his own.

After that Richard showed up with a Hummer, Lucas then followed everyone into the vehicle and they were off.
It was silent in the car, Lucas just closed his eyes and went to sleep at the back of the vehicle.
Suddenly the car stopped and Darcy wanted Richard to stop her and they both ended up driving in her Porsche leaving Leon to drive. Lucas didn't know what the commotion was but he just waited in the car until it was all resolved and went back to sleep. Once again the car had stopped and awoke Lucas. Darcy and Richard had left their vehicle while Lucas, Zanetta, Leon and Jake stayed in the Hummer. Lucas saw a man outside so he quickly grabbed his bow just in case something went down.

Leon then left the Hummer and later was followed by Zanetta and Jake. Lucas just waited in the vehicle ready to shoot if he had to. He looked around to see if there were any people hiding ready to attack but didn't see any. Lucas saw Leon talking to a man and then he looked at Lucas and winked, Lucas then put his thumb up. After waiting and searching the area from the vehicle, Leon came and grabbed him, Lucas nodded his head and followed. As they walked out Zanetta came up and apologized to Leon, but Lucas had no idea why.
"Is everything all right?" Lucas asked Leon.

Lucas watched as Zanetta walked away and she smiled at him. He knew that something was wrong, well they did just leave from a funeral so it is expected.
"You a fan of books" Leon asked him. Lucas smiled back at Zanetta and answered "Yeah I guess so."
After saying that he quickly browsed the area and noticed someone was missing.
He saw Richard at the Porsche, the stranger standing there and Zanetta with Jake in the Hummer.

"Leon!" Lucas quickly called Leon. "Where is your pregnant friend?"
Leon answered "Darcy? The bathroom, why?"
Lucas readied his bow and ran into the bookstore but stayed outside of the bathroom in case he walked in at a bad time.
"Darcy?" Lucas called, though he heard no reply. "Darcy is everything okay in there?"...

Barnaby had heard a screech, and he recognized the feral sound of it as a zed. Knowing how close quarters it was inside he kept the rifle slung on his back while he drew Pippy and held the axe in both hands. Quickly making his way inside, he heard the sound of glass shattering from the bathroom. "Ah fuck...the one damn place nobody checked!" Making his way there, he saw a young man with a bow in hand forcing open the door. Barnaby followed in soon after to see the dead body of a zed and the shoeless woman from before. "Ah fuck a duck and call me a monkey!!" He said as he helped force the door open more with the bow boy. Once opened, Barnaby carefully maneuvered around the out cold woman, smacking the wall a couple times with the broadside of Pippy to try and lure any more zeds that may have been hiding.

Once he knew it was clear, he then put Pippy down next to him as he knelt next to the woman. He hoped all the blood belonged just to the zed, and that she hadn't been bitten. "Well she ain't dead, that's a good start.." he looked up at bow boy. "Grab somebody to watch and check on her, then we can see if there may be anymore lurking around here. Sound good?"

Richard struck Priestess hard across her face with the back of the pistol as he turned her over on her stomach. He put a gun to the back of her head "It's a shame I don't have hand cuffs." Richard said as he fired two rounds into the back of her knees. She screeched in pain as Roger stood up "But that will have to do."

"Fuck you!" Priestess hissed. Richard heard the sound of the rest of the group coming out of the bookshop and he immediately turned to them

"Stay back inside! There is a sniper out her somewhere!" The group stopped in their tracks and slowly back tracked into the bookshop. Satisfied that they were safe Richard knelt down to Priestess and stuck a gun in her ear "Why are you after Darcy!" he screamed

Priestess gave him a wicked smile "Hmm yeah I like it rough baby...but you already know that." Darcy spat an obscenity into Priestess's face but she was ignored

"Fucking tell me right now!" Richard cursed into the woman's face

"You mean she really didn't tell you?" She smiled at Darcy, who had a look of panic across her face "She has been releasing classified information about the parasite projects all over the internet. She even sent a message directly to Director Scott himself."

"What!?" Richard looked at Darcy with anger and shock "You didn't!"

"Richard?" He heard his name from behind him, that's when he saw another familiar face

"Natalie!?" the women was standing with a red head who Richard had never seen before "Natalie! Move! Get inside now!" The blonde woman didn't act, she simply starred in confusion at the scene

and then.....

BANG! a thunderous crack shook Richards very bones. He watched as Natalie was standing before him...and then wasn't. The bullet impacted with Natalie's chest and blew her onto her back, but not before it ricocheted off her rib cage, exited out of her side and struck the red head as well. Both women fell to the ground as Richard spun on a dime and looked to the roof above him, there was a man with a rifle just about to aim downwards to take a shot at Darcy....he wasn't quick enough on the trigger and Richard fired a salvo of rounds into the man's chest. He fell over the side of the roof and impacted the ground like a rag doll, his rifle at his side. "Fuck!" Richard said as he turned towards the two women "Darcy go check on them!" and Darcy took off to go make sure the women were okay, along with the rest of the group.

That had certainly been.....quite a show in those few moments. Barnaby had decided to take the Hummer since it seemed they were leaving, and quick to do so he hoped into the drivers seat. But damn, Natalie hadn't been able to make it...Barnaby always hated snipers. Nothing sucked worse than dealing with those hard to see assholes. Sighing, he started up the hummer and rested back into the seat, Pippy on his lap as they drove along. As much as he'd enjoy a ride in a luxury vehicle, he didn't very much like the idea of sitting in a car during a spat between couples. Hardly a fun thing to be caught up in that was for sure...

He was glad to finally be away from the bookstore. Not to mention finding more people. Granted he normally wasn't one for company but after several months of being alone with nothing but zeds he was more than happy to find people. not to mention two of them had puppies and he loved the little goobers. Looking back ahead, he adjusted his hat as they drove along. "I could really fucking use a cigar..."

(Bathroom Incident)

Lucas had heard the screams and tried to get in the bathroom but it was blocked. After the screeching had stopped he could just peak his head in and saw Darcy; "I'm okay." She replied and then fainted.

Lucas was then helped by the man called Barnaby, as they both got the door opened they both knelt next to her when suddenly Richard came running in with his pistol. "She's okay, it didn't harm her." Lucas explained to Richard.

(Present)

Lucas stood beside Leon as they watched Richard walk out holding Darcy in his arms. "You're good mate." said Leon. Lucas just smiled and said "I'm just glad she's okay. We don't need another dead member in this group." As Lucas and Leon were getting to know this Barnaby a sudden BANG caught everyone's attention. Everyone went to go look outside when Richard told everybody to go back in. Lucas heard the name "Priestess" being mentioned, and he then remembered that Zanetta had feared a Priestess.

All he could think about was Zanetta's safety. He quickly sneaked around the back to the Hummer to check on Zanetta and she was still in the Hummer with Jake. Lucas silently got inside the Hummer and scanned the rooftops for a sniper and saw him but he was too late, the sniper had already shot two other women that were apart of the group.

"Are you okay?" He asked Zanetta.

Barnaby had stepped out of the hummer to stretch out his body when they had stopped and looked around. The "lovely" couple seemed to be at their spat still, lovely, and the others were just...doing whatever really. Shrugging and adjusting his hat, he looked towards the small store and decided he'd find out what it may hold inside. Walking over to the door, he tested the handle to see that it was locked, which wasn't much a surprise. Shrugging, Barnaby pulled Pippy off his belt and readied it for any possible zeds. Putting the goggles back over his eyes, he gave the door a hard kick. Part of the frame snapped as the door flew open and smacked into the wall behind it before swaying back and forth in it's spot.

Poking his head inside, he scanned the semi-dark room. A couple lights were still on and running, which actually did surprise him so. Seeing it was clear so far, he slowly walked inside, watching all the corners and shadows. He started rapping Pippy on shelves as he walked by, and it did exactly what he intended. Hearing a moan, which turned to a growl. he turned around to see a zed running right at him. He brought Pippy up and spun with the zombie, using the axe handle to keep it shoved back while it also stumbled past him. It carelessly smacked into a wall, and attempted to turn around. It barely turned when Pippy dug deep into the side of it's head, killing it on contact. Ripping Pippy free as it felt, he quickly looked around to see if anymore were lurking about.

Seeing nothing else, he then started to walk around, carefully keeping watch. However, when he looked over the counter, he stopped while grinning. "Fuck yeah~!" He said while quickly hoping over. Surprisingly the store had yet to be raided, and that included the various cigars scattered about. He set his rucksack down and quickly got to his work of filling a front pocket with as many cigars as he could, though he did keep one out. Pulling out his zippo, he lit it up and took a nice long drag, sighing in content as he let the smoke seep from his mouth and nostrils.

Looking around, he then went back towards the door and poked his head out. "The store still had a good amount of stuff for us to take! Some of you get in here and help pack what you can, por favor!" He shouted before going back into the store, cigar in his mouth as he started packing more items, keeping watch as well for any zeds trying to sneak up on him.

Well that was an interesting radio call. What a surprise though that the government would be cracking down so harshly. In other words Barnaby was not surprised at all. Hell even he felt that a degree of martial control was needed to keep anarchy from breaking loose entirely. He walked back out of the station, carrying some food with him as he made his way to the Hummer. Going to the trunk, he opened it up as he started loading the supplies inside. Letting out another puff of smoke, he finished up and went back towards the store. As he walked, he turned around, walking backwards as he went.

"So anyone gonna help me or we just going to listen to two propaganda windbags fight for airtime? I swear I'll keep the food for myself if only I load stuff in." He turned back forwards, making his way towards the store. "Fuck a duck make the forty year old do all the work!" He said with a chuckle. "You young people these days!"

Zanetta heard Barnaby and instantly opened the hummer door closest to her and she ordered Jake out with a motion of her hand then she followed. She quickly turned around and popped her head back into the hummer and smiled to Leon and Lucas. ''I'll be back, just going to help Barnaby.''

With that she went to close the door but remember Richard's sunglasses and got them from the compartment then finally closed the door. She took a breath in and looked up at the star filled sky and smiled. ''At least they haven't changed.'' She said to herself then she walked to Darcy and Richard, Jake following her by her side.

She then smiled as she took Richard's hand and gave him his sunglasses then she placed her hands infront of her, one cupped over the other. ''Sorry I didn't return them sooner....I kind of forgot.'' She blushed slightly then cleared her throat.

''I am going to help Barnaby now. I just want to help as much as I can.'' With that she skipped away, Jake trotting beside her, his tail wagging the excitement.

As she reached Barnaby she jokingly saluted him and funnily Jake sat beside her just as she did which made her just want to laugh. ''Zanett and Jake, at your service Sir!''

Suddenly Zanetta challenged Lucas to a thumb wrestle;
"How about thumb wars?"

"So be it, you're on!" Lucas said joking around.
After a few games Zanetta defeated him 3-0.
"I let you win of course." Lucas said closing his eyes.

Barnaby left the Hummer and came back and asked for help, Zanetta then followed and helped Barnaby. Lucas then jumped in the front seat with Leon keeping an eye out for everyone, they deserved a break.

''Zanetta and Jake, at your service Sir!'' Barnaby blinked, then slowly turned around with an eyebrow raised to look at the young woman, Zanetta, and her puppy Jake standing at attention. Chuckling some, he stood up from kneeling in front of a shelf and looked at her. It was almost like looking back into his old days of the army. Of course his buddies weren't small, young women or white German Shepards like the woman in front of him. But what the hell, they made it all the more fun. Letting out a puff of smoke away from her face, he held it in his hand while looking at her.

He enjoyed the humor, so he decided to play along. Speaking in a mock general tone, he suddenly stood at attention. "Alright soldier and...!!" He looked down at Jake, "Um...puppy!!" He looked back up Zanetta. "I want you two to help grab food, water, and any other supplies we can make good use of!! Is that understood soldier?! I want you to move double time!!! And while doing so you'll have to tolerate my wonderful singing voice as I sing renditions of Metallica songs!!" Of course, he was having a hard time not smiling, even while pretending to be an officer. Ah well, he gave her a joke salute back, "Dis~~missed~!!"

"Suit yourself." Lucas thought to himself.

Making his way towards the store is sees Jake jump on Zanetta making her fall to the ground.
"Strange." Lucas thought with a strange look on his face.
He continued walking to the store and made his way inside with his machete ready, just in case a random infected jumped out.

"Okay let's see... expired... expired... and also expired."
All the food Lucas had found were expired. He made a quick peak out the window to see how everyone was
and there were no surprises so far.
"It would be great if I still had my shopping cart." Lucas thought with a smile on his face.

He made his way to the refrigerated area but of course, it wasn't refrigerated anymore so he didn't bother.
In one section there were several large petroleum bottles. 5 to be exact. He picked them up and took them outside.
"Hey I found some bottles we could store some more fuel!" He told everyone with his English accent catching their attention.

He made his way to the Hummer to fill the bottles up.
"Give us a hand, won't you mate." He asked Leon as he was filling the first bottle.

Looking around, Barnaby watched the man with the wonderful accent....or atleast one of the people with the wonderful accent head over to the hummer with the fuel cans. Certaintly a good find there. Looking around, Barnaby figured they must have grabbed all the food that they could, as the shelves were about only filled with perished foods and such, and the supplies and drinks had also been pretty much cleaned out.

Stretching out his arms and back, Barnaby looked towards Zaentta, nodding his head. "Thanks for the help them short stuff. You and the puppy." He gave her a smile, letting out a puff of smoke from the cigar he had lit up earlier and went back outside. Adjusting his hat once more, he then sat down against the outside wall while looking towards the Porsche and the two individuals. Judging from his first interactions and they carried themselves, Barnaby wasn't really sure how he was going to put up with them. The first was the young woman. At a glance, she seemed like a straight up spoiled brat, expecting to be given whatever she wanted on a whim; and even she didn't get it she'd throw a bitch-fit till somebody caved.

As for the young man, a soldier atleast; Barnaby could guess that. He wasn't an ordinary soldier though, not by the way he acted when they had first met. The boy had tried to hide the handgun behind his back when he had stopped the car to talk to Barnaby, but Barnaby was anything but a moron and could easily tell he had been armed. And no ordinary soldier, marine, seamen, or whatever trained primarily to work with and hide pistols like the boy had tried. Barnaby hardly expected to ever get a straight answer regarding the boy's employment and service, and honestly Barnaby could really give a shit. So long as he didn't try to strut around like he owned the damn place.

Chuckling softly while shaking his head, he pulled he cigar away from his mouth as he let out another puff of smoke. He looked off into the surrounding darkness, resting his arms on his knees as he sat there with Pippy across his lap. He was being unfair though in his opinions about the two, Barnaby knew he was. Yeah first impression can really tell you a lot about someone, but it wasn't only the truth and it was never their full story. So sure they might seem to be a pain, but he knew he had to at the minimum give them so time to show who they really were and what they were really like. With time he'd find out, and hopefully they'd turn out to be tolerable. Mostly he hoped that was the case, as honestly he'd prefer to not have to leave the only group of people he had managed to find after having to survive through such a mess.

Zanetta smiled at Barnaby then she went to go out from the store then she looked back at the corpse, her eyes saddened again and then turned to determination. She struted back into the shop and looked around for a blanket or towel. As she looked she had no luck then she came to a back room. It was splashed with blood and had a 'Alive' sign roughly nailed onto it and she approuched it.

Jake tagged along, his eyes on the door and unsually quiet but she took it for nothing. Afterall a stinky bloody store with no power or lighting and lets not forget the rotting corpse on the ground is less than desirable, even unnerving.

She saw the handle and it was caked in dry or conjelled blood so she used a nearby cereal box and ripped apart of it off and wiped the handle clean, throwing the bloody cardboard piece away. When she went to push down the handle it was stuck so she looked at it closer and saw it could easily be undone from the door and easily be swug open.

So she got a screwdriver from her toolbelt and knelt down to the handle and started unscrewing the bolts. As they dropped one by one with a dim sound that echoed throughout the store then the door handle to dropped to the floor. With that she stood up and slid the screwdriver back into her toolbelt and swug the door open, it creeked open with a loud echoed sound, the hinges of the door were damage as if something was trying to get in, or out.

She looked at the dark place then to Jake that whined at her, pulling at her trouser leg lightly with his teeth. ''Jake, no. I have a torch. It will be fine.'' She said gentally as she got the torch from the toolbelt. She switched it on and proceeded inwards. Jake cowarded away and Zanetta smiled at him. ''It is okay, you just go outside. I will be back in no time.'' With that Jake whined again and ran from the store and sat at the front of the store and whining loudly.

Zanetta looked around the place, it seemed to be the owner of the shop's office and another door was within. *Probably a toilet* She thought to herself. She continued to look around and it looked like someone was injured and another helping them out due to the blood stains on the ground and the many used bandages. She looked back in thought again. *That guy must of been the other person in here...was he the injured one or the helper?* She noted. Then it hit her. ''Wait! If they have this much medical supplies then surely there is more in the back!'' She exclaimed in a possitive tone.

She went to the door in the back, blood drops leading to it from the center of the office room and she bent down to it. ''This looks....new..'' With that she knocked on the door. ''Hello? Anyone there? Are you hurt?'' She said with no reply but a groan she frown and opened the door in a swift action. It was darker in there and sounds echoed within.

She shined her touch in that was met by a woman, curled up next the the toilet, her ankle bleeding heavily with a shard of glass protruding from it. She just groaned. Her long wet hair hiding her face and her nails yellow and dirty. Zanetta placed her hand over her mouth. ''Oh god miss! What happened!''

The woman groaned louder and her neck cracked as she slowly looked up at Zanetta, her eyes yellowish and iris white. Her mouth salivating with foam and a a couple of what seemed like bite wounds on her left arm. Zanetta started to get scared. ''M-Miss?'' She whimpered out.

Suddenly the women screamed like a banshee and swiftly stumbled to her feet, her ankle broke yet she proceeded to walk on it as her foot limply followed. She had her nails up and her wet hair whiped away from her face revealing the lose of skin that showed her jaw just hanging there, even some of her teeth were missing and cracked Like she had been chewing at plastic or worse..bone. Zanetta in turn screamed.

Jake then started to howl and growl loudly as ran up to everyone whimpering as Zanetta and the woman began having thier conflict.

Zanetta was tackled to the ground by the women, her back covered in wet dirt and blood in the process. She quickly got the wrench from her toolbelt and whacked the woman across the face with it, sending her to the side of her. Zanetta scampered away from the woman and as she got to her feet and ran, the woman swiped her exposed arm with her nails, smelling the blood then women growled like a rapid dog and again Zanetta screamed. Holding her arm she hit the women on her head this time.

The women fell to the floor, the growling sounding drowned in saliva and Zanetta went to run just to be grabbed by the woman, her nails digging into her leg Zanetta turned to the women, frightened and in pain she was she started to hit the woman on the head as hard as she could making primal screams are she fought for her life.

The woman then stopped moving, her nails stopped digging into Zanetta's leg, she just laid there unmoving but Zanetta didn't stop she kept hitting the woman, her eyes full of tears though in rage she was, still she shouting primally. Still continuing to hit the now limp corpse of the woman on the head even with her brain exposed, the bloody wrench tearing away some of the woman's hair....

As Lucas was filling up the fuel bottles, he noticed Jake waiting outside of the store.
"Odd..." He thought.
He began to walk up to Jake when suddenly he heard Zanetta scream.
The scream caught everyone's attention. Lucas was too far from the Hummer to retrieve his bow;
"Looks like I have to stick with the machete."

Lucas made his way into the store with Jake leading the way, some members of the group followed behind
Lucas.
As he made it to the whereabouts he saw Zanetta in an uncontrollable rage bashing the infected woman's head in.
"Zanetta!" He called, but she continued to bash.
Lucas placed his hand on her shoulder, quickly in reaction Zanetta spun around about to hit Lucas in the face when he quickly stopped by grabbing her arm.
Lucas stood there in shock.
He walked Zanetta away from the infected with Jake following behind us.
"Jesus..." He thought to himself.

"Ah son of a bitch..." Barnaby thought as he watched Darcy and Richard inject the serum into Zanetta. Well so far, he was 0-2 in failing to search every nook and crany of buildings they end up occupying. He stayed back away some, Pippy still in hand in the off chance any more were lurking about. He also stood back as he still had himself the lit cigar and the last thing Zanetta needed was the smoke in her face. Really, the only reason he didn't even discard it was because there wasn't much else he could do to actually help her. Sighing, he looked towards the door Lucas had gone through, and decided he'd help make sure the room was clear and clean. " 'scuse me," He said as he slipped by the three and went into the dark room.

Atleast, dark was a understatement as Barnaby couldn't see a blasted thing! Pulling out his zippo, he flicked it on and used what little light it could give to start searching the places Lucas hadn't gone. This time he was sure on his end that it was clean and clear, which he double checked just to make sure. Once he was sure it was clean, he finally dropped the now tiny cigar onto the ground, careful to crush out any embers and make sure nothing was going to catch fire. Closing the zippo, he made his way back over to where Zanetta was a kneeled down by them. Looking at her, he then looked to Darcy. "So, good news or bad news to say? Please say good."

Lucas opened the door for Richard, so that he may place Zanetta's body inside.
"We should be leaving soon." Lucas pointed out.

Lucas closed the door behind him. He then grabbed the fuel containers and placed them in the back of the Hummer. Lucas sat in the drivers seat of the Hummer and waited for everyone.
"How are you feeling back there?" He asked Zanetta with his British accent, while brushing his hands through
his hair.

Barnaby watched Zanetta, shaking his head as he knelt down next to Jake and pet him on the head. So far, they were not having the best of luck. Natalie dead, Michi injured, and now Zanetta was infected...oh sure they found some fuel and supplies, but that hardly meant a damn thing with the man-power they were losing in turn. He could hear the woman screaming out for the dog, and at this point something had to be done or else the damn nut would go into a shock of...some kind. "oy~...come on you stink." He said to Jake as he started walking towards the car. Jake followed after him, and opening it, Barnaby shook his head looking at Zanetta. "Relax and calm down, would ya?" He looked at Jake and gave a sharp whistle, patting an area next to Zanetta that was clear enough for the dog. Jake didn't hesitate and jumped right up next to the injured woman.

Looking at the dog, he knelt down some to get closer to him. "Alright, you watch over her, you got it? And no cleaning up blood! Ya nasty little fart..." The dog just gave a quick affirmative bark before nestling down next to Zanetta. Shaking his head, he gave the dog a quick ruffle on the head before turning and shutting the door behind him. Pulling his hat off his head, Barnaby ran a hand through his hair while looking around. The British fella was right though, they needed to get moving as they've pretty much cleaned out what they could in this station.

Placing his hat back on his head, he looked over towards Darcy. "Don't bother yelling at me about giving her the dog. It was either that or she kill herself just trying to get the pup back. Crumpet though was right," He said while nodding his head towards Lucas in the driver seat. "We've about picked this place clean, and those two need to get somewhere they can possibly receive medical attention. Less we want to have two bleeding out on us. It's a pretty ugly thing to watch I might add, however." He said while leaning against the trunk of the Porsche, crossing his arms.

"Okay, first of all," Darcy said pushing the man off her Porsche "No leaning on my car."

It had enough damage as it was. She freaking loved this car and look at the state of it. She would have to find a Garage when they got back to Minneapolis. She didn't care how much it cost, this car was going to be back to prestine condition if it's the last thing she did.

"And secondly, there is a perfectly functioning Hospital in Minneapolis where we are heading. There is no where else on the way. Zanetta will just have to hold on . . . Like the rest of us." Darcy whispered the last bit to herself.

"Is she going to be okay?" Darcy asked, worry flooding her voice as Richard approached.

Richard looked at his lover, the same astonishment in his eyes "She is going to be perfectly fine." Richard said with more shock than relief

Darcy looked at him crookedly as he glanced back at the Humvee "What do you mean?" Darcy inquired of Richard

Richard looked back at Darcy and shook his head, right before his lips formed a smile "She's immune."

Darcy stopped for a second, shock and confusion rattling her brain "Immune, what do you mean immune!?" Darcy asked "How do you know!"

"The serum is made to attach to parasitic spores and encase them in a coating to prevent rapid growth. Well, I saw drips of the serum in her blood that was dripping from her leg, that was the spores, encased with serum, trying to escape her body because it is a hostile environment."

Darcy looked absolutely baffled "How can you be sure?" she asked somewhat disbelievingly

"Because..." Richard said as he gave a final glance at the Humvee "The same thing happens to me, but unlike mine I think hers is natural." Richard shook his head in disbelief of his own words "That girl could be the only human that is naturally immune to direct contact with the parasite."

"I guess that means there's hope for all of us then." Darcy said still taken. "And if she whines now I won't feel bad about having to slap her." Darcy said with a crooked smile.

She could not stand whining, it was amazing she had kept her cool this far with Zanetta. Whiners are wieners as Bonita the maid used to always say.

Barnaby watched the melee break out between the protesters and soldiers. It was almost like watching a battle of the ancient days of swords and shields. Course that illusion was already pretty thin considering the thick and durable plastic shields, similar batons, and not to mention the clothing of each side. That illusion was completely broken though once the soldiers opened fire with assault rifles. Quietly watching the massacre, Barnaby raised his eyebrows before shaking his head and leaning back in his seat. "Well that was Yummy...They were warned though..."

"We need to get out here." Lucas repeated.

"The woman and the dog have escaped, we need to find them now!"
She was talking to some man, but Lucas couldn't see him properly.

Lucas turned around and said; "We have to leave, right now!"
Lucas and the others managed to reach Leon and Michelle, but Lucas knew that
the nurse knew Leon and Michelle were together with his group.
"We have to sneak into another room." Lucas explained.
Luckily Michelle was stitched up and a bit better than last time.

Lucas led them to the empty room across the hall. "We have to hide here for a while. When the coast is clear,
we'll make a break for the Hummer and leave, we are all healed and better.. so this should make it a little
easier for all of us." He explained as they watched Michelle's hospital room being raided.

He popped his head out of the door just a little bit and spun it around before pulling it back into the room extremely fast.

Zanetta then saw another guard her eyes narrowing. *Why are they around? I was injured! Not infected...right?* She though in doubt looking at Jake's newly turned eye then back to the guard which now noticed her by the dressing gown she wore and pointed at her.

His other hand on a radio comm and he shouted into it. ''She is in the east hallway, I will get her! Looks like she has friends too.'' Has he released his finger from the radio comm button he smiled sadistically as he held his automatic rifle in hand.

Without a second she hit the ground with one of her hands then sprinted towards him, his face suprised but soon went back to a sadistic smirk with a glint of excitment as Zanetta challenged him.

She looked back at Jake who was growling then with a nod to him, he ran with her and as the man went to shoot she slid on the ground, her dressing gown catching afew of the bullets then she kicked his knee making a cracking sound. Then Jake bit into it, drawing blood and crushing the man's knee further.

Zanetta then got to her feet and slapped the gun away from the man's grip as he screamed in primal pain then a cold glare appeared in her eyes as she grabbed his head from his combat helmet and as she twisted her body to face the others, his head nesled in her left shoulder a loud snap echoed throughout the hallway and his body went limp, falling to the floor.

She then turned again, looking down at the dead guard as slowly his broken twisted neck with his spine protruding from the side of it started to bleed quickly. Jake licked the blood as it poured out of the man and she bent down and dipped one of her fingers into it then looked at Jake as she licked her finger.

She then ordered him to stop and stood back up again, blood stains around Jake's mouth but he was wagging his tail happily as she petted him, her blue eyes looking into his and the same for Jake. It seemed they...were...different.

She then blinked and turned to the others beckoning over. ''Come on!'' She shouted. ''we need to find Darcy and Richard! They'll know what to do!'' She explained in confidence as blood surrounded her bare feet. She looked like she had forgotten what she did or that what she did...was normal.

Just as Darcy was arguing with herself whether to go in or not, Zanetta came running out of the hospital doors and ran into her arms, Lucas close behind her. Darcy wrapped her arms around the shivering girl in the blood soaked hospital gown.

"Mom! . . ." Zanetta cried.

Darcy stiffened. She was more then a little taken when Zanetta called her that . . . it felt weird in someway. She wasn't old enough or more importantly mature enough to be anyone's Mom . . . But that's what she was going to be in a short time. Dear God! There were actually going to be two little people depending on her for . . . everything . . . the thought frightened her to no ends . . .

Darcy's thought process was broken when Zanetta pulled out of her arms and quickly opened the door to the Hummer pushing Jake inside and got in herself.

Breaking out of her reverie Darcy shook her head and stepped into the Porsche as she saw the armed soldiers heading there way.

"Get going!" Zanetta said out of the Hummer's open window.

"Follow me." Darcy said to the driver of the Hummer as she started the Porsche, Lucas got into the passenger side of the car. She did not question him as she reversed and zoomed out the parking lot at a dangerous speed.

Bullets clinking off the metal.

"Where is Richard?" Lucas question.

"He's at my place." She said simply as she drove them to the terrace penthouse.

"Alright! Calm down there Cowboy!" Darcy said to the young man "And get your ass back in the seat, I don't want a dead body hanging out of my car window."

Darcy easily maneuvered the speeding Porsche through the streets of Minneapolis finally slowing down as they arrived in the expensive Mill District where all the new and luxurious apartments and condo's of the rich and famous of Minneapolis once resided . . . and where her place was.

"Home sweet home." She said as Lucas stepped out the car and the others out of the Hummer.

As they all stepped into the elevator, Darcy pushed the key card into the slot that would take them to the top where her Penthouse Terrace was. She tapped one heeled foot impatiently as they went up.

"Calm down there cowboy."
Darcy said to Lucas.
"I must apologize, I never usually act this way." Lucas apologized as they stepped out of the car."
He then walked to the Hummer to see if everyone was okay.
"Nice driving there." Lucas smirked at Barnaby.

Lucas then walked up to Zanetta, "How are you feeling, wasn't that excellent!?"
He said to Zanetta all hyped up and excited from that rush.
He hadn't acted like this since he first met Leon, Richard and... Lilith.

Zanetta laughed at Lucas then sighed sadly. ''If it wasn't me that seemed to cause it then yes, it would of been so much fun.'' She expained then she folded her arms, wrapping the bloody, shot up dressing gown more tightly against her slender frame, Jake sat inbetween her legs.

Zanetta blushed. ''Uh...M-Darcy....can I borrow some clothes?'' She asked with a sheepish grin on her face. Her stitched up legs with the greyish brown discolouration on display. Her veins around that area looked black also but lightened out the further they were away from the area. The stitching looked sore yet Zanetta looked like she couldn't feel it. If her legs looked so....different then her arm must be the same.

Leon laughed as Lucas was screaming and having the time of his life.
"Haven't seen you behave this way in a while mate." He chuckled as he hopped out of the car.
The energy really affected Leon because he just felt like screaming as well, He didn't though Because he felt it'd be out of place. But other than that he felt on top of the world. He got into the elevator with a smile on his face and he rolled his eyes as he saw the expensive looking place that they had been staying in.

"Ofcourse all the best for the Morgan family." He teased.
He walked into the house looking around, wasn't as good as his old house but it was pretty good for these days. Sometimes he wished Highgate wasn't bombed to the ground so that he could visit his house at least once more. He grabbed his necklace as he looked around and jumped on a couch that was nearby.
"Ahh..." He smiled, relieved.

"Of course!" Darcy said as the elevator doors dinged open and they stepped into the large elegant hallway. and she pulled Zanetta out with a big grin on her face.

Fashion her favourite thing in the whole wide world! Zanetta could be her life size doll for a little while, although Darcy didn't think she would want to dress up in anything remotely feminine but it would still be fun!

She pulled Zanetta towards her room as she said over her shoulders to the guys "Make yourselves at home. There's plenty of food, clean towels and three bathrooms if you guys want to shower and change.

Looping her arm through Zanetta's Darcy smiled at the girl as they stepped into her bedroom and noticed her mother and Richard in the middle of another argument.

Darcy rolled her eyes as she said to Zanetta "Ignore them." and pulled Zanetta to the huge wardrobe and opened it with a delighted look on her face like that of a kid in a candy store.

"Another one!" She heard Belinda say from behind.

"Yep!" Darcy said without bothering to look back "Plus three . . . So, take your pick!" She then said to Zanetta excitedly as they stepped inside the land of fashion.

Lucas saw Darcy's mother and walked up to her.
"Hello madam, I am truly grateful for what you have done for us. Thank you for letting us stay in your home for a small moment."
Lucas bowed to Belinda in respect as he introduced himself.

"Well these clothes are so meant to be worn and not meant to just sit on racks so who cares if they get dirty!" Darcy replied as her excitement grew at Zanetta's enthusiasm with the clothes. "Take whatever you like."

This was almost as good as shopping.

But then Zanetta started mumbling about something Darcy didn't quite understand. She stood and listened to the girl and then Zanetta made her way to Richards side, bumping into Belinda on the way.

Her mother sent a furious look Darcy's way.

"We are going to talk about this Dracinda! Soon!" Belinda said angrily as she stormed out of the room.

Darcy didn't even bat an eyelid . . . Yeah, they'd talk alright! When she had to stick that needle into Belinda's arm.

Zanetta shook Richard telling him to wake up.

"I'm awake Zanetta." Richard said calmly as he took Zanetta's hands off his shoulder and held them in front of him so she would stop shaking him "I was just resting my eyes . . ."

More like not trying to strangle her mother . . . thought Darcy with a chuckle as she watched from the wardrobe . . .

Lucas finally finished his shower and felt fresh and clean.
He put his clothes on and sat next to Leon on the sofa.
"This place is great isn't it?" He asked Leon.
Lucas didn't know what to do, he was in a safe house with luxury, and he hadn't had that
In months.

He then pulled out his gun checking it out and scanning it.
"This weapon could work for me." He said to himself.

"Meh, I've seen better. Like my own house." He grinned as he laid back.
"But it is a luxury now a days." He nodded as he reached into his duffel and brought out a chocolate bar.
He chomped on it and gulped it down in one bite. He looked at Zanetta from the couch and he didn't dare say a word.
"Uhh." He raised his eyebrow tapping Lucas on the shoulder and then pointing to Zanetta.

Barnaby wasted no time doing what Darcy said, and immediately plopped himself down on the couch in front of the TV. He sighed in content as he nestled down, smiling and adjusting his hat once more. "Holy high heaven in a monkey basket this place is cozy..." He then looked back, listening to a woman he'd never seen before go on a miny tirade. Guess they weren't exactly welcome. Oh well!

Barnaby brought his legs up onto a small table in front of the couch, using it as a foot rest as he leaned back with a smile. "Damn I wish I had lived in a place like this." He looked around, noticing the well decorated and greatly furnished setting. It made him wonder just what kinda family Darcy had come from. From the moment he saw her he knew it was a well-to-do family, but even he couldn't have guessed it was this much. Then he looked back, hearing Zanetta walking by. Least she got a change of clothes.

And...then she started eating raw meat out of the fridge..."What the fuck did I miss?"

Belinda walked into the living room infuriated with the strangers that were walking around her house like they belonged there, when she suddenly noticed the older man with salt and peppery hair sat on her couch with his feet up on the coffee table like he owned the place.

Belinda marched over to him.

"First of all no feet on the furniture." She said as she pushed his legs off with her own "And secondly," She added grabbing the television remote from the man's grasp "I was watching that." She said as she plopped down on the couch next to him, turning the volume up.

That's when she noticed the girl on the floor eat raw meat. Belinda was close to tearing her hair out.

"What kind of God damn freaks has Dracinda brought home this time?" She shouted out loud to herself.

Barnaby jerked his head to the side as the woman next to him screamed something about Darcy and strangers. The message kinda became muddled due to the ringing of Barnaby's ear due in part to the banshee-like-scream-of-rage. "Ow~...." he said to himself as he rubbed the assaulted ear. "You know I'm only about forty, so I still have a bit before my hearing dies on me! Can we keep it that way?" He looked at the woman before looking back at the TV. "Damn...I don't know where women get that uncanny ability to shatter ears like that."

He had no idea what was even on, and truthfully, he really could give it shit. He was just more than happy to be resting down on a REALLY comfy couch. Granted he may now have internal bleeding in his ear canal, but hey? Sacrifices have to be made sometimes. "Well before I induce more rage in my direction, am I allowed to smoke in here or is that out of the question as well?" He asked, glancing over at the woman.

Belinda ignored the strange man as she concentrated on watching the show on tv, until he asked about smoking. She couldn't stand the pungent smell of smoke. Her husband had smoked cigars that was one of many things she wouldn't miss about the cold bastard.

"Out on the balcony." Belinda pointed with a sharp finger not deviating her eyes from the HD Screen on the wall.

(Final post before season 3. Badass outro song here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NcrDWAuyqtc)

Zanetta nodded her head, a little fear in her eyes "Good, go get dressed. Then meet me out in the living room...I have a few things to say."

Zanetta nodded and ran off to get dressed as Richard called everyone else into the living room. "What the hell do you think you're doing! I'm watching T.V!" Belinda argued, but Richard wasn't in the mood and just through her the finger as he walked up in front of the group, and in front of the T.V.

"Okay everybody, here is what is going to happen." Richard began "Me and Darcy will be going somewhere. Somewhere away from...this." Richard felt a pang of guilt before the next words even left his mouth. He felt parched, dry and soulless as he stood amongst friends and strangers, all who he felt responsible for "We can not take all of you. Only a few of you can go with us, if that." Richard looked at the faces of the people around him "For the rest of you, I will give you any supplies I have, and feel free to raid this place for supplies." Richard look at Belinda "And please make sure to take the T.V too." Richard took a seep breath as he turned to look out a nearby window "The world is going to go to shit soon...I feel it. It is only a matter of time before things get bad. Very, very bad. I think my old boss is planning something....big, something that is going to change this world for worse. I don't know how exactly, but he is going to make the world worse then already having it infested with zombies. Where all of you go from this point on, please remember to stay safe." Richard turned and faced the group once more "Each and every one of you has a skill, or a personality that will get you through this shit storm and back. I believe that united, any of you could easily walk through hell and back." Richard stood with his hands behind his back as Darcy came up and wrapped her arms around his waist "Ladies and gentlemen...let's begin."

Barnaby watched Richard from his spot on the couch. "Going to go to shit? Think it kinda has already...but fair enough then." He stood up, brushing himself off with a grin. "Not sure why you'd want to separate us though, we all make a pretty good team." He then looked at Richard again. "and don't give me no shit about you 'being a danger to us all.' We are already in danger and it wouldn't be any worse than usual."

He held out his arms to the side, "Besides! If that is the case I'd like to tag along, as a fight is something I'm looking to get to! Pippy hasn't tasted a good fight in awhile and he could use it." He then walked up to Richard, looking at him. "So if you'll let me, I'd like to tag along with ya. You fellas I kinda like so I won't be an ass I promise." he said with a grin.

**Atop a rooftop**

So this is the world Scott is going to take over, eh? Belial chuckled dryly, bringing a leg up so he could rest his arm on his knee. "You delusional fool, peace and prosperity! Ha! Good luck to you on that." Course he was only talking to himself. He watched the fighting beginning to die down between the rebels and military. A wonderful glimpse of the future he believed. Belial didn't really know what Scott had planned, and he had no ide whether he'd actually achieve his goals.

Regardless, Belial would tag along for the ride. The fights, the blood, he couldn't possibly turn it down. A smile crept over his face, his enlarged canines clear as day. "I smell war on the horizon and nobody's going to keep me out of it!!"

Lucas just sat on the couch folding his arms in silence.
He didn't know what to say. He just sat there doing nothing but stare
At the floor. He thought about what he had.

"Only three arrows left & 4 rounds for my pistol. After that I have to slash
Everything and that doesn't sound too fun." He thought to himself.
He took a quick glance at everyone in the room and back to the floor.

Final post.

Lucas sat there as Belinda got angry and started growling at Darcy.
Image

Lucas then stood up and walked outside to the balcony and took a deep breathe.
"Fresh air." He said as he breathed in the cool air.
He watched as some infected just dawdled by, down the street.

Leon then joined him outside also breathing in the air.
They stood there in the awkward silence.
"So...." Lucas said to break the silence.
"Are we sticking together even if Richard doesn't allow us to go with him?" Lucas asked Leon.
There was a bit of silence, and then at the same time they both nodded their heads
and walked back inside.

As Lucas walked in he smiled and said,
"I'm ready for anything." Then he sat back down on the couch, relaxing and resting his arms on the back
of the couch on each side.

OOC: Rawr! Sorry Solid Snacks I'm claiming the last post. Sorry guys for ditching. I'm probably not coming back but here's a post anyhow (based aaaages ago in the timeline of things). If it contradicts something I didn't read then sorry again. And good luck with the third season. :)

“Hey Natalie, going to be running out quickly to go meet up with some red-head, dog-toting woman be back in a few!”
Natalie lifted her head and looked up at Barnaby. He’d been exploring or something and now he was talking. She blinked slowly, trying to focus. “Okay,” she said eventually but he’d already gone. She leant back against a book shelf and put her hands to her head. “I’ll along in a bit…”

…rattling breaths followed her in the darkness and hard bony hands grabbed at her…
…sunlight on the highway, the fresh wind on her face as it snatched at the loud lyrics spilling from her car radio…
…the blanket cocooned her body, moonlight lit the figures in the night, soft grey lines on pale paper…
…the smell of pancakes and cacophony of discussion from a dysfunctional group of allies...
…a warm smile and a sideways glance from a boy…
…heart hammering against her rib cage, hard steel in her hand, a swish of red and warning growl, a sharp bark…

“Lilith!?” Natalie’s head snapped up. She’d fallen asleep. She had no idea how long. Her head felt thick and her thoughts slow, but this one thing drew her to her feet. Her body was a dull ache and her limbs felt heavy as she shuffled blearily between the shelves of the store.
She stumbled into the street and nothing jumped out of the shadows or tried to eat her. She didn’t think, she just moved with a sense of purpose knowing there was something – someone- she had to find.

The voice was familiar, that loud angry male sound, it always seemed to be like that most every other time she’d heard it. When was that again? It had been then… and then it was now… she’d been walking and now she was here. Natalie rubbed her forehead, and tried to shake the fogginess from her mind. She walked forward.
There were people. Some were familiar and some were not. She focused on the one in front of her with the familiar voice.
“Richard?”
“Natalie!? Natalie! Get inside now!”
It must be him she thought distantly he was always giving orders. She puzzled of his words for a bit, as she remembered the meanings of each of the sounds. God! What was wrong with her? But she’d found Richard. She’d been searching for… for people… and he was one of them, right? She started to smile.
BANG!
Pain, sharp and hard, hit her chest and spread through her body. Something solid slammed against her back and her head smacked against it. First Richard disappeared and then with the smack so did everything else as her vision flared white with stars. When she could see a moment later the world didn’t look right. She realised she was looking upwards. She huffed a chuckle which apparently was a bad idea. Her mouth was filled with a coppery taste and the harsh exhale of air cause the liquid to bubble and spill onto her lips and down her cheek. Her body chest hurt, but she recognised that most of her body was pain now. But it was distant. The haze in head grew stronger and while the pain didn’t go way it didn’t really concern her much anymore. Natalie blinked way the blur of water in her eyes, the hot salty stuff run off her face too.
“...found…”
The word hurt and Natalie decided that she’d say the rest later, she just need to rest…
