History:
Jacqueline was born to one half of the pure line of Ayers, and the other half to the pure line of Levaeu's, making her a very powerful witch at a young age, being a direct descendant of Voodoo Queen, Marie Lavaeu. From the tender age of 2, Jacqueline was able to enter the dreams of her parents and alter them in whatever way she so wished, that made them believed they gave birth to Marie's reincarnation.

When Jacqueline was a mere ten years old, during a late outing with her father, she dozed off in the backseat and unfortunately her father dozed in the front. Jacqueline was pulled into his dream and was unable to pull herself out of the dream and wake her him before the car veered and hit a guardrail and jackknifed, killing her father instantly and injuring Jacqueline.

Afterwards, Jacqueline's mother, full of grief, moved her and her daughter in with her sister, Jadus. Where Jacqueline met her cousin of the same age, River. The two became close, like sisters however while River found Science, Jaqcueline found and immersed herself in magic, in hopes of controlling her strange and frightening ability.

By Highschool, Jacqueline was a proud witch, wearing it on her like a pin, she didn't care for designer clothes, or the hottest music or the newest technology. All She cared for, all she was interested in was magic and controlling it. She was dubbed by her classmates as the Voodoo Queen, not knowing she was actually blood relative to the Voodoo Queen.

She never gained much more control of her dreamwalking. She learned that should could control what the dreamer dreamt and thus how to wake them up, though each person is different however she couldn't and still can't stop herself from being yanked into their dreams so when she moved out, she found herself self a small place in the Bayou where she can get rest, however she works in the French Quarter, where she helps run a small herb and spices shoppe that her mother owns.

Theme Song

Witch Queen of New Orleans || Redbone

Marie, Marie, da voodoo veau, she'll put a spell on you
Marie, Marie, da voodoo veau, she'll put a spell on you
Marie, Marie, da voodoo veau
She's the witch queen of New Orleans, of New Orleans

I'm gonna tell you a story, strange as it now seems
Of zombie voodoo gris gris and the Witch Queen of New Orleans
She lived in a world of magic, possessed by the devils skew
From a shack near the swamplands made of mud-pile brick
Marie stirred her witches brew

Marie, Marie, da voodoo veau, she'll put a spell on you
Marie, Marie, da voodoo veau, she'll put a spell on you
Marie, Marie, da voodoo veau
She's the Witch Queen of New Orleans, of New Orleans

Dime or a nickel, anyone could buy voodoo of any kind
She had potions and lotions, herbs and tanna leaves
Guaranteed to blow your mind
Early one mornin' into mucky swamp dew, vanished Marie with hate in her eyes
Though she'll never return, all the Cajuns knew, a Witch Queen never dies

Marie, Marie, da voodoo veau, she'll put a spell on you
Marie, Marie, da voodoo veau, she'll put a spell on you
Marie, Marie, da voodoo ve veau
She's the witch queen of New Orleans, of New Orleans

Marie, Marie, da voodoo veau, she'll put a spell on you
Marie, Marie, da voodoo veau, she'll put a spell on...

So begins...

"The Beach," Marcus said and Jacqueline frowned, That was not the response she was expecting.
He looked away and spoke again.

"You asked what I dream about...and when I do dream...I normally dream that I am on a beach. Some times by myself...some times with others...Some times its just a normal beach...and some times-" He stopped and looked down. "Some times it's a beach made of broken glass and the ocean is made of lava..." He said and she looked at him
Image "Okay." She said softly with a nod. " I can 'elp wit' dz'at." She said as she watched him. His expression was soft as he spoke and she felt as if he'd let her in more then he probably let anyone before.

He looked up at her, his eyes looking into hers. " And this Birthmark." He began, holding up his hand. "Is not Birthday...I never had this thing until after my 'death'...All of the other Crusaders are born with their mark." He said with a soft frown. "I never told anyone that-especially the Crusaders."

She was quiet then, looking at him with a soft expression, she opened her mouth to speak but stopped.
" I trust you as much as I'd trust anyone else.. or perhaps more so.. I'm worried about bringing you into the middle of something you shouldn't have to be... and what the Crusaders might do if they thought that you had some how 'corrupted' me.."
Image
"Well," She said with a quick smile." Your Bir'dzmark, all dz'at proves if dz'at you aren't really one of dz'em. You are willing to work wit' me, after all." She said quietly. "And dz'e fact dz'at you are worried about my safety, means dz'at I can trust you too." She said and patted his shoulder. "Come, We 'ave to 'urry, you said." She said and started on to the side walk.

She paused and turned her head. "and I won't corrupt you, Unless you want to me." She said with smirk.

"Well," She said with a quick smile." Your Bir'dzmark, all dz'at proves if dz'at you aren't really one of dz'em. You are willing to work wit' me, after all." She said quietly. ...Wishful thinking perhaps... Bane knew what he was. He was a Witch Hunter just like them, and just because he had a shorter list of who to hunt then they did, didn't make him something completely different. All it meant was that he was truly born in death...

"And dz'e fact dz'at you are worried about my safety, means dz'at I can trust you too." She said and patted his shoulder. "Come, We 'ave to 'urry, you said. She said as she started on to the side walk. She paused and turned her head. "and I won't corrupt you, Unless you want to me." She said with smirk. " He grinned back at her, he was mighty tempted to take her up on the offer if they weren't already on a timed schedule. Taking her pause as opportunity to step out in front of her, taking the lead. As he walks out into the street his hand delves down into his jacket pocket, pulling out yet another cigarette.

Image" I never said I was worried about you corrupting me.. I said I worried they might think you had.. " He says as he continues to walk down the street towards a small parking lot down the way where he parked his car. " To be completely honest - I think shy of a few magic tricks up your sleeve I got ya beat in the corruption department. Hell, just this morning I knocked a guy out for talking to loud at me... What's the worse thing you've done today, tryed and help a complete stranger find a killer? " He continues, clearly in a joking attitude. " Face it kid, as far as 'evil witches' go, you're pretty weak-sauce. " Bane says, making sure his face was not in view of hers so she would not seem him with a large smirk on his face.

"I never said I was worried about you corrupting me...I said I worried they might think you had.." Marcus replied and Jacqueline laughed. " Either way..." She said as he walked up in front of her, taking the lead. As they headed down the lot, Jacqueline took the time to get a better look at him. Tall, kinda thin, probably getting thinner by the minute all the cigarettes he was smoking, handsome too, It was too bad he was on such opposite sides...

"To be completely honest- I think shy of a few magic tricks up your sleeve I got ya eat in the corruption department. Hell, just this morning I knocked a guy out for talking to loud at me...What's the worse thing you've done today, tried and help a complete stranger kind a killer?" He said teasing. "Face it kid, as far as 'evil witches' go, you're pretty weak-sauce." He said, despite his efforts to hide it, she could see his high cheekbones get even higher as he smirked, even from the back of his head.. "I'll take dz'at as a compliment." she said, her face lightening a bit as they approached his car and she began to get that bad feeling again, like they weren't really prepared for what was coming, it caused dulled her expression a bit as she began to think, What if tihs person was summoning a demon. Neither of the were prepared for that, Neither side for that matter. They'd been fighting each other or so long that they hadn't really prepared for any other threat, like actual demons.

She tried to shake it. " So where to first?" She asked him, leaning against the car. " Food and dz'en dz'e 'otel. Or 'otel first?" She said but the glint in her eye made the question a little more suggestive then what it probably should have been.

Image Bane's Car sits in a mostly empty parking lot, all be it he was parked in a way he was taking up nearly three parking spots. A still relatively new Corvette was his ride of choice, and despite how Marcus kept himself appearance wise, it was very well kept.

" So where to first?" She asked him, leaning against the car. " Food and dz'en dz'e 'otel. Or 'otel first?" Was she suggesting something, he wondered as he smirked back at her. He opened his mouth - about to say something along the lines of 'her wanting to get him alone in a hotel room' - before his stomach began to growl again. He frowned slightly as his hand would return to his stomach again.

" Food first.. " Bane says as he opens the driver side door. " You know of anywhere good near by? " He asks before he begins to slide into the car. Inside of the car was still pretty nice, with the exception of various fast food wrappers littering the backseat.

He watched her as she climbed in, but truly his mind was elsewhere. If Satanic Magic was behind all of this, then Cane wasn't sure just how ready they were for this fight. Normally he wouldn't really care much about what kind of magic was being used - but with 10 years of sacrifices on this Witch or Warlocks side... he was probably pretty powerful by now.

Image
" That spirit... " He says as he starts up the car. " This 'Gheed Nibow' .... Do you still think I might be him? " He asked as he began to pull out of the parking lot, glancing at her for a moment. He seemed truly curious to hear her answer this question.

Jaqcueline watched as Marcus was about to say something but his stomach spoke his turn.

"Food first..."
He said and she laughed. "I suppose so," She said and opened her side door. "You know anywhere good near by?"

"Depends on what you want," She said as she climbed into the car. It was a bit of a mess inside, but he didn't seem like the type to really care.

"That spirit..." He started as he started the car."This 'Gheed Nibow.'....Do you still think I am him?" He asked with a side glance as he pulled out of the parking lot.
Image
"Gee-Day." She corrected. "And Yes, to a certain degree." She said looking at him. "Dz'ere is much more to it dz'en what you may dz'ink. From what I can tell you've only bisected each odz'er like a venn diagram. You 'aven't fully embraced 'im." She explained. "Only time will tell, to be 'onest. It's why I want to 'elp you, One of d'ze reasons anyway" She said and looked ahead. "You're dealing wit' magic will show me how deep the bisection is. So far, you seem to 'ave more control." She said amd looked back at him. "O'dzerwise, you'd 'ave tried taking me in d'ze shoppe."

Jacqueline smiled as his gaze found her face but it faded as the car began to pick up speed. "Like I said," He said looking about at the road, Jacqueline began to become uncomfortable in her seat.

She personally never liked cars for reasons only those close to her knew but she had learned to deal with them...within the speed limit. "I control some of my urges..." He said, and Jacqueline's lips pressed together in a fine line. "But the day is still young,"

She rolled her eyes, swallowing her nervousness. "We'll see." She said, her snark a bit dry.

"So...This Satanist....this dark magic...Could the killings be somethng fueling their magic? Or do you think it's just something sick they do in their free time."

Image
Good, something to focus on, she thought.

"Well, I don't know much about dark magic, but dz'is seems ritualistic. Same type of deaths, same day of dz'e year. It sounds like dz'ey are after somedz'ing. It could be somedz'ing as simple as a gaining power or...somedz'ing else entirely." She said, fear finding her face again. She didn't want to tell him how much more she thought it was out of fear he might think she was practiced dark magic. She never she never used magic for malice. It was a dangerous road to go down.

"'ow did you find out about dz'ese killings?" She asked. "Did you know any of dz'e victims?"

It could be somedz'ing as simple as a gaining power or...somedz'ing else entirely." She said. Bane nodded slowly to himself hearing her answer. Fact of the matter was, until they found the guy, the likely won't know why he was doing it.

"'ow did you find out about dz'ese killings?" She asked. "Did you know any of dz'e victims?" He shugged slightly.

Image " Sort of... the second set of victims were a couple who attended the church of Father Walker... He was a friend of mine... " He says slowly trailing off quieter and quieter. The car rapidly comes to a stop as they manage to run into a red light. " At first I had no idea about the linked murders... I was just looking into it as a single case.. but when I discovered all the other similar murders and more bodies kept piling up... I kept at it, but with little luck. " He glances over at Jacqueline as they stop, just now noticing the uncomfortable look on her face. " You alright?.. " He asked, clearly having not put together her dislike of his speed.

Image As their car sat at the stop light, waiting for it to turn green, another car came pulling up along theirs on Jacqueline's side. A simple white car, a few years old now, but still in rather nice condition. either one of them would notice from where they were, but a simple wooden cross hung from it's rear view mirror. Inside of said car sits a young woman who casually looked over into Banes car. She seems to gasp, as she realizes who is in the car.

Bane, still looking in Jacqueline's direction, notices the woman. His eyes widen to the size of dish plates as he

" Shit.... " Growled Bane, before slamming his foot down on the gas, disregarding the red light. Two other cars have to slam on their brakes as he pushes through the intersection out of turn, both avoiding hitting them, but just barely.

"I don' give a good damn who she tells or what she saw, I want out of dz'is damned car, NOW!" She screamed, her body quviering, sweat dotting her brow. The clear sign of annoyance covering his face as tries to block out her yelling. His eyes continue to dart between mirrors and out windows. Good... She hadn't followed them, so maybe she hadn't figured anything out... yet. He begins to look for a place to park, spotting a sparking he begins to pull up towards it.

"Marcus, I'm sorry, but please stop dz'e car....I need to get out."She said much more calmly yet with a shaky fearful voice. He nods understandingly, still with the vague look of annoyance on his face. He pulls into a parking space in front of an old diner. He takes a deep breath, gripping his steering wheel as he tries to relax himself.

Image "I'm sorry... " He says, turning to look at her as the car comes to a complete stop. " I'm sorry I freaked you out.. and .. I will try to ... watch my speed.. and I'm sorry I scared you with that sudden jolt through a red light." Looking away from her and towards the diners from window she went on. " This is an unusual alliance we have here.. and I'm not really use to 'working' with anyone directly, let alone someone who most my 'co-workers' would try and kill. "

As she crocheted out of his view, Bane jumped out of his side of the car, quickly walking around the front to see her slowly standing up. He watched her with worried eyes - He wasn't good with emotions... and normally he would have just walked away leaving her here to collect herself, but some how that just didn't seem right.

Image Taking his jacket off as he steps closer to her, trying to genitally place it on her back while she was still facing away from him, and rubbing her shoulders for a moment. To some this might seem like a minimalist gesture but, in Banes mind, this was the most he could do - maybe more then he should do even right now.

" Come on... " He says, turning back to glance at the diner before looking back at her. " Lets go sit down inside for a minute... "

Jacqueline lifted her head off the top of the car as a warm jacket was placed on her shoulders and a gentle sympathetic rub was given to them.

She looked over to see Marcus standing at her side. Worry in his eyes.

She hadn't expected this....this sympathy from him, he was technically the enemy, but suddenly he wasn't a witch hunter and she wasn't a witch.

She was a shivering scared woman and he was a sympathetic and kind hearted man.
Image
"Come on," He said with a quick glance to the diner. "Let's go sit down inside for a minute." He suggested and all Jacqueline could do was agree with a pitiful nod of the head.

Typically, Jacqueline was a confidence, vivacious woman, with no self doubt...atleast that' how she appeared and was often perceived, but now as they walked inside, Jacqueline somewhat leaning toward him, using her arms crossed over her chest to hold on to his jacket with dear life, she looked uncharacteristically vulnerable.

No one but her mother knew this side of her and even her mother hadn't seen it since.

They walked toward an empty booth as the waitress, a pretty blonde girl no older then 16 lead the way.
Image
Jacqueline took a seat opposite him and sighed.

"Dz'ank you...for dz'e jacket." She muttered softly, hesitantly pulling it from her shoulders."I'm sorry about dz'at, I'm not so good in cars." She said which at this point was the understatement of the century, she realized as she slowly handed him his jacket, as if she didn't really want to let it go just yet.

"Dz'ank you...for dz'e jacket." She muttered softly, slowly going to pulling it from her shoulders. "I'm sorry about dz'at, I'm not so good in cars." Bane held up his hand as she went to take the Jacket off her shoulders, shaking his head lightly.

" Keep it for now... " He says, clearly trying to seem sympathetic. " You look like you could- uhh.. Use it. "

Turning away from Jacqueline, Bane signaled for the waitress. Might as well hit two birds with one stone while they were here - after all ... he was still hungry. He smirked slightly as he looks back towards her.

" So what do you think are the chances we find this guy? " He asks in a vague attempt to change the subject.

Marcus shook his head some. "Keep it for now..." He told her. "You look like you could- uhh...Use it." he said, clearly not so good with empathy but at this point, Jacqueline was just grateful. She nodded slightly in thanks and pulled the jacket back over her shoulders as, he gestured for the waitress.

"So what do you think are the chances we find this guy?" he asked with a soft smirk, trying to change the subject.

"Good," She said. "If it is Magic, dz'en whatever he is doing with come at a price for him." She explained. "He may be killing innocent people, and some might think dz'at is the sacrifice itself but no, For really powerful spells and incantations. One must sacrifice somedz'ing personal-" She paused with an epiphany.
"We need to figure out who dz'e first victims were. Chances are they were probably important if not related to the killer." She said just as the waitress walked up, asking for their order.
"Tea. dz'at's all," She said and nodded toward Bane so the waitress would focus on him.

" Uuhh.. Sir... We don't normally serve alcoholic drinks at.. " She pauses, glancing back to look at the clock. " 10 in the morning.. " The young girl clearly not use to Banes type - at least not at this point in the day. He sighed, running a quick hand through his hair.

" Fine... make it a coffee... black.. " He say begrudgingly. She writes down his new order before walking off to the back. Bane watches as she leaves, once he was sure she was out of hearing distant he continued.

" All I remember off hand about the first victims were that they were an older couple... " Bane says, turning his attention back to Jacqueline. " I have some more information on them in my case files at the hotel room - but off hand I can't remember any children or such.. " He shrugs lightly. " But to be honest - most of my attention had been spent on trying to figure out who the next victims might be... " He grows quiet as the waitress returns with his coffee and her cup of tea. Placing it down and smiling.

" It'll be just a couple minutes on your food. " She says cheerfully before walking to another booth.

Bane holds out his hand towards Jacqueline. " There's a pocket on the left-hand inside with a flask in it. " He says, motioning for her to 'hand it over'.

He then gestured for her to hand it to him. With a roll of her eyes, she reached inside and grabbed the flask. "You need your mind unclouded if you want to successful solve dz'is case." "Have you ever heard of 'choosing your battles'?"He asked rhetorically. Jacqueline arched an eyebrow. "When you have enough hypocritical assholes around you in a given day -each one giving you the urge to punch them in the face as they continue to judge or yell at you...Drinking at 10 in the morning seems like the more appropriate urge to given in to," He said and Jacqueline just shook her head. "Present company excluded from that 'list' of hypocritical assholes or course." He said raising his glass to her.
Image
"Of Course." Jacqueline said with a roll of her eyes, and a small scoff of a laugh.

"Besides...I do my best work while I'm buzzed...or worse." he smirked and Jacqueline gave him a dry expression. "At least the 'work' I remember.",

Jacqueline rolled her eyes but there was a small hint of a smile on her lips. "Whatever, Smartass, Do as you please, however, I've experienced you drive whilst sober, I refuse to be in the czr with you while 'Buzzed'" she said air quoting. "From now on, I'll drive." She said. As the waitress sets down the food, Marcus began to dig in immediately. Clearly the hunger he had been talking about had been very real. After a few bites of food, he took a breath.

" Fine.. " He said, the hand not holding a fork diving down into his pants pocket and retrieving his keys. He tossed them on the table in front of her. " You can drive.. "What would you say the primary difference between...say...your classic Witch and a Satanic one? Beyond source of the powers and the usual mal intent.

"Choice." She said simple as she finished her tea.

"Dz'ere is no different type. Dz'e source of powers are dz'e same. It's simply Magic." She said, turning over her tea cup on it's saucer. "It is all a matter of choice, and how it is applied dz'at is dz'e difference." She said and sighed some. "Think of it like Fire. when it is used for good, it can be warm, provide safety, but when it is used for evil it can be dangerous, violent and destructive. It's all in dz'e application. Same wit Magic."
Image
She looked him in the eyes then. "Like Fire, Magic is neither good or evil, It's how a person decides to use magic, and who. Dz'ere is no such dz'ing as a 'Classic Witch' nor a 'Satantic' one. Satanism is a choice, a terrible choice but a choice nonedz'eless. It's not inherent in any way. It's been given a bad name because dz'e magic dz'at people know about was branded dz'at way out of fear, and dz'at fear stemmed from it being used in a malicious way. Good Magic Users....we kept magic to ourselves, kept it good, and safe, at first, dz'en we had no choice but to hide it, so we would not get hurt. " She said. This had been something she'd been hoping people would learn someday. That Magic wasn't something that was good or bad, those were human concepts.

"Magic just is, It exists and wielding it doesn't make a person good or bad, it what dz'e do with it, and even still it does not define Magic. Dz'at choice defines dz'e person themselves."
She said. "You should remember dz'at....should we be faced with a situation where I have to use magic."

(It's already, my last post was really short too :3 And Btw, Totally went a little Matrix just now with the whole choice bit, xD It was a coincidence but fitting and funny given your FC :3)

Image Bane listened to her explain the existence of Magic. As she talked, Banes face turned from that of curiosity to that of self reflection. He had to honest with himself... He knew how to hunt down, hurt, and even kill the most vial of Witches and Warlocks, but he had little to no idea how their magics worked. He had never really cared before ... He just assumed that someone using magic for evil must have been drawling it from an evil source.

"Magic just is, It exists and weilding it doesn't make a person good or bad, it what dz'e do with it, and even still it does not define Magic. Dz'at choice defines dz'e person themselves." She said. "You should remember dz'at....should we be faced with a situation where I have to use magic." He nodded slowly as he tossed a few dollars on the table for the bill.

Image " I will understand if you need to use magic... but.. " He says scooting out of the booth and getting to his feet. " I need you to understand.. that if it comes down to it.. and I have to kill someone... This Rogue Caster... or someone else trying to stop us - I will not hesitate to do so.. " He looked at her with deadly serious eyes, driving home his point of meaning ever word he said - before breaking his stoic face to give her a small smile. " but hopefully it won't come to that.. Come on - lets hit the road. "

Jacqueline Laveau

Jacqueline watched as Marcus nodded, and hoped he'd remember that from now on.

"I will understand if you need to use magic...but..." He scooted out of the seat and as did she. "I need you understand...that if it comes down to it...and I have to kill someone....This Rogue Caster...or someone else trying to stop us- I will not hesitate to do so." He said and she saw the sincerity in his eyes. She simply nodded. "I already figured as much," She said as his face suddenly brightened with a small grin. "But hopefully it won't come to that...Come on- Let's hit the road." He said, and Jacqueline found herself smiling as well.
ImageThere was something about this man. He was clearly not your average witch hunter....he was willing to listen...and to her no less. She's never had a man listen to,her for more then a few moments without their minds drifting towards what they would or could do to her given the opportunity, and while she was sure his mind went there, it wasn't whilst she was explaining Magic.

"I 'ave a question for you now." She said as they headed out to the parking lot. "Why do you live out of a 'otel? Are you not from 'ere?"

Image "I 'ave a question for you now." She said as they headed out to the parking lot. "Why do you live out of a 'otel? Are you not from 'ere?"

Bane sighed slightly at the question, walking ahead of her for a moment. Upon reaching his car he walked over to the passenger side, reaching out for the door handle. He looks down at his hand on the door, clearly in thought, before he finally looked back up at Jacqueline.

"That's a complicated question... Well.. not really.. Simple question, complicated answer. " He says as he opens the door, sliding into the car. As she entered the car, he continued. " I... was born here in New Orleans... but I grew up in Northern Missouri. By the time I was 18.. I started to travel.. a lot.. and by the time I was 21 I was back here... That's when I was shot dead. " He looked out the front window at traffic moving on the street. " Then the Church found me.. and I stayed. After a few years I became more... 'normal'... I had a House, a nice front lawn, a fa- .. " He pauses, looking up at her as if he was contemplating something. " a Dog..." He finally says. "... all the normal stuff your traditional 'Witch Hunter posing as your basic Christian' would have. "

Image Reaching over, he slid his hand into the pocket of the Jacket she wore, he pulled out a pack of cigarettes and a sliver lighter.

" Then.. One night I helped take down a particularly nasty Witch.. " he said before lighting the cigarette, taking a long drawl as it first starts to burn. Looking back out the window he remains quiet for another minute, not responding to anything she might ask.

" You know the story of Hansel and Gretel? The Brothers Grimm Fairy Tale? Two kids lost in the Woods - find a Witches Cottage made of Candy - Witch tries to eat the kids. Sounds like just one of those... growsly over exaggerated stories .. meant to make Witches sound all the more evil, right? Well... " He takes another puff - looking at her once again. " With this one, it was true... I understand what you're saying about magic not being evil.. that the only difference between a good and a bad Witch is choice.... well... This one had defiantly made the wrong choice." He looked away from her, as he turned his brow furrowed as if he was trying to believe his own words.

" She lured the kids in... with candy and sweets no less... and killed them.. Then she cut them up and cooked them - eating pretty much everything but the bones.. " His frowned deepened. " and as if that wasn't sick enough... She would hunt down the parents and use so kind of twisted magic to make them forget they ever even had kids.. Of course that didn't get rid of all the papers floating around with the kids name on it or make other people who remember the kids forget... so when the parents didn't put in a missing child report within a few days- the Schools, Distant family, and Neighbors would call... The Parents would end up in jail as people think they killed the kids all the while they can't remember a damn thing..." He shook his head, returning from his memories to the real world. He took another long drawl off his cigarette.

" Needless to say.. after this happened to a few different parents... We got wind of it... and we managed to track her down to a Trailer just a few miles outside of town. A few splashes of Holy Oil, a locked front door with an Anti-Magic Ward, and a Burnt down trailer later.. We thought we had her dead.." Bane took another long drawl off the cigarette, it's size now dwindling. His face began to grow pale as he told the story. " But... Some how she got out before the fire started... and she was pissed. " He rolled down his window, tossing the cigarette butt outside. " So while I was out having a celebratory drink with a few people - She managed to figure out where I lived and she - ... " He pauses, his breathing rate having increased as he looked like he was trying to find the words to use. He was doing his best to hide any emotion - but it was clearly starting to fail. " She.. " Bane closed his eyes, growing quiet.

(WOW.. that turned into a lot more then I thought it would. XD)

Image "Which 'otel?" She asked quietly. Bane sat there without answering for a minute, his eyes remaining shut as he let memories play through his head.

" Corner of Grove and Third Street.. " He said as his eyes finally opened. Sitting up right in his seat he cleared his throat as the car began to move.

" Anyways... That was Three years ago.. " Bane says as he watches the traffic pass by. " Now it's just easier to stay out of Hotels. The shorter I stay in any one places the less likely anyone can hunt me down. A Witch, cops, or anyone else.. Pretty much the only people who know where I'm staying at any given time are other Crusaders... and they tend to avoid me as much as possible these days. " As he talked any emotion that had been on his face would fade away leaving him with his normal 'dry' tone and stoic appearance.

He feigned a smile for her, accepting the keys back as she placed them in his hand.

"I don't blame all Witches for what happened.. " He says calmly. "The other Crusaders might... but I don't want to do anything but make sure no one gets hurt who doesn't have to."

Bane turned to look at the Hotel. It was clearly on the lower end of the Five Star rating. It had two stories, all the doors and windows of each room facing out towards the parking lot. The lot was mostly empty, only a few cars sprinkled here and there. Banks eyes suddenly locked onto a White Car parked near Room 14A.

"Son of a Bitch... " He mumbles before tossing the keys back at Jacqueline. "Get in the car and lock the door. If you see someone come walking out of that room without me, drive off - fast." He says as he reaches into the car, opening the glove box and pulling out what looks to be a gun. Quickly tucking it into the back of his pants before walking rapidly towards the room.
