As Bane finished off the last of his plate he let out a small sigh of relief. His hunger now subsided for a time, he could concentrate more on the case at hand.

" What would you say the primary difference between ... say.. your classic Witch and a Satanic one? Beyond source of the powers and the usual mal intent. " He says delving his hand into his pocket to grab his wallet out.

(Sorry this is so short. Posting via my phone :P)

Jacqueline Lavaeu

"What would you say the primary difference between...say...your classic Witch and a Satanic one? Beyond source of the powers and the usual mal intent.

"Choice." She said simple as she finished her tea.

"Dz'ere is no different type. Dz'e source of powers are dz'e same. It's simply Magic." She said, turning over her tea cup on it's saucer. "It is all a matter of choice, and how it is applied dz'at is dz'e difference." She said and sighed some. "Think of it like Fire. when it is used for good, it can be warm, provide safety, but when it is used for evil it can be dangerous, violent and destructive. It's all in dz'e application. Same wit Magic."
Image
She looked him in the eyes then. "Like Fire, Magic is neither good or evil, It's how a person decides to use magic, and who. Dz'ere is no such dz'ing as a 'Classic Witch' nor a 'Satantic' one. Satanism is a choice, a terrible choice but a choice nonedz'eless. It's not inherent in any way. It's been given a bad name because dz'e magic dz'at people know about was branded dz'at way out of fear, and dz'at fear stemmed from it being used in a malicious way. Good Magic Users....we kept magic to ourselves, kept it good, and safe, at first, dz'en we had no choice but to hide it, so we would not get hurt. " She said. This had been something she'd been hoping people would learn someday. That Magic wasn't something that was good or bad, those were human concepts.

"Magic just is, It exists and wielding it doesn't make a person good or bad, it what dz'e do with it, and even still it does not define Magic. Dz'at choice defines dz'e person themselves."
She said. "You should remember dz'at....should we be faced with a situation where I have to use magic."

(It's already, my last post was really short too :3 And Btw, Totally went a little Matrix just now with the whole choice bit, xD It was a coincidence but fitting and funny given your FC :3)

Image Bane listened to her explain the existence of Magic. As she talked, Banes face turned from that of curiosity to that of self reflection. He had to honest with himself... He knew how to hunt down, hurt, and even kill the most vial of Witches and Warlocks, but he had little to no idea how their magics worked. He had never really cared before ... He just assumed that someone using magic for evil must have been drawling it from an evil source.

"Magic just is, It exists and weilding it doesn't make a person good or bad, it what dz'e do with it, and even still it does not define Magic. Dz'at choice defines dz'e person themselves." She said. "You should remember dz'at....should we be faced with a situation where I have to use magic." He nodded slowly as he tossed a few dollars on the table for the bill.

Image " I will understand if you need to use magic... but.. " He says scooting out of the booth and getting to his feet. " I need you to understand.. that if it comes down to it.. and I have to kill someone... This Rogue Caster... or someone else trying to stop us - I will not hesitate to do so.. " He looked at her with deadly serious eyes, driving home his point of meaning ever word he said - before breaking his stoic face to give her a small smile. " but hopefully it won't come to that.. Come on - lets hit the road. "

Jacqueline watched as Marcus nodded, and hoped he'd remember that from now on.

"I will understand if you need to use magic...but..." He scooted out of the seat and as did she. "I need you understand...that if it comes down to it...and I have to kill someone....This Rogue Caster...or someone else trying to stop us- I will not hesitate to do so." He said and she saw the sincerity in his eyes. She simply nodded. "I already figured as much," She said as his face suddenly brightened with a small grin. "But hopefully it won't come to that...Come on- Let's hit the road." He said, and Jacqueline found herself smiling as well.
ImageThere was something about this man. He was clearly not your average witch hunter....he was willing to listen...and to her no less. She's never had a man listen to,her for more then a few moments without their minds drifting towards what they would or could do to her given the opportunity, and while she was sure his mind went there, it wasn't whilst she was explaining Magic.

"I 'ave a question for you now." She said as they headed out to the parking lot. "Why do you live out of a 'otel? Are you not from 'ere?"

Image "I 'ave a question for you now." She said as they headed out to the parking lot. "Why do you live out of a 'otel? Are you not from 'ere?"

Bane sighed slightly at the question, walking ahead of her for a moment. Upon reaching his car he walked over to the passenger side, reaching out for the door handle. He looks down at his hand on the door, clearly in thought, before he finally looked back up at Jacqueline.

"That's a complicated question... Well.. not really.. Simple question, complicated answer. " He says as he opens the door, sliding into the car. As she entered the car, he continued. " I... was born here in New Orleans... but I grew up in Northern Missouri. By the time I was 18.. I started to travel.. a lot.. and by the time I was 21 I was back here... That's when I was shot dead. " He looked out the front window at traffic moving on the street. " Then the Church found me.. and I stayed. After a few years I became more... 'normal'... I had a House, a nice front lawn, a fa- .. " He pauses, looking up at her as if he was contemplating something. " a Dog..." He finally says. "... all the normal stuff your traditional 'Witch Hunter posing as your basic Christian' would have. "

Image Reaching over, he slid his hand into the pocket of the Jacket she wore, he pulled out a pack of cigarettes and a sliver lighter.

" Then.. One night I helped take down a particularly nasty Witch.. " he said before lighting the cigarette, taking a long drawl as it first starts to burn. Looking back out the window he remains quiet for another minute, not responding to anything she might ask.

" You know the story of Hansel and Gretel? The Brothers Grimm Fairy Tale? Two kids lost in the Woods - find a Witches Cottage made of Candy - Witch tries to eat the kids. Sounds like just one of those... growsly over exaggerated stories .. meant to make Witches sound all the more evil, right? Well... " He takes another puff - looking at her once again. " With this one, it was true... I understand what you're saying about magic not being evil.. that the only difference between a good and a bad Witch is choice.... well... This one had defiantly made the wrong choice." He looked away from her, as he turned his brow furrowed as if he was trying to believe his own words.

" She lured the kids in... with candy and sweets no less... and killed them.. Then she cut them up and cooked them - eating pretty much everything but the bones.. " His frowned deepened. " and as if that wasn't sick enough... She would hunt down the parents and use so kind of twisted magic to make them forget they ever even had kids.. Of course that didn't get rid of all the papers floating around with the kids name on it or make other people who remember the kids forget... so when the parents didn't put in a missing child report within a few days- the Schools, Distant family, and Neighbors would call... The Parents would end up in jail as people think they killed the kids all the while they can't remember a damn thing..." He shook his head, returning from his memories to the real world. He took another long drawl off his cigarette.

" Needless to say.. after this happened to a few different parents... We got wind of it... and we managed to track her down to a Trailer just a few miles outside of town. A few splashes of Holy Oil, a locked front door with an Anti-Magic Ward, and a Burnt down trailer later.. We thought we had her dead.." Bane took another long drawl off the cigarette, it's size now dwindling. His face began to grow pale as he told the story. " But... Some how she got out before the fire started... and she was pissed. " He rolled down his window, tossing the cigarette butt outside. " So while I was out having a celebratory drink with a few people - She managed to figure out where I lived and she - ... " He pauses, his breathing rate having increased as he looked like he was trying to find the words to use. He was doing his best to hide any emotion - but it was clearly starting to fail. " She.. " Bane closed his eyes, growing quiet.

(WOW.. that turned into a lot more then I thought it would. XD)

Jacqueline's brow creased as he went on with his story. No wondered he hated Witchcraft.

She heard him stumble over the 'f' in Family.

"I am so sorry," She said softly, regretting ever even asking the question in the first place.

She wanted to do something to show her sympathy but it all felt a little wrong. She walked around the car and sighed as she climbed into the driver's seat.

Swallowing down her nerves, she put the key into the igniation.

"I understand now...Why you hate Magic...But There's no such thing as evil Magic...just evil people." she said looking over at him, it would take a more then a few strong words and speeches to make someone who's entire experience with magic has been filled with bloodshed believe that magic itself wasn't evil.

Especially when it directly was used to kill his own family.

She felt her fingers wrap around his hand briefly, and then move to the steering wheel.

"Which 'otel?" She asked, she had a good idea about which one given it was a five minute drive according to him, and she knew this town like the back of her hand so she sorta already knew but the last thing she wanted was to make him nervous. After all, He said that witch found out where he lived somehow. She didn't want any similarities.

(That was good, made me wanna hug em xD)

Image "Which 'otel?" She asked quietly. Bane sat there without answering for a minute, his eyes remaining shut as he let memories play through his head.

" Corner of Grove and Third Street.. " He said as his eyes finally opened. Sitting up right in his seat he cleared his throat as the car began to move.

" Anyways... That was Three years ago.. " Bane says as he watches the traffic pass by. " Now it's just easier to stay out of Hotels. The shorter I stay in any one places the less likely anyone can hunt me down. A Witch, cops, or anyone else.. Pretty much the only people who know where I'm staying at any given time are other Crusaders... and they tend to avoid me as much as possible these days. " As he talked any emotion that had been on his face would fade away leaving him with his normal 'dry' tone and stoic appearance.

"Corner of Grove and Third Street..." He said after a moment. Jacqueline kept her eyes on the road, while her eyes glossed a bit as she fought back tears.

"Anyways...That was Three years ago...Now it's just easier to stay out of Hotels. The shorter I stay in any one places the less likely anyone can hunt me down. A Witch, cops, or anyone else. Pretty much the only people who know where I'm staying at any given time are other Crusaders...and they tend to avoid me as much as possible these days."
Jacqueline's brow creased, as a tear rolled down her cheek. He'd gone from flirting and smiling to no emotion at all.

She didn't know what to do or say, so she kept her eyes forward, not wanting to keep him on this dark subject anymore.

She just hoped they found that Witch...if they didn't, she most certainly would. She hated those that used magic for evil...and childern no less.

Her hands gripped the steering wheel, at the thought of the horrors that must have taken places.

She pulled into a parking structure outside of the hotel and silently got out of the car, before walking up to him. "I'm sorry." She said quietly. "For...your loss, We'll find dz'is Rogue Witch before anyone else gets hurt." She said, gently placing the keys into his hands, and with her hands lingering on his for a brief moment of sympathy as well as empathy, she knew all too well what it was like to lose someone too a witch...there was only one difference in her case.

She was said Witch.

She gave his hand a squeeze and let go.

He feigned a smile for her, accepting the keys back as she placed them in his hand.

"I don't blame all Witches for what happened.. " He says calmly. "The other Crusaders might... but I don't want to do anything but make sure no one gets hurt who doesn't have to."

Bane turned to look at the Hotel. It was clearly on the lower end of the Five Star rating. It had two stories, all the doors and windows of each room facing out towards the parking lot. The lot was mostly empty, only a few cars sprinkled here and there. Banks eyes suddenly locked onto a White Car parked near Room 14A.

"Son of a Bitch... " He mumbles before tossing the keys back at Jacqueline. "Get in the car and lock the door. If you see someone come walking out of that room without me, drive off - fast." He says as he reaches into the car, opening the glove box and pulling out what looks to be a gun. Quickly tucking it into the back of his pants before walking rapidly towards the room.

"I don't blame all Witches for what happened..." He said softly. Jacqueline looked down briefly. "The other Crusaders might...but I don't want to do anything but make sure no one gets hurt who doesn't have to."
Jacqueline nodded. "I know dz'at. I can see dz'at." She said with a warm smile. She watched his attention drift toward the parking lot and a white car.

"Son of a Bitch..." He spat and tossed her back the keys. She caught them then looked up at him with a confused expression.

"If you see someone come walking out of that room without me, drive off-fast."He ordered her and Jacqueline did as she was told, she climbed in the front seat and watched with mild nervousness as he pulled a gun out of glove compartment.

She pursed her lips some as he walked off and locked the door.

"What do I do if I hear gunshots....?"

With that, an idea formed in her head and she closed her eyes, allowing her mind to drift.

Marcus' walk slowed as he neared the room, crouching down as he got to the front window. He glanced inward before mumbling a curse under his breath. He was right... She was in there... and if that wasn't bad enough she wasn't alone. Terresa Williams was becoming the bane of his existence ... no pun intended. He slipped forward towards the front door, staying crouched low enough to not be seen as he passed the window. He checks the door, it was unlocked - it was now or never.

Image
In one swift motion, Bane got to his feet and kicked the door inward. The door flew open, the two people sitting inside turning to look at Bane standing in the doorway. He glared at both of them as he stepped inside. Terresa Williams, a young woman in her mid-twenties, sat on the end of the bed looking towards Marcus with an expression of shock covering her face - clearly not expecting his sudden burst into the room. The other Micheal Turner, a middle-aged man in his late 30s early 40s, stands in the back of the room near the bathroom- not as shocked by his entrance. Bane gave them both a begrudged nod before slamming the door shut behind him.

" Williams... Turner.. To what do I owe the displeasure.. " He says as he walks towards a simple mini-bar sitting on the floor near the TV. Pulling a bottle of beer out from it's small collection of alcohol, he opens it up - tossing the bottle cap onto the carpet as he took a long drink.

Image
"Marcus.. It is 10:30 in the morning, if you want something to drink - here... Have some water. " Says Micheal as he fills a glass with water front the rooms bathroom sink.

" Why is it every time I try and have a drink, everyone wants to 'remind' me of what time it is." grumbles Bane before taking another drink off his beer. Micheal walks up to Bane, trying to hand him the glass and take his beer. Bane knocks the glass of water out of his hand, letting it spill out over the carpet below.

" Real mature... " Says Micheal, his and Banes eyes locked in a glare. Terresa slowly stood up, placing her hands on both their shoulders as she pushed them apart.

" We came here - " She says looking at Micheal as if trying to remind him of the 'mission' at hand. " To make sure everything is alright... I saw you in your car with a Witch.. and when you saw me you sped off.. " She stepped in between the two of them. "What's the deal Marcus, We Hunt Witches ... We don't give them rides in our cars." She glared up at Bane. "You haven't forgotten that have you?"

"You think I've forgotten what it is that we do?" He says, stepping forward - leaving little to no room between the two of them. Inches from her face, nearly spitting he yells. " I can never forget, I'm reminded every damn day I look in the mirror - I know what I'm fucking doing!" As he yelled at her, Micheal walked towards the window, pulling back the thin curtain to get a better look outside.

" Then what's she still doing in your car? " He asked, turning back to look at the two of them. " I mean.. I assume that is her.." Terresa glared at Bane again before she walked over to the window, looking out into the parking lot.

"That is her!" She yelled - turning back to look at Bane again. "It's bad enough you've been driving her around, now you've brought her to where you're staying!? What the fuck do you think you're doing Marcus - are you trying to fuck a Witch or something!?" She screamed at him. "Haven't you already been fucked over by enough Witches!" His eyes flared as she screamed at him. His fist clinching as he began to grind his teeth.

"Get... the FUCK out of here.. " He said quietly, clearly trying to hold back his anger.

" and if we don't?! " She asked. Bane reached for the gun tucked into the belt along his back, pointing it down at the ground but making it visible.

" Get... OUT.. " he said louder.

" You won't " She said, stepping closer. Micheal brought his hands up to her shoulders, holding her back from stepping any closer. Faster then anyone could realize, Bane rose his arm and shot at the mirror in the back of the room - causing it to shatter. The room echoing with the sound of gunfire - both Terresa and Micheal flinching as the shot goes out.

"OUT!" He yelled.

" Lets go.. " Micheal said as he dragged Terresa towards the door. The two of them quickly leaving the room - Bane followed, standing in the doorway glaring at them as they got into her White car and took off. Once they departed the parking lot, Bane would vanish back into the room.

Jacqueline Lavaeu

Astroprojection was an ability that most witches there entire lives to master , allowing her floating away from her body, allowing her to be wherever she wanted without being noticed. A fly on the wall so to speak.

However for Jacqueline, it was merely a fraction of what her natural gifts really were.

For now, she guided her consciousness toward the hotel room, where Marcus disappeared into.

She watched as two Crusaders questioned him, the woman from before and a Man, she hadn't seen.

The woman-Teressa edged him on mentioning her, Marcus seemed none too pleased and all the other man -Micheal did was make it worse by pointing her out in the car.

"Shit!"She thought to herself wishing she had lay down before Projecting.

After a moment or two of aguring, Marcus pulled a gun and not a moment later did he fire.

Jacqueline as well as the other did not expect him to fire, and the shock of it, since Jacqueline's mind flying back into her body.

"Oow." She said, holding her head, just as that white car drove passed her quickly. She also saw Marcus disappear back inside and decided that was her cue to go. She exited the car, locked the door and made her way toward the hotel room, but stopped just short of the door, when she felt moisture just under her nose.

"Shit..." She whispered and dug into her bag for a tissue.

Magic always comes at a price, even if that just meant she'd deal with a nosebleed.

She cleaned up quickly before knocking on the door, and entering.
"Marcus," She said softly, closing the door behind her. It was always odd seeing the same place with her own eyes just after using her mind's eyes.
Image
"Let me clean dz'is up. Glass is a pain in dz'e arse to get out of carpet." She said getting to the floor and picking up the shards of glass from the floor. "Room Service will 'ave to get rest of it- ah!" She winced as shard pricked her finger.

She didn't know why but she felt a little awkward, especially after such an altercation and his revealing why he had his hatred for witchcraft, yet still he worked with her.

He was a good man, and for some reason life keeps testing him.

She didn't understand.

"Leave it.. " He mumbles from where he sits on the bed, his brow furrowed as he looks out the window in thought. The gun lay discarded on the bed beside him, already forgotten by Bane as his mind as focused on other matters.

"Room Service will 'ave to get rest of it- ah!" She winced as shard pricked her finger.

" I said to leave it - " he says, turning to look at her. With a frustrated sigh he gets to his feet, walking over to the young Jacqueline. Picking up the small waist basket off the floor - he takes the glass from her, placing it into the waist basket, before trying to take her hand to look over it's 'damage'. " We can't stay here... " He says, before trying to walk her to the sink. " If the gun shot didn't get someone attention enough to call the cops... They'll be back before to much longer... probably with others looking for you.. "

"I said leave it." He said somewhat frustrated. With that he walked over with a wastebasket, collected the glass, she had in her open palm, and dumping it inside.

"We can't stay here..." He said taking her hand and looking it over. Jacqueline looked up at him, for a moment, wondering what he was thinking as he walked her toward the sink.

"If the gun shot didn't get someone's attention enough to call the cops...They'll be back before too much longer...probably with others looking for you..."
Jacqueline felt her spine stiffen in fear. "Okay." She said quietly as she watched his face. "We can go to my place...After we collect all of your evidence and case files."

All of these trouble, just because she was there...because she was a witch. It wasn't like she had a choice, she was born a Witch, not made one.

Bane began to wash her hand off at the sink, cleaning the wound. He remained quiet as he did so. The sound of the running water filled the silent room. One hand remaining on hers, as his other goes for a small bag sitting by the sink, which he pulls a simple cloth from - using it to dry off her wounded hand.

Image
"I'm grateful for you.. " He says, still looking down at her hand in his hand. He lingers on that sentence for a long minute. " That you are willing to put up with the risk of helping me.. " He lets go of her hand, turning back, walking into the middle of the room. " As far as being treated some way.. After this is done.. They'll understand what I'm doing.. but until then.. I can't even begin to imagine they'd understand. "

Bane begins to collect a few things throughout the room- tossing them on the bed.

Jacqueline allow him to clean her hand, while watching the stern expression on his face as he did so.

Once finished, He placed a towel on her hand and dried her palm and finally decided to speak.

"I'm grateful for you..." He said, his eyes still on their intertwined hands. Jacqueline felt her heart race as the sentence lingered in the air for a moment.

"That you are willing to put up with the risk of helping me..."[b] He said and let go of her hand, leaving it cold as it turned back into the room. Jacqueline couldn't bring herself to move just yet.

[b]"As far as being treated some way; After this is done. They'll understand what I'm doing...but until then...I can't even begin to imagine they'd understand."

Jacqueline moved to him then, helping him gather his things. "We will make them understand." She said, putting them in a neat pile. "We will." she said and smiled warmly.

Collecting up a large box from the corner, Bane began to walk towards the door.

" I'm gonna put these files in the car first... We'll need them if they some back up before I get done packing.. " He says, opening the Hotel room door. He stopped, standing in the doorway with box in his arms. He turned back slowly, looking at Jacqueline like he wanted to say something... Something more then he knew he should... Bane shook his head slightly, biting his toungue, and headed out to the car - closing the door behind him.

Image
"Interesting..." said an unfamiliar male voice coming from the back - accompanied by an overwhelming sense of darkness filling the room.

Turning around, Jacqueline would see an older man leaning against the Hotel Room sink. In appearance, he is not that unlike Marcus - Slender build, untrimmed face, button-up shirt, black jacket and pants. However unlike Bane, this man was much older - likely in his early 50s, slightly taller or in higher heeled shoes, stood with a cane in his hands, and came accompanied with an overwhelming sense of dread. With no visible back door, and having not been more then 10 feet away from the front, he could not have possible walked in without someone noticing.

" You should really be much more careful about letting your 'mind wounder' ... " he says, clearly implying her recent astral projection trip. " You never know when you might 'bump' into someone.. " His lips curling into a smile - which would leave you with more worry then comfort.

Jacqueline watched Bane as he collected his materials in a box, feeling a little helpless. She wanted to help him, make him feel better about the whole thing.

"I'm gonna put these in the car first...We'll need them if they come back before I'm done packing..."

Jacqueline simply nodded, her arm crossed over her chest, her hand gently holding the other arm at the elbow.

Queitly, she watched him turn as if he were about to say something but changed his mind before walking out.

Image
She sighed before an overwhelming sense of darkness loomed from behind her, causing her to rub the chills from the back of her neck.

"Interesting." Said a voice from behind. Jacqueline turned around with a start as an older man leaned against the sink.
She backed up some, the corner of her eyes keeping her attention on the gun on the bed.
"You should really be much more careful about letting your 'mind wonder'..."
Image
Jacqueline's eyes went wide.
"What..?"

"You never know when you might 'bump' into someone."

Jacqueline's nostrils flared in annoyance.

"Stay away." She barked, as her mind scanned for a protection spell and backing away some more, hopefully toward the door so Bane could see her clearly having a conversation. "You know dz'is is a Witch 'unter's 'otel room, 'e'll be back any second." She said, as her hand slipped into her bag and gripped a book from inside.
She couldn't believe just how terrifying this man was, Was he the one they were after? How did he know where to find them? How'd he get in here? How did he know about her astroprojection?

More importantly, Where in the Hell was Bane?

" Ooohh.. You can calm down. " He says before standing up off the sink, taking a single step further into the middle of the room.

He holds out a hand and as he does - a wooden chair scoots on its own, out of the corner of the room, and stops in front of this dark figure. Pulling it around so that he might sit, still facing the scared girl.

Image "I'm pretty sure I'm not going to kill you... " He says, giving her another discomforting smile. He leans forward in the chair, resting his hands on his cane, and his head on his hands.

"And yes, I know whose room this is ...and I might be intimidated by the fact that he was a Witch Hunter, IF I were a Witch... " He says as he rolls his fingers. "Actually, that would be why I'm here... because YOU little Missy.. are a Witch! and you should really know better then to be hanging around the likes of poor ol' Bane. Don't you know what he's done to little girls like you?" As he talks the room would slowly grow darker and darker until he would appear to be the only visible thing in the room - almost like he himself were immune to the 'darkness' around him.

"Oh- .. but what's this? " He says sitting up, placing a hand on his chest. " The poor little dear has f-f-feelings for Ol' Witch Hunter Bane.. How cute- but do you do know how this is going to end for you, right?" He sudden vanishes into the darkness - leaving Jacqueline in the room completely devoid of any light.

"You're gonna burn!" Says the mystery man, suddenly appearing right in front of Jacqueline with a wild grin covering his face.

Jacqueline took a step back as he stepped forward.

"Ohhh you can calm down." He said and Jacqueline set her jaw as she pulled her book from her bag, watching the man pulling a chair to him.

Telekinesis....not an easy magic to manipulate.

"I'm pretty sure I'm not going to kill you..." He said with a wicked grin. Jacqueline's hand gripped on her book. "And yes, I know whose room this is...and I might be intimidated by this fact that he was a Witch Hunter, IF I were a Witch." He said and Jacqueline cocked her head confused. "What are you talking about?"

[b]"Actually that would be why I'm here...because YOU little Missy..are a Witch! and you should really know better then to be hanging around the likes of poor ol' Bane. Dont' you know what he's done to little girls like you?"

Jacqueline was distracted by the sudden darkening of the room, save for the light that hovered around him. She didn't know what to do in this situation. Crusaders she could figure out but this guy, who used Magic but didn't believe himself a witch? She had nothing for, what spell would work against him?

"Oh- but what's this?" He said standing, calling her attention to him once more, standing and placing a hand over his chest.

"The poor little dear has f-f-feelings for Ol' Witch Hunter Bane. How cute-" Jacqueline huffed. How could he know that? She wasn't even sure if that were true or not. "But do you do know how this is going to end for you, right?" And suddenly, he was gone, Jacqueline reached in her bag once more and grabbed a handful something...

"You're gonna burn!" He said, appearing before her' Jacqueline yelped but recovered, she held up her hand blew pure salt in the man's eyes before side stepping and running for the bed, she gripped Bane's gun and turned toward him "You dz'ink dz'at burns..." She said and cocked the hammer. "Come closer..." She warned him, her breathing ragged but her eyes unwavering

Jacqueline held up her hand blew pure salt in the man's eyes before side stepping and running for the bed, she gripped Bane's gun and turned toward him.

He grimaced as his hand went flying to his eyes as he stumbled backwards, letting out a hiss that sounded like Cicadas on a hot summer day. "You little BITCH.. " He growls.

"You dz'ink dz'at burns..." She said and cocked the hammer. "Come closer..."

As he removed his hand from his eyes, he looked at Jacqueline with eyes now glowing red. Rage flowed through this man as the terrifying smile was replaced with that of a more horrific scowl.

" I will warn you once... " He says looking the girl up and down. " Stay away from Marcus Bane... if you value your life. "

As he speaks, there would be a sudden pounding on the front door. ".. Jacqueline?" bane could be hear yelling from the other side, before the pounding becomes louder - as Bane began to try and kick in the door.

Image " If you don't .. I get the feeling we'll be seeing a lot more of each other... " says the Mystery man as his smile begins to curl again. He gives her a slow bow, before the front door would fly open - just as he vanishes.

Bane stood in the doorway- breathing heavily as he looked around the room.

"Jacqueline!?"

" I will warn you once... " The man hissed and Jacqueline stood there, her breathing heavy. " Stay away from Marcus Bane... if you value your life. " " If you value yours, you'll stay away from me." She warned him, her hands still on the gun. Her brown eyes wide and full of fury and fear.
".. Jacqueline?"

There was banging on the door, now, Bane couldn't get in for whatever reason but she couldn't think about that now.
Image
" If you don't .. I get the feeling we'll be seeing a lot more of each other... " He said and Jacqueline frowned. " I'm sure we well." She said as he disappeared.

Bane stood in the doorway- breathing heavily as he looked around the room.

Image "Jacqueline!?" He said, snapping her back to the present. She looked at the door, dropped her hand and then to her knees and began to sob, shivering much too much for a warm day in New Orleans.
"He came from nowhere....claims he wasn't a witch but he used magic....Dz'ere was so much darkness....I've never felt such powerful darkness before..." She sobbed. It didn't matter that she was prepared the fight, she was still terrified of him.

"He's is going to hurt me....for helping you....He told me....to stay away....I....I've never been so afraid in my life." She sobbed and closed her hands over her eyes and her sobs turned into terrified cries.

She dropped to the floor, shivering with fear. Bane rushed to her side, getting down on his knees as he tried to help her - but still had no idea what was really going on.

"He came from nowhere....claims he wasn't a witch but he used magic....Dz'ere was so much darkness....I've never felt such powerful darkness before..." She sobbed. Bane looked around the room in a flurry, trying to find whoever she was talking about before turning his attention back to her.

"Who!? Who did this!? " he.asked her while trying to hug her, comforting her the only way he knew how.

"He's is going to hurt me....for helping you....He told me....to stay away....I....I've never been so afraid in my life." She sobbed. Bane face turned from a look of panic to a look of anger.

"Listen- Jacqueline. Listen!" He said, placing his hands on her face. "I'm not going to let anyone hurt you, I promise- okay!?" Bane would try and brush a tear off her face as he looked into her eyes. "Whoever it was.. we have them scared- don't you see? Otherwise they wouldn't have shown themselves to you. We are doing the right thing here- we are... "

Bane would try and comfort her again, holding her tight against him. "And they should be scared..."

"Listen-Jacqueline. Listen!" Bane said, placing his hands on either side of her face, "I'm not going to let anyone hurt, I promise-Okay?!" He said, brushing her seemingly ever flowing tears from her cheeks with his thumb.

She looked him in the eyes, hoping to find comfort in them and she did. Her tears lessened but her shivering didn't stop. "Whoever it was...we have them scared- don't you see? Otherwise they wouldn't have shown themselves to you. We are doing the right thing here- we are..." He said and pulled her against him, holding her tight. She rested her head against his chest, glad for once for her inability to dream, otherwise, he would haunt them.

"Any they should be scared..."

Jacqueline nestled her head into his chest some, holding tight to him to stop the shivering and after a moment of listening to his heart beat, her shivering finally stopped.

She looked up at Marcus then, her eyes finding his. All she could do was watch him for a moment.

That man was right, she did have feelings for him, and they were growing stronger by the moment. She didn't understand why...After all, he probably did do bad things to witches in the past but it all seemed not to matter to her when she knew she should.

"Marcus..." She said, her voice small as his name lingered.

In that same moment, sirens could be heard outside. "We 'ave to go." She said looking away, pulling herself from the saftey of his arms. "Dz'ey'll be 'ere soon." She said quietly, and pulled the keys from his jacket pocket that she was still wearing.

Even with it on, she felt no safety then she did in his arms.

She knew she had to shake it off, these feelings of hers. He couldn't possible feel the same way, so there was no point, aside from the fact that they'd only just met.

"'ere you drive, I...can't." She said and placed the keys in his hands, her fingers lingering on his for a moment too long.

She waited for him to go before exiting the room, her arms wrapped tightly around herself to compensate for his missing warmth.

Marcus kept holding her, even as he saw that she was beginning to calm down. She looked up at him, her eyes finding his - and it was at that moment, on the inside, he felt like he had been struck by lightning. His heart rate suddenly increasing, his palms suddenly damping, if he would have been standing- his legs would have become weak, all in a sudden 'flash' realization as he sat there with her. He had feelings for her - not just attraction or lust, which would be easy to believe - but something more.

Image "Marcus..." She said, causing him to come out of his internal 'stuper'. The cry of sirens could be heard from the distance.

"We 'ave to go." She said looking away, pulling herself from him. "Dz'ey'll be 'ere soon." Bane nodded slowly, remaining on his knees for a moment as she began to stand. He remains looking down for a moment, his skin having turned pale as though he'd seen a ghost. Rather.. he had felt one... He hadn't felt this way since his wife died....

"'ere you drive, I...can't." She said and placed the keys in his hands, her fingers lingering on his for a moment too long. He would look up at her as she put the keys in his hands, and both of his hands would wrap around hers, giving her a soft smile and a nod.

Finally jumping up, he nods again - grabbing a duffle bag out of the closet, and starts tossing things off the bed into it.

Image "You're right.. Unless you think we could talk the Cops into believing the door got kicked in and the mirror got shot all accidentally.. " He says as a small smirk would start to form on his face - already forgetting about all the trouble they were already in - and the Myster Man that had just been added to the puzzle. He darted around the room, picking up speed and energy as he finishes gathering his things. He seems oddly.... happy?

" Alright - Go go go go! " He says, picking up the duffle bag and starting to push Jacqueline along out the door. Bane knew he was acting odd - but he felt... oddly good. He liked this girl... and while he knew it could never work... ever... the feeling was his to keep for now. Nearly pushing her the whole way to the car - Bane tossed the duffle bag into the back seat.

"Where to?" he asked as he jumped into the drivers side of the car.
