ImageAi'Ella sat in her room, looking at herself in the larger ornate mirror. She gazed at her reflection. She didn't feel like a woman about to turn 21. She looked down at her fingers, as she rubbed the oils into her hands. She looked back at the mirror and found Arturo in the reflection. Butterflies dancing in her stomach the way they always had when she caught sight of him.
"Do I look twenty one, Arturo?" She asked him with a slight tilt of her head before looking back at herself, taking in the soft plains of her face, her large doll eyes, the warm brown skin she inherited from her late mother, as well as her chestnut brown tendrils of hair that she currently wore pulled back hair behind her head. "I don't think I look twenty one. I look the same as I always have." She said and smiled. "Well, maybe not as I always have. I'm certainly not you." She said with a small giggled. Arturo had always looked the same, since she was very small. She didn't question it until the butterflies came when she was about thirteen. He came up with all sorts of different reasons, none of them sated her curiosity but she figured he'd tell her one day...it never stopped her from asking though. "Will you tell me now?" She asked as she turned to him, smiling. "I'll be an adult in less than a week, " She sang, batting her lashes hoping to get her way. Sometimes it worked, most times it didn't. "It could be your gift to me." She giggled as she rose from her seat and walked up to him. "To tell me how you never change." She said, smiling. She was glad he didn't change. Things changed in the palace all the time, she didn't like change. One moment, she was just a girl playing in the gardens, then the next, being primed and shoved in corsets to meet suitors, men who wanted her hand in hopes of becoming king. She hated it. At least Arturo never changed and he never asked for anything more than who she was. He knew her, no one else ever bothered to learn. Not even her father.

Image Arturo stood watching Ai'Ella carefully as she rubbed the oil gently into her hands, of course he had checked the oils before she used them. Just in case they had been replaced with harmful materials, Acid..poisons that could be soaked into the body.

"Do I look twenty one, Arturo?" She asked him with a slight tilt of her head before looking back at herself, taking in the soft plains of her face, her large doll eyes, the warm brown skin she had almost glowing. "I don't think I look twenty one. I look the same as I always have. Well, maybe not as I always have. I'm certainly not you." She said with a small giggle, which Arturo mirrored with a small smile. The princess always asked him why he had never aged as she grew older over his careful protection. He had said many different things to her but had strayed so far away from the truth that now it was drawing closer to his date of reckoning he would rather someone else tell her rather than him it would be less painful.

"Will you tell me now?" She asked as she turned to him, smiling. "I'll be an adult in less than a week,It could be your gift to me." She giggled as she rose from her seat and walked up to him. "To tell me how you never change."

Arturo stood a little straighter as she approached his hands returning to fold behind his back. He gave a light chuckle " You are still young your highness. Still looking as beautiful as ever." He paused as he walked to the door opening it for her he bowed low and spoke as he rose up " The time has come for you to find out, but it is not I who will be telling you. Your father requests your presence in the drawing room to..." He trailed off his strong demeanour fading a little. " Discuss things" he looked to her and forced a smile on his face.

" You are still young your highness. Still looking as beautiful as ever." Arturo said and Ai’Ella blushed, cursing the butterflies that fluttered violently in her stomach. He bowed and she turned up her nose. She hated when he did that. She never saw him that way. He was her guardian sure, but he was her friend. " The time has come for you to find out, but it is not I who will be telling you. Your father requests your presence in the drawing room to..." His voice trailed off, losing it’s strength. " Discuss things" A cold chill ran up her spine then, his smile was forced and she knew it.
“That smile was fake, Arturo, I know you.” She said, and she would soon find out how wrong she was.
They moved to the drawing room where her father sat with three other guardians. Her father’s personal guard as well as an executioner. Ai’Ella reached out for Arturo’s sleeve as she always done when she’s afraid. Her father glared at Arturo, as he always done. Her father never liked him she didn’t know why, since he protected her.
“Your Grace.” Ai’Ella bowed graciously. He smiled at her but it faded when his gaze fell on Arturo again. “Ai’Ella. What do you know of your mother?”
Image
Ai’Ella was taken aback by the sudden question. She paused. “I know very little other than the color she gave me.” She said and her father sighed. “You know that she died when you were very small, correct.” Ai’Ella nodded. “It was said that she was protecting me, from a monster.” She said and she felt Arturo stiffen beside her.
“Yes, she was protecting you.” He said and his glare narrowed on Arturo.
“From him.” He said and Ai’Ella wiped around to her guardian as the guards seized him. “Father! What are you saying? Arturo isn’t a monster, he’s my friend, he’s always protected me.” Her head swam. “I don’t understand.” She said, with wide eyes. Her father walked up to Arturo. “Explain it to her. Tell her what you did to her mother.” He said and Ai’Ella looked at her guardian, confused and afraid. “Tell her how you killed her.”

Image “That smile was fake, Arturo, I know you.” He words stabbed him in the chest, all these years of lies that would soon be stripped away.
As they moved to the drawing room where the king sat with three other guardians. His personal guard as well as an executioner. Arturo's gaze went to the floor he looked as Ai’Ella reached out for Arturo’s sleeve as she always done when she was afraid he tried to smile at her the best he could given the circumstances.

“Your Grace.” Ai’Ella bowed graciously and Arturo followed keeping his bow a little longer knowing how the king despised him, he kept his gaze fixed straight ahead of him as the pair talked. “Ai’Ella. What do you know of your mother?”
“I know very little other than the color she gave me.”
“You know that she died when you were very small, correct.”
“It was said that she was protecting me, from a monster.”
“Yes, she was protecting you.” He said and his glare narrowed on Arturo, causing him to stiffen.
“From him.”
As the guards seized him Arturo allowed them to restrain him, even though he could throw them all off if he wanted too he decided against it. He closed his eyes in defeat as Ai started to protest.

“Father! What are you saying? Arturo isn’t a monster, he’s my friend, he’s always protected me. I don’t understand.” The king walked up to Arturo his eyes looking down of the floor. “Explain it to her. Tell her what you did to her mother.”l Tell her how you killed her.”

Arturo let out a slow breath "It's true. Many years ago when I myself was about to turn 21 as you are My Lady. We were hunting under the full moon. I had chased a deer through to the outskirts of the royal grounds, it got away, the kingdom had been moving on our land for a while now. In....my other form smells are heightened and the smell of human blood is like a drug that you have to take." He paused as a few tears trickled down his eyes. Splashing down his cheeks.

" I broke into the castle and found the source of the smell..your mother. I clamped down on her neck and tore her apart. No blood it sweeter than the blood of royals, not to a werewolf anyway." he looked to the king. " perhaps your highness would be so kind as to tell the rest. My memory is hazy" Arturo tilted his head.

"It's true.
Ai visibly shook. "What?"
Many years ago when I myself was about to turn 21 as you are My Lady. We were hunting under the full moon. I had chased a deer through to the outskirts of the royal grounds, it got away, the kingdom had been moving on our land for a while now. In....my other form smells are heightened and the smell of human blood is like a drug that you have to take." He paused, tears glossing his eyes, and few fell to his cheeks, Ai'Ella wanted to reach out and brush them away but she couldn't, for the words he spoke.
Human blood? Other form? What in the all hell was he going on about?

" I broke into the castle and found the source of the smell..your mother. I clamped down on her neck and tore her apart. No blood it sweeter than the blood of royals, not to a werewolf anyway." he looked to the king. " perhaps your highness would be so kind as to tell the rest. My memory is hazy" Arturo tilted his head.

Ai closed her hands over her ears. "No! Stop! I don't want to hear anymore! You're lying both of you!" She cried but for some reason she knew it in her heart to be true. He admitted it.

Ai looked at her Guardian then her father. "You hear him, Ai' Ella, he admitted it." He told her and she shook her head. "Then why am I still alive?!" She spat. "You said my mother was protecting me, so if he killed her, then why didn't he kill me, I was only a few years old." She said and her father glared at Arturo. "That has always been the question, when the guards found your mother, they found you too, covered in mother's blood, playing with the thing that killed her." He said. "When we tried to pull you away, you cried, not wanting to let your "friend" go. So I let him live, made him your guardian, if he failed at his task, he would have been beheaded years ago." He said and Ai's heart ached as she looked at Arturo. "You were only my friend, so not to lose your head, that's why you've always been so nice to me? So kind? Because the moment I was upset, my father would have you killed?" She said, her lip quivering, and tears falling down her copper cheeks.

"You are a woman now, Ai'ella. Soon you will marry and become a Queen in your own right. You spared his life once, but only because you knew not the truth, now you do. So tell me, Princess, will you spare it again?" Her father asked and Ai looked at Arturo. He killed her mother, he was only her friend so not to be killed. He was a monster... "What?"

"You may choose to keep him as your guardian, or have him executed for his crimes." Her father said and Ai looked at Arturo once more. The butterflies were gone. He scared them away... or killed them, like he had her mother.

"Take him away." She said with a wave of her hand and turned away, but after a long moment, she added

"But don't kill him, I haven't decided yet" She said.

"You have until your birthday to decided, you have suitors coming from the neighboring Kingdoms." Her father said and Ai wanted to cry.

Arturo had a week to live...if she decided he'd live at all.

"You hear him, Ai' Ella, he admitted it." He told her and she shook her head. "Take him away." She said and Arturo's eyes widened with absolute fear. "But don't kill him, I haven't decided yet"

He struggled as the guards began to drag him away " Ai! Please! I'm your friend! Maybe when I first became your guardian I did want to pretend to be your friend. But as you got older and I started to get to you know I enjoyed being your friend and guardian. You have to believe me. Please!" He pleaded tears rolling down his cheeks, he wasn't one to show his emotion much, mainly because he barely knew how.

He growled as his hands were tied up into chains and he was dragged away to the prison and thrown into a cell.

" Ai! Please! I'm your friend! Maybe when I first became your guardian I did want to pretend to be your friend. But as you got older and I started to get to you know I enjoyed being your friend and guardian. You have to believe me. Please!"

Ai lay in her bedchambers, her head and heart aching. His final words to her echoing in her mind. It had been hours since she last saw him. She worried for him wondered how they were treating him ,yet couldn't bring herself to see him. That's why he never told her why he never aged, the truth was so much darker then she imagined. She thought he was something beautiful, inhuman but beautiful but now she saw that he was something terrifying.

She lay on her bed, looking out at the window and the moonlight shined brightly through the silk curtain. She whimpered, looking at where Arturo would stand, watching the window for intruders, watching her sleep with that soft smile of his, the smile that brought the butterflies.

She sat up. The butterflies were back.

She quickly made her way down to the dungeon, and found his cell.

"Arturo." She said, and she was unsure why she was even here.

"Tell me, tell me what you are, maybe I'll be able to understand?"

Arturo had spent most of his time in the cell pacing, he hated small spaces he could just about cope with this one. His mind was pounding with the upcoming events, if Ai decided he would die and there would be rejoicing across the kingdom that the beast that had killed the fair queen was dead and gone.

He sat down the heavy chains on his wrists weighing him down, he closed his eyes as he felt the moon's Rays on his face. They were cooling in a way and eased his troubles. Oh how he wished he was back in Ai's bedroom watching over her and everything surrounding her.

"Arturo."

Arturo stood up at the voice and walked towards the door seeing Ai made him smile softly, what was she doing here on her own?

" tell me. Tell me what you are, maybe I'll be able to understand?"

Arturo nodded but didn't stir from his duties as gaurdian. " If the guards catch you down here talking to me, your father won't be pleased and may make the decision himself." He gave a soft laugh and continued " I'm a werewolf...meaning that every time a full moon graces the sky. I change. I change into a large wolf, an angry wolf at that. They can be tamed but it takes years of practice. When I came here and...attacked your mother. I was handed to a witch who cursed me to remain the same age as I am now for 21 years to watch over you. As well as blocking my wolf away from the full moon. I've become used to it now, not being able to feel the wind in the tress and the dirt on my feet. I feel that my wolf may have left for good, if he was released now he would lose control and probably die." He explained as best he could to the young princess, he wanted to hold her hand and tell her that everything was going to be allright. Like whenever she hurt herself as a child he would console her and make her smile.

" If the guards catch you down here talking to me, your father won't be pleased and may make the decision himself." He said with a soft smile that brought back the butterflies. Always the dutiful guardian. "They can go to all Hell..."She quipped rather unladylike. " I'm a werewolf...meaning that every time a full moon graces the sky. I change. I change into a large wolf, an angry wolf at that. They can be tamed but it takes years of practice. When I came here and...attacked your mother. I was handed to a witch who cursed me to remain the same age as I am now for 21 years to watch over you. As well as blocking my wolf away from the full moon. I feel that my wolf may have left for good, if he was released now he would lose control and probably die.

Ai took a deep breath, letting everything he said sink in. That's why he never aged, he was cursed to remind the same, for her. To be the same monster that took her mother, but the one she befriended.

But the monster was gone, they locked it away...he couldn't hurt her or anyone with the monster gone.

She went back in her mind that night, it was all hazy but she remembered eyes, large and red, but they didn't scare her, she remembered reaching for it, her hands smoothing over soft fur...Ai'ella closed her hands as if feeling the fur in her palm. That was Arturo then...why did he not kill her too?

Before she could make any decision, good or bad, there were a few things she had to know.

"Did you...mean to do it?" She asked him through the bars. "Did you mean to kill my mother? Did you know what you were doing?" She asked. In her mind, if the monster was in control, with him gone, there was no need to kill the man that shared his space. It wouldn't be Arturo, not the one she knew, not the Arturo that brought the butterflies.

Arturo watched as Ai'ella came to terms with what he told her, at least she wasn't screaming in terror and running away from him. At least she didn't. Decide right away that he would lose his head.

Of course the princess being ever curious decided to ask a little more to get another side to the story. " Did you...mean to do it? Did you mean to kill my mother? Did you know what you were doing?"

Arturo shook his head in response he pointing to the moon outside " Under the moon. I have no control over the wolf. Only Alpha's have control over their wolf. To show their dominance over the pack. I had no idea what I was doing ,I was more shocked when I woke up in a cell with your father and a witch" he explained he reached his hands through the bars as best he could to take Ai'ella's hands and rub her knuckles comfortingly.

He looked into her eyes " I never meant to do anything, it was the fate of the moon that brought me to you. You've been my only friend for nearly 21 years, and I have been yours, I've saved your life a dozen times and you've made me smile. You can't tell me that that doesn't mean something..." He trailed lifting her hand up to his lips to kiss them.

Relief washed over her as Arturo shook his head.
" Under the moon. I have no control over the wolf. Only Alpha's have control over their wolf. To show their dominance over the pack. I had no idea what I was doing ,I was more shocked when I woke up in a cell with your father and a witch" He said and she smiled, it was small, nothing like the ones he was used to, he then reached through the bars, and took her hands, the butterflies that were already there, seemed to multiply within her as his thumbs brushed softly against her knuckles. All she could do was watch their hands for a moment.
His dark eyes found hers and she looked up, her lips parted some.
"I never meant to do anything, it was the fate of the moon that brought me to you. You've been my only friend for nearly 21 years, and I have been yours, I've saved your life a dozen times and you've made me smile. You can't tell me that that doesn't mean something..."
He said, and Ai was trembling, her heart rapping hard against her chest as he rose her hand to his lips, and pressed a soft feather like kiss to her knuckles. "It means...everything." She breathed through the butterflies that seemed to burst uproariously in her chest. Her fingers curled around his and then suddenly, her father's cynicism reared it's ugly head and she pulled her hand anyway.
Image
"How do I know you aren't just saying that? How do I know that you aren't just trying to save your own life, You could be lying to me..." She said and it was half hearted, she knew it. She could hear it in her words. She didn't truly believe he was lying, she could feel it but, she also felt that if he wasn't in control then, what was stopping him from losing control now.

"I want to believe you, Arturo, but....all this time..."She shook her head. "Prove it to me, Prove to me, that you are no longer that monster, I'll talk to my father, ask him to let you out, only for the week, and in that time, I need you to prove to me that you are the man that I've always known."'

"And love..." She added in her mind.
"Can you do that?" she asked him. "Can you do that for me?"

"How do I know you aren't just saying that? How do I know that you aren't just trying to save your own life, You could be lying to me..." The statement almost wounded Arturo, how could she say that? After all those years looking after her, saving her life and being her comfort through the difficult times.

"I want to believe you, Arturo, but....all this time...Prove it to me, Prove to me, that you are no longer that monster, I'll talk to my father, ask him to let you out, only for the week, and in that time, I need you to prove to me that you are the man that I've always known. Can you do that? Can you do that for me?"'

Arturo nodded slowly " Of course I can do that..you know i'll do anything for you. To keep you safe and to make you smile. Why would I lie? All I've known in this life is truth and that is all I can give you. If I had told you that I was a werewolf all those years ago you would have been frightened of me. Your father forbade me from telling you and even threatened me with execution. But please Ai..." He trailed off holding his hands out to her " I need you to trust me...please...you've trusted me all these years just trust me now.." he added his yes looking into hers desperately.

If I had told you that I was a werewolf all those years ago you would have been frightened of me. Your father forbade me from telling you and even threatened me with execution. But please Ai..." He pleaded, his hands outreached for hers. She gazed down at them, but didn't take them. She wanted to but for some reason she couldn't. " I need you to trust me...please...you've trusted me all these years just trust me now.."

She looked up at him, a plea in his eyes. Those eyes, ever watching, ever loving, the eyes the brought the butterflies. She trusted those eyes and now she knew that even though those eyes had been red and frightening once, she trusted them, even when she wasn't even old enough to understand what trust was. He'd never hurt her, he could have but didn't. He could have run off, all those trips to the outer realms they took together, he could have left her in the night, but now, he stayed by her side, always.

She slipped her hands into his. "I trust you." She breathed, moving to the bars gripping his hands firmly. "I trust you," She said, again, nodding before she reached through the bars and touched his face with both hands, she was close enough that she was merely a breath away." I'm sorry I ever doubted you." She said, tears falling now. "I should have never doubted you, you've always been at my side, and I'll be at yours, no matter what." She told him and wanted so much so to pull him to her for what she wasn't sure but the butterflies were tossing about in her stomach, making her heart beat fast as she gazed at him.

"I love you, Arturo." She said, and while she's said that thousands of times before, it felt different this time, good but different.

"I trust you." She breathed, moving to the bars gripping his hands firmly. "I trust you," She said, nodding before she reached through the bars and touched his face, she was close enough that she was merely a breath away. Arturo nearly melted at her touch, so gentle and kind. " I'm sorry I ever doubted you." She said, tears falling now. "I should have never doubted you, you've always been at my side, and I'll be at yours, no matter what." Arturo reached his hands up to hold her face, his thumbs gently brushing the falling tears away from her beautiful face. He continued to hold her face for a while staring into her eyes.

"I love you, Arutro." The words hit him like a ton of bricks, of course she had told him that she loved him many times, often in a joking way but now her tone felt sincere and real. He swallowed down a lump in his throat allowing the feeling of happiness and warmth to fill him in the cold cell.

" I love you too, my princess" He replied as he pushed his face through the bars planting a soft sweet kiss on her lips his hands still holding onto her face. It had been this way for years, Arturo had to deny the feelings he felt when the princess turned 18 and she asked him to dance with her one night. It was like time stood still as they moved slowly, their bodies pressed together sharing each others warmth. Just feeling the music.

He wanted nothing more that to rip the door down and hold onto her till the sun rose, but chains separated them both. Like the chains Arturo had on the moon and the wolf. As well as the chains that Ai's father held on her.

" I love you too, my princess" Arturo then moved to her, as best he could and pressed his lips softly against hers, his hands, as rough and calloused as they were, were soft against her skin and warm. So impossibly warm, that Ai wanted nothing but to melt into his arms. Welcoming his kiss, her eyes fluttering closed, as the butterflies shifted into something else, something that filled her body with a radiating heat that she's never felt before.

Damning the bars that kept them apart, Ai pulled away, resting her head against the bars but she could still feel him against hers. She closed her hands around his, her eyes still closed from the kiss. She wanted a proper kiss, and not through the cell bars.

"I'm going to get you out of here." She told him, nearly breathless from his kiss. Her father said that she could keep him as her guard, and that was fine but the kiss changed things, it changed everything, and with the suitors that will be coming in, she'd be force to have to choose one of the many men that wasn't Arturo to marry. She didn't even want to entertain the thought of her father finding out about this kiss or how she felt about him. He'd kill him for the hell of it.

"I promise, Arturo, I'm going to get you out of here and then..."She paused looking at him. And then what? He was her guardian, and she was his princess, they wouldn't be able to be more than that, regardless of how much she loved him. "We'll figure this out." She said before kissing him once again.

Arturo was as tender as could be through the kiss, her skin was as soft as he thought it would be. She smelt devine, like a breeze through the woods, full of sunlight and the ray of the moon. Ai pulled away before he did and Arturo wanted more, just to hold her and protect her from more than he could defend her from.

"I'm going to get you out of here." She told him, nearly breathless from his kiss. Arturo smiled looking down at their hands entwined together.

"I promise, Arturo, I'm going to get you out of here and then..." She paused looking at him. "We'll figure this out." She said before kissing him once again.

Arturo kissed her back his hands still holding onto her hands tightly. " Together..we will figure this out. i'm here for you...Always" he smiled rubbing her knuckles softly.

" Together..we will figure this out. I'm here for you...Always" She smiled at him, softly. "Always."She breathed before she turned and left the cellar.

She marched up to her father's study and didn't even wait for them to annouce her.

"Let him out, I've made my decision." She stated and her father looked at her oddly.

"What?"

"I've decided that Arturo is going to stay my personal guard." She told her father and he looked horrified. "He killed your mother, Ai'ella!" He boomed and Ai'ella didn't waver. " I know that, but he had no control. You seal away what killed her, and Arturo feels nothing but regret."

"He's only saying that."

"If that were the case, he could have gone away a long time ago, but he didn't, he stayed by my side, kept me safe, was my only true friend, he could have run the moment I wasn't looking." She told her father and while he took a deep breath. He knew she was right.

" You are dismissed."He grumbled and she huffed, much like he does.

"Order his release." She told him and he glared at her. She was pushing it but she wanted Arturo out of that cell and by her side again, she felt empty without him there, it was like missing a limb.

"He is released." He said but there was pride in his eyes. She was becoming a woman, better yet, a Queen, he could see it and she could feel it.

"Thank you, Father, Goodnight." She said and bowed before departing.

She sat in her bedchambers at her vanity, her chesnut hair was flowing down her back in unbound tresses, dressed in her long night gown, she sat watching her window.

Dawn was breaking and her father still hadn't released Arturo yet.

If one hair was out of place on his head, there would be hell to pay...

There was a knock at her door before it opened. She turned, and her ire vanished at the sight of him.

"Arturo..."She breathed as he closed the door behind him.

Arturo watched as she left, his hands still holding onto the bars. His body began to ache for her he wanted her back so she would be close to him. He knew she would sort everything out, she was determined whenever she set her mind to something and right now her mind was set on Arturo.

It felt like forever until the gaurds came down and opened his cell door, his heart leapt into his mouth thinking that something had gone wrong and he was going to die but when they unlatched his chains he knew that Ai had succeeded in her quest. He gave a nod to the gaurds and headed for Ai's room to perform his duties of watching over her.

He knocked on her door and entered, he was a little taken aback by her beautiful appearance. She had always been beautiful but now she looked magnificent, radiance dripping from her. He shut the door clicking the lock making sure it was secure, like he always did.

His eyes scanned everywhere in the room looking at her as she said his name "Arturo.." He smiled and walked towards her he took one of her hands and kissed it gently, he worked his lips slowly up her arm. His free arm snaking around her waist to pull her closer as he pressed his lips against hers his hands running up her back to thread his fingers through her hair.

No more words were spoken that morning, as his lips traveled up her arm before making their way to her lips. Breathless, and wanting, Ai'ella clung to him, her hands exploring, her body yearning. Soon she knew not where he ended and she began.

Resting against his chest, her copper skin covered in a thin sheen of sweat as the sunlight danced over them, Ai'ella smiled softly. Never had she laid with a man, and never was there any man she would have wanted then the one she had. Her protector, her guardian, now her lover. Arturo DeGari had many titles, but only important one was, that he was hers.

She looked up at him, his arm around her waist, holding her close as if he'd never let her go. As much as he was hers, she was his. She given herself to him wholly now, body and soul.

She grinned at him, before leaning up to kiss him sweetly. "Good Morning, my love." She whispered, and after years of wanting to call him that, she reveled in the feel of it on her lips, so much so that her lip caught loosely between her teeth.

" Good Morning, my dear" Ai'ella smiled as he pressed a kiss to her forehead, she lay her head back on his chest, and was about to close her eyes until he spoke again. " Even though I do not wish to move from here. We must get dressed and find the day my sweet." he said but made no moves to the contrary, and neither did she. She wanted to stay wrapped around him, him holding her close for the rest of her days. She smiled up at him. He said, My Sweet, Not My Lady, Not, Your Highness, but my sweet. She liked that.

He then captures her lips, his kiss was loving and full of passion, enough to make her want to tug him back down and begin again. She lost herself in it a moment and pouted playfully when it was over.

"Aww..."She said dropping her head onto the bed. She had to admit that the view had about the same effect as his kiss did. She bit her lip some, looking at him before sitting up herself.

She looked around the room, and noticed that his clothes were scattered, and her nightdress was missing. She looked around for it and found it had been pushed somewhat under the bed. She giggled to herself as she climbed out of the bed and grabbed it.

" I will be back soon. I'm going to check everything as usual. Appearances must be kept the same" He said and while she knew he was right, She didn't want him to be gone yet and she was quite tired, she hadn't exactly slept last night, and now between the relief of his freedom and the exertion last night, she was downright exhausted.

That didn't stop her from walking up to him as he tugged on her shirt, and kissing him deeply. "I love you." She breathed, her eyes, somewhat lidden. "And I'm going to miss you...I want you back in bed..." she said and what she meant by that, she counld't even be sure.

Arturo adjusted his shirt and was taken by surpsie as his hsirt was pulled to Ai and she kissed him deeply his arms wrapping around her his hands holding her close.

"I love you. And I'm going to miss you...I want you back in bed..."

Arturo couldn't help but smile down as her his hands reaching up to tuck a stray strand of hair behind her ears. " I love you too..I shouldn't be long I need to check the carriage of the new suitors that are coming to visit you...I want you safe.." he kissed her tenderly stepping away from her otherwise nothing would ever get done. " i'm sure we can both wait to be in each others arms again, tonight I promise you" he added as he opened her door and left.

He checked the suotirs carriage, removing all the sharp items from there, he had brought a few swords and Arturo had no idea why. it was going to take all of his restraints to keep up appearances that he was still Ai's guardian. He carried the swords to the king bowing low " Your majesty, I've found many weapons on the carriage...I am unsure that most of these are for decorative value. I believe that some of these may be for intent to harm.." he placed the collection of swords on the floor in front of the king.

" I love you too..I shouldn't be long I need to check the carriage of the new suitors that are coming to visit you...I want you safe.." He said and kissed her softly. She decided she'd behave herself as he stepped back from her. " I'm sure we can both wait to be in each others arms again, tonight I promise you" He said and vanished out the door. She sighed, sitting herself on the bed, she smiled to herself, the memories of the night before dancing in her head.

ImageShe stood with a smile and dressed for the day and made her way to her father's throne room, as the suitors arrived. It was going to turn her stomach to watch all these men that didn't know her, try to get her to swoon over them, just so they could be king. She knew, while her father lived, marrying Arturo would be out of the question and as much as she hated it, she couldn't really blame him, after all, a part of him, out of his control as it was, still killed his wife. Her father was a much more patient man then most gave him credit for.

Dressing in a pale blue gown that squared at her bust line, she did up her hair as usual and lined her neck with a string of pearls and made her way to the throne room, she heart Arturo from behind the door, and had to hid her smile. Most everything about him, made her smile.

She entered the room and found her father frowning with his beard in his hand. Something was wrong.

"Father?" She called as she entered and took her place by his side. "What's wrong?" She asked.

"One of your suitors brought weapons." He mused aloud, he was barely acknowledging Arturo's existence and it upset her but she swallowed it. If she learned anything from being a princess it was to keep your emotions from your face. Royalty was a game, you win or you die, emotions were not in the cards.

She looked at Arturo and didn't give him a second look, before dropping her gaze to the swords. A few of them were decorative but some where real blades, she frowned slightly.

"What do you make of this, Father?" She asked.

"I'm unsure." He said and looked at Arturo for a moment but didn't ask him anything,

"Guardian DeGari," She called, all the princess, and none of the lover, she left the lover in the bed, as he said appearance must be kept, and in her father's case, she wanted things to appeared to have changed between them but not for the better as it had last night. She didn't want her father to think that she cared not for the death of her mother. She did, but she saw that Arturo didn't mean for it to happen so for her father's sake, she kept things formal.

"Tell me, Which of the suitors brought these?" She asked. "Depending on where they are from, these could simply be gifts, the ornate ones for me, and the real ones for you, Father. Many cultures practiced this ritual." She said easily and her father cracked a smile. "You are correct, daughter," He said, pride dancing in his eyes. She turned to Arturo. "Find me the suitor that brought this, I can discern whether or not from the look of him if his people are one of the aforementioned cultures."

Arturo stood up straight in his position a few metered away from the throne itself but close enough that if he had to act in defense for Ai he would be able to get to her. "Father?" She called as she entered and took her place by his side. "What's wrong?" She asked.

"One of your suitors brought weapons."

"What do you make of this, Father?" She asked.

"I'm unsure." He said and looked at Arturo for a moment but didn't ask him anything, Arturo kept his gaze ahead of him but felt the gaze of the king on him.

"Guardian DeGari," She called and Arturo stepped forward facing her and giving a low bow.

"Tell me, Which of the suitors brought these? Depending on where they are from, these could simply be gifts, the ornate ones for me, and the real ones for you, Father.

Arturo nodded and gave another bow " Yes My lady" he turned on his heel and left the throne room walking quickly to the room that the suitors were waiting in. " Excuse me your majesties, would the suitor please step forward who has provided the king and the princess with a collection of swords." A tall prince stepped forward looking much older than Ai and perhaps older that Arturo's appearance. " Follow me sire" he turned and lead the male to the throne room he opened the door stepping forward to bow " Your majesty. Prince Christian D'Crosse" he stepped aside to allow the prince to step forward.

" Your majesty, those swords are a gift from the talented blacksmiths of my kingdom. makers of the finest weapons fit for a noble king and a beautiful princess" he smirked giving a sly wink to Ai.

Ai allowed herself to watch as Arturo walked out. Straight and tall, valiant and gallantry in his step. By the Gods, she loved that man. There was a monster locked away in there, that monster killed her mother, yet the man, shared the same space. It made no logical sense. How could two different beings inhabit the same body?

A body she'd explored in it's entirety last night.

"Ai'Ella, how are you?" her father asked quickly. "You look flushed." He said and she swallowed. "It's just that, I'm having a hard time believing that my mother was killed by a monster a monster, you say is Arturo...He admitted to it but still...It's a difficult concept to grasp, Your Grace." She said honestly. Her flush didn't come from that but she wasn't about to tell him that.

"Indeed, Not a day goes by that I don't want his head for taking my beloved...it is only your good graces that's kept him alive this long...I know he is your friend, Ai'Ella, but if he ever lays a hand on you, hurts you in anyway, I need to you promise me you will not let your friendship get in the way." He said and Aiella looked at her father. "I promise, on my honor, Father, should Arturo hurt me, our friendship shall not stand in the way of justice." She told him honestly, knowing full well that that day will never come.

" Your majesty. Prince Christian D'Crosse" Arturo said as he entered the room, and presented the prince. Ai fought not ot utrn up her nose. He was older than her by maybe ten years, steeling grey eyes, weather beaten and gangly. IF he thought to touch her, he had another thing coming.

" Your majesty, those swords are a gift from the talented blacksmiths of my kingdom. makers of the finest weapons fit for a noble king and a beautiful princess" spoke Prince D'Crosse and Ai'ella didn't hid her indifference as he winked at her. "Mm, and where would that kingdom be, exactly? I know of a few places, that can make such a claim and you do not wear their sigil." Ai'Ella said, her voice passive. "You're Surname, also does not ring a bell." She said and looked at Arturo. " Guardian, please, hand him a blade and take one for yourself." She said before looking at the prince. "All of the cultures that I know who prize swords and their blacksmiths, are master swordsmen, They do not lose a duel." She said and looked to Arturo, she knew his skill better than anyone, and she was fairly certain that this man was fake. Her eyes told Arturo not to kill him but make it look good. Someone was out to dup her , but Ai was quick, it's rare she missed anything...expect for Arturo's wolf, that really threw her.

Prince D'Crosse simply stood his gaze becoming unnerving as Ai spoke to him "Mm, and where would that kingdom be, exactly? I know of a few places, that can make such a claim and you do not wear their sigil. You're Surname, also does not ring a bell." She said and looked at Arturo who stood a little straighter as he gaze and word. " Guardian, please, hand him a blade and take one for yourself." Arturo nodded as he picked up to of the blades handing one to the prince who looked worried.

"All of the cultures that I know who prize swords and their blacksmiths, are master swordsmen, They do not lose a duel." She said and looked to Arturo, who nodded in understanding of what she wanted him to do, beat this imposter as his own game.

Arturo readied himself the sword drawn in front of him ready to block any attack this fraud had up his sleve, the prince attacked first lunging for Arturo's stomach which he dodged easily. There was a few minutes of clashing swords and even the odd kick from the prince which was defended by Arturo's skilled hands.

Arturo got bored quickly and pushed the tired prince over pinning him to the floor the blade against his throat, he stayed there for a while watching the prince whimper and sob.

Standing up straight he pulled the prince up with one hand " your highness" he bowed and watched as the prince drew a small knife that was perfect for throwing. Arturo grabbed his wrist and snapped his wrist with ease, restraining his other hand behind his back.

" your wish your majesty? "He asked looking to the king.
