Introduction
You hear the sirens coming closer. Whatever your story is and how your parents died, it happened. The police officers and ambulance's lights are now blaring through your windows. You duck down, hiding as the windows break open. There is blood all over the ground, splashed with your own blood from the broken glass cutting your leg. It seems that it's obvious you were next, most of your friends had became orphans and sent away to a place called, "Sunny Side Up." A large black man who goes by the name of Drake grabs your wrist. "They're dead." He tells the sheriff, but they lead you away before you can hear the rest of the conversation. You are put into a police car, and you let your head fall to the window as you cry loudly. Your cries irritate the driver, but he tries not to show it and starts conversation. "You'll be okay at Sunny Side Up, kid." Drake says, and then the passenger who sat beside him hid herself with her scarf. Her voice was muffled by the striped fabric scarf, yet you barely caught her reply. "Of course he will. Everyone always has been." Then the two smile at each other, as you sit there confused and traumatized from the images in your mind of your parents dying. "Who killed my parents?" You whisper, and Drake pulls up to an Orphanage. "Here we are." He says, without answering your question. He brings you to the door, but when you turn around he had disappeared and the car was gone. There you stand before two big black doors. A golden knob was on the first one and a more pale gold, brownish knob on the other one. You are about to knock, but then an old woman answers the door. Her finger nails scrape against the door knob as she lets you in. "Hello child. Did officer Drake drop you off?" You shrug slightly, you hadn't known his name but than you just nod. "I'm sorry for your loss." She says, and brings you in. You look around and see a haunted looking place. You stand inside an Orphanage that took place inside a mansion. The white walls gave it a gloomy look, the curtains were drawn as if to block out the sunshine. Lots of teens just like you come down a ghostly staircase, their eyes dull and saddened. "Another one?" A girl in the front whispers. The old lady just barely nods and you walk fully inside, the doors closing behind you. That's when you realize, you belong here. You are an Orphan.
Just like the rest.

Emily stands at the top of the staircase, glaring down the gloomy hallways and then peering downstairs. Quietly she mumbles to her friends that sat around her, "Another orphan." And her big blue eyes blink down at the younger girl. She was tall for her age, and looked more mature. Madame Jaflyn had announced earlier that we were to treat the girl with care and share fairly with her. When one girl objected, she was beaten by Frin, the master of the Orphanage.

Madame Jaflyn smiled her perfectly mastered, warm yet icy smile. She looked at the young girl's arms. "My my, what do we have here?" She looked down and ran her fingers on the music box. "Music is not permitted here." Her voice was in a small, disappointed hiss. "Yet, I suppose you can listen to that. Just keep it quiet." She growled low. "Negi, you are rooming with Emily." There was a pause, as she walked to the stairs, her footsteps quiet even though she was in high heels. "EMILY!" She yelled at the eavesdropping young woman. "Huh?" Emily said, and tripped then regained herself, standing up. "Yes, Madame Jaflyn?" Her heartbeat was pulsing through her veins faster than a race horse. "Show Negi to your room." "Yes Madame Jaflyn."
Emily stared at the young girl. Her eyes portrayed nothing, even when Emily tried to find out more about the girl she felt Negi block her out. "Hi. I'm Emily." She said quietly, her voice still shaky, feeling the gaze of Madame Jaflyn burning into her back. "Let's go to our room now, Negi." Emily said, walking slowly up the stairs. Emily's friends shrank out of the way, watching the two girls walk away with hopeless eyes.

She then spoke. "The day my parents died, I saw a black figure staring at me through my bedroom windows. I had sworn to never speak again, afraid I'd speak of it. But I did. I spoke again and I made friends here. I survive the beatings every day. But it haunts me, seeing that figure in my mind. It's as if it sealed my lips when I saw it."

Emily reached her hand out to Negi. She inched closer to her and took the girl in her arms. She didn't shed a tear, trying to stay strong for her. Then she cried. She cried even more as loud footsteps were heard coming towards the door. Fists were heard banging on the door and Emily kept Negi in her arms. Suddenly, a key was drawn from the top of the door and the door slammed open. There he stood, angry and guilty at the same time, clearly drunk. "Master Frin." Emily said softly. His name caught distaste on her tongue.
Master Frin stood at the door, his body swaying a bit from the alcohol. "I know it was you who saw." He said. "You keep that to yourself!" He said, and went to grab Negi out of Emily's arms. "You're pretty." He said to Negi. "What's a beautiful girl like you doing here?" He laughed as he mocked her. Emily stood up, and pushed Negi over to the bed. She walked over to Master Frin as he grabbed her wrists, took her out of the room and slammed the door. He brought her into a room she had been in many times before, called The Punishment Room. The alcohol intensified the beatings, as he threw blows at her with his fists, and than forced her to lift up her shirt as he whipped her back. "Keep what you saw quiet!" Her screams from the agonizing beatings were heard probably far beyond the Orphanage. Orphans cringed at the sound.
