"They're totally awesome, right?"
Amber.
HAIR COLOR~
"It's like a carrot!"
Orange.
APPEARANCE~
"What? You want me to go into detail or something?"
Langley stands at 5 feet 6 inches and weighs about 118 pounds. Her skin is surprisingly pale for someone as active as her, helping her bright amber eyes and orange hair stand out even more. The carrot colored mop on her head is almost always unruly, causing Lane to just throw it into a messy side bun on most days. She also uses a red ribbon in order to help keep some of the escaped hairs from falling into her face.
Langley always has a practically permanent grin on her face, unless of course she isn't happy, which makes it easy to tell when she's feeling blue. Her cheeks are almost always flushed with happiness, and her eyes hold a blindingly bright twinkle in them. Lane always seems to have a bounce in her step, and when she's really happy it's not unusual to find her skipping around. One thing that you may notice about Langley is that she always wears her yellow scarf, even in the summer time she refuses to take it off. All of her clothes are very loose and flowing, tight clothing isn't really her cup of tea. Overall, Langley definitely isn't someone who blends into the background. Her loud and proud attitude definitely transfers over into her looks as well.
PERSONALITY~
{Outgoing, Persistent, Bubbly, Ditsy}
Langley is a very outgoing person. She's not afraid of talking to people, and more often then not it's difficult trying to get her to stop talking. She wears her heart on her sleeve and isn't afraid to tell others what she's thinking or feeling. In fact, the only thing that Lane keeps from anyone is her thoughts on her gender, it's a sore subject for her that she's yet to feel comfortable speaking about. Other then that however, Langley is a very open and honest person. Sure, sometimes she overshares, but at least you know that she's not keeping any secrets from you!
Lane is definitely very persistent. Once she's set her mind to something it is very hard to change it. She can be especially persistent when it comes to interacting with people. If somebody is on the quieter side, Lane may make it her mission to get that person to talk with her. Or if she encounters somebody who she deems 'too serious for their own good' she may continue telling them jokes until she finally gets them to laugh. The scariest one of all though is definitely when she ships two people together. Langley will do everything in her power to push the two people together. It can surely become annoying, but she really means no harm by it. She's just trying to make people happy.
Langley is also very energetic. Any random stranger just passing by could tell that she is an extremely bubbly girl. If the ever present smile doesn't give it away, then her constant need to keep moving certainly will. Even while sitting down you can find her leg constantly moving up and down without her even realizing. Lane has always had a good sense of humor, laughing at even the smallest of things. Rather than getting embarrassed after, say, tripping, she can easily laugh it off. It's very hard to make Langley feel sad or angry.
It's not super hard to tell that Langley is a bit ditsy. She was never the best at studying, and her grades were never the highest. Well, to be exact, her grades were actually a bit below average. But what she lacks book smarts she makes up for in street smarts. Due to this, complex strategies and ideas aren't always the easiest for Lane to wrap her head around. This doesn't mean that she is dumb however, Langley knows common sense, along with way too many useless facts that she learned from the internet. Treating her like she's stupid is probably one of the very few ways that you can make her mad.

"Bang! Bang!"
Toy Gun - A Whimsical ability that allows Lane to shot a beam of light out of her finger. If the beam of light comes into contact with someone it will leave them stunned for a certain period of time (The period of time depends on how long the beam is allowed to charge up). Thus this ability can be used either as a beacon of sorts or as a defense mechanism. It does take quite a bit of energy however, and Lane doesn't have much practice with her aim.
LIKES~
"What do you mean my seahorse looks like a rat?! I worked really heard on this y'know..."
~Drawing: Although Langley's art skills are horrendous, it doesn't stop her from loving to draw and paint.
~Otome Games: While you would think that this would be something that Lane would keep secret, it's something that she seems to feel no shame about. She'll gladly boast loud and proud about how she finally got the MC together with a particular 'super hunky tsundere'.
~Shipping People: Is it healthy? Absolutely not. Is it unethical? Definitely. Is she going to continue anyways? You better believe it.
~Playing Games: Langley always enjoys playing games with the younger children. While she is practically the Queen of seeking people out while playing Hide-And-Seek, she is almost always one of the first people found while hiding. Probably because she can't sit quietly in the same place for too long.
DISLIKES~
"Ugghhhh... too many woorrrddss. My brain's turning to mush."
~Reading: She swears that every time she tries to read her brain almost melts and slips out her ears.
~Bland Food: What's the point in eating if there isn't any flavor to savor?
~People Questioning Her Gender: While Lane knows that she feels that she doesn't exactly fit into the female category, she can't seem to allow herself to tell people to call her a 'them'. Her parents forced her to call herself a girl for so long that she's somewhat scared to ditch the habit.
~Her Ships Not Turning Out Right: Unless you sink her ship in order to form an even cuter ship, Lane will not be happy if you don't end up with the person that she wanted you to end up with.
~Bad Ends: If you ever find Langley in a depressed heap, it's probably because she ended up getting the Bad End on one of her Otome games. Why do they even make Bad Ends? Why can't they all just be happy?
HISTORY~
"So, you really want to know that much about me, huh? Well, I'm super flattered~!"
{Old Resident}
Langley was born an only child into a normal middle class family. Her parents were both normal everyday office workers, and they lived in a normal everyday suburban home. While there were certainly exciting times in her life growing up, Langley's home life was basically completely average and normal, there was nothing to differentiate her family from the one next door. However, Lane realized from a young age that she was anything but normal. She understood the concept of boys and girls as well as what made them different, but she seemed to feel no connection to one or the other. She began to feel sort of awkward when her parents and everyone else would refer to her as a girl. Even though she looked like one, she felt that she shouldn't be called that. Yet when little Lane tried to explain the complex feeling she was having to her mother, the woman just freaked out. She continued to almost shout at her daughter for a good half an hour about how she shouldn't say stuff like that, and how that Langley was a girl and that was all that she could be. This encounter scared the young child so much that she never questioned her gender out loud again.
However, as Lane grew older she discovered that there was yet another thing that was different about her. While all of her girl friends were fawning over the guys in their class, she couldn't help but keep sneaking glances at some of the girls in the room. It was a bit of a scary realization when she found out that she was attracted to females, all she could think about was how her mother had freaked out when she tried to talk to her about her gender. But finally, at the tender age of fifteen, she decided to tell her parents how she felt. This however resulted in a reaction very much like the first one. Her parents were frantic, telling her that she couldn't think that way, continuously asking her why she couldn't just be normal like everyone else. They then proceeded to lock her away in her room while they tried to think of what to do in order to help her. Langley was a very happy person by nature, so when she suddenly felt crushing sadness after her parent's disapproval, she didn't know how to react. She did, though, realize that this wasn't a good place for her to be anymore. So after packing a small bag full of clothes and a couple of other things, Langley climbed out the window and set off on her own.
It was a couple of days before Lane found the Whimsical Residence for Wayward Children. She was practically starving by then seeing as she packed basically no snacks since she had been locked in her room before running away. So, when Cosmo kindly offered her some breakfast she was over the moon. It took basically no convincing to get Langley to agree to stay at the residence. She quickly grew to love it in this home where different was the new normal. And about a month into her stay, she happened to discover her very own powers. Lane had been playing Hide-and-Seek with a group of younger kids when she had accidently stunned one of them for about five minutes after pointing at him once she'd found him hiding. Langley could barley believe that she was even more abnormal then she had originally thought. She can't help but feel that this was the place that she is meant to be, and she's loved every second of the year that she has been living there.
