|| Personality ||
Despite the irrational incidents repeatedly happening around town, Isabelle is one of the people who refuse to believe in what defies logic and will always try to find a rational explanation for any situation. She loves reading, although mainly keeps to scientific or historical literature- if not one or another mystery novel now and then. However, she refrains from reading fantasy and if she can, although science fiction actually as captured her attention now and then. She can have a bit trouble showing her emotions in a good way so people understand sometimes, and also has trouble reading other peoples emotions in some situation; or understanding jokes/reading hidden signs. Best would be if anyone simply always told her directly what they mean. However, this does not mean to say she is stupid. On the contrary; Issy is a highly intelligent girl, spending most of her time with books and studying- finding out information about whatever has caught her interest for the moment. Otherwise she is a girl who stands up for herself and goes whatever way she likes, not particularly caring about the crowd. When she has an opinion about something, she usually makes it known... and although she most of the time is a rather quiet, modest girl... she can also have quite the temper on occasion.

HISTORY

Image
|| Personal History/Background ||
"Okay, so here's the deal. I was born in Sweden; the capital of Sweden, to be more exact. So yes, I was born in Stockholm, to a Swedish father and Japanese mother. I've always been somewhat of a loner and stayed away from places with many people, finding it uncomfortable being surrounded by so many consciousness at once. So, for the most part of my life, I spent on my own, reading and learning. I was content with this, though, since that is my interest. Other than that, there was never anything extraordinary about my life. I had my parents who loved me and cared about me; I had our dogs- Fire and Ice whom I would often spend my afternoons with, training and then later entering competitions... yeah, I had a great life. At least until that one accident...

I had been staying at my best friend's house over the weekend when my parents were away on a business trip in Denmark with their company (they used to work at the same place). However, when they dropped me off at Sandra's house would be the last time I ever saw them, before on Sunday evening, there was suddenly a messenger standing in the doorway of her house. Even if I try, I cannot picture what exactly he said anymore, or even what happened after and before that. Everything... is just a blur. My parents were dead. Dead, okay? Gone, dead, lost forever... the point is, they aren't coming back, no matter how hard I wish for them to do so. It is tragic, I guess... but it is also life. Besides, going around, sulking about your parents death will not bring them back either; so I cannot help but see it as an idiocy. Call be cold, but that is how life works. It is cruel and it will hurt you for as long as you breathe, for as long as your soul remains on this earth... but it is life, and you must cling to it with every will power you have, or otherwise you will totally cease to exist- which is something I don't think anyone wants deep down. I will not say that my parents did not/does not give me brief... because that would be denying the truth and I am not one for lying. But what I mean is that despite such a tragedy as this, life goes on.

Or at least so I thought, until life became even crueler and sent me off to my grandparents in Japan. I do know the language, since my mother used to speak it with me, making sure I learned it properly... and it is not like I mind the nature of anything. I mean, the town they life in is beautiful... but it is not home. Everything is so alien to me. To tell the truth, I haven't ever met my grandparents before. Or well, once I did... but that was when I was really small. And now... I am supposed to live with them? In this area so completely the different to what I used to know as my home. It is strange, really. How life can totally kick you in the face more than once. Whatever deity may exist (I do not believe in God), must be incredibly cruel. Well, that is at least my take on it. We'll have to see how it all goes... after all, only my first week here has passed, so I probably should keep an open mind about it all."

"Geez, I have absolutely no time for this right now! But okay... where did you say you were from again? And please do not come with some spiritual nonsense..."

So begins...

"Stupid, stupid, this is stupid!" Issy muttered as she kicked a small pile of snow before her, watching the wet flakes spray across the ground, although as it was already covered with snow it didn't make any significant change to her environment. This only caused Isabelle to get even further annoyed and made her childishly kick up more snow. She may be a bright girl- at least when it came to knowledge and books, but personality wise she could act quite childish and... special. Let us keep it at that. Well, I guess it proves even geniuses have their perks.

Isabelle Misaki Johanson Iwasawa was a slender girl of sixteen, with shoulder length ebony hair and deep, navy blue eyes. Her skin was fair, as Swede's complexions often tend to be, but there was a slight, healthy tan to it. Actually, it was quite a surprise how healthy she looked right then, considering her generally unhealthy diet of pizza and cake- although she had begrudgingly had to change that habit since she moved in with her grandparents. Apparently, they believed in eating healthy foods stuff instead of the 'poisonous' junk food Isabelle was used to. This was much to her dismay, as she was very picky with her food and refused to eat most of what they were trying to feed her. It was not like Issy's parents had found it overjoying when they saw what Isabelle insisted on eating all the time and although her mother had been very prone to always eating healthily herself... she and Issy's father were never home enough to control that. Yes, with their jobs and all, Issy spent most of her childhood on her own.

Yawning, she came to a halt and sighed, glaring around for a moment before she folded her arms over her chest. "Damn it... how the hell could I get lost?! It's totally not fair grandfather sent me here to get his walking stick. If he could go here and lose it in the first place, then he might as well go back and get it later. His argument about bad hips doesn't hold," the teenager grumbled as she gripped her schoolbag and glanced around wearily, shaking her head in annoyance. Isabelle truly did not wish to be there right then, as she would rather be home or in the library and study. Somehow, the girl found it far more entertaining. Then again, she had to admit that it was nice in the forest. Very nice, actually. There it was calm and quiet, without the idiocy of humans haunting her.

For a moment, Isabella shut her eyes and took a deep breath, feeling a slightly cold breeze brush against her skin but she didn't mind. In fact, she enjoyed whether like this; rather too cold than too warm; she decided with a shrug of her shoulders. After a while she opened her eye's again, though, and resumed her walk... hoping to find her way out of there soon. She would have used her phone if possible and called for help, but sadly it had died during the day and was now out of battery.

"Damn it."

As the new human male approached the shrine, at first Taiyo figured he couldn't see them, as he made no indication. But he was wrong, the human locked eyes with Ryu longer than he should have which showed he could be seen. As the human approached the other, he handed her back that contraption she was holding earlier. His gold eyes flashed in instinct, as if the human had already picked a fight.

As Ryu spoke, Taiyo looked at the sword, and focused on it only. It was not a regular sword, as it was a holy one-something that could damage them. His nine tails started to twitch, and move slowly, as if waiting for an attack. Taiyo remained seated though, as this was not his territory but the wolf's. Though, if the human did mean harm, he would show no mercy. After all, why should he when he was not the one who picked the fight? Though his ears picked up more movement. His ears twitched and moved slightly until he could hear more footsteps. Another human was coming by the smell of it. A frown danced on his features, as he realized it was another human girl, though the girl didn't seem hostile, though annoyed.

Fuyu blinked and nodded a bit, as the girl lifted her hand towards him. He stared at it for a couple of second before bringing his nose closer to it. he gave it a quick lick before going leaning back more and going closer into the coat. Though as the human approached the small group, he started to bristle at the thought of that sword. He didn't like it. He moved to the girls other shoulder, and pulled on her hair towards the side. "The human is dangerous...listen to the wolf and move!" Of course all the little yokai could do was move her head slightly.

Ryu

For some reason, the pink haired boy laughed. Hysterically. Ryu frowned, his hand losing the deep green glow. If he wasn't here simply to return the umbrella or visit the shrine, why had he come? The only reason Ryu could think of was to get up Mt.Fuji, or perhaps to simply kill two powerfull yokai. He sat back down and stared at the stupid human. To so brazenly insult an 800 year old yokai, stupid was the only adjective that came to mind. He scratched his chin, and then grinned, understanding now. This human sought power. They usually did, but those who could see yokai often sought power through yokai servants.

"I'll be back later." said the boy.
"You're free to come and go as you wish. However, I'll likely be hungry by then, so bring some sweet buns or I might wind up eating you instead." He winked at Kiseki, letting her know he was purely joking. He'd spent these past 800 years protecting humans from the things they could not see, so eating them would serve absolutely no purpose. Well, other than filling his belly. Once the boy had left, Ryu picked up a different presence. It was much younger than he was, and smelled of fresh fallen snow. Ah, a Yuki-Onna. He'd heard of and seen the Yuki-Onna that roamed around the base of the mountain in the autumn. If he recalled correctly, her name was Saiyori Setsuko. But there was something else too... Another human female? Three humans in his forest in one da- He sniffed again. She smelled... oddly like Kiseki... She could also see yokai? Ryu nearly shook his head in disbelief. Three in just one day, all in Fujinomiya and all headed to his forest. He honestly doubted if there was anything else capable of surprising him today.

"Today has been a strange day indeed..."
He stared up at the mountain he guarded and wondered. Perhaps it's a sign? Will these past 800 years finally count for something? I suppose... I should tell her. Everything. But not yet, she needs to be stronger first. Much stronger.
He peered down at Kiseki and "Hmm"d to himself. She had incredible spiritual power, but it seemed she didn't know how to use it. He'd have to fix that.

"I have a proposistion for you, Kiseki. If you're interested in never having another yokai bother you again, that is. I can show you how." He smiled reassuringly. "Of course, I might ask for a favor later, but that is the nature of such dealings. So, what do you think?"

Taiyo watched as the human laughed crazily, another frown pulling at his lips. What was wrong with this human? He didn't seem right in the head. His tails relaxed, and he went back to his relaxed state. Though if he wished to be back later, didn't that mean he was going to pick a fight if the girl wasn't here? He tilted his head a bit in thought, before sighing a bit to himself. If he knew that there would be so much people coming, he would have just stayed at the temple.

A scent hit his nose, and he glanced around. By the smell of it, it was a snow-wench yokai. Fuyu had informed him of most yokai in the area when he had woken up, so he knew what to expect. Though he hadn't expected to meet so much people in one day. It was almost laughable that he met 2 humans, and soon most likely more yokai. Shrugging it off, he glanced back at Ryu as he joked around with the girl. Funny, males don't taste as good as females.

Hearing his comment, Taiyo glanced at him before saying "Well, Today must be special I suppose..."

Fuyu let out a snort at the girl's comment of the man being nice. Humans were not nice. Tehy were evil and manipulitive. They sealed away his lord!

"That's what all people say about unknown enemies, and they end up dead girlie." Fuyu responded, puffing up once again as the other human went on his way.

Kiseki Okinawa

Kiseki shivered slightly when Ryu made a comment about "getting hungry". She nervously looked back at him, but then he reassured her with a wink. Kiseki exhaled and looked back at the boy who was walking away. Something about him didn't seem right... Kiseki exhaled. She looked down at the small kitsune on her shoulder before laughing.
Alright, I'll keep that in mind.
Kiseki scratched Fuyu on the head and looked back to the trail.

After a few moments of thinking about the young man, Kiseki looked back at both of the powerful Yokai she had met and they each looked really distracted again. Kiseki couldn't help but wonder, so she just decided to ask. Well, not Ryu or Taiyo, but Fuyu, although the small kistune may not be able to smell or sense the same things as them.

Hey... Um, is there someone or something else on the mountain?
Kiseki whispered this to the little fox resting on her shoulder. It felt like such an uncomfortable and weird question to ask, but her curiousness was getting the best of her. But before she could get an answer, she heard a noise. Well, not exactly a "noise" but more of a "hm". Kiseki looked at Ryu, who was already looking at her. Kiseki listened to his offer, and it took her a few seconds to process. Kiseki blinked in complete shock. She knew exactly what he was offering! Kiseki nervously stood up, completely stiff.

She took the warm and fuzzy coat off her shoulders, as well as the kitsune.
I-I'll think about it... I have to go wash my cat now!
Kiseki stated her lame excuse bluntly before wrapping the kistune up in the coat.
Make sure you stay warm!
It's almost like her voice was robotic. She was trying to sound natural, but she was almost yelling and she would stutter once in a while, not making things exactly better. She placed the big ball of... coat, on the fox Yokai's lap. She bowed down to both of them stiffly.
I-If you need to find me again, I live... in a um... I-I forgot my address. I live in um...
Kiseki had a strange, but blank look on her face.
I live in a house! Bye!
Kiseki spun around and marched stiffly down the trail very quickly, without listening to anything else.

Kiseki suddenly stopped marching when she remembered that this is the way the boy went... and he was standing there with a girl! A girl? Maybe she was what the two Yokai back there were sensing. Kiseki suddenly realized that she most definitely wasn't normal. Surprisingly, Kiseki also felt some sort of danger or something towards this woman. Kiseki felt her heart skip a beat as she quickly hid behind a nearby tree. What do I do?! What if she really is a Yokai... what if she hurts that person?! Kiseki held her hands together tightly. She didn't-- no. She couldn't go back to the shrine after she had just embarrassed herself so greatly. She knew that if she didn't do something, the Yokai or even the boy would notice her presence, if they hadn't already. As if someone had answered her prayers, she suddenly heard grumbling and complaining nearby.

Kiseki bolted through the trees as quickly as she could. It's definitely coming from this way, I know it is! Kiseki had to take her chances. If this wasn't another Yokai, she would be able to get help from this person... maybe. Kiseki finally spotted a walking figure and she smiled happily. I've found them! Kiseki jumped out of the trees and onto the trail that this person was walking on and right in front of them. Kiseki always had troubles speaking to people, but if she didn't do anything...
Please, I need your help--
Kiseki's jaw almost dropped all the way down to the ground when she seen this "savior". It was a girl. A younger looking girl than herself! Kiseki collapsed to her knees in disappointment, panting heavily from bolting through the woods so fast. Kiseki couldn't bring herself to ask such a cute looking girl to help her defeat a Yokai! Kiseki thought about her intentions for a moment and sweat dropped. How would I be able to save him in the first place... If this girl could see the Yokai, she could possibly have some kind of hidden powers or something, maybe even a holy weapon. Kiseki raised an eyebrow, but then shook her head quickly. I am not asking her to help me! Kiseki stood up, still panting. She was about to walk back through the woods in defeat, but there was one problem. She couldn't remember which way she came through and there was only one path that she could follow, and it wasn't a familiar one. Kiseki held her head in her hands and shut her eyes tightly.
This is really bad! What if that Yokai kills him? What if he goes back and kills Ryu and Taiyo? What if they all get crushed by snow or something, this is all my fault!
Kiseki felt useless, yet again and she was being too hard on herself, yet again. She had completely forgot about the most likely confused teen standing in front of her.

Ryu

Ryu stared dumbly as Kiseki blurted out what absolutely had to be the the worst excuse he'd ever heard. Ever. He watched her run through the woods down the wrong path and disappear from sight. Ryu slowly started shaking his head. "What an... interesting girl. I wonder how she gets the cat in the bath..." He frowned thoughtfully and then grinned. "Well, I can't very well leave her alone in this forest." He stood up and smiled at the fox. "I'm terribly sorry to bring you all the way here and have to leave you unattended, but I need to be sure of Kiseki's safety." He bowed politely and vanished in a flurry of autumn leaves. As he vanished, so did the barrier he'd erected.

The leaves followed Kiseki from above the trees and deposited Ryu in a tree above her when she ran into the other human girl. He didn't say anything, he simply watched to ensure her safety.

Issy sullenly continued through the wounds and the farther in she went, the more and more yokai appeared around her. Some small, round and pink ones were even pulling at her her, much to her annoyance. However, despite that she pretended not to notice. Yes, Issy could see and feel the creatures, and had done so ever since she was little. However, she remembered her grandmothers words about ignoring them and would very much do so. Besides, probably they were just a fraction of her imagination, probably she was just the one who's insane... or at least that was what she tried to tell herself.

Of course, these yokai were different to those in Sweden, and she had no idea how they worked. At least not yet. This, was somewhat to her disadvantage. First off, the yokai in Sweden weren't called yokai; they had no specific names. However, what they did have was specific names for each one of the yokai races; such as elves, gnomes, lantern men and rumpnissar. They were creatures of the forest and folklore, and she had been bullied by those 'horrid' entities since her childhood. Although her parents never believed her when she told them about it... her grandmother did. She too, had been plagued by them... but Issy actually wasn't sure if that really was what happened, since she was not sure she was actually seeing these creatures anymore.

She paused and narrowed her eyes as a girl suddenly stumbled before her, sounding as though she was going to ask for her help... but then refraining from doing it properly for whatever reason. Issy narrowed her eyes further as the girl started talking to herself like some kind of lunatic- refraining from letting her eyes widen as she mentioned the yokai. No. She was not allowed to let hem know she knew. It would only get her into trouble, as her grandmother had warned.

Finally, Issy leaned down and offered the girl her hand. "Hey, you okay?" she asked wearily, her eyebrow still raised, "you look pretty worked up..." she totally ignored the fact that the girl had mentioned the yokai. It... didn't really have to mean anything, did it? Besides, Yokai didn't exist. At least they didn't in Issy's world- or so she decided. No, nothing irrational existed- everything could be explained with science and logic.

Kiseki Okinawa

Kiseki looked up at Issy and exhaled. She nervously took the teenager's hand and allowed herself to be pulled up.
Th-Thanks...
Kiseki blushed slightly and looked away.
Anyways, I uh, think I'm going to go back from where I came... so, y-yeah. I'm sorry, I don't know how you can get out of here... I-I'm a little lost too...
Kiseki scurried off in a random direction, attempting to go back to where she came from, but then she felt a strange presence. Kiseki felt like there was something near and from instinct, she looked up.

Kiseki screamed then fell back flat on her butt. Kiseki huffed then looked up at the wolf Yokai in the tree.
Y-You scared me...
Kiseki remembered the girl behind her and she scratched her head. She probably thinks I'm a freak, it looks like I'm talking to a tree... Kiseki jumped to her feet and wiped off her long coat. She looked back at the young girl and tried coming up with an excuse... And it turned out like;
I-I seen a... um, a walrus... Bye!
Without knowing which was the right way, Kiseki ran into the woods, taking one last glance up at Ryu.

Kiseki bolted through the forest, yet again. Why did he follow me? I don't want to do dark things! Kiseki stopped and exhaled. She looked up, seeing the whiteness of the sky peek through the trees that stood tall over her small body. Why do I have to be such a coward? Why can't I just be stronger!? Kiseki looked up at the sky and flashbacks of the scary Yokai flew through her mind. Kiseki literally shook her head, hoping the thoughts would shake away too. She kept on running through the woods, trying to find the mysterious woman and pink haired boy, while also trying to avoid the wolf Yokai and young girl.

By the time Kiseki could finally see the light in front of her, she was completely and utterly out of breath. However, she managed to find her way back to the shrine and she smacked herself on the forehead, looking at the back of the Yokai. Kiseki's legs just, stopped, and she let her body collapse. Kiseki was sitting in the snow, breathing heavily as she looked up at the sky. Kiseki fell backwards and just lied in the snow, staring up, almost forgetting about the two Yokai sitting there. This has been an interesting day...

Ryu

He smiled and waved when Kiseki saw him up in the tree. It seemed the girl she'd run into could see yokai as well. He shook his head as Kiseki gave another bizarre excuse and ran through the forest back towards his shrine. Ryu sighed and gently floated to the forest floor next to the other girl.
"My, my. She is an odd one. But I suppose that can be said of anyone that can see us. That includes you Miss."
He grinned at the girl before walking back to his shrine after Kiseki. He took the shortest path, leaping onto and over fallen trees in the path. He arrived at his shrine just after Kiseki. He walked around and turned to face her.

"I apologize if I scared you. I failed to realize you might've heard similar things from... less favorable yokai. I assure you that all I intended was to teach you how to use your spiritual power to keep yokai at bay. Nothing more, nothing less."
He tilted his head curiously. Obviously this girl had some unsavory history with yokai, but that could also be said of anyone that could see them.

Kiseki Okinawa

Kiseki just concentrated on the cold icy breath that was escaping her mouth. She looked over at Taiyo and exhaled. Taiyo and Fuyu looked sideways to her right now, since she was lying down.
I-I'm sorry... I was just a little taken back by Ryu-sama's request...
Kiseki looked over at Fuyu, who clearly didn't look impressed. Kiseki thought that trying to pet or talk to the small kitsune right now wouldn't do either of them any good, so she stayed on the ground and just looked back up.

Kiseki was starting to feel a little cold, after all her hard running, she forgot about her coldness. Just as if he read her mind, she felt something nice and warm drop right over her face. She opened her eyes and only seen slight darkness and fur. She lifted it off of her face and seen Taiyo looking down at her. Him suddenly being there so quietly scared her and she blushed lightly, after her weird twitchy reaction. Kiseki pondered his question for a moment and sighed.
I'm really sorry if I offended you both... But well, in case you haven't noticed, I'm kind of a nervous person. And well--

Almost as if he had read through her, Ryu showed up also quietly, causing Kiseki to do her strange scared twitch thing again, before she sighed.
It's okay, it's not your fault. And just as you said... I do have a bad experience with Yokai. I was very young when he first came around, his name was Akumu. And just like the meaning of his name, he could twist people's dreams. It was weird, I wanted to be a teacher when I was little, but he could also change my thoughts on my life goals.
Kiseki sat up and wrapped the coat around her shoulders.
And let's just say, I was a very different child for a while. By the way, thanks for the coat--
After Kiseki changed the subject, she remembered the guy with pink hair.

Kiseki looked at the two powerful Yokai and she jumped up to her feet, only to start flailing.
Oh no! If we don't save him, then that woman is going to destroy him!
Kiseki started flailing around more before remembering the girl from earlier.
Oh no! What about the young girl in the forest? She's totally lost! What if she trips and d-dies or something, we have to do something!
Kiseki sunk down in embarrassment again when she realized how annoying and loud she was being right now. Kiseki exhaled and quietly pondered the possibilities of saving them both.

Taiyo shrugged, and took a seat next to her, as he watched the snow fall down slowly. His tails moved, and laid on the ground beside himself and Kiseki. Listening he nodded slowly, then said "I see...Well perhaps you should take the wolf up on his offer. If you do control your spiritual power, it's possible to combat yokai like us." He paused, then rested his head on the palm of his hand. Helooked at Ryu, before saying

"Perhaps you should explain how to train her. That's probably the most scariest thing for her." Taiyo said with a small nod, before looking back at the girl as she started to jump up and flail but then fell back down next to him. Taiyo chuckled, before then saying "I'm sure the man is fine, after all he had a sword with him. I doubt he's one to go down easily. Even to that Snow wench." The sword was a holy sword, a type that could damage either one of the first class yokais here currently.

He paused, before then saying "As for the girl...I'm sure the wolf wouldn't allow a human to die correct? Since you guard this place." Though he wasn't sure, since the wolf didn't seem to help the girl before when Kiseki bumped into her.

Taiyo watched with interest, as the girl continued to disagree on the idea, but blinked in surprise as he felt the fur coat on him as it was cast aside. An annoyed look crossed his features slightly, but was covered by the coat. He pulled it off, then watched as the two continued to talk back at the stump. Fuyu had jumped down, and ran toward Taiyo, with a mutter of something about that ungrateful human doing something like that.

He continued to sit in the snow, as Fuyu hopped back inside of the coat that was now in his lap. Taiyo watched with mild interest as the blue fog came out of the wolf's mouth. He was curious why he would risk the life of himself for this human...was it for his own gain?...Or was it so he may make a contract?

Taiyo frowned at the thought of the contract, thing and stood up. If they were going to make one, he didn't want to see it. "I'll be back later." He said simply to the two, before walking back. In a short burst of blue colored fire, he was back in his human appearance. Perhaps he could go bother that other girl.

As he walked back down to the path, a silver looking stick came into view. Curious, he took a closer look. Picking it up, he twirled it around like a baton, before looking at Fuyu in question.

"It's a cane my lord! Old humans use it to help walk!" Came the kitsune's quick response. Taiyo nodded, then continued to walk through the path, looking for an old human that could have lost this.

Kiseki Okinawa

Kiseki felt really bad. She thought that all of this happening was her fault, so all she wanted to do at that moment was help Ryu become his true self again, but neither of them knew what was going on. Kiseki grew worried when she realized that even a strong "Yokai" like Ryu sounded concerned, so she quickly nodded then stood up.
You can stay at my house. Kiseki noticed his almost painful seeming reaction as soon as his feet touched the icy cold snow. Kiseki knew those small sandals he pulled out wouldn't be good enough for when he got out of the forest, so she decided that she'd shop for him.

Kiseki got a little excited for a moment, but then heard Ryu speaking then remembered the situation and got worried again. After nodding and heading towards, well, nowhere in particular, she thought about the people that were in the forest and she stopped and turned to Ryu.
Wait, what about Taiyo and Fuyu? Will they be okay? Maybe we should find them and tell them what has happened! And what about the girl I seen? She's just a normal teenager, she could be in danger!
Kiseki also thought back to the boy with pink hair, but although she was worried, she assumed he could stand up for himself. As for the other Yokai... She wasn't too concerned.
