History: Ryan Joseph King ,born to Dianne King, and Martin King in the capital state of Victoria, Australia. Ryan was a gifted swimmer even at a young age, and as he aged he obtained multiple awards and trophies in the sport, but this came at a price. Because his's swimming skill's were so well known at an early age Ryan suffered ridicule and teasing all throughout grade school. Names such as "Dolphin Boy" and "Guppy fish" were thrown at him by the jocks of other sports, and because of this Ryan spent most of his time in the ocean or in the the pool were he felt free and safe. With both Dianne and Martin King being marine biologist studying Oceanic wildlife, Ryan was offered many opportunities to sail the open sea and interact with oceanic mammals and fish alike. These creatures where his friends for a long time, that is until Ryan met Vanessa, the girl that would change his life.

Vanessa at the time of there meeting was a transfer student from the states during Ryan's last year of high school. The two bonded almost instantly and spent most of their time together during the first three months of school. Vanessa didn't care what other people thought of Ryan and wouldn't allow anyone to ridicule his name in her presence. This was Ryan's first taste of love and it was intoxicating, with Vanessa by his side he felt anything was possible. Ryan went on to finish the school year with top grades and graduated with honor, with Vanessa doing the same, but on the night of their graduation while driving home from a romantic beach date Ryan and Vanessa were rammed off the road by a drunk driver. Their car fell off a cliff and into the ocean, Ryan desperately tired to free the unconscious Vanessa from the car but his efforts were in vain and she died as they sank together. As time passed Ryan wondered why he had not drowned with the love of his life and it was then that he realized he had been breathing normally the whole time.

Two years passed and Ryan had began attending College to become a doctor on a swimming scholarship. His life was relatively normal and he continued to pursue his passions with the memory of Vanessa in his heart. One day her spirit presented itself to him and spoke to him, at first Ryan couldn't believe it and thought himself insane, but little did he know, Ryan's Astral magic abilities had begun to emerge. Vanessa continued to speak to Ryan occasionally but was bound by the law of God to not reveal any knowledge of the future. The two still shared a strong and loving bond often reminiscing about their past, but remained in separate realms unable to touch of feel each others embrace. One day while Ryan was grabbing lunch in his schools mess hall he collapsed for reasons unknown. Strangely enough Ryan had witnessed his self collapse as if he were looking in a mirror. he walked amongst his peers asking any and everyone for help but they were unable to hear, see, or feel his touch. This was the first time Ryan had entered Astral form and also the first time Vanessa was able to embrace him in over two years. The rush of emotions alone sent Ryan gasping back into his physical body crowded by a mob of stunned students and a team of paramedics.

As Ryan's powers continued to flourish out of his control a strange letter appeared in his mail box promising him control of his gifts if only he’d venture to Japan. and thus begins this chapter of his life...

As the sun rose on a new day Ryan found himself a bit sluggish out of bed. He peered at the mysterious folded letter and ticket that lay on his desk. "I wonder who's messing with me. No one knows about my powers and I've made a point to keep it that way." At that moment there was a knock on Ryan's door. "Letter for Ryan Joseph King"

Opening the door hesitantly as he was shirtless and still in his pajamas the 20 year old Australian male answered the women by simply saying "Yes?". The the Mail-women didn't seemed fazed by his nudity and acted as if nothing was wrong with it, "Sign here please" She held out a small touchscreen device and with a quick swipe of the stylus Ryan signed for the letter. "You have a good day sir." and without further adieu the women left only peering back ever so slightly at Ryan's pajamas, but more accurately his morning-wood. Looking down and noticing for himself Ryan stepped back inside and closed to door swiftly from embarrassment. He had nothing to be ashamed off but still he felt inappropriate. "Who's this from?" he asked himself as he opened the the packaging only to find a picture of a temple with writing on the back which read...

"Dear Pisces, the last of the 12 and most skeptical it seems. You have missed your flight to japan with the other 11 students but all is not lost, you have a gift that eliminates the need for such means of transportation. Focus on this picture and search your mind for this place. Do not consult maps or people for this place because they will not aid you, only with your mind can you arrive now.
Good Luck- The Elder"

"What is this bullshit? who's fucking with me?" after studying the picture for a minute Ryan threw the picture in the garbage in a fury and went into his bathroom for a relaxing morning shower. While in the shower Ryan thought about the words written on the back of the picture and focused his thoughts on where the temple in the picture could be. "Well obviously the temples of asian influence... and the tickets were for Japan..." Just like that Ryan's mind developed a clear birds eye image of the island of Japan although physically he was still showering in his dorm room. Suddenly the water around Ryan began to glow and swirl around him with Astral energy. Now focusing harder he began to pinpoint his search for the temple in his mind scanning over the main land finding places such as Kyoto and Tokyo, but as he began his search through the smaller islands the main water line in his bathroom burst and ruined his concentration. "Shit shit shit shit!" Ryan exclaimed as he tried his hardest turn the water supply off and prevent even more flooding.

Once the bathroom crises had been taken care of the now clean and slightly stressed out Ryan searched through his closet to find a pair of clean dark jeans and a clean v neck t-shirt to get him through the day. After exiting the room in hurry Ryan quickly remembered he'd left his keys and jacket so he turned back around grabbed the two items and locked up.

LATER THAT DAY

It was about quarter till noon when Ryan realized he was late for swimming practice which started promptly at 12:00PM sharp all the way across campus. "Crap coach is gonna kill me!" Ryan screamed as he began weaving through the sea of people that stood in his way. "Watch it jackass!" yelled one of the students Ryan accidentally bumped into. "Do that again and ill kick you're ass!" Screamed another angry victim of Ryan's rush. No matter how well of a swimmer he was, on land he could be quite the klutz when in a hurry. With only seconds to spare Ryan burst through the door yelling. "Im here!....Im here coach." Klaus, Ryan's coached yelled back in reply "Your not here until you're in the water swimming laps, you hear me!... and you got about 20 seconds."
"Yes sir" replied Ryan as he ran for the locker room removing what articles of clothing he could. swiftly spinning the dial on his combination locker, he opened the door and removed his swimming speedo before quickly putting it on and running out to the pool area. "You're late Ryan. "But I was just...." "I don't wanna hear your excuses, get in secondary pool and give me 10 laps." "Oh come on, if it were anyone else you'd let them slide or at least only give them 5 laps at most!" "Oh boo whoo, now hop to it! "This is bullshit." Muttered Ryan under his breath as he slowly made his way to the secondary pool, which was famously known for being a good 3 degrees colder.

As Ryan backstroked his way down the lanes he couldn't help but think about his experience earlier in the shower, he still had a clear mental image of the temple and even though he'd never been to japan he was still able to get a clear image of the island as if he were hovering thousands of miles in the air looking down upon it. "I still never found that temple" he thought to him self as he completed a flip turn and started his second lap. "I wonder..." and before Ryan could finish his thought he stopped stroking and closed his eyes allowing himself to float in the water and concentrate back on the temple. Ryan's mind began to search throughout the islands off the main land of Japan when almost like a train coming to sudden halt the image of a particular island filled his minds eye. "Is this the place?" he thought to himself as his body floated motionless in the pool of now glowing water. Ryan continued to search the island with his mind when finally he caught sight of the Temple and its adjacent landing pad. Also with his minds eye it appeared as if 11 young adults were entering a helicopter and preparing for take off with their belongings off the closest coast of Japan, 6 girls and 5 boys. It was like watching through a window for Ryan, he could see the Island clear as day, but he knew he was still in a pool in Australia. "I guess I'd be the sixth guy if I was there... it sure looks nice...the water looks clear and warm... better than this freezing pool..... I wish I was there...."

Suddenly the glowing water around Ryan's body began to swirl into a whirlpool and began dragging him down to the depths of the pool. He opened his eyes and reached for the surface but it was too late the water had taken him and he just seemed to go deeper and deeper "Whats happening to me." he thought to himself as he continued to sink way past what should've been the bottom of the pool. Then almost like a beacon of hope Ryan could see a light opening up underneath him, it was warm and felt almost like sunlight as the current around him continued to push him toward it. "Am I dying? is this it for me?" Unable to tell what was up, down, left, or right any mores Ryan contemplated his death, when all of a sudden a column of water clearly visible from the take off pad pushed him up 10 feet into the air and out of the ocean an a few miles off the coast of the island. "OHHHH SHIIIIIIT" Screamed Ryan as he plummeted back toward the water, his voice caring over onto the main land. With a loud splash Ryan's body made contact with the water and after overcoming the pain of his 10 foot back flop he made his way toward the beach and more precisely the Temple.

Shiloh Marshall

Shiloh sighed in relief as she heard the rotor blades of the helicopter start up. She strapped into her seat and grabbed one of the many pairs of headphone’s used to block out the loud sound of the copter and to communicate with the driver, the old man whose name still is unknown to her. Once Shiloh double checked she was strapped in properly she relaxed into the seat. Following rules always seemed to calm her down, that and the thought of going deaf completely left her mind once she found out the headphones did a good job at blocking out noise. Before the helicopter started she had a few short sentences spun her way but the person always changed their focus somewhere else almost immediately so Shiloh saw no harm in not answering. She also saw the other’s taking in each other’s appearance and almost everyone’s eyes had stayed on her a moment to long for her liking but then a lot of their gazes would shift to the young tall man, Luke if she had heard him correctly, and they would eye him up like their favorite sweet tempting them closer. There was one man, whose name she picked up as Xander, gave her a look she was all too familiar with the one that clearing thought they show through what charade you are trying to put on, like dying your hair and wearing contact’s. Sadly Shiloh did neither of those things, her features were as true and pure as the day she was born.

A suddenly wave of unnatural warmth spread over Shiloh, the air around her feeling thick, but the moment is disappear Shiloh gave out a frightened squeak as a girl with golden brown hair popped into existence in the seat just across from hers.
‘That…that girl ju..just teleported! Wow’ Shiloh thought to herself as the sudden flash of fright started to disappear. She had to remember these people had powers. Like her. The thought of her own person always left a bitter taste in her mouth. Seeing and raising the dead! Why couldn't she have a power like the brown haired girl that said she was super strong. Shiloh huffed quietly but was interrupted when a loud thunk hit her window and another squeak left her. Looking out her window Shiloh shivered when she saw a large raven flying alongside the helicopter, hitting its head on the window. With a closer look at the vermin you could clearly see the tire marks over its flattened stomach and that half of its face looked as though it had been chewed off by a rat. The creature was dead yet here it was flying and from the looks of it trying to get through the window.

‘No! GO AWAY!’ Shiloh yelled at it with her thoughts but the bird just kept trying. Even when Shiloh could clearly see the island now it was still with them, still trying to get at her. She hoped no one else noticed. Sighing she decided to try and distract herself by watching Adriana get out of her seat and pull out some tarot cards. But it seemed the more she ignored the beast the more noise it made. Out of the corner of her eye Shiloh thought she saw someone move their head to look her way and she acted fast picking up a random tarot card from Adriana’s stack and placing it on the window. Now Shiloh didn’t believe in tarot cards being accurate but when she saw she had picked up the Devil card a shiver ran up her spine. When she left the jerking motion of the helicopter landing Shiloh moved quickly, unbuckling herself and grabbing her luggage.

“Sorry” Shiloh mumbled to Adriana as she quickly gave her back the card and rushed off the helicopter, her feet landing harshly on the tarmac. Shiloh glanced around. The island was beautiful but once she spotted it her eyes never left it. Cause there it was that damned dead vermin that just won’t die and leave her alone, perking innocently on a small rock its clouded dark gaze never leaving her for a second.

Just die already!

Didn't receive any answer from the guy, Krys sighed and then leaned his back on the seat and tried to relax, he put on his sunglasses again and looked out the window as the cloud now has turned brown red. "Must be about half-past six now", Krys thought, "hope that they'll turned up soon. It was pretty late now." A few minutes later, the black-hair boy and hazel-eyes girl which he sat next to on the plane rushed on the copter. "I wonder what kept them so long", Krys shrugged and then continue to looked out of the window and admired the beautiful scenery on the Kyoto's coast. Then he overheard a conversation from the old, strange guy. It seemed that someone has got on the Gyojo Island before them. Krys then frowned, "Huh? I thought the letter said that we can only get to the island through a helicopter, so how did he, or she, get there before us?", he thought, "oh well, we'll find out when we get there."

Then after that, Krys shivered when a breeze suddenly blew past him and the golden-brown hair girl he saw on the plane appeared from nowhere and now sitting near him. Feeling surprised, Krys let out a small "woah". "Wow, she can teleport?", he thought. Well yeah, he isn't the only one who has power around here. Maybe everyone's powers might be cooler, or even much more powerful than his own. But that is why Krys is here - to work with people who are special like him. Krys closed his eyes to calm down a bit , then yawned and stretched his arms. "Alright, everyone's here, finally it's time to take off", Krys said. As the door of the copter closed and the old guy has gotten on, Krys could heard the sound of the wings turning around slowly and then faster and then they were taken off the coast and flying to the sunset, towards the Gyojo Island. It only the matters of time before he could finally find answers for his questions. Since they were flying to a pretty out-from-the-world island, this flight might be pretty long, so Krys and everyone could take their time. The conversations on the copter had quiet down. Krys just silently looked out the window to watched the ocean. The water down there was pretty fresh, so he could saw some fishes swimming, he even saw some dolphins jumping out of water, Krys then smiled softly as he enjoyed the peacefulness that he has always yearning for.

Krys was surrounded by so many people, he still felt a bit lonely and it seemed that no one will be willing to talk with him all of a sudden. Krys sighed and wondered how was his mother, and his friends at the university. Even though Krys has just left for a day, but he still kinda missed his friends, and his family. He thought that he has left everything behind of him the moment he decided to take part in studying at the Academy, but it seems that it was harder to throw it all away than he thought. Krys then looked around, "Maybe they won't mind...", he thought. Then Krys held his right hand out while chanting softly, "Accerso Lillium flamma faery." A small fire then appeared and swirling on his hand and a small-sized fairy with a firey-wings, red head and red robes walked out from the fire. "You summoned me, Master?", the fairy giggled and said. "Yeah, Lilly", Krys smiled. Well, anytime Krys felt lonely or needed some advices, he summoned Lillium - The Fairy of Fire. She was very wise, and even though she was just a spirit summoned by Krys, she always listened to Krys and talk with him. They actually don't have to verbally converse, they can just converse through their minds.

"It looks like you're on your way to your destiny", Lilly said while sitting on Krys' hand after looking around. "Those people sitting around you here are your soon-to-be collegues, right?"

"Yeah", Krys said, "and I had a feeling I will be just fine."

"So why did you summon me? What may I advise you?"

"It was nothing, it just I needed someone to talked, that's all", Krys smiled softly, "I've left everything behind. My family, my friends, my study,... everything. But it seemed hard to just let them all go. So do you think that I have the strenght to face whatever I will have to face in the future?"

"I know you can do it, Master", Lilly giggled, "you were just a small boy, a person who can't control his power by the time you first summoned me. But now, you've became much stronger than you used to be. So I believe that whatever is in front of you, you can easily washes them away by your fire, a fire that will never die even in the hardest time. And I will always besides you to help you."

"Thanks", Krys smiled, feeling better, "you may leave now. After that, can you go and see how was my mother doing?"

"I will, Master. See you again", Lilly smile and then bowed before Krys then disappeared. "When I got there, I just wanna immerse myself in a hot tub and then going to sleep a long sleep", Krys yawned then continued looking out the window. Looks like they will be there soon.

“Anyone feel like knowing their future?”, said Adriana as she sat on the floor and put a set of Tarot cards on her seat. "No way", Krys surprised, "you can tell someone's future? That's awesome."

Krys than motions for Adriana to pick him, but she picked Seryn instead. "Aw, I want to know my future too", Krys whinned. Yeah, he is kinda childish sometimes.

After a few hours of flying, finally they arrived at the island. The island was very beautiful even in the night. When the copter flew on the island, Krys could felt that they've just penetrated through an invisible barrier. The copter slowly landed on the landing site as the door opened. Krys then took his luggage and jumped out. He then took a deep breath and feeling refreshed than ever. As he noticed, a curly-brown hair guy was wandering around the coast from afar, must be the guy who got here first. Krys then waved towards him, motions him to join their group. A while later, an old, bald guy with a long, white beard and a blonde-hair middle-aged lady came forth and greeted them.

Stephen watched as Adriana read someone's fortune, wondering curiously how that even worked. 'Do these people really think they have powers? How strange... Though that one did change her face... But that had to be an illusion.' He furrowed his brow as he mused throughout the ride, wondering what kind of crazy people he'd surrounded himself with, but blinked and shook his head to clear his thoughts when he thought he heard something. He looked up and saw a very much dead, but very much flying bird bouncing against the window, and his eyes narrowed again. 'Pretty convincing illusions... What is this, magician's school? Ah hell, can't hurt to learn a few tricks. Might help with the ladies.' He smirked as he thought of that and spent the rest of the flight thinking of different flashy tricks he might learn to meet women.

When they touched down he grabbed his luggage and stepped off, standing to the side of where he assumed a large group of them would form, not wanting to be as surrounded and cramped as he'd been on the helicopter, and started looking around. "Damn... Wonder how much they pay their landscaper..." he mused aloud.

To entertain herself whilst the helicopter took the group to their destination, Vanessa closed her eyes and drew a deep breath, focusing as she started her adventure into the mind of those around her. No-one really seemed to be thinking of anything all that interesting, they all seemed indulged in their own activities, so she settle on the mind of her cab and plane buddy Stephen. Luckily enough for her, his thoughts proved amusing, and to confuse him she spoke outloud, "Illusions of a sort.." she smiled and spoke quietly amongst the occasional chatter and whirring of the helicopter blades.

It wasn't a habit of Vanessa to resist, and almost force something to happen for her own amusement, but in a helicopter where nobody was talking and those who were had their voices drowned amongst the noise that the helicopter itself made, Vanessa felt her only was of speaking or even entertaining herself would be to tap into their minds, and so Vanessa struck into Stephen's senses, and hightened his hearing, allowing him to take notice of the bird that had then slammed itself into the window. Vanessa opened her eyes and looked over to the bird, and gave a small smirk when she realised that it was the silver-haired girl it was after. "It seems you have a friend" Vanessa spoke into the girls mind, allowing her words to echo amongst the girl's thoughts while she turned her attention back to Stephen.

"The ladies?" Vanessa chuckled not-so-purposely into Stephen's head, "And who is it you are attempting to woo?" she grinned, looking over to Stephen as she felt the helicopter then make a smooth landing. Still watching and grinning to Stephen for a moment while she awaited the others to leave so she would have space to navigate her way out of her seat. Though Stephen only seemed to be able to reply with the same confused look she had seen earlier.

Vanessa laughed to herself and stepped off of the helicopter, slinging her bag onto her shoulder as she looked around and took in a deep breath of the island's air. Standing amongst the group as she took in the surroundings, Vanessa now took her time to eye them up one by one and try to figure out what sort of power they possesed.

The warm water soothed Ryan's stinging back after his free fall return into the ocean. Allowing himself a second recuperate and bask in the setting sun Ryan thought to himself "How did I get here? but then again who cares Its beautiful here, V would've loved to see this place...". Ryan's mind when quite upon accidentally reminiscing about his deceased love, and It didn't take long for tears to begin forming under his light blue eyes. "Not a day goes by when I don't miss you" said Ryan as he peered over the ocean's surface hoping to see Vanessa's spirt one more time. It had been months since she last appeared to him and he missed her dearly even in death. Ryan's train of thought was interrupted by the loud passing of the helicopter above him having completely forgotten about the others who he would be meeting on the island. So Without further pause Ryan submerged him self a few feet and began swimming as fast as he could doing his best not to lose sight of the helicopter above.

Doing his best to keep up with the pace of the flying behemoth of a helicopter Ryan noticed he was gaining on three dolphins out in front of him. Racing at a speed faster than that of a swordfish Ryan soon caught up to and passed his "mammalian mates" as he called them due to the frequent teasing and name calling he received in grade school. "Dolphin Boy, god I used to hate that name but look at me now Im Dolphin man!" he Joked to himself now leading the pod. The Island was not so far off now, so Ryan slowed his pace to that of the dolphins around him and allowed the copter to disappear from his underwater view.

Ryan continued to swim with the the pod until they had reached the outskirts of the beach, and after a quick rub of their snouts he continued onward to take his first steps on the island. Ryan's feet sunk in the sand leaving footprints that were soon washed away by the tide "So I guess head up there huh?" He said out loud to himself as he continued to walk in the direction of temple. Ryan could still partially see the landing pad in the distance with some of the others still unloading their belongs, so he took the opportunity to go inside and try to find a towel to dry himself off, along with some clothes since he had no way of bringing his own.

While walking through the temple in search of someone to help him with his dilemma a shimmery and seemingly translucent figure appeared in the corner of his eye. "Vannessa.... Vannessa! he shouted wanting to get the attention of what he hoped was his friend but to no avail, the spirit continued to walk without so much as looking back. Without further thought Ryan instantly gave up on his search for clothing and began running after the ghost. After a few seconds of running Ryan had caught up and was now only few feet behind when suddenly the spirt took a sharp turn around a corner that led outside, forcing Ryan to hastily follow suit. Sliding around the corner at almost full speed Ryan uncontrollably collided with a girl with silvery white hair and Purple eyes. Ofcourse Ryan didn't notice her shocking features until after he had knocked her almost to the ground. "Im so sorry are you alright!?" he asked franticly, hoping he hadn't hurt her or gotten her too wet. "I shouldn't have been running so fast with no shoes on... he began explaining with his Australian accent bleeding through with every word. As he spoke Ryan's eyes wandered about searching for the spirit he had been chasing but was if it had disappeared without a trace.

Krys quietly closed his eyes and felt the coastal breeze in the night blowing softly through his hair. "I had a feeling that this place is a place to be, for me and for everyone...", Krys thought while giggling. The hazel eyes girl walked past him and standing in the middle of the group while looking around at everyone, including Krys. He frowned, "What is she doing?", he secretly thought and then shrugged. Adriana got on the copter again to grabbed somethings she forgot. But when she took it, her eyes became blank like when she was do the telling for Krys.

“Respiro ... non riesco a respirare”, Adriana said between gasps before she collapsed on the tarmac. Krys saw that and quickly helped her to stand up. "Are you okay?", he asked. Adriana looked at Shiloh - the gray-hair girl in horror. Krys then frowned while glanced at the girl.

"There's somethings really strange about that girl. The aura around her... is full of destruction", Krys speaks softly. "Perhaps we'll know better about her when someone in the Academy explain to us", Krys said.

A while later, Xander - the guy who sat the opposite of Krys earlier walked down the copter. Krys blushed again when he saw him. Krys shyly looked at the guy and accidentally caught his eyes. "Oh...my...", Krys thought. The look in his eyes was so persuasive, as if anyone look in those eyes, they'll instantly do whatever he asked them to do. "Is this his "power"?", Krys wondered.

"Hey, this feeling...", Krys frowned when he suddenly felt something. This is the feeling Krys could felt whenever he get close to a spirit. Because after all, spirits are supernatural beings and they have their very own aura. Each spirit have a different aura, and there aren't any spirits who had the same aura, like there aren't any people with the same fingerprints. Since Krys has got used to summoning spirits, he somehow acquired the ability to sense if there are any spirits near him, but Krys can't see them unless he summon them.

Krys tried to sense the aura. A moment later, Krys saw the curly-hair boy earlier was running, like he was chasing something. Then after that, the feeling was gone. "What just happened?", Krys raised an eyebrow.

The helicopter landed with a soft thud on the beach. "Finally.." Xander sighed in relief... he was exhausted.

By now, the sun was just beyond the horizon, and it was pretty dark outside. He tried to peek out the window to get a good look at his surroundings, but the windows were too tinted for him to see. He waited patiently while most of the others got out and unloaded their bags.

As Xander waited, he realized Adriana's 'The Devil' card was still plastered to the window. He thought about taking it to her, but she seemed to realize when she doubled back onto the helicopter and grabbed it herself. She paused for a minute... Xander wondered if everything was alright. Before he could speak up, she stumbled out of the aircraft.

Xander grabbed his stuff and hopped out onto the sand. "Oh... my.... God." was the only thought he could conjure while he looked around and took it all in, realizing just in that moment that he was in paradise. "Dude... this is gonna be sick!!!!" a big smile swept across his face as his exhaustion was suddenly washed away and replaced by excitement. He took every bit of it in; the beach, the sand, the palm trees - the wind was constantly blowing, and it was hella warm even after sundown. The air was clean and smelled fresh like the ocean.. Xander loved that smell.

He began to imagine all the wild parties they could have at this place, if not even right in this very spot. "I'm imagining some tiki torches over there, we could set up a table for beer pong right here, a fire pit just over there.." and then he realized that he was accidentally talking out loud.

"Oops.." he though to himself. "Hehe, my excitement must've got the better of me." he didn't even really care about looking stupid at this point. He was more concerned with his party ideas. He suddenly found himself highly encouraged to initiate at least some kind of social event to break the ice - he didn't even care what kind - although he figured a party would be perfect. After all, these WERE going to be his new friends and classmates for the next ...however long... and he figured they might as well get to know each other.
"Right?"
Throwing parties was Xander's specialty. He may not have been the most avid talker when it came to dealing with people (particularly strangers), but he sure as hell knew how to get people to loosen up and have a good time. Besides, he was just itching to have some fun! He had been so consumed with trying to make ends meet back in L.A., he couldn't even remember the last time he had thrown one of his infamous soirees.

Just then as he was drawn out of his overly-excited fantasies, he realized Adriana must not have been feeling so well... It looked like she had broken down on the ground. Xander's immediate instinct was to go over and help her, see if she was okay. But he noticed Krys had beat him to it, so he stopped himself and took a step back. He approached the scene hesitantly, trying to avoid contact with Krys. "Hey, uh.. are you okay? Adriana?" he took her by the arm and tried to help her up. "What's going on?" he asked gently, trying to address her in a way that he felt wasn't pressuring her to respond; he didn't want her straining herself seeing as she was clearly weakened. She spoke under her breath in another language, it sounded like Italian to Xander. "Lots of multicultural people at this place.." he noted.

Suddenly a shaky voice crept into the scene from behind Xander; he turned around a bit startled to discover it was the helicopter pilot. "My girl.. are you alright?" he asked.

Xander stepped away so that the man could get in closer.

"Adriana, did you have a vision?" the man spoke in a strange accent. Xander thought it sounded almost British, but not quite. "Just wait, my girl. I've summoned The Elder."

"The who..?" Xander interjected quietly, looking around for any one of the other kids to respond. Right then, two figures emerged in the distance through the darkness, slowly making their way down the beach toward the group. As they got closer, Xander observed that it was an old guy in a sort of traditional Japanese-style monk-robe-type-thing. He was certain he had recognized the garb from some kind of Jackie Chan movie he'd seen a long time ago or something. It was familiar, like a picture straight out of a History book. Next to him was a woman, the other figure, who had long straight hair and some kind of strange makeup on, although it was hard to make out any of the details in the dark.

"Oooohhh... The Elder, like from the letter." Xander recalled. "So, this is the guy who summoned us here..?"

The Elder approached Adriana and knelt before her.

"Scorpio, Master." the creepy pilot spoke again. Xander got the shivers whenever he talked.. he was just strange.

"Ahh, of course!" The Elder responded, his voice surprisingly sprightly for a man of his age. He smiled. "My water signs, the eyes-and-ears of the other side. What would I do without you, hmm?" he looked into the girl's eyes, still smiling. Even though this moment was strange, Xander somehow felt soothed... comforted... by it. He didn't know if it was just the presence of The Elder or what. Anytime the man spoke, Xander felt at home.

"What is he talking about, though..?" Xander continued to wonder.

The Elder began eying all the students and it appeared like he was counting in his head. "Eleven? Only Eleven? Hmmm.. Pisces." he remarked.

"Oh is THAT what this is..? You're talking about zodiacs? Do you really believe in that stuff?"

The Elder seemed too distracted to even respond to Xander.

"That one is always wandering off, Master. Even in previous incarnations did he have a penchant for straying upon a whim."

The Elder gave a hearty chuckle, his laughter inspiring Xander to smile as well. He didn't even know why he began to smile.. he didn't even feel like smiling right then. The Elder was infectious. Xander noted that fact immediately.

"Of course!! Well no matter, I'm sure he will present himself in due time. I can sense he is somewhere on the grounds, so at least he is safe." he smiled again. "Well then students, as beautiful a night as this is, we ought to head inside don't you think? I know it is late, and I'm sure you all must be getting tired; you've had quite an arduous journey getting here, but I am so glad that you all came! We have much to do tomorrow! For this evening, I shall have my mistress here set up a place for you all to sleep in the meditation room. First thing in the morning we'll have a tour and begin with introductions. Stewart, won't you see that the kids' things get to their rooms properly?"

"It is done, Master."

"Excellent!" The Elder exclaimed and then turned back to the kids. "Well? Shall we!?" Still he wore his cheerful grin as he eagerly motioned towards the massive illuminated temple in the distance.

Vanessa turned, narrowing her eyes into the distance - she could have sworn she heard her name being called out. But then her attention was drawn to a small number of people who had rushed to help the red-haired girl up from where she had fallen. Vanessa had thought perhaps she cuaght herself and tripped from the helicopter, but apparently the girl was having a vision? The pilot seemed to know about the passengers - the eleven - and so Vanessa wondered what and how much he knew of them. She smiled a bit, turning her attention away from the red-head as then yet another girl was knocked over. Vanessa tried to move in time but she suffered enough force for her also to be knocked back, but she was able to balance herself and managed to stay up-right, then giving off a glare to the man who had bumped into the other girl, "Watch were you're going" she snarled slightly, then glanced to his bare torso, "And put on some clothes, you're in the presence of The Elder" she say fluently, gesturing toward the elderly man with her delicate hand.

Slightly confused by what she had just said, Vanessa turned to see the man - who was in fact The Elder - and smirked to herself. She wasn't sure exactly how, but apparently her telepathy let her know that this man, The Elder, was near. Maybe since he's so important, we're all just hardwired to him. Interesting. she thought curiously over in her head, squinting her eyes a bit, and the nodding to The Elder as he spoke, hitching up her bag again which had fallen from her shoulder slightly. As she began walking toward the allocated direction, Vanessa felt something touch her, and turned on her heels to see Stephen, making a childish "Boop" sound as he poked her. "Do you mind?" she replied harshly - she was tired from the adventure already and using her powers so frequently didn't help her either, and so when she was tired, she became somewhat cranky and easy to annoy. "I just want to settle in and read.." she sighed to herself, heading up the steps.

Adriana

The elder spoke as they entered the temple. "First, we will take you to your dorms. There, you can find your own rooms. Then have a good-night sleep. Tomorrow, I will gather all of you here to take you on tour and begin your training. And don't worry, the dorms had been modernized and furnished to make it comfortable for you, but still keeps it ancient-atmosphere", he said with a soft smile. "Steward, please take Aries, Sagittarius and Leo to the Fire Wing, me and Laffoue will take the rest to their dorms. Rest well, children."

As soon as that was said they split into their perspective groups and followed their leader. Adriana’s own group was led by the Elder himself. She felt bad at the fact that she had to hold back a yawn. She was exhausted. Visions like the ones she had earlier tended to wear her out….then again the end of the world would wear anyone out.

She realized as they were walking that there was no way she would be able to find her way back to the main hall even if her life depended on it.

Adriana sighed and ran her fingers through her hair as she looked around at her fellow water signs. She noticed that the man she had originally done a reading for earlier on the plane, Seryn was amongst her group. She felt herself smile but couldn’t quite figure out why….Her eyes roamed him for a moment before she remembered he didn’t seem to want anything to do with her after her vision….and that strangely bothered her. So she was a freak…weren’t most people here a freak? And the worst part was that he didn’t even know what her true power was…

‘Then he would have a right to be afraid, considering she could kill or maim any living thing with a touch of her delicate manicured hands…..’ She thought a little bitterly.

Adriana looked around as they had come to a stop. They were in a huge ancient looking room she assumed were their common room. Water flowed every which way though a beautiful aquatic system that made Adriana want to stand under the fountains of water. They continued moving but only for a few more feet. They walked down a corridor and where faced with three doors. Adriana felt her eyes grow heavier at the sight of them.

“These are your rooms my Aquatic symbols, rest well…we will see each other again tomorrow.” He said with a small bow before he left them to pick a room. Adriana didn’t care whose room was whose, she walked to the closest one which happened to be the middle door, and opened. She was awed by the architecture of the room and delighted by the baby sea turtle that swam by as she watched.

‘This might just be legit.’ She thought to herself with a smile.

“Good night guys, sleep tight.” She said as she closed her door and fell onto her bed with a sigh of relief.

Shiloh just silently observed the group as she stood by the entrance, the dead crow still hovering around. Oh how she wished it would go away. A mild sense of concern ran through her vein's as she saw the red headed woman, Adriana, almost fall from the helicopter. Shiloh watched as the woman stumbled and tried to catch her breath though with her breathing so quickly it seems like almost impossible. What happened to her? She's so pale and fear stricken. But when Adriana's panic filled eyes shot to Shiloh she saw the fear and confusion that lay within those chocolate brown orbs and Shiloh instantly though of the worst.

Was she.....scared of me?

Actually now that she notices some of the other's have looked her way as well, all with the same mixture of confusion and weary in their eyes. Shiloh only sighed figuring she wasn't going to be making any friends any time soon. She listened as the Steward and the Elder conversed with Adriana then the Elder saying he would show them their living quarter's. For some reason Shiloh didn't feel the same loving comfort around the Elder that she clearly saw on everyone else's face. Shiloh just nodded in acknowledgement and was about the follow the group when she felt like a wall just crashed into her, making her tumble to the ground and land hard on her butt.

"Ouch..." she mumbled softly as she looked up at the thing that had crashed into her. Or should she say someone. A small blush crept to her cheeks as she saw that it was a shirtless man that had tackled her to the ground. She listened to him apologize as she stood back up. The man was soaking wet and her camo t-shirt had adsorbed most of the moisture with the short impact, making the clothe tingle to her body uncomfortably. Shiloh grabbed at the material and pulled it away from her skin so the damp shirt now hung. And surprisingly no matter how much she may have wanted to get angry at the man's clumsiness and disregard of proper clothing she couldn't find it in her. Its not like she had the bravery to yell at him anyway.

"No I...I'm fine just a little wet is all" Shiloh mumbled then bent down and unzipped her fallen duffel bag before searching through it and pulling out a large pale blue beach towel. She didn't know if they would have anything so like always she came prepared.

"Here, just please return it to me once you have found some clothing" Shiloh said gently as she placed the towel in his hands and followed after the group. The steward and Elder were gone by the time she got there and the woman was just about to lead the 'Air' people....whatever that means.... and Shiloh's own little group was left waiting for a short period of time before the Elder seemed to appear out of no where.

"Come this way my earth bound soul's, I do believe you will very much enjoy the unique flora and fauna I have gathered for you" The Elder smiled cheerfully at them as he started down the east hallway, Shiloh and the rest of the group following behind him. She didn't know how long those winding halls before the walls turned to more ancient looking architecture unlike what they saw when they first arrived. When they reached the end of the hallway the room expanded the walls almost disappearing as the towering tree's with their thick bushels seemed to swallow the room. It was idea beautiful, the most beautiful and enchanting thing Shiloh has ever seen.

"I wish you all a good night's rest and I will see you all bright and early......oh Capricorn may I speak with you for a moment" the Elder asked and Shiloh looked around, wondering who he was talking to. When she looked back at him the Elder was looking at her. Shiloh pointed a finger at herself and the Elder nodded before motioning her to him. She sighed as she followed him.

"I have made a point of giving you this room because I feel no other would feel....comfortable with it" the Elder said and motioned for Shiloh to open the door. Her skin prickled and spine stiffened for the room seemed to give off and eery feeling. Taking in a deep breath Shiloh opened the door. It was beautiful with the large wooden bed with dark green sheets, light wooded floors, light colored walls and the large glass wall that showed the forest behind it. But what caught Shiloh's attention was that she also had a clear, still breath taking view, of a grave yard. She shot around the tell the Elder no way but stopped when she saw he was gone. He gave her a room.....by the cemetery. Great.

Sighing Shiloh just simply put her bags on the floor by a wooden dresser, removed her wet shirt and jeans, took a large t-shirt out of her bags, pulled it on, then walked to the bed and crawled under the blankets and face in the pillows. She left the lights on, after that if the darkness surrounded her that grave yard might just come knocking on the glass wall.

To Ryan's surprise he had actually caused two girls to lose their balance but they both seemed alright, and most importantly they didn't want to rip his head off. "Watch were you're going" snarled the girl who hadn't been knocked over. So maybe that one owanted to rip his head off but one out of two was still pretty good in his mind. Ryan was never the best with conflicts, and he certainly didn't want to start making any enemies here on the island. Doing his best to asset the girl off the ground without doing any further harm, Ryan flashed a genuine yet embarrassed smile of apology the group before being offered a towel by the same girl he had just leveled to the floor. "Thank you so much." he responded graciously accepting the towel before wrapping it around his waist to cover his speedo. Next came the remark "And put on some clothes, you're in the presence of The Elder" "Oh no, let the awkwardness begin." He thought to himself ashamed of his appearance, but again to his surprise the elderly man just smiled and motioned for him to join the group.

The twelve young adults were then split into fours groups the fire sign, the air signs, the earth signs, and Ryan's group the water signs.
After being led to their chambers Ryan allowed the Red headed girl to choose her room first and seeing she had chosen he middle one he smiled and immediately walked to the right on "Right is always right" Ryan joked to himself remembering his school boy saying. “Good night guys, sleep tight.” could be heard from next door and he replied "Thanks you too." Ryan was beyond tired after the strange events of his day that lead to him skipping over several timezones and him swimming several miles to an unmarked island. Honestly all Ryan wanted now was sleep and unable to muster anymore strength he just fell face first into the clean linen sheets and drifted away.

DREAM

Opening his eyes Ryan found himself on a beach with his flannel shirt partially unbuttoned, paired with his khaki beach shorts that came just above the knee. To his right was a basket filled with fruit salad and a sandwich for two. To his left was the most beautiful girl Ryan had ever seen, lying her head on his shoulders, her long frizzy hair tickling the back of his neck.

"So how was your day hun? she asked as they stared across the ocean toward the setting sun with their hands buried together in the sand. "You wouldn't believe me if I told you" replied Ryan with a small chuckle as if he didn't believe it himself. "You don't know that, try me." she replied with a sweet smile across her face "Well first i received another one of those strange letters today, you know the red one i told you about inviting me to some school in Japan, then when i was in the shower i had this weird felling like time was standing still.... then my water pipe burst and made a huge mess, almost turned my bathroom into my own personal pool. The two laughed in unison still watching the waves crash against the surf. "Keep going i wanna hear all of your day. Ryan smiled and continued "Well after everything was patched up I left out for some lunch and swim practice, but thats when things got weird... "How so? the girl momentarily interjected "Well I was late again..." this time instead of interrupting she just shook her head as if to say "as always" "no but get this it was only by a few seconds, and coach made me swim extra laps in the secondary pool, you know the one thats always cold." "Thats okay those extra laps are good for ya, they keep your body nice and sexy" she said before laying a gentle kiss to the exposed portion of Ryan's chest in an attempt to make him feel better. "Thanks sweetheart" responded Ryan as he returned her kiss with a kiss of his own to the top of her head. "But anyway I actually didn't get to finish those laps, when I was in the water i got that feeling again except this time something happened." "Something like what? "I got sucked into some kind of whirlpool and it dragged me down under water. "Oh no" she interjected facetiously before laughing at her own facetiousness. Ryan couldn't help but laugh as well there was something about her laugh that could make even his impending death seem funny. "Its not funny V, I was kinda scared, to be honest, it kept dragging me deeper and deeper and then before I knew it I was 10 feet in the air above the ocean falling straight down to my back. "Aww poor baby" she responded facetiously again. Ryan looked down to his girlfriend "I don't like you right now." he said with a smile, "I love you to" she replied.

It was now dark, the star, and moon light barely illuminating the only couple left on the beach.

Ryan now had his arm wrapped around the girls shoulders sharing his warm with her. "Its getting late hun we should probably start heading back. he said. "Just a little longer I'm really enjoying this." she replied as she snuggled in tighter with Ryan. With a smile Ryan gently moved his girlfriend chin so that he could give her a long gentle kiss. "Come on its time sweetheart"

The two arose as one and walked over to Ryan's Subaru outback hand in hand, once inside Ryan heard Vanessa say "Buckle your seatbelt loser" but as always Ryan ignored her comment. once on the road a thought popped into Ryan's head. "Oh, i never asked you, what did you do today V? "It's a secret" she replied hesitantly "Well whisper it in my ear then and ill keep it for you." replied Ryan with a laugh
Vannessa leaned over nearly placing her lips on his ear and whispered

"I died"
At this exact moment a truck came crashing into the passenger side of the car and launched it through the guard rail and into the ocean. As the water came rushing in Ryan awoke.

Gasping back into consciousness Ryan awoke unable to remember anything that had just occurred except one thing V's lips touching his.

"Hey Xander,"

Xander was startled out of his own thoughts.

"I hope that we will take a *major* step in our relationship soon!"

Xander looked over at Krys to find him wearing a big cheeky grin.
"Erm..." he though to himself.

"Ahah... hahaha..." Xander tried to nervously laugh off the comment, attempting with every bit of himself to prevent the blood from rushing to his face.

As they approached the temple, Xander could not help but be taken in awe at the sight of the marvelous structure that lay before him. It was like an ancient temple straight out of a movie, and every bit of it was absolutely beautiful. The entrancing sound of rushing water from the river that flowed beneath the drawbridge tickled Xander's ears. Countless lanterns hung from the trees all around them, illuminating the night like great big fireflies scattered about the island. Xander found himself entirely charmed. "This... is literally the coolest thing I have ever seen in my life." he stated matter-of-factly. At that moment he had a sudden flashback of this one time when, during a filming, Zac Efron and his entourage had decided to pop into the set just to offer some 'friendly advice' to the aspiring group of actors, one of whom was Xander. "Okay, second coolest."

It was serenity overload. Xander took note of how as soon as you got out of earshot of the gentle trickling noises of the river, the distant sound of the ocean waves crashing upon the shores of Gyojo Island would immediately take over, and vice-versa. It seemed as though there was quite literally not a single place on the island you could go where you WOULDN'T be greeted by some form of tranquilizing natural splendor. "I'm in love."

Xander continued to take it all in and found himself being taken to a very interesting place in his mind...

"...for the first time in a long time... I actually think I feel at home.." ...he paused. "Nonono... none of that, Xander. Snap out of it!" he tried to shake off the fuzzy feeling he was experiencing by just being here. "You know perfectly damn well what happens every time you start to get comfortable anywhere.... you just remember your place. Remember who you are. You don't have a home. Your stay here will be just like everything else you've ever done.. a game. Nothing but a game. So play the game, and try to win. And after you've won, we're getting the hell out of here." he promised himself.. although he wasn't sure if he could keep that promise.

He sighed. Despite being incredibly impressed (and as much as he didn't want to admit it, excited) he was also super tired and couldn't wait to get to bed. He had also had enough of battling with himself for one day; it was time to turn off the internal dialogue for a while.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Elder struggled a bit, attempting with all his might to open the massive temple doors. Xander got nervous and wondered if he should help the poor guy, as it looked like he might fall over and die at any minute.

"That's a shitty thought."

"But it's funny, you gotta admit."

"It's a little funny."

"Seeing an old wobbly guy trying to move such a massive thing..."

Xander was abruptly drawn from his own musings by a deafening CRREEAAAK!, looking up to see as the doors revealed a most glorious and impressive sight. Xander had to fight the urge to let his mouth go agape; if he hadn't already felt like he was in some sort of movie or daydream, the sight of the temple's interior would have made it a done deal. The Elder led them through an incredibly spacious and roofless yard area that had lanterns and shrines all over, with pillared hallways lining each side of the location's perimeter leading into different areas of the temple.

"This is the courtyard, or Grand Vestibule, as it's sometimes called." The Elder spoke with a smile as he led them straight through into the temple's interior. "Let's go to the Meditation Room, it is where we'll gather together to clear our minds and discuss some important things when needed." The Elder, still acting fatherly towards everyone, said and lead the way through some big halls.

"Okay now," The Elder gained everyone's attention. "First, we will take you to your dorms. There, you can find your own rooms. Then have a good-night's sleep. Tomorrow, I will gather all of you here to take you on tour and begin your training. And don't worry, the dorms have been modernized and furnished to make it comfortable for you, but still keep its ancient-atmosphere" he said with a soft smile. "Steward, please take Aries, Sagittarius and Leo to the Fire Wing, Laffoue and I will take the rest to their dorms. Rest well, children."

"Wait whaaa?" There it was again; more references to Zodiac signs. Why were these people so obsessed with Astrology? Xander couldn't quite figure it out. "Man, I've met plenty of people obsessed with horoscopes before, but these guys take it to a new level.." he thought to himself as he wondered what possible relevance their zodiac signs could have to their dorm assignments, of all things.

"Children, won't you please come with me?" the elderly woman, Madame Laffoue as Xander believed she was called if he heard correctly, beckoned to himself and two others. "Oh boy! I get to dorm with hotness! Xander smirked as he glanced over at Luke.

Laffoue led the three of them through several rooms and hallways of the academy, proving to Xander that this place was far larger than he could have ever imagined. "Man, you'd never be able to judge just how massive this place is from the outside."

As she did so, she maintained the most peaceful and joyous smile Xander had ever seen. "People back in Cali don't look THAT happy even when they're getting promoted, or landing a part or something... and here's this lady, just taking a bunch of us stupid kids to their rooms, and she looks like she's reached Nirvana or something while doing it. What the actual hell." it baffled Xander. Everything about this place was just so different. The other kids weren't so different from himself.. yeah, they were all incredibly unique in very different ways, that much was clear to him. But they all had the same jaded quality, if that was even the right way to describe it. It was the kind of thing that comes from living in the 'real world', he guessed ...and so far, as far as Xander could see, all of the people that he's met from here, the island, were just completely one-hundred-percent different in their mannerisms and general attitude. They were so much more ...peaceful... he didn't know why, but he found it amazing. He watched with a mixture of fascination and admiration as Madame Laffoue continued to so-graciously move about the halls, like a delicate China-doll, with her smile of contentment.

Once they had reached the far northern side of the temple, they finally came to the end of the hallway where they approached a large (and I mean large) wooden door. It looked ancient.. like it was probably built in the middle ages or something. Xander wondered how such a delicate woman was going to manage an old massive wooden door like that. "How do these oldies even get around this place, with so many crazy big doors? he quickly hid a stupid smirk brought on by his own wise-assery. His jaw nearly dropped to the floor when he watched with disbelief as she extended her left hand, palm facing forward, and the door yielded to her mere presence, opening entirely on its own. "Oh..... well I guess there's that."

Behind the door was a small circular chamber with a staircase along the stone wall, nothing out of the ordinary...
until they stepped inside. "Oh... my.....God." Xander couldn't handle anymore surprises for one night. As he looked up, he saw that this room extended so far skyward, he couldn't even see the very top. The winding staircase just kept going up and up and up for the entire expanse of the room's height, eventually disappearing behind what he assumed was a veil of clouds which had to be at least a thousand feet up. "But.. how.. and, like, you don't actually expect us to climb this, do you??" Xander tried to question as politely as possible, but the huge level of concern that saturated his voice could not be concealed.

Madame Laffoue gave a tiny giggle. It was the most delicate giggle he'd ever heard. It made him giddy. "This woman is fabulous."

"No, my dear. I don't expect you to climb it. That would be unwarranted punishment." she never broke her smile.

"Well how then? Aren't our rooms up there?"

"Yes."

There was a long pause... Xander waited for her to chime in, but she never did. He had to fight the urge to make any form of comment or expression that might come off as rude in any way, which was a really hard thing to do given where he was from, and what he was used to. It hadn't even been a day since he was taken out of the hustle-and-bustle environment of his city home. Slowing down to the pace of these people was clearly going to take some time. He swallowed his aggravation and tried to remain patient with her.

As if reading his thoughts, she began to speak once more to answer his question.

"You three are very special. You are the Children of Air. Your peers will not be able to ascend this tower without your aid, unless they wish to make the long journey upward. That is not something myself or the Elder has ever done. I imagine it would likely take a year or more."

"A YEAR!?!?"

Laffoue nodded.

"So what then? How does being the 'Children of Air' let us get up there? We supposed to fly or something?"

"You three can use the power of wind to ascend this tower in a mere instant. Who would like to try?"

Xander allowed a brief moment of pause for one of the other two to speak up, but his tiredness was beginning to overwhelm him at this point, so he impatiently jumped in. "Whatever, I'll do it."

Laffoue's eyes squinted, as if pleased.

"You must concentrate... extend your hands. Stand on this symbol right here, and meditate on the wind." she pointed to a sigil of a cloud surrounded by a circle marked into the stone flooring. Xander moved to stand inside the circle and positioned himself on top of the cloud symbol. He did as she said, attempting to 'meditate on the wind', whatever the heck that meant; he just figured he would just try and get in touch with his spiritual side, and hopefully something might happen. That is what this was all about after all, wasn't it? He wasn't dumb, he could figure out that this whole place was all about the zen-master-Buddha-yoda-meditation-chi thing. So that's exactly the kind of stuff he thought about. That and wind. Windy things. Clouds and crap. Whatever.

He must have done something right, because it worked. He opened his eyes and looked down, realizing he was hovering a good 4-5 feet in the air on a cloud.. an actual cloud. A puffy little white mass of air. He couldn't help but laugh. He reached down and swiped his hand through it; it felt cool, a little damp, but otherwise it felt like nothing. Delicate trails of white swirled off from the bit where he had touched.

"This is just crazy!" he exclaimed, still laughing.

Laffoue seemed a little amused by Xander's reaction. "This will take you up to your dorms. I trust you three will find the way. You are Air, after all; smart and clever. It's quite spacious up there- lots to explore. The Elder has an early day planned for you tomorrow, so I would hold off on exploring until then, if I were you. Goodnight children. Be safe!" and with that, she vanished - yep, vanished - into thin air, disappearing in a trail of swirling mist.

"You guys need to try this." Xander looked over at Luke and the other girl as he tried to maintain his balance while floating on the cloud. He extended his hands on either side of himself to make it look like he was surfing. "Man.. this is real. This is really happening." he said in reference to all the wild things they had just witnessed; the door opening by itself, the cloud, the lady disappearing like magic. "I thought this stuff was just in the movies. But now... now, we're living it!"
