Appearance:Dean Swinton is a tall, thin man in his mid fifties. He is almost always seen smoking, usually a cigarrette, but on rare or special occasions, he's been known to smoke a pipe. He has brown hair and a light complexion. The constant smoking has made him look older than he is. His hair is starting to go grey in places and his face is wrinkled. He is always in a suit and tie, though he rarely wears a hat and never wears sunglasses. He often looks deep in thought, distant. He tries to keep a professional appearance about him at all times. Personality:Dean Swinton finds that the nature of his work makes it hard to become close to people. He chose a long time ago to only be close to a small group of people and to never trust them. He would trust only who he had to and at that, he would keep his suspicions. He has his own motives for doing things, even though is work is supposed to all be authorized and directly for the government. If they do something he doesn't like, he'll sneak around and find his own ways to, "fix it." To do that, he would choose people he saw something in and manipulate them to further his own agenda, whether they knew it or not.
He is a man of another era. He is from the central plains, USA, where times changed more slowly than other places. He was raised with the ideals of the 50's. He believes in patriotism and many of the values of the day. He loves his wife very much, though his work leaves him little time to see her for extended periods at times. He enjoys the simple things, like reading a newspaper or a good book or listening to classical music or the radio. He has an odd facination with numbes and uses them, or some of his favorites, to calm himself and help him think.
History:Dean Swinton grew up in a small city near farm country in the great planes. His father did honest office work and his mother mainly stayed at home and took care of the family. When he was young, he looked towards a career in law enforement, probably police work or in the sheriff's department. When he came closer to graduation, he began taking more of an interest in government work. He applied to different branches and was eventually, after much work and waiting, hired by the FBI, during his time with he got married to a local girl. He worked hard and showed his worth, eventually being taken special interest in by a special agent. Through time and hard work, he proved himself more than capable and trustworthy and was allowed in an elite inner circle. They don't work outside of government agencies, rather representatives from all of them and more. When he first started with this special interest group, he thought of it as patriotic work and, while he was picked in part because he could think for himself, he followed orders above all. Eventually, he became disillusioned and found that both their methods and intentions were not always in agreement with his own. He still gets some of the best results and when the incidents with Them started getting reported, he was placed as second in charge of operations. He is becoming worried that his superiors are beginning to suspect that he isn't as in line as they would like him to be and this may be a test of his loyalty, though he also realizes he may just be paranoid.
