POWERS Andromeda is a spectacle of intelligence and model child of the great goddess Athena. Almost. If only Athena were only the goddess of stratagems, Andy wouldn't be so plagued with failure. She seems to lack the physical abilities granted to the children of Athena, and no matter how hard she trains she is no match for other physically gifted demigods. There seems to have been a mistake when she was born or something, Andromeda can't figure it out, but she'll keep trying to live up to who she's supposed to be. Omnilingualism came naturally to her.
RELATIONSHIP WITH GODLY PARENT Andromeda holds a detached admiration for her mother. The word mother doesn't really seem to accurately sum up or signify their relationship however. It's not that Athena is a cruel parent by any means, less neglectful than others in truth, but still. Athena is a goddess, and has important goddess things to do. Andy doesn't bemoan this and understands that she's important to her mother, but only to a certain degree. What she feels keenly is the weight to be everything a daughter of Athena must be however, so little of the love and all of the expectation. Athena encourages this strive for greatness, and has been known to give her good advice.

STRENGTHS
XXXintelligence | The brightest in class. Andromeda's scores never fall below the 90 percentile and she's widely recognized as the one you want on your group project. She's also shrewd and detail oriented. Her mind is always working.
XXXkind | She's got an uncanny penchant for kindness, especially for those that seem to be having a hard time or need help. Andy is quick to lend a hand.
XXXquitter | Andy is not a quitter, ever. She will master or conquer that thing, whatever that thing is.

WEAKNESSES
XXXclueless | Very book smart this girl, just not very street smart. She's not a bumbling idiot but she's likely to make a fool or herself at one point or another.
XXXtrusting | She's gullible as all hell, and she should know better by now really. It's just that she wants to see the good in everyone and so automatically gives people the benefit of the doubt. It's in her nature to think the best of intentions from people.
XXXconfidence | Andy's lack of self confidence and perhaps self esteem hold her back a lot more than it should. She's worried about stepping on toes and looking like an idiot and being a know-it-all. And unfortunately those things happen with some frequency.

QUIRKS AND HABITS
XXXHabits | You can often find her assuming the position of the thinking man. Like so. Which is poor for the posture, and something she is definitely scolded for by her father, and on one occasion her mother embarrassingly enough. Still it remains a habit. She's a night owl and like most night owls does not relish mornings, she tends to sleep until the very last minute. Oh the teacher is asking the class what the answer is? Her hand is already up in the air. It's been up in the air the entire hour because she keeps asking so many god damn questions. Andromeda always has a book on her.
XXXQuirks | Likes to wear band tees and jeans, just doesn't dress very girly. Prefers loose clothing in general. Mascara and the very occasional eyeliner are about the only makeup she uses, has a very strict beauty mask and skin routine though. Has been wearing the same pair of boots for three years now, might be time for a new pair but she's in denial about it. She refuses to buy another book until she's read all of the ones she already has but her self control in that area is dubious. Honestly she would prefer a nice little café to a fancy restaurant and a cute cabin in the woods to a mansion.

PERSONALITY Andromeda likes to think she's a reasonable person, and she mostly is. She wonders if anyone is truly all the way reasonable, maybe Athena is. She's not wrathful and doesn't really hold grudges, she just never saw the sense in doing something like that. There is an exception to this rule, like there are for most rules, but so far only one. And that's only because the offense in mind touches so close and dear to her heart. Which may be why she's so quick and easy to forgive others, because she's detached from them. There's a distance between herself and everyone around her, she keeps her heart tucked away and no one is allowed near it. So any offense you've offered up doesn't easily touch her. As warm and friendly as her manners are she's oddly cold in that way. Given this trait it should come as no surprise that she leans towards the reserved and thoughtful, often spending too much time in her splendorous and colourful inner world. Friends never came easy to Andy, the secret of her heritage didn't help with the whole distance thing either, and she's left them all behind now. As shy with people as she is it wouldn't be wise to mistake her for a shrinking flower, she can be bold. In class and in anything she wants to do, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. She can be an obnoxiously squeaky wheel when she wants to be. Her goal now is to come into her own and see what being a Demigod means, what destiny might unfold, and just what is myth and what's real.

FAMILY TIES

HISTORY There was never any question that Andromeda was going to attend Theos Academy, her father saw it as only natural and she agreed. But that's not the only thing that drove her to leave home. Andy was always very close with her father, it was just the two of them. Doing her homework, going to museums, traveling, learning; especially learning. Her father would indulge her every question with scientific honesty, always explaining everything in a way that she could understand. Her father is a world history professor, and when she was sixteen he asked his girlfriend, Freda, to marry him, a former student of his. Andy didn't mind his girlfriends much, they were usually pretty nice, and on paper she was happy that her father was happy. Just because you're happy about something in principle though doesn't mean you're actually happy. Freda is a nice woman, and she didn't do anything to make Andy feel unwelcome, and in fact probably went out of her way to make things work. Maybe it's as simple as Andy just being jealous, but suddenly she didn't feel welcome in her own home. She felt like a stranger or guest in the midst of a happy couple's hospitality. Andy started becoming more withdrawn and quiet, no more questions and not much smiling. A depression of sorts. She wouldn't dare tell her father about it, how could she betray his happiness like that? So she just swallowed her tongue and did her best to make herself scarce. Always staying polite though, always behaving in a way that technically couldn't be reproached. A behavioral pattern which made it severely difficult for her father to address the problem, because whenever he tried to bring it up it would always just turn into apologies and beating around the bush between them. And then Freda became pregnant. Andromeda felt her world ending when she learned this, and felt even more like an intruder. She'd never cried so hard in her life, all away from the eyes or ears of the happy couple of course. Andy, with the help of Athena, insisted she go to Theos that very same day. It was the only time she had seen her mother and father fight or act in general like a couple, even if they clearly weren't together anymore. Athena naturally won out, and Andy has been at Theos ever since.
