Serina nodded as Kyle informed her of his thoughts, not that she really needed to know verbally, but it was a briefly comforting thought to feel even the slightest bit normal. "Hi Serina. My name is Kyle. But I prefer Ky. I'm not sure about a plan. Stay alive I guess. If anything happens, stay behind me. I will protect you" Serina fell in behind him, willing to do anything to stay out of harm's way. Heaven forbid she die just because she didn't have such strong powers as all the others. She peered around Kyle at the bloodied sight ahead of them. The wolf had torn into the guards and the sight was enough to bring a fresh batch of nausea swinging right into Serina's stomach. She raised her hand to her mouth and unconsciously grabbed Kyle's hand. The strange girl who had been silent til now let out a sound so loud that it made Serina's head pound. Although, she knew she was just picking up on the pain from all the killing around her. She tried to keep the feelings boxed in lest she transmit the feeling to someone nearby. Serina's eyes watered with the struggle but Kyle looked worser off. She felt him tire and stepped in front of him hoping that her passive power would work.
The guard paused amidst all the bloodshed and killing.
'Stop. Don't move. Why bother moving when all your friends, your coworkers, and your bosses are all dead? Don't I want to leave? If I don't leave, the killing won't stop. It will go all the way back to where your wife, and your one son are sleeping at home. I will lose them too. The mutants won't be happy if I try and hurt them.' The guard started to struggle against her persuasion but she persisted, squinting in effort.
'They might be pleased only if I die. I need to die. There is nothing left. No one will miss me.' Her voice had taken on his own and now she could feel his brainwaves shift, just slightly.
'Yes, its now or never. Maybe I should just take my life, rather than die at the hands of a defiled mutant. Yes, that's right. I should take my gun and do it. I won't let them have the final say on my life.' By this point, the guard raised his pistol and pointed it at his forehead. Serina staggered forward and lightly touched his arm.
'Goodbye.' She felt the brief flicker of pain before sleep began to tug at her conscious. It was as if everything slowed down to a point, teetering on the edge of an abyss so deep that there would be no coming back. She ripped her hand off of the guard and frowned, staring down at his limp body beneath her. In all, the exchange had taken only a few seconds.
Serina looked over her shoulder to Kyle with a painful smile. However, it was quickly interrupted as a sharp thought came across clearly through the din of pain, fear, and anger. "Someone is nearby. They can't get out and someone is stopping them." Serina turned and ran past a guard being beaten back by some cages and slipped out into the halls. She continued to run, blinded by her emotions and powers, until she reached a door. A keypad sat beside the door and Serina stared at it. "I need a passcode." Serina reached for the keypad, extending her powers to any person nearby and ignored the ones inside the room. Several guards were thinking about the mutants and thoughts swirled around in a pool of knowledge but it wasn't what she needed. The white-haired girl reached for any deeper thoughts and sent out a mass message with a few words attached,
'passcode, sliding door' Serveral key codes appeared instantly and Serina tried them all until a five digit code finally registered. The doors opened up to reveal two figures struggling. The lights in the room blinded Serina but she ran in and pushed the two figures hoping that one would give way to her feeble attempt to separate them. "We need to go!" She screeched, her scratchy unused voice almost too soft for any real scream but it was enough she supposed. As there eyes adjusted to the light she saw the female who she had heard before and a strange male who felt...off. She squared off against the male and raised her fists. "Leave her alone." She felt the tremble go through her short body but at least she had some courage left. She directed her thoughts to the female.
'All of the mutants are escaping. I heard you before but I can't fight too well...I hope you know how to run. The door probably won't stay open for too much longer.'
