Personality
Annie is an incredibly passive, and shy girl. At first, she's rather easy to frighten and gets nervous rather easily. She seems a little insecure, often times looking down rather than making eye contact and keeping her head low as though she doesn't want to be noticed. But when people do take the time to give her their attention, they would see that she is a bright ray of sunshine. She loves to make people smile, and have fun.
She's rather quick to trust, and believes that everyone has a heart of gold. Some people just have a hard time showing it. She is gentle, and careful not to push people to hard to get them to show them their good side. She seems to have endless patience, which makes her very good with kids. No matter how many times you yell at her or shove her away, she will always be there with open arms. She's quick to smile or laugh, and she's always looking to make others happy. Even if it is at her down downfall. She is very selfless, always putting others' needs before her own. Sometimes she is always thinking about everyone else, and leaves herself behind. Rose has a bad habit of neglecting herself. She won't stand up for herself, either. She will let people walk all over her or slander her name and won't lift a finger in retaliation.
Annie is very sweet, and remember little things like someone's favourite colour, or their birthday. She is the kind of person that you would call in tears, and talk to all night long. She is accepting, and would never judge anyone. She is very gentle and tender. The group she was with before she was caught often referred to her as the 'den mother'. She is very maternal, and is very accepting towards everyone. Rose loves affection, and is definitely the person to come to if you needed a hug or just some comfort.
Bell is also very intelligent. She has gone through a few boyfriends quite quickly when she was younger, because they can't keep up with her intellectually and she gets bored. She loves a good challenge. She loves figuring people out. Seeing how deep they go, why they act the way they do, their hidden motivations, get past all of their layers. And when people just melt under her touch instantly, as they so often do, she gets bored. She needs someone intellectual, like her, who will play around with her and drive her crazy.
She loves to read and watch movies. Mostly fine literature, but she'll spend all day with a cup of tea and any book she can get her hands on. She loves puzzles, and learning new things. When she's particularly bored, she'll pick out a new instrument and learn it in under an hour
History
Bell was born in a small town in Ireland. Her mother died in childbirth. Her father was once a very kindhearted man, but part of him couldn't help but blame Annie for his beloved wife's death. He tried to be kind to her, but never really showed her the loved she so needed as she grew up. He was very rich, and when she was five she moved to a massive home just south of London. Bell let out all of her frustrations through dance. She danced for hours every day, and quickly twirled her way to the top of her class. She tried so hard to be good enough to get her father's attention. He would go to her shows, and take her to her auditions. He tried, he really did. But part of him always had that resentment towards her. She blamed herself for her mother's death a little, too. It was hard not to. It was difficult growing up essentially with no parents.
When Annie turned eighteen, she auditioned for one of the most prestigious dance companies in the U.S. She got in, and left her father in Great Britain. She settled into New York, and worked her hardest to go up in the rankings. Within a few years, she was Prima Ballerina at her company. A year after that, she was ranked one of the best ballerinas in America. She trained every day, and really worked to keep her title. She was the star of countless dances. She was in her prime when she met Seth.
He was the conductor of her dance company's pit orchestra. He was stunningly handsome, and intelligent enough to keep her fascinated. At first, their relationship was great. He was tender, thoughtful, and really seemed like he loved her. They were the power couple of the dance world. She fell in love with him. He really seemed to love her in return.
Their relationship seemed to be perfect for a while. They moved in together, and he proposed. She happily accepted. But soon after... everything changed. She accidently broke a glass, and he turned on her. He backhanded her, and ferociously yelled at her. Things got worse from there. He would beat her for the slightest mistake, or even for things that weren't her fault at all. But perhaps the worst part of it all was that she didn't stay with him because she was afraid. She loved him. he hurt her and hurt her, but she still loved him. Nothing could change that.
One month before their planned wedding, Bell was diagnosed with lung cancer. It was very aggressive, and within a week couldn't go anywhere without an oxygen tank. She could barely walk, let alone dance. She lost her place at the dance company, and Seth left her. She had nothing.
