a character in “Thorns Within the Rose”, originally authored by Sonicx00, as played by RolePlayGateway

Description

Anastasia Zima
Captain Of The Lord's Royal Army

Image
Age Appearing age may seem mid 20s-30s but actual age is unknown
Gender:Female
Description: Truly a undead/demon of darkness, Her eyes are usually snow white but when in battle like some of her other gear - especially when preforming some of her death magic/abilities her eyes glow blue as does some of her other gear. She stands about 5'5 other then such her picture explains the rest.

-Personality-
While committing this act she holds for the royal family - She acts as if she is Loyal, Honest, and trustworthy but truthfully she is quite cold, witty, intelligent, and independent. To this royal family she could be seen as a betrayer, deceitful and vile. She doesn't mind using ancient death and lich magic when in battle and often prefers to use such things when fighting. In addition to such spells and abilities she is a master swordsman, possibly the best in the land. She's enjoys inflicting punishment and she is not one to let anyone stand in the way of her goal. She has heard of the ancient demon who lurks the walls of the castle and is open to believe it - claiming it may benefit her if it is true but that doesn't mean they will be full partners especially if motives conflict.

-Background-

"Resurrection Of Winter"

At least thats what stories used to call her which is what her name means. Anastasia was actually once human long ago but the evil and corruption of death magic kept her going especially after being slain for being a dark sorceress of the snow. Her hatred for mankind grew while she slept and had it not been for her savage deity of Ice and Death, Oshiva, she would have permanently been slain. The reason she is called the resurrection of winter is because she had been revived on the first day of winter and gained the name through slaying and murdering others in the name of "winter" or so she says. Which is why she naturally yells or whispers "In the name of winter" when she is in battle or when she is going to kill someone.

What brought Anastasia to Korratoth was the kingdom itself, she herself felt it would be well if she were to have a kingdom that was in the presence of winter. Those among it would become her servants of death through death but as she entered the ranks secretly and increased her status, Anastasia found something else out among the history of the land but refuses to speak of it seeing it may benefit her. She does have other motives then this but she decides to hide it until the time is right.

So begins...

It was on this night when the Dark Knight and Royal Captain stood restlessly as always stood upon the highest tower of the castle listening to the wind blow. It whistled into her ear as it blew across her face. Her silky black hair blew slightly in front of her face but she didn't change her posture as she was lost in thought. As the wind blew her black cape flown with it making a shadow expand behind her. Her cold gauntlets stayed perched upon her claymore and as she stood she could feel the temperature around her colder then being outside on a winter's night but that was just her aura when she's upon this giant pillar, no one is present and doesn't have to suppress it. Anastasia's eyes stared off as she noticed the sun rising for morn. Her glowing blue eyes turned normal white as the sun revealed them under her hood. They blinked once and before she sheathed the blade behind her and turned to descend down the tower.

As Anastasia stepped down the pillar's stairs, her greaves echo'd against the wall and her eyes had glowed blue once more as she made it down the dark stair case. Her mindset was definitely serious and in thought. Constantly through the night she had heard Oshiva's voice speak among her but in a dark and terrible chant. A chant that Anastasia followed but was annoyed. She herself knew why. There was one reason alone that she heard her voice and that was through the pact. Oshiva had been reminding her what her purpose was and what her goal was aside from her own desires. As a main disciple this was definitely something she followed. That may seem like that was all but the banshee didn't stop there in thought. She felt a presence among them and was desirable in hope to know what it was. Perhaps the demon she has heard of - if not something had to be done so her plans wouldn't be soiled. Anastasia gave a grim smile as she made it down to the last step and into the halls of the castle.

She passed the dungeon's staircase making her way to the throne room to greet her lord. Her white eyes moved down the case with a smile as she passed it. After such she walked through the garden compressing her power to not freeze the plants and not far from the garden was her barracks for the Royal Guards. She never bothered greeting them other then walking over and slamming the door open hard enough to wake them before continuing onto the throne room. Finally she made it to the royal quarters. She didn't bother saying hello to anyone she passed - even if some who brought the courage up to say "Good Morrow/Morn/ Hi" to her. They just never mattered much at the time. Finally she arrived at the giant heavy door of the royal thrones. She immediately walked in without shutting the door and leaned against the wall in a corner awaiting anyone who approached mainly the king.

Leon shifted in his Throne, staring out at the trio with a frown. "I see, Anastasia, was it? I'm not giving any one of you the job of protecting me, but all three of you shall do so. I expect the three of you to maintain your selves fairly well in this task. Just remember that the kingdom takes priority over my life, as does the life of my heir." He tapped his foot, folding the report. "You three are dismissed, for now"

___

Daniel bowed his head to Leon as a small rune appeared on his hand. the spell flared quietly and disappeared. It appeared against the back of the girl he had seen earlier, fading from sight. Later, my beauty, when the kingdom can wait... He put his scythe in a holster, strapping it onto his back. "Dorian, let's be gone. you too, Miss." He turned and started out of the throne room, his own hands curling into fists.

___

Dorian grinned at the girl once his back was turned. she had a decent way about her, the way she walked. probably a good opponent. Se needs a sword, but she seems to know how to use it. the way her hands rasp inside her gloves, calluses... so she trains with it. this is a good sign. sparring... I could see it in our future He cracked his knuckles and started to follow Daniel. "Won't you join us, Anastasia?"

Leon's head was rocking slightly, his eyes partially shut. he had heard every word his heir spoke; though it sounded far off; distorted by the sleep that called to him. Had he been in any other state of mind, Leon would have said some kind, comforting word to his heir and sent her on her way, but the need of sleep had dulled his senses and judgement. "Do as you wish, My Heir, but hurry back." Somewhere far off, he heard the man from earlier, Daniel, flirting with a girl. Let them have their fun; they deserve it He stood and nodded to his heir before waving her off. He didn't have any other scheduled meetings, but still felt he should take his seat. "Oh, and while you're down there, can you tell the men on duty to bring up that one prisoner? the one not connected to the royal family" he had to ask the man a few questions, and possibly answer a few.
___

Daniel watched the girl fade off unto dreamland, drifting away from their conversation. she brightened when he mentioned magic, then quickly explained the 'magic' she had once observed "those are simple parlor tricks, miss Paige. real magic is strong and powerful, pure energy of nature and the arcane" He raised two fingers, sending a crackle of blue lightning across them. "would you like to see some real magic, Miss Paige?"

Anastasia

Anastasia shook her head.

"I can not waste time clashing blades with you - There is much more to be done with the Royal Army - In addition I have quite a force to lead...No time for games." She walked down the steps and towards the exit of the hall. The dark knight's cape flowed heavily behind her as she grew silent. She suddenly stopped in the middle before slightly turning her head in thought. She studied the two for a moment before speaking gently.

"I suggest you prepare youself..." She spoke to all three of them when she said that discreatly saying it because of the "other demon" but mainly of herself. Once she turned her head a dark grin grew, her movement once she started walking was confident. She grasped the handle when arriving at the door slightly freezing at as she pulled it open. The banshee was eager, excited yet patient. She had the chance to seal off the room in ice so thick no one could get out and a eternal freeze would await but there is too much unknown about the two captain of the guards to her and as usual Anastasia remains wise and studious to the situations.

Dorian approached the woman with the claymore from behind. she seemed interesting, so he felt he should test her strength. she did smell like magic, which interested him a little. he had never been one for the arcane arts; men should fight with their fists, because a real man belongs in the fight to begin with. His knuckles were already crackled, and he set a heavy hand on her shoulder "We all wish to do it, you know. Be smart about this; even the strongest armies need allies." He grinned with a grin of blood lust. "even I appreciate sharpness of wit in battle. stupidity will only get you killed"

^_^_^

Daniel finished his performance, bowing to her. The birds faded, and the flowers began to loose her luster; all but a single lily that he plucked. He held out the long-stemmed, white flower and tucked it into her hair. He smiled "you deserve something as lovely as you, Madame Paige." He held out a hand with a charming smile, both of his hands still glowing with residual energy like a recently turned off lightbulb
