The small town of Edenbrook

Modikai hopped down from his grasp and she looked at him. "Are you sure it isn't in any pockets? Did you drop it on the way here? Look around," she said, as she held out her hands and began patting Kodaka everywhere to see if it was anywhere. "Ugh. You're such a klutz, you know. So oblivious to your surroundings. What color was the key?" She asked, as she looked in the pockets of Kodaka's trench coat.

Her facial features got serious. "We need to find that thing and fast before it ends up getting in the wrong hands."

Kodaka couldn't agree more. Kodaka rechecked his pockets and neck but felt nothing. "I could have sworn I-" Then he remembered. That wave of fear and coldness that swept through him the minute Lucifer vanished. It was only for an instant but he felt something- or someone behind him back at the house. Could Lucifer had really taken it the instant he disappeared? Impossible. How?

Pain.... A sharp pain burst in his head. It felt as if his head was being torn from his body. Kodak fell on the ground and began writhing on the floor screaming in intense pain. A voice reverberated through his head. "Thank you my demon friend. You have served your new master well. Even though you had not given it to me personally, you brought the key so that it was finally in my reach. It was like taking candy from a baby!"

"NO!!!! HOW!!!???" "Shhhhh... No need for that boy, you're hurting my ears. No if you'll excuse me, I must now deal with the problem of finding those damnned eyes the old man hid from me. Thank you again!"

A bloodcurdling laugh echoed in Kodaka conciousness. How could he had let his guard down like that. He was supposed to protect that key with his life and now it was gone. What was he going to do now? The pain subsided but Kodaka lay there stunned, unable to move. The angels would probably think he sided with Lucifer all along and just gave him the keys. They would never let them live. He had to find those eyes before Lucifer.

L'Arc watched as Akira took to the sky and noticed the two angels across the street talking with one another. He heard from a faint distance a calling out, fear or pain, but he was not sure which. He decided to wait at Akira's house though for the man to return. When he did then he would learn everything of his brother's plans and hopefully they would have enough time to stop Lucifer before Earth became the new hell.

"We can go to my house... or to a nearby cafe," Noel stated, standing up and offering his hand to Anya. "This way you can talk to me, or rant, or complain. I'll listen, I'm here for you..." he added. Waiting for her reply.

She took his hand standing up. "thanks a cafe would be nice a drink sounds good at the moment." She smiled "and i dont need to rant just need distraction from all this trouble." She sighed "i knew that one day everything would catch up with me but i never guessed it would be here." She looked noel in the eyes and laughed softly. "and i thought you didnt want anything to do with me especially when you would not show me around campus....." her voice faded off for a moment when she saw Akira take off into the night. She wished she could take off after him and maybe he could explain everything and she could understand why he lied but part of her didnt want to leave the ground...

Modikai flinched when Kodaka began screaming and writhing. A wave of fear swam over her like a tsunami, and she collapsed to her knees next to him and shook him. "Kodaka! Are you okay? What happened!" Modikai struggled to pull the male upright to a sitting position as she put his arm around his back to keep him in that position as she tried her best to comfort him.

"Did someone talk to you through your mind?"

Kodaka shook his head and sat up. His head pounded with pain but at least he could think straight again. "I know what happened to the key." Kodaka looked straight into Modikai's multicolored eyes. "Satan has them and he's on his way to find the eyes! That bastard. We need to find him before-!" Kodaka tried to get up but his body went completely limp and the world went black. 'Crap, not again.'


Akira Shigemori

Of all places Akira could go, why did he end up here? Maybe it was something L'Arc said to him earlier but he didn't know. Akira's wings folded back into his back as he looked up at the looming building in front of him. A church. How ironic. Akira faced the large doors and pulled. Of course it was locked. Closing his eyes, he brought his finger up and a small stream of light formed at the end of his outstretched finger. Akira inserted the light beam into the keyhole and the lock melted instantly. That was fixable. The humans would have no trouble with that. The door swung open and the half angel, half demon, stepped inside.

The place was enormus. Who would have thought that a small town like Edenbrook would have such a large, ornate church. It was almost like a cathedral. Murals of different bible characters lined the ceiling and the windows were decorated and various colors. The carpet in the lobby was a deep red and the doors to the main sancutary were wide open, beckoning Akira to step inside. The sanctuary floor was of a fine hardwood and even more murals and paintings were on the walls and windows. In the center was a large altar and a cross with the figure of Jesus loomed back. Akira was in awe. He had never been in a church before and his steps echoed all around him as he made his way down the center aisle. He didn't know what it was but he felt a beckoning presence telling him to come closer. What was it?

Modikai was frustrated. Frustrated as you could possibly get, the way things are going. She bared her teeth as she grabbed Kodaka's shoulders, and looked both ways to think of where to go. "Eyes," she murmured. Nearly digging her nails into the boy's shoulders, she began dragging them both off to that old man's house, the Yamamoto guy. She wanted to speak to him, but when she got there, she sat down completely exhausted. God. Kodaka was heavy compared to Modikai: she was nearly a little stick.

She sighed and caressed the boy's cheeks with her soft hands. "Wake up," she groaned, rather annoyed. "I'm going to talk to Yamamoto, and I want you to be awake," she said, clearly agitated as she set him down and pinned him to the ground and yelled in his face.

"GET UP YOU RETARD!!"

Noel shrugged his shoulders slightly. "Sorry about that," he glanced off in the direction she was staring and sighed. "I had a lot on my mind then, with all the new orders. I was also a little frightened that another fallen angel was coming to the area." He stated, his blue eyes staring at her for a moment and then turning away as he lead the way toward the cafe.

She followed next to him and smiled. "well i can say this i may have been cursed to earth but it was over something extremely stupid" she laughed "im not evil nore with i purposely hurt you"

Kodaka Kurenai

"GET UP YOU RETARD!!" Modikai? Her voice was so faint that Kodaka could barely hear it. As the boy came back to conciousness Kodaka opened his eyes slowly and saw the girl's face right over his. "Wha?? Modikai? Where are we?" That experience with Satan was that bad, huh? The place looked famliar and Kodaka remembered that he had been here once before.

"Don't be slackin' off when we have eyes to find," she scolded, hovering over him while pinning him to the ground and yelling in his face. "Before some specific idiot finds it and then shit gets deep. If you don't focus, I'll look for them myself, but first I'll sit on you. Cooperate," she said, and plopped down right on his chest, sitting there with her legs criss-cross-apple-sauce with her arms crossed while sternly staring him in the eye.

"I know you couldn't help it before, but atleast fight it a bit, you dope," she muttered.

Kodaka looked away from Modikai's multicolored stare. He felt like he had just let everyone down and he should just go die. How could he be that stupid? Kodaka clenched his fist and slammed it down on the ground hard. "I can't do this anymore. It's impossible. Let the angels take care of this, I'm no good. As soon as we find that old man, I'm giving him back this damn sword!"

Modikai nearly had a heart attack, and she flinched back, surprised and shocked at his reaction. Her bangs covered her eyes, and she rose her hand to slap him in the face.

"Do you think you can go back now? That's an act of a coward! You're a demon now and you can't go back on this." Rage filled her eyes. "If he gets those eyes," he said. "expect us to be dead, wasted, and in hell! Then, we won't be living together anymore!" She yelled, cupping his cheeks with her hands as she used her strength to force him to look at her. She soon let go and just put her hands on her lap, her upper body tilted a bit so she could clearly see Kodaka's face.

"You will not give back the sword. Got that?" She demanded, her crazy eyes blazing. Tears trailed from her eyes and onto his face and chest. " 'Cause I don't want to die. I want to live first, a normal life, despite that fact that I'm a demon. We're both young. We can't die yet, we have one life to live and we might aswell live it now."

Kodaka was glad she said that. He was just feeling sorry for himself. Stupid. Kodaka smiled weakly and brought his hand up and wiped her tears from her face. "Sorry. I just was feeling down cause I made a mistake. I'm ok now. I won't lose you that easily. Just quiet down. You're hurting my ears." Kodaka joked sarcasticly. Kodaka brought his head up and kissed the demon girl on the forehead. "C'mon, lets go find ol' man Senri." He knew what he had to do.

Modikai nodded and smiled, hopping off of him and extending her hand to help him up. "Good. There's the Kodaka I know."

After hours of waiting at the house, L'Arc became impatient. The boy should have returned now, but it seemed that he might have just run off. Don't worry, he's finding peace... his inner voice came to his head in a moment. L'Arc just shook his head and started out the door and down the street. It was almost half and hour of a walk before he stumbled upon an old beautiful church. It's ebony color clashing against the nice blue skies, and the stain glass gleaming in rejoice of the lord. He noticed immediately that the door looked like forced entry, by melting of some sort.

He stepped into the door way and spotted Akira a ways before him halfway through the church. "Breaking into a church won't find you redemption, my boy." L'Arc called out after him.

Noel glanced over at her. "Why were you kicked out of heaven, Anya?" Noel asked, not sure what to think about her saying she hurt him. Or was she meaning that he hurt her. Either way, he was curious to know what sin she must have committed for the Great Lord to banish her down among demons and humans. He had known his punishment, but it was a long story, one that he had almost forgotten until he saw her that day on school grounds.

((I am sorry but in my last post i made a typo and didnt catch it the typo said "i would More would i hurt you" what i ment was " i would not hurt you" sorry for the confusion))

She looked at him. "its not a very good story neither is it very interesting just a disagreement and when your father is a arch angel well your not aloud to disagree.." She looked away. "so you shouldnt worry about it ok" she smiled softly hoping he would drop it but was pretty sure he wouldnt.

Akira turned slowly and recognized L'Arc in the dim light. He looked up at the crucible in a daze. "I don't know. Something just..... called me here." It was true. The beckoning presence still hadn't left. What did it want? Akira reached out and his fingers grazed the wood of the cross just under the feet of Jesus. Before he knew it, there was some sort of electrical jolt that ran through his body and the boy was instantly flung backwards a couple of feet onto the floor. "Gah! What the-?..." A blinding light burst from the ceiling and the whole santcuary was instantly illuminated. Akira covered his eyes with his arm and tried to see what had happened. His eyes adjusted and it seemed as if a beam of light was shining down through the roof onto the floor in front of the cross. Akira rose to his feet and for some odd reason, his wings were suddenly forced out of his back. What was this? Wait..... Who is that? After a few seconds, a figure began to appear in the light. Akira stepped closer. The blinding light hurt. It felt like it would burn the skin right off him but at the same time the light was warm and comforting. Then he saw it. A girl? The light dimmed a bit and Akira could finally see who it was. A girl-no, a woman- stood there in the shaft of light. She appeared to be in her mid twenties but her ocean blue eyes had that wise look of someone who had lived for an eternity. Her bright, golden blond hair ran all the way down to her ankles and her face was that of a proud queen. Delicate, but it had the look of someone who demanded respect. She wore a simple robe of pure white and she had no shoes on her feet. A bright white halo hovered in midair above her head and the instant Akira saw her, he knew she was an angel of God. He had never seen one quite like this before. The sight stunned him and his knees went weak. The girl's gaze met his and Akira felt like she was staring right into the dark depths of his soul. It was frightening. Finally, the angel opened her mouth, "Do not be afraid."

Kodaka took the girl's hand and got to his feet. It was time to clean up his own mess. He would find those damnned eyes before Lucifer. But where to begin. Modikai was right. They had to find Senri, but where was he? Kodaka looked at the house and was instantly confused. "Didn't I blow a hole throught the roof the day I got this sword?" The house had been almost completely burnt by his blue flames but now the house was comepletely restored as if nothing happened.

Modikai looked up, and cocked her head to the side. "Ummm. Maybe builders built it super speed?" She suggested, which was probably a stupid idea.

"You disagreed with your father?" Noel gave her a strange look before telling the cafe host that there would be two for a window seat. She took them back, her eyes scanning him over and then giving Anya a nasty look. He did not pay her much mind though, it was often he had those looks of lust, when he would rather be by himself. It was nice for once to have someone with him though, he had to admit that. He pulled the seat out for Anya before sitting down himself and then watched her carefully. "What could you have disagreed with your father about to actually fall from Heaven. I've heard sons and daughter fight with their parents all the time, even Arch angels." He stated.

L'Arc decided that he didn't want to bother the woman and Akira. Perhaps God was trying to talk to him, tell him what path he was suppose to take. Either that, or she was here to kill him, like most of the angel's have been sent to do. He was the anti-Christ after all, so why hadn't L'Arc back-stabbed him yet. It was as if his whole plan had been erased. Deciding to listen in on the two, he sat down on one of the benches, watching the angel and Akira very closely

Anya sat down and looked at him. She sighed softly before speaking. "well there was a little girl who was getting attacked and tormented at night by demons and i asked my father if i could help her she was an innocent soul and he told me not to but, i went and did it anyway and well he yelled i yelled back he yelled again and stuck my wing as a warning. I told him i hated him and that for being an angel his heart was colder then ice and bam! down to earth i go" She sighed, "not a very interesting story but hell, its not much of a story is it." She looked at him in the eyes.

Akira was afraid. Was this angel here to kill him? He backed away a few steps. "W-who are you?" Akira's voice came out in a soft, frightful whisper. The angel bowed her head and took a deep breath. Two extremely large pure white wings unfolded from her back slowly and she raised her head to look at him again. "I am the angel Gabriel. Messenger of the most Holy One." Gabriel. He had only heard of her from the bible but Akira never thought he would meet her in person. "But.... Why are you here?" The angel smiled but didn't answer his question. The angel turned to L'Arc. "My my, if it isn't the Angel of Death? How have you been L'Arc? I'm hurt that you didn't recognize me. Why are you following the Son of Satan? He means no harm."

"I don't know, but I think we should be careful. I've got a bad feeling about this." Kodaka eyed the house suspiciously. Motioning Modikai to follow him, Kodaka walked up the stairs to the front porch and laid his hand on the door knob. Maybe I should knock and see if there is anyone home before I go bardging in. Kodaka knocked twice and waited.

Noel's blank blue eyes stared at Anya the entire time she spoke. He took in each word as if it were all that was left to think about before shaking his head no. "It is terrible that a kind heart, such as yourself, as banished to Earth for such a harmless deed. Your father, as an angel of the lord, should have appreciated that his daughter wanted to bring peace to the world his master created, but instead he frowned upon you for wanting to do the right thing." Noel shook his head again. "I'm sorry to say that I agree with you, and not your father."

"My apologies," L'Arc smirked slightly. "I did not mean to offend you with my memory." He took in a deep breath and moved a bit so that he was closer to the two. "I was sent here to deal with him, and stop his father's plans by destroying him, but it seems that his change of heart has changed my orders." L'Arc stated, thinking about the voice that he had heard only moments before realizing who the angel before them was. "It seems that his father has changed plans, and this boy is all that we have to stopping him. So I'm here to help him, which is why I stalk his shadow. It is a very unusual job to ask of me, but I am at the most powerful when it comes to brute force. And my hatred for his father will come in handy as well."
