Lyra Dannavar
"The Hypocritical Slayer"
Full Name: Lyra Cozetris Dannavar
Age: Somewhere along the lines of 530. She was born in the Late Middle Ages, died in the Early Modern Period just as witch hunting was becoming fashionable.
Race: Ex-human. Undead, not quite as decaying as most zombies, but not as skeletal as most skeletons. Preserved in an almost human looking state, albeit missing flesh around the joints and more anorexic than Paris Hilton in a bad month.
Personality: Sarcastic, snarky and generally in good humour. She seldom takes a lot seriously, given that she is obscenely hard to kill, and has even let her vocation of slaying fall into the background of just enjoying unlife. Lyra tends to form few close relationships with mortals, as watching them die isn't really very fun, but she has acquired a few acquaintances in the form of Fletcher Godeaux, Doryn Soulscar and, briefly, Liesha Kennicot - though none of the above are really friends as such.
History: In brief, Lyra was a slayer for the majority of her life, hunting down supernatural monsters and stabbing them repeatedly with various sticks and swords, or throwing oddly random substances over them that provided an inexplicable weakness. Her slaying days were brought to an end when a particularly nasty necromancer put a dagger in her back, and brought her back to life as one of his servants. Thus a small chapter of her unlife was as this man's slave, killing innocents and pillaging - until the day the necromancer, after repeatedly failing to achieve immortality through his magic, died, freeing her and the other undead. Being only recently dead, Lyra still retained her personality and sense of being, and so was able to take it upon herself to use her new found immortality and near immunity to further death to further the cause of slaying, while artfully avoiding other living slayers. After a time, supernatural encounters became less common, and so Lyra has slowly slotted into the modern world as it developed around her.
