a character in “Time Keepers”, originally authored by Forensic_Anthro, as played by RolePlayGateway

Description

Name
Alchemy Smith

Nickname
Aly

Gender
Female

Age
19

Job
Death Clock

Power and Condition
Alchemy's powers are basically a pun on her name. She can transmute materials into another shape or form. Of course, she can only transmute things using the materials currently present in the object. She has to follow the rule that matter is neither created nor lost, but is only changed. She cannot create gold from lead or diamonds from dust, of course, since her powers rely partially on her own mental strength. Thus, if she is upset or overly emotional in the least, she cannot use her ability. Also, she has to know exactly what something is made up of before she can alchemize it.

Appearance
Alchemy stands at 5'3" and weighs approximately 103 pounds. She has layered dark blue hair, the longest strands of it reaching just past her shoulders, with lighter highlights. Her eyes are a light aquamarine, but they can appear dark, given the appropriate conditions. Clothing-wise, she is usually seen wearing vests or tank tops, jean skirts, and tights as well as a pair of black sneakers. She often braids small sections of her hair to keep it out of her face, but ties in ribbons to create more decorative appeal. When she isn't working, Alchemy is usually seen carrying around the black case that carries her guitar. She has affectionately come to call her instrument "Daemonion Khemia," which could be roughly translated from Greek to mean 'Demon Alchemist.' The name is a sort of joke that Alchemy came up with, stating that she and her guitar are the same.

Personality
Alchemy is a fairly quiet girl most of the time. She generally lets her mind wander until something happens that she needs to be aware of. Her mind tends to wander more when she gets worried, and especially when a Time Keeper is killed. Although she tends to be quiet, when she has something to say, Alchemy will say it. Even though her job is killing people, Alchemy loves it. That may sound twisted, but she knows that each death leaves room for a new life to make it's way into the world. That said, Alchemy is very passive. She doesn't like aggression, especially arguing, and has been known to get upset and/or run away when someone yells at her.

Biography
Alchemy grew up in a fairly normal household. Her brother and sister were seven and eight years older than her, meaning that she was the one who got all the hand-me-down clothing. That didn't change after her siblings moved out when she was sixteen. What did change was the fact that Alchemy could no longer have her siblings help her come up with excuses as to why she often seemed to disappear for hours on end every day. Of course, after a couple months of her parents persistently asking and never getting an answer, they finally shut up about it; especially after they realized that even locking her in her room for a day didn't keep her there for long. Sometime when she was eighteen, Alchemy's parents were involved in a car crash and once they arrived at the hospital, Alchemy's pager beeped. It cheerfully informed her that they were her responsibility to claim. Not wanting to suffer the consequences of not following orders, Alchemy did as she was told. Now she lives alone in the house.

Other
Alchemy loathes her name and will introduce herself as "Aly." People often do not know her true name until they either see her ID or look her up online.
While she is waiting for a job, Alchemy is often found around town playing her guitar for tips.

Alchemy grinned cheerfully as someone tossed a five into the guitar case by her feet. The moment she was finished with her song, the blue-haired girl delicately knelt down and scooped up the money so that she could replace the various bills and coins, which had been tirelessly earned, with her guitar. Smiling affectionately at the instrument, she ran a hand lightly over the turquoise wood surface. "Sleep well, my dear Daemonion Khemia."

Zipping the black case shut, Alchemy stood up and clutched the handle of the black case tightly as she began the short trek from the coffee shop back to her house. Glancing at her watch, she sighed; it was later than she thought. Of course, she had missed her 'lunch date' with her older siblings, but that wasn't anything new. Alchemy wasn't entirely sure why they continued attempting to meet up with her. Almost as soon as she had the thought, her phone began buzzing; sporadically at first, but then insistently. It didn't stop until she was arriving at home and relieved to see that her siblings, despite her avoidance, had not come to the house. At least not yet. She knew they would come eventually, demanding to know why she always avoided them. Everyone always did, and Alchemy always did her best to ignore them until they went away.

Heading inside, she locked the door behind her and collapsed onto the couch, one of the few furniture items in the house. Setting her guitar case delicately on the floor beside it, Alchemy pulled a couple pennies from her pocket and stacked them in her palm. Closing her eyes, Alchemy held the image of the pennies in her mind's eye before she began editing the mental picture; subtly at first, but then more, changing the pennies into a little copper guitar charm. This was her other 'job,' changing the cheapest coins she received into something she could make a few bucks off of. Sure, it gave her a headache sometimes, but every dollar counts when you don't have a 'real job.'
