Preferred Name: Jim He'll go by James but everyone calls him Jim

Role: Boy Friend of Daughter 1

Age: 28

Likes: Art , Comics and alot of nerdy stuff. He really loves Vivian although her family especially her father can be a bit much for him because of how protective he is over his kids. . He really enjoys the outdoors and camping. He was a boy scout and made it all the way to the rank of Eagle Scout in his troop. he likes her brother he seems like a pretty nice guy, and he thinks her yougest sister is a bit spoiled but she is just a kid who lost her mom.

Dislikes: Dogs, he isn't very fond of them although he will be near them if he has to. He is more of a cat person. Her father looming over their relationship. Vivian's father's attitude towards him. He dislikes Christmas with her family although he would never say that out loud, or to Vivian's face he can put a smile on when he needs to. He loves her family because he loves her but he never really felt like he fit in. (Perhaps this will change) He really dislikes the fact that Vivian's mother died she was kind of the bridge between her father and him.

Personality: Jim was never really into sports or super physical activities when he was growing up but he did enjoy nature and being outdoors. He drew a lot and that turned into a career for him. He works as a graphic designer for a big design firm in New York. He did an advertisement for Vogue and that's how he met Vivian. He is a very sweet kind of quiet person who likes to keep to himself although he usually ends up interacting with her family a lot. He is a guy who likes to have some privacy and sometimes that shows. At times he can be very work driven and he focuses a lot on his drawing. He is very polite and likes to help people with their problems and he is a very good listener. He can't believe someone as beautiful as Vivian is with a dork like him. For some reason he can never seem to be on her fathers good side although he tries. Jim and Vivian have been together for four years and Jim has had some thoughts of moving things along. Her mothers untimely death kind of put a halt in his plans which is why he now feels he needs to be good friends with her father. Easier said than done for him. He is apretty laid back person who is easy to get along with although their are somethings he won't budge on. (To be revealed.)

So begins...

Jim was in his car next to Vivian as he drove towards her family's estate. He was wearing some khaki pants and and some comfy dress loafers. On top he had a dark green sweater vest tie combo. Vivian picked it out. Jim didn't have much of a fashion sense. She looked beautiful as always but she wasn't the only thing on his mind. This was the first time he would be seeing her father since the Funeral of her mother. Jim's relationship with her father wasn't good but the loss of her mother didn't help at all. This wasn't the first Christmas he had spent with her family but this time he felt especially anxious.

They drove in silence for a few minutes they were about a half an hour away from her home. Trying to get his mind off of that subject he looked over at Vivian."We're probably gonna be late" He said with a smirk "Fashionably late he said as a pun towards her job. Making stupid Jokes always made Jim feel better, no matter how stupid they were. It

To say Vivian was nervous was beyond an understatement. If she didn't how Jim with her, she'd probably freeze up all together. She had to be a role-model though, she had to show how much her mother's passing wasn't affecting her. Needless to say, Jim knew the truth. Her mother, plus the sudden extra workload she was given back at Vogue, was something designed to knock the wind out of her.

Hopefully, just hopefully, this could relieve her of the stress. Even if it was just for a little bit. Smoothing out her dress, Vivian lightly laughed with a shake of her head towards Jim. "When are we not late? I remember last year how we ended up showing three hours later because we missed out flight. I have to stop putting off wrapping until the last possible moment..." Vivian's laugh subsided as she looked out the window, a smile still lightly traced over her face. "Mama was so worried we weren't going to be able to get a flight out. I'm glad we did..." It were those memories she looked upon fondly.

"We may have to come on down here more often. I want to be here for Katy a lot more then I was before, is that okay Jim?" Vivian sweetly asked, still fussing with the hairclip as she tried to make sure her bun of her wavy red hair stayed in tact. She knew more then anyone that things never went as planned, but why was she so uneasy about this in the end?

Jim watched as they passed a sign that read ROCKPORT 8 MILES. He was glad she was liking his stupid jokes, it made him feel a little bit better about the next few days to come. He could tell that she was as nervous if not more about the Christmas with her family. He glanced over to her, "Look its gonna be fine" he said with a smile as he put his hand on her leg to comfort her. "We're gonna have a good time and enjoy ourselves." The truth was he had no idea how this was gonna go but he was planning on being supportive of Vivian throughout everything.

A few minutes past then they finally reached her families estate. He pulled up behind a couple of cars and got out. He opened the door and let her out. "Go ahead and see your family he said to her with a smile, he then motioned to the trunk of his car. "Ill get the bags" Ill be up there in a few minutes." He walked around to the back of his car and popped the trunk. Most of the stuff was hers but he had a couple of bags. He grabbed the bags and closed the trunk.

Vivian simply nodded, squeezing Jim's hand tightly. She could only hope he was right in the end, but still something in her gut said otherwise. After all, they had Jaxon's girlfriend showing up, and she hadn't even heard of the girl before. Sighing, Vivian knew she'd yet again be silent and neither give disapproval, or approval. It was a natural occurrence anymore. At least there was Katy, and they didn't have to worry about her dating for awhile.

After awhile, Vivian sighed as they pulled up to the house for what seemed to be the hundredth time, grabbing the teddy-bear she had sitting on her lap as she smoothed out her dress. Grateful for Jim opening her side of the car, she gently kissed his cheek, hugging him tightly.

"Go ahead and see your family."

"Yeah, okay. Thank you so much Jim." Vivian smiled, heading towards the door before she noticed Jaxon was here, with his girlfriend, Vivian guessed. She seemed pretty, but was she kind? "Jax! I'm glad Jim and I aren't too late this time... How have you been?" Vivian looked towards the women, but quickly drew her attention back to her younger brother whom was lugging a few of the bags as she pushed a stray bit of her hair back, walking up to the door to stand next to the beautiful blonde.

Doing what felt like a triple take at Jaxon's girlfriend, Vivian shifted for a moment before observing her necklace as well as the dress. "...You look really beautiful in that. It suits you." Vivian offered the small compliment, her grip on the teddy-bear and the cute velvet clutch bag loosening up slowly.

John

"Where are my presents?! Aidan always brings me toys when he comes home."

John turned to see where his darling girl was, looking positively adorable even when frowning. Chuckling, her the man swooped his princess up into his arms, holding her with one hand up and cradled by his shoulder. "Now, now. We must have some patience, darling. I'm sure your big brother hasn't forgotten you. Let them settle and we'll see about your present, hmm?" He gave her a tiny peck on the nose before putting her back down onto the ground and straightening up his suit.

As he turned away from Katy, John managed to watch Riane walking upstairs by herself, presumably to speak to Aidan and Essie. "Shit." The man murmured under his breath, hoping there would be no arguments before dinner, especially about Riane. She was a sweetheart, but her wanting the kids to like her might be the exact thing to make them dislike her. His children were stubborn creatures, and he knew that only with time would they even think of accepting Riane into the family, if they did at all.

As he was contemplating running upstairs and seeing if he would have to act as a buffer between anyone, the man heard the sound of his other children talking at the door and caught sight of his lovely daughter and son. "Jaxon! Vivian!" The man boomed out, letting a small yet tired grin play over his rugged features as he walked leisurely to greet them and their significant others. He gave them all a once over, trying to feel the situation and their reactions to him. The loss of their mother had done nothing to improve the already fragile relationship he held with Jaxon and Vivian, and he only hoped there would be less arguing or silent fights between them during this festive day. If not for his sake, then for Katy's. He gave a small greeting to Jim and ....towards the woman that seemed to be here with his son. "I'm sorry, we haven't met before have we?" John started, taking a step out of the door, tilting his head as he looked her over. "I'm John Essex, Jaxon's father. " He wanted to be polite, but the surprise of seeing someone with Jax was evident on his face.

"Please, do come in before the cold get us all. Marc can get you all something warm to drink."

Jaxon Essex

A few moments after Jax and Sunny arrived Vivian and Jim pulled up into the driveway and met them at the door.
"Shit..." Jax cursed under his breath as his sister approached, he knew she'd see Savannah standing next to him and soon after put the pieces together. Vivian was always good at observing and even better at keeping her lips sealed until the most opportune moment which was a relief but her poker face unnerved him a bit and knowing that she'd likely already summed up Savannah had him on edge.
"Long time no see Viv, you're looking great as usual." Jax said as he caught sight of the girl who was all dolled up.
"Jax! I'm glad Jim and I aren't too late this time... How have you been?" She called pleasantly in response.
"I'm doing great, it's been too long since I've seen you all." Jax said with a smile.
Jaxon watched as Vivian not so discreetly gave Savannah a few appraising glances. Jax listened as the ladies swapped compliments on their attire.
"Oh, and I'm Savannah, by the way. Savannah Earhart. It's so nice to finally meet you in person..." Savannah added as she erupted in a wave of words and nervousness. Jax put his hand on her shoulder suportively.
"Sorry, I kind of just can't stop talking sometimes." Savannah said apologetically.
"Don't worry about it, you'll fit right in then." Jax assured her as the door opened up behind them and they were met with a jovial greeting from their father.
"Jaxon! Vivian!" The man boomed as Jax took a good look at his father, noticing now more than ever that his father was getting on in years.
"How are ya, old man?" Jax said playfully as he made his way through the door and into the elaborate home. Man it's great to be home Jax thought as he took in the scent of pumpkin pie, cookies and other confections.
"I'm sorry we haven't met before have we?" Jax heard his Father say as he caught sight of Sunny. An apparent look of surprise washed over his face.
"Please, do come in before the cold get us all. Marc can get you all something warm to drink." The man added.
"Dad, Viv, Jim this is my uhm... my f- girlfriend Savannah." Jax spoke as he cursed himself for not just stating the whole truth. He could only hope Savannah wouldn't kill him for it.

Savannah smiled as Jaxon wrapped his arm around her narrow and bare shoulders. She tilted her head towards his shoulder before looking up at her fiance. "Don't worry about it, you'll fit right in then." She softly smiled before nudging the man to her side. She was going to say something to him before looking towards the now opening wooden doors. She watched as the man greeted his two children before looking toward Jim. She just watched Jaxon walk into the house with their bags before hearing the older man introduce himself towards her. "I'm sorry we haven't met before have we?" She smiled towards him brightly as she shook her head. She could tell that he was surprised about her being with Jax but that wasn't going to faze her. She was going to introduce herself but before she could John had invited her into his home. "Please, do come in before the cold get us all. Marc can get you all something warm to drink."

She nodded before entering and moving next to Jaxon. "Thank you, sir. Your home is very beautiful." She told him. She didn't know everything about Jaxon's father, she knew only a few things but she wanted that to change. She wanted to know as much as she could about John and his other children.

"Dad, Viv, Jim this is my uhm... my f- girlfriend Savannah." She could feel a piece of her heart break. She just looked at him a bit in disbelief and scoffed softly before biting her lip, trying her best to remove the look off of her face and moving her right hand above her left as she slipped off her engagement ring slyly. She looked down for a minute to slip to ring in her small clutch bag. If she was just his girlfriend then she wouldn't have a ring like the one she had had on. Savannah was a nice girl, a very nice girl but she didn't like being a secret.

"It's very nice to meet you, sir. I'm so excited to meet you after so long. Now I see where Jackson got his looks." She told him before smiling. Trying not to let her frustration at Jaxon show.

"Thank you. I was a bit hesitate at first but my family pushed me to wear it. I like your dress too. I've never been able to wear red and still look nice." Vivian smiled at the girl, saying a very small, possibly unnoticeable thanks. "Oh, and I'm Savannah, by the way. Savannah Earhart. It's so nice to finally meet you in person, Vivian. Jaxon has told me some much about you and your siblings..--Nothing bad, of course but, I mean... yea... I'm so sorry that I'm talking like an idiot, you see I do this when I'm nervous and I just have so many butterflies in my stomach right now." Vivian could only laugh lightly, already seeing how it might be hard for her to adjust.

Looking straight a head, she smiled at her father as he opened the door with a cheerful voice. "Jaxon! Vivian!"

"Hello dad, nice too see you again." Vivian snuggled closer into Jim as he wrapped his arm around her, talking a few steps within the house. Sure, she had been here four months ago, but... It still felt different. Much, much more different then before. Her mother, Rose, was no longer present.

"Please, do come in before the cold get us all. Marc can get you all something warm to drink."

"No thanks. I'd rather have milk, actually..." Vivian replied swiftly before drawing her attention to Jaxon. There was something off, that much was certain.

"Dad, Viv, Jim this is my uhm... my f- girlfriend Savannah." Vivian obviously knew she was Jaxon's love, or else Savannah wouldn't be here after all... Wait, she had heard an 'f' before girlfriend, correct? It might of been a brief stutter, but it was still present none the less... What was he hiding? There were only two possible words, from what Vivian knew. Friend or FiancΓ©e. Glancing towards Savannah, she noticed the move mentions of her hand. She was slipping something either off or on. Oh was this boy going to get it.

"Hey... Savannah, once your settled in why don't we have a talk? I'd love to know what kind of girl captured my baby brother's heart." Vivian teased, her smile still just as bright as before. It was a good thing she knew how to keep her poker face calm at all times. Things seemed actually... A lot more awkward. "Actually... Can we do it now? It's getting pretty awkward here."
