Appearance Description:
Being one of the slightly older musicians in TMI Entertainment, Nia's better known for her mature, naturally charming figure and face. This kid is one of those types that, quite honestly, only looks the most radiant when she's not trying to; without the make-up or set expressions an actor might have. Not that she doesn't look pretty when photo-shoots are scheduled, but you'll find that her face just.. lights up in a much different way when she gives one of her normal, day-to-day wicked smiles. It just isn't the same. Which is probably why anyone can tell when she's faking, lying, or under some extreme emotion; simply because Nia can't help but look kind of artificial and just off. But then again, that twinkle in her eye very rarely flutters away even when faced with a work overload, or some unfortunate disaster. Optimistic and pretty easy-going all the time, this kid. Nevertheless, it's obvious that she's the happiest when singing and making music.

She's not particularly tall, but her image makes it seem like she is; with that friendly blend of confidence and quiet, feminine grace. The air about her is a lot more like a someone that you'd look up to rather than that of a famous idols', though, sociable and easy to befriend that way. In any case, Nia's figure has always remained seemingly modest; although she's slim, pretty light, and does indeed have curves (but not an hourglass). She doesn't really keep track. Her appeal comes from the kid's adult, casually natural feel; and she very gladly leaves it at that, limiting even the amounts of make-up that she might need to wear. To be frank, Nia's stunning as it is without. And that's as much as I can say about that.

Nia's style is pretty loose and casual, as there really aren't many things that she can't work with. Because of that, this kid wears many different outfits; although all of which state that she does, in fact, have a pretty good fashion sense. The only things that she stays away from are the awkward 'too much exposure' kind of shirts, along with those neon colours that make eyes bleed. If you happen to be an extreme stalker, you'll find that all of her clothes cover certain lengths of her back and torso; where lie an extended amount of scars and fresh bruises, tucked away from anyone's eyes. She takes care that nobody knows, although they're there nonetheless. Yep.

Height: 5'6"
Weight: 115 lbs
Hair Colour: Dark brown, almost black, but lighter and more noticable in the light.
Eye Colour: Black

Personality: Image
Whether it be good or not, Nia's image has always been the exact reflection of her personality and mood at that moment; brutally honest, as it were. But, anyway, most of the time she remains the friendly, fun-loving young adult that she is, easy to get along with and genuinely concerned for others. She's not the type to be prejudiced towards anyone (and she isn't, first impressions are the same as miscellaneous grey blobs) and, as such, treats most people with a warm smile and open arms. Given the benefit of the doubt, although it's not like the kid to harbor a grudge or get agitated; even if there was a reason to be. Nia'd most probably just smile and shrug it off, a little selfless that way, I suppose. Or, well, she's just very optimistic all the time, and she doesn't believe that rage will ever solve anything. Nia's pretty damn mature for her age, coming from an overly abusive childhood.

Anyway, moving on. Being the oldest kid in Hi5, she's kind of forced not to be a slacker. Sure, Nia's not the leader (nor does she want to be, don't get me wrong), but it was implied that she should keep the younger colleagues working just because she happened to be a little more ancient. So, since the job description titled as much, this young adult has always been rather hard-working --but only when it comes to her band, or music in general--; although it's not as if she particularly hardcore about it. Often times, Nia's charming sense of sarcasm and humor breaks through evenly with work. So, well, let's just say that laughter, unicorns, and rainbows follow her wherever she goes, doing whatever needs to be done. Nonetheless, when this kid goes ahead and sees something that she wants? Nia will work herself hard to get it, using her own ability than anyone else's.

But this independence of hers isn't always a good thing. For one, she tends to bottle up her emotions and things like that; thinking that she can solve all her problems alone. Sure, Nia's pretty well-grounded, capable and reliable, but what's under the surface lies a multitude of personal problems concerning her family; issues that nobody knows about. In fact, this kid harshly rejects any people that offer to help, to the point of holding up a positive, outgoing front in order to hide (only when her problems are particularly bad, of course). She's very defensive about her private relations and background, you'll find. It's not a coincidence that her biography is so lacking, besides the common information about her musical talent. Even QUEEN, the CEO of TMI Entertainment, doesn't completely know the full picture; just that Nia has some issues that she's constantly taking care of. Beyond Hi5, there shouldn't be anyone (unless they happen to be really close, or a talented stalker) that has ever heard about this mess; although they too have only been told as much as to QUEEN.

And, well, that's that. In general, Nia is usually pretty calm and collected; with a charming sense of humor and sarcasm that merits a large circle of friends. There aren't a lot of things that bother or shock her either, so dirty subjects? She'll probably just laugh and play along. If you know her well enough, she's actually easy to amuse. Mostly from teasing other people, but don't worry, she'll never go too far on purpose. Nia's self-confident and sustaining since, well, she only relies on herself. It's not particularly hard for her to read those around her, although she never really makes the effort to try. Respects personal space, you know? Nia, as you might imagine, is pretty damn smart grades-wise but she, unfortunately, isn't as athletic as she'd like to be. And her skills in the arts are terrible. But hey, price to pay for musical talent.

History:
I'll just get this fact straight first. Remember when I mentioned a couple paragraphs back that Nia has several scars/bruises in hidden places, along with an over-abusive childhood? Well, this mistreatment carries on from then even to now; perhaps worse considering how famous and well-known she has become. And it's all the work of two cunning parents bent on exploiting her success; although for reasons of which Nia herself understands and doesn't blame them for. Plus, well, it's mighty hard to disagree with more than a decade's cumulative worth of physical (and therefore mental) injuries. Or nowadays she kind of just accepts it at face value. She's too nice to begin with anyway. But let's start from the beginning, shall we?

First of all, to say the least, Nia's parents had a ridiculously fragile source of income even before she was born. They were young, and the only reason why the two even got together was because of 'an accident'; a shotgun marriage that pretty much ruined all of their own, respective plans for the future. Instead of finishing their university years, they were forced to drop out and work for low-wage jobs to support baby Nia; meanwhile being altogether shunned by both their families for such shame. As you can imagine, life kind of sucked. Which was undoubtedly why the feelings of regret, blame, frustration and anger --slowly building from day one-- had steadily been built against their child; until it started to boil over when Nia herself reached the feeble age of five. And there, well, begins the tragic, painful years of youth; punishment for doing absolutely nothing at all but existing.

Of course, they still loved her back then, so it only started with yelling and the occasional slap. As far as her parents were concerned, Nia could only be happy even after enduring their convictions; simply because that was what all their hard work strove for. Being just a kid, she really didn't have any choice but try her best to lesson her supposed faults; doing her best in school and helping out other kids for praise. Contrary to other children, the first lessons that Nia learned were to be self-sustaining and strong; to control her temper, do chores, and think of others first. And she turned out to be quite the obedient, ideal kid; had her parents even looked at that even for a second. But, anyway, this was the continuing cycle that made up her life for three years, doing nothing else but trying to please, until the child had a fateful encounter with a kind relative's piano; just on a seemingly normal visit for a Christmas celebration.

Needless to say, it's kind of a bittersweet moment for her to think about now. Because Nia displayed talent almost immediately, and her already-mature personality made it a hands down decision for this relative (who happened to be a music teacher) to take the kid under her wing. This event pretty much single-handedly formed the bad relationship within the family. But then again, that wasn't what they were concerned about, back then. Nia, being now tutored for free, was wholesomely enchanted with the world of music; and thus she diligently learned, eventually branching into other instruments, for the next seven years. Her parents, of course, worked her hard at the possibility that she might earn money back for them; since her skills were blatantly above-par. But it was only when Nia began to enter competitions and contests that the physical abuse began, from her first song at eleven years old to a piano concerto at fifteen. She was just not allowed to make mistakes; and a childhood of fear stopped her from telling anyone. (Now, though, it's just private. And she kind of feels responsible.)

Not that she often lost, of course. It didn't take very long for Nia to make a name for herself: for exceptional skill in her piano, guitar (acoustic, electric and bass), and her strong voice itself. At eighteen, she debuted with a solo album under soft rock, garnering her instant share of attention. Popularity, she found, that burned permanent dollar signs into her parents' eyes. Kid might have disagreed once, just to see, not to give a good chunk of her earnings to them; but that fleeting notion was beat out of her in no less than ten minutes (which would be those faint jagged scars you might see on her lower sides, stitches she had to get. That was also the time a couple ribs got broken). In any case, that began her career. Two, perhaps three years later, TMI Entertainment found her and she signed; for reasons to live away from home than anything else. And so, Nia became the Co-leader for Hi5; not wanting the direct attention of being the actual head. And that's up to now.

To answer any unspoken questions, yes, this kid really was a miracle to turn out the way she did. It was mostly because of the influence her relative (music coach) had on her; to forgive and forget. And she can't really blame her parents for their behavior, after hearing the full story from this teacher herself. Nowadays, Nia visits her parents perhaps twice every month; feeling responsible to give them a better life for what they could've had. And, well, she's kind of held under parental blackmail ('Where would you be without us?'), along with the fact that it's part of her image to be close with her makeshift family. Kid can't really help that they only feel secure after giving her a couple bad bruises. Nia believes that, if she tries hard enough, things might change. And that's why it's all a giant secret. Oh, but she's happy enough about everything else. Hi5 is pretty damn awesome.

Chae Yeong Jin - Nia

Like any other normal day for a particularly hardworking idol, waking up in the morning was never so much of an issue; primarily because this little kid had realized, just within the first few days of living with her fellow members of Hi5, that pretty much nobody was going to stop dreaming of unicorns and rainbows until they were forced to. 'Nobody', of course, meaning one person. But, either way, the job to cover the rest of her crew was somehow magically placed into her hands; being one of the only responsible kids to roll out of bed and yell at other people to do the same. But hey, just because I get to wake them up doesn't mean I can't get some fun out of it, right? And so began Nia's magical journey: playing pranks creatively waking up her bandmates in the most amusing way possible (that's pretty much the only reason she bothers to do this at all. Amusement.).

But be that as it may, though, she only really targeted the guys; simply because whatever she did to Juliet would probably back-fire. And, well, she's the only one that wakes up the normal way. Doesn't try to beat me up for shaking her, either. In any case, these thoughts ran through her head as Nia washed up and got dressed; as usual, the first to be about. And, more often than not, she'd pretty much stay that way for about an hour; savoring the morning silence, so to speak. But today happened to be different, and there was no way Queen would approve of Nia's first plan of firing a water gun continuously on Aeon's face; when the evidence would still be there in a meeting earliest in the day. And so, the kid had absolutely no choice but run along to the next best option, one that would hopefully cover two bases at once. Because we're obviously not going to be early.

Before all that, though, the kid headed straight back to her room and to the side of Juliet's bed (whichever bunk that might be); lightly shaking the younger awake, much in contrast to what she was about to do to the guys. "Rise and shine, Juliet. Mysterious morning meeting with Queen, remember?" With her signature smile and easy tone of voice, Nia gave one last poke before shuffling to her table and grabbing a set and running Macbook under one arm; along with a set of speakers held in the other. Then, walking out of the room, the young adult shot a wicked grin backwards and gave a little wave before a warning: "I'll shut the door for you, but you'll probably hear this anyway. Might want to cover your ears with something." Being that Juliet was her roommate, and since this was pretty much routine, that was all Nia could say. She might even know what I'm doing, so it's fine.

Perhaps three minutes later (and a short trip to the other end of the hall), she was all set. Full-power speakers? Check. Song loaded? Check. As closest as possible outside both SWA and Aeon's doors? Check. Houston, I think we're ready to go. With noise-cancelling headphones over her head --and half-kneeling on the floor with her laptop, beside her speakers-- the kid gave a last mischievous sparkle before unleashing hell first thing in the morning; by pressing a very simple red 'play' button. Instantly, on full blast (enough to almost make the floor vibrate), 'Baby, baby, baby oooh, Like baby, baby, baby nooo, Like baby, baby, baby oooh, I thought you'd always be mine ...' etc. sprang out of seemingly nowhere; and, if not for at least the high-pitched wailing lyrics, the noise would definitely wake anyone up. Or so Nia hoped, pleasantly waiting outside; crouched with her Macbook protectively secured on her lap.

If not, well, the song would just loop and restart. Either way, it wasn't so much of her concern; as she could pretty much hear absolutely nothing with headphones stuffed over her ears. Testament to the overall relaxed expression on her face, and the fact that the kid wasn't throwing the source of these troubles into the wall right about then. So, well, that's that. Yep. We're going to be late.

Lee Yon Kun

Lee Yon shot up in bed with a cry of confusion. Then, he heard what woke him up. Groaning, he more or less fell out of bed and stumbled to the door. One name was on his mind. Well, two. That confounded Justin Beiber, and Nia. Dammit! Her and her goddam pranks! Did she ever give it a rest? Merde!

He yanked the door open and looked around. There she was, kneeling on the floor with a MacBook and speakers with a pleased expression on her face. Extremely peeved, Β he reached down and yanked the speaker plugs out of the jacks they were plugged into.

Rubbing his ears, he shouted at Nia, "What the hell! Are you insane?!" He hated when people woke him up. Especially Nia, for this reason. He was most likely going to be cranky for the rest of the day, which wasn't really like him. Usually, he was cheerful. Today would be different, thanks to Nia.

Sung Jinhee- Juliet

Juliet blinked her eyes open as she felt the light shaking of her roommate. She moaned and groaned a little at the thought of having to meet up with Queen without a given reason. Lazily she sat up from her bed and watched as Nia strutted off out the door with an obvious plan to disrupt the morning's peace. Juliet just stretched and gave a groggy mumble. She touched the floor with her feet and picked up the pillow. As the sound blasted throughout the hallways, the floor shaking rumble send a shock up her spine. Nia did warn her. Even though she didn't like the girl's methods, at least she was honest about what she did. Well, sometimes.

Waiting with her eyes shut, trying to block her senses from exploding over the immense noise, Juliet soon felt the vibration cease. Followed by the distinct yell of another one of her band mates, Yon Kun.She grabbed a towel and dashed out the shared bedroom for the bathroom. She wanted to get inside before both boys erupted with anger at Nia's wake up call. She hurried and did her best to look presentable, whipping on as much make-up as she was willing and slipping on a pair of tight jeans and a one shoulder, black and white striped top, and a head band with a large black rose studded with sliver gems.

"Oppa! Unnie!" She called down the hall, looking at herself in the mirror one last time. "Hurry up! You don't want to keep Queen waiting!"

Lee Yon Kun

His attention was called away from Nia by Juliet, who was glancing out the hall at the two. A cool headband sat atop her lovely dark hair that framed her pretty face. Lee Yon stood there in silence for a few seconds, until he remembered that he had to respond. "Oh, ah..." he sputtered. Gosh, she was pretty. "Right. Eh... where's Sang?" He turned on his heel and strode down the hall. Upon reaching his bandmate's door, he pounded on it with his fist. "Sang! Up and at 'em! Queenie's a-watin'!"

With that, he went back into his own room, trying to steal one more glance at Juliet. He shut the door and got out his best tee and pair of jeans. He pulled on the red shirt and the dark pants, then laced up some sneakers. He walked over to his mirror and ran a comb through his wild hair a few times until it was as neat as it would get. Standing straight, Lee Yon poked his head back outstide the door and leaned against the wall, waiting for his bandmates to get ready. They'd be getting a new member today. Lovely.

Sang Hwan - SWA

Sang was in a very deep sleep, that is, until he starting to hear that blasted Justin Bieber! He shot up from his bed with his most annoyed look on his face, but the dark circles under his eyes emphasized on his death glare. He threw the covers off of him (forgetting that he was only clad in his boxers), slammed the door open and dropped kicked the speaker before going back into his bedroom. Sometimes, Nia got on his nerves. He went to the bathroom, taking a shower and doing hair, anything to help him wake up. He walked back into his room, looking into his closet and wondered what to wear. Finally, putting on a outfit he deemed worthy of, he quickly put on washed out, gray skinny jeans before tying up some converse on his feet with colorful socks (mismatched, of course).

The small, skinny Asian whipped his bangs to the side as he walked out of his bedroom, fully cleaned and clothed, but the dark circles and death glare were still there. He quickly made his way into the kitchen and made some instant coffee just for himself. Well, he needed to wake up, didn't he? After taking a sip of the black coffee (he hated added things into his coffee), he sighed in content as he was fully awakening. He walked into the hallway, spotting the leader. "A-ah...Lee Yon Hyung?" He tilted his head just a bit before sipping some more of his coffee. "Sorry for...um...waking u-up late..." His soft, but precised voice was hard to hear, but the band got used to his quiet tone. He gave a death glare at Nia before leaning against the wall like Lee Yon.

Chae Yeong Jin - Nia

Pfft. Those two never get old. Nia couldn't help but crack up a little at Lee's instant change of mood from 'genuinely pissed off' to 'lovestruck', just from one coincidental three-second glance down the hallway. Hey, it's funny when one side is so obvious. It was probably damn lucky for her that both culprits happened to be somewhere far enough not to notice that grin on her face; for the sake of either's sanity. But then again, that amusement didn't last for very long anyway. She was still crouched on the ground, although now without the Bieber and headphones around her neck, when the most bipolar dangerous morning-person slammed open his door; upon immediately turning into Godzilla (or the Hulk) and (in what she saw to be slow-motion) aimed a gigantic green foot at her set of beloved speakers. Which, like the stuff of nightmares, peacefully fell over; massively dented and certainly broken.

How he does that, I'll never know. In any case, Nia could only sigh and halfheartedly curse the Hulk as she stood; because, well, she knew she'd totally had it coming. But then again, having a Queen rage was something she honestly never wanted to see, even at the cost of the rare Sang Death Glare. Something that had sent a chill down her spine before, but now only gave bouts of profound guilt; simply because she was often the person who woke him up (although those dark circles made it all the more uncomfortable). Well, I obviously went over the line. Mental note to apologize later. With the morning job over and done with, Nia had nothing else but to shuffle along, clean up the remnants of her so very important mission, and don back on her hat (and some miscellaneous, small shoulder bag); which she had left for the headphones earlier. Because no image (yes, linked again) is complete without a hat.

So then, well, having been already fully-dressed before calling the others, she could do naught but stand outside; tossing her set of car keys up and down in boredom until Lee Yon showed up, then Sang (with another death glare). Which, of course, sparked another round of awkward and a genuine, sad expression; of some smaller form of regret. And, being the type unable to even keep a smidgen of a poker face, Nia subconsciously put her hands together (like a prayer), semi-ducked her head and shuffled over to the two guys; her usually bright smile now small, apologetic as she was. "Okay, okay, I'm sorry. Bieber was a bad idea. Promise I won't do that again, alright?" Here, she paused and let out a barely audible sigh; hands dropping to her sides. "And you know Queen would've raged if none of us woke up to show up."

With all that said and done, Nia took a quick glance down the hallway (approximately where Juliet was) before looking at her car keys in a kind of forlorn way. Oh well. Do what you gotta do. Then, she dangled the only security for her very precious BMW Convertible from a finger; about to offer something she'd never personally proposed before. (Although it's not like she refuses when anyone absolutely needs a ride, but getting one from her is rare.) Hey, it was expensive. And, with only two seats, I'd rather it be saved for a more intimate relationship. But, anyway, you probably get the point. "I'll give you guys a ride to call it even, 'kay?" Whether or not they cared for things like that, the pitch remained on the table.

Nevermind, of course, the fact that she could only take one passenger at a time. And there'd never be a way in hell when Nia would agree to someone else driving her car. Well, it didn't hurt to try. And they can always get a rain-check on it. It took one discriminate peek at the convenient clock on the wall to tell that, either way, Lee Yon and Sang didn't have much time to decide. Although Lee Yon would probably get a nice deal out of this either way. (Quality time with Juliet or one very sweet ride, yes?)
