My heart is hard like stone, my blood feels like ice, my mind churns with a lust for war. Am I such a savage thinking so?

a character in “To Be a Herd”, as played by NemotheDroneAlien

Raven is a mejastic but frightening image of a horse. She is indeed beautiful, with a well muscled, slender and sleek body covered in a jet black pelt. With long coarse mane and tail of the same color. But, something about the cold gaze in her dark brown eyes and the grim silence about her makes a chilling air in her vibe. Making other horses, even her herd, a bit uneasy. Raven's breed is a thoroughbred mare, which states the speed is deffinantly on her side. Her legs are long and powerful, her neck slender, has nice strong shoulders along with flared nostrils. She is of thoroughbred blood, but has never been with humans but has been in a wild herd since birth.

(I don't know if this link will work. but this should be a photo of Raven) ... 37045x.png

Raven, although is loyal to her herd as a Night Watcher, can be a cold hearted mare. She can be selfish and stubborn leading to not very much likings from the other horses. Raven also has a dangerous lust for war and bloodshed, which draws some suspision in the herd. Raven isn't shy to fight, but would never really strike without having good reason. As Night Watcher, she takes her rank very seriously and doesn't dare question Herd Law but she sometimes finds herself longing for battle.

Like some mares, Raven dreads mating season. Every summer Raven tries to keep herself hidden in the border of a forest so try to minimize the chance of a proud stallion. Of course, even if a stallion appraoched she wouldn't hesitate to fight him and most likely win the quarrel. She doesn't allow herself to love a stallion for fear of betrayal or heartbreak. She just tells herself it's a waste of time and she didn't want to put herself through the drama, but sometimes, she wonders.....

Although Raven's thoughts sometimes teeter-totter with the chance of a mate, she has laid down her hoof to never become a mother. She just isn't the nurturing motherly type and would fear that that foal won't survive anyway.

Theme Song: again, I don't know if this will work. but try and see if it'll pull up.
if you can't, well, the song is called Pain by Three Days Grace.

Raven was born in the Eastern Herd, a strong but quiet foal and filly. She never was lured to play with the other foals and really didn't want to run around the meadow, kicking heels and whinneying like a silly pixie. No, Raven just stood close to her mother, turning her ears and scanning around cautiously for danger.

As an apprentice, Raven had an interrest for night watching. Patrolling the borders secretly at night, while keeping watch for threats and possibly fighting ruthlessly with an enemy under the moonlight caught her attention quickly. During her training, she met a timid but strong arabian colt named Sahn Kye. Although they've never classified eachother as 'friends' they spent a great deal of time together. Both horses trained to be Night Watchers and developed a sort of aquantenceship. At least, that's what Raven thought.

Both Raven and Sahn Kye grew to be adult mare and stallion, becoming Night Watchers after months of training. Now, both horses still respect eachother, although Raven just calls it tolerating, secretly she does respect him.

So begins...
