Emilie 'Kanon' Ashford's Story

Wolfblade watches everyone fight. He looks over to Scarlet as she said "Guys...this is going to sound weird but he should be dead. But he's not dematerializing...." Wolfblade smirks, knowing Thanatos is not so easy to go down; just when he was thinking this, Thanatos body started to dematerialize as a dead black crow took his body's place. Wolfblade nods then looks at Blade shouting, "Hey, WolfBlade! I need assistance!" Wolfblade kneels down to the ground picking up more pebbles, about 5. He then dashes towards the Minotaur again, and shoots two pebbles at each of the Minotaur legs stopping it in its track. Wolfblade then spins around the Minotaur to have a face to face meeting with it. He smirks as the health bar was again dropping. He then shoots another pebble at point blank range, sending it a couple of feet away. The health bar turned slowly into the red zone, just when the notice bar came up again "Revival Ability Activated." Wolfblade shook his head as he let out a sigh. "I am done with this puzzle." He knew the puzzle was the revival ability the Minotaur had. The only way to beat this puzzle andthe Minotaur was to kill it one blow. Wolfblade the charged the Minotaur for the last time. He shot the the second to last pebble he had at the Minotaur head, making it stumble back. Wolfblade then jumped about the Minotaur and smiled. "This is it!" He then shot his last pebble hitting the Minotuar head from the top. As he lands behind the Minotaur, the Minotaur then broke apart into pixels. A notice bar then popped up "500 xp and 300 gold gained to every player. Wolfblade panted as he caught his fall, sliding on the floor leaving dust in his wake. He calmly brushed off his pants as he walked forward to his group. "Well done guys. Thanatos, don't use all your tricks just yet." The creaking of a door nearby echoed in the distance, foreshadow the eminent threat nearby.



Wolfblade turned and waved his hand letting his teammates know to follow him to the boss door. As they approach the door, Wolfblade eyes go narrow hidden in the shadows of his hood as he got a bad feeling tugging at the back of his mind as he looks at the bosses door.





Wolfblade pushes this feeling to stop and not go in, away as he leads his teammates through the boss door and into the chamber.




As they walk further into the chamber something caught Wolfblades eye, Sitting in the chair ahead was.... The first boss of the game.




Wolfblade made a tight fist as many thoughts ran though his mind. "What is he doing here? He shouldn't be here, not now!" He says without realizing he was talking out loud. The boss then stood up just when a notice bar popped up. "Empheral, the Dark Knight Level 85." Without a warning, Empheral dashed at everyone. Wolfblade instint started to take over. He threw his hand behind as his sword appeared on his back. It appeared just like a visible cloth was removed from it. Wolfblade then did a 360 spin as he slashed the ground behind him using the force to push everyone back. Just then Empheral was in front of Wolfblade and slashed both his swords down. Wolfblade only had time to threw his sword above his body and used his hand to hold it up also just when the two swords clashed with his swords. The force of the clash made Wolfblades hood fly off his head. The power of Empheral caught Wolfblade off guard as the strength pushed Wolfblade on one knee holding his ground.

He stares at the dead crow as he looks at Scarlet. "Leave it there, it will resurrect eventually." ....the Minotaur then broke apart into pixels. A notice bar then popped up "500 xp and 300 gold gained to every player. Thanatos pressed okay to the mini boss reward and checked his stats. Wolfblade had just defeated the mini boss and gained access to the boss quarters. "As expected...." Thanatos said with a mumbling voice. "Thanatos don't use all your tricks just yet..." "As you command..." He says with a nonchalant shrug. He walks over to LunaStrike. "Thanks for saving 'me' by the way. I appreciate the gesture." He flashes a genuine smile to her as he regains his normal composure. So that's a real smile He then looks at White Empress, "I 'died' for a reason. It was a trust exercise so to speak."

A few minutes later, Wolfblade signaled his comrades to follow him to the boss room. Thanatos steps forward into the abysmal palace looking room as he spots the boss sitting on a monarchical throne. "What is he doing here?...." Thanatos also asked himself the same question as Wolfblade fended off the vehement monster. The sheer force of the enemy's blade weighing down on him forcing him to take a knee. Just then, Wolfblade's hood fell off revealing his eyes, one blue and an eye like his own, with Bloodlust. Before his face could get revealed, Thanatos dispatched his crows protecting Wolfblade. Thanatos materializes in front of Empheral as he summons his blade slashing his arms, loosening his strength pressed on Wolfblade. Thanatos activated his Fallen Angel Beserker and sheathed his sword. "I promised Wolfblade not to show my skills but....just to prove myself. Swift Death!" Thanatos activated as he charged forward with the haste of his 2 skills. Thanatos opened his eyes as he sets his blade on black fire, slicing Empheral's platemail, leaving a gash and 1/5 of his health gone. "Not bad damage for fighting a level 85 with my basic abilities..." He stood ready to read any attack that came his way. "The eyes never lie..." Thanatos let out another volley of black flames as his crows turn into multiple versions of himself, setting the boss on fire from multiple directions. "I found a weak spot, the middle of his back...he can't take FIRE attacks well either."

The battle was decided when Wolfblade smited the mini boss with a pebble. The reward notification popped up granted Scarlet 500 xp and 300 Gold. She pressed okay as she sighed. Scarlet looked up at Thanatos. "Leave it there, it will resurrect eventually." "Hmm...okay. B-but how did you just....? Nevermind." Scarlet knew better than not to ask unnecessary questions.

Wolfblade signaled the team forward to boss room entrance. Wolfblade hesitates as he enters the room. An ominous quiet atmosphere was broken by Wolfblade. "What is he doing here? "He shouldn't be here, not now!" Scarlet wondered what he was talking about as the boss stood up from it's embellished throne. Empheral, The Dark Knight Level 85" it read. Scarlet stood shocked as she gasped "LEVEL 85?!" But now was not the time to panic, she thought. Wolfblade ran to fend off the charging boss as he took a knee, blocking it's advance. The sheer weight was too much for him, apparently and his hood flew off revealing his eyes before Thanatos effectively concealed him. "He has a similar eye like Thanatos..." One blue and one bloodshot red. "No wonder those two can fight so easily and maneuver...." Scarlet quickly casted some Strength skills as well as a minor healing spell over Wolfblade. She slowly chanted as she raises up her wand, giving everyone temporary stat boosts in every general area, mostly speed/haste. Thanatos let out another volley of black flames as his crows turn into multiple versions of himself, setting the boss on fire from multiple directions. "I found a weak spot, the middle of his back...he can't take FIRE attacks well either." Scarlet had an idea. She casted another spell, "Di percutere virtutem inimici tui! (Gods grant the power to smite thy enemies, in Latin)" Everyone was instantly granted Fire affinity for this battle. She looked around as Wolfblade, Blade Slizer, and LunaStrike had their weapons consumed with flames; White Empress and Thanatos had fire abilities exponentially increased being they already had fire abilities. Each member their own unique color for their fire, "Hmm a hybrid affinity?" She wondered. She drank one one of her mana potions as she stayed ready to heal anyone that would die. She had entered her Angelic Raiment state which could heal everyone exponentially.

Luna was confused as to what was going on with the crow but she decided she would ask questions later.
She watched as her team mates then destroyed the mini boss, a small sigh escaped her lips realising that this part was over. A small window popped up stating that she had gained 500Exp as well as 300 gold coins. Pressing the ok button, she decided that she would need to get some new weapons later.
The team moved into the next room, but something was off about it, looking to the front she noticed the first boss. And it was a high level. No one should be able to do that all the new played on average would be around level 20-30 if they were lucky, except the Beta testers. But even then they would have a hard time defeating it.

She watched as Thantos and Wolfblade began to attack the boss. They were of much higher level than the rest of the team thats for sure, but even they are going to have trouble.
"I found a weak spot, the middle of his back...he can't take FIRE attacks well either." She heard Thantos state.
This was lucky she was a chaos wizard but specialised more in the thunder side, she could use the Fire around the same level though. She heard someone speak a spell, suddenly she felt fire surrounding her gauntlets, like her thunder the fire was purple. But this time the fire was stronger than normal.
She had come up with an idea, turning to Scarlett a smirk upon her face. "You know support spells right? Think you could give Everyone an attack, speed and defence boost as well? I'll try and keep firing fire arrows at it until we can come up with a full attack"

Her gauntlets began to shift into a bow, holding the bow in her left hand, she placed a metal arrow head in the front of the bow. Pulling back on the string, the arrow of fire began to form. Aiming at the Bosses weak point on it's back she fired. She couldn't do much damage but she was fast. This would enable her to fire multiple shots of fire at her opponent whilst from a distance, as well as being able to evade attacks quicker than most people.

White Empress survived the battle with the Minotaur because of her guildmates. Just as she thought all hope was lost; LunaStrike had stunned the beast with an arrow from her bow, giving the time for Blade Slizer to push her away from the Minotaur’s line of charge. Luckily they managed to take down the mini-boss without any big trouble. White got back on her feet, shaking slightly from the near death experience. She shot a thanking glance towards Blade and Luna.

"I 'died' for a reason. It was a trust exercise so to speak." Thanatos said to White as he rose from the dead. Anger rose inside her ’I just saved your miserable life you s…!’ She wanted to walk up and smack him in the head with all her might while shouting all the thoughts that ran through her mind, but she managed to control herself. What she didn’t realize was the fact that his statement had nullified the minor shock-state she was in after the battle. She was angry, but ready.

Without much speech WolfBlade continued into the newly unlocked room, the rest following. The next battle started right after, but this time the enemy didn’t look like one that was easily going down. In fact his level was way higher than the last boss ’Are you serious!?’ Before she could ask the others anything, the boss rushed towards the group. White was pushed away by Wolf as he prepared to take a hit from the boss. After regaining her balance, she started moving to the right to flank the boss. If Wolf was fighting so would she.

In the matter of seconds, Thanatos joined the fight and attacked the boss from behind. "I found a weak spot, the middle of his back...he can't take FIRE attacks well either." ’Sounds like it’s my time to shine.’ She felt a feeling of power inside her body appear. Looking at her UI she saw that it was some kind of buff. She didn’t care where it came from for now, all she wanted was to burn that knight in the middle of the room to ashes. Realizing that she was too slow to get into position to attack the boss from a weak spot she stopped half way around him. “White flames of the phoenix.” White flames started dancing peacefully around her body. ’This is going to hurt me as well as you.’ She hold both her hands above her head. A small ball of fire appeared above her. The white flames turned wild and started liking her body before flying up into the ball of fire above her. The ball expanded with every flame joining it. The illuminating sphere above her was a combination of white and red flames going wild as if they were fighting for space around the center. Her health bar dropped slightly with every flame touching her body. It was as if the flames were absorbing her life energy before flying into the ball above her. The spell seemed destructive yet marvelously beautiful.

What White Empress experienced though, was everything but beautiful. Every flame liking her body felt like the start of a third degree burn. If it hadn’t been because of the adrenaline from fighting an overwhelming enemy she would surely have fainted by now. Her body was shacking. Sweat was rolling down her chin. As her health hit the half mark, she yelled towards the group around the knight “I would move if I were you!” The ball of flames had grown into a double diameter of her own height. “OVERWHELMING FIREBALL OF THE WHITE PHOENIX!” She threw her hands down with all her might, falling to her knees in the process. The sphere of burning death unleashed towards Empheral. ’Please hit the right target.’

WolfBlade managed to defeat the Minotaur without it activating its Revival Ability. Throughout the large party, a notification for EXP and GOLD popped up, confirming the leader's kill. Just then, a portal had opened and everyone had followed WolfBlade into it. And there stood the boss, coming so soon and at such a high level...



"What... is this....." Devan muttered, his eyes widening as he saw the boss. The player quaked in his shoes and armor as he stared at the sight for a split second before it dashed. Level 85.... None of us.... None of us are even close to HALF it's level! Devan nearly died inside, as he thought he would die anyway.....

But WolfBlade still retaliated, stepping forward and blocking the sudden blow. Thanatos himself fought back as well, ending his assault by summoning multiple crows and engulfing the boss in flames. "I found a weak spot, the middle of his back...he can't take FIRE attacks well either." Thanatos shouted. This got Blade back on the battle. No, he's not dying. Not yet! He won't, not with so many people he's fighting alongside with!

Blade switched his swords to Flamma Aeterna, a fire-elemental blade. The sword that's just perfect to fight against this boss. A notification also popped up under his hub. ScarletRose - FIRE AFFINITY SPEED UP Blade smirked as he saw his blade's flames grow and turn white, the sure sign of a mix of Light and Fire elements in one weapon. "Time to test it out, huh..." Blade grinned as he got onto a fighting stance. Turning to his left to examine the status of his teammates, LunaStrike began to move fast and fire arrows at Empheral, while White Empress.....

"Guys! Cover White Empress!" Blade shouted out before charging into the battle. Blade jumped and came down on the high-level boss, slashing downwards. No hit registered, just like the Minotaur, but Blade still smirked as he planned to put his skill into motion. While Empheral was busy with other players, Blade stacked up on those slashes, pulling off 10 at most while dodging any large and wide attacks, as well as AoE attacks.

Finally, Blade stepped behind Empheral and slashed, creating fireballs and sending them all at its back. Because of his skill Eyes of Wisdom ~ Battle Prowess some of the fireballs created critical hits. This was enough to gain the attention of the Dark Knight, and Blade ran backwards while slashing at the air again and again, sending a rain of fireballs. Just before the Dark Knight charged, Blade called out to his fellow guild members. "EVERYONE GET OUT OF THE WAY!" Blade sheathed his sword, and the hits he stacked earlier registered onto the system, and the Knight was brought to a stunned-flinch state as 10 numbers, large for a relative-new player fighting such a high level boss, appeared near the boss. A bit of the bar was slashed off, and Blade jumped back a bit more as the giant fireball came into the Dark Knight's back from White Empress.

"I found a weak spot, the middle of his back...he can't take FIRE attacks well either." Wolfblade smirks as he gets up from the pure pressure of the boss' weapon. Everyone seemed to be reacting on different wavelengths, some astonished by its level, and some taking it head on like White Empress. Nonetheless, Wolfblade gripped his sword tightly as he continued to parry each strike the slowed down monster dished out, his blade consumed with flame. The others were using Scarlet's abilities to their advantages too: Luna using her arrows to chink the weak spot, Empress using her Phoenix powers, Thanatos blasting endless volleys of flames and Blade sending his own shower of fire.

Wolfblade smiled at everyone as he had just reassured the feeling he had picked the right people for his guild. "Guys, keep hacking at it!", He shouted to give a boost of morale. Wolfblade charged forward as he flipped over the boss and stabbed his back where Thanatos had specified the location of the weak spot would be. He saw the bosses' HP finally reach zero (After 1 hour) with all of their combined efforts as he heard a threatening sound of a notification. The Knight had just jumped back to his throne and picked up a new sword, this time a Two Handed Sword. "Huh?! He should be dead!" Wolfblade looked around as he realigned with his team in formation. A glowing status bar popped up in big capital letters: "THE DARK KNIGHT'S CHIVALRY ACTIVATED" followed by another one "THE SPEED OF DARKNESS ACTIVATED" Wolfblade used his eye to discern what was happening.

"Guys, bad news! He just activated regeneration and revealed his true health. His weak spot is gone, but fire is still super-effective. To make matters much worse his attack is 200% increased and his speed is 300% increased! STAY IN FORMATION! Scarlet heal as much as you can and set as many defensive wards as you can." Wolfblade charged up his blades letting them noisily scratch the surface of the floor as he picked them up gradually, getting closer to the boss. His blades let off a Dark Blue flame as it charged up becoming neon. He began to jump up as the boss attempted to slice at him. Wolfblade got into his vicinity and started slashing the boss in the chest area, not letting the boss react. "Faster.....Faster......I need to go even faster!!!"

Clang. Clang. Clang, his swords went as they hit the Boss

His swords sliced him continuously as he chipped off the knight's health slowly. Wolfblade finished his combo by cross slashing and jumping backwards. The Knight stumbled back as one of the three remaining Health bars disappeared.

"You know support spells right? Think you could give everyone an attack, speed and defence boost as well?", Luna requested. Scarlet's face grew serious. "I'll see what I can conjure up." Her teammates were fighting a level 85 boss. She needed to see what she could do to personally contribute. After all, she wasn't physically dealing any damage in her position.

"Perducat nos ad immortalitatem virtutis!" (Guide us to the power of immortality!, in Latin) Her spell illuminated her wand and blasted everyone with a shimmer of golden dust, making them glow. A notification popped up, "Agility, Attack, and Defence parameters increased." Another notification popped up saying she had leveled up. Scarlet heaved a sigh as she drank another mana potion, using her mana to heal the others. After all, healers get experience from helping others not combat. "EVERYONE, GET OUT OF THE WAY!" Blade Slizer shouted. Without another moment's hesitation, Scarlet jumped out of the way as a colossal ball of fire hit the boss. It turned around and it didn't look happy.....

1 HOUR LATER

Wolfblade signaled what seemed to be the end of the Dark Knight as the knight went back to retrieve a 2 handed sword. "He should be dead!" A glowing status bar popped up in big capital letters: "THE DARK KNIGHT'S CHIVALRY ACTIVATED" followed by another one "THE SPEED OF DARKNESS ACTIVATED" Scarlet quivered in fear as she wondered what those pop-ups could mean. She was soon answered as Wolfblade told the guild about the new stat boosts the boss had received. Wolfblade gave his new orders as everyone listened. "STAY IN FORMATION! Scarlet heal as much as you can and set as many defensive wards as you can." Scarlet scrambled back into formation with the others as she put up several barriers to each one of them, fortifying their defense. "No choice....I have to do it." She activated her support finisher move, "Solemn Wishes" as it revived everyone to their MAX health and mana as well as boosted stats. The boss was being drained of its power, dividing it's absorbed power equally to regenerate the guild's members. Wolfblade started to dual wield his blades as he finished it off with a cross slash depleting a bar of health. "Only 3 more...." Scarlet said.

After what had seemed to take forever the Knight's HP bar had finally reached Zero, but unlike the other boss he didn't disappear he just jumped back to his throne and grabbed a larger two handed sword.
They were in deep shit for sure.
Luckily the stat boost the Scarlett had gave them was still working, she watched as Wolfblade began to move much faster than he was before, whilst using a combo attack. It finally made a large dent in the Boss's health.
This caused her to smile, a plan finally forming in her head.

"Speed" She said with a laugh, that's how they were going to win. This battle was starting to be better suited for her every second, she may not have a high attack rate or defense, but her speed was of a much higher level. That's what she used for the base of her attacks. If she could move at a great speed, she would begin to be untouchable.
"We need to move fast, and I mean very fast! The faster you go the more hits you can get on the enemy, they may not cause much damage but it make's you harder to hit." She explained.

It may not work but it was the best idea she had, from the looks of things she was going to have to go all out.
She held her bow at her side as it burst into flames, the fire began to morph into a slim sword, it was rather light as well.
"Blaze flash" She mumbled, ribbons of fire began to fly around her body, the blade of her sword was engulfed with flames. She began to run, and at first it was just a normal speed, then she began to go faster. A trail of dust could be seen from behind her, she began to blur due to the speed she was going, the flames around her just being seen. She began to attack.
She was never in one place long, she sliced one area, then the next and so fourth. She was moving quick and it was hard for her to be seen by others. Her mana was beginning to get low. She was going to have to stop soon, the Knight try to swing for her but she was moving to quick. She was grateful she worked on her speed now.

Doing a back flip away from the Knight she skidded to a halt. Slightly behind the rest of her team mates, she was panting a lot. The fire around her disappeared as did the fire on her sword. The sword once again morphed into gauntlets.
Looking at the Dark Knights health bar she smiled slightly noticing that she had taken down one bar.
"The rest is up to you guys, I'm out" She said as she collapsed to her knee's catching her breath.

"Guys, bad news! He just activated regeneration and revealed his true health. His weak spot is gone, but fire is still super-effective. Thanatos quickly maneuvered back into formation as he shot multiple bursts of black flame. Wolfblade began to assault the boss with his renown skill known as Dual Wielding, a skill that hasn't been seen since Kirito liberated the trapped players from Sword Art Online. He began to chip the bosses health, vaporizing a bar. Scarlet chanted a hymn in which Thanatos had his mana regnerated as well as his health. He could feel his energy coming back to him.... "Alright, let's do this." He sheathed his sword once more and instantaneously slashed Empheral in the torso, impairing his balance.

"You're mine now!...Nevermind." he said quietly as a teammate, LunaStrike rapidly sliced and burned Empheral, destroying yet another bar of health. "Okay my turn........" Thanatos began as he formed his obsidian blade, grasping it with a firm grasp on reality. "Here it goes!" he shouted as he charged forward, slicing downward on the boss to slow him down. The boss staggered a bit as he tried to regain his composure. "Oh no you don't!" Thanatos' body dispersed and multiplied around the boss, creating many specters in the shadows. "Burn into hell." He twitched as his ocular prowess morphed into a whole new shape. BLOODLUST LV 2 ACTIVATED, the notification said as it popped up. He closed his eyes yet again as he took a deep breath and exhaled. He opened his eyes as it began to spin clockwise, creating an inverted world.



The Knight stood with its hands enchained, its body tied to a floating rock. "How long can you endure this pain...?" Thanatos began to stab the boss multiple times as his health decreased slowly. His clones, in agreement torturing the boss..... "You're in my realm now...." he smirked..... Thanatos did a final slash upward on his helmet as the timer hit zero. The inverted version of the dungeon turned back into normal, the boss back in it's place, his teammates in the same position they were in. Time resumed as Thanatos looked up and heard a thump.

Clank! went Empheral's helmet as it dropped on the floor. Thanatos rubbed his eyes as his eyesight blurred, getting adjusted to the light. What he saw astonished him the most. "Brother? No it can't be." he said with uncertainty.

He rubbed his eyes again as he glared at the boss. He was a man with fair complexion, black hair waist-length with shoulder-length bangs framing the sides of his face, covering most of his right eye. He was wearing traditional red samurai armour somehow morphed from the old armor "Empheral" had been wearing, a gunbai (giant fan used as a weapon in Imperial Japan) attatched on his back. His face contained cracks as if he had been reincarnated under some contract with the devil.



"Izuna.....it's you....but how?" He walked forwards.....sheathing his sword. "Nii-sama! (Brother in Japanese)" he said happily with tears streaming down his cheeks. The other sibling had no emotion, mercilessly striking Thanatos down with his two-handed blade.

"It's been a long time, Akira. It's unfortunate we had to meet this way but you'll have to die." He smirked as his gunbai materialized into a black obsidian katana. His name turned from Empheral to Izuna Sakai, Wielder of the Eyes of Prophecy. Level 85.


"B-but why? Work with us! We can get out of here Izuna!" he shouted to his sibling. "It's a little too late for that little bro...." Izuna said as he shot a ocean of yellow flame at Thanatos. Thanatos quickly maneuvered and countered with a barrage of black flame.



Thanatos had trouble understanding what was going on. He quivered in fear as soon as the flames dispersed, evening out each other. "I-I don't understand." He started weeping silently staring at the man he once knew as his brother. "Show me what you guys got....especially you little bro." His katana was pointed at Thanatos, an evil smirk dawned upon his face.

Wolfblade had was being filled with different emotion going though his mind. Wolfblade stood up as he took a deep breath. He didn't know what was going on. The boss ended up turning to be Thanatos brother. Does the make Thanatos a enemy now? As Wolfblade looks up he see's Izuna give thanatos a smirk as he pointed his katana at him. Just then anger started to bubble up in Wolfblade. He then grabbed his blade and slashing the ground as the blade turned back to the way it was. Wolfblade didn't know what was getting over him, but he knew what he wanted to do now. Mana starting to spin around Wolfblade as his right eye was now being shown there the darkness of his cloak. A notification bar was sent to everyone as it said, Sage of Divinity level 2 activated. Wolfblade eye then charaged just like his physical strength, speed, stamina, reflexes, perception and durability dramatically increased. Wolfblade then dashed in front of thanatos. His speed was so fast that it looked like he teleported in front of him. HE then took a glace at thanatos as he let out a little breath. "It's alright now. I'll take care of the rest." HE then looked toward Izuna as his Eye was staring at him full of anger, Wolfblade still unsure why he was.


Izuna Smirked turned to a Sirius look as Wolfblade was now standing in front of him, His sage of Divinity clearly shown through the shadows looking at him him. Izuna started to laugh as he looks toward wolfblade. I would love to chat with you, but this isn't the right time or place. Izuna then chagered toward Wolfblade. Wolfblade followed along and dashed at Izuna also. What happened next happened so fast, Wolfblade and Izuna were slashing at each other one after another. Izuna health bar was dropping fast then Wolfblade's,but wolfblade health was dropping also.
