Cali Blake

A Skater Girl with a big nerve, short temper, and unwillingness to be with other people

0 · 313 views · located in Tolerance Camp

a character in “Tolerance Camp”, as played by CompletelyCreative

Description

NAME: Cali Blake

NICKNAME: Cal

AGE: 16, 17 in 2 weeks

LIKES: Skating, Music, Time Alone, Writing (Little known like)

DISLIKES: The Mean Girls, The idea of "Love" and romance, crowded rooms/places, Ignorant/Selfish people

HOBBIES: Skating, Playing the Guitar, Reading (little known hobby), Working at local skate store

FEARS: Heights, Commitment, Being completely ignored (by her friends)

PERSONALITY: Cali Blake has got her priorities sorted out. She's a rough kid, not afraid to get down and dirty, and not afraid to fight who ever challenges her. She's got a temper that flares like a matchstick, and doesn't tolerate people who are unfairly mean, ignorant, or don't accept the fact that they might be wrong. She's street-smart, knowing where, and more importantly, where NOT to go in town.
Cal has got an interest in music, more specifically rock, and likes to play the guitar when she's not out at the skatepark. She also likes to pick up a pen or book every once and while, but this is a little known hobby/like of hers. She's mostly seen with her small group of friends at school or the park, or picking a fight with a Mean Girl or a Jock.

HISTORY: Cali has two older brothers, a reason for why she's so tough, but that's practically all she has. Her parents once went on a "vacation" when she was very little, and they never came back. When asked about it, she tells a brief, un-detailed and blunt story, and finishes it off with "We were never that close anyway." Her two older brothers, Jimmy and Deane, took care of her from then on. In the brief time when they both were at college, she stayed by herself and with her 2nd cousin, of whom she now doesn't even remember the name of. Now Jimmy is often on business trips, having landed a stable job as a lawyer, and Deane is checking up on her every so often, being on the road as well. They send some of their money to her every week so she can pay mortgage of their small home, and everything is now well with her family.
But there is also a reason Cali doesn't believe in love. When she was 15 going on 16, she met someone at the skate park. His name was Mickey. They instantly became friends, and soon they started going out. Cali was infatuated with him, thinking of him every day and night, smiling whenever she thought of him. Soon enough, she was in love. She was happy. He seemed to act happy too, and she believed all of it, up until the day he saw her riding up on another girl, a then-senior prep. He sneered at her when she saw, and she never spoke to him again. This changed her. Changed the way she thought of the word "Love." She never smiled when she heard the word again, but more curled her lip in distaste. From that experience, she set her mind on one thing: Love isn't real.
But Now, Cal is settled. She's settled with her music, her skating, her family, and she's settled with her thoughts. Right now, one could even say Cali is happy.

So begins...

Mikha'el smiled some when she accepted the offer. Once out of the cabin, Lilliana asked what his Bible verse was. "Well, I would have to say 1 Corinthians 13: 13. It sums up how a Christian should act." He also remembered another question. "Oh, and the reason I keep both Bibles around is so I can use them as references. Most people will be familiar with the KJV, so I will often cite it while having the CJB for personal reading, since it goes more in depth about the Jewish origins."

At the baseball diamond, some of the people already there noticed him and blocked passage to him. “Is there something wrong, gentlemen? I am merely going to play ball with a lady, here.”

One of the jocks told him in response, “This is jock territory. Besides, a nerd can’t play ball.”

This made Mikha’el smirk. “Do not even the pagans behave like you are behaving? Besides, I am not your stereotypical ‘nerd’, now, am I? I bet I can pitch just as well as any ball player.”

“Prove it!”

“With pleasure.” Mikha'el was given the ball and the pitcher's mitt so he could throw one pitch to the guy currently at the plate. He took a moment to figure out which pitch he wanted to do, then decided he would surprise everybody with his fastball. There was the wind up, the pitch, and the ball went up to 97 miles an hour to the catcher. It was an easy Strike! The crowd's jaws dropped.

After that, they let Mikha'el pitch to Lilliana. Sometimes, he would do a curveball to the corner, while some of his throws were fastballs or knuckleballs. Whether the girl hit any of them or not, the history geek would not make it easy.

The two were so preoccupied with baseball, Mikha'el did not notice it the time until it was close to time for the campfire. "I think we should get going, Lilliana." He walked with her to the fire where everyone was supposed to be and told the circle, "Sorry we're late."

Olivia sat next to Skylar and their hands were intertwined. She glared at most people but then scrolled on her phone, checking her social networking sites and texting some of her friends.

Echo followed behind Cali and Trevor, coming in as the last person. Kamil hadn't seen his black eye so he was kind of apprehensive to show her. Lilliana and Mikha'el had come in not to long ago and they were now sitting together. He didn't say a word when he saw Cali, he just walked away from her and sat down.

Lilliana had lots of fun playing baseball. She hit most of the pitches he threw but even a well trained jock like her couldn't hit everyone of the pitches. When they were finished they made their way to the campfire. Lilliana still had that smile on her face and then looked over to Mikha'el. "Would you mind if I sat with you?" She asked, looking around the campfire, seeing many familiar faces.

Audry froze in place when Echo stated that he was the prankster. She tried to say something, but nothing came out of her mouth. For a second she even forgot about the itches. Now what? She doesn't know Echo very well, but she had often witnessed his moments of anger. How would he react if she ruined the prank by telling everyone about it? She wondered which flaw posessed her more - cowardness or selfishness. Would she really abort the warnings just because she was afraid?

Maybe she should think about it later, as it was time for the campfire. Her mood lightened up a little when she saw Lily and Mikha'el. The girl sat next to them.

"Hey, how are you doing?" She asked them with a light smile on her face. Also, the itches became more endurable, even though she was still scratching. For a moment she wondered where was Matthew and if Micah was already here.

She was still scratching... She might raise suspicions with this, which would cause al least some people to wonder what happened. However she might tell Mikha'el and Lily about this and they would give her advice. Maybe Mikha'el saw the text message sent by Audry. For now she decided to stay at the campfire and tell them later while trying not to scratch herself every ten seconds.

Trevor Braybrooke

Trevor made his way over towards one of the empty benches and sat down before glancing at the fire. His stomach growled as he smelled the scent of the hot dogs and the s'mores that the campers were already beginning to eat. He stood up from the bench and headed over towards the hot dogs and began making himself one to eat before he made a s'more. Even though he was craving one right now, he still needed to eat an actual meal before eating sweets.

Serenity Gonzalez

Serenity looked up to Jessica as she stood and turned towards her and Jayce to ask them if they'd like a s'more. She sighed and nodded her head, "Yeah, I suppose I could go for one." With her now sitting beside Jayce, she felt her temperature begin to rise from nervousness. She didn't want to say or do anything to make everyone focus on the two of them. After all, back at school they already had enough people talking about their relationship and break up, she didn't need anyone talking about or watching them start fighting/arguing again. If it weren't for the simple fact that she felt uncomfortable around Jayce, she wouldn't mind trying to be friends with him still.

Jayce Sinclair

Jayce shook his head at Jessica's offer, "No thanks." He looked over at Serenity with his pale blue hues and smiled. She was still just as beautiful as he remembered. He just wished she would give him the time to actually speak to her to find out just why she won't even speak to him. But he just returned his attention back to Jessica and removed those thoughts from his head. He'd worry about that later, now wasn't the time as the entire camp was around.
