Mikha'el Kravitz

"Oh, really? I can site a few historical events to the contrary!"

0 · 311 views · located in Tolerance Camp

a character in “Tolerance Camp”, as played by ZacharyTC

Description

Name:

Mikha'el Kravitz

Nickname:
Michael ("It's easier for people to pronounce, so I let it slide; basically the same thing, anyway.")
Mike

Age:
18

Role:
Nerd (mainly because of his knowledge of history; he can interact with others well enough, but is usually sassy and rude when it comes to history's controversy surrounding it)

Likes:
God
Yeshua (Jesus)
History
Baseball
Art
Music
Riding his Bicycle (where he can)

Dislikes:
Anti-Religious Bull Crap
Violence (He sees it as a sign of weakness)
Shellfish
Apple Juice or Cider ("The... medical problems... are not worth it.")

Hobbies:
reading, Writing, Drawing, Exercising

Fears:
Stingers
Spiders
Losing somebody

Personality:
Mikha'el is one of those people whom can be friendly and polite, or rude and sassy, depending on the situation. It is during debates that his sassy side comes into the light. He will use sarcasm, insults, anything at his disposal to prove a point. This sassy side of him is quite often at work when he talks to people from different cliques, and they just brush him off, to which he will often say, "Do not even pagans do what you are doing? Get a life." Being the headstrong young man, he is, Mike typically does not give up, in spite of the odds. Flaws aside, Mikha'el is honestly a sensitive and caring person, more than willing to lend a hand when necessary. Loyal, compassionate, and gentlemanly, he is easily approachable, so long as you show the same degree of respect to him. Were he to be in a relationship, he will remain heavily loyal while balancing that with his faith in God. He is also a history geek (or nerd, depending on the word usage) that is highly intelligent.

History:
There is not much to tell, honestly: Mikha'el came from a lower-middle class family devoted to Messianic Judaism, a Judeo-Christian faith he picked up on by himself. He has read more than a few books of the Bible and is in the process of reading through the whole thing. Growing up, he learned to appreciate the smaller things in life and not worry all that much on what to wear and such. Of course, he has also been through plenty of debates. Some, he won, some he lost, while the others (which is the majority) were a tie. His sassiness and rudeness in such scenarios often led him to the principal's office. Staff hopes summer camp will humble him some.

Other:
Mikha'el will often wear a Star of David and carry a pocket KJV, as well as a CJB (Complete Jewish Bible).

So begins...

Serenity grew highly agitated quite quickly after finding that another skater stepped inside the cabin. So before she was able to start unpacking, she decided that it would be best if she made her way for one of the empty cabins that nobody had claimed yet. She lifted her bags back up into her hands then left the cabin, slamming the door behind her.
After making her way to the other empty cabin, she opened the door and carried her things inside, claiming one of the beds by the far window and began unpacking her things. Hopefully this summer would go by faster than planned and she hoped deep down that Jessica wouldn't be too late. Jessica was the only one she claimed as a true friend. Of course she loved being around Olivia, but part of her couldn't get this idea out of her head that Olivia didn't like her to begin with. Whatever it was she didn't care at this point. All she wanted was to be out of this camp and back in her own bed with her laptop and great cell service.
Nobody knew that she played online RPGs on her laptop. If anyone did find out she'd be bumped down into the clique of nerds. Although she never seemed to have any big problems with the nerds, that still wasn't a place she wanted to be. Being in one of the top cliques in the school was great because there weren't many people who would mess with them. Of course everyone tends to talk bad about them, but she never seemed to care about that because as long as she knew who she was that was all that really mattered to her.

CALI BLAKE

Image

Cali grinned as she rested her hands behind her head, sitting on the floor. Although the time to pull their prank was limited, she had managed to cleanly sprinkle the powder evenly over the bunks apart from their own. However, the footsteps and soft sigh of a now frosty Prep caused her to jump and spill the last remaining bit of powder on the floor, so she sat down on it as quickly as she could, making sure not to have skin contact with her. Luckily, the Prep was oblivious, and Ming ran in right after her, grinning as well.

"Why hello there," Cali said loudly, winking at Ming and making a big point of "some one else is here and I got everything done but I spilled some powder" to her. She patted the floor next to her, inviting Ming to sit down next to her, and gave a wicked smile. She leaned in to say something, but was interrupted by a....

SLAM

Cali shot her eyes up to see the door to the small cabin shaking, and Frosty the Prepman nowhere in sight anymore. The girl must have seen Ming come in and had had enough. She made a mock face, pouting her lips in "sadness."

"Awe... Frosty, come back!" She reached her arms out to the door like a little child reaching for their mother, and started laughing. Either way, that girl was in for a treat... er, trick... tonight.

Serenity began unpacking her things, placing her clothes in the chest at the foot of her bed along with all of her makeup supplies. After closing the chest, she placed her backpack with all of her art supplies and her secretly stashed teddy bear. The brunette hung a couple pictures up on the wall of her with her deceased twin sister and another of her entire family along with her father in his army uniform just over her bed before opening the window as it was getting slightly muggy inside the cabin.

Mikha'el remained silent the whole trip, reading a copy of To Kill a Mockingbird while tuning out the noise of the crowd on the bus. He realized he would not have access to his personal library he had assembled back home, so he brought with him some of his more cherished and used books, including a Kosher cookbook, in case he had to make anything, himself. Of course, he heard plenty of vegetarian dishes would be available, so should all else not be an option, he could go with that, plus the dairy. Once the bus stopped, he got off.

It was the first day, and already people around him were getting into disputes. Among them, Matthew and Skylar. There was one particular gal he supposedly had an argument with (he did not remember talking about the origins of a certain saying; if he did, he would not be able to recall), whom he intended to apologize to, yet never had the opportunity. Mikha'el will admit: he does get too fiery in debates for his own good. He prays daily to God for assistance in being more calm about stuff like that.

At the cabin, he decided to set up everything he had and grab a bunk. Setting his sleeping bag and pillow in their places, and considering he was pretty much ignored, for the moment, he decided to catch up on his reading of the Book of Psalms, using one of two Bibles he brought with him, the KJV and the CJB. He wondered if anyone celebrated Shabbat on Friday evenings and Saturdays like he did, making a note to find people who did so he would not do so alone.

After she finished unpacking she quickly changed into her zebra print bikini and rushed out towards the empty lake. Seeing as how it was a very hot day and she needed a place to relax and cool off she thought it would be nice to go for a swim. Because of her huge fear of drowning, she only went out as far as she could with being able to touch the ground. The brunette smiled warmly as she felt the cold water against her skin, it felt really nice seeing as how the heat was almost unbearable. At this point she was surprised there weren't any others out in the lake but either way she enjoyed being alone for a little while.

ImageEcho finally calmed down after about an hour. He made his way down the tree and checked his watch, seeing that it was about an hour till the campfire. He wanted to go check on Cali and he didn't care anymore if Korbin was near her. His own bruise was forming and his eye was swelling slightly. He was going to have a pretty black and blue eye and cheek. As he made his way down to the cabins, he grabbed a first aid kit out of the bus after picking the lock. He walked up to the cabin and saw a sleeping figure in the bed. He walked over and sat on the bed that seemed to be Ming's. He looked at Cali's face. It had an innocent look but he knew it could be mischievous. He slightly nudged her. "Hey. Hey Cal." He called, trying to wake her so he could try and dress her possible concussion.

ImageLilliana had parted from Audry and was walking around the camp. She was bored. She wanted to play a game so now she was headed to the boy's cabin to see if Skylar wanted to go play basketball or football. She entered the cabin and saw a young man lying on the top of a bunk reading. She didn't really know who it was but that wasn't going to fight off her curiosity. As she thought about it, she remembered the boy's name was Mikha'el. She approached the bunk then stood on the lower one, her head poking up as she spoke. "What ya reading?" She inquired, her eyes looking at the book.

Mikha'el heard a voice next to him, a feminine one. Well, it is not curfew, so... Looking to the side, he saw a head poking up, Lilliana's. He had seen her around school, before, thus was familiar with her. "Oh, the Book of Psalms in the Old Testament. I have a lot of the Bible to catch up on. The particular version I am reading is the Complete Jewish Bible. It was translated by a Jew whom was and is also a Christian, so I get the Jewishness of Christianity from this, in a way." Closing the CJB, he put it up and climbed down. "How about we play a bit of soccer or basketball, or maybe baseball? I'm sure you probably do not want to be bored by the lectures of a history geek."

Now, he may be considered a nerd, yet if he wanted to, he could pass for a jock due to his skill in and enthusiasm for baseball. The reason he hung around with the nerds was because he felt more at home discussing intellectual matters, such as philosophy and, his favorite topic, history. Besides, he would have made for one stuck up jock since his morals and how he conducted himself were... strict. He doubted people would enjoy that side of him, so once invited to hang around with the nerds, he was happy to oblige. Yet, he was not content to merely stick to the particular group people now classify him with. As someone whom dislikes clique conflicts, he will often make conversation with people besides nerds so that the message would be clear he is not one for the status quo.

Ming grinned, before glancing up at the sky and seeing the slight red hue it had taken due to the setting sun. It wasn't to surprising seeing as they had arrived sometime around noon and it had been a few hours since then... Thinking about, she had never taken her bag out of the buses luggage compartment...

Her eyes widened slightly as this development, "Hay Kam, I just remember something I really need to do but I will see you at the bonfire, Kay? Save me a seat!" She yelled as she began to back track up the path they had come down or ender the forest. She was totally screwed if that damn bus had already left...

Making her way back towards they cabins, she screeched round the corner and run straight for her bed in hopes of grabbing her skateboard and making the journey back towards the bus that many times faster. Entering, she barely spared a glance towards Echo and a sleeping cal, except when she stopped at the door and peered back at the other half of her latest OTP. Giving him a sly look, "Creeper." Was all she said before she was throwing down her board and making her way back towards the drop of area.

Arriving there was only one though in her mind as she saw the absence of the big bus that had gotten them all here... "I am so screwed..." She muttered aloud, staring, shellshocked, at the stop where the bus had been and now where it had vanished, along with her precious bag of funky hats and manga. Oh, and cloths as well but they went as important as the fact that she no longer had any hats!

"Dear God WHYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!" She screamed the last word, not really caring that it echoed all over the camp and was probably audible to everyone. Her hats were gone! It was official, God hated her.

Kamil nodded to Ming as she left and sighed softly. She didn't much want to leave the forest yet, for once in her life she didn't want to face Echo when she got back to camp, she wasn't sure what he'd say, or if he'd be angry or not. She looked down as she walked until she found herself at a large tree, she must have made it pretty far into the forest for the tree's to have gotten so big. She decided she'd rest her legs here then head back once she was ready. She sat down on the bumpy ground at the base of the tree and rested her back against it, closing her eyes she listened to the calming chirp of the birds, the smell of pine and oak, the soft summer breeze... needless to say she fell asleep.

ImageEcho set the first aid kit on the bed and started opening it. He heard her start talking about Ming and something about bags then heard her mention Korbin and stating that she wasn't angry at him. He didn't speak for a small amount of time. Afraid of what her reaction would be. "So are you mad at me then?" He was confused right now and didn't know what would happen but he knew that he wanted to help her and spending the rest of the summer camp with a concussion that's not treated would not be good for her.

Image

ImageLilliana looked up at him then smiled. "So why do you carry both of them?" She inquired then perked up when he mentioned baseball. "Baseball? You want to play a game with me?" She was surprised that someone that was in the nerd clique wanted to play a jock like game. She smiled yet again, almost making her look like an airhead. "I'd love to play baseball with you." As they made their way out of the cabin she had to question him. "So what is your favorite bible verse?"

Audry was in her bunk, drawing. With care and hard work she was portraying an armoured dwarf riding a hippogriff. Should she make a story about that? Should she add more characters? How was she going to develop them during the story?

While sitting somewhere, Audry usually moves a lot. This caused major dishevelation of her bed cover.

"This is getting uncomfortable." She thought and stood up. While making her bed Audry was scratching her hands from time to time. This was weird. The fact that there was something under the covers made it even weirder.

"What is this?" She asked herself while still scratching her arms. Normally her brother would be the first one to pop in her mind when something similar happened to her. However, he didn't know where was her bunk. There wasn't really time for him to do it either. It probably wasn't a prank for her directly... so the other beds must be unsafe too!

"Just as I thought..." Audry whispered to herself while checking one of the other beds. She checked out the rest of the beds in the bunk too.

She had to set things right. She took her cellphone and texted Matthew, Micah and Mikha'el to check for powder under the covers and not to touch it. Lily was her roommate, so Audry could take care of this without texting her. She didn't have the phone number of anyone else, so she couldn't warn them quickly.

For some time Audry was trying to clear the beds off the powder. In the process she managed to get more of it on her. The itches were barely tolerable, but she had to do it! She had to save the others from it!

Audry ran to one of the other bunks. She knew completely well that she could find Rachel and receive a few insults, but Audry could pay this price for saving a few students from hurrendous itching.

The girl knocked on Cali and Ming's bunk, waiting for response while still scratching.

Kamil continued sleep as she sat back against the tree as the day turned into dusk. The day had been exhausting for her. But now her sleep wasn't restful, she was plagued with nightmares of being left, her grandmother dies, then Echo decides he doesn't want to be around her anymore because he likes Cali, then Ming says she's no more fun, she's all alone... five again, caught in the crossfire of her parents arguments, she covered her ears and screamed in the dream. In the real world Kamil's sleeping face was contorted in pain and sorrow and she let out a soft whimper of fear.

Jessica smiled at Serenity, nodding her head in agreement as they reached the cabins. She slipped in and set her stuff down on an empty bed and walked back out with Serenity, not paying any attention to anyone who may have been in the cabin. She was about to answer her friend's question about camp activities, but the loud speakers crackled cutting her off.
"Attention Campers. The campfire will begin shortly, please make your way to the campfire site down by the lake. This is a mandatory camp activity, everyone must attend" A male's voice said, the loud speakers crackling once more before going silent. "Well, guess that answers that question." Jessica said, "Wanna head down there now?" She asked.

Image
ImageMicah slipped into the woods, glancing around for a comfortable place to play his game, but the sound of a girl's whimper drew his attention. He walked through the woods, closer to the sound. Finally he reached the girl, sleeping under a tree, seeming to be having a bad dream. He knew he'd seen the black and blue haired girl around, mainly with Echo, but he at the moment, her name escaped him. He hesitated just a moment before reaching out to shake her gently. "Hey, wake up, you're having a bad dream." He said, somewhat lamely, but didn't know what else to do. He heard the announcement come over the loud speakers in the main camp area, but he wasn't just going to leave the girl here to suffer in her nightmare.

Mikha'el smiled some when she accepted the offer. Once out of the cabin, Lilliana asked what his Bible verse was. "Well, I would have to say 1 Corinthians 13: 13. It sums up how a Christian should act." He also remembered another question. "Oh, and the reason I keep both Bibles around is so I can use them as references. Most people will be familiar with the KJV, so I will often cite it while having the CJB for personal reading, since it goes more in depth about the Jewish origins."

At the baseball diamond, some of the people already there noticed him and blocked passage to him. “Is there something wrong, gentlemen? I am merely going to play ball with a lady, here.”

One of the jocks told him in response, “This is jock territory. Besides, a nerd can’t play ball.”

This made Mikha’el smirk. “Do not even the pagans behave like you are behaving? Besides, I am not your stereotypical ‘nerd’, now, am I? I bet I can pitch just as well as any ball player.”

“Prove it!”

“With pleasure.” Mikha'el was given the ball and the pitcher's mitt so he could throw one pitch to the guy currently at the plate. He took a moment to figure out which pitch he wanted to do, then decided he would surprise everybody with his fastball. There was the wind up, the pitch, and the ball went up to 97 miles an hour to the catcher. It was an easy Strike! The crowd's jaws dropped.

After that, they let Mikha'el pitch to Lilliana. Sometimes, he would do a curveball to the corner, while some of his throws were fastballs or knuckleballs. Whether the girl hit any of them or not, the history geek would not make it easy.

The two were so preoccupied with baseball, Mikha'el did not notice it the time until it was close to time for the campfire. "I think we should get going, Lilliana." He walked with her to the fire where everyone was supposed to be and told the circle, "Sorry we're late."

Olivia sat next to Skylar and their hands were intertwined. She glared at most people but then scrolled on her phone, checking her social networking sites and texting some of her friends.

Echo followed behind Cali and Trevor, coming in as the last person. Kamil hadn't seen his black eye so he was kind of apprehensive to show her. Lilliana and Mikha'el had come in not to long ago and they were now sitting together. He didn't say a word when he saw Cali, he just walked away from her and sat down.

Lilliana had lots of fun playing baseball. She hit most of the pitches he threw but even a well trained jock like her couldn't hit everyone of the pitches. When they were finished they made their way to the campfire. Lilliana still had that smile on her face and then looked over to Mikha'el. "Would you mind if I sat with you?" She asked, looking around the campfire, seeing many familiar faces.

Audry froze in place when Echo stated that he was the prankster. She tried to say something, but nothing came out of her mouth. For a second she even forgot about the itches. Now what? She doesn't know Echo very well, but she had often witnessed his moments of anger. How would he react if she ruined the prank by telling everyone about it? She wondered which flaw posessed her more - cowardness or selfishness. Would she really abort the warnings just because she was afraid?

Maybe she should think about it later, as it was time for the campfire. Her mood lightened up a little when she saw Lily and Mikha'el. The girl sat next to them.

"Hey, how are you doing?" She asked them with a light smile on her face. Also, the itches became more endurable, even though she was still scratching. For a moment she wondered where was Matthew and if Micah was already here.

She was still scratching... She might raise suspicions with this, which would cause al least some people to wonder what happened. However she might tell Mikha'el and Lily about this and they would give her advice. Maybe Mikha'el saw the text message sent by Audry. For now she decided to stay at the campfire and tell them later while trying not to scratch herself every ten seconds.
