Training for Deception

Training for Deception

It isn't a life you choose, but a life that you are chosen for. Agents? We are. Mistakes? We are not.

1,130 readers have visited Training for Deception since Gabriella created it.

Introduction

What happens when your forced to pretend to love and live with someone whom you have never met? All for a single mission, you allow your life to take on an unpredictable roller coaster ride. Seems hardly fair, but in this world, nothing is fair.

It isn't a life you choose, but a life that you are chosen for. Anyone from ages ten to fifteen, young enough to learn foreign languages, young enough to train your body and mind until you literally grow into the perfect agent. When you turn eighteen, however, that is when the field work starts, ranging from one extreme to another. Assassinations, re-con, months undercover pretending to be someone you're not. Whatever it is that you get assigned to, however, you're never going to be as prepared as they promise you'll be. If you're extremely lucky, you'll be assigned to a partner early on. Someone who will know you better than you know yourself. Someone who will go to hell and back with you, and expect the same in return. Retirement? Well, they don't talk about that very often. It's rare anyone lives long enough to quit. And, with all the post-traumatic-stress-disorder, you probably won't want to anyway.

Your Job
You will either be playing a male, half of a two-man team, or a female, apart of my own characters team. Whoever else I pick, will be your partner. Even though our two teams have never met, things are about to get seriously messy. Your partner, for this mission, will not be the person that knows you better than you know yourself, nor the person who would go [and has gone] to hell and back with you. Your partner, for this mission, will be one of the opposite sex.

Image
The mission is relatively simple, or it seems to be. A new suburb for those with too much money for their own good has just been built in California. The men who have made their homes here are powerful, not because of their brains or brawn, but rather the money that they possess. Their wives are ex-models and actresses, settled down to start families with the men [and the men's wallets] that they love so dearly. It is a gated community, absolutely beautiful, and absolutely deadly.

Most of the men [not all, but most] are suspected of belonging to a secret… club, of sorts. What perks come from this club? Assassins for hire, drugs, changes to permanent records, you name it. The kinds of things that only the Agency should be able to do, and that is why it has to be stopped. How?
By getting on the inside. This, we will have to be creative with. The point is that we'll be going under cover as two newlywed couples who just happened to be moving in next door to each other. Thank goodness you're a well trained actor, because this mission could take months to complete. In that time, we will be pretending to be madly in love, just a normal, wealthy couple thinking of starting a family. We have to be trusted, we have to fit in, and we can not be discovered.

As for romance, it is strictly forbidden among agents [who live relatively celibate lives, except for the rare occasion where the mission calls for a little 'something something']. Awful, but it has been known to happen, and we are world-class actors, liars, and spies. The problem? This isn't just acting, for a moment. This is long term, day after day after day of pretending to be married. Living together, sleeping in the same bed. We have to convince everyone around us that we are actually in love. And with missions like this, we might just cross that line.

In the midst of this risky mission, new dangers are brought about that will force you to risk your life for someone whom you have barely known. No matter of your feelings toward that person, whether it be hatred, or even possibly love [the real kind] your top priority is this mission, and then, keeping your partner alive.

~

  • I am looking for this roleplay to carry on, I have thought up events that will help this continue, so, please do not disappear.
  • Good grammar/spelling
  • Maturity when it comes to drinking, swearing, violence, sex. (Adhere to the forum rules, there will be no graphic sex... fade it to black, or take it to pm.)
  • At least try to be active in the OOC, the roleplay tends to die quicker when you aren't just chatting about random shit in the OOC. Sounds stupid, I know.
  • Message me if you will be gone longer than 4 days.
  • I expect 3 paragraphs at least, with the occasional of less, such as dialogue. I usually would require the person's interacting together to complete their dialogue within a private area and then complete it as a single post, but being there will only be the four of us, I don't care if you post them in the form as spam. If you have a problem with this, let me know, and I will make it that you must make it as a single post. I am more leniant with this roleplay, since I wish this to be easygoing and just simply fun.

Scarlett rested her head against the window, letting the vibration of the car distract her from the tension between her and Roman; though soon, a sudden voice seemed to shatter her empty thought bubbles. Scarlett looked at Roman, whose eyes were glued to the scenery playing through the window. “Well, lucky for you, I’m a heavy sleeper, so you won’t have to worry about the fact that I’m not much of an early morning person,” she said, not giving any pity, when in fact she knew how inconvenient it would be to have an affliction such as that.

Scarlett fought the urge to rub her eyes and smear her eye makeup. She was used to wearing makeup- just not this much. “I don’t know what you have to mope about, you’re not the one who has to keep this up,’ she said plainly, staring into a small compact mirror at the false eyelashes that tickled her skin every time she blinked. Not only was she talking about the makeup, but about the dresses, the heels, the endless smiling… Acting the part would be easy, but it sure wouldn’t be fun.

When the car finally slowed at the airport’s main entrance, and then stopped, Scarlett muttered in encouragement, mostly to herself “Here goes nothing,” before exiting the car and giving the driver a friendly nod in response to opening her door. The driver quickly went around back to the popped trunk to unload the luggage.

Fancy, Scarlett thought as the man rested down a Louis Vuitton duffle bag and a matching suitcase.

No, but I do have to put up with you Roman thought, but he said nothing and just gave her a blank look instead. He kept his face stony to hide the distaste that he had within him. He didn't want to start an argument. He was relieved when they reached the airport, he exited the vehicle, slipping into character. He was no longer Roman Atkins, but Alex Cross. He allowed his lips to pull into a warm smile. He wasn't really use to smiling, but he was going to have to. He grabbed Scarlett's petite hand nonchalantly then squeezed it gently. He flashed her a smile that would fool anyone, but her of course. He grabbed their luggage then offered her his arm, "Shall we?" He grinned lightheartedly.

Jason took a seat next to Madison in the taxi and noticed her sudden change in demeanor, it seemed she had now turned into Elizabeth, leaving the IT enthusiast Madison, behind.

As the car started moving he felt he had actually been pretty lucky with the partner that had been chosen for him, she seemed like the kind of person that wouldn't make too big a fuss over the little things and not create too much drama, and as long as the two of them did their jobs and gave each other enough space, Jason thought this would probably work out fine. Of course, he wasn't exactly flawless, what with his bipolarity, but he knew how to handle it, and he believed he would be able to care of his mood swings.

"Wonder how Rome's taking this, he had a pretty painful look on his face earlier..." he thought while stretching his limbs as best he could in the limited space of his car seat. "Why would the Agency match a woman like her with a man like him anyways?"

To Jason it seemed pretty dumb that they would put two people with such different personalities together as partners. Though he knew agents were expected to succeed with whatever mission they were given, and usually did so too, it seemed like bad decisionmaking on the institute's side.

The trip to the airport was mostly quiet, and when the taxi which they travelled in stopped outside, Jason, who was now Gregory, only sent a quick smile towards Elizabeth before exiting through the door on his side and walking around the vehicle to open the one on his "wife's" side.

Jason seemed to be okay with the situation, so Madison didn't see any reason to be nervous. It was her first assignment but she'd never failed at anything before, and didn't plan on starting now. The only thing she was worried out--slightly, mind you--was Jason's bipolarism. Her research indicated that he had the disorder well in control, but Madison couldn't help but be a bit concerned.

She twisted the lipstick in her fingers, pulling the cap on and off absently. She'd seen the agency's notes on this mission (she wasn't authorized to have access to the private details, but that hadn't stopped her. She was a hacker, after all) and independently speaking, her and Scarlet had been the best female team available for the job while Jason and Roman had been the best male team available. Separately, both teams guaranteed success... working together? Not so much. The main reason they'd put Scarlett with Roman was because Scarlett needed someone easygoing, like Madison, and Roman had been the closest fit. On the other hand, Jason had also needed the female equivalent of Roman which was where Madison came in; there was no one easier to get along with than the Korean descendant.

Her musings were cut short as the cab came to a screeching half. Madison frowned at the harsh braking and stuffed her make up back into the purse, untouched. She was about to open the door herself, but realized that Jason--er, Greg--had already made the first move. "I could get used to this," Elizabeth murmured, slipping her hand into Greg's and sliding out of the car. She held her handbag in the crook of her elbow as delicately as anyone could please, balancing perfectly on her heels. "Thank you, honey." She took her sunglasses out of her purse and slipped them over her eyes. "I really need some coffee," she declared, squeezing Greg's hand and gesturing towards Roman and Scarlett who had just gotten out of their own car. "Shall we find a Starbucks? I don't think there would be anything gourmet in the airport."

Scarlett automatically curled her arm through Roman’s, making sure to nod excitedly, as if she had been looking forward to this for months. And according to the story, Olivia had been waiting for months. Before approaching the automatic doors, Scarlett glanced back where Madison and Jason were, when she looked back, Scarlett was gone. The interior of the airport was loud. You could see numerous families, tanned, as if they just returned from somewhere hot. And they probably had, considering it was nearing the end of Spring break. After dropping their luggage off at the ‘luggage check in,’ Olivia pulled Alex into the security line that dispersed into three different sectors. They’d have just less than forty five minutes, but impatience didn’t fail to return, and Scarlett just wanted to get through- just as Olivia would.

Jason and Madison would catch up later.

Within the next few minutes of waiting in line was when she finally noticed the stares. Not so many that it would be as if they were celebrities, but enough to be obvious that the people were envious of them. Not only because the both of them were dressed and styled to perfection, and that they were already attractive, but because both of them were taken. Olivia giggled quietly, noticing a group of young girls who appeared to be heading home from some sort of tournament or competition, their eyes glued to Roman as if he were a celebrity. “Looks like you’ve got some fans,” Olivia whispered up at her husband before lightly tapping his stomach with the back of her hand.

Roman stood in line, checking his watch. It felt as if the world were moving in slow-motion. He didn't like it. Without thinking, his usual stony persona took over his body. His back was straight, his lips were pulled into a tight line, and his eyes were filled with a hardness that only a man that seen too much would be able to have.

"Looks like you've got some fans," 'Olivia's' voice caressed his ears. He looked down at her with a hint of confusion etched onto his face.

"Fans?" He said skeptically, following her eyes to the group of girls that were staring at him. He wasn't used to getting looks like that...well, he was, but he never really acknowledged them or thought much about it. He felt a tad awkward, but managed to give them a small wave as a kind gesture, but his face didn't convey anything remotely warm. Their responses surprised him. He could see the blush on their cheeks and hear the girly giggles. He bought his hand back down to his side and glanced at 'Olivia'. "That was...uh...weird, and I don't have time to worry about them" he shrugged. He noticed the line beginning to move and shifted his focused to the mission at hand. Women can wait...they'll be waiting a long time. he thought. He gave 'Olivia' a sideways look, "Let's go, the line is moving." He said gruffly.

"Certainly darling." Greg responded in a somewhat formal but yet enthusiastic and happy voice, squeezing the hand of his beloved Lizzy and starting to walk towards the door Alex and Olivia just passed through.

Jason led Madison Young, dressed as Mrs. Bennet through the door leading into the airport and thereafter to the nearest luggage check in. After dropping Elizabeth's and his own bags off, Greg's sight was drawn to the scene a short distance away. Seeing the look on Alex's face, Jason almost chuckled, as he understood how Roman Atkins would feel in the sort of situation he was put in, getting looks from a bypassing group of young girls, Gregory however, did not, and the chuckle was covered in a subtle cough.

Greg proceeded by turning to his wife. "Sorry darling, shall we?" he then asked the woman in front of him.

Scarlett’s initial reaction to the younger girls was to roll her eyes –Acting cute, didn’t make you cute- Instead, she had sucked it up and laughed as if she actually thought it were funny.

“You’re so boring,” She muttered in response, shuffling forward with the line. With three different stations, only one seemed to be moving at a consistent pace. Scarlett glanced at Roman, noticing a stiffness he always seemed to have- from what she knew, at least. “Oh don’t worry, honey, it’s just an airplane. You have nothing to be so nervous about,” she smiled at him with what looked like reassurance. May as well have a little fun with this. Scarlett could hear a faint chuckle from behind them. A scratchy voice followed after.

“First timer?” An elderly woman said to them with a kind smile.

“Yup! Ever since he watched that movie ‘Altitude,’ he’s had this fear of flying. But finally I convinced him that flying would be so much quicker than driving.” Scarlett said sweetly, speaking as if Roman hadn’t been standing right next to her.

“Men…” Scarlett heard the woman say before they were directed to the station at the far right. Before removing her watch, Scarlett glanced at the time. They still had forty five minutes before the plane would arrive, giving them enough time to do absolutely nothing.

With a warm smile, Roman nodded in agreement with his 'wife'. "What can I say?" He shrugged playfully. "I'm not one for being off ground." He placed his hand nonchalantly on the small of 'Olivia's back. He ushered them through the metal detectors and security until they were near the gate. He could feel the eyes of strangers burning into his shoulder blades, so he kept up the newly wed facade. He just had to remember to smile, walk, and acknowledge 'Olivia's existent. Easy enough, right? Wrong.

Being nonchalant took effort, more effort than Roman imagined. He was usually stoic, silent, and deadly...not loving or affectionate. Hell, the last time he'd ever been with a woman was when he was undercover in human trafficking and even then he barely got to second base because he didn't want to take advantage of the woman. He had morals. He had to be mindful of his stiff and straight posture, relaxing his shoulders and hunching a tad.

His gaze drifted to his new partner, taking his hand off of the small of her back. "The sooner this plane leaves, the better," he sighed, stuffing his large hands into the pockets of his trousers. He leaned against the wall and waited. His patience was wearing thin. He watched her, studying her face and posture. "Since we'll have to wait," he said. "It's best if we try to communicate. I'm not necessarily sure how to go about it, but I'll make an effort. I'll start off small, what are your hobbies?"

Slipping into her Mrs Bennet persona, Elizabeth laced her arm with Greg's and smiled demurely at him. "Yes. I'd like to beat the rush, please." The line for first class luggage booking was short, but they were still early and there was no guarantee it wouldn't lengthen at a moment's notice.

Taking care to keep herself balanced in her killer platforms, Madison tried not to lean too much on her husband, but found herself needing his support. Damn these heels... she desperately wanted her flats back.

As they made their way towards the flight station, Madison spotted a 'Coffee' sign blinking in the corner of her eye. Her grip on Jason's arm suddenly tightened and her steps slowed until she eventually came to a full stop. She hadn't had any coffee in hours... Airport coffee was usually something like sludge, but it still contained caffeine and Madison was a little bit addicted to the stuff. She looked up at Jason pleadingly, stepping towards the right and dragging him with her, request left unspoken but still translated strongly in her actions, luggage booking completely forgotten.

Greg responded to Elizabeth's subtle request with a low chuckle and followed her lead into the coffee shop. Jason thought this stop was an unnecessary detour on the way to their destination but he quickly came to the conclusion that if they went straight to the flight they'd just have to wait anyways, and neither Jason nor Greg would mind getting an extra dose of caffeine before takeoff.

The nicely dressed couple entered the medium-sized coffee shop and stopped behind the surprisingly short line. Jason turned his head to take a quick look around the area, and among these unfamiliar faces he spotted one, very familiar set of eyes, nose and mouth.

Anthony Taylor, when Jason spotted him reading a newspaper at a nearby table accompanied only by himself, an empty cup and a half-eaten croissant, it was like being brought back about 12 years in time, to the one awful year he had spent as a newly orphaned boy at "Moreu's Acting Academy". The now 26 years old, darkish brown-haired man had been Jason's biggest fear when they were both a few inches shorter. Unlike him, this ex-bully hadn't changed a lot appearence-wise, even keeping the old buzz cut of his.

After staring for about five seconds, Jason quickly turned his head back into a forward direction, this wasn't good, even though his facial features had changed with age more than those of his old acquaintance there was still a high probability that he might be recognized by the other man. There was a chance that there would be someone else heading to the same destination as the group currently present in the area Gregory and Elizabeth were in, and it certainly wouldn't be good for them to hear Greg getting called Jason.

This could've been easily solved by walking out of there, but as it happened to be, Anthony's seat was next to the entrance and he was rising out of his chair, possibly to get a refill.
"I'm going to the bathroom, I'll be right back." Jason said in a low, somewhat strained voice not at all resembling the one Gregory spoke with, to Madison, whereupon he instantly turned his back to her, and also Anthony.

Luckily the toilets were situated on the opposite side of the entrance and Jason went through the door without looking back, hoping that he had been correct about what actions the brown-haired man would take after standing up from his seat, and that he wouldn't be coming into the restroom he now found himself in.

He took out his phone and after a few seconds of frantically tapping the screen he had set up an account for Jason. The number for Madison's phone had already been added as a contact and he sent a message very briefly explaining the stiuation, hoping she would read it in time to send a helpful text back.

“Like I have time for hobbies...” Scarlett muttered. “Hm... Well, before shit got real, I enjoyed painting... drawing... Not really anything else,” Well, that was partly true. Whether anyone believed it or not, Scarlett enjoyed many things- she was just too stubborn to make her enjoyment known- like now.

“Now, let me guess,” Scarlett said, pretending to stroke a nonexistent beard as she stared at Roman as if she could see straight through him, “You don’t seem like much of a people person. You probably don’t like to lose either. So I’m guessing you’re into things with a challenge or are unpredictable? And you didn’t even give those younger girls a second glance. Do you even like females?” Scarlett said seriously, still trying to get some sort of emotion out of this detached man.

And she did enjoy pushing people’s buttons...

With crossed arms and a tapping foot, Scarlett waited. For something. Anything; whether Roman was the same or not, Scarlett didn’t like to lose either.

If Roman had to describe Scarlett from what he's seen, so far, he'd only have one word. Difficult. He remained where he was, stone faced and stiff. He listened to her speak, making a mental notes of her personality. He quirked an eyebrow, waiting a heartbeat or two before responding. Don't roll your eyes. Don't roll your eyes. Maintaining his blank stare, Roman answered: "First off, I'm not a 'people person'," he used his fingers to put air quotes around the word. "Not unless I have to be. Secondly, who in the world actually enjoys losing, think about it. Third, rudimentary feats are bromidic and lastly, if you're referring to my sexuality, I'm straight. However, I'm not interested in girls. I like women; classy women."

He rubbed his chin, mocking her previous gesture. "I believe it's my turn to make some observations," he said. "Judging by what I've witnessed, thus far, you like to get reactions out of people, be it positive or negative. I bet you hate not having control. You're don't have a submissive personality. You are opinionated for sure, and though you tend to receive rather negative feedback, you don't seem to give a damn. Am I right? If not, these are merely observations and things that I've noticed since I walked through the office's doors." Roman tilted his head slightly with his features frozen in a blank expression that conveyed absolutely nothing. Though he did allow his lip to twitch just a tad, revealing the faint smugness he felt.

Scarlett’s lips perked together like a child’s did when they were angry. Not because of Roman’s false judgement, but because that his ‘false judgement’ was actually pretty accurate- not that she would admit that. And considering that it was clear that he had zero interest in her, what was he referring to her as?

With a step forward, Scarlett finally replied:
“You have no idea what you’re talking about.”

Scarlett then retracted and instantly removed her irritated expression, mirroring the blank face of the man in front of her. She had never met someone who could frustrate her so easily, and now she had to live with him. It would have been so easy to simply walk away, search for some better company (which would be anyone but Roman). But even if the agency were only witnessing their current behaviours (or rather, her behaviours), it would be, even then, probable that the both of them would be suspended from this mission. And Scarlett couldn't afford any more negative feedback.

"Why were you even preferred for this mission? You're like a statue that voids absolutely any emotion whatsoever..." Scarlett said quietly and flippantly, again.

"I'm going to the bathroom, I'll be right back."

Greg's--no, sorry, Jason's voice sound strained and uneasy to Madison's ears, prompting her to turn around and fix him with a suspicious look. Uh oh, she thought to herself, assuming the worst. Was this one of his 'bipolar' incidents? But no, the agency wouldn't have assigned him to such a delicate mission if his personality was going to be doing jumping jacks every hour...

She shot a confused look at his retreating back but then realized how odd that might look and quickly switched it something less awkward and more 'understanding'. The line moved quickly, bringing her to the cashier at the same time as her phone beeped with a text message. "What can I get you?" The girl behind the register asked politely.

Madison--er, Elizabeth--glanced up at the menu. "One signature hot chocolate please," she ordered, pausing a moment to wonder how Jason would like his coffee. He hadn't told her anything before leaving abruptly so she decided to do one last Madison-y thing before she completely converted into Elizabeth Bennet. "Also, could I get one non-fat, half-caff, triple grande quarter sweet sugar free vanilla, non-fat lactaid, extra hot and extra foamy caramel macchiato? Please?" She quickly averted her eyes, trying not to giggle at the barista's stunned expression which quickly melted into something of annoyance. "My husband is very picky," Elizabeth said apologetically, handing over a twenty dollar bill. The girl looked irritated, but wrote their names--"Elizabeth and Greg Bennet, please,"-- on their Styrofoam mugs before handing her back the correct change. Madison dumped a few bills into the tip jar and moved to the side to wait for her order.

Okay, now that she'd just bought Greg some time, she could finally see what had made him high tail it out of here. She brought up his text and read it twice, just to make sure. So, yeah. This couldn't be a good omen for them--the first hour of this mission and they were already facing strange people from their pasts? Not good. "Oh my God," she muttered, scanning the coffee shop discreetly as she tried to spot the man who matched Jason's description of Anthony.

Unfortunately she did spot him, and at the worst possible location, too: right beside her. He'd gotten up to pick up his order from the counter and brought his carry-on with him, giving Madison an opportunity to glimpse the luggage-tag hanging off the handle. She swallowed, mentally running through a string of very colorful curses that would have made Scarlett proud. Madison turned away from the counter and began composing a text:

"Good news and bad news," she typed. "Good news is that he's not heading to the washroom, so you're in the clear... bad news is that he's on the same flight as us. 3 options: miss the flight, make him miss the flight, or risk it. Your call." Rescheduling wasn't a bad option, but then they'd be stuck here for hours and get split up from Scarlet and Roman, which wasn't something Madison was keen on. She could always hack into the airport's system and delete Anthony's booking, but she didn't have her laptop right now, having booked it off with the rest of their stuff to keep up appearances as a socialite because which trophy housewife carried a laptop instead of a Prada purse? God damn these rich people--if she wasn't pretending to be Elizabeth Bennet, she wouldn't think twice about 'borrowing' someone's laptop to fix this problem. Crap.

Jason wiped a few drops of sweat from his forehead with the sleeve of his suit jacket before bringing his phone up to read the text message he felt had arrived by the vibration of his pocket.

He let out a small sigh of relief when he read that Mr. Taylor was not heading towards him and hadn't recognized or seen him. The relief he felt was soon gone though as he read the part of the message where Anthony was on the same flight as him.

Jason scratched the back of his head, like he often did when he was stressed, thinking hard, or annoyed and wanted to hide it.
"3 options: miss the flight, make him miss the flight, or risk it."
The one that seemed like the most valid option to Jason at the time, was the second one. The other two, especially the latter, could cause problems for the group, and more importantly, jeopardize the mission.

He exited the stall he had entered as a means to hide from Anthony, were he to enter the restroom and walked up to the sink directly in front of him to wash his face with the cold water from the tap.

After thinking for a few minutes, he came up with an idea.
"Definitely the second one." he started typing. "If we stay here that might compromise the mission, if we go on that plane there's a fairly big chance he'll recognize me. Therefore, the second option should be plan A. I have an idea, and although it is risky, it could be worth a shot, unless you have something else in mind, that is. I'm pretty sure I spotted a briefcase-like bag of some sort sitting next to his table, possibly containing a laptop or something else of importance to him, something he wouldn't just leave in the first place. We could relieve him of this item."
The possibility existed, that Anthony would board the plane even if they succeeded in taking his carry-on baggage, and because of this, he doubted that the plan of his would work. Also, it would probably be pretty hard for the two of them to take his bag without getting noticed in an airport full of people with eyes and ears.

Roman's lip quirked slightly, displaying the faint amusement that he was currently feeling. He watched her lip form a rather...cute pout. He tilted his head a bit, another sign of amusement, but also interest. She was strong, he could admire that, but she was also too caustic and defensive for her own good. His ability to read people knew no bounds. Leaning his head against the wall, he simply watched her with an equally blank expression.

“You have no idea what you’re talking about.” She frowned, but Roman's eyes scanned her body, noting her posture, the faint twist in her lips, and the tensing of her muscles. He was right, about everything he said, he concluded. He almost laughed, it was like dealing with a child, but he managed to keep his face void of emotion. His poker face was practically impenetrable.

"Why were you even preferred for this mission? You're like a statue that voids absolutely any emotion whatsoever..."

At this he replied with an air of condescending undertone in his baritone voice. "I was recommended for the same reason you were," He didn't tear his eyes off of hers, a challenging gesture. "I get the job done. No loose ends. No mistakes. Simple. Emotions get in the way, true, I can fake it, but that's as far as it gets. Anymore questions?" He glanced at his watch, their plane should be boarding very soon. "We have less than four minutes. I suggest you get ready, we'll continue this conversation in the plane, sweetie." He added the last part with sarcasm. Maybe she was a nagging little child, but there was one thing that she could be useful for, and that was giving Roman something to pick on.

Madison glanced at the barista, and then back at Anthony. He'd walked over to the small attached counter where the various sized lids, stirrers, and other condiments were laid out in an accessible order and was in the process of matching an appropriate lid to his Styrofoam cup. The phone vibrated quietly in her hand, alerting Madison to an incoming message.

"Definitely the second one," Jason had typed. Madison sighed. Why couldn't he have just taken the easy way out?

Men.

Glancing at the expensive Rolex glittering on her slim wrist, Madison swallowed a colorful string of curses; swearing like a sailor in the middle of a coffee shop with her socialite attire was the last thing she needed to do to cement her image. However, with Jason stranded in the washroom, there wasn't much Madison could do on her own without making herself too obvious. There was only one thing to do...

Don't hate me for this, but Jason's been compromised. We've got a rogue in the Starbucks and I need an intervention. I'll mark him, but we need his luggage and possibly his boarding pass to disappear. Your count is 4 minutes. Madison hit 'send' and watched the screen for a confirmation of delivery to both Scarlet and Roman. Yeah, she was gonna have to buy Scarlet ten dozen cupcakes after this...

"One signature hot chocolate up front," the barista called out. Madison looked up in time to see the girl slide a sleeve with "Elizabeth Bennet" scribbled in a Sharpie over the Styrofoam cup. "Your second custom order is still in the works. Give it a minute and I'll be done with it." Elizabeth nodded, taking the hot chocolate and sipping it delicately. It was delicious. Too bad she'd have to spill it on Anthony as a distraction for her other two partners... when they finally arrived, anyways. She glanced at the entrance and wondered what was taking them so long. They were already down to a count of 3:37 and ticking.

Roman's fingers wrapped around the handle of his luggage just as his cell phone vibrated in his breast pocket. He sighed, grabbing it and checked his messages.

Don't hate me for this, but Jason's been compromised. We've got a rogue in the Starbucks and I need an intervention. I'll mark him, but we need his luggage and possibly his boarding pass to disappear. Your count is 4 minutes.

~ M.Y.

"Fuck," he muttered, glancing at Scarlett. She probably got the message as well. If this person recognized Jason then he would most likely be able to spot Roman too. He looked at his watch. They had exactly four minute and fifty-four seconds to get the job done. "Let's go."

Brushing pass, Scarlett, Roman was in strictly mission mode, ready to get his hands a bit dirty. "If he was able to recognize Jason then he might notice me too. Can't risk it. Can you distract him while I swipe his pass." He glanced at his watch again. "We've got precisely three minutes and fifty-nine seconds." He said all this while speed walking. The Starbucks was in view now. "Ready?"

At the same time as Roman reached for his pocket, Scarlett could hear a muffled beep coming from her purse. She had almost forgotten the cell that Madison had given her, as well as the other agents.

Before she could finish reading the text, Roman had slipped passed her, already headed in the direction of Jason and Madison.
“Marvelous,” Scarlett muttered sarcastically, completely ignoring any of Roman’s comments.

Without even a nod, Scarlett closed the remaining distance between her and the Starbucks, her eyes searching for the obvious. Her eyes found Madison standing casually at the counter as if she was waiting for her order. Within the store, there was really only one person this rogue could be, but that was only a guess.

Heading towards the little counter, Scarlett acted as if she had just needed to grab a quick handful of napkins. On top of the counter layed an open bag of ‘grande’ lids, as if none of the workers had enough time to put them in there place. Reaching towards the napkin dispenser, Scarlett accidently jerked her arm in the direction of the bag, causing it to fall to the ground with bag now half empty and lids scattered along the floor. Scarlett gasped and her shoulders slouched as a look of embarrassment bombarded her previous happy facade. The man who she presumed to be the rogue eyed the lids on the ground, as if anticipating whether he should offer to help. With luck, he did, but even if he hadn’t, Scarlett would have figured out a way to get him to.

“Need help?” The man asked Scarlett just as she began to kneel down, careful of her dress, and pick up the fallen lids. “That would be great,” she replied, smiling up at him with abashment. Now was where Roman would hopefully come in.

Roman ducked behind a pillar, that wasn't far from the Starbucks. He grabbed his cell phone and held it against his ear, pretending to be having a conversation. Nonchalantly, the tall agent strolled towards the stand, just as Scarlett created the perfect distraction. He waited until the rogue was looking away.

"As you can see," Roman talked into his phone. "I've got the papers with me." He walked behind the rogue, glancing down at the pocket of his jacket. His passport was peeking out, practically begging Roman to swipe it. Roman casually dropped his cellphone next to rogue's left hand. As he bent down to pick up the device, he snatched the passport discreetly. He glanced at Scarlett, giving her a wink as he pulled himself into an upright position. "Yeah sorry, Dave," he chuckled a bit. "I dropped my cell, so about those plans." He walked away, stuffing the stolen passport in to the inner pocket of his jacket. He speed walked back to the terminal, typing on his cell phone with haste.

Mission accomplished. We have one minute and precisely fifty eight seconds to board the plane.

He sent it to all of them, practically bolting to his luggage.

Most recent OOC posts in Training for Deception

Re: Training for Deception

I've been work with school and family issues, so I haven't been as active as I wanted to be. I'll post from Roman, and I apologize for the long wait.

Re: Training for Deception

Will anyone be posting or has everyone disappeared

Re: Training for Deception

So, anyone planning on posting? :)
I would, but there's not really a lot I can do at the moment.

Re: Training for Deception

Will be posting tomorrow or the day after! Most likely tomorrow since I just wrote a bit of it so it won't take very long.

So much to do, so little time!

Re: Training for Deception

Lol, that made me laugh.
But I'm pretty sure you can't

Re: Training for Deception

Well crap, I am not sure what I did, but I accidentally posted the same thing three times. Is it possible to delete posts here, because I can't seem to find a way to do it anywhere... o.o
Maybe I'm just blind, but until then I guess I'll just delete the text from those, to make the annoyance minimal.

Re: Training for Deception

I'm so sorry! I completely forgot that I didn't post yet.

Re: Training for Deception

Anyone going to be posting at all, or...?

Re: Training for Deception

Don't worry about it! I have a little post written, I was going to wait for you to post, hoping it would give me a little more to add. But I'll probably just add whatever onto it and then post it within the next hour since I'll be gone for the rest of the day to travel back home. :)

Re: Training for Deception

That sounds good to me!

Having said that... I'm sorry for not being able to post yet. I've got guests over and it's impossible to get on the computer long enough to read recent posts, let alone type one of my own. I'll get on it soon though!

Re: Training for Deception

Okay, so Therin and I had a bit of a conversation...or... exchanged a few words? Lol... about posting frequency, so I just thought I'd share them with you. I shortened it a bit:

"Don't even worry about it! I've been pretty busy lately, so I'm going to be more lenient with posting frequency. I have no problem if this roleplay takes a bit of a break, say for a week, or so, I just want to be reassured that everyone will be returning after that week has finished. I'm determined to keep this roleplay from dying off as most do, so as long as I know that you won't disappear, But you can really post whenever you want. You seem to be trustworthy, but then again, anyone can just randomly disappear, even someone you didn't think would.

So, yeah. If you can't post, don't worry about it. If possible, after four days (maybe?) and you haven't posted, just post in the OOC so that I know you're still here. If you can't get on, just post ASAP when you do get on, and all will be well! :)"

I literally just copied, pasted, and then erased, so that this could apply to all of you. Any questions? ;D

Re: Training for Deception

Finally posted after a huge delay, I don't even have a good excuse, except maybe procrastination and more terrible planning. Sorry guys :/
I definitely need to get my schedule tidied up >.<

Re: Training for Deception

Sorry, I was at a friend's house. Nadie, that was completely accurate.

Roman likes:
~ Hunting
~ Shooting Ranges
~ Cleaning his weapons
~ Working out / Jogging
~ Playing Sports
~ Sex...jk xD...Hacking

Re: Training for Deception

Just what I expected, haha!

I shall wait for peace to reply, and then I will apply the needed information to my post, and then I will finally post it. :)

Re: Training for Deception

Allow me to be of some help. From what I have gathered, Roman's hobbies include:

1. Fishing (for compliments)
2. Quilting
3. Knitting
4. Embroidery
5. Ballet

Hope that's of some use! :) :) :)

Re: Training for Deception

What are Roman's hobbies? Would help me with my post, which you will see why.

Re: Training for Deception

Hi guys. Just wanted to post an update to let you guys know that I'm still here. I'm not going to bore you with another excuse, but I will be posting tomorrow; which could be at anytime from 11am-11pm pacific time. I havent always been consisten on pisting when i say i'm going to post, but I assure you it will be done. Hope you guys are still here, as well.

Re: Training for Deception

Ignore this.Ignore this.Ignore this.

Re: Training for Deception

Oh hahah, you're not an idiot! But it's not a problem if you, or any of you really, don't have much time for posting. Perhaps all of you should let me know how often you are able to post, so that if it's taking longer than what you told me to post, I will know if something is up. Obviously if something did come up that is preventing you from posting for longer than what you told me, I won't kick you out or get angry, I'll just message you and then move the roleplay along, and when you return, you can just jump back in.

By the way, I'll probably post in, maximum, a couple of hours! :)

I was supposed to post this morning, but my tenants were refilling up their giant ass fish tank and forgot about it, thus leaving my room right below, flooded. My bed was soaked along with the other half of my room, so I didn't get much sleep. :I Not my year, lol.
