Description

Image

Name:
"My name? It's Emily Cooper. But my friends just call me Em."

Age:
"I'm 17"

Bio:
"I'd rather not talk about it."
Em is an only child, her parents worked hard to scrape up the money to send to her to the all girls school. They wanted nothing less than the best for their daughter. Em lived a very sheltered life, she never got on the internet except to do school work, she never watched any movies with violence, cursing, or any other obscene things in it, she didn't even get a cell phone until she was 16. She is an all around good girl, she worked hard to bring home straight A's she figured it was the least she could do for her parents who worked so hard to get her into this prestigious school. But that all changed one night, it was pouring down raining as she and her parents were driving home from going out for dinner. Her dad lost control of the car and hit another car head on. Her parents were announced dead at the scene, and Em was in the hospital for a few weeks. Her dad's brother has stepped up and decided to take her in, so now she is living with her uncle and her cousin Thomas.

Image
Personality:
"I'd say I'm a nice person."
Em was pretty popular at her old school, so she's not shy in the least. But she has never been exposed to a lot of things, such as boys, so she's not really sure how to socialize with them, which may make her come off as a little socially awkward. She gets along great with teachers so some people may think of her as a teacher's pet but she's not. She's just used to working hard to do her best on all her school assignments. Em will not go anywhere near a pool or any deep body of water. She is afraid of the water because she was never taught how to swim. Em has never done a lot of things that normal teens have. She has never been to the movies, never been to a skating rink, or anything like that.

Other:
"Nothing I can think of."
Em is afraid of deep water. She can't swim.
She also has quite a few scars from the accident. A pretty big one on the back of her head, and a bunch of small ones on her upper arms.

So begins...

Emily glanced over at Rudi as he spoke, apologizing for the kiss. She bit the inside of her cheek, frowning slightly when he said it would never happen again. Not really sure why, but for some reason, she felt like she kind of did want it to happen again. But she wasn't going to say that out loud. "It's ok." Is all she said, glancing out the window as he drove. When they reached the mall, a small smile tugged on her lips, remembering a few occasions she'd come to this mall with her friends. It was half way between where she used to live and the town in which she lived now with her uncle. On some level she kind of hoped she'd run into some of her old friends, but then again, she hoped that she didn't. "Alright." She said with a nod of her head and a smile, getting out of the car. Em ran a hand over her hair, making sure no stray strands had slipped from her ponytail, as they walked into the mall together. "I didn't think guys did this. You know, hang out at the mall. I thought it was a girl thing." She said quietly, glancing over at Rudi as they walked.

Rudi got out of the car and walked with Emily through the parking lot and into the mall. He slipped his hands into his pockets and listened to her talk. "Yeah guys really don't go to the mall, but I assumed you would like the mall, so here we are." The smell of pretzels and food court pizza filled the air as they walked inside together. Rudi glanced over at Emily and focused on her body. She looked different then some of the girls he got with recently. He smirked and looked back forward. The sound of people chatting. The sight of people with shopping bags almost made Rudi cringe, but he held it together.

Emily laughed quietly at Rudi's explanation, nodding her head slightly at his words. "I've actually been here before, though, only a couple times. With a few of my friends from my old school." She said, slipping her hands into her pockets as well as they walked through the mall together. She glanced at the stores as they passed by, but didn't actually stop to look, as she didn't have any money to go shopping with. "So, what do you like to do? I mean, when you're not hanging out at the mall." She said with another small laugh, teasing Rudi a little, a smile on her lips.

That was the dreaded question Rudi tried to avoid. What would he say? All he does is smoke and drink. He also constantly has sex with girls, but he shouldn't even try to mention that. Rudi kept thinking about what he could say. A thought popped into his head, "I work from time to time. Besides that I really don't do much. I do hang out at the skate park once a week or so. I'm never really up to anything." He couldn't be more of a liar than he already is. It wasn't even good lying. Was he really going to confess about everything he does that seems wrong to the rest of society? Obviously not. Rudi looked around at the shops. There wasn't really anything interesting. But then he saw one store that might aid him. It was the candle store. Yesterday Rudi could tell that Emily could smell the weed in the car. "Let's go to that candle store." Rudi walked in with her and went right for the car air fresheners. His hand reached for the air fresheners. He grabbed two and went right to the counter and purchased them. He turned to Emily afterwards, "I just got those for my car. We can do anything else now. Whatever you feel like doing."

"So you skateboard?" Emily asked curiously as they walked into the candle store, she glanced around curiously but didn't pick anything up, just followed Rudi as he picked up some air fresheners for his car. She still wondered what exactly that smell was, but figured it had to be something from his house or nearby where he lived since she'd smelt it on him and in his car. Emily doesn't know a thing about drugs, well, they did have the health class at her old school, where they told you drugs were bad and all that jazz, but she'd never been around them and had definitely never smelt weed before. "Maybe you could teach me how to skateboard sometime? I've always wanted to try it." She said as they waited in line for him to buy the air fresheners. Once they were done, and walked back out of the store, her stomach growled quietly, as she was hit by the smells from the food court once more. "I forgot to eat breakfast." She said with a slight blush, placing a hand on her stomach, as if that would help to quieten the growls that were coming from it.

Rudi freaked out on the inside when she asked about wanting to learn how to skateboard. He hasn't rode since he was a freshman. There's no harm in getting the dust off the ol' board though. He looked over at Emily and heard what she said, "Yeah I could go for something to eat as well." Rudi wasn't exactly hungry, but he never turned down a meal especially when he got the munchies while and after he smoked. He walked with her to the food court. The sight of people walking around with food, people eating, and the free sample here and there made his hunger grow a little.

After eating, and walking around the mall for a while longer, Emily and Rudi made their way back out to Rudi's car. "Is there a bowling alley around here anywhere?" She asked, glancing over at Rudi, running a hand through her hair. As they'd been walking around the mall, she'd let her hair down and the hair tie was now around her wrist like a bracelet. "I-I've never been bowling before." She admitted quietly, biting the inside of her cheek. "But it looked like fun in the movies." She said, blushing slightly, realizing how crazy it sounded, a 17 year old who'd never gone bowling, had never even been kissed until yesterday. 'He must think I'm so lame,' She thought nervously.

Bowling? Where did that come from? Rudi raised an eyebrow as he looked over at Emily,"Seriously? Bowling? Sure, I guess. I haven't gone in a while." They reached Rudi's car. He got in when she did, set up one of the air fresheners, and started the car up. He pulled out of the lot and back out onto the road and to the bowling alley. He parked and got out. Rudi walked with her to the front door. As he held the door open he heard someone from behind. They said his name. Rudi turned slowly to see that it was Damian. Damian was one of his pot head buddies that he lit up with every once in a while. A half smile formed on Rudi's face as he said a simple "Hey Damian." Damian smirked as he saw Emily. "Who's that Rudi? She seems pretty nice." Damian got closer towards the both of them. "Are you guys on a little date?" Damian let out a creepy chuckle. Rudi spoke up, "Could you just leave? You're being a dick right now." Damian let out a full fake laugh this time "A dick? Did you show that girl your with yours yet?" Rudi stepped up and was about to swing his fist, but Damian took a step back. "Hey you! Girl! You should see his man junk. It's huge! I'm serious! Make sure you wear protecti-" Before Damian finished his sentence Rudi pushed him back. With that in mind, Damian laughed, smirked, and left. Rudi turned to Emily once Damian left "Sorry about him. He's a jackass."

Emily smiled when Rudi agreed to go to the bowling alley. She didn't really say much on the ride over though, still not really sure what to talk about with Rudi. When they reached the bowling alley, they made their way toward the building. She was about to thank Rudi for opening the door for her, when a guy called out to him. Emily glanced between the two as they spoke, but when the guy's attention focused on her, she shifted her weight nervously from one foot to the other, not sure what to say. And then when the conversation took a turn, and the guy started talking about Rudi's 'man junk', her face turned a bright shade of red, blushing deeply. Emily glanced at Rudi when he apologized for the guy. "I-Is he a friend of yours?" She asked a little uncertainly, glancing in the direction the guy had disappeared. "Do all guys joke around like that?" She asked, glancing at Rudi once more, the blush still very prominent on her cheeks as they slowly walked into the building.

There was no excuse for a conversation like that. Rudi looked at Emily who was blushing. "Yeah... sort of. He acts like a child though which makes me wonder why I have ever hung out with him. Rudi went up to the counter and got shoes for the both of them. He also paid for lane 6. He handed Emily her shoes and walked with her down to lane 6. Rudi slipped off his skate shoes and slid on the dirty, grimy bowling shoes. Without hesitation Rudi got up and got a few bowling balls from the rack and put them on the ball return machine.

Emily gave a small laugh at Rudi's words, but still felt a rather embarrassed by his friend's words. "Thank you." She said, taking the shoes from him. She sat down and slipped of her shoes, putting the bowling shoes on before standing up and testing them out. "They feel a little weird." She said with a quiet giggle, rocking on her heels slowly for a few moments before walking over to the machine that was supposed to keep their score. Emily looked at it curiously, trying to figure out how to work it, but didn't dare touch it in case she messed it up or something. "Do you know how to work this thing?" She asked, glancing over at Rudi before glancing back down at the machine again and up to the TV hanging from the ceiling that was just waiting for them to put their names in so they could get started.

Rudi laughed "I guess I need to show you the ropes of bowling. He walked up to the keyboard. He typed in "Emily and Rudi. Rudi went over and picked up a ball. He slid his fingers into the holes and lined up with the lane and pins. "I'll start. I just wanna show you what bowling looks like. Rudi slowly brought the ball back and walked forward, releasing the ball smoothly onto the lane. It flew down the wood panels and smashed into the front pin, knocking down eight out of the ten pins. He turned around and grabbed another ball and went for the spare. The ball hit one of the two pins. He turned to Emily and walked over to her "I did alright, but I think you can do better."

Emily watched Rudi as he got the game set up and then took his turn. "I wouldn't be so sure." Emily said with a quiet laugh, when Rudi said she could do better than him. She walked over to the ball return and picked up one of the balls, slipping her fingers into the holes, as she'd seen Rudi do. "Here goes nothing." She said with a smile, as she walked toward the lane, trying to copy Rudi's movements. Though hers were a little choppy and her wrist curved as she threw the ball, which landed in the gutter about halfway down the lane. She couldn't help but to laugh at herself, "That was terrible," She said, shaking her head as she waited for her ball to come back to the ball return. Her second throw wasn't much better than the first, only managing to scrape by the pins before going into the gutter, knocking down just two pins along with it.

Rudi watched as Emily gutter balled her first throw. After he second throw he applauded her, "Good job for your first time. It just takes some time to get used to bowling. Don't worry though, it won't take long. You could probably get a strike on your next roll." Rudi got up from his seat and took his turn, getting the same thing from the first time. He sat back in his seat and looked over at Emily. He didn't want to hurt her. He had hurt so many girls in the past by just leaving them the morning after. He didn't want to screw up once again. He wanted to change. For the better.

ImageEmily smiled at Rudi's words, quietly applauding him as well when he finishes his turn. "You're really good at this." She said, as she stepped up to take her turn. Her movements were a little bit smoother this time, but her wrist still twisted to the side when she threw the ball, landing herself another gutter ball. "Good one Em." Thomas called out, a smile plastered on his face as he walked toward them, his arm thrown over the shoulders of a rather beautiful brunette. Emily recognized her from school, but didn't know her name, though she was pretty sure the girl was on the cheer leading squad.

"Oh, hi, Thomas." She said, glancing down at her feet, shifting nervously. Thomas glanced from Emily to Rudi. "I bet your parents are rolling over in their graves right now." He murmured, giving Em a sympathetic look, putting on an act for his girlfriend. "You really should be more careful of who you decide to spend your time with, Emmy." he said, his tone a little condescending as if talking to a child. Emily's face flushed, glancing from Rudi to Thomas, his girl friend, giving Emily a sympathetic look like she were a rabbit who's about to be eaten.

"Thomas," Emily said quietly, shaking her head, she was never one for confrontation, but her cousin's words were getting to her. "Just leave us alone." She said, though it came out as more of a plea than a demand. "Now, what kind of cousin would I be if I let my innocent little cousin hang out with the likes of him." Thomas said, a slight smirk on his lips as he glanced at Rudi as if he were some kind of disgusting insect.

Rudi watched as Thomas approached him and Emily. His eyes focused on Thomas, but he glanced at the girl he was with. Rudi smirked because he almost got with her once. It ended rather brutally with her hitting Rudi in his crotch. The words spewing out of Thomas's mouth annoyed Rudi. His right hand curled up into a fist. He grit his teeth as Thomas made himself sound like a jackass to Rudi. There wasn't going to be any more of this. "Hey, Thomas. Nice to see you dude. How about you go on your way and me and your cousin can get back to bowling." His tone almost sounded as if he was about to freak out, but Rudi kept his cool. Rudi told himself that before the end of high school he would beat the living hell out of anyone he found unbearable, and it looks like that was about to happen. Rudi took a small step towards Thomas and the other girl.

Thomas's smirk grew, seeing Rudi's fists. He let go of his girlfriend as Rudi took a step toward him. "You wanna take this outside?" He asked, amusement dancing in his eyes. Emily's eyes widened slightly seeing the two, appearing to get ready to fight. "Thomas, just go, please." She said, taking a step toward Rudi, placing a hand on his arm, as if she could actually do anything to keep the guys from fighting if they really set their minds to it. Thomas glanced between Rudi and Emily once more, a quiet snort coming from his lips. "Thomas," The brunette said sternly, her arms crossed over her chest, frowning deeply. Thomas took a step back, holding his hands up in surrender. "Alright, alright," He said, draping his arm over the girl's shoulders once more. "Lets go Beth, I didn't really feel like bowling anyway." he said turning and walking away with his girlfriend. Emily breathed a quiet sigh of relief, watching her cousin walk away. She glanced up at Rudi, "I'm sorry about that." She said, giving him an apologetic smile.

Rudi's fists uncurled. He was actually even ready to fight Thomas. To be completely honest, Rudi was even a little bit scared. With that in mind he looked at Emily, "It's quite alright. I'm sorry for almost kicking his ass... okay maybe not. He probably would've beat me pretty badly, but now that situation is avoided... Wanna do something different? Maybe bowling was a bad idea in the first place. And don't worry about me wasting money. I paid with counterfeit bills. Rudi looked around to make sure no one heard him. He looked over at the guy at the counter who seemed bored out of his mind. After observing other people and the surrounding area, Rudi's eyes went back to Emily.

Emily nodded her head slightly when Rudi suggested they go somewhere else. Her eyes widening when he said that he paid with counterfeit money. "What? Are you serious?" She asked incredulously, her heart racing in her chest as she glanced around the bowling alley, making sure no one was listening on their conversation. "You ARE joking, right?" She said, looking him in the eyes, searching them as if they could tell her the truth. She quickly flopped down into a chair and switched out of the bowling shoes and back into her own shoes, wanting to get out of there as quickly as possible in case he wasn't joking, as she didn't have any money to cover for the 'fake' bills if they were found out and really didn't want to end up going to jail as an accessory to the crime. Though he had to be, right? He just didn't seem like the kind of guy to even have counterfeit bills, let alone spend them.

Rudi laughed as she panicked, "Don't worry. I paid with real money. I was just joking about the counterfeit stuff. Sorry if i spooked you. He actually had paid with probably a dollar or two of counterfeit money, but no one would notice. He slipped off his bowling shoes and put his other shoes back on. They went up to the counter and handed their shoes in. With that all done, Rudi went out to the parking lot with Emily. He was about to go over and get in the car, but stood with her next to the passenger side door. He looked right into her eyes, not trying to scare her, but to be somewhat caring. "I don't want to make things seem awkward now, but how was the kiss I gave you yesterday? I know you said you never kissed anyone before, but did you enjoy it at all? or did I ruin the experience? Just be honest with me. No pressure."
