Description

Image

Name: Angelica
Nickname: Angel, Angie, Ang, or even Angela
Age: 8
Gender: Female
Role: Mind reader
Powers: She can read minds/sense them. She can also send telepathic messages. If someone doesn't know her well. ex: scientists or stranger, they will think it is their own thoughts, because her voice in someone's mind conforms to however the person views it. Her mind reading abilities include empathy, but she can't control emotions, just know what they are.
Side affects: She needs a lot of sleep, and has been known to fall asleep standing upright. Reason being? Reading minds takes a lot of work, and it is an involuntary action, so she can never stop it.
Though reading minds gives her really nice reflexes and great strategies, she is still eight. And still a weak little girl. Granted, she, and like all other mutants are just naturally better than regular humans...faster, smarter, stronger. Though some mutants are designed to be faster or stronger than others.
One really weird side affect is that her blood is a deep purple. Don't ask me why. Plus, she has less blood than normal, so she can bleed out easily.

APPEARANCE

Image
Eye color: A bright green
Hair color: A reddish brown
Complexion: Pale, with freckles dotting her face
Height: 4 foot 8 inches
Other: Whenever she is sending a telepathic message, her eyes flash gold for a second.

[center][size=200]PERSONALITY

Angel is a very outgoing person, easily excited and normally optimistic person. She likes doing things that are fun and exciting. She likes what most eight year olds like: stuffed animals, disney world, unicorns, you name it. She likes a motherly figure, but doesn't like to be bossed around, and hates what she doesn't get what she wants. She tends to speak whats on her mind, and others minds if you know what I mean. She is a sweet little girl with a sweet attitude.

Hobby(s): Drawing, singing, she also really likes animals.
Fav. Color: Purple, no wait pink!.....orange is a good color too. Ooooh but sky blue is so pretty. And yellow is so vibrant, red so energetic, and green is just awesome. Hmm....so yeah, purple.
Fear(s): Robots. If she can't read em' she fears em'. She is also afraid of needles. And scientists. And antiseptic smells. And men dressed in white. And test tubes. And hospitals. And cages. And those metal tables that they strap you down too. And big tanks filled with water...like solitary confinement you know?
Optomist or Pessimist?: Optomist
Introvert or extrovert?: extrovert

So begins...

Ugh, can't wait to sell these brats to China. Half a billion dollars! THat's how much they'll pay for just this little girl. Angel's eye popped open, looking at the man in front of her. Clearly, he didn't know she could read minds. She slowly stood up from her cross-legged position, barely bumping into the top of her cage. What did this munchkin do anyway? Bat her eyes and ask for a pony. Angel narrowed her eyes. She wasn't a munchkin. Really, she wasn't that short. She decided to send a message. This munchkin probably has nothing. I should let her out of the cage, what harm is an eight year old gonna do? Her big round eyes stared up at him in innocent fascination. The scientist sort of gave a puzzled look, then shook the thought away. So much for that plan. "Hold out your wrist." he said, pulling out a needle filled with something. She did so obediently and he injected it. Then he pulled out a clipboard and looked at her expectingly. He frowned slightly, then scribbled something down. Then he stalked off. Typical scientists. Angel huffed and sat back in her cage.

Tara opened her eyes and sighed softly. She sat up and rubbed her eyes, trying to get the sleep away, and looked around. She could see Angel and watched a scientist inject something into the eight year old kid, and felt guilty for the child. She was only eight for God's sake! Tar looked around, then changed into a wolf and curled up. She licked her paws, not feeling like interacting with any of the scientists today. The white fea hated this places, but what she hated more was leaving. That wasn't exactly her fault. Having been locked up here all her life she didn't know better but to do as they said and never to ignore the rules. She hated herself for it, but there was nothing she could do. A simple experiment, that was what she was. She was strong, yes, but if she didn't feel like listening she wouldn't listen.

Tara huffed and changed back, then looked at her lock and tried to get it open. She bit on it, scratched at it, but it wouldn't budge. She growled annoyed and looked at Angel with a sorry look in her eyes.

Simon Benson snored loudly as he slept. He assumed it was because of the uncomfortable living conditions. When the door opened he didn't really want to bother with opening his eyes so he just pretended to be asleep.

"Wake up monkey boy," came a gruff voice. "I know you ain't sleeping because you ain't snoring."

'Damn it,' Simon thought to himself. He opened his eyes and looked at the doctor. It was one of the uglier ones. Simon came to two conclusions. Either all guards are naturally ugly and that is a key feature of being hired, or he just happened to get the ugly ones and they gave the good looking ones to the female experiments.

'Get up you lazy bum!" the guard shouted as Simon took his time. The guard placed the syringe down on the ground and stepped back. 'Stick it in and inject yourself," he ordered. The last time someone had tried to inject the syringe in his arm his body reflexively jammed it in their eye while breaking his arm. After that he didn't get to watch any more martial arts movies nor did anyone inject him anymore.

Simon let out a heavy sigh, saying how bored he was and took the syringe and injected the contents. He then tossed the needle towards the door and laid back down. He wish these experiments would end and that they would just let him go. He was silent as the doctors went to the other cases.

Angel shifted nervously, a headache spreading. Maybe it was because of the most recent injection. She should probably tell the scientists. She had heard them thinking it one day. If she told the scientists what she felt afterward, they would make whatever they are working on better, so it wouldn't hurt, and make a mutation or something. She looked around for her favorite scientist. A man, in about his thirties. He actually cared for her, made sure she got enough food (he was aware that she needed a lot more than normal because of her mutation), was aware that she was a person too, and only did things purely for science, and possibly even hated hurting her. Luckily, he had been assigned to her...or more like she was his project, to make better, study, etc. His name was John. Angel sort of felt bad for the other mutants that they didn't interact wit John. The scientists they were assigned to were cruel and mean. John. I have a headache. It might be because of the injection. I got one five minutes ago, I think. Plus I'm hungry. she 'mind messaged' him. He looked over to her, nodded, wrote something down, then came over too her. I'm sorry, but tomorrow we are doing another experiment. You can't eat for twenty-four hours. But this new experiment could broaden your mind reading range.

Angel nodded sadly, but did understand. Her stomach growled angrily. Poor Angel. She is only eight! I don't want to interact with scientists today. Poor angel, she shouldn't be in there. I can't get this cage open though. Angel turned her head to look at Tara. "it's ok. We are helping. Maybe they will come up with a cure for cancer," she said thoughtfully. "Anyway, a scientist is coming your way." she said. She looked to the other mutant, Simon she remembered. The experiments might end soon. They might sell us...like an auction or something. It will end someday, don't worry.

Tara watched Angel, when she warned about a scientist coming her way, she sighed softly. She narrowed her eyes and watched the scientist silently, than looked at Angel. Fur grew, Tara changed back into a wolf, not wanting to do anything today with them. Sadly, the scientist opened her cage and grabbed her scruff. She growled but before she could even struggle four guards were holding her down like she was the biggest threat here. She rolled her eyes and was dragged away.

Aileen was watching as some of the other mutants were given injections. She hated those mysterious injections, they always gave her headaches, temporary blindness, cramps or weird ringing noises in her ears and she always ended up vomiting. It was like they purposely gave her the wrong ones. She noticed the girl Tara being dragged away by four giant guards. Aileen actually liked Tara, maybe it was because their mutations were somewhat similar compared to the others. Except, Tara was either fully human or fully wolf, Aileen had to be both cat and human all the time.

Then a scientist made his way over to her and Aileen nervously moved to the back of the cell. The scientists hadn't made any experiments on her the last few weeks... or had it been days? Months? She couldn't tell. And she hadn't had any food since yesterday. That meant that they would something to her today.
"Hey, kitty. I don't have time for that." It was a young man that was standing at the front of her cage. She'd never seen him before, but his name tag said Dr. Williams. "Come here." He held out his arm through the bars and waited for her to come closer. "Why?" Aileen asked him without moving. "Come here or I'll make sure the next experiment will go terribly wrong." Aileen stared at him for a couple of seconds and then slowly moved closer. He seemed like one of the violent types, she probably shouldn't fight back. As soon as he was able to reach her, he wrapped his arm around her throat and then injected something into her neck. But he didn't let go when he pulled out the needle. Aileen kicked and screamed until everything slowly became black and she blacked out. Dr. Williams hold her for a couple of seconds while observing her and then let her drop to the bottom of the cell. Another doctor walked over to Dr. William and he sighed while scribbling something down. "Looks like none of it works."

'So do we have any plans to get out of this place yet?,' Simonmentally sent to the little telepath. 'I'm not liking it that they take us away when they feel like it nor how they are treated the rest of you. The only up side is that I get to sleep most of the time.'

Simon sat up as he looked around at the other mutants. Wolfy had gotten taken away and Kitty was out of it. He looked in the direction of Angel. She was much younger than the rest of them, but her power was impressive. It was as versatile as his own, maybe even more so. Simon was smart enough to know that their future was bleak.

'Are you able to scan their minds without them realizing it.?' he sent the question to Angel. 'Maybe some way that we can get out of here. The the more we can get out the better. It has to be easy enough so that all of us can escape. If you can find several ways out then maybe we will have a better chance.'

All this thinking sent images to Simon's head as he remembered the corridors he had come in through. He could find his way to the entrance but that didn't do much good unless he could successfully disguise himself. He needed an alternative plan. He got a little tired of sitting up and layed back down, staring at the unconscious Kitty. She had pretty ears and a tail. Cats were quite the peaceful creatures. Simon yawned and considered going back to sleep.

Angel sat motionless in her cage, legs crossed, eyes closed. Sometimes she did this just so she could listen to the thoughts whizzing about people. It was like listening to someone talk, except they didn't know you were listening. She turned to the girl that looked like a cat. She thought Simon was handsome. The thought made her smile as Simon was thinking about her ears and tail, plus cats in general. Simon. His name is Simon, Angel thought to cat girl. Angel's eyes twitched open to look at Carlisle and the blonde. The blonde reminded Angel of John, nice, actually caring for their test subjects. She's nice. she simply thought to him. Then she listened to Carlisle read the book she had given him, but stopped as she didn't understand much of it, being eight and all. She carefully closed her eyes again, this time to sleep. A nearby thought stopped her though.

Those damn big wigs. Today! They are coming today! I need to do the surgery before they come...maybe they will be impressed, find them useful. If they aren't, they will be killed, as we know how to duplicate the mutation. They shouldn't kill angel...only eight. They have to though, for science. Angel crawled to the door of her cage, looking at John with ernest eyes, the ones thoughts she was reading. "Hey sweetie...we have to do the surgery today." He said, unlocking her cage. She hopped out and obediently followed, knowing struggling was useless. "I know what's going on," Angel says, smiling up at him. He nodded and led her too the experiment room, and onto an experiment table. Quickly he strapped her down and prepared a needle. "It will be over before you know it," he said, injecting it into her arm. Her eyes drooped closed and she nodded off into unconsciousness.

Turns out there is a reason to not eating for 24 hours before the surgery. Right now she felt like crap, huddled in a cage, head throbbing, stomach churning. She had thrown up in another cage, so they had to move her to another one to clean it. About five seconds ago she threw up in this one. They hadn't moved her again because most scientists don't really care, and John wasn't around. So she huddled in the back of her little cage, her nose wrinkled at the rancid smell. A scientist walked by, and Angel focused hard, and sent him a message. The little girl in that cage, she threw up and needs to be moved. Her cage needs to be cleaned. This probably wouldn't work, as most scientists had already felt her talking to them. Normally on complete strangers, they would think the thoughts she gave them were their own. Sort of like mind controlling but not really.

Surprisingly, the man gave a somewhat slow turn and walked toward her. Her eyes flashed and she shuffled over the door as he opened it. Her mind was dizzy though, and what she had said to the man was whirring around inside her head, shouting at her. He opened the door and set to work, motioning one of the cleaners over. Two guards advanced toward her, a little nervous that she was out of her cage, unattended. But there was no need, she was too dizzy, headache taking over and stomach churning around and around. She curled up in a ball on he ground, rocking on her heals, moaning in pain.

'You'll be okay.'

Carlisle himself wasn't quite sure why he said it. She had been curled upon the floor, racked by pains; groaning. It had awoken something within him, an intrinsic brotherly sense, and so he had walked over to the bars of his cell. Reaching his hand through the cold steel bars he stroked her russet locks. She was much too young for this place, her adolescent eyes had seen more pain and suffering than others tenfold.

'The pain will go away, just like it did last time. You'll be okay.'

There was no need for him to say it out aloud, she could hear his thoughts perfectly. But his voice was reassuring, not only to her, to but to himself as well. Carlisle was trying to convince himself as much as he was Angel.

'When Ms Taylor comes back tonight, everything will be better. She'll take care of you too, if she doesn't, I'll refuse to take my medicine.'

Once again, he stared endearingly at the child. Recalling a once soothing melody, Carlisle began to sing;

'Just close your eyes
The sun is going down
You'll be alright
No one can hurt you now
Come morning light
You and I'll be safe and sound
'

Angel rocked on her heels moaning, eyes shut. It was only until she felt someone touch her hair that she realized Carlisle was talking to her...singing actually. Her green eyes looked up curiously, which was met with another bout of nausea. She squeezed her eyes shut, just listening to Carlisle, which was actually helping, a lot. She tried to get her headache under control, by droning out everyone's thought, which helped considerably. Angel recalled what John's intentions were to do in the surgery. Maybe her head hurt so much because she was listening to every bodies thoughts....but how would that explain what happened to the scientist who let her out of the cage? Angel shook her thoughts off and concentrated again. Soon her headache was gone, but she still felt like crap. By now the guards had hurried over and were scooping her up in their arms to take her to yet another cage.

She didn't like it here. John was nice, Carlisle was nice. Simon was nice. All the mutants were nice. But everything else was bad. She didn't want to be apart of it. At that moment, John and the blonde rushed in. John hurriedly injected me with something, which made me relax a lot, enveloping the nausea. The world drifted away, but before it did, I quickly thought to Carlisle. Thank you

She would be fine, for now. But they would keep testing her, testing her everyday, cutting her, jabbing her, drugging her until eventually, she would reach her breaking point. Carlisle felt immensely unworthy of her thanks, he could do nothing to save her, only sit in his cage and watch her slowly waste away, then in turn waste away himself. The scientists would come into his cell, and carelessly remove his lifeless corpse, preparing the cell for its next unfortunate occupant. A cycle of perpetual misery and pain, of pain and misery.

Ms Taylor stood by his cell, eyes fixed on Angel and John, worry evident. She wore no lab coat, and no spectacles rested upon her nose. Dressed like this, the blonde actually looked like the 19 year old student she was. Carlisle walked up to bars of his cell, his cobalt eyes stood deathly still, belying no sense of pain, no sense of pleasure, no sense of emotion. He stood right behind her, his breath lingering upon her exposed neck.

'Why do you do this to us?' He whispered, disappearing into thin air.

Simon looked over as Carlisle helped Angel. it was a little out of character but Simon just chalked it up for one of those different faces people tend to show a select few. He looked over at Carlisle as he stood right behind the woman known as Ms Taylor. Simon was curious what he was going to do. When he saw him say something to her and disappear he was very interested in her reaction. She seemed flustered.

Simon filed this little drama for future use. Carlisle was quite intelligent and would be useful in an escape. If one ever took place. Everyone was quite wary of the mutants. Simon didn't think the guards would give him a chance to get out. The only one that seemed to hold the key to any successful escape would be the underestimated Angel. Simon's gaze looked tired but his mind was active going through the known blueprints and went over the routines of all the staff he had been exposed to.

Simon's eyes rested back on the cat girl once more.

"I really thought they were more worried about her. I wonder what all that was about?"he said softly. He would have ask her when she felt better. "I don't want be rude, but could tell me what abilities you have?"

Everything was a haze. The anesthesia was a little too strong for an eight year old. Angel kept having the urge to look up at the lights, then reach out and touch them. "JOHN ISN'T WIMPY PUSHOVER!" she screamed to a scientist who passed by, clearly thinking about John. Angel's angered state soon turned back to fuzzes, flurries of motion lost in the drug that relaxed her. Her dopey smile and glazed over eyes made her look like a drug addict. She giggled a little, and then burst out laughing, not really knowing why.

But as time faded, she became grumpier. And angrier, and still a little sick. She was coiled up and ready to pounce. The dinky cage was setting her on edge, and all the cruel torturous thoughts of the scientists were driving her mad. If she didn't get out in the next fifteen minutes, she would make someone kill themselves. Literally. By using her mind. In fact, just as a scientist passed by, she gritted her teeth and entered his mind. Let the mutants out of their cages. The man stopped in his tracks, shook his head, then kept walking.

They need some fresh air. Some are claustrophobic. The little one is sick. Let them out. Now. Angel urged. The man froze and slowly turned around with a puzzled look on his face. He made slow and long footsteps back towards the cage. Then he just stopped, looking really confused. Let them out! They shouldn't be in cages! Do it! She thought, forcefully.

The man walked over to the nearest cage, Aileen, and opened it. Then he went to Simon's and opened his. Then he went to Tara's and then Carlisle's, opening theirs and all other mutant's cages. Lastly, he opened hers. "Thank you," she said with a creepy little girl smile. The man's eyes widened and she punched him in the face. She was surprisingly strong for a little girl. he collapsed to the ground, but her hand hurt now. "Let's go," she said.

Aileen turned away from the guy and crawled over towards the corner of her cell, disappointed in herself. Why didn't she just kill herself? Oh wait, she couldn't. They didn't even have the freedom to do that. Simon. His name is Simon. Someone else interrupted her thoughts and she figured it had to be the little girl. She knew that she could read minds and telepath thoughts.

Aileen turned around to look at the girl, but she was being dragged away by guards. With a shocked and worried expression, Aileen hurried to the front of her cage again and followed the girl with her eyes. It was horrible. What was she... seven? Eight? "She will be ok," the guy, Simon, suddenly said. With a slight nod, she agreed with him. He was right. The girl was the most important one of them all, they couldn't kill her. "They like her more than the rest of us. You're beautiful." The last sentence shocked her and she stared at the guy in disbelief. How could he say something like that? First off, this was neither the place nor time to be flirty or whatever he was doing. Second of, she was anything but beautiful. How could a tail and yellow eyes be beautiful?

"What's your name?" he asked before she could get to say anything to his other comment. Aileen placed her head on her knees and curled her tail around her legs. She felt exposed. "Aileen," she said with narrowed eyes. "My name is Aileen. And don't call me beautiful."

Simon was looking at something further down the hall, but Aileen couldn't see what was going on from where she was sitting. "I really thought they were more worried about her. I wonder what all that was about?" he said before turning his gaze back to Aileen. She looked at him confused, but he didn't seem to notice. "I don't want be rude, but could tell me what abilities you have?" The question made her uncomfortable, but she might as well answer him. Though she didn't trust him, she didn't want to be rude towards him. Her mutations weren't any secret anyways. "Uhm, I... I can see in the dark just as great as in the daylight. The color’s become a little different though... And I smell, taste, see and hear a little better than regular humans, but it's nothing major. I also have great balance, reflexes and agility. Oh, and I can do this," she held up a "paw" in front of her and in less than a second, she pinned a fly to the floor using a claw. "Let me guess... you probably have some kind of mental powers." She was slowly beginning to relax in his company, maybe it was because he seemed so calm.

Suddenly a doctor appeared and without saying anything, he began opening the cells, beginning with Alieen's. "What's going on?" Aileen asked and then realized that this was her chance to escape. She started panicking and instantly ran over towards Simon's cell when it was openened. "What now? What do I do? What, I... I.." She started to hyperventilate. She'd been waiting for this for so long and when it's finally there, she doesn't know what to do with herself.

"My power is, kind of mental," he smirked at his own joke. He should stop doing that. He had read a book where it said girls didn't like that. He seemed to have already offended her calling her beautiful. Perhaps a different word was more to her liking. His eyes drifted to her ears and tail and back to her eyes.

"In short you could say that I have a special memory. It comes in too parts. The first is Eidetic Memory which allows me to recall everything I have ever experienced. Perfect recall for all my senses. You could pick any day that I was alive and i could tell you exactly where I was, what I was doing, thinking, etc..." He noticed she seemed to be calmer now so he decided to continue.

"The second is called Adoptive Muscle Memory. Which means -" Simon stopped as he heard the opening of Aileen's door. When the doctor proceeded to open his he stepped out and followed him. He looked around to see if anyone else had noticed. There were no sounds of alert but he knew that a new guard shift would be changing any minute. He watched Angel knock him him.

He turned to Aileen and smirked.
"We get out of here."
J
'Angel!' he sent mentally. 'You gotta move fast. Another guard will be showing up down the southern corridor in one minute and another from the west thirty seconds after that.'

Sean headed in one direction taking looking at each of the mutants as he passed them.

A yell awoke Áine from her slumber.
Her first instinct was to panic, as being woken up by a scream in a laboratory certainly wasn't the first indication that nothing was wrong. She jumped up, banging her head from the top of the cage, making her sit back down again, her head only buzzing slightly. She turned her head around, looking for wherever the sound had come from.

Instead of finding the source of the scream, she found a few bewildered faces, looking at her as if she had gone mental. She crossed her legs and sighed, realizing that she was probably overreacting. It wasn't like a scream was uncommon in the lab, anyway. It was just that it was usually her screaming.

She glanced around and saw a few other subjects, like her, except with different abilities. She was about to call out, maybe say hello, when she noticed a scientist walking over from the corner of her eye. She turned around, nervously biting her lip, to face him.

"Wrist," the scientist said in a monotone voice. Without hesitation Áine stuck out her shaking wrist, turning her head to stop herself from seeing the injection. There was a slight pinch, and then the sound of footsteps fading away.

She turned back to the subjects, again about to say something, when suddenly a scientist came over to each of the cages and opened them, thinking nothing of it. As soon as her door was unlocked, she rushed out before it was closed again, but then stood there, not sure what to do. Where was she supposed to go? The lab was her life, and even if she did escape without being caught - which was highly unlikely - she wouldn't know where to go.

Then the little girl punched the scientist in the face.
"Let's go," she said, in the voice of a small child but with the effect of a grown man, as immediately Áine followed the child, not even knowing her name.

Angel nodded to Simon. They did need to get out of here right away, but she really hadn't of what to do once they got out of the cage. "Simon, where is the closest exit?" She asked, looking around. Tara wasn't moving. She frowned slightly. Simon, can you start leading people int the right direction? I'll catch up...Tara is being stubborn. She thought to Simon, urging him forward, watching him leave with the rest of the mutants. Then it was just her and Tara in the room, and she needed to act fast. She turned back to Tara, trying to make sense of her thoughts. "Tara, I know you aren't used to being anyplace else. And this is your life. But people hurt you here. You will be sold as a weapon. This isn't home. We are home. Us mutants. We are your family. Come with us. You'll make a new home." She pleaded. That whole speech was pretty convincing...sort of. She gave Tara a smile, her eyes sparkling.

Angel slid closer to Tara's cage, and pulled on her arm. Come on, Tara. I'm not leaving with out you. She thought to her, hoping maybe the mind messaging would work better. But it was too late, the guard Simon had mentioned had made his way in here, and he looked at them in alarm. Before Angel could react, he pressed a button on the wall, sending the whole building into a red flashing light frenzy, alarms blaring. "We need to get out of here!" Angel yelled to Tara.

Simon stepped out and pointed to the eastern corridor. His face was calm and serene as was his voice. He felt tired and just couldn't muster up a loud voice.

"The closest exit is this way, but I only have heard of it. Some staff mentioned coming in late during one of my sessions. They came from the eastern side of the building. Besides that it is all up in the air. My session was only two lefts and a right away. After that we might have to split up."

Simon wasn't a leader and really didn't want risk lives when he was not sure but he had deal with it now regardless.
"Carlisle I'll need you on point to scout ahead. Aileen if you could use your senses to keep an ear open for people coming from closed doors or from other hallways that would be a big help."

He resisted the urge to pet her fur and let a big sigh.

"Does anyone else have some sort of abilities involving perception? Something that could help find the exit faster?" Information is what was needed to get them out of there.

"Angel we need you to keep us informed about each other. You are going to have to relay information from Carlisle to us so that we know what he sees. Simon looked around around for Carlisle. "Uhm, did he actually get out of his cell yet?" he asked with confused tone.

Áine followed the rest of the mutants, unnoticed and unwanted. She had never seen herself to be one to disappear into the background, but she presumed that she was just being quiet as she was unused to this environment - freedom. She could almost taste it on her tongue.

She had a plan. None of the other mutants seemed to want her around, and she couldn't blame them. She was the chattering, annoying girl who's mutation didn't benefit anyone but herself. She wouldn't like her, either. They seemed to be ignoring her, or maybe they really just hadn't noticed her. Either way, it would work in her favor. She would follow them out, going unnoticed, and maybe even go with them to wherever they were planning to go after they got out. If they didn't want her then, she would be out of the lab, and would find her own way.

Well, that was hoping that they didn't try to ditch her before they found the exit. Then she would have to find it herself, which would be pretty impossible. If that did happen, she would be the only mutant left behind, which would be bad in itself, with no one for company, but she would also be the only mutant able to test on, so she wasn't going to last very long.

Yup, just stick to the crowd, blend in...
"Does anyone else have some sort of abilities involving perception? Something that could help find the exit faster?" It was the boy with white hair. He sounded strangely calm, for someone who could be shot down in a few seconds.

If anything, the question just confirmed something for Áine - she was completely worthless in the eyes of the mutants. Even her power was selfish. How was she supposed to use 'unable to die very easily' to others advantage? It was pretty much impossible.
