Yes. He was definitely losing his edge.

The kids were all exhausted before their bedtimes even came around, and Wolfswood felt the same. He laid down in the room that had been his, all that time ago, seeing how it had been kept exactly the same. Sister Mary had never given up hope that he was alive. And Milly would be so happy tomorrow! He'd be there before she woke up, and when she opened her eyes, he would be the first thing she'd see. He couldn't wat! Not to mention the opportunity to see the look of shock on Needle Noggin's face. He chuckled, then fell into a deep sleep, dreaming of all the possibilities tomorrow would bring.
(This next part is just after he wakes up, if you guys are still in the night before I'll wait a bit before the next post)
Wolfswood woke up at 4 in the morning, long before the light of day, and quietly made his way outside, dressed in fresh clothes from his closet, then rolled his motorcycle a bit down the road before firing it up. He made it to the house just as light was coming over the horizon, and made his way inside quietly, practically tip-toeing through the door.

After everything settled down that night everyone decided to go to bed, Milly got very early and did her usual run to the bathroom. It was supposed to be her day to stay home and take care of Knives but since he had woke up she thought it would be best if Vash stayed with him. After she came out of the bathroom to go downstairs and make some Ceylon tea. In the morning that was the only thing that settled her stomach and the baby had been kicking all night. She headed into the kitchen, "Alright son if you would stop kicking mommy for a minute I might be able to make ya something to eat", she said standing at the counter and rubbing her stomach. She started up the toaster and put the tea pot on the stove.

He finally decided to just do this simply, "Milly, it's me. I'm back." The priest said, smiling like a fool, pulling a slightly broken cigarette out from his shirt, and then searching his pockets for a lighter.

Milly heard her name and turned around, she stood there for moment blinking, she then put her hand on her stomach and started breathing hard. "Nick...", she breathed out, she took her fingers and pinched herself on the arm, she was so sure it was a dream, a dream she had, had so many times in the past six months. When she felt the pain she knew this wasn't a dream, she reached out slowly and touched her hand to his chest. "Nicholas how", it was then the room started to spin and she started to faint.

"Milly!" Wolfswood exclaimed as she started to drop, catching her in his firm arms, just a foot above the ground. His cigarette and lighter dropped to the ground, the lighter clanging metalically. "Are you alright? Milly, can you hear me?" He put his hand on her cheek, worrying that he had given her a heart attack or something.

Milly's eyes opened and looked up at the man she loved with every fiber of her being standing over her. "Nicholas is it really you I'm not dreaming again am I", she reached up and touched her hand to his cheek. It was warm and he had his typical slight stubble but most of all he was real and alive. She threw her arms around his neck and started to sob uncontrollably. "We thought you were dead how is this possible?". She berried her face into his shoulder and took in his scent he smelled of cigarettes and motorcycle exhaust how she missed that smell.

His eyes flashed to her stomach, swollen, like it was ready to burst, then back up to her eyes. He already knew it was his. Without even thinking about it, he knew. But he didn't know how to feel about it yet.
The teapot was almost screaming now, and he heard the toaster pop, but he payed it no mind.

She wiped tears from her eyes, "I just can't beleive it your actually here Mr. Vash and Meryl will be so excited". She then put her hand on her stomach as the baby kicked her , "Oh he's kicking!", she grabbed Wolfwood's hand and put his hand where the baby was going crazy. She chuckled, "Look at that he already knows who his daddy is", she looked up at Wolfwood she didn't know how he felt she knew this was the last thing he would have expected considering they had only been together once right before his fight with Chapel. "I'm so glad he gets to know his daddy though". She leaned over and kissed Wolfwood gently on the lips.

But he pulled away after what felt like forever, "It's the will of God that kept me alive Milly, to see this child grow up in a peaceful world, to protect him from everything that I ever knew." He thought of Chapel, Knives, and even that fool of a guardian Wolfwood had had as a child. They were all dead and gone now, right? "I won't let anything ever hurt us, Milly." He suddenly laughed in his usual manner, kind of foolishly, She always brings out the best in me, the parts I've never been able to get to. "I think the tea's ready." He said over the loud screeching of the teapot. "I'll be right back."
He went into the kitchen, picking up his cigarette, putting it into his mouth, and lighter, sliding it back into his pocket for the time being. He poured two glasses of tea and put the toast on a plate, buttered it, and brought it all out to Milly. He sipped at his cup from the side of his mouth, careful not to wet his unlit cigarette.

Milly squealed when Vash jumped out, "Look Mr. Vash it's Nicholas he wasn't dead after all isn't it a miracle", she said and clapped excitedly. She ate her toast and sipped her tea she was so happy she didn't know what to do first and then a thought crossed her mind. "Oh no Mr. Vash what about Mr. Knives?". She knew that Wolfwood was not going to be happy to know that the person that had tried to have him killed was living in the house, with Milly and their un-born child. It had now been a couple of hours around the time Milly would start getting ready to go to the orphanage and she knew that Trista would be stopping by as well. The young woman always stopped by on her way to the orphanage to talk to Milly on this day each week, or to walk Milly to the orphanage.

Trista got off at the bus stop that was still a ways away from Milly's house. She had never actually been in side always talking to her out on the porch in the morning. She had met Meryl on occasion when she was leaving out to go to work. And a couple of times Vash had come out just by chance or "Ericks", as Milly said. Milly I suppose wasn't very good at keeping secrets because Trista wasn't supposed to know that Vash, was actually "Vash The Stampede", the notorious gunman. But when Milly explained about Vash and everything that had happened over the years Milly had know Vash, Trista knew what he was. He was a mobile Plant, she had heard rumors of such a thing in documents she had studied, but never actually seen one. Until that one day he came outside while she was talking to Milly then she knew that her hypothesis was right. Trista had always got a feeling a sort of "sixth sense", when it came to plants. Even when she was a child she had been like this her father the plant manager would take her to work with him and she could feel the plant, the sadness, the love. She remembered talking to her father about it one time and he just got a sad look on his face and said it was nothing that just some people are sensitive to the power waves that are given of by the plants. He never took her back to work with him after that day telling her he was afraid it would make her sick with prolonged exposure. This was logical to Trista and she obeyed, that was the way she thought if it was logical it was true. But these mobile plants shot that idea all to hell and thats why she was so intrigued by Vash. He was what science said was impossible, and then Milly let it slip last week that not only was Vash living there but also that he had a twin brother named Knives. Knives... now this was another quandary she had just gotten used to the fact there was one mobile plant now Milly was telling Trista there were two. She had to get into the house and meet both of these timeless beings, they never aged, they never got sick, never got scared by serious injuries. Now there as something else she could relate with the plants as well. This was another mystery in Trista's life she had never been sick, also even now in her mid 20's she still looked like she did when she was 16, and when she got injured she would heal very quickly almost immediately sometimes. This always haunted her especially after Trista found out about the mobile plants. But that was almost impossible she had a father and he was human but her mother she never had known her mother. And her father would not speak of her, she was very young when she realized there was something her father was keeping from her. All of her personal quandary had taken up the entire long walk to Milly's house she walked up to the door, and she felt them both of them this meant one thing that Knives was no longer unconscious.

Milly heard someone walk up on the porch and then there was a knock, "Oh that must be Trista", she said. She opened the door to see the young girl there, "Oh Trista come in it's a miracle!", she grabbed Trista by the arm and pulled her in the house. Trista looked around the room as she was yanked in, Vash was standing there in his pajamas looking like he had just seen a ghost and there was a priest as well. Milly walked over to Wolfwood, "This is Nicholas the one that I told you about the baby's father", Trista gave Wolfwood an awkward wave. "Uh.. hello, uh Milly didn't you tell me he was dead", Milly smiled really big, "That's the miracle he wasn't he was alive just Mr. Vaaa.. I mean Ericks, mad a mistake". Milly blushed a little she almost let it slip again Meryl got onto her the last time that she had made that mistake of calling Vash by his real name in front of Trista. Trista chuckled at Millys attempt to correct her mistake, even though Trista already knew she really didn't care if he was Vash the Stampede or Ericks what she wanted know was more about him being a mobile plant. But she was glad that Milly's baby's father was alive she always seemed so sad when she talked about him she really did love him. "Milly are you going to the orphanage today or are you going to stay here and care for Knives?", Trista asked. Milly looked over at Wolfwood, "I would like to spend some time with him, but you see Mr. Knives woke yesterday afternoon so I assumed Mr.. I mean Ericks would take care of him". Trista looked at Vash so she had been right Knives had come out of the catatonic state, she knew that she had felt the increase in plant energy when she came up to the house. "What ever you choose to do is fine Milly maybe I should stay here and help since it seems that things are Kind of crazy", she said with a gentle smile. Milly grinned and clapped her hands together, "Oh really that would be wonderful I'm sure Meryl wouldn't mind if you helped". Trista nodded, "Then I'll stay and help".

In the kitchen was a myriad of people, the too-kind human girl named Milly, another girl, and a man that he had never himself come face to face with, but knew all too well. Though he was sure Nicholas Wolfwood would not take kindly to his presence, he wasn't really worried about that.. He crossed his arms and leaned against the doorway before directing his eyes to the girl he had not seen yet, the one he was catching a strange feeling from. She was, dare he say it, not exactly human. What did this mean for him? And for his brother? Did this mean that another experiment had survived?
Drawn out of his reverie by rising commotion, Knives resolved to leaving this question unanswered for now.

Trista was cooking eggs when she felt him, she knew it must be Knives because it felt different that Vash. Trista had learned over the years that different plants had different feels. Some where peaceful some chaotic and Knives was definitely chaotic. "Milly dear could you hand me that plate to put these eggs on", she asked trying not to let either Vash or Knives know that she knew what they actually were. Milly handed her the plate and she scrapped the eggs onto it and set it onto the table. She looked over at Knives and smiled sweetly, he looked like Vash but at the same time not. His hair was shorter and lighter than Vash's but their eyes where about the same color, they were about the same height and build but obviously brothers. It amazed her how human they looked she had seen the plants confined to the bulbs and they were slightly human looking but not like this. "If I'm correct they would be hundred's of years old since the first seeds ships crashed to earth", she said to herself, neither one of them looked over thirty.

Milly smiled as she took the big plate of toast she had been preparing to the table kissing Wolfwood on the cheek as she passed. It was then she also saw Knives leaning up against the wall. "Oh good morning Mr. Knives your just in time for breakfast", she said with a slight smile. Then she noticed how Trista was standing there staring at him, "Oh Trista this is Mr. Knives, Mr. Knives this is my friend Trista she volunteers out at the orphanage and her father is the plant manager of the city". Trista nodded at Knives, "Pleasure to make your acquaintance Mr. Knives", she said.

"Yes. Same to you," he stated without apprehension. He would probably not have bothered had she been human, but this was, maybe, different. He also knew that there was some secrecy in his brother's real name, but he saw no reason to conceal his own. For all most of the population knew, Knives had nothing to do with the July city incident. Besides, fear was not something he felt for the human race. They had nothing on him.
Without another word to the room, he turned from the kitchen and made his way upstairs. Stepping to the door he knew was Vash's, he turned the knob and stepped inside.
"Brother." He nodded to Vash, attempting to gauge his knowledge of the situation downstairs.
