Sister Mary

"Daniel!", she cried out, "Nicholas the child!".

Wolfwood

"Daniel!", yelled Wolfwood, he then ran after him catching up and scooping him up in his arms. The boy screamed, kicked, and yelling all the way back to the orphanage.

Daniel's screaming only grew louder when Wolfwood touched him; in retrospect, it probably wasn't the smartest idea to chase down and grab a child who'se fear stemmed from someone following him.

...

A ways down the road, a stranger witnessed the Daniel being chased and apparently kidnapped by a large and seedy looking man. The stranger charged the man and tackled him, wrestling the child free of his grasp. The stranger smiled at Daniel.

"There," said the stranger, his voice calm and soothing. "I won't let the scary man hurt you." This was a particularly bold statement considering that the stranger was unarmed. The man's presence seemed to calm Daniel, if only a little. The child stopped screaming and broke into sobs. The stranger turned to face Wolfwood.

"I don't know who you are," said the stranger, "but I think it's time you picked on someone your own size."

The stranger gave Wolfwood a cautious look but shook his hand anyway.

"Name's Tom Barrow," said the stranger. "If you don't mind me asking, why was, Daniel is it? Why was Daniel running down the road like the devil's on his tail? Excuse me if I don't take you at your word, but I've learned not to trust tall creepy men like yourself."

Wolfwood/Sister Mary

"Creepy, I'm a priest", soon Sister Mary came walking up, "I assure Mr. Barrow Mr. Wolfwood is legit. Daniel seems to be suffering from some sort of stress", she looked suspiciously at Tom something about him didn't feel "right" to her. She went and took the boy in her arms, "But that can be very common in children who are orphans". Woolfwood noticed Sister Mary's cation around this man and he knew her intuition was not something to take lightly. "Thanks man for helping", Wolfwood turned to head back towards the orphanage. Milly met them at the gate, "What happened?", she asked, Wolfwood walked through the gate and put his arms around Milly, "It's alright love everything's okay now".

Once the commotion had died down, the group got a good look at Tom. He was slightly taller than average, standing at 5'11" with brown hair, green eyes, and dressed in plain clothes. On the whole, his appearance was completely unmemorable. The only noticeable thing about Tom was the fact that he didn't appear to be carrying a weapon; something that was unheard of on Gunsmoke.

"I'm very sorry for the misunderstanding," said Tom. "I actually thought that you were trying to kidnap that boy. If there's anything I can do to make up for it, just let me know. By the way, there wouldn't happen to be any work available around here? I've had a hell of a time finding work ever since The Mute Gunman destroyed Ashmont."

Milly

Milly shook her head, "No I haven't this is news on me but I don't go into town that much maybe Meryl has heard something about it, or maybe Ericks he goes with Meryl sometimes to buy supplies". Sister Mary sat Daniel in Milly's lap and she started to stroke the boy's hair to try to quiet his sobbing. "Shh.. calm down Daniel its alright nothing can hurt you Big Sister has you now", she cooed. She just didn't understand why the usually happy go lucky boy was so frightened. The twins came up these to adorable boys reminded Milly of Mr. Vash and Mr. Knives the blonde hair and blues eyes. "Hello Dallas, hello Houston", she said to the identical boys. "Whats wrong with Daniel?", the boys said in unison, the boys shared a bunk with Daniel. She smiled at the boys, "He's just having a bad days boys", the two boys nodded and ran over to Wolfwood and started pulling on his hands.

"Ashmont's a small town out west," said Tom. "That's probably why you haven't heard of it. As for The Mute Gunman, how have you not heard of him? He's a legend! He wipes out entire towns without making a sound; that's why they call him The Mute Gunman. He's destroyed ten towns so far. I was just lucky that I was out of town when he hit Ashomnt. He doesn't leave any survivors. Guess that's why they put the $$60,000,000,000 bounty on his head.

"Anyway, I'm exhausted from my travel. I decided that it would be a good idea to put as much distance between myself and The Mute Gunman as possible in case he decided to kill me too. I know it's paranoid, but I'm not taking any chances. Don't suppose you could take kindness on a weary stranger and give me a place to stay for the night? I'll do whatever chores need doing in order to repay you. What do you say?"

...

Daniel looked up at Milly. He had calmed down during the trip back to the orphanage, but was still obviously nervous. He still occasionally glanced over his shoulder, but it was more to check that he wasn't being followed anymore instead of trying to find whatever he thought was following him earlier.

"Is the nice man going to stay?" he asked. "I know he hit Big Brother, but he didn't mean to. He thought Big Brother was a bad guy trying to hurt me."

Sister Mary

Sister Mary still wasn't sure about this man, she had never met him before and he was running around in the wastes with out a gun. She was a Nun and still carried a gun under her habit, but that was also because that she was trained along with Chapel as well. It also what made her a little less Christ like than a typical Nun, "I tell you what young man we have a shed out in the back that has a bed used to be a maintenance shed, no offense but you could stay out there. Seeing as we have children, and I don't know you from Adam". She motioned Tom to follow her.
_______________
Milly

Milly sat down Daniel and encouraged him to go play with the other children. That's when the twins came back over again they got on either side of Milly and hugged her neck. "Big sister", they whispered "can we come over and spend the night at you and Big brothers house?", the twins had become attached Milly over the past 6 months. They had already come and spent the night with Mill once and really enjoyed their time with Vash. But now their Big brother was back, "Hmm.. I tell you what I'll ask Big brother and Sister Mary and we'll see okay", she whispered back to the boy. They smiled real big and went to go play.

"Thank you kindly," said Tom, flashing her his most charming smile. "I understand your concern: I'd do the same thing if I were in your shoes. I spent my last double dollar on water earlier today, so I can't pay for the room, but, like I said, I'll be more than happy to do any work you throw my way."

Wolfwood smirked as he overheard the twins asking if they could come over, and then walked over to Milly as they ran off to play. "Sure, Mill, it'd be fine with me. But, I've gotta be truthful, I was kinda looking forward to spending the night with you." He said in coy voice, but then his tone became more serious, "So what do you think of Mr. Barrow?" He asked in a hushed voice.

Milly

Milly winked at Wolfwood,"Just cause they spend the night doesn't mean they stay in our room they usually just sleep on the couch" she giggled. When he asked about Tom she shrugged her shoulders, "He seems like a good enough guy to me Nick I think he's a little on the strange side to run around with out a gun. But maybe he's just like Mr. Vash and doesn't like killing"she then went to let the twins know the could spend the night but not to tell any of the others. The twins were playing ball with each other and jumped for joy after Milly told them. "Well it getting to get a little late we should let Sister Mary know that we're taking Dallas and Houston tonight and then get home", she took the twins by the hands.

Sister Mary

"Well Mr. Barrow that would be greatly appreciated", she looked at the bed in the shed and saw it needed bedding and such, "Sister Mary??", she heard Milly call. Stepping out of the shed, "Yes, child?", she asked, Milly smiled big with twins hanging on her arms; "Sister Mary Nick and I are going to take the twins to spend the night at our house tonight is that okay?". Sister Mary smiled the twins had spent the night with Milly before and so had many of the other orphans, "I don't see why not", answered Sister Mary. The boys giggled and jumped up and down, "Yay!" they squealed in unison, their blue eye bright with laughter. Sister Mary always loved this about Milly because it gave the children a little time to fee like a real family for once. With the twins now dragging her away Milly turned and waved and they left. Sister Mary then turned her attention back to Tom, "Mr. Barrow if you would follow me into the church I'll get you some linens for this bed and a good meal in ya".

"Please don't go out of your way on my account," said Tom. "I can set up the bed myself. I'll head in for lunch when I'm done."

...

One of the older girls, Clarice, began behaving strangely as well. Shortly after Daniel returned to the orphanage, Clarice began giving the other children strange looks, like she suspected them of something. Clarice was usually kind and supportive of the other children, especially the younger ones, but today it seemed like she didn't trust anyone. As Tom was setting up his bed, Clarice was herd yelling at one of the younger girls.

"Where is it?" she screamed. "Where did you hide it, you little brat?"

Sister Mary

Sister Mary took Clarice aside, "Now child calm down and tell me what the problem is" she took the young girls face in her hands to try to keep her attention as the girl kept looking back at the children. The only thing that Mary could think of is there was something not right lately the children had been acting strangely and the Nun didn't like it.

Milly

Milly held Dallas and Houston's hands as they walked back to the house, "Big Sister?", asked Dallas he was the one that reminded Milly of Vash. A goofy little boy who often got in trouble, "Are we gonna get to play with Mr. Ericks when we get there?", Dallas continued. Milly smiled at Dallas, "I think so depending on if he wants to, his brother just woke up you remember Mr. Knives", she said. "Their twins like us right Big Sister?", said Houston, he was the one that reminded Milly of Knives. A quiet little boy who spends most of his time with his brother and easy to anger. Houston would often times get frustrated with the other orphans and lash out. But Dallas was always there to make sure he was alright. Dallas smiled over at Wolfwood and then ran over to take his hand leaving Milly with Houston. "So Houston you look like you have something on your mind you want to talk about it?", asked Milly. Houston looked up at her with his big blue eyes, "Are you going to leave the orphanage now that Big Brother is back or will we still get to see you?", asked Houston with a sad look in his eyes. "Of course you'll still get to see me", she smiled down at the boy and he smiled back.

"My brush," shouted Clarice. "That brush belonged to my mother, it's the only thing I have left of her and this little brat stole it!"

Clarice broke down into sobs. Something was indeed strange about the situation. Until today, Clarice had never once raised her voice, not even to be heard over a crowd but now she had all of a sudden lost her temper. Upon further inspection, it turned out that her brush had been where she had left it that morning. Clarice was dumbfounded.

"But it was gone earlier!" she exclaimed. "She must have put it back to avoid getting in trouble!"

This claim was ridiculous, seeing as the younger girl in question had not left Sister Mary's sight since the entire incident started.

...

After finishing with his bed, Tom made his way into the orphanage. He smiled at the children, who seemed to take an instant liking to him. Many insisted that he play with them, but he just replied "I've got some chores to do first. I'll play once they're done." He walked into the house.

"Sister Mary?" he called out. "I'm done making my bed. Is there anything you need my help with?"

Wolfwood looked down, smiling at Dallas as he gripped firmly on his hand, "Hello, Dallas, how have you been? Taking good care of the others I hope."

"Of course I have Big Brother!" He was holding his head high, "Sometimes I have to keep Houston out of trouble though." He said in a hushed voice, "But now you're back! I'm so happy you did!"

"Me too. And now I'm still gonna have to figure out a way to get some extra money for the orphanage." He said vacantly, to himself, "But not for a while yet. You know that Milly is soon going to have a baby?"

"Your baby, Big Brother?"

"Yes, Dallas, my baby." He said with a smile.

"Are you going to leave us when you have kid all your own?" He said with a worried look.

Wolfwood laughed, "I would never leave. The baby can be your little neice or nephew. You can help us, you can be uncle Dallas."

"Yeah!" Dallas exclaimed, jumping up into the air and then running circles around Wolfwood as they walked, "Uncle Dallas!" The boy said, laughing.

Milly

As Milly and Wolfwood stepped into the house she called out, "We're home and we brought some visitors", Trista who had stayed to help clean house and cook dinner peeked out of the kitchen. "Hello Milly", she said when the twins saw that Trista was there they went running to her, "Oh my hello boys how are you?", she knelled down and hugged them. "Big brother and big sister said we could spend the night are you going to spend the night too Miss Trista?", asked Houston, Dallas gave her puppy dog eyes, "Please Miss Trista spend the night with us?". Both boys were practically begging, Milly chuckled "I don't see why not if you don't mind sleeping on the couch, we can always make a little spot on the living room floor for the twins", she said with a smile at Trista. Trista smiled back, "Well boys since you really want me to I suppose I will", the boys started to cheer and march around the room. Milly smiled it was starting to feel like home to her, at her parents house it was always full of people but it was also full of love. She put her arms around Wolfwood's neck, "I love you Nick", then she kissed him.

Trista

Trista looked at the couple and smiled it was nice to see Milly so happy ever since she had met her she thought she was so sad. But now that the man she loved was back she truly was happy. Trista had never been in love and often wondered if it would ever happen. If she would ever have her own children and be a mother and wife. "Well I need to finish dinner why don't you boys go into the living room for a while", the boys nodded and did as they were told.

"Hello, Miss Trista." Wolfwood greeted her as they all came walking through the door. He laughed at the boys parading around the living room, "Seems like we'll have a full house tonight."

He was caught a little unaware by Milly's kiss, but after a split second he leaned into it and wrapped both his arms around her, and when he had his mouth free, said, "I love you too." He laughed as her scent filled his nostrils, remembering the first night they had been together, "You smell nice." He said, those were the same words he had said then, before he went out to fight Chapel.

Houston and Dallas

As Wolfwood and Milly started to get things ready for the sleep over, Dallas started to get bored, "Psst brother lets go find Ericks and see if he wants to play", he say to Houston. Houston smirks, "Yeah lets see if we can sneak attack him", said Houston. The boys tiptoe away and up the stairs without being noticed, they go to Vash's door and find it unlocked, they notice Vash sleeping on the bed. Houston counts with his fingers, and then they pounce onto Vash, "WAKE UP MR ERICKS!", they jump on wither side of Vash's head. "Wake!", says Houston, "Up!", says Dallas, they giggle and jump.

Knives

OCC((Everybody Ride on Technology is having computer issues and gave me permission to post for Knives))

Knives heard his brother yelling like a mad man from his room Knives opened his door and looked down the hallway. "What is he doing?, Has he truly lost his mind?", he walked down the hall way and opened the door. He found Vash with two young boys in a headlock, upon further examination the boys were twins. "Vash what are you doing really how old are you?", said Knives. Houston and Dallas looked up at Knives, "Oh Mr Ericks why did your brother call you Vash?", they asked in unison. Knives's eyes grew wide as he got a good look at the boys faces they greatly resembled Vash and himself at their approximate age. Then he realized the boys didn't know Vash's true identity so he backtracked a bit, "Oh thats just a nick name I have for Mr. Ericks", he said. Houston pulled out of Vash's headlock and looked up at Knives, "Hi I'm Houston and this is my brother Dallas we're twins too", he said. Knives slightly smirked at the boy that reminded him of himself, "Yes I can tell", he said the boy smiled slightly at him, "Would you play with us too Mr. Knives?", Houston asked. Knives was taken aback for a moment wondering how the boy knew his name but he assumed Vash had spoken to them about him. "I'm not very good at playing Houston, but I'm sure Ericks will enjoy spending time with you", Knives turns to go back to his room, "Have fun brother", he said and then quickly made his way to his room quickly closing the door behind him. He sat down on his bed and put his head in his hands, "There's something wrong with me, first feelings for that woman and now this child brings back memories of.... Rem".

Trista
Trista went upstairs to get the boys she heard laughing and playing. She stopped and knocked on Knives door, "Knives dinner", then she went to Vash's room. Vash was wrestling on the floor with the boys she chuckled, "Ericks boys it's time for dinner", the boys cheered and left Vash in a heap on the floor. Trista went over and helped Vash up, "Come on you big kid its time for dinner". Then she headed back down stairs.

Sister Mary started to bring out food for the children basically rice and chicken curry. "Children take you seats I hope everyone washed their hands. Now we will say grace". The children bowed their heads as Sister Mary offered a prayer over the food. As soon as she finished bowls began to be passed around the table, filled with food, and then sent back around. Before long everyone had food and was enjoying the meal.

Tom bowed his head along with the children. He had never really liked religion, but he didn't want to offend his host. When it was time to eat, he raised his head and ravenously dug into his food. It wasn't until he was helping himself to seconds that he paused to slow down and actually enjoy the food.

"Sorry," he said. "I haven't eaten in a few days, so I'm a bit hungrier than usual."
