Prince Nyks wandered around the halls of Castle Aivr, not sure what to do with himself. He didn't feel in the mood to go riding today, or practice his archery. His miniature dragon, Pyp, sat on his shoulder. Nyks glanced at the tiny dragon, and Pyp gave Nyks a look that said, It's not my fault you're bored. Figure out something to do. What Nyks really wanted to do was talk to Hanna, but he knew that doing so would require a very long walk or ride through the forests to their meeting place, and he couldn't even be sure that Hanna would be there. He sighed.

Zallia followed Prince Nyks faithfully. She didn't speak. She didn't mumble or hum or even smile. She simply walked behind him as she had done for almost twenty years. It was her duty as his Guardian, and she was happy to perform her task with confidence and efficiency. It was how she had always done things. With one hand on the hilt of her sword, she tucked a stray hand behind her ear, glancing around alertly. To anyone that didn't know her, Zallia did not even resemble a threat. She wore a standard Elvish dress and her sword was practically hidden in the folds of her skirt. Her feminine figure also drew away from her actual occupation. However, to those that lived in the castle or people that had crossed blades with her before, Zallia was a deadly efficient Guardian with a loyalty deeper than any chasm in Drawin.
The Prince sighed and she glanced over at him, "Is there something troubling you, Your Highness?"

Nyks smiled at her. "You don't have to call me 'Your Highness', Zallia. Just Nyks is fine." He thought for a second before asking, " Zallia, I was wondering... would you have time to teach me how to fight with a sword?"

Zallia knew the Prince had to be bored. She nodded slowly, tapping the hilt of her sword. "Oh course, Your- Nyks... Shall we go to the training grounds?"

(Whoops... posted it in the wrong place... Haha...)

The young prince grinned and nodded. "Thank you. You're probably not looking forward to training a daft imbecile like me when it comes to wielding a sword." Nyks smiled at her. "And thanks for calling me Nyks."

Zallia waved her hands in front of her frantically, "It's nothing like that. I would be honored to teach you the way of the sword, Y-Nyks... A prince should know every way to protect themselves, if I'm not around, that is."
She let her hands drop to her sides. "I am honestly happy you want to learn how to wield a sword."

Gali Tade

Gali floated on the wind like a leaf in a storm, letting it pull at his arms and legs and carry him wherever it ordained was proper. Which tended to work out for the worst a majority of the time. He sighed happily and shut his eyes, only to be caught upon some castle tower. He frowned as the wind slowly died and left him hanging there by his collar.
"Oh, that's the fifth time this week!" he cried. He shook his head and climbed a little ways up the tower to free himself, and simply... pushed himself away from the tower, and began to slowly fall. Just then the wind picked up and nearly flung him through an open window! He gasped and grasped at the window's ledge to keep himself from being tossed into the castle, and sighed again. He seemed to sigh quite often... Frowning, he looked down into the castle, apparently this was the hall, only to find a pair of elves talking, apparently about sword training? He looked at his own sword, strapped to his side, and wondered how skilled a prince of elves could be with a blade.

Before the Prince could reply, Zallia heard a noise. It was soft and most people wouldn't have noticed it, but Zallia was trained the notice the overlooked. She discreetly placed her hand on her sword, not even glancing towards the sound. She looked at the Prince, "Well, shall we go?"

Nyks nodded, and as soon as he and Zallia were far enough away, he asked her, "What's wrong? You heard something, didn't you?" After 20 years, he had gotten very good at reading Zallia's silent hints. He looked at her, still impressed by her skills after knowing her for so long.

Zallia nodded. "Someone's in the castle. And I don't think he's here to visit your parents," she looked over at the Prince. "Just act as if nothing is wrong and follow me. I heard a small clatter, which could mean a weapon. We can't let him near you."
She walked down the hall quickly, making sure the Prince could still keep pace with her. She glanced back once or twice, but didn't make it obvious.

Nyks nodded and kept pace with his Guardian, hiding one of his small belt daggers in his sleeve, just in case. Having been in situations like this before, he felt fairly comfortable in acting normal when he felt like the situation was everything but that, and he trusted Zallia, as well as his own skills.

She saw Nyks slip a dagger into his sleeve and barely smiled. She wished he wasn't in these situations as much as he actually was, but that was the life of a Prince. As they passed a guard, she pulled him aside, "Intruder. Alert others."
The guard nodded his head and hurried away. Zallia opened the door to one of the nearby rooms and ushered Nyks in, locking the door behind them. The first thing she noticed was that they were in the kitchen. The second thing was that everyone was staring at them. She put her finger to her lips and they all returned to their work. Zallia glided over to an apron rack and pulled down two. "Put this on," she instructed Nyks.

Nyks smiled, but nodded. After all, Zallia always knew best. He put the apron on and gently slid Pyp off his shoulder and into one of the apron pockets. The bright orange dragon would cause notice, and since he was the only one in the castle who kept a miniature dragon, the sight of Pyp would surely give away his identity. By the way Zallia was acting, it would be best if they didn't draw attention.
Pyp squawked quietly at having to leave Nyks' shoulder, but Nyks hushed the tiny dragon, and it remained silent.

Zallia pulled an apron over her own head, she didn't wear the finest clothes, so she could blend in a bit more than the prince, but walking with a "servant" could draw attention to them. She smiled softly when Pyp protested. She would be lying if she said she didn't have a soft spot for the small dragon. She shook her head as she grabbed a random platter, "I fear your father might think I'm causing another unneeded uproar. I didn't recognize this sound though, it wasn't Elvish steel, I can tell you that."

Gali Tade

Gali tilted his head and smiled behind his mask at their whispering, the wind was quite gossipy if you took the time to listen. Apparently he was an intruder here, and that he was possibly a threat to the prince. He chuckled to himself and waited for them to leave the hall before descending to the floor, his fall like that of a feather, his feet barely making a sound on the lavish floor. Well... at this point he probably was intruding, but that was only a secondary thought, and not a major concern of his. After all, the wind will go where it will. He seemed to glide across the floor, his feet barely touching the hard tiles. He grinned and danced his way to the door they'd vanished behind and gave the knob a twist. Locked. Shrugging, he laid flat on the ground, and seemed to become transparent. He slipped through under the door and stood up, becoming more human in shape once more. The sudden burst of hot air from the kitchen hit him like a wave and he forced himself into a "solid" state. He grinned wider at the faces that turned to look at him, the prince and his guard included.

"Good afternoon ladies and gentleman, your highness." He bowed politely, waltzed into the room, and wandered past the odd pair and every chef with a skip in his step and not a care for the world, letting the hot air carry him through the room between each step.

The Wind Spirit slipped under the door and into the kitchen. She knew it seemed like an elaborate way to draw him out, but she felt it was needed and it had worked after all. "Good afternoon ladies and gentleman, your highness."
Zallia smiled falsely at the intruder, she had heard him walking in the hall. "Good afternoon, Wind Spirit. What brings you to the castle, if I may be so bold?"
She gave him a flourished curtsey. It was easy to tell what he was. No human or elf in the entire world could move so quietly or slip under a door. She had only met one other Wind Spirit in her life and she found them quite interesting. However, this one was intruding in the castle. He would have to tread much more carefully if he did not want to be heard by her.

Pyp crawled out of the apron pocket and back onto Nyks' shoulder. Nyks tried to push the little dragon back, but Pyp gave him a look that said What's the point? He already knows who you are. Pyp then squawked at the newcomer, almost glaring.
Nyks knew a bit about Wind Spirits, but the fact that one decided to follow them was confusing, to say the least.

Gali Tade

Gali frowned and turned back to the pair, arching an eyebrow at her curtsey and couldn't help but grin at her feigned politeness. He chuckled as the wind whispered in his ear. Intruder. Threat to the prince. He sat down on a counter and let his legs dangle. The kitchen staff was less than happy about it, but they seemed to just migrate around him, like ants moving around something in their path. He kicked his legs and watched the chaos that was the kitchen.

"Why, the wind brought me here of course! Why on terra-firmma would I be here otherwise?" He picked up an apple and turned it in his hands. He found a knife on the counter and cut it into slices. "Besides, you left your window open."

"Why, the wind brought me here of course! Why on Terra-Firma would I be here otherwise? Besides, you left your window open," he explained as he cut up an apple.
Ah, Zallia could see the problem now. She still had to wonder why on Terra-Firma he had touched his sword. "Would you like me to escort you out of the castle, Wind Spirit? It would be a shame to stay cooped up in here."
She took off the apron, seeing no point in it, and smooth down her skirt. Her sword was still more or less hidden in the folds of her skirt, but she felt no need for it unless he made the first move. It did not matter what he did as long as he didn't touch the Prince.

Nyks took off his own apron too, and as Zallia offered to escort the Wind Spirit out of the castle, Pyp made a protesting noise. Nyks glanced at the dragon. Pyp, though small, still had all the skills and wisdom of his larger brethren. The tiny orange creature had never looked so mad at anyone. A small puff of smoke emitted from Pyp's nose and floated up to the ceiling. Nyks frowned, petting the dragon's head to try to calm it. If Pyp sent smoke, it meant he was threatening fire, and for such a small dragon, he had a lot of it.
