♝ Getting to Know Me Better ♗
╚═════════════════╝

❀This is my life: What can be said about Lucifer? His up bringing was about the same as his siblings, he kept quiet and did what he was told. He took quite a bit of verbal abuse from his father, and recieved little comfort from both his siblings and his mother. Eventually he began to resent his father, though he knew he couldn't raise his hand against him. He kept quiet like always, and he did what he was told. Emotions built up inside him, pent up anger and frustration eventually vented itself through sudden outbursts. During these tantrums Lucifer would destroy entire rooms, even whole buildings. This gave him a bad reputation and only served to lower his standing with his family, over the years he became uncaring and unloving towards siblings and family, infact he openly bad-mouthed them. He would often spend his time loitering around the slums of the city, getting himself drunk off his ass and beating up weaklings who crossed his path. He became a profanity-filled punk with little cares other than for himself. However after a mere few months of this behaviour his father put a stop to his chaotic and shameful behaviour, cleverly he allowed Lucifer to vent his anger through combative training, he was given a longsword and told to train with the kingdoms best soldiers, and so he did. Though Lucifer was still a crude and brash boy, he began to refine himself into a fearsome warrior. He had yet to know the experience of killing a man, but besides that he was now as good as the shadow kingdoms greatest warriors. When he heard about the planned marriages he was obviously distressed. He wholesomely loathed the idea of marrying some stranger, besides, he already had his eyes set on another one....

Image
❀Sometimes I act like this: Lucifer is crude, he swears and spits and shouts, he takes things to the extreme whenever possible. He's brash, even reckless, despite this he is sharp and cordinated in battle, perhaps even bordering on cool-headed. He's a clever one, constantly thinking up new pranks or ways to get out of tough situations. He prefers solitude over company, he doesn't care much for socializing, and when he does he doesn't show any kind of reserve, making it a point to be pronounced and extrovert. Despite all of this he's friendly as long as you don't irritate him with petty questions or mindless chatter. When he's aggrivated he can be quite troublesome, irritation quickly turns to frustration, and that to anger, and eventually his anger will turn to rage, and once he is enraged he cannot be stopped until his thirst for violence is sated. As far as romance goes he's pretty hopeless, he can't write up amazing poems or regale his lovers with enchanting praises, nor can he understand them. Love to Lucifer is something that he doesn't quite understand, and even if he does begin to feel something for someone he would scarcely tell them, no, he wouldn't even give them a hint until he was absolutely sure. Lucifer protects his family with deadly resolve, when it comes to his own kin he doesn't mess around, he will hunt down and eliminate any threats to his family. Lucifer doesn't spar unless it is with his personal trainers, infact he makes it a point to refuse all duels unless they are to the death. When it comes to feeding Lucifer prefers to drink blood from wine glasses, drinking it straight from the 'tap' disgusts him, he finds it to be quite primitive. Plus he can better savor the taste of his meal when drinking from a glass. With all of that said, it is important to note that Lucifer is quite violent, he'll beat the crap out of any weaklings that cross him and torment anyone that annoys him, and if anyone questions or tarnishes his pride he will challenge them to a duel to the death, refusal would mean discarding ones honor as not only a warrior and royalty, but also as a man.

Levi: Ever since Lucifer was young he was regarded as one of the strongest vampires, his embedded abilities seemed to be oriented towards combat. With his training he would maximize his potential, and thus levi was born. Levi is the name that Lucifer has given his supernatural speed. Some would say he is faster than light itself, and while that is a massive overstatement, his speed and quick foot work is nothing to turn ones head at. He can move just about as fast as the human eye can track him, when he is moving as fast as he can he may disappear momentarily, or become blurred, sometimes he can disappear for a few seconds entirely. With his overwhelming speed Lucifer can usually dodge most of his opponents attacks, and infact dance around them without a care in the world, opponents that wish to defeat him must be clever and learn to predict his movements or otherwise somehow turn the entire battleground into a hazzard

Amoveo Confringet: This ability allows Lucifer to essentially break free from the abilities of his enemies, whether it be from a paralyzing stare, some sort of poison, or even being stunned with something. Any effects that would inhibit his movement or strength is broken immediatly upon contact, however enough exposure of the effect can allow some of it to slip through and affect Lucifer, as a side effect Lucifer's sense of pain is heightened, so while he may not be inhibited directly the pain that it causes may do the job.

❀Other: He keeps a steel longsword on him at all times, it is his weapon of choice and he is fiercely skilled in wielding it. He has had a crush on Minzy since childhood, although he was always too embaressed to admit it, and if he did it would've meant trouble for the both of them. Since then it has developed into something similar to love. By now he knows that such forbidden desires is impossible, and has tried desperately to get rid of his love for her, but to no avail. He is distraught, though it remains in the back of his mind. As a result of this he is fiercely protective of Minzy, and sometimes even is jealous when other males are around her. As one could imagine, this whole talk of arranged marriages has him paniced and distraught.

Lucifer Anderson

Where are you going, Minzy? Where are you going? Don't leave me, I don't like being alone. It's dangerous out there, please don't go... A shadowy veil surrounded Lucifer, it was almost like a mist. A second ago he was holding hands with Minzy, but for some reason she left, why? Her figure faded slowly, slowly, it was agonizing. The shadows around Lucifer closed in, it was almost suffocating him, one question remained in his mind: Why did she leave me? The darkness entered Lucifer's every orifice, a cold numbness filled his body, it was similar to ice. He tried to scream, but no words came, only muffled gurgles. And then he woke up. He nearly jumped to his feet, the fear that had filled him was almost palpable. He was heaving violently, gasping for air. After a few moments he regained his senses, he caught his breath and he returned to his usual indifferent self. He simply sat there on his bed, minutes past as he sat there frozen in place. "Today is the day, isn't it..." He frowned slightly, so many thoughts flooded his mind. He was going to be married to some pampered human, and Minzy would be married to some prideful weakling. He clenched his teeth and grinded them slowly. He balled his hands into fists and with one decisive movement he stood himself up, rotated his back to face the wall behind his bed, took a step forward and punched the wall with his right hand. The wall didn't crack, over the years his father had replaced Lucifer's walls with stone, it was the only thing he could do to avoid the constant repair costs that came with Lucifers violent tendancies. It worked very well, unfortunately for Lucifer the hard stone often bruised and cut his hand whenever he punched it. His heightened sense of pain had been troublesome for all of his life, even something small like having his finger pricked with a needle was as painful as being stabbed with a blade. Though because of this he developed a high tolerance for the oh so familiar sting of pain. His fist oozed a few drops of red liquid, blood.

Lucifer pulled his hand back, examining his knuckles, sure enough there was a nasty-looking gash in between his index and middle finger. He brought it closer to his mouth and licked it once, just to keep the blood from spilling onto the carpet. He heard a knock at the door, "Come in." He said in a most indifferent manner. The door swung open and a pretty looking maid entered. Lucifer turned to the maid, who must've been a little surprised to see him up already. She stuttered when trying to speak her mind, something Lucifer had no patience for. "Shut up and go get me a bandage." He ordered the maid, flashing his minor wound at the maid, who seemed shocked to see him injured. She rushed out of the room, Lucifer wandered over to his dresser and opened it up. It was full of formal wear, "Gah, those bastards, i'm not some doll they can dress however they please.." Despite this Lucifer was certain that he was already late, he didn't have time to complain and try to find something different to wear. Grudgingly he put on the formal wear. The strange outfitt made him feel uncomfortable, it was tight and restricted his movement, nonetheless it would suffice. He grabbed his custom made mask. The mask suited him, thankfully he had at least some choice in his attire, however small it may be. He slid the mask into one of his coat pockets before walking out from his room. The maid from before arrived with a roll of gauze and some string to secure it. "You have some medical experience, right? Surely you can bandage this up." Lucifer extended his hand for the maid to bandage, after a few moments the deed was done and the wound was nicely wrapped up. "You have my thanks. Now leave my sight." He said with little emotion, he felt the bandage a bit with his other hand. He began to take a stroll down to the wine cellar.

By the way the servants were acting it would seem that his siblings had already left. Lucifer was always the last to wake up, mainly because anyone that disturbed him would find themselves losing at least one extremity. Finally after nine or ten minutes of walking he reached he wine cellar, thankfull it was abandoned. He grabbed a leather bag from the floor and slid out one of the many wine bottles. The type, taste, or age didn't matter to him, all that mattered was if it was going to get him drunk. He dropped the bottle into the leather bag and walked out, carrying the bag by it's handle. Once he was outside he saw a carriage and a gruff looking man at the front, drifting off into a stupor. "Hey, Raphael, wake up, it's time to go." Raphael was his usual driver, perhaps the only one that could deal with Lucifer and not go insane. He was as wise as he was old. Often times Lucifer would find himself sucked into deep and engrossing conversations with him, he had an interesting past so talking to him was always entertaining. The old man raised his head and glanced at Lucifer, "Ah, finally up I see? Hurry up and get in, your sisters already left fifteen minutes ago." Lucifer smirked a bit and boarded the carriage. Finally he was on his way to the border where he would meet the human royalty, and his spouse. He had a pleasant conversation with Raphael, but he couldn't shake the feeling of helplessness. He didn't care so much about himself marrying, but the thought of his older sister Minzy being married...It was unbelievable. He hated when any man got close to her, his jealousy made him sick. But now she would be married, she'd be forced to partake in a romantic relationship, and maybe eventually...Bear children.

No, the very thought of that enraged him, he would kill Minzy's spouse before that happened. He took in a deep breath, what was he thinking? Of course he couldn't do that, he was helpless. No matter how much power he wielded it didn't matter, this was bigger than himself, both kingdoms wanted this. Peace... He thought, what was wrong with war? He didn't care for the humans, they were weak, their only strength lying in their ability to control elements, hell, Lucifer would even lead his father's armies into battle if he gave him the chance. He fought warriors twice as strong as any human every day. "Young master, what's wrong? Do you feel sick?" Raphael interrupted Lucifer's thoughts. He realized, he hadn't been talking for at least a few minutes. He glared out the window, "Sick? I guess you could say that. I'm sorry Raphael, but I think I would prefer to soak in the scenery now." Raphael gave a quick nod and kept quiet for the rest of the journey, Lucifer simply gazing out at the countryside, it was better not to worry himself now. After what seemed like ages he arrived at the castle, it was quite a view to be sure, but for obvious reasons he wasn't too thrilled. He noticed a carriage arriving about at the same time as his, it must've been from the kingdom of light. He donned his mask and lef the carriage, strolling over to Celestine, the leather bag tucked under his right arm and his left in his pants pocket. He couldn't tell what Celestine was thinking, but it must've been a little intimidating to be the first to greet all four of the human royalty. He kept himself facing the light kingdom's carriage, he remained silent, his bored expression hidden behind his mask.

Lyra began taking deeper breaths sliently. The anticipation was one she didn't think any person could be use to. She had dealt with her father's court, important decisions, and tests of her dignity all through her lifetime, but nothing could prepare her for this. As soon as all her siblings had exited the carriage, she heard the scuttling of feet approach them. Different maids and what looked like butlers, hurried around them. Their carriage was unbuckled from the horses while the horses were led away, leaving Lyra and her siblings alone to face their future.

Lyra was wishing her own maids, and friends, were around her now, but her father hadn't permitted any extra companions. She stood firmly next to Aurora and set a hopeful hand against her shoulder blades. She could sense the tension among them, but couldn't do much, even she was too nervous to speak. The closing of another carriage next to them caused her to flinch, which she didn't do very often. Her brother's pranks had cured her of any tedious fears. Marrying a vampire was not on that list though.

She held her breath as the two families were left to each other. Lyra could only see a few of their suitors though and wondered what kept the others. The suitors she saw though, were a bit intimidating. They stood tall and firm, the way her parents use to before scolding one of them. This brought a little anger through her veins. The vampires already seemed full of pride and ignorance, which might be tolerable for her siblings, but not for Lyra.

Immediately after she caught sight of the vampires, Aurora began to study them. Two were absent. The taller, beautiful woman whom she suspected to be the eldest sister looked bored and tired. From the way she was standing and the expression on her face, Aurora could tell she was strict, cold, and without much emotion. The other, the younger man standing next to her was practically exuding revulsion and anger. She didn't need to see his facial expression; She could feel it coming off of him in a form of negative energy, creating tension in the air. From what she could tell, if all the suitors had such hard, abrasive personalities, then the future ahead would be a rocky one.

Even so, Aurora curtsied and introduced herself. "My name is Aurora Rose Richeson, youngest of the Light Kingdom household. It is a pleasure to meet you." Aurora forced herself to meet the eyes of both vampires. Her tone was calm and even, and pleasant. Though she was not naturally a very enthusiastic person, when needed Aurora could summon the energy required to sound or look any way she so desired. However, Aurora did not try to smile. If there was one thing that could be seen through easily other than the eyes, it was the mouth. For the mouth tended to follow the eyes, and if the eyes were not "smiling," then any smile would look like it had been plastered on her face.

~I hope the night will not be so filled with such formalities that it will be long and tedious. I pray that the fear of making a mistake will not be so overwhelming that it keeps us from being ourselves. Fake appearances will not do on a night such as this.~

Lonán Samil Richeson

I've made a mistake.

Lonán cursed himself as he stepped out of the carriage, bewildered at how he let himself get so far out of hand at the crucial moment before meeting his suitor. Idiot, idiot, idiot. A thousand plagues upon you. Once he composed himself, the prank was the furthest out of his mind, and he placed a hand on his brother's shoulder as he walked up next to him. "Brother, I know you were looking forward to this, but I just realized important this is for the future of us and our Kingdoms. We wouldn't want to set a bad impression this soon. I hope you'll understand, but I require my mask back. And I owe you one prank, free to redeem at any future date."

He moved with such dexterity in both hands then, that when he switched both the masks between faces, only a flash of red would be caught from an observer before blue shone through. "I truly am sorry, but I got carried away in my attempt to calm you down. Now, I know how you like leaving your little presents anonymously," he voice had dropped to a whisper at this point, at a level of volume only Valde would be able to hear. "Please just gift me this and I will be eternally grateful, you'll never owe me anything again." There was a desperation steeled in his voice for that last bit, and he let his hand fall from his brother's shoulder.

"If not for me, than for our sisters. We wouldn't want to upset our suitors and then have them take it out on Lyra and Aurora, would we?" A smile cracked beneath his mask, as he knew that would be the selling point. His hand raised once more to again clap Valde on the shoulder, and then Lonán set forward with a new-found stride. He found himself stopping next to Lyra first, and placed a very cold hand upon her cheek, a silent 'cool down'. He nodded, gave a wink with the visible eye, and then stood next to Aurora, bowing himself, and raising his eye to meet the suitors', keeping eye contact as he rose to stand straight once more.

"And I, Lonán Samil Richeson, the eldest. I'm glad you'll all be joining us to help achieve peace for our neighboring kingdoms. I pray everybody involved will find the same sense of comfort that I do with this situation in the days to come."

~.Minzy.~.Anderson.~
Image

As her brother left the room, she stayed in silence, allowing him to excuse himself, before she too, also stood and walked out of her room. Minzy soon stopped a maid and asked her if she could get her mask; with a nod, the maid hurried down the hallway and gave Minzy her mask.

Minzy stood in the hallway, holding her mask quietly as she slowly put it on. It wasn’t much, only a mask that was painted gold and had some sort of fake flower on the side; to be completely honest, she didn’t favor much of this mask, yet she dealt with it as she walked down the hallway and headed for the entrance once again.

Once she reached, Minzy carefully opened the door, as if there was an ugly beast behind it, ready to attack her; which, in her mind, there was. Once Minzy was outside, she quickly spotted her siblings and strolled over next to them, looking at each of the suitors. She could already pinpoint her fiancé out, and her golden eyes simply stared at him, dead on as if he was something tasty to eat, yet deadly.

Though, her eyes soon panned over to the two angelic women who stood before her; both of them looking like fine young ladies- well developed and quite the beauties. Yet, like herself, Minzy knew that they weren’t exactly jumping for joy to get married at their age. Finally, her eyes stopped at a tall and broad shouldered man; one who looked like Celestine’s fiancé.

Even with a mask on, Minzy had to admit that he was quite the eye catcher; a man, if she knew sooner, she would’ve eaten. Though her thoughts where interrupted by another one, just as it bumped into her observation and knocked it out of her head. “Ah, please excuse me.” She stated quietly, before introducing herself, “I am Minzy.”

It was a short introduction, but it’d work for now; she wasn’t marrying everyone, was she? So she figured they didn’t need more than her name. Minzy’s attention soon stopped on her brother, Lucifer; a slight smile peering onto her lips to greet him in silence.

Lyra watched each of her siblings present themselves, feeling a sort of pride. She enjoyed watching them transform into their courtly respectable sides while knowing they were the exact opposite in personalities. Then came Vald, who dissapointed her. She didn't understand why he had to show so much disrespect during a time like this. She did understand the annoyance with arranged marriages, but he needed to learn to accept the days where nothing could be done. She wished they would't run off like that in a new environment, but it was a good experience for them. They needed to learn to take care of themselves, but the thought of freedom from her siblings made her heart squeeze.

Quietly sighing, Lyra turned her attention back to the vampires with a lighthearted smile. "They are the youngest, with much to learn. I am the eldest sister, Lyra." She curtsied low and slowly, making sure to create the perfect impression. She nodded her head to the couple who had introduced themselves. "Minzy, Lucifer, it's a pleasure to meet you. Minzy, what a beautiful mask. It complements the color of your hair very well."

Lyra had meant what she said, but she suddenly felt very out of place. Normally, she felt like the rising star and was always at home wherever she went. Maybe that was it. She wasn't home. A thought chilled her; This might become her new home. She would have to take her advice and get use to it. Still smiling through her mask, Lyra wondered what the day would hold for them. Lucifer seemed like a fairly attractive being, but she couldn't tell how old he was. Her face warmed with the realization that Lucifer could be her suitor.

Lucifer Anderson

After what seemed like an eternity the introductions were over, he could finally go relax for a bit before the stupid event. His gaze caught a white-haired man, he simply said his name and entered the castle. The others probably thought it rude, but Lucifer was amused by it, was the man frustrated, or simply not one for introductions? Well, if it was the latter he would share some common ground with Lucifer, but even thought he disliked introductions they were necessary, thus he had to perform them, no matter how boring and tedious they were. It would seem everyone began to disperse, heading inside the castle. Lucifer was no different, he strolled into the castle at his leisure, taking note of his brother speaking with one of the princess' of the light kindom.

Lucifer didn't pay any attention, he had a clear goal. He would hasten his walk, he strolled to the kitchen where he grabbed a wine glass. Perhaps it was strange of him to drink alone, but in honesty he did this sort of thing all the time, the feeling of being drunk, it soothed him. He could exist without fears or worries, nothing really mattered. He longed for enchanting sensation most hours of the day, sadly it wasn't very beneficial to remain drunk at all hours of the day, he was limited to only drinking on special occasions or long lapses between political affairs or other work. He inspected the wine glass, peering inside in search for any sort of blemish. To his surprise there were none, the glass was perfectly clean, a rarity these days.

He dropped the glass into his leather back which contained the wine, he would then make his way up the stairs and into his room, the inside was made of stone, painted black to accomodate his vampiric needs. With a luxurious bed, a few chairs and a desk it was pretty complete. He collapsed on the bed, staring straight up at the ceilling with his arms stretched it, the leather bag was right beside him. He wanted to stay like this, at least for a little while. He breathed in and out deeply, he closed his eyes for a few long moments. After the short rest he sat himself up at the foot of the bed and uncorked the bottle of wine, then he poured himself a serving. He would cork the bottle again and set it at his feet. He would bring the glass close to his face, smelling the oh-so-familiar scent, it was almost the same as always, but was just a tad bit different. He took a drink, it was bitter, yet tasted a little like a pear. Strange.

He stayed like that for a bit longer, he took care not to get himself actually drunk, he stopped after the third glass, at which point he was a little tipsy. He wasn't a light weight, that was for sure. He couldn't help but wonder what he was to do, he sighed, taking off his mask and flinging it behind him, his sisters wouldn't approve of him getting drunk before the night arrived, he waited and pondered his situation.

Lyra nodded to the people in front of her. "I'm sure we will all enjoy our stay here." The woman, Celestine, seemed polite enough but that was mostly it. Celestine reminded Lyra of herself a bit. She was being just polite enough to get through the introductions, and added some bubbly flair to perfect the impression. Lyra could tell it wasn't a very true personality though. She imagined the vampires wanted to get rid of her and her siblings just as much as Vald did them. "If you will excuse me, I'm going to find my siblings."

Lyra curtsied to the family and Lonan before making her way into the castle. She tried following the same path she had seen Vald and Aurora travel, to some success. The rooms seemed darker to her eyes though, and brought goosebumps to her skin. Taking off her mask, she began to feel a sense of adventure. She tried not to give away too many emotions, but the new environment astounded her. She realized the castle was much like hers; large rooms, people scuttling around, but everything was so...different.

Twirling past a darkened room, Lyra smiled at the silver tapestries before recognizing a voice. "Aurora?" She couldn't understand what she would be doing with someone she didn't know, then again, Aurora was surprising her a lot lately. Lyra decided to just stay out of it and see how things went later on. Quietly walking away, found herself at the end of a hallway. She could either take the stairs or turn back and risk running into the vampires again...the stairs were the obvious path.

Lyra enjoyed the smooth touch of the sparkling banister as she ascended the stairs. Once she reached the top, she cursed at her gown. Though it was beautiful, it was also extravagent and overbrearing. She was certainly regretting the agreement to look her best. Just as she was about to go back down the stairs, a mask flew into the hallway. Curiously picking it up, she turned to see Lucifer drinking what seemed to be wine. She walked forward and leaned against the door frame. "Hello Prince."

Lucifer Anderson

The soft and quiet echoes of footsteps made their way to Lucifers ears, they became louder ever so slightly with each passing second. Lucifer shifted his vision towards the doorway, realizing that he was no longer wearing his mask. He looked around the room, unfortunately his mask had landed in the hallway outside of the room, Curses! He thought. There was no time to grab the mask, so he would have to improvise. He didn't exactly care if anyone saw his face, but this was a masquerade, so revealing ones face would defeat the purpose of the event (so was giving out names, but that couldn't be avoided.) He covered the upper half of his face with his right hand, creating a few cracks through his fingers which he could peer through.

He must've looked a little silly, but he didn't mind too much. A golden haired woman stood in his doorway, holding Lucifer's mask. The male's expression would remain apathetic, he was silent for a few moments. Prince... That title had always annoyed him, it felt like another word for weak, foolish and vain. He never did felt like a prince, he didn't act like it most the time either. Maybe this was why he felt alienated from most other royalty? He felt out of place in grand castles, hell, he'd even sneak out of his home to spend time in a tavern or walk the slums, he always thought he would've been more happy to be a commoner. Of course his siblings couldn't relate to the slightest, he hated how royalty was suppose to act, it was all so arrogant.

As far as he was concerned he wasn't a prince, but just a man. Lucifer turned his head left to face the window, with this angle the woman couldn't see his face. His hand dropped, "Don't address me by my title. I cannot speak for my siblings, but that title feels very impersonal." He waited a few moments before speaking again, glancing down at his half empty wine glass, "Sorry, if I knew I'd have company I would have brought two glasses." He smirked a bit, but it soon disappeared, "But I assume that's not why you're here." He wondered how she could be so confident around a vampire, it made sense when she was with her siblings, but now she was alone. Nobles were also too confident in themselves, one of the things he couldn't stand. "Could you hand me my mask?"

Lyra felt nervous standing in the doorway. It wasn't her usual feelings but at the moment, she was feeling less excited about the night. Lucifer had been drinking, which brought on a series of situations for Lyra to wonder about, and she felt a little left out. She mostly drank when she was feeling low and upset, but today, an exception seemed inevitable. She eyed the bottle and forced herself not to act too disappointed at the absent of another glass. Somehow, Lyra didn't think Lucifer was one for royal illusions. She hadn't met any royal who would freely admit that feeling, mainly because it could cause people to doubt your reputation, but this one had continued to surprise her.

Nodding her head in acknowledgement, she took a few steps toward the window. "Alright. If you will refrain from calling me by my title then, I would appreciate it also...I don't feel the need to force people into believing royalty breeds higher beings." Lyra took a breath, unsure if pursuing conversation was the best path to take. Yet, she continued. "Lucifer then? Well Lucifer, I must say, I am a little disappointed you don't have another glass with you..." She tried deciphering Lucifer's body language, not really sure what he was feeling at the moment. She realized she was alone with a vampire, and it became more difficult to not run and hide, but she really hated not knowing what he was thinking. Usually, Lyra was sure of people's true intentions, at the moment though, she didn't even know her own. Every piece of her brain told her to walk away and no establish relations, but her curiousity was getting the best of her.

Handing the mask to Lucifer, with hers in her other hand, she shrugged her shoulders. "I was...exploring and saw the mask in the hallway..." Lyra stared out into the world, pondering her next words. She was doing her best not to falter or stumble over her words, but the presence of a vampire wasn't helping. "I don't really have a reason for being here."

†~Aurora Richeson~†

Eventually Aurora made her way back inside and asked one of the maids for a bandage. For once the maid didn't stutter or rush off frantically but instead responded with, "Yes, Miss. Please wait a moment." and nodded her head. It made Aurora happy to know that she didn't scare everyone. Once her finger was bandaged, she decided to explore the rest of the castle. She was wandering down a hallway when she heard two voices from a room at the end. She stopped for a moment to listen. It sounded like Lyra was speaking to the moody prince from outside. What was his name again..? After a moment, she recalled his name: Lucifer.

Not wanting to eavesdrop, Aurora opened the door across from her. The wooden door opened with a creak to reveal a room that looked as if it hadn't been used in years. There was a desk with a pile of papers on top. There was also a portrait of a little girl in a small oval frame. Aurora picked it up delicately and examined the picture, her finger tracing the edge. The girl was beautiful, with long wavy hair and a serious expression on her face. Aurora set it back down on desk. There was a bed in the center with faded white covers. On the circular table that served as a nightstand, there was a broken clock. ~I wonder if I can fix it... it would be beautiful if worked.~ She picked it up and laid back on the bed, dark hair spread over the dusty covers. She brought it close to her face, studying the front and back of it. If I want to fix this, I'll need some tools.. However, Aurora was still aware of where she was. This was not the time to be fixing a clock.

Lucifer Anderson

The blonde haired woman before Lucifer seemed a little anxious, though she hid it very well. Her words seemed slightly rushed, though that could have been for a multitude of reasons. Lucifer himself was a bit nervous, though he was in the process of curing it. So she would also prefer to be called by her name? How pleasant, often times Lucifer had found titles to be vain, it felt unnatural, like taking a swim in winter. Lyra, it was an interesting name, one that was satisfying to say and was easy to pronounce. Often times nobles would have extremely complicated and unnecessarily long names, frankly it annoyed Lucifer to no end. She was disappointed that he didn't bring two glasses? What exactly was she meaning, did she actually want to drink with him, or perhaps it was a test to observe his reaction. Well, whether the comment was false or note Lucifer would encourage Lyra to drink with him, just for the mere sake of it all. Lyra had stept deeper into the room, he almost felt like doing something to terrify Lyra, maybe grabbing her wrist or quickly closing the distance between each other. He sorely wanted to, but he would refrain from such behaviour, just to avoid the annoyance of his siblings scolding him. Lucifer wrapped his free hand around the mask and donned it, ahhh, finally he was free to move around as he pleased. Lucifer grabbed the neck of the wine bottle and stood it.

Lucifer would turn to Lyra and begin to tilt the bottle down above the glass, refilling it just a few inches below the brim. He felt a small playful creep onto his face, he had an excellent idea. Lucifer never did mind drinking straight from the bottle, to him there wasn't much difference, it was just a little less refined, but in the end it would inebriate him all the same. Lucifer exteded the hand holding the wine glass, prompting Lyra to take it. "While I have not brought two glasses, I have no issues with using the bottle itself. Though a vampire's lips have graced it, I assure you that it won't harm you." It wasn't normal etiquette by any means, but he never did like to follow normal etiquette. Besides, this would test whether Lady Lyra could make decision without factoring in conventional etiquette. Either way Lucifer didn't care, drinking alone or with a woman, he would end up inebriated.

Lyra stood her ground with the kind of effortless gaze she had dawned during any game, mostly political, in which she wanted to win. Why he had avoided her before wearing a mask, she didn't understand. Lyra knew her presence would be acknowledged whether she hid her face or not. He had seemed shy in a way, almost as if he was holding back a more relazed side of himself. It only made her more curious and willing to settle her emotions. Every part of Lucifer, down to his walk, created more questions for Lyra. Not only about his kind, but him as a being also. Was he a reckless vampire? Lyra could sense a sort of reluctance about him. Maybe he didn't appreciate his royal standing, much like her younger brother. As a vampire though, Lucifer made her more uneasy than any human could.

As the glass crept closer to her, she felt her mental conscience scream out to her. Taking the glass would mean a sort of acceptance. It would mean placing herself closer to the vampire's grasp. Images of frightening situations reeled through her mind. She was sure Lucifer could snap her in half if he desired. He could feed off her veins while watching the life drain from her body. A slight shiver escaped Lyra's lips, but she wrapped her fingers around the glass anyway. The goblet was cooling against her heated palms, making her thirst for the alcohol more eminent. Keeping her eyes on Lucifer, she sipped the wine slowly, letting the flavors sift through her taste buds.

The liquid was smooth but stronger than she had expected a royal to be drinking at this hour. It brought more questions to attention. What was he drinking for? Lyra had mostly stayed sober during her years but there was always the occassional upset which broke her down. She didn't like drinking alone, but when she did, the day had been horrific. With lips now stained with wine, she casually leaned on her hip and smiled to Lucifer, curiousity gracing her lips. "May I ask what the occassion is?"
