In the City that never sleeps. There's no rest for the wicked. And no rest for those who intend to rid the Big Apple from the crime that ravages it.

A battleground for good verses the very bad.

Who will triumph?

Image

The stakes are high. The Russian Mafia is at it's pinnacle. The Kings of New York. Life is good. Business is better. But there's always someone wanting to drag you down. And if it isn't a rival gang then it's those cock sucking politseyskiye! But they got another thing coming if they think the Russians are going down without a fight . . .

Image Image Image

Image

Yes, we want to keep the peace. And keep the streets clean from those infections in society that think they rule the City. So what we're cops and do things the right way? That doesn't mean we won't catch the bad guys we're after. It's simply a game of watching and waiting. And when you're guards down and you're not looking, we'll have you exactly where we want you

. . . Behind Bars . . .

Image

But nothing is ever so simple in the Big City. Where lives intertwine the probability of anything is inevitable. Lines drawn and crossed. Lives made, sold, changed and ended on the flip of a hand. Nothing is ever straight in New York.

Not Law. Not Crime. Not Love . . .

Surreptitiously Inspector Angelica Anderton fingered the ear piece in her ear, slowly moving down to the tiny broach pinned just above her breast. It was uncomfortable to say the least. She wasn't at all used to having a voice in her ear. She'd never needed such high tech stuff back in VICE, in Miami.

“Anderton.” A voice said in her ear. “You're looking smoking tonight baby.”

She heard group laughter in the background.

“Asshole.” Angie grumbled and then smiled widely at the couple stood next to her who looked at her as if she'd gone crazy; the sound of laughter louder in her one ear.

“At a girl. Stand in front of a mirror so I can see your fine self.” Doyle jested again through the ear piece. “Oh and get those Russkie bastards too huh will ya hun.”

Ignoring, the idiot Agent in her ear, Angie circulated the room. Tonight would be a lot of firsts. She'd never been to such a fancy affair in all her life. Nor had she wore something so expensive in her entire life. The turquoise netted gown cost $3000. $3000! Angie was a little bit afraid of spilling something on it.

You'll be fine. Angelica convinced herself. This is just like any other job. It was just like posing as a Hooker back in VICE, except . . . long term. She wondered the large, marble columned room, pretending to examine the art work and sculptures that were on auction tonight.

They were going to bust this joint tonight. They would get their hands on a few of the buyers caught red handed with the goods. Of course their Lawyers would argue, they had no idea the stuff was in the art work but it would put immense pressure on the Russian Mafia. Letting these criminals know that the Cops were onto their scent and closing in.

Stopping in front of an Adonis Styled statue, Angie turned her head scanning the hot shots in this room; trying to match faces ad names to her memory. 90% of them were criminals. She had been briefed on all the men and women she would be in contact with.

Scum the lot of them. Angie thought. Thinking they could do what they like; flaunting the law like it didn't apply to them. Well, they'd soon realise that it applied more to them then anybody else . . .

It was just a shame, Angelica mused, that she wouldn't be doing the arresting tonight. She sighed, she'd have to stand a side and pretend to watch in confusion. Oh well, she'd get the big one at the end. When they would have enough evidence to arrest all these bastards. She couldn't wait to see the looks on their faces when they realised who she was. But, Angie paced herself, that was still a long time coming. There was a lot of work to do before any of that could happen.

She had a lot of work to do. Get close to the right people. Get the right and damning information that would lock these crooks away forever. Off the streets and keeping people safe.

Angie, turned back to admire the statue. It really was quite a piece. The art work here on display tonight had to be worth over a few million alone . . . Not to mention the value of what was supposedly concealed inside them.

Tonight, was going to be eventful to say the least . . .

Dmitri sat in a fashionably designed long room with men in dark suits sitting all around. He was next to the head of the table and sat listening intently to the man who was shrouded in darkness, the only light being the tip of his cigar. The words leaving his lips were simple. He was telling the group of the purpose of the auction. They were selling art to their customers but it wasn't just any ordinary art.

It was art loaded with weapons and drugs. Anything someone wanted would be given to them...for a price. This was how the mafia were funding their various rackets they had going on. The people they were selling to were high profile. Big dealers, Cops, Politicians. Hell the Mayor of the City was in the Auction room tonight. Whether he knew if the art was legit or not wasn't mentioned. It wasn't needed. The leader at the meeting nodded to everyone and told them to leave. Everyone stood up respectfully and Dmitri decided to head into the display area.

The Russians had been in New York long enough, they had their foothold. The other gangs didn't mess with them and most of the time. The Cops didn't either. Dmitri had been with them his entire life, criminals that is. He was born on crime, raised on crime, fed on crime. Dmitri had been doing a lot for the Mafia, him and his best friend of three years Ivan had been through a lot together. Shot a lot of people. Robbed a lot of stores. Dmitri was pretty high up in the hierarchy, he liked to think he wasn't as replaceable as the others but he knew inside that he was wrong. This whole auction

It was then he saw a blue stream. It was the colour that caught his eye but her beauty that made his eye stay there. She was...enchanting. He found his feet knew where he wanted to go before his brain did and before he knew it, he was standing behind her looking at a statue. This particular statue containing a few kilos of some assorted drug. He wasn't sure who was gonna buy 'em but he was sure they'd be pleased with them.

"Nice bust." Dmitri spoke with a smile while he looked at her.

When the woman turned, she would come into contact with his wicked smile. Dmitri wasn't looking for a 'Keeper' that night, infact he was looking for something quite the opposite. He was looking for someone to bang and then leave before it was even light out. He was good at that. He'd had a lot of practise with that. Relationships. Now they were terrible. They usually ended quite abruptly after you've almost gotten your partner killed four or five times. Relationships also ended when you sleep with someone else. That also happens quite a lot.

"The statue I mean..." Dmitri's rogue like smirk stayed on his lips.

“Nice bust.”

Angie peered over one delicate shoulder and what she saw first and foremost was that cocky but irresistible smile.

“The statue I mean . . .” He added.

She couldn't help but be so very aware of him. It was then she realised who he was . . . Dmitri Kasovski. Tall, dark and dangerous described him perfectly. His photo back at Headquarters wasn't very flattering nor did it do him justice.

This was the first time Angelica had come into contact with the actual criminals. Well, she supposed, she better start getting used to it. And this happened to be very lucky. She had to find a way to work into the group. Sure there was Jack, but there was only so much he could do to help her. And for her to help him, she needed in. And Dmitri Kasovski . . . Was very high up in the food chain . . .

“What else could you possibly mean?” Turning slowly to fully face him, Angie questioned with a small smile of her own. “Ooooh, I get it.” She smirked as she turned her head to have a quick look at the statue of the naked man and then back at him. “You're gay.” She teased.

He was handsome, more so then she had ever expected. Dressed sharply and looking good enough to eat. But, Angie had to remind herself, under all that . . . He was a killer, a criminal. And there was only one place in the world for criminals and that place was jail.

A place, Dmitri Kasovski would find himself in very soon . . .

“You're gay.”

Dmitri wasn't gay. Everyone knew it. If you were a woman or if you knew a woman, then you would know he wasn't gay. Which meant one of two things, she was new around here or she was teasing him. The Russian assumed it was a bit of both. Obviously she didn't know Dmitri by face but perhaps hearing name and she would remember his reputation, it would depend on which reputation she heard how this meeting progressed. She either heard the excellent lover and wonderful conversationalist one, the hardened criminal one or the cheating lying whore-mongering reputation. Any of those were okay for her to hear, he could turn it around anyway but it's always nicer if she's only heard the first one.

"You think I'm gay? Ask any girl and you'll see I'm not gay..."

Dmitri stepped towards her slightly and smiled down at her as he purred the words out of his lips. She was good looking, no-one could deny it and he was pretty sure if he hadn't arrived when he did, someone else would of gotten here first. Not that it mattered of course because Dmitri would of still taken his chance, it would of just been later. So really, this interaction was inevitable. Dmitri thought about many things as he waited for what he said to sink in.

"Maybe I'll show you that I'm not gay myself."

Dmitri approached her and placed his hands on her waist. He would gauge what to do next based on her reaction. If she slapped him, he apologise and make up some kind of lie, if she left him. That's when it gets interesting because if she left his hands there, either she'll reciprocate and therefore improve the night greatly or she'll be idle in which case means she'll need a bit more work. Practice makes perfect with this kinda thing. Dmitri was perfect.

Before Angelica saw it coming, Dmitri Kasovski was standing in front of her, with his hands firmly on her waist. She was surprised to say the least. No man had ever been so forward with her, not even when she was pretending to be a hooker.

And this man . . . He was so close. The look in his eyes predatory. Had any man ever looked at her like that before? She doubted it. His hands on her waist burning an imprint where they rested. She could smell his cologne . . . and she liked it. He was tall and so irrepressibly good looking, that he had to be dangerous, Angie decided then.

She was tempted to slap him for his impertinence; had his hands been anywhere else besides her waist, she would have. However, this was something so unexpected . . . Instead Angelica held his dark gaze. Letting him hold her as he was. Maybe I'll show you that I'm not gay myself. His last words ran through her mind. Did he intend to be impudent enough to dare kiss her, after but a few words shared?

And why did the thought send a shiver down her spine?

Angelica cocked her head to the side, studying his features. “I don't know.” She drawled. “You seem a little insecure to me.” Angelica teased with a smile. “Who are you trying to prove your heterosexuality to more? Yourself or me?” Moving her face closer to his, she added in a conspiratorial whisper. “Are you trapped in the closet?”

She was enjoying this more then she should . . .

“Are you trapped in the closet?”

Dmitri held her gaze as the words spilled from her lips, like fine wine. The smirk held it's pride of place on his lips as he purred to her. Dmitri was never known to be reserved so this was entirely expected if anyone who knew his moves watched. The Russian liked her already, the way she teased. Something about it drew him in and he found he didn't mind it all that much. He was happily playing along with her little game but the tables were going to turn whether she liked it or not.

"Trapped in a closet? Not yet but if you come with me I'd be happy to."

He held his position close to her face, he was so tempted. So tempted to just lean in but he wasn't sure. He could blow the entire thing if he kissed her now. Dmitri however leaned in anyway, their lips barely making contact before Dmitri reluctantly pulled away. Keep her wanting more. He kept telling himself. His eyes roamed her body yet again as he held her, that dress looked lovely on her and he was glad she wore it.

"Perhaps I'm not trying to prove my heterosexuality...Maybe I just wanted to touch you. Maybe I just couldn't help myself."

It was all true though. Something about her just...drew him in. His eyes still held hers, not leaving. Not able to leave, it's as if he wasn't even in the gallery. Something about her eyes. Dmitri shook himself out of it metaphorically. What was he doing? God. He sounded like he was in love with this girl. Not. Gonna. Happen. He had WAY too many people to see after her, so many things to experience. He didn't need to be tied down for that. Christ. Him and Ivan were gonna wreck the city once the upcoming big job goes down.

"Trapped in a closet? Not yet but if you come with me I'd be happy to."

Her breath was caught in her throat as he leaned in. Was he going to kiss her? Her heart thumped. Would she let him? Of course not! . . . She knew that was a lie as soon as the thought entered her mind. How could anyone woman say no to this man? She doubted many did. And Angelica could completely sympathies with them.

His lips hovered just over hers. His warm breath caressing her skin; sending tingles up and down her whole body. She was more then disappointed when he pulled away though; suppressing a groan. That was good, Angie reminded herself. This was completely inappropriate. They were standing in a crowded room filled with people. Yet his eyes raked her like she was some desert he intended to devour.

"Perhaps I'm not trying to prove my heterosexuality...Maybe I just wanted to touch you. Maybe I just couldn't help myself." Dmitri purred.

She couldn't help the warmth that spread through her at his words, but . . .

“Bet you can't help yourself with a lot of things.” Angie replied, seemingly unimpressed.

Yes. She bet he said that to all the girls he met. He was a seasoned player and she was just game to him. But she could play his game without being on the losing end. He meant to unsettle her with his talk of being trapped in a closet with her. She could play this game.

“Well,” She questioned him seductively as she took a step towards him, closing the gap between them. “what are you waiting for?” One hand resting on his shoulder while the other slowly stroked down the lapel of his suit jacket. “The coat closet or the utility?”

“Bet you can't help yourself with a lot of things.”

The way she said it irked him. She didn't seem very impressed and he didn't think he liked it. Normally women were putty in his hands once he said something like that but she seemed to be resisting his charm, however this didn't make him want to stop infact, he only wanted to try harder. He wasn't going to back down, at least not right now and not with her. Backing down is not a option.

"It's true, I'm very impulsive..."

As he said it, he placed two hands on her lower back. Dangerously close to her butt and he wanted to give her the feeling that he might, that he could and that he would if the feeling took him. Dmitri wasn't entirely sure what game they were playing, it seemed pretty standard and she seemed keen but...a little too keen? He never thought that he'd be thinking something like that. No woman could ever be too keen but something about it seemed...off. When his eyes came back in contact with hers however he couldn't think about it anymore. He KNEW he didn't care whether this was strange or not.

“The coat closet or the utility?”

Dmitri smiled and raised an eyebrow. A closet huh? He'd had some good times in a closet when he was younger. Not THAT much younger mind you but recently he'd been sticking more to beds...Or tables...Or walls or car bonnets or car seats. Stable surfaces atleast. A closet was a slight differentiation from his usual, he didn't mind it.

"Well...Whichever is closest..."

Dmitri moved his hands and grabbed hers, leading her towards the nearest closet which just so happened to be the coat closet. He opened the door and leaned against the frame. Dmitri stared at her for a moment.

His hands had been very unexpected. The nerve of him! Or rather the cock-sureness, was something Angie had never come across in any man before. It intrigued her . . . He intrigued her . . . How could someone be that confident of themselves? No wonder this guy had gotten away with what he did for a living for so damn long! Well not any more, Angelica decided. She would teach him a lesson tonight.

He touched her, held her like he had every right too. Her gaze locked with his. Would he dare venture lower? And why was she enjoying the anticipation more then she should? It wasn't right. But caught in his sinful gaze, she seemed to forget all that.

“Well . . .” He replied to her question with a devilish grin and a raised brow. “Which ever is closest . . .”

And then his hands moved from their dangerously low position on her back and clasped her hand. His hold strong and warm as he pulled her along, much to Angelica's surprise. She couldn't believe he actually thought she would fuck him straight after just meeting him for the very first time! They didn't even know each others names! Well, she knew his. But of course, he didn't know that! They were practically strangers!

Angelica found herself actually being stopped in front of a closet. She didn't know whether to gape in horror or laugh in amusement. Truly, she was torn between the two. The presumptuous vagabond! As if she would ever!

Opening the door, he suddenly turned, leaning his weight on the door frame he gazed at her. He said nothing. God but he was handsome! She almost thought twice about what she was going to do. Or rather, considered joining him in the closet in reality . . . To slip her hands under the Armani suit jacket that hung off his broad shoulders perfectly and run her palms down his firm chest . . . Her mosey green eyes came to rest on his lips . . . Lips that could-

“Careful Anderton . . .” The voice in her ear broke Angelica's fantasy, much to her regret or relief.

Taking a step forward, so she was standing merely a breaths space a part from him, Angelica placed her hands under his suit on his chest, just as she had fantasized. He was as solid and lean as she had imagined.

“Won't you tell me what it is you like?” Her lips pressed against his ear, her hand rubbed his chest as she whispered seductively. “And I'll do all those things for you.” Her warm breath a sensual caress. “If I give it to you once you know you're going to want some more . . .” She began to gently push him back into the open room; her hands freely roaming his chest, enjoying the feel of him; her lips glued to his ear, certain he could feel her smile. “You are going to scream and shout it . . .”

She almost didn't want to. It was so tempting to just let him have his wicked way with her . . .

“That is, if you wanna get out of here.” Her laugh was short as she pushed his chest hard, nudging him past the threshold; grabbing the door handle and slamming it shut. She quickly placed a chair beneath the closed door at an angle to stop him getting out.

Angelica chuckled to herself for a moment as she peered at the door. What in Gods name had possessed her to do something like that?! Maybe, she told herself, it was it was the arrogance he seemed to ooze. Or maybe, it was the fact that he dared to be so forward with her. Dared to touch her . . . Like she was his property.

“Atta girl Anderton!” Doyle's voice buzzed in her ear again, like an annoying bumble bee that just wouldn't buzz off. “Treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen!” He laughed.

But did she want to keep Dmitri Kasovski keen . . . ?

Of course not! She just had to gain his confidence. At the very least befriend him to make life easier for Jack but . . . After meeting Dmitri . . . Angelica felt for the first time as if she was way in over her head. Plus, and more significantly . . . She liked his touch on her skin more then she ever professionally should, liked the way he spoke, the way he carried himself . . .

It was then, Angelica told herself to stop being ridiculous! Realizing the train of her thoughts. As if she'd ever be interested in a criminal like Dmitri Kasovski?! As if she couldn't do her job because of one man with too much charm?!

Angelica, scoffed at herself, giving one more glance to the closet door – he'd be breaking it down any minute now, she imagined – before she turned and walked back towards the Gallery.

Dmitri was entranced by her words, her movement. They hypnotized him, he barely even noticed he was being pushed into the closet. He was only messing with her when he stood at the door, he'd just wanted to see her reaction but this reaction was...spectacular. Better than any expression of shock or anger. He was being drawn into her words, not quite sure where it was going but sure as hell along for the ride. It was then he was plunged into darkness as the door slammed shut and he heard the movement of something jamming the door.

"Come on! Stop playing around!"

His shoulder collided with the door but it budged only a little. He'd need to hit harder if he was getting out and he couldn't exactly shoot his way through with all the people on the other side. His continued to beat on the door for a while with his shoulder but nothing happened. The Russian backed up and with a swift kick, he heard a cracking and with a few more, the door swung open. He seemed to have cracked both the chair and the door so they slid away from each-other. He stepped out into the light and combed back his hair but as he was walking, no storming towards the woman who'd locked him away. He was confronted with a friendly face. Ivan.

"Hey Buddy.."

Dmitri began before Ivan had his arm around his shoulder and was leading him towards the girl Dmitri was just flirting with. The Russian was confused to say the lead and looked for Ivan or the woman to make things clear to him

Angelica smiled serenely as she turned to see the men walking towards her. Dmitri looked unruffled after his little failed fumble in the closet but the look of curiosity marred his darkly handsome features as Jack steered him towards her.

“Hey there gorgeous.” Jack slipped to her side, his arm snaking around her waist, his lips capturing hers.

Angelica kissed him back with complete ardour. This is why she had transferred here and accepted this demanding post. To see more of the man that she hardly ever got to see. She had been sick of having a relationship with his answering machine and the few rare occasions when he could slip free of his disguise and come see her.

Yet, she could feel Dmitri Kasovski's burning gaze on her. It unnerved and pleased her all at the same time. But she endeavoured to ignore him.

“Hi.” She smiled back, when she'd had her fill of him. “Ready for the auction? You going to buy me something pretty?”

“Whatever you want.” Jack replied his arm still around her waist. “But first I want you to meet someone. This is Dmitri Kasovski. The best man I know.” He smiled at his friend. “Dmitri, meet Anastacia Udinov. My err . . .”

“Girlfriend.” Angelica supplied helpfully.

“Yes. Girlfriend.” Jack recovered. “Also, one of my main suppliers down from Florida. She's here thinking of setting up shop in the City or Jersey.”

“It's nice to meet you.” Angelica smiled, a certain curl to her lips and a sparkle in her eyes as she offered him her hand. “I've heard so much about you.”

She was going to enjoy this . . .

Dmitri was...confused to say the least. He watched his best friend in the world wrap his arm around the girl that he'd just attempted to pick up. They started to kiss and Dmitri just turned his head, he didn't want to watch but he didn't have a choice. She was....kissing his best-friend. She flirted with him when she was with his best friend. He listened to them talk for a while before he paid full attention and he was being introduced to this mystery woman. Ivan's...girlfriend? He'd never heard of her. She'd also heard about him apparently.

"Oh you've heard about me...I've not heard a single thing about you...Not even your name..."

He stared intensely at Ivan. How could he not mention something like this? After they'd known each-other for such a long time. Dmitri wasn't exactly sure what to think and then there was all that about her setting up shop. Who did she think she was?! Who did Ivan think she was? The Russian frowned. There was no way that she could just waltz in without him having heard about it. She best be useful if she was involved. Dmitri liked where he was, he liked his job and he didn't want some...bitch walking in and fucking everything up just because she was chosen out of dumb luck to be the girl that Ivan decided to keep around this time.

"So, the Boss know about this? Everything been arranged? That reminds me! Ivan! We're going to the place soon so..save up. You're gonna need a lot."

Obviously 'The place' was the strip club but he wasn't entirely sure if his girlfriend knew about his little excursions. Dmitri was the king of discrepancy. The master of subtlety if he did say so himself. It was regardless of the fact that he loved to show off and win.

Angelica enjoyed the confusion across his face. She doubted he was rarely ever in such a state, so she enjoyed it all the more. Who did he think he was? Who did he think she was?! To fall into his arms because he was so smooth. She bet he easily loured hundreds of women into his bed just like that. Well, not her! Ignoring the fact that she had been so tempted.

"Names Anastasia." She reminded him with a smirk.

"Sorry man forgot to mention. You know how it is." Ivan added with a shrug, looking away from his friends accusing gaze. "Get caught up in this and that. Sure, the Boss knows. Nothing's arranged yet. Ann's here just testing the waters. And about that plac-"

"Sorry Dmitri, looks like you're going to be flying solo tonight." Angie told him with a cocky smirk. "Ivan and I have plans for tonight." She smiled overly sweetly. "And every other night. Might want to find someone else to play with."

"Ana." Ivan frowned, with a look of reproach.

"What? I'm just telling him the truth." She replied.

"Yeah but I could have broke the news a little more softly."

Angie shrugged unfazed. Enjoying Dmitri's discomfort and irritation.

"Sorry man." Ivan said rubbing his neck uncomfortably. "I'm . . going to be busy for a while. In the evenings mainly. I'll see you throughout the day time though. With work and shit."

"I'm sure Dmitri has many other friends he can play with." Angie added with a grin at the man. "Lots of women to help lick his wounds."

The thought irritated her but she tried to ignore it.

Dmitri's jaw dropped. What? This was NOT happening. He wasn't quite sure what was going on. Ivan..wasn't allowed to hang out with him anymore? What was this bitch saying?! She can't do that. That's..That's controlling. Ivan can't be okay with this surely he'll speak up eventually. Dmitri waited in vain for protest. Not a sound came. Dmitri was furious. This woman who he'd never even heard of before ten minutes ago walks in and tells his that he can't hang out with his best friend? That's not even mentioning the bullshit excuse for Ivan not telling him about her. Something like that doesn't merely 'slip your mind'.

"Cука!"

The word escaped his lips and Ivan stared at Dmitri for a while, an almost glaring but also pleading look as if to say "Don't mess with her."It was at that time one of the boys came over and spoke to Ivan. He was young and smart looking, wearing a suit similar if not less expensive than Dmitri's own suit.

"Hey Ivan...I need to talk with you.."

Ivan looked between the pair but realised he didn't have a choice and left them alone together. Hoping nothing burned down. Dmitr immediately rose his voice slightly and he stepped towards her, leaning into her slightly. He couldn't help but look into her eyes, hw wasn't supposed to be hitting on her. He was supposed to be intimidating. He knew nothing about her, didn't even think that Ivan had met a girl..atleast for more than one night. How long had they been together? Couldn't possibly be very long.

"What do you think you're doing?! You can't just walk in and take my friend away from me. He never told me one bit about you, for all I know you could be a Cop..."

Angelia simply smirked when Dmitri called her a bitch in Russian. Her Russian was pretty good. Although she had learned it in college. But she was excellent with cursing. Obviously, she had learned the bad words first in Russian. She felt Ivan stiffen at her side when Dmitri swore at her. It was kind of sweet in a humorous sort of way. He was sticking up for her. Angie could see it, although he had not spoken a word. However, it appeared Dmitri and Ivan's fictitious friendship was so tight that no words were necessary. She just had to look at Dmitri's reaction to her plans for Ivan as evidence.

Angelica was just about to retort something unpleasant, when one of Ivan's men came and pulled him to the side. She hoped he wouldn't be too long. They had actual real non-work related plans and Angie was looking forward to it. She couldn't remember the last time they had just gone out on a normal date. A few couple of months, at least. If not more.

It was unexpected when Dmitri moved into her space all of a sudden. Even more unexpected was his intent and unrelenting gaze locked with hers. Angelica plastered a smirk to her face, ignoring how her body was reacting to his nearness. She listened as he spoke his piece. When he mentioned the bit about being a cop, Angelica just about managed to keep the grimace from her features. Though she was pretty used to it and just smiled wider.

"Cry me a river." She said take a step closer, leaving little between. Looking up to hold his dark hypnotic gaze. She could not deny the fact he was beyond handsome . . . or dangerous. "I can do whatever the hell I like." She told him calmly with a smile. "Maybe I am a cop. Shall I get my badge out, bend you over, handcuff and arrest you?" She laughed.

Yet the image of him in handcuffs was appealing and not for the law abiding reason it should be. Maybe because a headboard was involved too.

It was just then, the man who had whisked Ivan away, appeared at her side. Angelica raised a brow, mildly annoyed he had interrupted her little daydream fantasy.

"Ivan had to go. Says don't wait up. He'll call you later."

"What?!" Angelica practically barked but the man had already turned and walked away.

She couldn't believe Jack was doing this to her tonight! Dumping her for work. He'd promised! Promised they'd go out after the auction! Teeth grinding; she was so mad! It was quite unlike her. Turning to face Dmitri once more, she huffed infuriated.

"Wanna get out of here?"

Dmitri only got more and more infuriated. She was..so.....He couldn't even think of a word for her. She was horrible. Sure, she was good looking and if she wasn't such a bitch, he'd happily-not the point. He was mad at her. He stared deep down into her eyes. He wasn't exactly protesting to her moving closer to him. Not that he'd admit he enjoyed it. He wasn't supposed to like this woman. Who'd just appeared out of nowhere and taken things by force. But...Maybe it wasn't actually her fault. Ivan was the one who hadn't told him. This could have been a serious thing for months and she's just...here. Even though he was thinking these things, a smile was brought to his face when she got told that Ivan had ditched her.

"Good ol' Ivan huh? Never abandons anyone...Especially me...Not even once."

He smirked at her and then wondered about her offer. She might not be too bad. If he just spent some time with her, surely he needed to get on with her. Get on with her, she allows him to keep hanging out with Ivan. Everyone's a winner, especially Dmitri. He was thinking of where he could take her when the perfect place came to mind. It was classy. Bluesy. Somewhere she might like. Not too risque for her.

"Sure...I actually know somewhere we can go and...get to know eachother.."

His smirk returned and he winked at her. They walked together and he called a cab. When they did arrive at the club and entered the entire place was bathed in a blue-ish light. Burlesque. One of very few 'arts' that Dmitri fully appreciated. He guided her to a booth and asked her to sit down. He gazed around the room and saw a few people that he knew but not much else. He turned to her and said.

"This is one of the classiest places I know...Maybe we could get you up there on that stage at some point.."

A groan escaped her lips as she attempted to open her eyes and shut them again quickly. The light hurting her eyes. She groaned again as she forced herself to sit up in bed. What had she done last night?! She tried to remember but she just drew blank. Plus, thinking was making her head pound even worse then it already was. She wasn't a good drinker. At all. Yet, Angelica couldn't still figure out what had led her to turn to the bottle last night. She didn't think she'd had a hangover like this since her college days. It had been rare even then.

Swinging out of bed, Angie headed to the bathroom. Standing in front of the sink and mirror, she examined her appearance running a hand through her bedraggled hair. She looked ruff. Slipping into a loose shirt she found on the floor, Angelica brushed her teeth on autopilot. She just needed to get an Aspirin and she'd be fine. She told herself. It was obviously her own stupidity so she deserved to be feeling like crap. That's what she got for drinking too much.

Strolling into the living room on her way to the kitchen to get the Aspirin. Angie suddenly stopped in her tracks. Who the hell was that?! There was a half naked stranger on her couch. She walked around the couch cautiously to get a better look at who it was. She stopped before him frowning. The frown deepening when recognition finally drew.

What the heck was Dmitri Kasovski doing on her couch?! She tried to ignore the fact of how good he looked ruffled, half naked and splayed across her couch.

"Dmitri." Angelica nudged him with a finger. "Dmitri!" She tried again shaking him with a hand. When he didn't stir, she rolled him off the couch, enjoying the confused look across his face as he groaned. "Ah, how kind of you to get up." She smirked down at him. "Now, how about getting out before I kick you out."

Dmitri wasn't dreaming. At all. When his forehead hit the floor and the pain doubled with his hangover, he groaned and began to stand up. He noticed a breeze and then noticed that he was half-naked. He looked down at himself, looked to her and smirked. Now...Waking up inside a woman's home half-naked, not a new experience for Dmitri but the fact it was Ivan's girl and after the first day of meeting. This was something new. Dmitri scanned the room and lifted his phone into his hand and laid back on the couch.

"Come on now...I'm a guest and...I have leverage over you..."

He lounged back and peered over his phone to her. The music of the club began playing again as he peered at his phone, apparently appreciating the view and he looked over his phone again before speaking once more.

"Where do you hide it all? Sheesh. Should come out more often..."

Of course he didn't tell her what he was talking about at first, having his fill before he turned the phone around and showed her. Enjoying every detail of her facial expression as she realised what was being shown to her. The Russian watched her and waited for her reaction. She was quite attractive though and if Ivan wasn't-What was he thinking? Screw it. If it was in his head it was okay right?

Angelica tried to ignore his lean abs and tight muscles and all that pale skin that she couldn't hide the desire to touch. But then she remember who he was. An arrogant criminal who had just gotten back up and lay back on her couch, instead of leaving as she had asked him. She didn't have the time or patience to deal with him. Especially, since his presence was having a very bad affect on her self control. Something Angelica wasn't used to.

"Guests are welcome. You're not." She told him frankly.

She was about to tell him where he could stick his leverage when the noise from his phone caught her attention. It sounded familiar put she couldn't place it. She frowned not understanding his next comment. When he first turned his phone on her, it took her a few seconds to realise it was her.

"Oh God!" Her eyes widened at what she was seeing. She lepted at him with only one thought in mind . . . "Give me that!"
