Personality

Kayo has always been a caring person who's only wish is to protect those dearest to him, though he doesn't talk very much, so doesn't have that many friends.
He has a vested interest in magic, though he is more interested in using it to enhance his own abilities, rather than rely on magic as his source of strength.
Kayo is generally a very passive individual, however may become very violent if tempered under certain situations.
It is usually quite easy to become friends with Kayo as he doesn't dislike people without having a good reason.

Equipment and Abilities

- Yakusoku -
A Katana with a black grip, dark red handle, and a dark silver blade.
It's name is taken from "Yakusoku suru", which means "Promise".
Instead of naming his katana after a great deed he has done, Kayo has named it after acts of kindness which have yet to happen.

- Magic -
As Kayo comes from a village that is opposed to the use of magic, Kayo specialises in what he calls "Hidden Magic"
which involves manipulating his senses through the use of magic.
Practical uses of this magic may be increasing his own reaction time by altering his perception of the passing of time, or increasing his ability to see in pitch black areas by speeding up the process of his eyes adjusting to the dark.

History

Having come from the village of Kanimo, life has been a bit dull for Kayo. While the village itself is a nice place to live and the people are rather friendly, it's their long lasting hate of magic that sets Kayo aside from the village, though had known about this until recently.

With the small size of his village, there was no school for Kayo to go to, as such it is typically the parent's job to educate the children of the village.
Kayo's mother was a kind lady who sought the good in everything, and taught him to do the same, though he never quite caught on.
She also taught him that the world was a wonderful place, and that there were many beauties in the world that had yet to be discovered by anyone in the village. It was perhaps this very belief that drove Kayo to become a warrior, thinking he could travel anywhere with a blade and a full stomach, and not have to worry about what may be around the next corner.

Discovering his own magical abilities was an accident on Kayo's part, as he rushed to the aid of a younger child who was being bullied in the park. He found everything had began to move a bit slower as he wished to make it to the child before the bullies could land their next attack. Though when he asked the child, they knew nothing about time moving slowly, and accused a nearby magic user of slowing down the entire town.

After realising what he could do, Kayo used his free time to harness his ability, and grew stronger in preparation of his future adventures.
From this, he learnt a number of enchantments he could cast upon himself to enhance his natural abilities, and take advantage of the way his mind worked.

It wasn't until he came of age, which was sixteen in the village, that his magical prowess became known to all he knew.
Kayo had applied to become one of the guards, and during his exam he made use of his magic to smash every entrance record the village had ever seen.

At the end of his trial, he was summoned to the village elder, who deemed him a magician and banished him.

Kayo was never to return to Kanimo again.

So begins...

Kayo, having been exiled from his home, stood before the passage leading between two mountains. Hayame and Orina. The two mountains that overlook the peaceful woods which shelter the village had never looked so tall. He had often wondered what the world looked like from the other side, but never thought he would cross under such circumstances.

Needing to clear his head and carefully plan his next steps, Kayo sat down beside the path, leaning on the base of a fir tree.
First of all, he didn't want to leave with a sour impression of Kanimo. So he tried his best to block out the bad memories, and bring to light those which he cherished.

After saying a fond farewell to the village, he turned once again to face the passage. A long, thin road leading through the crack in the mountains, separating Hayame from Orina lay before him. He stood tall and composed, took a deep breath, and began his journey.

The sailor shook his head in bewilderment as he beheld the 2 humans kneedeep in grass and the one walking from the mountains. The latter one, to him looked so effeminate he had seen Oandite wenches more masculine to him. He responded to Ethas: Aye, my name is Llonx Kavry, and what be ye name? And d'ye have any idea where this locale is?

After spacing out for a second, Kayo looked around to find himself in an unfamiliar environment. He turned back to find a different path to the one he had just traversed. Kayo stood before three figures, who seemed to be introducing themselves. One was a hooded blonde, the next a muscular dark haired man, and lastly a mysterious female.

"You're in the Undita Realm" caught his attention. Had he been pulled into another dimension?
So far he had not been able to research much about the magic of his world, but having heard stories from passing travellers, it did seem possible.

Faced by the chance to explore a whole new dimension, Kayo couldn't help but smile to himself.
"It seems things are going to get interesting" he thought to himself.

Llonx's looked again at the approaching traveller. He did not seem to have initiated conversation yet, but Llonx felt he had the intention to start talking, so he half-acknowledged him with a quick glance as he waited for a split second for Mralik's response. Meanwhile, his mind dove back into his thoughts about concerns back home.

"I have a great debt. 4,000 pieces of eight, just for a keel repair." He thought. "And this mission would have repaid that whole debt, along with what was set upon me in the brothel! In total, my debt is 9,500 pieces of eight. Admirtal Jholosk and Emir Karrakheistromm Vhanthaghorest both gave me a quest, and they said if i sunk that ostentatious Ioioan tub, my crew'd be paid 800,000 pieces of 8, and since i'm the captain, i'd collect 160,000! That'd be enough to buy me a decent house in Rhysus proper, and I could finally fund Eyvur's alchemy project!"

As Kayo approached the three figures, he raised his arm and gave out a friendly wave, to signal that he was a fellow traveller.

"Excuse me! I'm sorry but would any of you mind telling me where the nearest town is?" He enquired. The first thing he needed to do in this new world was find somewhere he could take shelter in for now and possibly find work. Kayo would also need travelling supplies if he were to explore this fantastic new dimension.

He now stood before the three, scratching his head thinking of what to say. "You see I'm a long way from home, and am unfamiliar with these parts" he explained.

From the reaction of the travellers he would be able to depict whether he was indeed in a new world or not. If they tell him he just came from Kanimo which would be the closest village, he would know he was still in the same world.
However, if they answer differently it would confirm that he was indeed somewhere else altogether.

"Wotcha!" He greeted. "I'm a newcomer here, too. I don't know any towns around this immediate locale. So if you're looking for a shelter, like me, i think it's best you ask Ethas here about a good place to stay. He knows the most about this place. And i forgot to introduce meself! I'm Llonx Kavry, who're you?"

"Found the other guy," Ethas muttered. "'Sup!" he called to the now appearing boy. "Nearest town's about a half pite from here. West. Pite is a half mile, if that helps. Be careful. Townspeople might collectively beat me in levels of insanity That's saying a whole Nolt of a lot."
Mralik turned to Llonx to answer his earlier question. "Rylek is a town in very far away place. It's still in... What did Blondy call it? Undita! Still here in Undita."

He pulled up his navy blue sleeve, encrusted with salt and sand, revealing a wristwatch which spun erratically. Perhaps this world had an effect on his world's timekeepers? He breathed heavily on it, and the glass became foggy. Llonx wiped the spit-fog off of the watch, revealing a compass. "Ah. At least this world didn't make compasses go awry." He thought. Pointing west, he faced that direction, and looked at a vague path in the grass.

To Mralik, he said "Oh, okay."

Striking a bold pose, he joked "Don't worry Ethas! Once they see that you're with me, they'll cast their cudgels to the ground!"

He fastened his backpack, and brushed off the sand that might make his movement uncomfortable.

"Let's hope the town's not like New Shrabney..." he thought.
