Personality:
Ayano is a quiet, introverted girl with family issues. She is very frail and sensitive; the slightest expression of anger or annoyance directed at her is enough to make her see that silver kitchen knife as a friend. Talking with her is a challenge she usually doesn't speak unless spoken to but she sometimes start conversations of her own. She tries to appear stoic and strong but fails half of the time. Most of the time, she feels like she is living in a limbo, never going anywhere, never reaching anything.
Appearance:
(Model: Alice Kuonji from Mahou Tsukai no Yoru)
Cause of Unhappiness:
Lack of appreciation, tired of waiting, depression, a certain "incident"
History:
Ayano was the daughter of a modest middle class family among a clan of well-off families. She had a lot of strict rules and expectations placed upon her as she grew up leading her to think that she always has to please her relatives. It had a positive effect: She got the best grades during her entire elementary life. The problem is: Intelligence isn’t really a trait that her family valued highly. She would often be teased on how she can’t play a single physical sport or play a musical instrument, causing her to be looked down upon by her other relatives.
High school came and became a crucial moment for Ayano. She began to notice that her cousins always got some sort of reward, whether material or abstract for the simplest things, while she was taught to put up with none. She noticed how a lot of her classmates and cousins usually get together on trips with their families. She tried asking her family but only usually got the same answer: “Maybe next time.”
“Next time” never really came for Ayano. She soon got tired of waiting and expecting, seeing as how her parents were always busy with work and her other relatives always made her feel unappreciated and looked down upon. Before she knew it, she had stopped trying. She stopped trying to excel anymore, stopped trying to please others and just went about her own pace. She became just an average student in terms of her class standing. The things she usually does that normally bring her happiness became a simple chore that she has to do. She had gotten depression. Which was made worse by a certain incident that happened as she was walking home from school one late evening.
She couldn’t remember much except hearing the sound of a van pull over beside her, an arm brushing on her neck, blacking out, waking up in a cold and dark alleyway with the sound of sirens resounding in the distance, blacking out again before finally waking up in a hospital. There she was informed that one of her kidneys was taken out by the notorious “white van” syndicate. The incident had left a permanent scar on her that made her feel depressed all the more, making her wear very conservative clothing.
Currently, she is studying in college without interacting much and as usual, doing things like a chore rather than something that makes her happy. She tries to maintain a perfect attendance, if just to maintain a diligent student image.
