My dark brown eyes slowly crept open as I felt the wheels of the plane touch the ground beneath me. I blinked a few times as I tried to focus my vision on the window that was too far to see much. All I knew was that it was a bright sunny day; something that I hadn’t had the privilege of seeing while I left the snow covered New York City. I was seated in an aisle seat, which was possibly my least favorite position on a plane. A First Class window seat was the way to go, but I was the average college student trying to live as cheap as possible. Shit, I wouldn’t have even traveled across the world if it wasn’t going to be paid for. I would never pay to study psychology in fucking Australia. I didn’t even want to think about what it would cost. Besides, with my girlfriend slightly against it, only the free admission was enough to reel me in. I did enjoy traveling though, and this was the place to see if I was going to go anywhere.

So far I only knew of a few things that were somewhat important about my arrival. First, I’d be meeting with another guy that was on the plane. I thought I might have seen him, but I wasn’t entirely sure. I was also going to have some sort of chaperone lady getting us familiar with the city and the continent. I had managed to email her a few times, and she seemed fairly nice. She gave a lot of helpful little tips and even gave me the names of some places to go party on my down time. I was somewhat anxious to meet her, mainly because I wondered what she sounded and looked like. If she was ugly then maybe I could show my girlfriend Sasha that there was nothing to worry about. She didn’t like how friendly this Nicole girl had been, but Sasha just wasn’t used to people being nice a genuine just because. If Nicole was good looking, I’d keep her appearance to myself. I’m sure Sasha wouldn’t be jealous, but it would surely worry her, at least a little. Secondly, I needed to make as many friends as possible so I could get around in this city. It wasn’t that hard when you smiled most of the time, and when you partied with people, you tended to bond a lot more. Maybe that’s what I needed to do tonight. Lastly… I looked down at my clothes. I was wearing jeans, a black thermal, a black cardigan with thin gray stripes on it, black and gray sneakers, and gray and black snapback cap that read I ♥ Haters. I wasn’t dressed for the weather at the moment, but come on, there was no way I was going to wear shorts in New York in February. I was thinking ahead anyway. I dressed in layers, so all I’d have to do was peel them away and stuff the leftover into my carry-on bag. I took my cardigan off first, and then I slipped off my thermal which revealed a gray t-shirt that had Just Do IT in black letters. I stuffed the cardigan and thermal into bag while the captain wished everyone a wonderful day. Good thing I got a shitty seat toward the middle of the plane. It meant I had time to strip a little. I saw wasn’t the only one who had my idea which made me feel more comfortable. I quickly kicked off my sneakers and pulled off my pants to reveal black cargo shorts. I stuffed my jeans in my bag with my other clothes and smirked as I straightened out my snapback and put my sneakers back on.

“Perfect.” I said to myself before looking at the two people seated beside me. They tried their best to mind their businesses, but I was sure they found my performance odd. I learned to always heed the words of locals, so if Nicole said I needed to be naked to survive, I guess I might have to be a nudist. Surely, it wouldn’t be that extreme, but the example was clear. When it was time to, I stood up from my seat, and grabbed a medium sized bag from the overhead compartment. With that and the backpack on, I walked down the aisle and headed off the plane. As I walked off, I gave the flight attendant seeing everyone out a smile as she said…

“Welcome to Australia.”

“Thanks.” I said as I returned the smile and walked onto the aerobridge. I took out my phone and sent a quick text to my mom to tell her that I had landed, which was protocol for her first born. I then made a call to Sasha. We were 15 hours apart, and it was about two in the afternoon. I’d probably be her wake up call, but I was sure she would appreciate hearing my voice. I heard the phone ring a few times before hearing her pick up. “Hello?”

“Hey babe...” She sounded like she had just gotten up. Damn, I was good at making someone’s morning.

“Hey, I just wanted to let you know that I’m very alive and I made it safely to Australia… I still can’t believe this.” I said as I walked out from the aerobridge.

“That’s good… How is it?”

“Well I’m still at the airport. I gotta find that girl Nicole first… Shit.”

“What?”

“I can’t see her.” I lied as I eyed the girl with the sign. Fuck, why did she have to be hot? I saw two others by her. They looked as if they were trying to figure out if I was one of their guys, while I tried to figure out if that was Nicole. “Sasha, I’m gonna let you get some sleep. I’ll call you later today.”

“Mhm… Alright.” She said half asleep. Smirked at her tone.

“Love you.”

“Love you too.”

“Bye.” I said as I hung up the phone and gave my full attention towards the girl I was 99% sure was Nicole. Her sign did have Bond University on it, so I couldn’t be wrong. She was probably one of the most attractive girls I’d ever seen. It was like staring at a real life goddess. God damn she was a dime (ten)! Natural blonde, blue eyes, curves in the right places, a killer smile, and she was foreign, so her accent was just bonus points. I couldn’t help but smile at her as I greeted. What guy wouldn’t?

“Hey, you’re Nicole right? I’m Mike, the guy that…” I paused as she shook her head in denial.

“I’m Morgan… I think you have the wrong person. I’m looking for a Robert.” The female said as she backed up with a smile. Her accent almost made me forget what she had said, so I kind of just stood there for a second before looking over at another female holding a sign. She was a brunette standing with a male and a female. I looked to the blonde and sighed before shrugging.

“Sorry about the confusion.” I said embarrassed. She just made an uneasy smile.

“Hope you find Nicole.” She teased while I shook my head in embarrassment. I just hoped the real Nicole hadn’t seen what I did. I could always play it off as if I was just excited to see my first Australian. Ah fuck it. As I approached the brunette I could clearly see my first name on it along with that other guy’s name. Rory.

“Nicole?” I questioned her identity with my eyebrows raised. She was definitely attractive, which made me guess that attending this university in a long distance relationship might be hard. The school was 2 for 2 for hot… Never mind, 3 for 3. Her friend beside her was good looking as well. I should have known this would happen, but hey at least I had self control and willpower…

Damn, did you feel that? I think life just doubted me…

Seeing as I didn't actually know what my foreign boys looked like I found my gaze shifting away from the door people were departing the plane were coming from and towards the souvenir store. I guess you could say I have the attention span of a gold fish, but they had the latest Seafolly bathers displayed out the front so who could blame me. I wonder if I got time to try a few, I could really do with a new pair... My head instinctively turned towards my right as I heard a stranger speak my name. I arched my eyebrow seeing Morgan flaunt me her usually 'I'm better than you' smile before returning her attention to a tall African American male dress in a gray t-shirt and black cargo shorts. Please don't tell me this is one of my guys. I shook my head in irritation knowing this would only provide her with more ammunition to rub in my face. "Even the foreign boys would rather have me than you!" I mocked her voice in my mind. I don't know why she was so obsessed with proving she was better than me. Karen reckons it was because I stole her boyfriend from her in year five, but that was like years ago surely she couldn't still be hung up about it. It wasn't even a serious relationship, I'm pretty sure back then boys still had cooties. I shrugged and then shook my head. Whatever. She can knock herself out with the international lads there are plenty national boys available...and if I recall her track record it will last a week tops. Morgan might look like a million dollars (or to some like a $2 lady of the night) on the outside but once you look deeper inside you will find....absolutely nothing!

Maybe I could pawn him off to her...that would give me more free time. I smirked to myself but the corners of my lips immediately dropped seeing him now standing in front of me. I was so caught up in my own thoughts I didn't even notice him leaving Morgan's side and approaching me. My mouth slowly edged itself open so I could verify who I was but before any sound came out another voice spoke. My gaze shifted to my left seeing another tall male with lushes black locks standing before me. Wow...his hair it's so... I felt slightly jealous at how fresh and neat his hair looked compared to mine. I hadn't bothered to wash my hair this morning and just tied it up in a loose ponytail. My fascination with his hair immediately vanished when my eyes trailed down towards his attire. "You might want to considering changing your clothes," I blurted out in a rather serious tone. Realising my rudeness I quickly flashed him a apologetic smile, "...uh sorry it's nothing against your clothes...your jeans are really nice...but its like 40C plus outside...so you might want to slip into something a little more comfortable...unless you are one of those people that don't feel the heat then just ignore everything I've just said..." I suddenly paused to take a breath as I realising I was talking way too much and way too fast. I don't know what it was but I suddenly felt rather nervous and to make matters worse I hadn't even introduced myself.

"Yes I'm the infamous Nicole who has been harassing you by email the last month," I awkwardly chuckled at my poor attempt to make a joke. "You must be Michael Hayes....and Rory Lamb," I was about to lean in to give them a welcoming hug but remembering that they were from America I decided to shake their hand instead in case it wasn't custom for them to hug back home. "We should probably go get the rest of your luggage but in the meantime how was the flight? Long I presume?" I lead them towards the baggage carousel.

First impression of Nicole… She didn’t want to be bothered doing this, but at least she tried to act like she cared. It was probably graded or something, and I couldn’t blame her for not wanting to show some foreigners around when she could be doing something else that fit her lifestyle. I couldn’t tell whether or not she was a book worm or partier. It was mostly due to the way she came off. Then again, it was the first impression. I wouldn’t be able to get a good read on her until at least later today.

Her comment on Rory not being dressed for the weather made me smirk as I focused on his hair. I’d be more worried about his hair catching on fire. I wasn’t the best at converting Celsius to Fahrenheit, but I was pretty sure 40 degrees Celsius was close to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. This heat was going to be amazing. I enjoyed warm weather, and being on the coast made it even more perfect. Hot weather meant less clothes. Less clothes meant more eye candy. Keywords: Eye Candy. I had to keep telling myself that my sight, my imagination, and sometimes my hand would be my only gateway to pleasure while studying here in Australia. I wasn’t sure if Rory was single, but if he was, the guy had it made. At least if he managed to survive the sun while he was here.

“You can just call me Mike… and the flight wasn’t one I’d like to remember. And harass? The only person that was bothered by your constant, yet very helpful emails was a special someone I left back… She gets skeptical sometimes.” I chuckled comfortably before looking to Rory. Instinctively, I wanted to see if he would display some sort of agreement. Stiff seats, shitty snacks, and disconnection from the world… The only good thing about it was that I could listen to music and sleep for hours without being called lazy. I then turned back to Daniel and Karen. The two appeared to be doing their own thing and probably had a few guys of their own they had to chaperone. My sights then returned to Rory. “So where you from? I’m from New York” I asked him as we stopped at the baggage claim area. My eyes focused on the carousel as luggage began to cycle on it. I couldn’t wait to walk out those doors and embrace the world I thought I’d only dream of seeing.

I had no Idea how to change Celsius to Fahrenheit so I pulled out my phone and pretended to send a text while I searched what 40 Celsius was in Fahrenheit. Damn it was going to be a scorcher once we got outside. All of this hair wouldn't help either. Then she mentioned my clothes and I realized this wouldn't make it that fun in the hot weather. But oh well I could always change in one of the bathrooms, I packed plenty of shorts and t's to change into. Although I've definitely been in this weather before and it wasn't that bad. Well it was that bad but there was always ways too cool off. As I trailed off on how I should dress in my head Nicole asked about the flight. It would seem as Mike didn't have as fun of a flight as I did.

"Better than the only other flight I've been on. Got to see the sea from above, I thought that was pretty sweet. Slept over most of the ocean and woke up shortly after we started flying above land. All of the animals here, it's such an amazing place!" I said a little over enthusiastically. But I was so excited to be seeing things I thought I'd never be able to see, and people live here every day! So much excitement built up inside of myself I could hardly contain it! Michael seemed a little less than enthusiastic but still excited to be here.

"I'm from Idaho, the middle of nowhere. This will be a nice change of pace for me hopefully" I said following them to the luggage belt. "When I get my bags could you point me to the nearest restroom so I can change into some lighter clothing?" I asked Nicole while I waited for my luggage. It may be hot outside but I couldn't be more excited to step out into that heat.

I took a step back from the luggage belt so they had enough room to pull off their baggage as it came around. I couldn’t help but arch my eyebrow slightly hearing Mike saying something about a special someone he left back in America. Poor Morgan…I hope his not one of those guys that has to ask his girlfriend for permission before doing anything. I shuddered as I watched various shaped suitcases go around and around on the belt. Nothing more off putting than a man that is WHIPPED! The thought made me smirk as I could picture Karen pulling out her iphone and turning on the pocket whip app. I really shouldn’t judge…but it’s kind of odd how she is cool with him going overseas to study but can’t handle a couple of emails….hmm, don’t want to jinx it cause he seems like a nice guy but I highly doubt it will last. When do love distance relationships ever last? Even though it was destined for failure I wasn’t going to be a part of the destruction, no matter how charming and good looking he maybe I was no home wrecker. Looking but no touching. I’m pretty sure I would kill my boyfriend if he planned to go overseas for a year without me. Good luck to them.

My eyes trailed towards Rory as I heard him speak. He seemed far more enthusiastic and energized than Mike; it probably had something to do with the fact that he slept most of the plane ride. His cheerful attitude seemed to boost my own mood as the corner of my lips instinctively pulled up into a smile. Rory didn’t mention anything about leaving a special someone behind which is what I liked to hear. Single and ready mingle. Not that I had planned to get with any of them but shit does tend to happen when you drink and I do love late night cuddles. Just to make it clear I am not a slut! I don’t just jump into random people’s bed but if we come home late…and tipsy…and his keen I ain’t gonna decline a free invitation. He seems like a pretty decent guy from first impressions. I shook my head, keep it in your pants Nicole. “They are just over there…” I pointed in the direction of bathrooms. Just then Karen and her exchange student walk passed us.

“Can we swap foreigners…my guy can’t bloody speak a word of English,” Karen swiftly whispered in my ear as she and her exchange student walked passed us to take up position near the baggage belt. Before she got out of reached I grabbed her by the arm and spun her back towards me.

“Why does it matter just do the naked man surely he will understand that,” I chuckled before letting her go. She just walked off grinning and shaking her head. I probably shouldn’t have said that because knowing Karen she would most likely do it. “So I know half the day is already gone and you guys are probably jetlag but is there anything in particular you guys want to do or see today? Maybe go to the beach? Or would you rather just relax and then go sightseeing tomorrow?” I was hoping they were cool with just going with the flow because I was really keen to go to Jeremy’s annual hotel pool party. His family owns Hotel Grand Chancellor which is located in the heart of Surfers Paradise and every month or so when it’s quieter in the hotel his father allows him to throw these massive parties in order to boost business. After a few drinks it’s easier to just hire out a hotel room than try to find your way back to you dorm room.
Although I was keen to party if they wanted to go do something in particular I would happily show them around after all they did just kind of spend all day on an aeroplane and it would be rude of me to just bring them back to my dorm and leave them there. Surely after studying business for three years I should be able to priorities myself so that everyone would be happy.

I managed to smile at Rory’s enthusiasm. It seemed that this excursion was something he had been wanting since possibly before the opportunity even came up. Or perhaps people from Idaho were just a lot livelier than city folk. I had never met anyone from there, and I probably couldn’t accurately recall where it was in the United States. I was sure it was out west and probably had a smaller population in the state than the city of New York, but this was all just speculation. All in all, Rory seemed like a cool guy that I could get along with. He wasn’t a douche and he wasn’t whiney. The thought of a man whining made me cringe. Luckily it was a short lived reaction as I had spotted one of my bags. It was a large blue duffle bag that looked heavier than it probably actually was.

I walked up and grabbed it before setting it down by Nicole. I was glad I made it a habit to hit the gym or carrying my third bag that was coming would be hell on earth. When I saw Nicole point towards the restrooms I immediately felt my bladder tingle. Sure, I wanted to take a leak after such a long flight, but I could man up until I found my other bag. I set my blue duffle down on the floor in between the distance from me to Nicole. I was only several steps away from her. I couldn’t help but look her over with my eyes while she spoke to her friend. Within the next second, I turned from her sighed while shaking my head. It was only the first god damned day! Wait… the first day is always the hardest. Technically it was like the second day due to the flight over here. Ah fuck it.

I tried to get my thoughts together, but my past self haunted me like a vengeful ghost. If only I was single… That damn thought seemed to bounce into my head a lot, which wasn’t a good thing. Maybe it was though. I was acknowledging that I wasn’t single to myself, and at the same time I wasn’t doing anything wrong. I was a good guy, coolheaded, athletic, loved to have a good time, and I could definitely enjoy being here.

Before I could think anymore, I noticed a second duffle bag of mine. This one was a dark red and black. The color fit with what a burden it would be to carry; the devil of luggage. I walked up and grabbed it with both hands gripped on one of the straps before lifting it out of the carousel. My muscles were getting a good wake up after sitting around doing nothing. I noticed a few eyes on me and the bag. They probably wondered what could be inside or how heavy it was. Or maybe Damn that black man is fine! Okay, maybe I was being a little conceded… a little. I set the bag beside the other I had placed on the floor and sighed with relief.

With my attention now off the bags and mostly on Nicole, I decided to hear her out. She was asking what we wanted to do, and I already had the answer for that. Her suggestions were nice, but I could tell she was holding back… If she wasn’t, then I was going to start to think she didn’t know how to host a pair of American guys that were in college. I just prayed Rory was the partying type, then again, he was so enthused with being here, he was probably down to do anything here.

“I’m fine with sightseeing tomorrow… but tonight, let’s have some fun. Do something big! I’m down to go out to a club or something and get some drinks. Fuck, anything with alcohol involved.” I said with the best persuasive smile I could give. I was sure I sounded like an alcoholic with that last line, but I really didn’t want to have some fun. And through my experiences, alcohol is the best icebreaker.

Nicole pointed out the bathroom as I waited for my luggage to come around. Then she asked if we wanted to go site seeing today or tomorrow, or chill, or what we wanted to do. "I don't really mind, whatever works for me. Something fun, make a good first impression for your country" I said joking around. Then I saw my luggage come around. A single black duffle bag filled with clothes, my xbox and games, and whatever else I felt I needed to bring for the stay until I could get money to buy it. Such as toiletries. I grabbed my bag and made my way off to the restroom.

I walked into the handicap stall and started going through my bad. I got a pair of white shorts I had brought along, and a white nike t-shirt with a blue nike logo on the front of it. Perfect for hot weather, and with all the sun it should shine off me and make me seem all the more radiant. And I was already wearing my white and plaid DC shoes. I started changing into my clothing then put my old clothes rather sloppily back into my bag. I then grabbed my bag and left the stall and took a look in the mirror. "Damn I look good" I said with a smile before turning to leave the restroom.

Once changed I made my way back to Nicole and Michael. "So what are our plans for the evening" I said as I set my bag down next to myself, excited and ready to go!

"That looks better..." I uttered as I eyed Rory up and down once he returned from the restrooms. Going to be an interesting year living with these boys. Although they were revealing more skin and looking less touristy only time will tell if they could handle the Australian heat. I was born and raised here yet I sometimes still struggle with the temperature. If only being nude was normal, but then again most of the time the only way too cool down is to just sit in a bath filled with ice. Mhmmm...nice! I nodded my head in agreement to my own thoughts before returning my attention towards a Rory and Michael. "Well, a guy from our school is holding a pool party at his family's hotel...we could check that out?...everyone from school will be going so it would give you the opportunity to meet some of your classmates and..." I paused mid sentences as I spotted Morgan approaching. Here we go.

"You found Nicole, ain't she just a pretty thing," Morgan mocked as she winked at Michael.

"What you want Morgan?" I spoke in a harsh tone whilst my arms crossed over my chest. Why she always gotta be the centre of attention? Doesn't she have her own exchange student to harass?

"So feisty...unfortunately one of my guys dropped out last minute so I have a spare bed available in my dorm if anyone interested..." She moved in closer to Michael and fluttered her eyelash whilst her hand caressed across his chest. I swallowed dry feeling my breakfast coming back up. Thank God I didn't have milk this morning. I could see Morgan turn on her heel and face Rory but before she could strike I swiftly stepped in-between.

"How nice..." I cringed slightly. "...for you to offer but I think they are all good! Thanks but no thanks...oh what's that Mr McKenzie time to get on the bus? Let's go!" I grabbed them both by the arm and swiftly dragged them away from her not really caring whether they had got all their luggage or not.

"Room 45!" Morgan shouted after us.

After a short while I stopped walking and let them go. "Sorry about that she...um...you guys got all your stuff?" I decided to change the subject so that I wouldn't say anything offensive. "Maybe we should wait outside by the bus...that way we can get a good seat." I moved towards the exit doors hoping they would follow.

Nearly as soon as I got back from the restrooms this one girl named Morgan came up to us flirting with me and Mike. Well Mike mainly, Nicole stepped between me and Morgan when she tried to have a go at me. It was highly amusing, she seemed like a jealous girl friend that was defending her man from some other woman trying to have a go at him. Next thing I know Nicole grabbed us both by the hand and started dragging us behind her. I quickly grabbed my duffle bag as she pulled us away from that general vicinity.

Even though it seemed like mike had something going on back in the states with a girl I felt like he would be visiting Morgan while we were on our trip. Although she seemed a little bit too eager to get one of us in that extra bed of hers. She may have been good looking, but on the off chance she was a slut I'd steer clear of her on my trip. "Ha, that was cute, you're like a jealous girl friend" I said with a laugh as we walked off to the exit of the airport.

"That party you were talking about sounds fun, perfect way to start out our stay in Australia." I said. Then the door to the airport opened and the wave of heat hit me in the face. "Wow you were right about it being hot out here. It's like a hot summers day back at home. Nothing a pool party won't fix right?"

I couldn’t help but feel a tinge of excitement as Nicole explained the details of the party that was going on tonight. Enjoying alcohol, music, and dancing was something I didn’t think I’d ever grow out of. Whether I was single or in a relationship, I always found it adventurous and great fun. I was ready to hear more about the party, but a familiar voice was heard. Well Morgan wasn’t someone I’d call familiar, but I recognized the voice. My attention centered on the blonde as she commented on me finding Nicole. The wink she sent my way was surprisingly received as I instinctively smiled.

My smile was short lived however as Nicole spoke to Morgan. I had a feeling Morgan was coming across as sarcastic, but I was just hoping that I was hearing something wrong in her accent. I already knew they didn’t like each other as their eyes locked. Morgan seemed to find it easy to mask her distaste with a smile as she probably felt more superior and confident. On the other end of the spectrum stood Nicole, who openly displayed her dislike for Morgan with not just her tone and words, but her body language was just leaking with a feeling that could only be described as ‘Get the Fuck Out of My Face’. My eyes darted from one pretty face to the other, just examining their expressions, before the darker parts of my mind made me want to smile. Now when Morgan mentioned a spare bed, that’s when I thought things were going to get more real than I expected. Her attention came my way as she got close and caressed my chest. It wasn’t something I was expecting so I didn’t even get a chance to reject or fully accept her gesture. Good thing it was quick, because I didn’t need to be making any big decisions yet. If I was single, her invitation would be taken with ease, but right now, I was just trying to be indifferent about all this.

When she seemed to make her way towards Rory, I raised an eyebrow before Nicole sprung into action. Her words didn’t match her expression, but I guess she was acting too fast for her faked demeanor. I snickered to myself before shaking my head. It was then that Nicole reached out and missed my arm she intended to grab. My eyes widened in shock as I attempted to jump back, but this chick had fast hands... I wonder how

“Wait!” I exclaimed as luckily Nicole gripped my belt buckle and pulled me away. I managed to grab both my bags as I followed her… Well fuck I was dragged around like a damn sex slave. I heard Morgan yell out, but wasn’t really paying any attention as I made low sounds of discomfort. Once she stopped, I don’t think she noticed what she had done. I guess that was fine for both of us, but it was such a close call. I took a breather as she headed outside with Rory following right after her. I dropped my bags so I could fix my pants as people around me looked around. A smile of embarrassment could be seen on my face, but I’d live. Maybe a Skype date today would remind me why I loved Sasha so much. Lust was an episode of the past, and honestly I knew that if I could make things work being here, that there would be nothing our relationship couldn’t conquer. IT WAS UNFUCKWITTABLE!

After getting myself situated, I grabbed my bags and walked out of the automatic doors. I tried to ignore the fact the temperature change was on another level, but I managed to let out a curse under my breath.

“Shit…” I squinted as I looked for the bus. “Why can’t we just get on the bus now?” I said before shaking my head and walking over to the driver who hadn’t let anyone on the bus yet. He was a scrawny older man who sat comfortably in his driver’s seat. “Hey how are you doing man?” I said before he peered down at me. “I was wondering… Everyone is getting here right now, and I was thinking we can get some stuff and people loaded up into the bus. The last thing you want to do is have sweaty bodies all over your seats.” I said as I bobbed my head towards Nicole and Rory standing out by the door. “Makes things faster too, boss.” I said with a smirk. He didn’t show much concern or even excitement about my proposal, but he nodded in agreement. “Thanks man!” I said as he got up out of his seat and stepped down the steps of the bus. He opened up the bottom of the bus and walked back up to his seat.

“No prob.” The man replied as I tossed my bags into the bus. My face turned to Rory and Nicole as I smirked. My face just read… ‘And the winner is Mike!’ before I stepped onto the bus and made my way to the very back. After taking a seat I sighed in relief as I enjoyed the air conditioned wonders of modern transportation. I took out my phone and started to go on Facebook to put up a status. Can’t believe I’m actually in Australia! Mike in the OUTBACK!

My mouth drop open slightly when Rory made the comment about me acting like a jealous girlfriend. I was about to give him a piece of my mind but I took a moment to think about it and couldn't help but agree. "Ha...if I was a jealous girlfriend she'll be dead by now..." I joked as I followed him out the door. I cursed underneath my breath as a wave of hot air hit me. I knew it was hot out but didn't expect it to be this intense especially so late in the afternoon. I watched Michael for a moment as he approached the bus driver but my attention quickly turned away from him and towards Rory as he spoke again. "Yeah it's going to be any interesting night with all these foreigners around...I hope you boys know how to drink." I smirked before hoping on the bus.

About 45 minutes later....

"Well, here we are..." I unlocked to door to my dorm room and pushed it open before stepping aside to let them enter. "This is where you will be staying for the next 12 months...well unless you get homesick and leave early." I spoke in a slightly more serious tone remembering what Mr McKenzie had mentioned in one of our first classes. "Living so far away from their family and friends can be tough and not all will stick to the program. So, don't force them to stay because you are worried that you will fail. It's not about how long they stay it's more about how you interact with someone who has other believes and values." I shook my head and followed them inside the dimly lit studio. "Don't expect anything fancy.." I uttered as I pulled the curtains open to shed more light on their new home. The bedroom, living room and kitchen was all combined into the one singular room. The only thing that was separated was the bathroom which contained one toilet, one sink and a small shower. The main room was large enough to hold three beds and three wardrobes but the only issue was the privacy. It wasn't much of a problem before because it was my friends that were crashing. I managed to buy some plain white room dividers in IKEA to separate the beds from each other and provide a little privacy.

"There is only one rule that I really have and that is no screamers...you can bring home whoever you like...no judgement...but please try and keep your activities down low." I know the girls here would eat these two right up and not to mention we all have needs so I can't really stop them from bringing girls home. I for one won't stop bringing guys home because they are here. I rather they do it at home than in some fucked up dirty alleyway. "You boys can decide who sleeps were between those two beds there...this one is mine." I pointed to the striped blue bed near the window. "Make yourself at home...there's drinks in the fridge and snacks in the cupboards." I slumped myself down on the couch and flicked on the tv to give them some time to unpack their things.

As Nicole presented the dorm room that we’d all be staying in, my face lit up with curiosity as I wondered what my home for the next several months would look like. It was a going to be a living space shared by three college students so I didn’t have the highest of hopes. I had never been in a dorm before, but it couldn’t have been that much of a downgrade from the apartment I shared with my friend and younger brother back in New York City. As I took a step inside, I looked around at my new home. It wasn’t half bad. The fact that it was kept clean probably helped with that. The fact that there weren’t separate rooms was odd, but I guess it would help us bond I guess. I looked at Nicole and then to Rory. I wouldn’t have expected the university to have two guys room with a single female. I wasn’t complaining or was some kind of would-be sexual offender, but it just seemed like a hazard in my opinion.

“You hear that Rory? Moaners are okay then.” I said with a chuckle at Nicole’s single rule, before looking around at the layout of the beds. Nicole’s bed was up towards the far wall of the room close to the window. The next bed was adjacent to her bed but against the left wall of the room. The last bed was on the closest wall across from the Nicole’s bed, and close to the front door. “Dibs!” I said as I pointed at the bed closest to the door. I just simply set my bags right to it. Maybe I picked this bed because it was the closest to the door or maybe it was because it was farthest from the pretty lady in the room. I took a seat on the bed for a moment and let my eyes look over the room once more. I noticed the bathroom door was also sharing the same wall as Nicole’s bed, but it was closer to the far right of the room. As my sights looked towards the right side of the room, I eyed the couch Nicole had gotten comfortable on. It face the right side of the room where the entertainment center was against the right wall of the room. The entertainment center was comprised of 42 inch flat screen television that was hooked up with average sized speakers. There was a blu ray player along with a wireless router. There was a bean bag chair beside the couch that looked mighty comfortable as well as a coffee table in front of the couch. The kitchen area was set up on the right side of the front door. There was a small counter, a stove, sink, and it seemed that Nicole had went out of her way to purchase a few utensils, bowls, and plates. In the corner was where the refrigerator stood humming low. I was honestly impressed by the amount of money put into the room. I was sure the exchange program was the reason for it, but I wouldn’t exclude efforts made by Nicole. She was definitely a great host so far, and I could see us being good friends later on.

The left side of the room was very open, not really having much but the beds, armoires, desks, and a cheap carpet to keep it from looking barren compared to the right side. The only thing I could say I wasn’t too fond of was the… dividers. I looked at it for a moment before sighing lowly.

“Hey, one of you can fight for my divider. I don’t really need it. Maybe you can take it Nicole. Doesn’t a girl need extra privacy?” I said with a smirk as I stood up and moved the divider towards her end of the room. What did I have to even hide? I wasn’t going to be bringing anyone back here to fuck, and I could always change in the bathroom if I really needed to take off my boxers. Other than that, I was fine with being half naked around my buddies, male or female. As I moved to my bed, I started to unpack a bit, but wasn’t expecting to get everything out of my bags. I focused mostly on clothes for now since I would be going out tonight. I was thinking about being simple, going out with a pair of black and gray swim trunks, a black singlet and the sneakers I had on currently. I’d fit the theme of the party, look good, but won’t be so noticeable… well maybe not. I might be too good looking for my own good haha.

I walk in behind the other two and take a look around the place I'd call home for the next twelve months. Not much privacy, but oh well. I didn't sleep naked, and there was a bathroom to change in if I felt the need to. All in all it looked like a nice place to stay. I would have enjoyed a room to myself, but I really couldn't complain. After all I was half way around the world in another country!

I smiled as she listed off her one and only rule, no screamers, and chuckled when mike mentioned that moaners were ok. As much as I'd love to get with a hot foreign chick with the amount of transparency in this household I think I would have to pass on bringing someone here for more than a movie, a dinner, or something of the sorts. But at least I knew what I could and couldn't do in this house now.

I made my way to the middle bed, seeing as how the other two were now taken that must mean this one was mine. I set my bag down and started putting my clothes away. As I put all of my clothes away I kept an eye out for what I would wear tonight. I saw a pair of white floral swim shorts that I put on my bed, and then a white t-shirt. Perfect, it was simple yet relevant. I kept these two items out on my bed and put the rest of my clothes away. It didn't take long before I had finished putting my clothes away.

Once I had finished with my clothing I walked over to fridge and grabbed a water then sat down in the bean bag chair and stated watching the television with Nicole. God I loved bean bag chairs, they were the best. As I sat in the bean bag chair and thought about how comfortable it was, I couldn't help but wish I had some weed right about now. Which made me wonder if they were 420 friendly. It may be racial profiling but I had a feeling Mike was ok with it. But Nikki I had no Idea, but it didn't matter right now. I didn't really have money to spend on frivolous things such as weed. I knew that I didn't need it, but god it made things so much more fun.

"Pregaming before the pregame?" I commented as I stood up from my bed after sending what i felt were like thousands of messages on Facebook to friends and family. I let myself get out a good stretch before digging into my half unpacked luggage and getting a pair of boxers, a white t-shirt and socks out... i looked at my choice of undergarment before shaking my head and realizing that I wasn't going to be dressing up like normal. I'd be wearing swim trunks and would be expected to go into a pool. With a sigh, I put the clothes I had taken out of my bag in a drawer that I would fully sort out later. I wasn't the best getting things finished which was apparent in my unpacking and sorting skills. 'As long as it gets done' is what I always felt. I grabbed the gray and black swim trunks i had in mind for tonight, along with the singlet and a pair of sock before digging further into my luggage. "You mind if I hit the shower first Rory? I'm... Shit you're good." I said as I looked over at him slumped in the bean bag chair. A smile etched on my face as I shook my head at my new roommate. "Gotcha." I said to myself as I pulled out a red towel and wash cloth.

I felt that I was in need of a good shower after the long flight, and I could always catch up on drinking unless Rory and Nicole insisted on chugging entire handles of vodka while I was in the shower.

"You guys can start or set up whatever drinking game you have in mind. I'm gonna shower and jump in when I'm out" I said before looking down at my singlet for a moment and tossing it across the room. I'd put that on last since I'd need to put some lotion and cologne on my skin. Before stepping into the bathroom, I kicked my sneakers off. I didn't need to bring everything in with me. After the shutting the door behind me, I placed my towel on an empty towel rack and my swim trunks and socks on the toilet lid. After stripping down, I gave my upper body a good look in the mirror and smirked. It was this time in the day where I got to see the results of my hours upon hours at the gym. There was a tattoo on my left breast of a lion roaring ferociously. It always inspired me to fearsome in all my endeavors. I cut the water on with a swift turn of the handle, I and stepped into the cluster of water droplets that sprayed from the shower head. At first the feeling made me cringe as it was still cool, but soon it warmed to my liking. My eyes shut as the water adjusted to where i found it pleasurable. "Aw fuck..." I said as i realized I forgot to bring my body wash into the bathroom.

I had two choices... well technically three. I could put my shower on pause, dry up, and then get dressed enough to go out and get my body wash. I could shower with this perfectly good bar of soap that was right next to a douche... Or I could just use water... I stared at the douche for a long while before trying to find it amusing, but it was simply awkward. At least I knew Nicole was a clean girl. I made my decision when I reached over and grabbed the soap bar in one hand, putting it into my hand that held the wash cloth. Then I proceeded to grab the douche and look it over with disbelief and amusement. I gave it a quick squeeze before nearly chuckling immaturely. Maybe I shouldn't have touched it, or maybe she should have put it away. It might make a good story later. I put the cleaning product back in its rightful place before getting started with washing myself. Rooming with a female was going to be great. I could feel it in my bone! And yes that was meant to be singular.

Rory: "Go for it, I call the shower after you." I said as he walked into the bathroom. He had the right idea, a long ride over in a plane full of people, I definitely wanted to shower. But first drinking games sounded fun! "Hey, can you ask your friends to pick up a bottle of Disaronno on there way here. I've got a bit of cash on me so I can pay for it when they get here." I said as I stood up out of the bean bag chair and made my way to the kitchen to see what she had to drink. First I checked the fridge for cold drinks. There I found some vodka, beer, and other assorted low alcohol beverages. I wanted to start off easy but that vodka had my name written all over it. Plus like they always say, liqueur before beer in the clear. It always seemed to work out for me in the past so it should work out now.

I grabbed a bottle of vodka out of the fridge, this looked good and was familiar to me. Of all the things that were on my mind never did I think that different countries may have different alcohol's to try, but for now I'd stay in my safe zone. Of course alcohol was alcohol. While I was here getting a drink I should be a gentleman and get her a drink while I was right here. "What do you want to drink Nicole?" I asked looking in her direction. Maybe she would want something a little less strong to start off the evening, or maybe she wanted to start heavy.

Nicole: I went to grab a pack of cards out from my bedside table in case Rory was keen to play for a game of asshole...or bullshit...or ride the bus...or higher or lower. I was pretty much up for anything that would get me fucked up as quickly as possible. But seeing there was only two of us to start with I decided to leave the beer bong and circle of death for later when more people arrived. "Um...just grab me the bottle of white wine in the fridge thanks," as soon as I said white wine I regret the choice knowing the excruciating headaches it gives me the next day but I already saw him grab the bottle so I left it be. I was going to be hangover anyway and I would rather half a throbbing headache than be cradling the toilet bowl all night. I took my seat on the couch, "anything in particular you wanna play?"

Rory: I grabbed the bottle of white wine and walked back over to the couch handing it to her then taking a seat up on the couch this time. "I don't care, You decide, I don't know that many drinking games anyways. I know king's cup, that's fun with more people." I said as I opened up my bottle of vodka to take a drink. Then I realized I was probably making myself a little too much at home. "Do you have shot glasses you want us to use, or..." I said questioning the method of which we would be drinking tonight. I felt like she wouldn't care but it'd be best to be certain about it.

Nicole:I thanked Rory when he brought over the wine and quickly poured myself a glass. I sighed softly to myself as I took a sip from the deliciously sweet liquid. Nice and cool, just the way I liked it. "Definitely play that later...hmmm...maybe we should start with a simple game off higher and lower...want me to deal first?" I grinned hoping he would say yes as I was keen to see how much these American boys could handle.

Rory: "Yeah, let the games begin" I said smiling as she began shuffling. We played a couple of rounds before Mike appeared out of the shower...

As I stepped out of the bathroom, I exhaled quickly at the change in temperature from the steamy bathroom to the cool living room. It didn't help when I was just wearing swim trunks and socks either. Upon seeing Nicole and Rory playing cards, I smiled glad that games had started.

"It's all yours when you want it Rory." I said as I grabbed my sneakers from outside of the bathroom door and walked across the room and to my bed. I set the sneakers down on the floor and started digging through my bags. It only took a few seconds for me to find my deodorant, body lotion, and cologne. I took the time to apply each to my body. After that, I slipped my black singlet on and sneakers. "Done..." I said with a smirk before making my way over to the living area. "What you playing?" I asked before eying the vodka and shot glasses on the table. Vodka had to be one of my favorites. It was like the standard, and you can't go wrong with the standard... unless it's cheap as fuck. "You don't have AIDS or anything, right?" I joked at Rory as I grabbed the shot glass and began filling it with vodka.

The irony of what Mike had just said made me laugh as I stood from the couch making my way to my bed. "I think I should be asking you that Mike" I said as I lifted my bag up off of the floor and onto my bed. I started rummaging through it for all of my toiletries. I grabbed my Old Spice After Hours body wash, NeXXus Sleektress Sumptuous Smoothing Shampoo, Sally Hershberger Supreme Head Conditioner for Wavy Hair, and last but not least some old spice after hours deodorant. I had thrown them all onto the bed, then zipped up my bag and tossed it back onto the floor. I grabbed my shorts, my shirt, and my toiletries then made my way to the bathroom. "Don't have too much fun without me" I said as I shut the door to the bathroom behind me.

My eyes lit up at the company Nicole had invited. Not only did they look rather lively, but they brought food too. Damn, Australians were amazing. They blow first impressions out of the water for sure. Thought I had been drinking with Nicole, I had only gotten a small buzz. If I had a few more drinks, I’d be on a nice level, and then all I’d have to do is maintain it. The food would definitely sober me up a bit, but I wasn’t going to turn it down.

“Nice to meet you guys!” I said with a welcoming smile. Bec appeared to be the liveliest, standing out from the rest while I had recognized Karen and Daniel from the airport. Karen’s exchange student seemed like a huge introvert, while Patrick, Daniel’s exchange student looked like he could blend in with the crowd. There were too many people to just talk to them all, so I’d just pick whoever sat closest to me to talk to. From experience, I had always been better at talking to females. It was probably because I found them more interesting. They were all complicated in one way or another, but had their unique complication. One man could never figure out every woman, because every woman was like a different jigsaw puzzle with hidden pieces. Even if you found these pieces, that was just one female you figured out. I mentally shook myself from my deep thinking. I swear I was too much of a psyche major for my own good. “And thanks for the food. I definitely owe you one.” I said with a genuine smile before feeling Bec scoot a bit close to me after Nicole’s swift exit. The lion tamer had accidentally left a lamb in the lion’s den. I turned to Bec as I grabbed a slice of pepperoni pizza.

“Michael?” Bec said making sure she didn’t mix my name up. She’s cute, and seemed like the type of person that was not only outgoing, but up front as well. There were no hints when it came to women like her. She was either doing something or she wasn’t.

“You can just call me Mike.” I said. I played it smooth. There wasn’t any pressure. All I had to do was be friendly. Making friends in a new place was key, even if they wanted to get in your pants.

“That’s fine with…” Bec was cut off by Patrick’s curiosity.

“So you’re both from the states?” He asked. I turned my attention toward the Frenchman.

“Yeah, I’m actually from New York City.” I replied. It brought a lot of eyebrows up in amazement and curiosity. Everyone knew about New York.

“Must be a real… difference in the temp.” Daniel said with his mouth stuffed with food. I barely understood him, but I caught onto the context of what he said.

“Hell yeah, it’s probably snowing out there right now.” I said before taking a bite of pizza.

“How is it out there? Are all the guys good looking like you?” Bec asked making Karen and I shake our heads and laugh. This group people would definitely be my closest of friends by the end of next week if they kept this up.

“You don’t have to answer that. Just ignore her, Mike.” Karen advised.

“It works!” Daniel piped in, this time is voice was clear… but not for long. The guy could eat.

“It’s not like anywhere I’ve ever been. It doesn’t compare to anywhere so far… And no guy compares to me.” I joked making Bec nod as if she was impressed. She was definitely a joker as well.

“What about you… Rory, right?” Bec said. She wasn’t the greatest with names, but she was extremely sociable. No one could hide under her radar. She noted his hair, which she felt like commenting on, but she didn’t want to make herself too jealous. Then again, she had no filter, and the alcohol she’d soon consume wouldn’t help with that either.

Once I finished showering I dried up and got dressed in my white and grey floral swim trunks and white t-shirt then stepped out into the room. Almost at the same time some people started to arrive, and they had food! This food would be so much better if I could smoke first. Oh well, I could make connections at the party tonight. I grabbed a slice of pizza and kept quiet while everyone while we were introduced. When my name was called I simply smiled and said "Hi", and allowed for everyone else to be introduced. I took a seat in the bean bag chair again and waited until I heard my name again.

"Yeah" I said confirming my name. "I'm from Idaho..." I said as I thought about it for a moment. I could tell everyone was fascinated when Mike had said he was from New York, which it was pretty cool. Unfortunately there was nothing notable about Idaho but our potatoes. "Home of the sexiest man alive!" I joked.

I had been having so fun with company of two that I had completely forgotten how quiet I get in large groups. Although that was true I was still excited for the party tonight, and excited to be meeting new people. "Now that we have some more people here, how about we play some King's Cup?" I suggested. This could be a good way for us all to get to know each other should we get some never have I ever going during the game.

“That’s what I’m talking about.” I chimed as I heard Rory’s idea. EveryI'e seemed to nod or say something in agreement while Karen snuck off into the bathwasn'tsn't th I wavailable tod her enter the bathroom befor. e m?y attention back to the group. “Let’s move the food off to the side a bit.” I suggested in order to make room on the table. I let Rory set up the cards in a circle before raising my index finger to inquire about something. “What are the rules? Everyone plays this fucking game different. I usually do: Ace is waterfall, Two is you, Three is me, Four is floor, Five is guys, Six is chicks, Seven is heaven, Eight is date, Nine is rhyme, Ten is never have I ever, Jack is categories, Queen is questions, and King is rule.” I piped in.

"I've played it like that too!" Bec replied as she slapped my thigh. I put on a smile as she looked at me. What was she playing? I knew when a female was interested, but she was coming on way too strong. If she was serious, I think I'd have to let her know what's up. I had to do it smoothly though. I was the type of guy that liked to keep friends. Mostly because there were times when you needed people. I was waiting on Rory to say something, but the entrance of Nicole and Karen caught my attention.

Dangerous! That girl is so dangerous! That girl is a bad girl yeah! I heard Akon sing as my eyes scanned over Nicole who was dressed for the party. Why was this program available to me at the start of freshman year? I'd be in heaven.

"Daaamn!" Bec let out. "I'm proud. You're almost on my level babe." Bec added before she stuck her tongue out in a teasing manner. I wish I could speak. I just kind of stared before nodding my head being impressed. "Okay so which rules does everyone want to play by?"

"Those are the rules I've played most, let's stick with those." I said as I shuffled up the cards and spread them out in a circle on the table. I noticed that her friends had brought a bottle of Disaronno with them. The only reason I was able to notice it was because of the lid partially sticking up out of the brown sack. My face lit up as I stood up to get the drink I would be playing with. I went over to my bag and after searching for a minute I pulled out something wrapped in a cloth. Once unwrapped it showed to be a silver fade lowball glass. It was my favorite glass back home, one of many, and I just couldn't leave it behind. And it was the perfect glass for Disaronno.

I set the glass down on the counter and and then reached into the freezer for a couple ice cubes for my drink. I then pulled the Disaronno out of the paper sack and stopped for a second to admire the beauty of the bottle, and the texture of the wooden lid. I opened it up and began pouring my glass until it was nearly full. Then I stopped and looked at the drink I had just poured myself. So perfect. I took a sip of it and indulged in the flavor. A fruity amaretto, that went down smoother than any liqueur I've ever had.

I sat back down in my seat and looking at the playing field. Women, men, alcohol, tonight would be fun. "So, being the host and all, I think you should start us off" I said looking over to Nicole. "Select your card and let the games begin!"

I just shook my head at Bec and took my seat on the floor in the circle that had formed around the coffee table. Good old King's Cup! I eyed the large pint glass in the centre of the table. As always my friends decided to already add various drinks to it before the game official began. I wasn't really that worried about ending up with the last King only because I've had the best luck when it came to this game. In my many years of playing with my mates I've only had to chug it once whereas everyone else has had at least three goes at it. "Sure thing.." I uttered in response to Rory's comment about picking the first card seeing as I was host. I filled up my glass with more wine before reaching out to grab one of the cards surrounding the glass. "Five...drink up boys." I smirked cheekily. Off to a very good start. My plan and probably everyone else's was to drink as little as possible because the more drunk you got the harder the game became and the more likely you end up with the King's Cup. I always struggled with the rhyming and categories but maybe tonight with all the foreigners I might stand a chance of surviving. Yes it would be mean to select a topic they know nothing about but at the end of the day it's a game. We can't all be winners.

"CHUG! CHUG! CHUG!" Everyone was shouting at the top of their lungs as Michael held his breath and literally downed the King's Cup without so much as blinking. "That's my foreign bitch..." I semi slurred feeling my head spin slightly as I got back onto my feet. My planned didn't work out as I had hoped barely ten minutes into the game and I had finished the wine and moved onto the stronger stuff, vodka. I think the reason why I was already feeling it was because I hadn't eaten since breakfast. Yes, I had order my friends to bring over dinner but I was too busy getting dressed and sorting things out to eat anything. I glanced down at the single cold piece of pizza left in the box. Fuck it, let's power through. I felt as though I was too far gone to eat now and if I did it would probably more likely make me spew than sober me up. The best time to eat was before or after the drinking. There always comes a time near the end of the night when everyone craves Maccas. As I finished of my glass of vodka and lemon ice tea I hoped my stomach and liver could make it til Maccas Run time. "We better get a move on or we will miss the party! LETS GO!" Karen shouted over the top of everyone before grabbing me by the arm and pulling me towards the door. "You ready to get fucked up?" I just nodded my head before letting her lead the way. I made sure Michael and Rory were being dragged along and were in seeing distance.

Although the walk from the school to the hotel should've taken us 20 minutes it took us almost an hour to get there. The main reason was because my mates, mainly the lads wanted to stop at every pub and bar along the way and get a drink. Their reasoning behind the stops was that they wanted to show the exchange students which pubs/bars were good and which ones were no goes. I didn't grab a drink at every stop because I was trying my best to pace myself as we still had a big night ahead of ourselves and I wanted to remember at least some of it. I sighed in relief as we reached the hotel and made our way through to the pool area. The music was pumping loud and before we even reached the party area some kind of cocktail was pressed into our hands by the wait staff. "Thanks..." I took a quick sip before looking back and making sure Michael and Rory were still with us. As I glanced over them I realised it was probably best to set some grounds rules so that no one gets lost. "Hey.." I grabbed them both by the arm and pulled them aside. "So we don't loose each other lets make a plan to meet back here at say midnight...and if you plan to go anywhere let me no or one of my other mates....oh here's my number..." I scribbled my digits onto the back of an old receipt I had in my purse and ripped it in two before giving it to them. "Your phones probs won't work but in case you can borrow someone else's and are lost call me!" I knew I was probably sounding like their mother but I couldn't help it. They were my responsibility now and if anything happens to them my head will be on the chopping bloke.

"Enjoy the night boys...and behave..." I smirked patting them on the back before following Karen into the chaos.

I’m not gonna lie. Half of my attention was on Nicole’s chest and the other half was on a female who looked like she was wearing dental floss for a bikini behind her. That Kings Cup drink I chugged had hit me a couple of blocks back and now three of the drinks I ordered along the way to the party were hitting me like Manny Pacqiao hit Ricky Hatton. I was beyond just a comfortable buzz, meaning I’d have to take it easy for a bit. It didn’t help that I hadn’t really partied like this on the regular. The one thing I did have on my side was knowing when to take a break and just ride the buzz I was on. It was fun to drink with friends, it was fun to get a buzz, hell it was fun to get drunk as fuck, but it wasn’t fun blacking out and becoming the biggest shit show anyone’s ever seen.

When Nicole stopped talking, I started moving towards the farthest wall from the pool where a lot people had set their sneakers. I had caught her words having to do with meeting back up and managed to stuff her number in my pocket, but it was the least of my worries. I quickly removed my sneakers and socks wishing I would have came with a pair of sandals or flip flops. I stuffed my socks into my sneakers before removing my singlet and balling it up and stuffing half of it into one of my sneakers. I was lucky to have my lifeproof phone case with me, so I could just zip that into the cargo pocket of my shorts along with my ID and debit card. My ID would be the only thing I’d need with me from my wallet, and my wallet wasn’t waterproof, so why bring it?

I started to bop my head as The Motto by Drake started to play. Sure it was a bit old, but I’d still the dance floor to that shit. I walked down the side of the pool bopping my head and stepping to the beat of the song. I smirked as I did so, enjoying the music and my current surroundings. I couldn’t believe I was in Australia partying hard as hell. Towards the end of Lil Wayne’s verse in the song, I could just feel everyone getting ready to sing his final line that was famous on its own.

“Oh. My. God. Becky. Look at. Her. Butt! TUNECHI!” I shouted before feeling a sleek wet body bump be from the side and into the pool. “Oh!” I shouted as my body hit the water along with someone who had tackled me in. So much for Nicole’s phone number! It didn’t seem like I was in danger or anything, but if I was, I was pretty much unable to help myself. I was drunk and in the water. Not a great combination. And the body was still in contact with mine wasn’t one that I’d pull away from so soon. Petite body, smooth skin, curves, long hair… My eyes blinked rapidly as I resurfaced to face my assailant. Who was she? It would only take seconds for me to make out who she was. “What the hell!” I laughed.

My eyes blinked rapidly in order to gain the ability to see clearly again. God damn I hated this chlorine. I wanted to see who this female was in front of me, but her voice seemed to identify her first.

“Looks like the American can’t take a hit!” Morgan teased as she shoved me from my chest and laughed. I chuckled as I stumbled back into someone else. It wasn’t until then, that I could clearly see Morgan in her baby blue two piece bikini. No single man in his right mind would turn this down, which made me think of Rory. If I could find him, I’d definitely hook him up with this if he wasn’t putting in any work on anyone else.

“Guess not.” I said with a shrug and a smile. I made my way over to her before pushing her stomach. She would have lost her balance, but she grabbed my arm for stability.

“Cunt!” She yelled before pushing at me again playfully.

“I try… So what’s up Morgan? Enjoying the party?” I spoke with a playful smirk still on my face.

“It’s… okay.” Morgan commented as if this party was the equivalent to some dorm room party. I guessed she must have been to better… But better than this? What was a ‘good’ party?

“Just okay? Come on, I’m here. This party just officially became the shit.”

“No… Just shit.” She insulted as she narrowed her eyes and grinned. She started laughing as she found it impossible to hold such a silly expression which in turn made me chuckle along with her. “I know how it could be better though…” Morgan’s words sent a chill down my spine as I thought of at least a dozen ways to finish that sentence horribly. Okay, maybe just two… “Be my partner for beer pong! Winners get the money put in to play… and we get to talk shit about being the best.”

“I like talking shit…” I said with a nod. “I like it a lot.” Before laughing at how stupid I sounded. “Where’s it at?” I said before Morgan took my hand led me to the edge of the pool to get out. She let my hand go before turning to me with a smug look.

“Follow the boss.” Morgan said as she climbed out of the pool. I followed her out. Before feeling my arm get grabbed… This was someone else though.

“Mike!” Bec let out while holding a drink in her free hand. “What are you doing? Come take shots with us!” Bec invited as she pointed in the direction of the bar.

“Sorry, but I’m using him right now.” Morgan said as she grabbed my fee hand. Now this looked bad… Bec and Morgan stared each other down before Morgan raised my hand up. “We’ll see you at the beer pong tables! We’ll be the ones that are winning.” Morgan’s words pretty much killed any drive Bec had, which loosened her grip on my arm. She wasn’t too fond of Morgan at times, but she wouldn’t ruin my fun in order to ruin Morgan’s as well. She’d find a way to get around that… but she could be patient.

“Oh wait! I don’t have cash.” I said as I stopped in my tracks.

“I have it covered.” Morgan said quickly before dragging me through the party some more. It wasn’t until we got around to the beer pong tables set up in the hotel’s conference room that Morgan spoke again. “Oi! Put our names on the list. Mike and Morgan.”

“Morgan and Mike. Team M&M is the building!” I shouted before making several of the guys organizing the sign up and money pot shake their heads.

“Listen mates… the white and milk chocolate are about to take the show.”

“We’ll fuckin see about that. The tournament start in ten, so don’t go off fucking in one of the bathrooms.”

“It’s alright… It only takes me three.” I said with a laugh before we left the room and took seats in the hotel lobby. Morgan giggled, not believing the things that were coming out of my mouth. “So Morgan, since we have the time, you wanna just talk about…” I looked around at my surroundings before looking back at her. “…stuff?”

“Are you telling me that you let some fucking bikie gang steal the shipment?! Do you have a clue… No no no…. DO THEY HAVE ANY CLUE of what they fucking have. We’re fucked… That was hazardous WASTE. Shit we have to get rid of because we can’t use it! You’re dealing with this Reese! I want to wake up tomorrow, and I want to hear some good fucking news. BYE!” Richard Brewer said as he hit the end button on his cell phone and threw it across the room. Luckily he had a decent case for it, or he’d have more problems to deal with. “Fuuuuck!” A shipment hijacked. A shipment he was responsible for getting transported for the better.

“No fucking way! Astrophysics? That’s your major? Nah.” I said in disbelief as I looked at Morgan who seemed more like a cosmetology or an exercise science major. Then again, maybe I was just being extremely stereotypical towards females, especially after I easily accepted Morgan’s position as cheerleader for the football team.

“No one ever believes it, but I’ve always wanted to go out into space.” Morgan said as her eyes looked up towards the ceiling for a second before looking back at me. If she was a senior like me, then I guess I couldn’t really blame her for be partially snobby. She seemed popular from how many times this conversation was interrupted by someone passing by us, smart enough to survive astrophysics in college, and she was gorgeous as well. I had been talking to her for the past five minutes and we already shared a bit about each other. We even officially traded numbers. “You ready kick some ass?” Morgan said before getting up from her seat and looking down at me. I looked up at her with a smirk. Between her and Nicole, I’d have all the connections in Gold Coast.

“Hell yeah!” I said with excitement as I got up and walked side by side with Morgan towards large room where the beer pong tournament would be held. As I entered the room, I noticed a few faces that I had come out to the party with. I was curious of who spectators were, and who players were.

“Alright mates! Let’s get this shit going. If you take too long to get to the table when we call your name, it’s an automatic loss. First game, Brett and Kyle versus Morgan and Mike!”

“Perfect.” I said under my breath as I heard the My Nigga Remix start to play.

“Make way!” Morgan yelled as we moved through the crowd surrounding the table. “M&M coming through! Move!” She barked. It made me laugh as I passed by the people that actually moved at her command. I spotted Rory with Tim on the sidelines and pointed to him for recognition. If he noticed me, I would have used my other hand to point at Morgan and look from her to him suggestively. If he wanted the catch, I’d easily set him up as the bait. I snickered to myself when I stopped and continued to follow Morgan until we reached the table.

“Nice!” I was actually surprised to see an actual beer pong table. Across from the table, there were two guys in just swim trunks that looked pretty fit. I assumed they were on a sports team for the school or were just really crazy about working out. The man running the show stood at the median of the table and looked at both teams and nodded silently.

“Simple rules. It’s just simple ten cup, bounces make two cups… If you and your teammate make the same cup, that’s three cups and balls back. Everything else is pretty much implied right?”

“Yeah yeah, let’s just get this shit started.” Brett said impatiently, but with a smile on his face. He got ready to aim the ping pong ball handed to him as I was handed my own. I pointed at my eyes and then to his to show him that I was just going to look him in the eyes. Brett winked mockingly before counting down. “Three… two… one…” After the short pause we both shot… and we both missed.

“Fuck…” I said, but then grabbed the ball that had made it to my side and handed it to Morgan. “You got this.”

“I already know.” She said confidently. “Kyle… look at my eyes, not my chest.” Morgan teased while Kyle just chuckled. “Three… two… one…” The two made their shots with Morgan making her ball into the center cup. “Cheers!” Morgan yelled as she gave me a high five. “Shouldn’t have been staring so hard! Can’t blame you though.” Morgan laughed as she held her hand out to get the other ball. Brett had grabbed it and tossed it over for her to catch it.

“Fuck off Morgan!” Kyle said, but not seriously.

“Don’t be pissy because you can’t get it in!” Morgan joked, making a few people chuckle.

“Damn, don’t let her talk shit about you like that.” Brett said as he looked at his partner

“That’s seriously all she does. All Morgan does is use her mouth. I’m surprised it still works mate.” Kyle joked back before hearing the infamous words that called for a good shot.

“Kobe!” I shouted as I hit the front cup.

“What now?” Morgan taunted before making her ball into another cup. “Oh I think that’s balls back…”

“Is that bad?” I taunted as I pointed at them moving their cups to the side. “Is it?” I said before catching on of the balls that were tossed over. I let Morgan chase the other that had bounced on the floor. Brett and Kyle didn’t like the rough start they were having, and it could be seen as they drank the beer from their cups. After Morgan washed her ball off in the water cup, we got ready to continue the game.

“And the winner is… Oh it’s us?” Morgan taunted for the last time at the table. It was sort of like a strategy we both could use. A team of bragging and shit talking. We both stepped away from the table doing a mock celebration by pumping our fists in the air. We were definitely not going to be the people’s favorite.

“Alright, Morgan and Mike move on to the next round! Next up is…”
