"I'm on a rollercoaster that only goes up, my friend."

Introducing

ImageImage What is your name?:
Gavin Samuel Northwood-Hall

What do people call you, though?:
Gavin or Sam

How old are you?:
"They wanted someone around the same ages as the members?"
Eighteen [18]

When were you born?:
"I was the baby whose birth makes the magazines."
Hollywood, California

Are you a male or female?:
"Oh, ouch."
Male

Reasons

Image
Image
Why do you want to go on the trip?:
"Well, I mean, I'm not so much taking the trip as working on it. I'm the host, after all. But, I'm on this trip, taking this gig, partially to try and get out of Hollywood for a while. You get kind of tired of being seen as the 'kid of so-and-so', you know? I guess I'd just like to travel on my own for a bit- and get paid to do it."

What are your opinions on travelling?:
"Well, I've traveled quite a good amount since I was very young, with my parents, so I'm fairly used to it. It's fun, of course, depending on the locations, though my experience has often included rushes of random fans and paparazzi of my parents, so that can kind of kill the 'family trip' thing. I enjoy it, I suppose."

Do you have any illnesses that could affect you while travelling?:
"Not that come to mind immediately, no."

What is the 'best' place you have traveled to so far?:
"When I was younger, my mom had a shoot for a movie on a little island in Greece. During her breaks, we played in the water and built sand castles together. It continues to be one of my favorite memories, and I visit there once every other year or so, frequently enough that my parents bought a villa there."

Little Things

Image
Image
What do you like?:
"What do I like? Let's see. I'm a pretty big fan of music, specifically the guitar and the double base. I really like jazz music, and ginger ale is my favorite drink. Perhaps strangely, Shepherd's Pie is my favorite meal. I rather like attention, arrogant as that sounds. Movies and acting are among other things I like, and I've been known to enjoy a good tv marathon now and again. I really like kids- we tend to get along rather well, as it happens. Family's important to me, despite the fact that mine has often been a bit on the different side."

What do you dislike?:
"I'm in the spotlight- not allowed strong dislikes, right? No, I dislike really sweet things, as well as black olives and pinecones. Fall isn't my season, regardless of what country I'm in. Being ignored is hardly my cup of tea, either- and neither is tea, actually. I really hate those movies that are meant to look like home videos, and zombie flicks aren't my favorite either. Telling me I'm riding my parents' coattails is a surefire way to get on my bad side, as is taking pictures of me or drawing me without permission. It's just creepy- like paparazzi."

Do you have any hobbies?:
"Of course! I like to play the guitar and double base, travel, cook, and occasionally I might be partial towards acting, as well."

Do you have any phobias or fears?:
"Bats, definitely, and maybe also being isolated. Who doesn't?"

About You

Image What are you like as a person?:
"I could give you whatever the most recent magazine-printed profile of me is, but those are hardly reliable. I've been called charismatic, or charming, before, and I'm not really humble enough to deny this. Being raised in a family of stars means that one has to shine as bright as they can simply to be seen. From my mother I learned manners, from my father I learned how to get people on my side. As the child of the reigning King and Queen of Hollywood, it makes sense that I'd grow up knowing how to deal well with people, and if they don't like me for my looks or status, people tend to at least like my charismatic nature, or my manners, which are better than some people might expect of me.

I once saw an article labeling my "arrogance" as a desperate cry for attention. I don't know about that, but it can't be denied that I am rather confident. Alright, I'll admit it, I can be pretty cocky. Even when I'm not feeling particularly confident, I can do a damn good job of faking it- it's a necessary skill in my family, really. Speaking of family, I should probably mention that I don't really like to be referred to as my parents' son too much. Okay, so maybe I'm a bit defensive about it. After all, everything I've accomplished has been attributed to their status, rather than my own skill. It can get pretty aggravating, and the easiest way to push my buttons is to talk about this.

Charismatic, arrogant, and a bit defensive? What more could one want in a TV host? Probably flirtatiousness, which I have in good measure, or a love for fun, which I also happen to have. Little pranks and jokes are all in good fun, as far as I'm concerned, though I've perhaps overstepped boundaries once or twice before. And, okay, I'll admit it- I'm a bit too keen on gossip. Not on spreading it myself, usually, but I may or may not have the tendency to make the acquaintance of the sort of people who know everything, and tell all of it. People are interesting, and gossip is a surefire way to skip to the interesting bit. When it's true, anyway, and even though it rarely is, who doesn't like a good story?"

Cassius Segovia

"Cassius, get out of the car"

Giving an exasperated sigh, Cass stayed put. The day had came too fast and too soon, and now suddenly he was going on a year-long trip with a bunch of people he hated. It wouldn't have been described as one the finer moments in his life right now, as a scowl plastered his face and he laid back in to the smooth leather of his seat, crossing both arms over one another. In his mind he was an activist- protesting for his dignity. He didn't see how getting on a reality TV show would further his career. If anything, it would hinder it.

"Cassius, please, not again." His father Erik sighed, almost a mirror image to Cassius. The two were quite alike, but neither of them would admit it. "We talked about this, Cass. Come on, they are about to arrive."

Opening the door of the car, Cassius pulled at his jacket in a desperate attempt to feel like this wasn't happening. They were stood outside the Four Seasons Hotel in Midtown. Paparazzi lingered behind bins, cameras at the ready. That's actually as far as they were legally permitted to get, though. Paparazzi were not aloud in a considerable distance from the competitors. Something about 'Retaining the real life travel experience.' The whole crew was here though, so I don't know how that would work.

Suddenly, very suddenly, dozens of black cars pulled up at the sidewalk. Police bordered the cars, but they were all able to get a space somewhere. All of the competitors burst out of their cars, and were immediately instructed by their driver to make their way over to Erik and Cassius. His father smiled cheerfully as per usual, but Cassius kept his face at a slight smirk, letting one corner of his mouth twitch up.

"Hello, travellers! My name is Erik Segovia- and this is my son, Cassius Segovia. He will be joining you on this trip." He pointed to Cassius. "This hotel will be your home for the next two days. I trust you know your roommates? Everyone will make their way to the hotel rooms and you will have some- how do you say it- 'chill-out' time. Get to know your roomates, and figure out where you are all sleeping. Tommorow is a big day, and we will all meet on floor 51's meeting room."

His father took a deep breath, before continuing "Now go, my children. Please make your way up to floor 52."

Cassius followed the competitors as they made their way in to the hotel, his smirk now a scowl once more.

Gavin really ought to have been the first person, give or take a few, to arrive, given that he is actually an employee of the people running the show. Then, there are quite a lot of things that Gavin perhaps ought to do, but fails completely with. One example would be leaving alone those who wish to be, well, left alone. There is a reason that the host, over the past few weeks of preparation, has basically bullied Cassius, the director's son, into a friendship with him. For one thing, he is annoyingly persistent and seems to know very little shame. For another, he finds such sourness as that which Cassius had initially exhibited to be somewhat funny. Not that he'd tell Cassius that, when they'd only just become friends.

Annoying though they may be towards others, his persistence and tendency to shove the introverted and bitter into interactions is part of why he was picked for this show. After all, where would the fun and drama be if everyone just kept to themselves all day? Gavin is partially responsible for keeping ratings up, so that this show might continue on in the future. In fact, the producer gave him the go-ahead to start rumors and the like, though he doesn't plan to do so. Gavin likes gossip quite a bit, because it keeps him in the loop and keeps things interesting, but he doesn't spread it- and he prefers gossip with truth in it, anyway. Which is most gossip, as far as he's concerned.

Gavin walks in, beaming, a bit after the speech ends and people have begun to either chatter amongst themselves and enter the hotel. He is met with a few decisions: push forward to Cassius at the front of the group, or engage some of the people who are keeping very much to themselves at the back of the group. This label seems to match quite a few people. With a happy compromise, he rushes forward, "accidentally" bumping Lykos [he's memorized all the names, of course] into Hazel and Dennis, who are reasonably near to each other. "Sorry about that. Excuse me," he apologizes with little sincerity, smiling cheerily at them before swimming through the rest of the people and reaching the spot just next to Cassius. The boy is, of course, walking alone. Something which is far from surprising.

"Oddly warm, eh?" Gavin comments with a smile. This is something which he had observed earlier, in fact. 50 seemed rather warm for January in New York, anyway, but then he is not really a native of the city, regardless of how many times he has visited it, and can't say this with any real certainty. So he does anyway, naturally. The scowl on Cassius's face his characteristic, of course, but rather than frightening Gavin only makes the young man grin a little bit. "I can tell by your expression that you are on the merry road to making friends. Who're your roommates?"

Knowing Cassius, the young man probably very much dislikes the fact that he is being made to have roommates at all. Gavin is quite fortunate in having his own room, yet would quite gladly have roommates as well. He likes to have people about, whenever possible. It's the sort of thing one can likely surmise simply by watching him walk or talk: he practically screams extrovert. Perhaps a bit of arrogance as well, but even Gavin could not deny that he can be a bit cocky at times. Necessary for a host, he assures anyone who asks.

Lykos Morrow
Image

Lykos is practically a grade A wallflower, considering how long he's been able to go so far without no one paying any attention to him. He supposes it was all those gym classes that he skipped, instead hiding in the far corner of the bleachers and busying himself with things that were actually important, like reading or homework or the newest Game Informer. Sure, the only console he has was a old PS2- which he loved, don't get me wrong -, but he still loved to keep up with the newest games and such. The most exciting thing that had happened to him this year- other than this trip, he supposed -was the Xbox One being released. He knew a friend that was planning on getting one, and you could guarantee that as soon as Wolf got back from this vacation he was going straight to his friends house.

Already lost in thought, Lykos was barely able to keep himself from falling when someone pushed past him. What he wasn't able to stop though, was him falling into the brown haired boy in front of him, who he grabbed onto for support. And in an attempt to get off of him as soon as possible, he bumped shoulders with the girl next to him. When he finally straightened up, his cheeks were bright red and he had already begun to sink into himself, the barely five foot two boy trying to get impossibly smaller as if that would make him disappear from their sight. "I am so sorry Hazel, and, er, oh damn I've forgotten your name..." He ran his hands through his hair, making it messier than it was already. The girls name had been easy to remember, Hazel, like the color. It was unique as he'd heard, something he appreciated considering his own name, but unlike his, he thought her's was very pretty.

He had taken time to remember most of the peoples names, mostly associating them with one of their features, or something he knew, to remember them. If his brain wasn't moving at a thousand thoughts a second right then, he probably would have been able to recall the boys name, but unfortunately, no such luck for poor Wolfie. "I really am so sorry... Just, this guy bumped into me and I was sort of lost in thought, so I went flying..." His accent made him have to carefully pronounce some words, or most people couldn't understand him. He also had to slow down when he spoke, since it was habit to talk fast. Though he'd reverted into both of these habits right then, since he was both uncomfortable and nervous.

Immediately upon entering the city, Jules knew that she was in some sort of love with it. She'd been to large enough cities before, sometimes for state competitions, but hardly anything that can compare to New York City. And the weather was significantly warmer than the negative two she'd just left behind in Central Idaho. This is the sort of place she wants, the girl is quite certain- large, with lots of people and therefore far more diversity than Nowheresville, Idaho could ever even begin to hope to offer. The trip to the hotel is rather quick, which she finds regrettable because looking around proves to be an enjoyment in its own right. As she does pull up to the Four Seasons, it occurs to her that this 'big-eyed rural girl' thing will have her looking rather dumb indeed. It is easily hidden, luckily, the initial awe of the city fading away to her characteristic grin, a goofy thing which seems to promise a lame joke or a stupid face.

Seeing that most of everyone else has already passed through the doors into the hotel, Jules makes quick work of gathering her things- consisting of two normal backpacks and one drawstring pack. Perhaps she packed a bit lightly for a full year of traveling, but Jules isn't exactly the sort who owns lots of clothing to begin with, and so it can be certain that she has actually packed a good portion of her wardrobe. This is perfectly adequate for the girl- she found very quickly, while going through security and the like for the plane trip here, that traveling light suits her quite nicely.

Jules does her best to assign names to faces once she has entered the hotel and sees the people making their slow way to the elevators, or perhaps the stairs, or wherever else. Any concentration on this task she might have had is broken when a boy pushes past her, and then past another group of people [all but shoving one of the other people into two others] before he reaches the front. Only seeing the back of his head, Jules can't really say that she has a solid guess on who he is, but she had caught a flash of the face of the director's son, whatever his name is, and can therefore guess that the pushing boy had been the host of the show, and only person who seems willing to speak to the son for more than a few sentences at a time.

Well, this is fun, Jules thinks to herself, raising an eyebrow. In a split decision, hardly a difficult one to make, she branches off from the group and heads to the stairs. 52nd floor, was it? she thinks, grinning before making her way up the stairs. If she gets very tired, the girl might stop and take the elevator from a higher floor. More likely, however, she'll be stubborn, and be the last one to her room because she has decided that climbing 52 flights of stairs sounds more interesting than taking the elevator with a crowd of awkward-seeming strangers.
