Xavier Kazoku

[ Nicknames/Aliases ]
Jōkā: Not a name that is usually said to his face or normally people that know him personally but it is widely popular to a lot of the regular students, professors and even to one or two of the night class members, who have come in contact or have heard of him at the very least but despite this he never has a problem with being called it.

Xavier-san/sama/senpai/chan: Despite himself, he has always hated the Japanese honourifics and found them pointless. Real respect/intimacy comes from how you speak and act towards another not by some word you add to their name and many of his friends have learned to simply call him something by itself.

Scarface: Having started off as an insult due to his unusual facial features, Xavier very well adopted this as favoured nickname having learned long ago to survive in life you needed to be able to make fun of yourself, he allows many to call him such but still draws the line with it at times.

Eigo: Another name which is not often used to his face. Since Xavier is English and not Japan but moved over there a while ago he's always been a bit of an outsider having preferred the former's culture rather than the latter. Due to this he has often been looked down upon by some of the more traditional Japanese and hence the nickname Eigo was created as a derogatory term for him.

Anything: Having been called different nicknames for his entire life with varying feelings to towards them all, besides from a few exceptions the prefect really does not mind what he is called as long as it's intentions are not malicious.

Image[ General Description ]
One thing can be said about the prefect is that he's a bit of a specimen. Standing a head over the shoulders of most in his class and with his broad shoulders, he is a rather powerfully built individual although he has had to work hard to maintain his physique despite his high metabolism. Although not particularly slim he is far from bulky giving him a very athletic look one in which he is proud off but never would say it aloud. Although his body is far from flawless there is one thing that stands out more than anything else and that is his pronounced collarbones, which stick out as triangles on his shoulders.

Despite his love of dosing off in the sun, he possesses ghostly white skin, very much like a vampire but unlike one of the undead, his skin isn't in very good condition, being scarred up to a point of looking like a patchwork doll due to his curiousness as a child with nature. Luckily to counteract this rather unsightly flaw with him are a set of strong features and a smile that can infatuated all but the most aloof of people; with all of this in mind he has a rather rugged face which gives off the appearance that he's older than what he is.

Never being one for looks or putting much effort into them either, Xavier has a rather casual outlook with his clothes. When ever he can he will wear his uniform as unorthodox as he can push it without having to be reminded to tidy up, something which he often fails at, when outside the school or simply not caring about the regulations he is often seen in flannel shirts over a basic t-shirt, jeans and converse/vans or even a mixture of his uniform and casual clothes.

ImageImage[ Likes ]
Food || No matter what it is, Xavier will eat it faster than it can be served and since he has the appetite of a blue whale; will ask for thirds and fourths, although he does have a fondness of pepperoni pizza with extra olives, mushrooms and anchovies.
Cooking || It goes hand in hand with his love of food and he enjoys cooking for others.
Alcohol || It may not exactly be permitted (or legal) but he has a fondness for spirits.
Relaxing || He isn't one for constantly worrying over things and likes nothing more than to kick his feet up and just take it easy.
Cats and dogs || Although he likes animals in general he is particularly big dog and cat lover, seeing the two beasts like humans and vampires.
Being with his "family"|| Whether just hanging about aimlessly, helping each other out, simply teasing each other or even arguing with them; Xavier is rarely happier somewhere else.
Napping in the sun || It doesn't matter if he has something better to do, most things will be put on hold if he can grab a quick nap while the sun is beaming down.

[ Dislikes ]
x Rules || Having never been one for following rules to the letter, he sees particularly strict or orthodox rules as unnecessary and oppressive.
x Certain things about Japanese culture || Not everything bugs him but there are a few things that just rub him up the wrong way.
x Uptight people || Being the "anti-uptight" Xavier really believes that these people need to take the stick up their certain-area-that-will-not-be-named and lighten up
x Getting in trouble || He may like to bend the rules as much as they can be but he isn't a rebel.
x His "family" being in trouble || What ever their problems, they're his as well.

[ Strengths ]
Compassionate || No matter who, when or where, the prefect will always help out anyone who needs it, even if he has to be subtle whilst he does so.
Optimistic pessimist || A term he often coins about himself, he never fails to see the brighter side of a situation no matter what but even so he expects the best but prepares for the worst.
Physical prowess || Despite his love for the more relaxing things in life he keeps up his physical health to it's peak as much as his lifestyle will allow it.
Relaxed || Spending his whole life carefree as left him level headed about things, although not immune to be aggravated he's found out that in times of need he is much more calmer than some.
Loyal || When he thinks of someone as family he is loyal to them to a fault, although this doesn't change much on how he is, the person in question should expect some perks from this.
Image
Image
[ Weaknesses ]
Unmotivated || His relaxed nature is a double sword and because of it, Xavier rarely is motivated to do much besides a a handful of things; a reason why he is falling behind in his school work.
Unorthodox || Whilst his ability to think outside the box when it comes to his duty as a prefect has solved problems even before they have become such; it often involves bending or down right breaking the rules which has caused him to be berated by others.
Wrath || Whilst hard to anger, once so it goes out with a bang, in this state he isn't one to be around if you're the perpetrator.

[ Abilities/Skills ]

Skills
Cooking || As mentioned before, Xavier is a rather adept cook, being able to cook rather advanced meals but if anyone who has ate his meals could tell you is that he makes enough to feed a starving nation.
Jack-of-All trades || Not having the motivation to master any form of combat, he has developed a rather varied and vast collection if fighting techniques and is at least averagely proficient in both firearms and mêlée weapons.
First Aid || While not to the skill of a paramedic, he can at least treat minor injuries and more severe ones to some degree.

Abilites
Unorthodox thinking|| Much to many people's grief, Xavier is rather talented with thinking outside of the box being able to produce results with unusual methods.
Strength || Whilst not to the levels of a noble or a pure blood, the prefects strength is greater to a lot of his fellow students giving him an edge if he had to get up close and personal to restrain them.

[ Personality ]
There's no hiding it, Xavier is the antithesis of the orthodox or uptight. Where ever he goes there is always some kind of smile on his face, whether it be plain friendliness or mischievous, is up to debate depending on the current companionship. Because of his views that family isn't about who you're born too but instead who you develop bonds to he is always willing to give a hand to anyone who needs it, from helping with a task to just cheering up he will do it, sometimes in his not so subtle ways and sometimes without that person even knowing. Though he shows kindness and shares a good laugh with everyone he can do, it' styles he considers as his "family" that he shares a more intimate bond with and whilst most would hate confrontation with those they care about even then, he still enjoys himself to some degree not out of maliciousness but due to his optimistic pessimist belief.

Contrary to some people's beliefs, he doesn't think of himself as a rule breaker, far from it, he excepts that there is need for rules for a society to survive, the more delicate it is the more rules are needed. What is true though that he believes that rules are meant to be pushed and bent if it means achieving one's goals if it was beneficial to others, a few which has often made him unpopular to traditionalists and has caused him to get into just as much trouble as the ones who blatantly break the rules. These feelings are due to the boy taking a more relaxed approach to life, always trying to get as much done with as little effort put in, something he tries to share with others with mixed success.

Let's take a trip down memory lane.

Image[ History ]
There isn't much to say about his earlier life, Xavier Kazuko was born into this world with only his mother to look after him, after his father had abandoned them before his mother was even aware of herself even being pregnant. Up until his thirteenth birthday went like any other child with a single parent, times were tough but there was always food on the table and presents when certain times of the year came, the only thing he could ever remember being even remotely interesting was the amount of times he went to A&E due to him constantly cutting his face as he explored the wooded area close to were he lived. Sometime after his birthday though his mother met a man who had moved to England from Japan for work, well not long after that the two started courting and after a year and several months the two had gotten married not that Xavier payed much attention at the time. By his sixteenth birthday him and his mother was moving to Japan with his new father, he started attending school but had to take special classes to learn the language which had been thrust into his life. His mother grew pregnant again with twin girls when he was seventeen and nine months down the line they were born; after this his stepfather and himself started to grow closer together as they both helped their mother with the babies and it was due to this that his beliefs about family started to grow.

His apparently normal life style took a change for the worse not in a single day like some bad storybook or movie but through several weeks. The boy enjoyed taking his little sisters out on walks around the city which he called home and normally all three would enjoy themselves, with the twins both squealing as very young children do often causing Xavier to laugh. This started to change when he noticed a feeling of being watched every time he stepped outside with his sisters but only for a few moments, this carried on for several weeks, slowly getting worse and worse till one day his usually cheerful sisters had cried in terror as had almost himself at the stifling sensation of what ever it had been. On this day he decided to cut the walk short and head back home but when he had turned he stood face to face with a monstrosity, the feeling sensation wasn't just a case of paranoia as he had thought but was the systematic planning of a E grade vampire that still held some sort of intelligence; with his sisters life and his own in danger Xavier found it in himself to fight the thing but needless to say he was soon overpowered in the blink of an eye. Luckily all three were saved before any serious damage could have been inflicted a Hunter which had been stalking the mad vampire as it had been to the family, struck whilst the fiend was occupied. After that the hunter had seen something in the boy and had made a personal request to the headmaster of True Cross Academy to become a student and a prefect as a type of test to see if he was hunter material.

"Oh Xavier-chan, you're so funny!" With a smug grin on his face, the person called Xavier squeezed, the two girls who stood either side of him, closer so that they were pressed against him. Yeah and like so totally, amazing, The other chipped in, her features rather vague and bland to the male for some reason, Can I get you another refill? Before he had the chance to reply the girl on his right had produced a bottle of his favourite brand of spirits from some unknown location but before she could pour some of the amber coloured liquid into a glass which was conveniently placed just in front of him, the girl on his left made a grab for the bottle. Hey no fair! I want to pour Xavier-chan a drink!" His forehead twitched on hearing the honorific a second time but he couldn't focus on that, the matter at hand was that the two generously proportioned girls in front of him were beginning to spill his drink all over the place.

"Girls, girls! Look there's plenty of chances to pour me a drink but right now I could use a shoulder and foot massage right now. He looked at the two more closer now and saw the desired effects, both girls had stopped and looked starry eyed and with one blink of the eye, he had his drink in his hands with one girl at his feet and the other working the knots out of his shoulders. "I could get use to this." He sighed contently, a huge grin spreading across his lips but soon disappeared when he heard the girl behind him mumble something. "What was that, sweetheart?" He queried. "I said get up!" A booming male voice came from the delicate yet strikingly curvy figure behind him, raising the bottle in her hand before striking him in the head.

Xavier woke up, a world of pain greeted him. "That's the third time this week, Kazoku!" His teacher warned, with the booming voice that had penetrated his dreams, brandishing a rather large and heavy looking hard backed book; the same which had been used on cracking open the students head just moments before. "If I catch you dozing off again, I'll do worse to you than simply splitting that empty skull of yours open, do you understand?" Looking up to the man who was bent double so to be face to face with the negligent student, his left hand gingerly probing the back of his head for any damage and winced when he felt the welt that had formed. "Yes sir." With that response the teacher stood back to his full height and dusted himself off as if he had just beaten a dirty rug and turned around to face the black board which contained a complicated mathematical equation. "As you are now with us, Mr Kazoku, would you kindly please answer the equation?"

Wincing again at the now mental blow he had now endured, he noticed a small smirk on the man who had turned to face him again. With despair the bow's brain began to go into overdrive as it valiantly (if hopelessly) searched every nook and crevice in his mind for an answer but with each passing second the slow and painful signs of defeat started to show, looking up at the board one more time and then back to his teacher he decided to take a guess. "Pi?" It was more a question than a statement and the boy stooped his head in defeat, waiting for his ear to be chewed off by his already furious teacher. When nothing but silence came his way he looked up to see the shock of the man at the front of the room's face. "C-correct. The man stuttered before he could say anything else, graciously the end of class bell rang and before the last chime was over, the previously dozing student was out of the room.

What greeted him outside wasn't much better than the situation he had just left. Great, not even a chance to get to my room, he thought to himself with a sigh, the students were like a massive wave of a stormy sea, something which threatened to wash over him and drown him under their crushing feet. Christ, what am I going to do... Wait I got it! He may not have been much of a mathematician but he was a brilliant thinker, despite being a head taller than the majority of the students that surrounded him he non the less scaled up the closet pillar and yelled at the top of his voice. "Hey! Everyone back to their dorms, anyone who does so now will be allowed to get up closer to the night class so that they can at least hear what you're screaming!" Much like his dream, this also had the desired effect, everyone stopped as if time had suddenly come to a stand still.

This moment of peace was broken as quickly as it happened and the corridors were soon again alive with movement but at least there was some sort of order, that made the prefects job much easier as now he could head to the bridge without having to deal with a crowd of fans to contend with. With the flow of the sea of bodies now under control he headed down to the Moon Dormitory, the main part of his duties as a prefect was about to begin and unfortunately this was not one thing he could sleep through without having, his lovely fellow prefect, Seraphine Roseau would rip out his throat and place rather unsavoury things down the hole and besides, he couldn't allow his little darling Teito Souhma handle all the work. He made it there with little hassle as he thought he would, stuff like what he had promised got around fast in this school and something this juicy would spread even quicker.

"I'm probably gonna get it in the neck now, from Sera but well I'm sure I could get her to agree with a few of them getting closer." With a speak of the devil, his fellow prefect was already waiting there and just in time as the gates of the fabled moon dorm opened. "Oh Sera, just to let you know, we'll be having to let a handful of students closer to the night class students." He gave her a charming smile, the best he could come up with; he wasn't sure on how she would take it after all the night class students were special and not entirely human and it was their job to make sure non of the regular students found out that little secret of theres.

A clock was ticking quietly as it set among the wall, each second being counted by no one, as the two student who resided in the large room where this clock ticked were quite busy with their own work to pay attention to the time. Teito sat at one of the desks, a large window behind him illuminating the room so that no electricity was needed. Though it was clear now that the light was slightly and ever so slowly beginning to dim as the hour grew later. Normally the room was much more boisterous, full of conversation and laughing despite the work the students were usually swamped with. This was the student council room, however the only one's present now were Teito and a boy named Matsuri, the 1st year representative. Where could the res of the council have gone? To attend the special "event" that happened every day around this time.

Teito rose from his desk and let out a relieved sigh, a smile of accomplishment on his face. "Finished with this set!", he said happily before pulling the stack of papers together and tapping them on the desk to straighten them.

"We'd get this done a lot faster if we didn't have fan girls for council members." Matsuri let out a large breath and slumped over his desk, not caring that the pen he was using fell and rolled across the floor. Teito gave a small shrug at his friend's complaint. "There's no helping it. I'm sure they're just excited about the ball coming up." Teito walked around his desk and picked up the dropped pen as Matsuri spoke again.

"That's exactly why they should be here instead! How do they expect just the two of us to set everything up?!"

"Actually, I'm sorry about this but I really have to get going. If I don't leave soon I'm not--"

"Yeah, yeah. Leave me alone to wallow in self-pity. Don't worry, Pres, I know you have other work to do." The 1st year student sat up, taking the pen from Teito's hand, and waved his own to show that he accepted the older boys apology.

"Right thank you and I really am sorry. If you could just finish that part--" His eyes, currently a silvery color, moved to the clock above the doorway for just a second and he suddenly looked worried. "Is it that time already?! Ah, I'm sorry!" For the third time he apologized, feeling guilty about having to leave his friend behind. He didn't have much of choice in the matter though, as his job as a Prefect often overlapped with his Student Council duties. The upcoming ball would certainly have him on his toes.

He picked up his school bag and pulled the strap of a larger case, one that contained his weapon, over his left shoulder and quickly made for the door. "Please do your best to get that bit finished before curfew!", he said to Matsuri before hurrying out the door and rushing down a set of stairs. The gates to the Moon dorms would be opening very soon. Teito might be a fast runner but chances were he would be late.

It took him a couple minutes to get from the Sun dorms to the bridge, having had to stop for a second to pull the band that labeled him as a Prefect over his sleeve and pin it in place. As he reached the end of the bridge he down, spotting the other two Prefects who looked to have arrived a short while ago. It seems the gates had only just opened as well. "In the nick of time!"

He came to a slow stop in front of the other two students, taking a small second to catch his breath before perking up and giving them a bright and somewhat apologetic smile. "Looks like I'm just in time! Sorry I'm a little late, Xavier, Sera-san." He turned his head to each of them as he said their names, then moved his attention to the now open gates of the Moon dorm. "Looks like a messier crowd than usual. We should get to work now so we can have a path cleared for the Night students when the door opens."

He looked back and forth from Xavier to Seraphine, blinking in curiosity. "I didn't butt into anything, did I?"

"Twilight approaches. The curtain has risen and the show begins....how wonderful..."

Bong, bong, bong. The persistent grandfather clock began it's duty to wake up the inhabitants of the Moon Dormitory. Within the darkness of a room, a pair of azure blue eyes cracked open. A tired sigh escaped from the individual as she reluctantly removed herself from the mass of silken sheets and blankets. Mornings, the dreaded challenge every high school student was forced to go through. To this inhabitant of the Moon Dormitory it was no different. In two quick strides, the girl made her way to the curtains. A swift motion with her arm and light washed away the darkness, revealing the room to be quite spacious and very large. At the far end of the room, a cherrywood door opened and the dorm's maid appeared.

"Akane Delacroix, it's time to wake up. Hurry or you'll be late." She said flatly. Akane slowly turned her head to the door and nodded. Across the room, the dorm maid smiled and bowed slightly before leaving as quickly as she appeared. It was like being visited by a ghost."I wonder, shall I try and escape today?" The girl mused and placed a porcelain hand on the window. From here, she witnessed the numerous female students rushing to crowd the entrance of the Moon Dormitory. She pressed her mouth into a tight line. This was the norm at this academy. The Night Class was a show to these girls and their obsession for some of the students was unnerving. "The Disciplinary Committee will really have trouble tonight..." By now the crowd had begun to get out of hand. Akane turned away from the chaotic scene and decided that she would be ditching today. An avid memory of the Headmaster Cross deciding upon having a Spring Ball as the next event furthered her motivation to leave. Her irritation at this crazy scheme appeared on her face in the form of a scowl. The Night Class had enough problems already. If anything got out of hand it fell on the Purebloods' shoulders.

"Well time to get ready...." She said with a sigh. Getting dressed took a mere few seconds with the help of vampiric abilities. However, the ribbon was a bit stifling and she tossed it aside. She left the first buttons on her shirt and jacket were open. As usual she let her hair untouched as always. She hated the idea of looking presentable. It was too much if a hassle in the morning in her opinion. At the back of her throat a sudden itchiness halted her usual routine. That's what I get for not taking last night's dose. She mentally scolded herself. Her fangs unsheathed themselves in anticipation as she made her way to the desk by the window.

From a small drawer, she fished out a plain bottle and unscrewed the cap. Inside were white tablets the size of the dime and she dumped a handful of these into her palm. In one gulp they disappeared and the itchiness dulled. "That's disgusting." She mumbled to herself and pulled out two bars of chocolate from another drawer. One was devoured in a few bites, the other for a snack later. Finally, she slipped on a pair of knee high black socks and a pair of black combat boots before finally heading out the door. Time to conqueror the day, or at least survive.

What greeted her outside her room were a few admirers from the Night class. She received the usual good mornings and bows with a nod, not really paying any attention. The Pureblood status was huge irritation. Everyone wanted your favor, your attention, and your labor. She mentally cursed the Council and it's stupid punishment.

Nearing the entrance to the moon dorm, a crowd of students had already formed around the door when she reached it. "Let's go! One...two....three!" A cheerful voice said. One of the more enthusiastic students was leading the charge. Whoever had the courage to do such a task had her undying thanks. Usually the Purebloods would be leading the class and today, or any other day, she wasn't looking forward to doing that.

Slowly students filed their way out of the door, suddenly picking up speed because of something. "Wait a go, Kazoku." Someone by the window smirked. In curiosity, Akane looked outside as well. Somehow one of the prefects managed to make the Day class retreat to their dorms. "Heh, good job indeed." She glanced back at the stream of students filing out quickly and moved to a position near the end of the crowd. There the excited whispers of wonder reached her ears. Her face remained calm, inside she was imaging bashing the students in the back of the head with something nearby.

What greeted the Night class outside was silence. It was peaceful. She had to thank the Prefects for at least this. With room to actually breath, everyone began breaking into their little groups and chatter began. Gaggles of girls were debating on who they would ask to the Spring Ball, a few on test scores spouted, a conversation on family, and all of which could be gathered under the general topic of gossip. The boys were laughing amongst themselves and were having similar conversations. She refrained from joining any of the groups. All she would receive was a shower a compliments she hoped to avoid.

However, as the group passed the prefects the conversations became more hushed. A few of the students even shot death glares. Despite the fact that they provided safety between the two classes there was a radiating aura of dislike for them. Even so, she could understand their job was difficult and she didn't feel any particular animosity towards them. "Oh Sera, just to let you know, we'll be having to let a handful of students closer to the night class students." The statement cause her eyebrow to twitch. On second thought, maybe the Prefects did deserve their hatred. Today wasn't going to be pleasant at all. KYYAAAAAAAA~!!!!!! Someone please shut them up.

Tick… tick… tick…. A large clock sounded somewhere in the distance, the last few moments of peace being counted down until... bong.... It always seemed to happen this way. No matter where he was, no matter how deep in the Moon Dorm or how far away, he could always hear the last few ticks of that annoying grandfather clock in the very center hall of their ‘home’.

Nemaeus, unlike everyone else, had not been asleep prior to the sounding of time. In all honesty, he rarely slept- or at least so it seemed. With all the hours in a day it was truly a difficult task to pin down which ones the noble actually reserved for sleep.

As the clock chimed deeply throughout the halls, Nem’s gaze shifted lazily over the expanse of dark hallways from his window-side perch. His face contorted into that of displeased irritation- he could already hear the shrill screams ringing inside of his ears from all of the female Day class students. Swiping his hand aside the cloth of the curtains, the setting sun’s last rays eagerly scrabbled inside the darkness of the Moon Dorm. With the invasive light casting its receding rays against the walls and floors, Nemaeus withdrew from his place on the sill.

With a solid thump, the boy’s boots made contact with the marble floor and his hands found a home in his pant pockets while he strode down the halls. The irritated edge to his eyes never faded as he weaved through the extensive hallways towards his room. Despite being active for the majority of the day, he had not bothered to change into his ‘uniform’. It was a task he despised as it meant he was bending against the pressure of conforming to this school.

He took his good, sweet time changing, putting off having to emerge from the manse and face the unruly crowds. However, in doing so, he also had to endure longer the excruciating task of killing his standards with the donning of the white clothing that marked him as a willing individual to this experiment the Elders had concocted for the mixing of humans and vampires. Not only was it a foolish idea in general, but it was worsened by the fact they had decided to shove Nemaeus of all candidates into the mix.

The naïve yet prideful assumption that the Council could contain and control him irked the noble to no end. His rebellious side raged and yelled, ramming against its confines in blind fury. It made his blood boil. No one would have power over him except himself. He was his own person, and others just made a complete mess of everything when they had authority.

Clenching his teeth together tightly and accidently nicking his lip with his fangs in the process, the metallic tang of blood met his tongue and his eyes widened slightly, snapping him out of his vexed reverie. With a sigh Nemaeus brought his hand up to his forehead, swiping a few stray hairs out of his eyes before wandering over to his desk drawers. Hooking his fingers into the handle, he pulled the drawer out and eyed the blood tablets with disdain. It was a crime against humanity, really. Not only were the things vile, but it was yet another flashing obstacle towards his own limited say in this whole Cross Academy matter. It wasn’t that he particularly liked feeding off of humans other than the legitimacy of the taste and nutrients in their blood- he hated relying on anyone or anything other than himself- but to be faced with the humiliation of having to restrain himself for the benefit of the Council constantly battled the clever and resourceful tool that the blood tablets actually posed.

Dropping a handful of them into a nearby glass of water, he swirled the mixture until it became a thick crimson color before actually taking a swig. Ugh, he didn’t understand how Akane could possibly take the things flat out with no help from anything else. To have the things dissolve on your tongue… Nemaeus shivered in disturbance.

Shaking his head a bit, he turned from the desk and quickly strode out of his room. He didn’t know how much time had passed, and he didn’t care either. He usually hung towards the back of the pack anyway- one of the last vampires to arrive if he could help it. Unfortunately, the others tended to like him at the front with them where they could keep an eye on him. He rolled his eyes.

As he neared the large oaken doors that led to the bridge, he was met with quite the surprise. Was that… silence he heard? His eyes widened in curiosity, his steps hastening ever so slightly. Could it actually be possible? Were the brats going to be silent for once? Did the prefects actually manage to get a hold on the humans? If that were the case then Nemaeus would definitely have to-

”NEMAEUS!!!!”, “NEMMI-CHAN”, “OVER HERE!!!!” “Look at his beautiful eyes!!”. As the noble vampire crossed the threshold into the open air, all hell broke loose. Pure, unfiltered hate flashed in his eyes for a moment. Had they planned it this way just to piss him off? Have the girls silent only long enough until he arrived? The small groups that had previously been split up suddenly conglomerated back together, and the usual chaos of the class switching was struck up once more. With the sudden outbursts from some of the Day class students, it seemed that it had lit a fuse that encouraged everyone else to embrace the chaos.

Did they seem… closer? ”…Let students closer to the Night class." The words dropped loudly, suddenly drowning out every screech and yell as Nemaeus’ focus landed harshly on one of the Prefects, Xavier, to be exact.

I’ll Kill Him.

The screams quickly resumed their intensity and the crowd pushed against the prefects that did their best to hold them back as that one, single, poisonous thought repeated itself in Nem’s head. Where he had previously been standing in complete silence at the head of the doors, Nemaeus was suddenly stalking towards the prefect in question. From the time that Xavier had dropped that little bomb to the other prefect, Serafiend or whatever her name was, they had split up to take up their positions. So when Nemaeus approached him, he was alone against the striving Day class students in his sector.

Externally, Nemaeus held his forever-present calm look of complete disinterest, but ireful rage bubbled right beneath the surface. It had been his brilliant idea to put the sanity of the Night class at risk, and Nemaeus had an irksome feeling that it had been done simply to spite him and give him a massive headache right before the dull, time-wasting classes began.

While he hated the screams with a passion, his urge to give hell to those in authority easily overpowered his instinct to keep as far a distance as possible between him and the ravenous Day class. As he neared, the hordes of students pushed ever more persistently against Xavier, certainly taxing his strength and overwhelming his senses. He leaned precariously close to the extended arms of the prefect, his gaze directly focused on the girls who were desperately trying to grab at his form and drag him into the writhing mass of doom that awaited on the other side of the prefect.

He flashed what seemed to be a wink in the direction of the girls, a lazy smirk breaking onto his lips in the process as he spoke, ”Anyone like vampires?” The comment received its intended effect as a chorus of screams and wailings followed, all clumped together as to make any answer incoherent. The force and pressure picked up against the prefect, and the girls strained against him voraciously.

Nemaeus turned away as if none of that had just occurred, though a very dark smirk flashed across his face in triumph for a moment before it completely vanished. He left the prefect to deal with the many bodies that were trying to throw themselves against him to break his barricade. It did not matter to the vampire whether or not the prefect could contain them. While he did not have much faith in the human’s abilities, he did not doubt that the boy had been placed as a prefect for a reason. However, should he break under the pressure and allow a stream to trickle through, how delicious would that be? He would be severely punished, and every vampire would look down on him with distaste and distrust. And if he got trampled in the process? Even better.

Turning his attention up to where Ciel and Akane were currently walking with one another further up the expanse, a bored look tilted his expression slightly as he walked towards their general direction, slowing down every so often to cause other prefects a hassle by ‘accidently’ wandering too close to them.

However, before Nemaeus made the decision of joining the purebloods, continuing on his own, or wandering with another of the noble vampires, his eyes settled on the proudly standing form of Miss Prefect. While the noble vampire’s wrath had already been carried out on Xavier, he did not spare her either. She was supposedly the head of the prefects, or so he got the impression. He came up silently, eyes purposefully focused on the back of her head.

He leaned down, flaring his nostrils a bit and disturbing the top of her hair. Nemaeus’ eyes narrowed as he gazed subtly out at the Day class students. He rested a light hand on the girl’s shoulder, causing a few infuriated cries from the girls nearby about how unfair it was that the prefects got to be so close to the Night class and how they only volunteered to do it to rub it in their faces. He leaned in and whispered something, making it look as private a moment as he possibly could in front of the fangirls, that charming little smirk of his filling his lips once more as his breath tickled her earlobe.

However, in reality his words were harsh and grating. ”Do your job and get a better hold on these sniveling starry-eyed females.” Knowing Nemaeus, his words definitely could have been taken as a threat, but they mainly came across as overly-patient and bored.

Mikari woke up to silence, her room almost pitch black except for the small slit of sunlight that vibrantly splashed against the bedroom wall. No matter how she tried to arrange the curtains, there always seemed to be that one annoying gap. Maybe the fabric was too short? She would have to ask the dorm maid about it, since the brightness was rather irritating. After a moment of contemplating the offending spot of sun, Mika gave a large yawn and stretched as far as she could reach.

Her eyes barely half open, she pushed the covers forward and sat up, once again looking around the room. This time the various crumpled piles of clothing caught her notice. As long as no one needed to come into her room but her, she did not care enough to clean them up. The only clothing that absolutely had to stay clean was her uniform, and that hung neatly on the closet door. Since she was already up, there was no way she could fall asleep again. She may miss the bell if she fell into a deep sleep so close to dusk. Once that happened, it usually took quite a feat to wake her.

She scooted to the side of the bed and hung her feet over before standing and walking over to the desk. Her sketch book stood neatly to one side, an easel holding a half-finished painting of a fountain occupying the clean corner. The rest of the desk was an unorganized mess of papers, books, pencils, and other such paraphernalia. She picked up the sketch book and a couple pencils and set them on the bed. That would be enough to occupy her until the bell rung. She walked over to the dresser and removed the white uniform, careful not to wrinkle it. Soon, she was dressed, and her hair was carefully brushed and restyled to look a bit messy, but in a more relaxed and cute way than simple bedhead. At least that is how it seemed to Mika’s thinking.

She put a couple tablets in a small glass of water, hoping that would give her a slight bit more energy, and grimaced at the taste of the liquid. It satisfied her hunger, but did little besides. She grabbed the items off her bed and a parasol and stole out of the room. Even a fellow vampire would have had a hard time noticing her, and she walked seemingly it without effort. The illusion was broken with a wide yawn, the only noise she had made since leaving the room. She went down to the large front doors and opened one just enough to slip through, closing it as she moved outdoors.

The bright light of the slowly setting sun made her squint in discomfort, and she quickly opened the white parasol to block out the light. Knowing that the squealing Day class students would soon be clamoring about, she had little desire to go outside the walls circling the Moon dorm. Besides, all those silly humans were too worked up over the coming dance. It would be a nightmare out there this evening. Mika gave a sigh, settling herself down under a tree near the wall and opening her sketchbook. She looked up at the Moon Dorm building, locating the particular ornamented steeple she wanted to draw. It was off to the side, and not often noticed, but Mika thought it had some good features. She would transfer it to a canvas and paint it later, but for now she only had time for a basic drawing.

It was not long before the sun was touching the horizon, and leaving long shadows streaking away to the east. Mikari could hear the gongs ringing, alerting the Night Class members to begin to ready themselves for class. Mika finished up the detail she had been working on, then stood and brushed her skirt off. She closed her book and nestled it in the crook of her arm before again raising the parasol over her head. It was not as bright now since the sun had almost totally set, but a little protection from its rays was still a relief to her eyes. She slipped back into the dorm, giving a slight smile to a vampire sitting on the sofa, and hurried to her room. As soon as she set her things down on the desk, she left again. The door closed behind her with a soft click, and she went back down to the main doors, taking a seat on the sofa herself.

Many of the Night class students had already gathered, ready for their daily appearance. Mika could already hear the screaming girls waiting and grimaced at the shrill sounds. Such juvenile idiocy… It was not long before one of the more energetic vampires led the way out the doors. They were usually supposed to be lead by a Pureblood, but it was not surprising that it did not happen that way. It rarely did. She located the Pureblood, Akane, with her eyes, and noted her position so Mika could avoid her for a bit.

As the gates opened, Mikari was surprised to hear relative quiet. However, that only lasted a bare moment, especially when Nemaeus crossed the threshold. Mika shot him an amused look as several girls shouted out cutesy nicknames and beckoned for his attention. However, something one of the prefects mentioned about letting some students closer set him off, and he began riling the students up. Mika noticed the other Pureblood, the little boy Ciel, making his way forward. She was momentarily distracted with watching the young vampire, and almost didn’t notice Nemaeus approaching Seraphine.

He definitely had the crowd of girls worked up, and Mika was surprised that the prefects were able to hold that raging sea of hormones back at all. She approached Nemaeus, ignoring little miss Prefect for the moment. Her half-closed eyes gave her an almost demure look, and her tone, though soft, was loud enough to be heard over all the squeals and shouting. She tugged slightly on Nemaeus’s sleeve as she spoke, “Oy, Nem-kun. You should help me stay awake in class tonight.” A large yawn punctuated the end of her statement, and she rubbed one eye sleepily. The tablets had not helped all that much, but that was normal. Her hand paused in its tugging as she yawned. However, she started tugging a bit more insistently after, until she got Nem to turn toward her.

An all too familiar, male voice burst suddenly from the crowd. “Meek-chan! Er, no… Mika-chan!” A blond haired boy in the black uniform pushed his way to the front and managed to squeeze past the prefect for a moment. He gave a stiff, jerky bow as he nervously shouted, “Meek-chan! Please say you’ll dance with me at the spring dance!”

She gave a shy smile, still half hidden behind the intimidating form of Nemaeus, which only served to make the love-struck boy in front of her more nervous. She stepped slightly to the side so she was facing the boy, and with a pondering look said, “That might be possible. See ya.” Her smile widened momentarily and she gave a tiny wave before again giving Nem’s sleeve a tug so he would maybe walk beside her. “We don’t want to be late, Nem-kun,” she intoned, the slightest bit of irritation in her tone at the interruption. She would definitely make an effort to avoid that blonde-haired human, but just barely so he thought he still had a chance. Playing chase was always amusing.

...No.

Yukina Shiro had been locked in her room all day, while the other Night Class students slept. She did what she always did when she was bored, besides sleeping. In front of her was what looked like a tree, about a meter tall, and completely frozen. She extended her left arm out, formed a tiny, delicate snowflake on the tip of her finger, and added it to the tree. The tree's back was made ouf of ice, it's insides made out of ice, the branches, the twigs, all made out of ice. If one observed closely, they'd see extreme detail and the care to attention that had been taken in making this tree. Detail wise, it looked like a real, natural tree. Each piece of bark was it's own separate tiny and detailed scale. The branches jutted out from the top, some thick, some thin, eventually getting thinner near the ends, with smaller branches and then smaller twigs all jutting out from the branches. Some twigs were broken, some branches were broken or looked like they had been eaten through or rotted away. Little by little, she had placed a single snowflake on each branch again and again, then on each snowflake another, again and again. Until eventually there was thousands of snowflakes acting as leaves. On the floor around the tree, was ice-bark, ice-twigs, tiny blades of grass made out of ice, and leaves out of snow. Each and every detail had been carefully taken care of and added by her hand.

It has been a project she had started when she came to Cross Academy three years ago. Of course, with her ice powers, she could make another tree in minutes, but it wouldn't have as much detail and it wouldn't mean as much. She spent years on this tree, putting her time, attention and care into it.

Tick...tick...tick... She picked her head up. Subconsciously she had been counting the seconds since she started making the tree. Seven thousand one hundred fifty five seconds. She was half a minute from having worked on it for two hours. She stood up, then and looked around her room. The air in her room was always kept below freezing, but her room was insulated so the extreme temperatures in there wouldn't affect the rest of the Moon Dorm. She yawned. Her curtains had been permanently frozen shut with such thick packed ice that little light would go into her room. It was almost pitch black save for the dull blue glow of the sunlight refracting through the ice, making her room glow faintly.

Thump-thump-thump. Someone had knocked on her door. The knocks sounded dulled, muffled, as the sound had a slightly harder time traveling through the thick air in her room. She understood. There was only a few precious minutes until the Moon Dorm's Gates opened, and her and the rest of the Night Class left the dorms and crossed over to the main academy building. She went over to her bed and put on her black hemmed white Night Class uniform, then she crossed the room and opened her door to the main hallway. The outside room temperature air blasted into her room like a furnace. She quickly shut the door behind her and sighed. Yukina pulled a mint lollipop out of her pocket, froze it through, then started sucking on it to keep her mouth cool.

Tick...tick...tick... bonnng. The clock said, signaling the next hour. She walked out of the dormitories, and outside with the rest of the Night Class, keeping the air around her cool with her powers. When the gates opened and the shouting started, she toned out everyone. She ignored Nemaeus's rage, after all he was always annoyed. She went oblivious to Mikari's flirting, the Perfect's struggling and Ciel's lateness. She walked with a bored expression in her eyes, seeing everything in front of her but not acknowledging it all.

"It's Kirei-chan! She's so tiny and cute!" "Kirei-chan, Kirei-chan!" "Shiro." She said quickly but sharply, snapping to attention and to annoyance. She sighed quickly, a sharp exhale of breath, and looked to the other Night Class students. Some enjoyed the attention, others ignored it, and others were peeved at it. She looked ahead again, waiting anxiously for the moment when they had passed all of the Day Class students. Sometimes she was in the mood to be playful, other times she was a bit of a stalker. At this moment, she was quiet and annoyed.

"Everybody's a critic."

Xavier could tell he was in trouble or at the very least, the stage just before the in trouble started; a silent Sera was similar to a shark swimming up to you, it may not make any sounds but it's intentions were still the same. Fortunately for him, his luck was still holding out as the always energetic Teito came into play, taking the heat off the nervous prefect for a split second. "Hey my little Teito-chan, how's student president life treating you today?" He chuckled out loud, giving the smaller boy a friendly nudge in the ribs with his elbow, his cheerfulness was short lived when the female vampire hunter focused once more on himself. "It would seem you have made a deal with the Day Class. How delightful, you have a knack for negotiations, Xavier-san." Despite a brief brow twitch and muttering himself to cram the honorific up some a certain hole, the boy was for a lost of words, he wasn't to sure whether to take the comment at face value or if the more senior prefect was simply being sarcastic but before he was able to make a desision Sera was off in a moment, her duties coming into play.

With a soft sigh he walked over to a group of students, mainly girls, who were calling his name. "So you're the ones who want to take me up on my offer then? He asked casually, the group wasn't as large as he had expected but non the less he had no dout they would be loud enough with the front row seats they had secured. The response he got was the usual array of screams, yes' and wide eyed gawping; so he took them closer than the usual boundary that they were allowed making sure his formidable mass was always between them and what would be the night classes location. "Now listen you lot, I'm possibly going to get chewed out a second time this day for you lot being this close so would you ple-" The rest of his sentence was drowned out as the small group behind him and a sudden rush of bodies against his back and raised arms almost knocked him off his feet.

After quickly regaining his balance he noticed the source of the sudden ferocity of his fellow day students; Namaeus, he had picked the one group which was devoted to the only vampire that despised his fanbase more than he did authority, the latter trait also being shared by the now struggling prefect. Whilst his muscles strained against the constant pressure of the students behind him, he tried his best to give a relaxed smile to the now approaching rule breaker, he didn't want it to come off strained since he genuinely liked the vampire's attitude towards rules and even had turned a blind eye to some of his more harmless rebellions whether Nemaeus knew it or not. Once the prowling figure had reached him and his ever so loyal fans, the ferocity of theirs struggles to reach him, doubled, having to snag a few arms before they could grab what ever they could of the night class student Xavier had more than his hand full.

With his ears almost screaming back at the painfully loud calls and screams of the students behind him, he almost never heard the rebel casually ask. "Anyone like vampires?" Despite such a small remark what had already been a constant strain against his body became tenfold, he was beginning to lose ground as he slowly was pushed further and further into the general direction of the night class. With the damage done, Xavier watched as Nemaeus walked away and with the thought of resisting the struggling students, at least if I'm trampled to death it saves me from being killed by Sera, one of the more smaller girls from a lower year managed to slip under his aching arms. "Come back, Nemaus-chan! She screamed immediately bringing her to the prefects attention, if she hadn't have shouted after the vampire she would have made it to him without the struggling boy even realising what was going on but her otaku nature was hers and the night student's little plan undoing.

Without letting pressure go with his stance against the restricted students, the prefect snatched out his right arm and by the width of a hair was able to snatch the fabric of her jacket which gave him the leverage to not only pull her back but swing the girls petite body onto his shoulders. The girl squealed and thrashed out with her arms and legs for a moment before giving up in defeat, a sigh of relief escaped his lips, it had been a close call and definitely would have caused harm to the boy's authority if he hadn't dealtt with it as soon as he did. "Curfew is in session for the Day Class. Whatever my fellow prefect promised beforehand is null and void due to your inappropriate behavior and lack of decorum." At the sound of Seras voiced raised, Xavier turned his head to look at the girl. "At the count of three, if you are still here. The Spring Ball shall be cancelled." And without prompt the senior prefect started to count down and never before in his life had Xavier seen a group of people move with such speed and purpose, he stared at the rushing mass for a moment before he felt the girl he was currently restraining struggle against his grip.

"Jōkū-san you're going to get the ball cancelled!" The girl cried, prompting him to place her to the ground gently before she sprang after her classmates. He looked around to see if there was any stragglers who had decided to try and lurk about until they could spring on their favourite student but besides from the prefects and the night class the place was deserted, he caught the eye of the pure-blood Akane Delacroix and gave her a friendly smile and a small wave only taking his attention away when Sera approached him. "I appreciate your initiative. That's a good sign." She beamed at the taller student, allowing himself to revert back into his usual relax self he was completely off guard when a sudden pain in his ear forced hi down to his superiors height. "But remind me not to put you in any future negotiations." She released him with the same smile she had been giving before the rather unnecessary punishment. "At least it limited the damage, instead of at least fifteen nut jobs trying to upset our special students it was just the handful!" He stated casually, hoping the joke wouldn't go to waste.

When Teito was with them, Sera started to speak again but the tallest of the prefects attention drifted to the vampires, he scanned them one by one out of casual curiosity more than duty, he had come to recognise all of them and even had spoke to some, not exactly the type of conversation he had with his fellow humans since the glares did get tiring after a while but non the less it was better than nothing. After his gaze fell on Akane again, his dull blue orbs shifted their sight lower to the floor and spotted the other pure-blood Ciel Rin, the "grown child" as some of the more malicious day students called him. Hehehe look how small and cute he is. He chuckled to himself, temporarily forgetting that the little earl was rumoured to be able to read minds, his attention returned back to his group as Miss Prefect finished her sentence, oblivious to what she had said and with a familiar growl emitting from his stomach. "Anyone else want me to cook something up for a quick bite before anything?"

Teito had taken up his usual spot near the entrance, careful to be sure that there was plenty of room for the Night class students who were now making their way out of the dorm building. The Day class students who had gather around had started off quieter than usual. However, as anyone would expect, the silence didn't last very long and the voices of girls and some boys erupted into mixed shouts as the rest of the Night students left the building, it getting especially loud as the popular Nemaeus made his appearance.

Despite the boisterous crowd and screaming girls, Teito never seemed to have any real problems keeping the crowd back. The Day class students that he stood in front of just didn't look like they were prepared to go shoving into him as they did his fellow prefects. Harsh words were rarely thrown his way, and he even had a couple of students ask him if he was planning to take anyone to the ball, which he declined in a most apologetic manner. With his job as a prefect and his duty as council president he just wouldn't have the time to enjoy the ball himself.

The Night students had nearly cleared the area, and with a loud whistle from Seraphine she grabbed the attention of the crowd.

"Go back to your dorms immediately, if not I have been given full authority by the Headmaster to cancel the Spring Ball and all events afterwards as I see fit."

"That's Sera for you." Teito gave the girl a small smile, though his eyebrows were slightly furrowed as she shouted more orders.

"At the count of three, if you are still here. The Spring Ball shall be cancelled."

The students quickly rushed away from the Moon dorm gates, fearful of Seraphine's threat. Of course the head master would never cancel anything like that, but Sera sure made it sound convincing.

Teito continued to watch the Day students as they left, just to keep an eye out for anyone who might try to sneak off in the direction of the Night students, or perhaps hide behind the dorm. When he was assured that they had all done as they were told, he made his way over to the other prefects just as Sera released Xavier's eyes from a death grip.

"This must be a busy week for you. Don't stress yourself too much."

Teito shrugged his shoulders, readjusting the strap of his weapon case as he did so. "I've just got a little extra work to do is all. It's no trouble."

"Xavier-san, you and Teito-san would be patrolling together. Like as always, gentlemen."

"Roger that!", he said cheerfully, giving the girl a playful salute, but dropping it slowly as he heard a quiet grumbling noise that seemed to have come from Xavier. Teito couldn't help but let out a small chuckle at the sound, though he did his best not to be to loud.

"Anyone else want me to cook something up for a quick bite before anything?" One could tell that the taller boy hadn't heard what Seraphine had said. Come to think of it, Teito hadn't eaten anything since lunch, and that only consisted of a bag of potato chips that weren't very filling. He was too busy to actually get lunch from the cafeteria.

"Maybe it would be best to eat something. It's not healthy to work on an empty stomach and--" Teito raised his free hand and placed it on his stomach. "I haven't really eaten much today." His other hand was still holding his school bag. He'd run right over from the student council room, not having time to leave his bag in his room or get a quick snack. "Let's not take too much time with that though, okay?"

"Keep a close eye on you're prey or else you'll lose it."

The screams were deafening from both sides! Akane stole a quick glance at the crowd to her right and her eyes widened slightly in surprise. They were definitely closer than usual. Just a few more inches and their outstretched hands would be able to touch the Night class. Wait....that means they could possibly grab someone, right? A small smile spread across her face. She wondered if the prefects would be able to catch her after this little idea.

However, her devious thoughts were interrupted by the approach of her fellow Pureblood. "Good evening, Ciel." She said in an even voice. She had seen him at a few parties in the past and now went to the same school, but they were only acquaintances and only worked together through a form of mutual agreement. Nothing more nothing less. The idea of friendship was something she found interesting, yet she didn't bother with it. In her mind friendship went like this; you pick someone you like and you do stuff with them. It was very fascinating watching the process. But, it wasn't something she would attempt anytime soon.

Suddenly, the already unbearable screams increased in volume and ferocity with the chant of one vampire's name. To Akane that meant only one thing. "Nemaeus has appeared." She mumbled under her breath. He was one of the few vampires the Council has specifically warned to keep in line. Unfortunately for them, she had no intention of carrying out what she asked. Though she did try to keep the Night Class in line. Her train of thought was quickly severed when the shadow of a towering student in the Day Class student approached her. He was out of breath from fighting the crowd by the looks of it and the fact he had her attention wasn't helping. His breath only grew more ragged when she looked him in the eyes. "May I help you? It wasn't a question at all and she was dreading what the student would ask her.

"Please go with me to the Spring ball! The student managed to croak. A polite smile that didn't quite reach her eyes, formed on her lips. "No thank you. I don't care for balls." She said softly. Disappointment appeared on his face and he quickly retreated into the vicious crowd. With that she started walking again, not a damn was given about the heart she just crushed. Ciel was probably tottering after her so she slowed down her pace only slightly. Then....CIEL-SAMA!!!! RIN-CHAN!!! PLEASE GO WITH ME TO THE BALL!!!! The oppressive aura given off by the female fans nearly knocked her off her feet. The urge to make a dash for the door was very tempting, but before she could decide on such a thing, one girl had managed to get past the outstretched prefect's arms and make a quick grab for Ciel.

There it was. Her opportunity to slip away off this prison of inappropriate behavior and broken toys. Just before the girl's hands could get a grip on Ciel, Akane quickly shoved him out of the way. "Sorry, I promise to do half the paperwork for this favor. She whispered to him before getting dragged into the sea of doom. The mass of bodies started pressing, squishing, and smashing her as soon as she entered. How the prefects managed to keep such a monstrous power back was unthinkable. It was like some form of torture. Despite the forceful jostling Akane managed to get a hand free and produce a piece of paper from her jacket pocket. With a bit of concentration, a drawing sprung off the paper and came to life. It was a body double of herself and on closer inspection it was easy to tell it wasn't her. However, right now wasn't the time to think about that. Then, she kicked the body double out of the crowd to where Ciel was hopefully waiting. In a mere few seconds all of this had unfolded.

The plan was going as expected and though she wasn't fond of breaking rules, she couldn't stop now. Punishments would be issued if she were caught and the head prefect wasn't going to make them pleasant whatsoever. As if on queue, Miss Prefect spoke about canceling the Spring Ball and the vicious mass of students began to clear out before Roseau reached the count of one. With that crowd Akane took her leave as well. She quickly detached herself from the girls on the way to the Sun Dorm and with a vampiric burst of speed ran towards the gates of Cross Academy. She didn't feel any regret about this and the thought of thought of leaving Ciel to deal with the Night Class himself was quite amusing. No one could catch her now.

Well no one but the Night time gatekeeper. Hopefully the gatekeepers hadn't changed shifts yet and she paused briefly at the gatekeeper's window. "Ryugen, are you there?" Silence. She frowned and discovered the compartment was empty. That was rather foolish to not have anyone watching over the gates. Well that wasn't her problem that the school was now unguarded. She then turned her attention to the task at hand. With a graceful leap she made it over the gates and went on her merry way to the town ahead. The feeling of having escaped her cage for the time led to humming a very mirthful tune.

Meanwhile, the drawing of Akane had reached the steps of the main building to only explode in a spray of black ink. Whoever was standing by it at the time would be very unfortunate.

Smiles are but an accessory.

Ciel strode alongside to Akane, regarding her closely. The air around her was different today… was she planning something? But of course, she almost always was every day, thinking of new ways to escape the school. In fact, he would be quite surprised if she turned up to any of the lessons on time at all. He gave a quiet sigh as he toyed with the idea of going into her mind for a little peek, to find out exactly how she was planning to sneak out, but decided against it. It took a considerably large amount of will power to enter a fellow vampire’s mind, and he would need that for later, just in case. After all, it was hard to say if she would get offended by that, and he tried not to get onto anyone’s bad side for now.

Just as they were about to exit the crowd, the ear piercing screams seemed to kick up another notch. Ciel winced slightly as the crowd started screaming, chanting and asking to go to the spring ball all at one time. His mind came to the immediate conclusion. Nemaeus. He was one of the more rebellious of students, always getting into the prefects way and making life difficult for them. What was he up to this time? He watched, slightly amused as he flirted with the girls, causing them to act even more crazily, if that was even possible for them to.

He watched on as the prefect, Xavier struggled with the frenzied students, feeling a twinge of disappointment as the prefect managed to subdue them, before being distracted by the screams of the day class students. Ignore them, ignore them he repeated over and over again in his head, shutting his eyes with irritation as if to keep the noise out. He just needed to get out of the crowd and go to class. Perhaps he could get Akane to go on time for once, but he doubted it. Just as he was wondering if he should bribe her with chocolate, he felt a push as he was shoved, causing him to stumble forward. “Wah-“ He was just about to protest to whoever pushed him when he heard Akane’s whisper. Sorry, I promise to do half the paperwork for this favor. Before he could react, she had already disappeared into the mass of bodies in the crowd.

Heaving a sigh, he quickly regained his balance and pushed through the crowd, waiting for her outside, safe from those crazy humans. Soon enough, he saw her, or what was supposed to be her come outside the crowd. However, his sharp eyes soon spotted the crude lines and some markings on her usually unblemished skin. Although it was, in his opinion, much to easy to spot out, he couldn’t help but admire the older vampire a bit for her power. That will be extremely handy in times like those, without actually exposing her identity. Still, first things first. He grabbed the body double and steadied her balance. “Well, off you go then, Akane no. 2, classes are starting.” He spoke to the double as if it really was her, faking the fact that it was not. Though he didn’t really enjoy being an accomplice, it will be quite interesting to see the students reel in shock as Akane exploded, and as a bonus, he could use some help with the paperwork. He doubted that she would try to promise him something that rash again after she saw what he had to deal with. It was worth taking care of the night class until she comes back at least, and he could always say that he didn’t notice that it was a fake.

Walking away from her leisurely, he walked slightly closer to the prefects curiously, his eyes flickering in red as he trying to probe Seraphine’s mind again. No luck. For some reason, her mind was totally closed off to him, and she was one of the only people he could not get access to. How was a matter he could not comprehend. In the process, he unintentionally heard Xavier’s thoughts as his mind wandered off. Slightly irked, he shot a glare in his direction, while giving them a mock bow “Glad to see you’re all doing your jobs so well, miss prefect. It could be considered a miracle that none of the night students were injured by you subordinate’s brilliant plans.” He intoned slowly, giving them a sweet smile. “And yes, Xavier, even a small, cute child could come up with a better plan than yours,” he added before turning on his heels and following the rest of the night class inside for classes. They are his temporary responsibility after all, no matter how annoying they are.

"Battles are won with a full stomach."

Image

As Xavier expected, Seraphine declined, he hadn't put much hope into the girl accepting but he was determined to make her like him at least on a friendship case even if he had the feeling she didn't think too highly of him as a prefect; Teito on the other hand accepted his proposal saying he too was hungry. "Let's not take too much time with that though, okay?" The slacker grinned widely, he wasn't planning on abusing this free time he was given but he had no intentions to not take full advantage of it and with his grin turning into a sly smirk, he gave the smaller boy a gentle nudge in the ribs with his elbow. "Sure, what ever you say, Teito" He turned back to the senior prefect, she was getting ready to leave for her duties. "You two, go ahead and grab something to eat. I’ll handle things here for a while." He nodded as a thanks, in truth he promised to himself that he was going to make it up to her and do something nice for her since she always sorted out what ever problems he landed himself into.

Standing out of her way, the prefect was about to let his senior pass when another figure joined their trio. The figure as it turned out to be was none other than the pure-blood Ciel or the Little Earl as many were fond of calling him, the same vampire he was thinking about just a moment ago. “Glad to see you’re all doing your jobs so well, miss prefect. It could be considered a miracle that none of the night students were injured by you subordinate’s brilliant plans.” The vampire addressed this to Sera but Xavier couldn't help but to notice the poorly hidden sarcasm and annoyance hid behind a smile that seemed like a sickly dessert to the boy, yeah right, if the day class students really could harm one of you lot then I wouldn't have had a chance in hell of joining this school, he thought casually whilst the female prefect replied to the response giving an equally condescending sentence. “And yes, Xavier, even a small, cute child could come up with a better plan than yours,” The diminutive vampire added as he began to walk away to which the prefect merely smiled and gave a small wave but mentally gave him the finger and thought 'out loud', well next time you're on one of your little play dates with such children, let me know and I'll ask them for some ideas.

Also if you ever speak like that to anyone of us like that again, I'll personally place you on the naughty step so you can have a time out, okay, Kiddo? He added casually just as he had the previous thought. Once the rather small confrontation had removed itself, Seraphine began to head off to her duties, "Well, I’ll catch up with you two later. Don’t take too long. Keep him focus, Teito-san." He waved off the girl as she walked away and once she was out of sight, he turned to Teito and smiled. "Well off to my lair it seems." He chirped cheerfully before grabbing the smaller boy around the midriff and half guided, half hauled him towards his dormitory to which they made it to in no time with no distractions to take them of course. Once at their destination, Xavier realised his grip from his partners small frame and opened the door, standing to the side to let his guest though before coming in after him and closed the door shut, "Well make yourself at home. He stated as he marched towards the small kitchen he asked the headmaster to install when he arrived, throwing off his jacket as he did so.

He immediately started to rummage through the fridge that faced the doorway and after several moment produced three boxes of half a dozen eggs each, three blocks of cheese, an onion and a box of mushrooms. He set these down on the kitchen counter by the oven and placed a pan on the hob with one hand whilst turning it on with the oven; he grabbed a small bowl from a cupboard, cracked a few eggs so their runny treasures poured into the bowl and immediately started to whisk them with a fork. "I hope an omelette's all right for you?" He asked pouring the now combined eggs into the now heated pan."Since I'm not allowed the time to make us something proper like an English Breakfast."

It didn't take long for him to produce their meals along with two cups of tea, one large omelette for Teito and three large ones for himself; he handed over the small boys meal, with a fork and knife, taking a seat as he did so with his meal so tantalisingly close that it made his mouth water. The first one was gone in minutes his stomach groaning with delight as it began to devour something besides itself but he began to take his time with the second one savouring each bite of the slowly diminishing omelette, "Sera doesn't like me very much does she?" He asked suddenly facing the boy, eying him up as he did so but shook his head in the way. "Ah never mind, what about you, Teito, how's the council holding up? Need any help with it? He asked, the frown which had come over his face briefly disappearing into his usual casual smile. "And oh before I forget, has anyone asked you to the dance yet... He trailed off trying his best to look embarrassed, hoping he could make the boy fall for his bluff. "It's only just I.. I- know a couple of girls in my classes that have taken interest into you, so how about it, fancy dancing with an older woman?"He chuckled loudly.

"Keep him focus, Teito-san."

Teito gave the girl a small nod, acknowledging her words but not taking them in too serous of a manner. It was a shame she wouldn't be joining them for a quick dinner. After all Xavier was on amazing cook and it would be nice to spend time with them both, but at least one of them had to start patrolling. Besides, Seraphine seemed to take her duty as a Prefect quite seriously, something Teito found to be admittedly inspirational. Being a Prefect was never what he had planned to do, and if given the choice he'd most likely go back to just being a regular student. He wanted to enter Cross Academy for other reasons, though he wasn't entirely sure what those reasons were either..

"Well off to my lair it seems."

Teito blinked out of his thoughts at Xavier's voice, turning slightly as his smile returned to his lips, though a somewhat surprised expression crossed his face as the taller boy's arm was placed around Teito's waist. The surprised look changed back to it's original smile as the two of them practically shuffled their way to the sun dorm, Xavier only releasing him after they reached the Prefect's own dorm room.

"Well make yourself at home."

That's right. As it turns out this was actually his first time at Xavier's dorm. He made his way inside, stopping a few feet in to look around as the door closed behind him and Xavier headed towards the kitchen. Teito watched in awe as Xavier moved about, preparing the ingredients swiftly as if he'd done it a hundred times. It reminded Teito of the way his mother would prepare dinner as if she was a chef in a five star restaurant, even when making the simplest of meals.

"I hope an omelette's all right for you? Since I'm not allowed the time to make us something proper like an English Breakfast."

"I haven't had an omelet in a while actually!", he said with a hint of excitement in his voice as he sat town at the table. "As long as you're making it I could eat anything."

Come to think of it, he hadn't yet informed his parents of his new Prefect job. He called them when he first settled down in his dorm, but he rarely had any time since then. "I should talk to them soon..

Suddenly there was a plate set in front of him and Teito perked up, leaning in a little to take in the aroma for a moment before sitting up and thanking Xavier for the meal. He eagerly took his first few bites, mentally joking to himself that his mom had some competition.

"Sera doesn't like me very much does she?"

Stopping mid-bite, the fork in Teito's hand lowered slightly and his eyes moved up to look across the table at Xavier. He was a little confused at the sudden question, wondering why Xavier would ask such a thing. "You don't think she likes you?"

"Ah never mind, what about you, Teito, how's the council holding up? Need any help with it?"

"Uhm, well I've been really busy with the ball coming up." "He changed the subject."

"And oh before I forget, has anyone asked you to the dance yet..."

Teito took another bite of his food, though he seemed to prolong the chewing a little as Xavier continued, a way of procrastinating his answer. He had had a couple of girls in his class ask him, but he really wasn't the dancing type. Not to mention his council duties already had him busy on the night of the ball, though he still had to talk to the Headmaster about putting off his Prefect job that night.

"It's only just I.. I- know a couple of girls in my classes that have taken interest into you, so how about it, fancy dancing with an older woman?"

"Ah, I don't think I'd be a very good dance partner." He could feel his cheeks turn a light pink color as sheepishly scratched his cheek with a free finger. "Girls usually like taller guy too, right? I bet you've been asked by someone."

Finishing up his food, he stood up and took the last drink of tea left in his cup, though it had begun to go cold. "We should hurry up or Sera-san might show up and drag us out by our tails.", he said with a chuckle before rinsing his plate and placing it in the sink.

It only took a minute for the two of them to clean up and head downstairs, Teito stopping by his own dorm to drop off his school bag. Upon reaching the front doors though it was discovered that a storm had started to pour down, likely starting only a little while before the boys finished eating. Rain was never something that Teito was fond of. There was just something eerie about this type of weather, especially the way the stars would be covered by a blanket of darkness.

"I left my umbrella in the council room...and Matsuri borrowed my jacket..", he mumbled to himself. Though he could not see it himself, his eyes had now turned their light blue color. Anyone could say the rain was responsible for the color, which was likely the case this time. However even in the best of weather his eyes could change.

"Sorry, Xavier. I need to run to the council room, but I'll hurry back okay.", he said with an apologetic smile as he turned to the other Prefect. "By the way, I think Sera-san is hard on you because she cares about you, so you shouldn't worry." He then gave a small wave and left, falling into a quick jog but careful to watch his step so not to slip on any wet grass or mud. It wouldn't take him more than a few minutes to reach the classroom building, though his hair and clothes were already quite soaked room the heavy downpour. Hopefully the weather would discourage any vampires or day student from sneaking out.

"As the rain falls, everything is washed away."

Image

Standing outside in the rain Xavier thought back on what he and Teito had been discussing about. "Girls usually like taller guy too, right? I bet you've been asked by someone." He sighed to himself as the rain washed over him, drenching him to the bone; the school uniforms were useful at keeping out the cold or even being able to stay cool in the summer depending how one wore it but even with the jacket they were next to useless, but an umbrella couldn't hurt I suppose, he mused enjoying the sensation if the water rushing over and around him. He always found a downpour like the one tonight as refreshing, it cooled the air and brought a certain freshness back into it especially after a long dry spell but even so it was no use to merely stand around when he still had a job to do, so the prefect made his way around the Sun Dormitory, his pace a casual stroll as he made his way slowly.

As he circled the building, he scanned his surroundings lazily not believing that any of the day-class students would venture out into this weather even if the night-class were still on the prowl but he knew that Seraphine would punish him in some way if he made another mistake in the same day, a newbie to the whole vampire secret or not. As expected there wasn't a living soul out, not even the dedicated miss prefect herself, "By the way, I think Sera-san is hard on you because she cares about you, so you shouldn't worry." The thought popped up into his head as sudden as he dismissed it, "Yeah right, I don't think it's in her nature to care about anything but her duties." He said out loud and added. "But hell she is one hell of a worker." He mumbled, he didn't hold it against her he hardly held grudges against others but it was hard for him to work with someone who didn't show at least some interest outside of their job.

He was so deep in thought with the subject of Sera that he was completely oblivious to the open window until it was too late. Walking full speed, his face thudded with the surprisingly firm resistance of the hinged wood and glass waking him up from his concentration with another painful alarm. "Crap who left that opened?" He asked aloud, the fingers of his right hand coming up to the burning sensation of his lower lip, he prodded at the feeling and felt a stinging pain flare up as he did so. He held his fingers up and saw a faint speck of blood on the digits which was quickly washed off by the rain, damn busted my lip, he licked his lower lip and tasted the coppery tang of his ichor. He looked at the perpetrator at his injury and then began to see the larger picture, a large portion of the windows had been left open by someone, who? He couldn't say but all that he knew was that he'd have to sort the problem out by himself.

Not bothering with the doors that were halfway around the building, the drenched prefect vaulted through the window, not that it was graceful but no one was there to see this which he was grateful for. Once inside even though it was dark he could tell what the damage was, everything was soaked and even worst off than him, he grunted to himself as he thought of what he could do but gave up on anything more than turning the heaters on and closing the windows since there wasn't much he could do till the rooms were dry. He tried rolling up his sleeves but found out due to all the moisture they had soaked up they were unable to obtain their shape for long before falling down, he tried several times but with no avail so abandoned the idea and began to scrape up a pile of leaves that had managed to get themselves blown in all the while he hummed a tune to himself. After flinging out the leaves through the window he shut it tight and turned on the individual radiators and proceeded to repeat this for several other rooms.

After some time he was just finishing up the last of the rooms, having turned on the radiator before hand he was just closing the window when he noticed a lone figure walking in the rain, just when Inthought I was finished, with this thought he proceeded to vault once again through the window and into the rain, as he was just getting dried, making his way towards them. He was about to ask what they were doing out at a time like this and in this sort of weather when he heard, "Someone, give me a reason," come from their lips. "Sera?" The query sounded obscure in his head as he could tell who that voice belonged to no matter what but unlike the girl he had seen only hours before the person standing in front of him almost bared no resemblance to the proud and stoic prefect he knew.

What he could see was a defenceless and broken young woman and something inside of him clicked as he took off his jacket and wrapped it around her whilst also taking the umbrella off her, opening it up. "You're going to catch your death out here like this," he grabbed her hand gently and began to lead her toward the building, "Is everything alright? Where have you been? He questioned relentlessly, not giving the poor girl a chance as he opened a door leading into the main building for her. "Bloody hell, we need to get you dried off before you get sick." He was beginning to worry about his superior as he was unsure what to do, having never seen her in the state she was in but gave her a warm smile as the rain dripped off his frame, not wanting to seem as helpless as he felt. "So your place or mine? He joked trying to make light of the situation.

Drawing a deep breath from his cigarette and exhaling a cloud if smoke in return a man made his way towards Cross Academy, as the rain tried but failed to drench him, held back by the water proof leather of his clothing and hat; he walked with a confidence that came from years of experience and each step was carried out in a unusually methodical way. He passed the gate house giving the gatekeeper a slight nod and handed over a document which he pulled out from a satchel he was wearing only to be given it back after the other man had read what little it said, his eyes widening much to the disinterest of the stranger. After he had placed the document back into his satchel he began his unusual walk and headed over to the location of the headmaster, it took the tall man a few attempts to find the illusive Cross but eventually he found the frivolous character in a type of greenhouse filled with roses of all kind.

Unsmiling he gave the man a firm handshake and once agin produced the document again only with a letter stamped with the orders seal. "The Italian division of the order sent me over a few nights ago. They are beginning to doubt that the Japanese division motives and commitment to the cause so they sent me to monitor you and the school along with any activities of your sector." He shook his head, his hand coming up to sort out the eye patch that covered the remains of his left eye. "And also I'd like to make an enquiry on the progress of Xavier Kazoku."

"Slowly bringing down the barrier."

Image

Before he could wipe the smile of his face he felt a sharp and familiar pinch at his cheek. "There is still work to do. Classes has yet to be dismissed." Seraphines voice was just as it usually sounded and the towering prefect could not hear any signs of distress in it as he had seen her in but rather the same old cold and straight forward that you would hear any other day. Despite this being a regular occurrence due to the circumstance Xavier had been really taken aback at her harshness, I was just trying to help, the thought filled with as much hostility as was applied to his face which was level with hers as he was forced to bend over in her grip, his wet frame tensing as an uncommon anger started to build up inside of him, Sera was usually the kind of person he made it his rule to avoid in life and even at certain times to give them hell but he was trying his hardest to not merely tolerate her attitude on life, a rather bleak thing he often found but to like her and to make her like him; an almost impossible task he was beginning to feel due to many incidents like now.

"Go back to work, Xavier-san." She said moments after letting go of his cheek after what had felt like hours, he stepped back himself and rubbed his sore and slightly bruised cheek, his eyes betraying the smile he gave, showing a deep resentment for what had just happened, yeah you remove that stick and shove your work up that ar-, he stopped before finishing that rather vulgar thought as his caught Seraphines own orbs flicker with something, what it was he didn't get long enough of a chance to see but what ever it was it was still there and it seemed Xavier felt himself calming down over. "I'll be borrowing this for a while." The sentence sounded more of a matter of fact than a question but the prefect was still too annoyed to care, at least I can't get blamed for not wearing it, he thought casually as he started to walk away from the girl, even if she had finished speaking to him or not.

"Thank you, Xavier-san," He stopped and turned around at those three words, the subconscious twitch in his forehead at the honorific , "for reminding me." He couldn't believe at what he had heard but what he saw made his heart skipped a beat or even two. In all his time he had spent here at the academy, even it wasn't as long as some of the other students had been attending, he had never seen his senior smile at all. It was small and was gone as quickly as it had appeared but it made the usually dreary and strict looking girl; bright and something he had never thought of her in the time he had known her due to his dislike of her attitude, attractive. Slightly smitten he began to grin idiotically and gave her a small wave as she walked off, standing in the same spot as she disappeared from his view.

He stood there for several minutes longer, still in disbelief at everything that had occurred that night with Seraphina. Something had happened to the girl but he knew it would be something he never would find out from her so he pushed his attentions to what he was going to do with the rest of the night. Xavier was deciding to head back to his dorm since everything was quiet now even with the night class still out and about and if anything did happen Sera and Teito... Teito! He had been so occupied with the situation with the female prefect he had entirely forgotten about meeting back up with his little Teito-chan. It would be pointless to try and find him now but still he needed to find some way to make it up to him and he still had to make it up to Sera as well; he pondered what he could do as he made his way to the dorms, walking out hopefully his last time into the rain, he shivered now with the lack of his jacket as he was soaked to the bone for the third time, "I'm gonna catch a cold or something."

He had made up his mind what he was going to do for his fellow students, the only thing he could do well, cook as he made it to his room and opened the door. First though he stripped and got into the small shower he had in his equally small bathroom, after he washed himself quickly, his body warmed up from the water, once out and dried, he removed the wet clothes that had caused a patch on his carpet and placed them in a wash basket, after which he threw on some shorts and went into his kitchen. He immediately got to work retrieving the ingredients he needed for the meal he was going to make for them and did what he did best. With the smell of: back cut bacon, fried eggs, Yorkshire sausages, black pudding, mushrooms, fried onions, beans and fried bread filling his dorm, the undeclared master chef's mouth began to water uncontrollably, wishing he had made enough for himself as well but e could always make something after he had finished if there was anything left in the fridge.

When he had finished cooking, he plated the meals and wrapped them up, thinking to himself what drink would go well with the meals he had made. I got it!, he grinned at the conclusion he had come up with his head and went to a over head cupboard; rummaging at the back of it to find the package he needed, producing a box of chai tea, something which had cost him more than he had expected. He grabbed two thermal flasks he had been given by his mother the night he had left for the academy, placing a tea bag in each (it was almost impossible for him to find any authentic chai tea in Japan so he had to do with pre made bags) and waited for the kettle to boil; when everything was ready he made the exotic tea as milky as it was suppose to be but left the sugar for the others to add to their tastes.

By now it was getting close to dawn and he was sure the others would still be asleep, he picked up a shirt that was lying around and put it on and picked up his anti-vampire gun he was given on becoming a prefect something which he had forgotten to take with him earlier today, he was about to leave with the food and flasks in his hands when he thought he should leave a note for them, he placed everything carefully on the closest flat surface he could find before grabbing a note pad and a pen and wrote: Sorry about not catching back up to you Teito something else need my attention hope this makes up for it. Just heat everything up for about ten minutes. -Xavier He ripped the note out of the pad and placed it in one of the plates before writing another one. Listen Sera, I hope this perks you up, I won't mention about last night if you don't want to talk about it. Oh yeah just heat everything up for about ten minutes. -Xavier He proceeded to place this note on the other plate and headed for their recipients.

He made it to Teito's room without any incident even if he did spend some time trying to find it, placing the plate down infront of his door but placed the piece of paper under it as an attempt to make him notice it but as he was walking to Sera he crossed paths with someone's he did not recognise, turning around to get a second look at the stranger as something seemed off about him, his hand slipped behind his back were he had placed his gun but the stranger was gone before he had the chance to draw and cock it. Feeling on alert he slipped the plate down at the previously distraught girls door and made his way back to his room, keeping an eye and ear out for any signs of trouble but to no avail; once in he quickly collapsed onto his couch as an attempt to get some sleep in before needing to wake up for class.

He's making me a teacher? Un insegnante cazzo a un gruppo di vampiri?, the Italian cursed in his native language, the headmaster had always tried his patience but this was beginning to cross the line. He was going to tell Richard were he could shove that idea but was interrupted by the frivolous man on the subject of who the new comer was. "This is Takky, our gatekeeper!" Carth merely grunted at the man obviously nicknamed Takky, he was in too foul a mood to even give the man a proper greeting, he merely spat out the butt of his near extinguished cigarette, crushed it under foot and relit a new one, dragging deep on it. His mission was to watch the head of this ridiculous idea of peace between vampires of humans not teach a bunch of prey who he regarded little better than the ash of his cancer sticks, still the idea of being able to keep a closer eye on the bloodsuckers was enticing, he could keep them on a tight leash and give them the punishment they all deserved for existing.

He allowed the headmaster and the gatekeeper to conduct their conversation, keeping a note on what they said before interrupting the two men. "When do I start?" He asked casually, a rare grin, sly and what one could only say as a mixture of mischief and maliciousness betrayed his thoughts.

"Things are got to change around here."

Image

A shadow of smile appeared on the taller mans face, he hadn't expected this Takky to have matched him exactly but it still didn't change, Carth's dislike for the man it only made him realise he'd be having to keep an eye on this gatekeeper as long as he had business here. After the little confrontation they arrived at another section of the academy, on the outside it looked similar to the other buildings on ground but something told him that this was his new accommodation, what Takky said next confirmed his inclination. "And this is the teacher's dormitory. Whether you stay here or not is your choice." The building would make do for a base camp for the meantime, if he could find somewhere in the near future that would be better fitting for what his task asked for he would move there but for the mean time it would do for now.

As the two stood there, the hunter noticed a new sudden rush of activity as what seemed to be the end of classes for a bunch of students, no not students. Vampires. With his rather advanced eyesight Carth could tell the love of the two men was limited if not non existing amongst the beasts in human form; and the Huntsman found his hand reaching instinctually to his weapon that had been wrapped up and slung on his back to avoid problems with the human authority but as if the smaller man had read his thoughts, he stated. "As a reminder, any form of harm directed towards the students of this academy is strictly forbidden." With a grunt of annoyance, the Italian's hands came back down to his sides, stuffing themselves in the deep pockets of his jacket. "Don't worry your vampiri addomesticati amati are safe." And with that being said he turned his back on both the undead creatures of the night and the gatekeeper and headed into the dormitory calling back to the standing man without bothering to look at him. "But if any of them step out of line, then Signore Gatekeeper, neither man nor beast will stay my hand."

He was gone before the other man could reply, finding an empty dorm with relative ease and settled down into a large armchair after placing what little belongings he had down and fell asleep, his mental clock set for sun set.

"I'm late, I'm late for a very important date. She's gonna kill me!"

Image

Without any real reason, Xavier woke up all of a sudden. His head still cloudy from the blackout slumber, he stripped naked from the clothes he had worn the previous day and made his way to the shower passing a clock mounted on the wall and caught a passing glance at it, oh it's noon already, I must have had a good sleep, he thought with contempt as he jumped into the shower and began his morning routine and carried this out for several moment when realisation came into play, it was noon already, the night class will be coming out any moment, Seraphine would kill him if he was late or didn't show up! With this terrifying thought in his head, he kicked himself into overdrive, rushing his wash, he was out in a heart beat and began to throw on clothes, only spending less than a second with what he grabbed but halfway during this rushed session a slight bit of panic began to set in as he couldn't find his uniform jacket temporarily forgetting that he had lent it to a distraught Sera, the night before.

The incident suddenly came into his mind as his stressing brain recalled the moment. He was still sticking to what he had wrote on the note, he wouldn't say anything about that night unless she started the conversation first. Having thrown on the bare minimal that was often required to be allowed to walk in public without the risk of having the authority called to have you arrested, the slacker grabbed his prefect sash and the revolver that he was constantly being warned about not leaving it behind and barged through the door into the dormitory's corridors. Despite the obvious attraction of the Night Class 'parade' there were more than a few students heading back to their own dorms some were even from the boys classes. Oi Xavier-San, where were you today? You completely missed that surprise English exam!" One of the male students who he frequently spoke to berated, thank sleep for small mercies, he thought to himself, ignoring the fellow student as he concentrated on hopping down the corridors, trying to tie one of his trainers without falling over.

He had made it out of the building without falling which was hopefully, the joker hoped would be the first good thing of many for the rest of the day. "Uh, Kazoku-Sempai, c-could you please give this note to......" A girl from a lower year group asked nervously but in the hurry that he was in and with both hands focussing on buttoning up the shirt that he had picked up all he could do was yank the note out of the girls outstretched hands with his mouth, clamping down on the paper with his teeth. "Sure will do!" He replied, the words muffled as he spoke through clenched teeth. With the drawbridge in sight, Xavier was now working on his tie, a task he was having more trouble with as he failed time and time again to get it right as his rushed attempts looked like he simply had tied it like a shoelace, I'm going to make it! His hope was rekindling at this thought, maybe this day he wasn't going to screw up in Seraphine's eyes but with his mind and eyes diverted from looking where he was going, the prefect suddenly met something that at the current time was an immovable object and before he could see what he had hit, he landed on his backside more rougher than it liked.

He was about to say something but heard a sigh that stole any words he might have come up with. Standing in front of him was the man responsible for him still breathing today, the hunter Carth, the man was looking down at him with his remaining eye, a sort of bemused but criticising hybrid look, twinkled in that blue orb. The student was helped back up onto his feet by the mans powerful arms, his face going a pale shade of red at his embarrassment of being helped up like he was a mere toddler but this soon turned into a quizzical curiosity, the last time he had seen the man was when he had saved him and his sisters from the mad vampire, he hadn't even seen him when he got the letter saying he had been accepted into the academy which he hadn't applied for in the first place. "What are you doing here?" The student asked bluntly, there was no need for any tact with the man, he had learnt that from the short time he had met him. I'm here as the new ethics teacher for the night class, also I'm here to check up on you and mentor you when ever I have the time." It wasn't hard to hear the man's disgust for the vampires in his tone but this softened as it mentioned the other subject.

The last part had caught Xavier off guard, he had been told that he was in this school as a mean as test to see if he was capable of joining the organisation that Carth and Richard here part off but it all seemed like a far away problem to the student with his daily duties as a student and nightly duties as a prefect. "I'm down here right now though to get the latest intel on the.. Let's say, elitist a of the Night Class." Xavier nodded at this as they walked closer and closer to their destination, he wasn't so sure if he was the best to ask information from, Seraphine had been here much longer than himself and probably knew more important information on the vampires but he did know enough of what they got up to when they thought no one was looking to be of some use. They made it to their destination before the drawbridge had open, a good sign the tall prefect thought and he saw that his superior was already there as she always was. He raised his hand in a small wave at the girl, looking back at his mentor then back to Seraphine; feeling the need to introduce the two he announced. "Sera, this Carth, he'll be the Night Class' new Ethics Teacher," he leaned closer to the girl! lowering his voice, "This is the hunter who saved my life and put me here as a test." Despite this new distraction, the incident from last night was still lurking in his head and he had to bight his own tongue to stop himself mentioning it.
