Blair Ackerly's Story

Lorelei order a breaded chicken salad with broccoli and looked out the window and saw the people walked around and wondered where they were going and if they were happy or not. Some of the smiled and some were emotionless. She snapped out of her thoughts when he started talking. "Hm? Oh yeah, Loris was the one I lied to about my dad or something being the one he was about to set on fire. When he saw me again after you left he thought I was a homeless girl, but I had to tell him I was with Misha." She laughed softly. "He is a nice guy. He doesn't think I am weird when I write goodbye letters to the ones he is about to burn. I like to slip them in their hands so they can have something with them when they go." She said softly, looking down at her hands. "I know he goes out with them, he says sometimes it is fun, but Elise can be a handful. Even when she is drunk it is like she is herself times eighty... or so he says." She said and thought about him and smiled. "He is a nutball, but he helped me when you left so." She shrugged.

She looked up at him, "So... what about you and artist boy? You know, the one you scared for life?" She laughed softly. "There aren't anyone else?"


"Daddy is just a big ole tease." He shook his head. "You can't tease a lady like that and not go for the swing, Blair Bear." He joked. Loris though Blair was dense too, but you can't help all of them. His hand twitched when Elise made the comment about Loris. "One, she is just curious about the whole losing your virginity... or the process of it. Two, she isn't you. I don't even think she knows what she is doing." He could feel his blood boiling and rubbed his neck. "The girl is as innocent as they come. I don't even think you were born innocent, Elise." He stood and walked the door. "You two coming drinking or what?" He asked.

Adrian listened along about Loris. Part of Adrian didnt like that he seemed to be so close to Lorelei. He didnt want to feel possessive over her but he couldnt seem to stop it either. He perked back up when Lorelei talked about Elise, and then about his room mate. "Oh well Micah likes to wake me up in the middle of my life to discuss really weird stuff. One time he woke me up to ask me if I knew whether or not dogs get deja-vu or not. Or if they get songs stuck in their head like people do. He's pretty strange. I caught him drawing me while I slept one time. He said inspiration stuck and he just had to so I didnt question it really. He's pretty nice though, very bubbly for a man." Adrian said.

Elise blinked at Loris. "Oh I'm sorry I forget that normal people dont just do it because they can. But I already knew about her just being curious, Lorelei already asked me about if it hurt the first time.Said she was only curious because everyone around her was having babies....Ugh I wanna have a baby...Blair bear...?" She said and looked up at Blair batting her eyelashes at him and they walked with Loris to the bar. "No." Was all that Blair said. Elise pouted and looked over at Loris. "For your information, I was innocent like Lorelei once. Unfortunately life is just a lot more fun on the naughty side." She said with a smirk.

She smiled when he talked about his roommate. The waitress came with their food right as he stopped talking. She thanked her softly and began to ate she looked up at him, watching him eat, and smiled. "I am glad you are making a friend over there. I don't like thinking you are over there by yourself with no one. For the first week I felt this tightness in my chest because I was so worried. Being lonely sucks... and I don't want that for you." She said softly before taking another bite of her food.

Loris shook his head at the two. He opened the door and let the two walk in. "I have tasted it, El. Tasted quite a bit of it, remember." He smiled. He ordered himself a drink. "If you want a kid so damn badly get knocked up by your one your stands. Simple and easy. No need for that whole daddy stuff... unless it's Blair. He loves it when people call him that. I heard that Ivie girl pretends to be his daughter. Some kind of fetish you have there, Blair." He said before sipping his drink and smiling.

Adrian stared at his plate for a second before deciding to eat. He hadnt realized that she would worry about him getting lonely. He hadnt ever felt lonely before he met Lorelei, and then he only really felt that way when they were apart for a long while. "I'm glad you have the people at my work. I didnt want you to get lonely either..I'd be super unhappy if that happened." He said before taking another bite.

Elise sighed. "I dont know what you're talking about Loris. Not a clue." She said before ordering a drink. " I dont wanna end up like Ivy. I want like a normal life with a husband or something. But men who want to settle get so stale and boring...Same old moves, same boring note in the morning. Whats a girl gotta do to get some spice in her life." She said sipping on her drink.

Blair shook his head."You can take your weird made up fetish and shove it. I dont even think about Ivie in that way. We're just friends. Thats all we can be so i'm leaving it strictly at that. Ivie just thinks its funny because she's the size of a field mouse and can get away with it." He said stirring his drink around with his straw. "And you're one to talk about fetishes mister, you burn corpses for a living, i dont want to know what yo do in the bedroom. "Ohh but I do" Elise joked.

Lorelei smiled, "Well it is nice you worry about me." She finished her meal and dug in her purse for her wallet and took it out. She looked up at him and saw some sauce on the side of his mouth and had to sit on her legs so she could lean over and wipe the sauce with her thumb then she sucked it off her thumb. She could feel people staring now and she glanced to see some of the guys smirking at her. She looked away, "Sorry." She whispered.

"El, you will never have that. Like ever... just accept your playboy life." He said, sipping his drink. A girl came over and started talking to him. He smiled and talked to her for a bit before declining her over to go dance. He looked back at Blair, "That is all you can be? What is there some wall there?" He said and shook his head. "You are a damn fool, Blair." He said and downed his first drink.

Then he ordered another one, "All I do is sleep in my bedroom, because unlike you two, I like my sleep." He chuckled. "You know that deal I made with Lorelei, El? She was talking to me saying she wanted Adrian to be her first, but he wasn't into it. And told me she was going to ask me and some Rylie guy, but Adrian didn't want her to do it with this Rylie guy. So stupid me, feeling bad, said I would when she was eighteen." He sighed. "I am sure hoping those two work out."

Adrian nearly turned bright red when Lorelei wiped the sauce off the side of his mouth then sucked it off her finger, but he snapped out of it because the waitress came by with their check. Adrian handed her the money and told her to keep the change before Lorelei could pay and then led her out of the restaurant since the men in there were looking at her like she was food. Adrian sighed and looked around. "I dont know what else there is to do in the city this time of year...You wanna go back to the village?" He asked looking up at the sky.

Elise sighed and put her head on the bar. "Jeeze you're so mean Loris. If I'm not married by the time i'm twenty five you have to take responsibility for putting me down like this by marrying me and giving me as many children as I wasnt okay?" She said before sitting back up and finishing her drink. "You better not back out mister!" She mumbled leaning against his shoulder. "You better not touch Lorelei. She's a sweet girl and I'm sure Adrian will turn into a normal boy eventually....Well thats if she can manage to convince him that sex isnt completely unnecessary unless youre actively trying to have a baby. " She said with a sigh. "SO if you sleep in the bedroom...what do you do in the other rooms?" She said just after ordering another drink.

Blair shook his head. "Oi, thats what she said. She's made that abundantly clear that she doesnt need nor want a man in her life. She's got a kid anyways with some asshat so it would be complicated anyways. " Blair said with a sigh. He did like Ivie, and he didnt mind that she had a son. But she was always so stand offish if he got too close or flirted just a little too much. He didnt know how to handle all of that.

Lorelei followed him and stopped when he did so. "Yeah, that would be nice." She said softly. She led him back to the village. The sun was going down and she lights began to pop up down the street they were walking. They walked in silence, but she didn't mind. She could keep her thoughts clear and in order. Her favorite part of the whole trip was going over the bridge. When she would come into town while Adrian was away Lorelei would look over the railing. Sometimes she could see people, small specs, and sometimes she saw nothing at all. Now was one of those times that she leaned over the rail and looked. There was no one, but the way the light hit the trees made her smile.

Loris took a sip of his new drink and was about to say something when he saw Lorelei hand in hand with Adrian. He didn't say anything to Elise, afraid she might run out and cause a scene. He turned back to her, "One, I am not making that deal with you because I know the odds of me getting out of that is a slim chance. Plus it is bad enough I am stuck with you at work, no need to be stuck at home with you too." He smiled and patted her shoulder, "Also I do what any normal man does. I eat in one, read in another, shower in one, and one I guess is for storage." He said before thinking he needed to clean that room out sometime.

He then turned his attention to Blair, "She said that, huh? I mean she is like what eighteen, nineteen, twenty at the most? She has a kid with some asshat... I think maybe that is why she is so leary with dating the playboy of the town. She probably think you are just the same as the guy who knocked her up." He shrugged. "I met her a couple of times, she seems nice. Her kid must be cute too if he looks anything like her..." He smirked, "Or maybe I could give her a go if you aren't interested in her like that." He said before downing his drink.

Adrian walked along with Lorelei, looking around at the city he had gottan so used to. Things changed a lot in the city depending on the season, there was always some kind of city wide festival or flea market going on too which Adrian had learned to avoid getting lost in alone. They got to the bridge and Lorelei leaned over the railing, which put Adrian on edge for a second before he decided to look over the railing too. The way the light reflected in the water made the trees look really cool.

Elise sighed and shook her head. "But Loriisss. I'm not THAT bad...Am I?" She said looking up at him, She turned and say Lorelei and Adrian walk by holding hands. "Ugh, so young and happy." She said with a sigh. "Hey Blair bear...?" Blair finished his drink and shook his head. " Maybe if If im not married by the time i'm like thirty five. MAYBE. But still probably not even then." He said sternly. Elise puffer her cheeks out. "Awww you two are so mean to me." She pouted.

Blair looked over at Loris. "I mean, you could try if you really wanted to. She's pretty likely to kick your ass for trying though. She's tiny but she's terrifying. And I'm not a play boy damnit. I never intended to be one." He sighed. Elise giggled. "You kind of are, I mean you used to date a lot." She chimed in. "Well at least I didnt sleep with every attractive little thing that walked my way. Like SOMEONE I know." Blair teased. Elise gasped. "I didnt sleep with either of you, thank you very much." She said crossing her arms.

Lorelei smiled, "Sometimes I can see people. I am waiting one day for someone to look up and see me looking down at them." She said softly before hoping back and taking Adrian's hand and walking back to the village. She didn't take him home, but to the playground. "Sit." She commanded and pointed to the swing next to her.


Loris loomed over at Blair and sighed. "I don't want your woman, Blair. I like this one girl, but it wouldn't work out." He smiled before looking over at Elise. "You haven't slept with us because we refuse your survive, El." He sighed.

Adrian followed along with Lorelei and then stared at the swing for a second before following her command and sitting down on it, though he was mch too tall to actually be able to swing on such a short swing. "So demanding." He teased as he held onto the chains of the swing and leaned back, looking up at the sky.

Elise puffed her cheeks out. "Ugh why not though. I hear I'm pretty good at it. " She sighed. Blair just shook his head at her. "You need to settle the hell down missy." He said patting her head. Blair leaned back a little and smirked at Loris. "Oh you like a girl do you? Oh do tell, spill it Loris. Whats she like? Tell us all about her." He said before taking a sip of his drink. Elise nodded in agreement and stared at Loris intently, waiting for him to answer.

Lorelei smiled at him whole he watched the sky. It had gotten dark and the stars were out. She didn't need to look at the stars when her universe was right beside her. She swayed an bit and looked down at her hands. She had to ask him. It was now or never. "W-would you be my... first?" She whispered, her whole body felt like it blushed.


Loris looked down at his almost empty drink and smiled, "She's funny. Good hearted. Has the cutest laugh I ever fucking heard. She doesn't care that I burn bodies for a living. Oh and she is pretty smart. When she laughs her nose wrinkles." He said softly, clenching his cup when he realized he actually had feelings for her.

Adrian was just staring up at the sky when she asked him that question. He didnt get what she meant and first and his brow furrowed until he came to the sudden realization of what she was actually asking him. Adrian sat back up on the swing and stared at his feet for a minute. "If...Thats what you really want...Then I can. But only because its you." Adrian said quietly, not being able to look back over at Lorelei.

Elise smiled when Loris talked about the woman he liked. "Aww its so cute to see you like this Loris. Who is she? Maybe I can set up a date for you. I have lots and lots of girl friends maybe i know her." She said in a cheerful tone. Blaid just nodded along and stared at his drink. "Well she sounds lovely, whoever she is." He said softly.

Lorelei blushed and smiled at him. "Good, but we can do it whenever your good and ready. No rush. It can be a hundred years from now. I would still wait." She said softly and began to hum before getting up and dragging him to his feet so they could dance.


Loris shook his head. "Its no use." He smiled softly. "She is happy where we are at and I wouldn't want to lose her. Friend is better than nothing." He said be for finishing his drink and paying his tab. "Ahh that's enough of that. Imma head home." He said.

Adrian blushed. "A hundred years huh? I'm not even gonna live that long you know, thats extra absurd." He said as he danced with her. He wasnt sure why they were dancing in a part, at night. But he didnt mind it, especially since she started humming and her voice was so pretty that everything else faded away for a little bit.

"Awwww....You're friends huh...who the hell are you friends with...Theres me..and Blair, and Misha, and Lorelei...She doesnt mind what you do in the crematory....Ohh my lord I swear to god if its Lorelei you weird monkey. " Elise was just joking but Blair had realized it probably really was Lorelei judging by the description. "She's sixteen and Adrians girlfriend. But also sixteen, dont make me arrest you Loris, I like getting drinks with you. Gives Elise someone else to pine after. " He said with a wink before paying for his drinks and then Elise paid for hers. "Alright drunky, lets get you home." He said to the giggly Elise. "Are you gonna tuck me in and leave again?" She asked, a big smile on her face. "Yes. I'm tucking you in and going home. No shenanigans." He said sternly. Elise sighed and said "Fiiiiiine...See you at work Loris!" She said as she disappeared out the door. "See ya Loris" Blair said as he walked out too.

They danced while she hummed for a while before stopping and looking up at him. "Well maybe not a hundred... more like eighty." She smiled and poked his belly. "Misha said he would work on getting my pass tomorrow." Her eyes lit up. "So I may pay you a visit... or maybe the ocean. Probably just the ocean and the lab over there." She smirked, teasing him. Lorelei would of course see Adrian first, she hoped she could see him while he taught. She always had to teach him... it would be nice to learn from him for once.


Loris didn't look at them, "I said we were just friends and I know she is sixteen..." He sighed and walked out with them. "You two better make babies if you aren't going to with that Ivie girl." He called out to them and walked down the opposite street. He ran his fingers through his hair and sighed. Loris knew he had to get himself set straight again. Adrian was scary as all hell and he didn't want to bring tension and drama to Lorelei. She didn't deserve that.

"Oh eighty years then. I'm not so sure its gonna take that long. Maybe like...fifty or so." He joked, well mostly anyways. "Oh so you're gonna come visit the Ocean huh? Well that sounds fun. You can go see the palm trees and the pure white sand. Its pretty cool but I'd be pretty mad if you went without me, so you better invite me along." He said with a chuckle.

Blair shook his head and looked down at Elise who was clinging to his arm. "I said no babies." He said and she just smiled up at him. "Oi I said no." He said again. Elise giggled. "Alright, alright, I know, no babies. You're just making sure I get home safe like a good boy." She said as he walked her back to her apartment before saying goodbye and going home himself and looking over case files before passing out.

She swayed away from him and swirled around the pole holding the swings. "Ehh... I will think about it." She smirked, joking of course. "I need to get one of those floatie things so I can drift in the water and make Misha cry his magical tears." Lorelei laughed softly. She stopped twirling and stretched before bending down and poking an insect. "I feel like I am this insect and you are that tree." She said softly pointing at the tree. "You are so tall..."

Adrian walked into the lab and joined Blair and Elise at the front desk while watching Lorelei run off to the crematory. Elise smiled up at him with a devious grin. "Morning Adrian~ Misha came by earlier looking for you. Said you never went back to the house." She said. "No, I spent the night at Lorelei's" Adrian stated plainly. Elise looked mildly surprised. "Oh you did, did you? Anything fun happen?" She asked leaning on the desk. Blair raised an eyebrow at Adrian. "Not particularly. We got caught in the storm and Lorelei tried to attack my belly button." Adrian said as he rummaged through Blair's candy bucket.

"She tried to attack your belly button...?" Blair said with a confused look on his face. Adrian nodded before popping a caramel in his mouth. Elise shook her head. "Aww only innocent fun then, how boring. I was hoping for some juicy details about your first night together." She sighed. Adrian blinked. "It wasnt the first time ive spent the night there. I'm staying over there for the rest of my visit too, Lorelei asked me to." He said, continuing to rummage through the candy. Elise and Blair both looked a little shocked and confused. "And Misha...Is cool with that?" Blair asked. "He didnt say much about it." Adrian said softly. Blair and Misha exchanged looks and both made a "huh..." noise.

"If it was that simple I would be with her right now." He said. Lorelei watched the bodies go into the fire and frowned a bit. She wanted to give this speech about life and death. About he doesn't have time to diddle daddle on with life with him being so old. Lorelei looked up at him, he had been staring at her. She blushed. "Look, Loris. You are pretty old." He gasped and covered his heart dramatically.

"You... you think I am old?" He said trying to sound offended.

She laughed, "A bit... I mean you are almost thirty. You have no wife. No kids. You work burning dead people to ash. I mean... oh and you go drinking with Blair and Elise. Is that all you want from life. I mean... I can talk because I am only sixteen. I have my whole life a head of me." She smiled up at him.

He growled playful and flicked her nose softly. She laughed and scooted back from him. "Maybe I am happy where I am. Maybe I like going home to an empty house. Relationships are a lot of work you know?" He said rubbing the back of his neck.

"Yeah... I know, but I am just making sure you don't regret anything." She said softly.

He frowned a bit, "Baby girl, no need to worry about little old me. I have come to terms with the cards I have been dealt." He smiled up at her. "Now shouldn't you go up and meet Adrian?" He asked.

She shook her head, "No... I don't want to hog him. He only has a week. He needs to spend time with everyone." She said simply.

"So can you tell me about this girl you are falling in love with?" She asked.

He about dropped his stuff. Lorelei tilted her head, "Well... she is nice and a sweetheart. She is a good listener and loves a good joke. Her laugh is the cutest and she is pretty smart. I love her company more than anything. I love the way she is just so full of life." Loris was getting caught up in it and had to stop himself.

"She sounds lovely! Aw, Loris... come on. Try with her. Make a move! I know when right before Adrian kissed me for the first time I felt like I really wanted him too... maybe she wants you to kiss her. Maybe she is waiting for you to make the first move, you butt." She said trying to kick at him, but her legs were too short.

He laughed and patted her foot. "No can do, kiddo. She doesn't even like me like that and she is seeing someone. So I can't just up and kiss her."

Lorelei's heart dropped, "That bitch, can't she see how much you love her?" She asked.

Loris smile softened, "Apparently not."

Adrian sat in Elise's spinny chair and rolled around the front entrance of the building for a good little bit before he kicked off too hard and sent himself flying into the wall. Elise and Blair burst out laughing at him as he got up from the floor and put her chair back up right. Elise giggled and looked him over"You didnt hurt yourself did you? We can always get Lorelei to doctor you if you did. " She said with a wink. Adrian just blinked at her. "Whats wink worthy abouta doctor being a doctor...?" He asked. Blair groaned. "Dear lord youre clueless Adrian..." He said shaking his head. "What are you talking about..." Adrian mumbled. "I wonder how Lor is doing with getting Elise a date with Loris..." He thought out loud. Blair started laughing. "You know its bad when those two are trying to set you up Elise!" He said trying not to laugh too much. Elise just pouted about it. "Jeez guys..." She sighed.
