Filarion Keavaris's Story

The sun doesn’t get the chance to wake up first when it comes to Filarion and his daughter Roshia. Both are up a good bit before it does and have a special routine they like to do. Each like to stretch, look over the house, and make breakfast. Though for Filarion he likes to check on the rest of the children that live there and makes a bigger breakfast. Roshia makes enough for herself and maybe her two brothers, Nasir and Elwin, though Nasir only comes when Ameria is home by the time Nasir decides to leave his home early enough.

The next to wake up is Penelo and Ameria. Both ladies have a quick meal before they are out the door. They go down to the dock and mediate, something they have been doing since America was a child. Next is everyone else, though Nasir usually is up, but just lays in bed staring at the ceiling wondering what the hell he is doing with his life and if he will be remembered if he left this world. Dark thoughts for such a solitude man.

Now all the family is up and it is time for them to begin the day.

(We are going to be doing a short time skip as bizarre 1 is no longer active and I can not reach them)

Ofelia waited until river had finished up with the foreign man's needs and then reserved her customers a room for the requested dates. She said thank you and bowed to both river and the man she had just met and bid them farewell. She then began her rather long walk back to he dragon ranch to tend to the small dragons and hatchlings​.

When Ofelia arrived in the dragon nursery she found that one of the young dragons had completely destroyed her table and chairs. She sighed deeply and scooped the culprit up. " I guess it's time for you to join the adolescents..You little trouble maker!" Ofelia chuckled slightly at the goat sized dragon she was carrying. She took him out to the pasture he kept the adolescent dragons in, and after checking for aggressive behavior from any of them, she shut the gate and began walking the property line between her farm and the neighboring families land. " I suppose I will have to order a new set of chairs and a table soon.." she shook her head.

Ofelia continued to walk the property line, looking for any dragons that might have crossed into her neighbor's land, as it had happened before and was not a pleasant deal.

Ofelia walked along singing to herself an old elvish song her father had taught her. Few people had heard Ofelia sing, but she had a sweet calming tone. Ofelia's mother was known for her beautiful singing, and her voice was one of the few things Ofelia had inherited from her.

She walked along until she heard some rustling, and then, the sound of someone chopping wood. Ofelia peeked around some trees to find a man from the neighboring family, cutting down a thick tree. She paused for a moment and looked him over. 'Must be Nasir? I had heard he makes beautiful furniture..I haven't seen him since we were both small. He looks well.' She thought to herself. She hesitated to call out to him at first. Their fathers had not been on great terms since the dragon disaster that had happened when they were young. But, Ofelia thought it might be time to forget that and work together once again.

She stepped forward, into plain view, careful not to cross the property line. "Hello? You're Nasir, right? Do you remember me? I'm Ofelia Taryn..." She spoke out stepping further into the sunlight as she did. The sun glimmered off of her pale blonde hair as she bowed slightly to the man. "It's nice to see you again...Would you be interested in building something for me? I have heard wonderful things about your work." She stated as she stood up straight, her face slightly flushed. She wasn't used to talking to men alone, let alone asking anyone for anything. She found herself a tad nervous as she waited for a reply.

Nasir watched the big beast, he seemed gently and obedient. "I see, you did good. Ofelia, thanks. My sister, Roshia, she has a pet dragon she got from your farm. She and him are always together. Roshia loved him to death and vis versa. The story is Cossie, the nickname she gave him, chose her instead of her choosing him. He obeys her like this one obeys you. Funny how she can bond with such an animal. Same with Ameria, both can bond with animals so easily." He spoke as he dragged the log away from the dragon and closer to Roshia's house. I wonder how father is taking it? Did Roshia get to him yet? She is a fast runner, her long legs look delicate but are tough and strong.

Just as he dropped the log near the closets tree next to Roshia's house he saw a flash of curly hair run by him. It was Agis, Guess the kid didn't see me, usually he would stop frozen in place. Still don't know what the hell I did to the kid.

"Oh my gosh, it is a big dragon!" Agis screamed in excitement as he stopped right in front of it. "Can I pet him? My sisters let me pet theirs. Is he nice? He looks nice. Oh boy, I wonder if father would get me one big like this! Can he do any tricks? Agis rambled off questions as fast as he could think them. His curly red hair flopped around as he hopped from one foot to the next. He really wanted to pet the dragon.

"Agis, step away from that dragon." A deep voice that shook even Nasir came from the side house. Nasir turned to see his father walking over. "You have no idea what the temperament of that beast is. At least make sure he likes kids." His father walked past Nasir, paying him no mind, and towards Ofelia and Agis. Roshia walked behind him, staying by her house as she watched their father. She didn't even look at him. "Long time since I have seen you, Ofelia. You have grown well. Look just like you mother. I want to thank you for your service. I also heard you got hurt by one of my sons." His father looked back at him. "Lorelei will see to your wounds." His father smiled, something Nasir had yet to manage to make look right.

" Well I'm glad to hear they bonded so we'll!" Ofelia managed to say before a flash of curly red hair zoomed into view, bouncing around at hyper speed. " He is friend ly, and he loves kids. You can pet him." She said to the young boy. He motioned the dragon to lay down, and he did so immediately. Fleurdon gave a friendly chuff at the small child. " Im sure he'll do some tricks for you if you ask nicely, just keep clear of the tail"

Ofelia's attention snapped to Filarion, she remembered him from her childhood, as he was friendly with her father. She listened to him speak then said " Thank you sir. I'm afraid it was my own lapse in common knowledge that lead to my injury, if anything Nasir saved me from death via getting squished by a tree!. And for that I am truly thankful. " She spoke softly.

"Either way, I would feel better if you went see her." With that he did a small bow, "it was nice seeing you. Hope to see you around." His father said before leaving them. He passed Roshia and Nasir, glancing their way, and made his way towards the fields. Agis patted the dragon and laughed while everyone watched his father go. Nasir shifted, looking at Roshia, but she started to walk off the opposite way.

"Sorry about that, you think your dragon would okay to stay here? Agis could watch over him, right?" He asked. Agis froze a little bit before nodding.

"Yeah, s-sure." Agis spoke lowly while petting the dragon.

Roshia watched as her father walked up to the girl. She had no idea what was going to happen, so she stood on edge. She could feel Nasir watching her, but she paid no mind to him. She didn't feel like talking to him right now. When her father treated Ofelia with kindness she got a tad bit bored, but understood that there was no need for roughness. If anything the girl had gone through enough today with being thrown into a thorn bush.

She left when her father did, but went into her house. She wasn't needed so she didn't feel like staying, though she did watch from the window. Is she the reason he didn't come for breakfast today? Are they courting? It is about time he gets a wife and start on a family. Father has been a little concern that he would end up alone, but he has his family so how is he alone? She thought as she watched her little brother, Agis, freeze. Agis was scared of Nasir because he was always quiet and had a stern face on for most of the time. They never did get to spend time together, so Agis doesn't know how to approach him. "Poor, kid." She laughed before moving from the window. She had things to do, watching over Nasir wasn't going to help her any.

Ofelia smiled as Agis played with her dragon. "Sorry about that, you think your dragon would okay to stay here? Agis could watch over him, right?" She listened as Nasir spoke to his younger brother. "Yes, he will be fine here." Ofelia said and then wandered back over to the large dragon. "You hear that Fleurdon? You're gonna stay here with your new buddy, ok? You be a good boy and listen to him." She said then turned to Agis, kneeling down to his level. "If he gives you any grief just tell him to 'stand down' He will listen to that." She said as she gave the young boy a smile. "Oh by the way, he loooooves when you pet his chin fur! Puts him right to sleep!" She told Agis with a giggle. She stood back up and turned back to Nasir, who seemed to be staring off watching what seemed to be one of his sisters. But she paid it no mind. "Alright, lets get going shall we? I'd like to get this over with as I have business to discuss with you anyways" Ofelia said as she walked back over to Nasirs side, she paused to look back at the dragon, giving him a stern look as if saying 'you better behave' then turned and smiled warmly at Nasir as she waited for him to show her the way to his sisters home.

Elwin looked up at Atlas when he spoke, "No offense taken. She was actually... friendlier than she has ever been with people, especially with people around me." He laughed. "But she is hiding something, I can feel it. That is probably why she got rid of us so fast." They walked towards the front of the village where his parent's house was. It was quiet except for the two talking and the sounds of wildlife. The lights were on when they arrived, which was a good thing for them. He was happy that Atlas hadn't come for no reason, though he had a basket of fresh eggs to take home.

Elwin knocked on the door. He could hear Agis screaming someone was here and Beluar telling him to use his quiet voice and that they were right there. A familiar laugh weaved in among the chaos, his mother's. His father was the one to answer the door, "Oh Elwin, what a nice surprise and you brought a friend, come in." He stepped aside and let the two in. Agis creeped up to see what was going on, but his younger sister and brother weren't bothered once they saw who was here.

His mother came up, "Oh dear, who is this lovely man? Hi I am Penelo. This here is my husband, Filarion and those three over there is Beluar, Lorelei, and Agis." She pointed to everyone, including herself.

Elwin stood there a little awkward, "This is Atlas, he owns a really nice cafe in the city and was wondering if he could talk business with father."

His father looked the man over, "Of course, let's sit at the table and discuss." He said before walking to the table and sitting. Elwin following and sitting himself.

Atlas felt nervous upon reaching Elwin's parents home. He could hear children inside a woman laughing and managed to calm his nerves. The woman of the home, who Atlas had guessed was Elwins mother, introduced everyone. Then Elwin introduced Atlas. "I's a pleasure to meet you all, pardon me for the sudden intrusion." He said, he saw a young boy peering at him and gave him a smile and a small wave. Atlas followed Elwin to the table and took a seat. "Elwin tells me that you grow fresh produce and raise livestock, I was wondering if could strike up a deal? Currently I get my produce from a source off of Veritas Isle, and by the time it gets here I have to throw out what is broken, bruised up, or no longer fresh, so basically by the time it gets to me half of what ive paid for is pretty much garbage. But now that i know that your family is here I hoping that I could buy the produce needed for the cafe from you. I'll haul it to the cafe myself of course and on top of the payment received for the produce I would like to throw in a discount for anything in the cafe, for the entire family." Atlas explained. He seriously hoped they could settle on an agreement, as he always strives to only use the freshest and most local ingredients he could, and now he would finally have the chance to.

Elwin watched as Atlas talked, he was a businessman after all. His father was resting his elbows on the table and his chin on his fist. He could tell that his father was listening contently, a serious look on his face. He finally nodded when Atlas was done. "Sounds like a deal, though I see you have some of our eggs. Why don't you come by once you have tried them and bring a list of the things you need." Elwin said nothing the whole time, he just watched contently as they talked. He had seen his father do deals so many times in his life that when it was his turn to make a living he could make deals in his sleep.

"I will definitely do that sir, I should return within a day or two to provide a list of needed ingredients and we can talk about arrangements for pick up and price then once you have an idea of what I would be needing to purchase in bulk." Atlas said with a smile and a nod. "I'm sure the eggs are wonderful though, the look perfect." Atlas saw the young boy looking at them from the corner of his eye. "Perhaps I will bring cake the next time I visit, put these eggs to good use!" He said and then thought about what kind of cake to make. "I dont suppose you all have a favorite kind of cake, do you?" He asked.

Elwin listened to the conversation, watching Agis watch them. "Sounds good, if you will excuse me it is time for bed, for me at least. Oh and any cake is good cake." His father laughed before bowing slightly and leaving the room. Agis came in then, "I like chocolate, but Beluar likes lemon. Everyone else just likes cake. He was smiling big now. Elwin rolled his eyes, smiling. Atlas had just became best friends with his little brother. He fitting in with them already.

"It was a pleasure to meet you sir, i look forward to doing business with you" He said with a small bow before Filarion disappeared into the other room. Atlas chuckled at the young man who then spoke up about the cake. "Oh you like chocolate, do you?..Me too! And when youre a baker, like me you get to eat all the chocolate you can stomach!" He laughed a little. " How about this, when I come back, I'll bring everyone their own mini cake, that way everyone gets something they like. I'll make yours extra chocolatey" He said the the small boy, watching his eyes get huge. Atlas adored children, though he didnt spend much time around them as he had none of his own and his sister didnt plan on having children. Children always seemed amazed by the most simple things, a quality adults seemed to lack. Atlas was truly envious of that quality.

Atlas had been busy all morning packing up and decorating different cookies and other small treats and pre-making any syrups he needed for drinks for the festival. Atlas wouldnt be working the booth though, he had planned on going to the Festival with Elwin, who he had been spending a lot more time with in the past few weeks. He finished packing things up and writing out a list for his store manager to look over before loading up A large paper bag with treats that he had made to bring Elwins family at the village when he planned on surprising Elwin with a visit, and coffee of course. He took the treats and walked down to the village with them, knocking on Elwins parents door first to deliver the cookies and say hello to everyone since it had been about a week since he had been able to visit due to a busy week at the Cafe preparing for the festival.

Roshia had woken up early due to being nervous. She was going to tell Nasir while they walked to the festival. It was a good time because they were going to be alone for some time. She got ready was walking out when saw Nasir standing by her door "Morning Nasir, how did you sleep?" She asked, running her fingers over the necklace he gave her. She always wore it, she still loved him, she just couldn't love him the way she wanted to.

Nasir held out his arm for her and she held it, "I am doing well and yourself? I heard the news that you will be getting married. Congratulations. Rowan is one lucky guy."[/b] He spoke so openly. She loved it. Roshia knew that Nasir and Elwin were hanging out more and she enjoyed knowing so.

"Thank you. I have seen you talking a lot with Ofelia, are you two courting yet?" She asked, looking up at him.

"Not yet, I am waiting on a good time to ask her." He said, looking up at the sky.

They had just gotten out of the village and nearing the lake when she stopped him, "Look Nasir, we have to talk." He looked at her, worried. She took a deep breath, "I am pregnant and I wish I could leave it at that, but...I also slept with Rowan after having a few too many drinks just a few days after you and I don't know who the father is. Rowan suggested we get married. He is willing to take on me and a kid that might not be his, but... I want you in this kid's life. If it looks like you... I want them to know that you are their father. I am so sorry, Nasir. No one can know that we did anything, you know father. I don't want him to disown our kid if it is ours." Nasir listened to her with disturbing her.

"This is hard, Roshia." He walked away from her a little. He didn't know what to do, but he understood what needed to be done. She was starting to tear up. He walked back up to her and lifted her chin, "I understand fully what needs to be done. I will do it, but let them know when they are old enough, that is all I ask."

She smiled, hugging him tightly. "Thank you. You deserve the best of the best." He shook his head, smiling and held out his arm for her to hold. She did so and walked with him the rest of the way.

They got to their father's booth where he was setting up. "My girl, congratulations on the marriage and to Rowan Todd!

People looked at them, some annoyed with the news, "Shh, dad not so loud, but thanks." He was all smiles at the news. She hadn't seen him this happy since Agis' birth.

Roshia and Elwin got ready, the band had begun to play. Roshia slowly walked down the aisle, like any other bride would do. She felt nervous and like she was going to puke again. She looked around, all eyes on her, but then her eyes landed on Rowan and she wanted to laugh, because it was just like him to look over the top Mr. Fancy. Elwin helped her, holding the train so it wouldn't completely drag the ground. He smiled, looking at everyone, but landed his eyes on Atlas. He was worried. They got to the front and Elwin hurried to Atlas. Roshia smiled and took Rowan's hands, her's shaking. They said their vows, slipped rings on, and kissed. Roshia was a mess. She hadn't really actually kissed Rowan since that god awful night or good night... she really couldn't remember the details. Everyone cheered and walked with them back to the village to celebrate.

Rowan couldnt believe he had just gotten married, but he was happy, he married a lovely woman who was unbelievably beautiful in her gown. He was genuinely happy. He held Roshias hand as they walked "You look absolutely beautiful, the dress really suits you." He said to her as they walked. Rowans parents ran up and congratulated the two, Rowan's mother completely gushing about the wedding dress and the beautiful hair piece. Rowans dad was nearly knocking Rowan over with proud pats on the back. "I'm sorry about them, You'll get used to it...theyre just uh..a little eccentric sometimes" Rowan said rubbing the back of his head after they wandered off to chat with Roshias parents.

Roshia was glad that part was over now she just had to hide the pregnancy for a few weeks. Couldn't be that hard right? She met his parents and loved how happy go they were. She only ever met the Mayor once, so it was nice not to have to feel so formal around them. His mother was precious and reminded her of her own. Her parents came walking up, well her father did, her mother ran. She congratulated them and so did everyone that was there. When the party started to settle down she pulled Rowan to the side. "So uhm, congrats on getting married. You did great up there, didn't look too nervous. Just a little pale." She laughed softly. "Also want to thank you for the gift. It is beautiful. I appreciate it and you doing this. You are a great man and I love that about you." She blushed.

The wedding was beautiful and he wished he could have been one hundred percent there, but he was so worried about Atlas.
He had zoned out once it started. He knew what something was going on and he was hiding it from him, which he said he wouldn't keep things from him. Once the wedding was over Elwin grabbed Atlas' hand and dragged him off into the trees away from the village. "Atlas, please tell me what is going on. You are zoning out... what is keeping you away?" He asked.

Lorelei had been in the middle of looking over a specimen when she heard the frantic knocks and Ofelia screaming saying that there was an emergency with Nasir. She hurried out the door and saw him almost dead on the dragon. She had to calm down herself before looking around. "I am going to need help getting him off the dragon, hold on." She ran to get her father and Beluar then ran into Roshia's house and begged Elwin to come help with getting Nasir into her lab and that he was in critical condition. Elwin scrambled out the door and Roshia followed. They got him off the dragon and onto a cot in her lab. She took off his shirt and everyone except her father gasped.

Once Lorelei started to work on him Roshia turned to Ofelia and dragged her out, "What the hell happened?" It was clear that she was pissed. Elwin had walked out now and held her arm, "Calm down, Roshia. You don't need to put any strain on your body. It could have been an accident... and she could have been the one to save him. Don't rip her head off before knowing the story." Roshia glared at him, relaxing a bit. He was right after all. She needed to calm down for her unborn child, but she couldn't stop the tears.

Ofelia didnt want to talk, especially to Roshia. She wanted to go home, curl up and pretend nothing ever happened. She was expecting Roshia to immediately chew her head off, but Elwin stopped her."We were in the forest off the island and this cat...thing..attacked us..It made the ground rumble like thunder..Nasir tried to fight it off but it threw him into a wall with its tail and..." Ofelia didnt say anything else, her hands still trembling. "I brought him here as fast as the dragon could fly...I'm sorry.." She mumbled turning towards her dragon. She wanted to run away. All of this was her fault.
