| Name: Isla Cover | Age: 19 | Gender: Female | Sexuality: Straight| Height: 4'6" | Weight: 70 lbs
| Race/Species: Dwarf | Hair Colour: Red | Eye Colour: Aqua Blue
| Skin Colour: Light Tan| Trade: -

Image

ImageAppearance:
Petite and small, Isla stands at four feet and six inches. She weighs seventy pounds and has a slim yet curvy body. There are no tattoos but she has a scar on her bikini line where she had her son removed. Her skin is a light tan with a sprinkle of freckles across her cheeks and nose.

Normally you can see her in girly and frilly things.

Personality:
Isla isn't one to really go out of her way to get to know someone and has been like that for almost two years now. If someone takes the time and hangs out with her long enough she will warm up enough to them to go out of her way for them.

Despite her being introverted, she does like to talk to people, finding it hard to be in her head for too long. For a while, she kept to herself and was overrun by fear that she was going to be taken again or something would happen to her son. She has become a bit more courageous after time.

Isla likes to paint, though she isn't as good as some professional artist and refuses to sell any of them. She enjoys reading when she can and sewing. Thanks to helping her father sew nets she took interest in sewing clothes and now usually she makes her own. Her passion though is fish. She knows all about different kids of fish, but mostly the ones people keep as pets.

Image

History:
  • Isla was born on a small island off the coast of the kingdom down below to Calder and Noelani.
  • She is the only child of her family, having been raised in a fishing family and money being tight and her mother dying when she was only four.
  • Isla's childhood was that of a normal Islander child. She had her friends that she would hang out with. She would play in the ocean and swim with the fishes and play in the forest.
  • At the age of seven Isla began her interest in fishes. She would get all kinds of books on them and had a large fish tank in her home that was filled with different kind of fish. When her friends would come over she would tell them all about each one.
  • As she got older she started to shift her sights from fish to guys. Her friends had started to date and Isla found she wanted to try it out. She dated a couple of guys from the island when she realized she just wasn't into her childhood friends like that.
  • Isla felt bad for living under her father's roof and not bringing in money so she got a job with the local aquarium on the island. It was good pay and she was still able to hang out with her friends at the end of the day.
  • One night she went to a beach bonfire with friends and met a man by the name of Dover. He was handsome and charming and Isla fell hard. By the end of summer, she had been smitten and would do anything for him. He talked her into leaving with him and she realized it was a big mistake.
  • Dover was a worker in the black market and his job was to get a girl and bring her to the Big Boss. During that time she, every night, she was taken by Dover against her will.
  • There was a girl named, Talila, who was taken from the islands and protected by her own captor from getting taken by the men. He had wanted her in prime shape so he could get more money when he gave her over. They became friends during that time and she was a big help.
  • They were bought and saved by a man called, James Silverson. He had made sure they were back home and safe, even having a sum of money for their time with these guys. He wanted them to know that he was sorry for them having to deal with that kind of shit.
  • When Isla got back home she had never seen her father so broken. Not long after being home she found out she was pregnant and her heart dropped. She knew exactly who it was for. Her father and friends told her to get rid of it, that it wouldn't be right to have that monster's child, but she just couldn't. Her baby had no choice in the matter of being made and she wasn't about to end its life because of Dover. He took enough of her and he wasn't about to have her baby too.
  • When she had her baby and found out it was a boy she knew who to name it after. She named her son James after the man who had saved her.
  • Her father died right when James was only eight months old and Isla decided to sell her father's boat and house. A month later she took all she had and set out to find her friend from the darkest part of her life and to spend her life on the floating islands.

The woman smiled, "First time." She said softly and followed him. Isla about clapped with joy when this woman got him out from the front. She scooped the puppy up and giggled. "I like her." She whispered to him. When they got to the back she gasped, "Oh gosh, they are all adorable. How do you not take them home?" She asked and laughed softly. "Aww my heart." She said softly and looked up at him.

Vlora laughed a bit, "Aww what? Mysterious is so hot though. Mmm but I have to admit I get to see your handsome face better with the nasty sun out." She smiled. When he said she looked less intimidating she giggled and shook her head, "Damn... that's not good at all. Thank you for letting me know." She said and looked up at him. "I am glad to hear you survived the rest of the night without me." She said and Vlora smiled more at his comment about being asleep to save more defenseless lawyers. "Ha... kind of... I had to ask my boss a few things about schools around here and whatnot. I have a thirteen-year-old niece back at home and... long story short she is living with her father and I and we are new here so... what are you doing out and about? Don't you have court cases to look over and attend? Or is that not what lawyers do?" She asked with a smirk.

Rhyanid took the woman into the back room where the kittens and puppies were, laughing a little at her reaction. "The shop is like my second home, so in a way, I've already taken them all home," he joked with a grin. "So, is there anything specific you're looking for in terms of personality? Some of them are really energetic and playful, others are a bit timid and shy, and some of them have been pretty lazy and relaxed so far," he told her. "For a first-time cat owner a more laid-back and independent kitten would probably be the best bet, but they're still quite young so their personalities are susceptible to change."

Bastian smiled a bit as Vlora told her jokes. He wasn't one for joking around but she made it look cute. "Ah, a thirteen-year-old? I've heard that's a tricky age," he said, shaking his head a bit. When she asked what he was doing out and about, he smiled. "As much as I'd rather be working right now, there's a charity ball coming up on the island and my attendance is, quite unfortunately, requested. Suit shopping is on the agenda for today," he explained.

The woman looked over at him and laughed a bit, "I guess that would mean you did take them all in." She said softly and moved her hair out of her face. "Hmm yeah, more laid back and chill sounds like something I am looking for." She said. This man was handsome as hell and he seemed like he was cool and chilled. Maybe when she got her kitten he would go on a small date with her.

Vlora smiled and shrugged a bit, "She is a good girl, thankfully. A book and the view of the lake makes her happy." She said softly. He was such a good looking man, but the fact that he called her out on his own made her feel giddy. She was going to have fun being this man's friend. "What? You rather be working than playing dress up? Oh gosh, very serious about these cases. Tis." She smirked. "Well I am sure you will look very sharp in whatever you wear, I am sure. Lucky for me I haven't been to such things." Vlora said. She wondered how this man was single and then she thought of how kind of bland he was, but he was fucking adorable. She wouldn't ever date him, of course, since they were two opposite people.

Rhyanid chuckled a bit at her comment and then nodded when she said that a more laidback and chill kitten was what she was looking for. "Well, then, there are a few very relaxed options here," he said. Sadie was eyeing them from her cushion but she knew that Rhyanid was busy with a customer and that she couldn't interrupt, so she stayed put. Rhyanid went to one of the cages, peering inside. "That sleeping one in the corner is a very relaxed one. A little bit shy, but definitely warms up to you after a bit. My sister's been playing with him a lot, so it seems like it just takes him a bit to get comfortable with someone," he explained before moving to the next cage. "The one eating the kibble right there is another relaxed one. Very friendly, though. She loves to cuddle and be petted, she doesn't have any desire to bite or scratch at all from what we've seen, and when she's done getting attention she'll go curl up and snooze for a bit. She does have spurts of playfulness, though," he said. "There are a few more options, but did you want to meet either of those ones before we move on?"

Bastian smiled when Vlora said that her niece was a good girl. "A book and a view of the lake sound delightful right about now," he said with a shake of her head. "I am quite serious about my job, as I'm sure you are about yours," he said. "And thank you," he added when she said he'd look very sharp in whatever he wore. He paused after she said she hadn't been to such an event. "If we hadn't just met last night for the first time, I'd suggest that you could accompany me. I usually just take one of my colleagues with me. She loathes these events as much as I do, which makes her excellent company for them, but the event coincides with her honeymoon and she'll be away, so it unfortunately seems that I'll be attending alone."

The girl followed him and about died at seeing the kittens. "Hmm, the girl sounds delightful." She said and looked up at him. "My I hold her, please?" She asked him. He sure knew his job and her daddy wouldn't be all too pleased that he was an elf AND worked at a pet store, but he was so devilishly handsome and seemed so nice. He would have to get over it because she knew for a fact she wanted to date him.

Vlora shook her head, "You and my niece would get along very well. She is very book smart, thanks to her mother, but now I have the time to make her street smart and then she will just be the smartest. Oh... maybe she can become a lawyer and make ya struggle. That sounds fun." She joked and smirked. When she kind of invited her but didn't really invite her she laughed. "Oh darn and to think this girl from the other side of the tracks would have loved to go." She joked. "I am sure you can find another lovely lady at the place to help pass the time. Just throw at her your witts and jokes." She said and held back a laugh.

Rhyanid nodded when the girl asked if she could hold the female kitten. "Certainly," he replied. He opened up the cage and a few of the kittens came to investigate, but he gently nudged them back before scooping up the kitten that she'd wanted to see. "Here you go. Just be gentle since she's small. We generally try to keep the back legs supported when they're this little, although they do look cute with the legs just flopping around," he told her with a chuckle. Lanissa emerged from the office into the front of the store, looking towards Isla with a smile. "Everything going well out here, dear?" she asked.

Bastian grinned when Vlora said that her niece was book smart and that maybe she could become a lawyer. "If she had any interest in law, I'd be happy to help you out by any means available. She could even intern at my firm - when she's older, of course," he said. He blinked at her words, but then he figured that it was probably sarcasm, since he knew he certainly didn't have any jokes. A slight smile crept across his lips. "Perhaps I should invite you regardless. It might be entertaining to see a girl from the other side of the tracks getting all prettied up for a charity ball. Although I'm sure you'd look lovely in a gown. It's not often women with a body like yours show up at these events. They're all either petite or plump, with no muscles either way," he said.

The woman watched him take her out, awing at the fact that the rest of them came running over to see. She would have loved all of them but she couldn't be that crazy cat lady. She watched and listened before giggling. "Will do." She said softly and gently did as he was doing, their hand's brushing for a moment. "Aw, look at you. You are so sweet." She said and gently petted her little head. Her friend's had cats or dogs and she loved both, but she loved the cats the most. "I am Victora, by the way." She laughed. "It is not every day you see a man like yourself loving on animals. It is refreshing to see." She said, a small blush coming up. Isla looked up from holding the puppy and telling it stories about the dogs on her island and smiled. "Oh yes... kind of slow right now. Do you need me to do anything?" She asked softly.

Vlora smiled, "that is very generous of you. The girl sure does have her options." She said and blinked at the smile that crept up. He needed to stop being so handsome. It was becoming a problem not to look at him. When he said that he should invite her and then went on to talk about her body. "Oh ho ho, you are so pervy, Mr. Da Larousse. Whatever am I gonna do with you?" She asked and smirked. "If you would like me to go with you to this ball I wouldn't say no. I don't mind showing off my body, I worked hard to get this. Nice to know you like looking at it." She laughed a bit.

Rhyanid gently handed the kitten over to the woman, smiling as she fussed over it and how sweet it was. The kitten was obviously more than content to be handled and petted, and Rhyanid grinned a bit. "The perfect match," he remarked with a chuckle. When she introduced herself and said it wasn't every day you saw a man like himself with animals, he grinned a bit. "My name's Rhyanid, and I've always been something of an animal lover - my whole family is, really, which is why we opened this place up," he said with a chuckle. "Did you want to look at any other kittens or do you think this is going to be the one for you?" he asked.

Lanissa smiled at Isla when she said everything was going well and that it was a bit slow. When she asked if there was anything she needed her to do, she smiled. "Rhyanid seems to be handling a customer right now and the kitten and puppy adoptions usually take a bit longer than the others since there's more paperwork to go with them, and he may need to help the girl pick out some supplies, too. Any chance you could head into the back and feed the puppies? There's a bag of food near the cages. I'm sure Sadie or Rhyan will point it out to you if you ask when you go in. Just fill up all the food bowls except for the blue food bowl - that one needs a different kind of food which, again, I'm sure Rhyan will be happy to point you to," she said. She had some papers in hand and headed towards the front counter. "I'll watch the front while you do that." she said.

Bastian smiled when she said it was generous. "Law is a noble profession. I'm always happy to encourage young ones to consider it," he said. He blinked when she called him pervy and said she didn't mind showing off her body, and he shook his head a bit at her. "Well, I can't say that I don't enjoy looking at you. I am a man, after all," he shrugged. "If you wouldn't say no, then I see little point in asking. I'd quite like to take you to the ball with me. I'll make sure my secretary has all the information together for you - time, date, location - and you can stop by my office any time to pick it up from her," he said.

Victoria listened to him and smiled, "Aw, that is really sweet that you work with your family. Family is important." She said softly before looking up at him. "Oh no, I think this beauty is the one for me. I mean... I even think we look alike." She joked softly. It wasn't every day she enjoyed the company of another man.

Isla nodded about her son handling the woman. She was excited about it, but then she wanted her to feed the puppies. "I would love to feed those cuties." She giggled a bit and walked back to where they were. Victoria glanced her way but then went back to Rhyanid. The small dwarf walked over to Sadie and smiled, "Hey girl, can you show me where the food is? I don't want to disturb Rhyan." She whispered to her. Isla was shocked the dog got up and showed her to the actual food. "Ugh you are one smart doggo." She whispered and gently petted her head. She placed the puppy she had back where she got it before starting on feeding the puppies.

Vlora smirked, "An honest man is a good one." She said and laughed a bit when he told her he would like to take her to the ball she smiled. It wasn't a date, she much rather call it a crashing since her kind were never invited to such things. Plus she loved this man's company. "Sounds good, though if you could tell me where your office is... that would probably help a tad." She said and smiled at a woman who eyed the two. Vlora knew all too well what this looked liked.

Rhyanid grinned when she said how important family was and he nodded. "Oh, I agree wholeheartedly," he said. When she said that this kitten was the one for her, he nodded. "Perfect. Do you have any supplies for her, or are you going to be needing that, too? We've got pretty much everything you'll be needing," he said. He glanced over when Isla came into the back room, giving her a smile as she passed them and chuckling a bit when she got Sadie to show her where the food was. Sadie led her to the food bag, nudging it with her nose before going back to her cushion.

Bastian nodded at her comment. "An honest man certainly is a good one," he agreed. When she asked him to tell her where his office was, he nodded. "Of course. It's actually not far from where you and I met last night. I had assumed it would be within your patrol area. I could show you, if you would like. I'll be passing it on my way to the suit shop, so it won't be out of the way for me," he said.

Victoria smiled and shook her head, "I don't have a thing, sadly. If you could help me pick out what she needs I would be so grateful." She giggled. When Isla was done feeding the normal doggos she blinked and looked back at Rhyan. She really didn't want to disturb him and excused herself before he left. "Sorry, this will just take a second. I need to know where the special food is for the blue bowl, please." She said softly and smiled up at Victoria who smiled softly at the girl. "I love your new kitten." Isla said softly ad Victoria smiled. "Thank you so much." She said softly.

Vlora looked back towards the lake island and then back at him. Her niece was more than old enough to take care of herself and she knew what to do if she needed someone. "That would be nice, actually. Bad enough people think I am some kind of daylight prostitute." She laughed. "It would be worse if I were snooping around to try and find a lawyer's office.

Rhyanid smiled and nodded when Victoria said that she'd be grateful if he could help her pick out what the cat would need. "We can do that, then," he said. He looked over at Isla when she approached, smiling when she asked for the special food for the blue bowl. "Oh. Yeah... I keep meaning to move that some place a bit lower so you and Zel can find it. Zel's always complaining that she has to get a stepstool out whenever she has to feed the dogs," he said with a laugh. He reached and pulled down a bag of food from on top of the dog cages, way up high where Isla wouldn't have been able to see it, let alone reach it, and he handed it gently to her. "Here you go. I'll let you figure out someplace to put it where you can reach it - just don't put it where Sadie can get at it. She's a good girl, but she's got a weakness for this stuff. Don't you, girl?" he called over to Sadie, who gave a friendly bark in response.

Bastian blinked when she said that people thought she was some kind of daylight prostitute. "Well, I certainly wouldn't have taken you for a prostitute of any sort," he said, shaking his head a bit before nodding for her to walk with him. "Are you your niece's guardian, then?" he asked her, a bit curious about this niece whose educational options she seemed to be exploring. That seemed like it should be the job of the parents, so perhaps Vlora's siblings were dead or imprisoned. Either one would likely make an intriguing story.

Isla just smiled and held onto the bag for dear life. She got what she needed and he could leave. When he said to place it low but not too low she nodded and went to put the food in the blue bowl, leaving him to Victoria. Victoria nodded and looked up at the tall and glorious man. "Rhyanid, would normal milk be okay for her? And do you think wet food is better for her than dry?" She asked, wanting to get his attention back.

Vlora smiled, "You are too sweet." She laughed softly before looking up at him. "Ahh, I was for a tad. Well until I brought her to my brother, her father. Uhm... he didn't even know he had a daughter until her I brought her over from where we are from. Her mother had passed away and I believe someone is after her too. So... I am pretty glad that he lives on the islands now since it will be easier to keep track of her and if someone is trying to get her." She said and smiled. "But I did take care of her for about a month and a half. Her father works as a bodyguard during the day so he can't really do all the school looking and stuff." She said softly.

Rhyanid gave Isla a smile before looking back over at Victoria, opening the door for her so they could head back to the front. "You can carry the kitten with you while we shop around for her, if you want. It'll give you two some time to bond," he told her. "You probably shouldn't give her normal milk. Cats can't really digest it properly and it can make her sick. We've got a special cat milk you can buy that is supposed to taste the same but be better for them, though," he said. "And cats should get a mix of wet food and dry food. I can't say for sure exactly how much of each to give her, though. You'll have to take her to see a veterinarian to figure out exactly how much you should be feeding her, but at her size we usually give them half a can of wet food twice a day, and then three quarters of a cup of dry food once a day," he continued as he headed to the front of the shop with her.

Bastian smiled when he called her sweet. He nodded a bit as she explained the situation with her brother and niece. "He didn't know he had a daughter?" he asked, frowning a bit. "That's... messy. I suppose no custody issues will arise if the mother has passed on, although I do know an excellent law firm if any such issues ever arise," he told her. He frowned a bit at the idea of someone trying to get this perfectly innocent child. He wasn't good at dealing with such matters. Vlora had likely taken all the precautions she could, and Bastian's job, really, was to deal with these matters after they occurred, and not preemptively.

Victoria listened as they walked to the front and nodded. He knew so much about the kitten that she just followed him like a puppy and nodded. Her new little baby had cuddled into her and she about melted. "That sounds like a lot of food. You gonna be a plump little one." She giggled at the kitten. When they got to the front she smiled at Lanissa softly before looking back up at her son. There was a thump sound coming from the back and Isla ran out and smiled, "Don't mind that sound... I just fell off the step stool." She giggled and ran back in the back before putting the dog food for the blue bowl up so Sadie couldn't get it.

Vlora couldn't help the little laugh that escaped when he said he knew a law firm that could help in a situation like this. "I think I know what law firm you are talking about, but you see the guy who owns it has a wandering eye and nice smile. Deadly combo." She smirked before sighing a bit. "It was a shocker. We didn't find out about her till after the death and that was messy since it was so violent. The poor girl had to witness it, but she is taking it like a champ. I told her about last night and she says it is naive to be walking alone at night and not know how to defend yourself. Especially when you work in the field you do." She smiled. "The girl is beyond her years. Boys? Only in the books she reads. Right now she has a rare and original copy of some classics that I bought on the way here since she had to just HAVE it. She reads some of it to me when I am going to sleep. So watch out, Mr. Da Larousse. I am going to be super smart with the books too." She smiled.

Rhyanid laughed a little when she commented that the kitten would be a plump little one. "It's a growing kitten, so it'll need a decent amount of food. Maintaining a healthy weight is important, but your vet will be able to help you with that part," he told her. He headed over to the cat supplies with her, smiling. "So, there are some things that'll be necessary and some that aren't required, but are good to have. You'll need a litter box, a scoop, and some litter, you'll need a food dish and a water dish, and you'll obviously need some food. Beyond that, though, everything else is optional. We recommend getting a collar for the cat, and it's generally a good idea to buy some sort of jungle gym or climber for them. We also recommend lots of toys so your cat has a variety of things to play with, although that could just be because we make more money if you buy more toy," he joked with a laugh. Soup was eyeing them from the top of his cat condo, clearly curious about the kitten that had been brought up to the front. Lanissa smiled as she watched her son help the customer before looking over at Isla when she ducked out, blinking and then frowning. She hoped the girl hadn't hurt herself on her second day of the job. That would mean paperwork.

Bastian blinked when she said that the law firm he was talking about was run by a guy with a wandering eye and a nice smile. "Oh! A joke. get it," he said. He nodded a bit when she told him about what had happened with the girl's mother, blinking when she said what the child had said. "I've never before had an issue with walking home at night, nor did my father when he did the same. The city has always had enough guard and patrol presence to feel safe, particularly walking in well-lit areas and wealthier parts of town," he told her. He blinked when she said that the child had a rare and original copy of some classics. "She'll make you book-smart while you make her...what was your term for it? Street smart?" he asked.

Victoria listened and blinked, "Oh you are going to run me dry, but your face is so worth it!" She giggled. "Would it be okay if I just get what she needs. Like the food, litter, the box, and a bed? I can only carry so much to the carriage." She smiled and then blushed a bit. "Uhm... if you aren't busy after work... would you mind joining me at a local cafe for coffee or tea?" She asked softly. She had hoped he would say yes. He was such a nice man and she knew they would be able to hit it off. Isla came back out in time to hear and she also hoped he would because that might mean he would spend less time here. She went up to Lanissa and smiled. "All done. The doggos are happy puppers and Sadie is such a good girl. I mean she wanted to go for the blue bowl food but she stayed there and just watched. My heart broke... she has the cutest face and she just wanted something tasty." She giggled.

Vlora watched as he slowly got the joke and laughed, "You are interesting, Bastian. I am going to say that now." She said and looked over at the surrounding buildings. "Mmm well... does your father at least know how to protect himself? Just because you never had a problem doesn't mean the occasion couldn't arise... such in your case last night when I saved your pretty arse." She giggled a bit. "Yes, streets smart. Have knowledge of both seems like a good cutting sword if you as me. I have sisters who would suit you. Very prim and prime. Well... except for maybe the last two since they kind of take after me, but they are very book smart. One is actually married to a lawyer, but I hate him. He is an asshole and a half." She sighed.

Rhyanid chuckled a little when the girl told the kitten that it'd run her dry, nodding when she asked about just getting what she needed. "Of course. If you need an extra pair of hands to load things into the carriage, though, I'm happy to help," he told her. "Besides, you can always come back and get more things whenever you need them," he added. When she asked if he wanted to join her for coffee after work, he blinked, a little surprised, and then nodded. "Sure. I'm not doing anything after work. That sounds like fun," he told her. Lanissa shook her head a bit when the girl asked Rhyanid out for coffee, glancing up at Isla when she came and said that the dogs were fed and Sadie was a good girl. She laughed a little. "Sadie's got a bit of a weakness for that food, but it's the wrong kind of protein for her. We've had issues with her scarfing it and then getting sick, so Rhyan likes to keep it out of her reach," she said. "There should be a bag of treats on the shelf near her bed, though, if you'd like to give her a treat."

Bastian raised an eyebrow when she said he was interesting. "I think you are interesting, too, Vlora," he told her. When she asked about his father knowing to protect himself, he blinked. "I believe my late father took fencing classes, but I highly doubt you would consider that worthwhile protection," he told her. He blinked when she said that she had sisters who would suit him, smiling a bit. "Well, if your sisters are anywhere near as beautiful as you are, I may need you to introduce me one day," he said. "You mentioned a brother, and now you mention sisters...just how many siblings do you have?"

Victoria smiled and a bit shocked that he had said yes. "Oh good... I will come back at closing." She said softly and loved on the kitten before coming to the counter. Isla about died when he said yes. She was so happy. That meant she would probably be alone more since he would go on breaks and leave the actual building instead of staying around. When his mother said there were treats for her by her bed she nodded and ran in the back since Victoria would have to fill out paperwork and she loved on Sadie before feeding her a treat. "You are such a good doggo and so pretty." She cooed and kissed the dog's head. "I have to go but you know where I am at ever want lovings." She giggled before hurrying back to the front.

Vlora smiled when he said she was interesting too. She had hoped she was interesting. It would suck to just be hot and an ass kicker. When he said late she frowned a bit, "I am sorry. I didn't know he had passed. Fencing is... a start. It gives you a good balance in your core and if you needed to dodge it would be easy." She said before smiling a bit. "Well if I could get them on a boat I wouldn't mind." She laughed. "I have sixteen siblings. I am the fourth kid in all of that hot mess." She smiled.

Rhyanid grinned when the girl said she'd come back at closing and he nodded. "Sounds good. We close at eight, although if it's busy I'll likely be around a little later cleaning up and stuff. It doesn't seem like it's going to be busy today, though, so it should be fine," he told her. He helped her to get a litter box, some bowls, a scoop, and some food and litter for the cat before heading over to the counter. Lanissa got up and left the counter when he approached, heading back into the office so he could handle the transaction himself. He started to ring up the items, pulling out the paperwork he'd need Victoria to complete for the cat. "This will just be a minute, there's stuff I need to fill out and stuff you need to fill out," he said as he started to fill out his portion of the paperwork.

Bastian nodded when she apologized. "Of course you didn't know. You had no way of knowing that as I'd not yet mentioned it. Let the record show now, though, that you now know both my parents are gone and I have no siblings," he said with a smile. When she said how many siblings she had, he blinked and shook his head. "I... wow. Goodness. There are no words," he said. "I must say, I do not envy your mother in the slightest."

Isla passed by her boss and smiled before returning to the front and blinking when she saw the two. This gave her an excuse to go look at the fish, though she did listen in on the conversation. Victoria smiled and nodded, "that's okay. I don't mind if I have to wait." She said softly. The girl seemed really nice and it seemed like Rhyan was picking up on that vibe. Isla blew a kiss to one fish and it looked confused before swimming up to the glass and going crazy. "Shh shh it was just a little thing." She whispered and hummed a sea lullaby her mother used to sing to her. Victoria looked back at the girl when she started to hum and blinked. She was a strange one and she liked how she didn't seem interesting in the tall dark man in front of her. She looked back at him, "Your co-worker is adorable." She smiled.

Vlora blinked up at him, "wait... I wasn't even in my judge suit, but I guess we can keep it on record." She smiled softly. "No siblings? I wonder how that must feel. Well, your parents raised a very good man, well... from what I have seen so far. You seem like one. Could totally prove me wrong but I am giving you the benefit of the doubt." She said and gently kicked a rock. Vlora liked these walks and talks with this man. He was fun and always seemed to keep her smiling. When he commented on her siblings she laughed, "I am going to have to say the same thing. I have helped her out and lucky enough the girls, besides the last two, were dolls. The guys are another story." She said and watched a kid walk with his mother.

Rhyanid smiled up at Victoria when she said she was fine with waiting, watching briefly as Isla went to the fish before turning his attention back to the paperwork. He was almost done his section when Victoria commented on how adorable Isla was, and he grinned a bit. "She is. She's really into the fish, which is good, because fish are a pretty underrated pet and they deserve some love," he told her. "And besides, you can never fault someone who works hard, and she seems like a hard worker so far. Here we go, that's my part filled out - now you can start in on yours. It's mostly personal information for our adoption records, and it'll also ask you to write in the name. Have you thought about a name for her yet?" he asked.

Bastian blinked when she said she wasn't in her judge suit. "Your judge...oh, another joke. You're a clever one, aren't you?" he asked with a smile. He shrugged a bit when she asked how it felt to have no siblings. "I would tell you, but I'm afraid I've no experience having siblings, so there's no way to compare. I never had an issue with it, of course. It meant there was no one fighting me over any inheritance when they passed, for which I was rather grateful. I've seen too many families torn apart over such petty squabbles," he sighed. He nodded a bit when she agreed that she pitied her mother. "From everything I have heard, childbirth sounds utterly excruciating. I've often wondered how my mother managed it once. Seventeen times, though..." He shook his head a bit before stopping. "Here we are. This is my firm," he said, gesturing towards the building before them.

Isla heard the girl call her cute but pretended to be so occupied by the fish. She even heard the elf and it was nice that he thought she was a hard worker and such. Victoria smiled, "that's adorable. Well, a hard worker is always appreciated. I know I wish we had more like her at my work." She said and Isla smiled. "Hmm a name... I think I will name her Midge." She said softly before smiling and beginning the paperwork. Isla organized and straightened the stuff for the fish while she was over there. Then he cleaned the outside of the class and made faces at the fish before smiling.

Vora laughed and shook her head at Bastian. "Maybe when it comes to you." She smiled. He was a very enjoyable man and was glad she saved his ass when she did. He was worth saving so far. "Ahh true..." She said softly and walked with him before blinking and nodding. "I have seen some births and my mother's a champ, that's for sure." Vlora had to help her birth a couple of her siblings since her father had gone off on a job and she didn't trust her brothers for shit doing it. When they got to his office he looked over and blinked. "Huh, this is cute. Which one is your office from here? Or is it in the back?" She asked.

Rhyanid smiled when Victoria said that Isla's love of the fish was adorable and that she wished they had more like her at her work. "Oh? What is it that you do?" he asked. He grinned when she said that she was going to name the kitten Midge. "That's a cute name," he told her. Lanissa emerged from the office a moment later, walking over to the counter. "I'm going to run out for a few minutes, so you're in charge," she said, leaning up and pecking Rhyanid on the cheek before heading out of the shop. Rhyanid smiled a bit. "Sounds good, mom," he said, giving her a wave as she left before looking back over at Victoria.

Bastian smiled at her when she said that she'd seen some births and that her mother was a champ. "That is for sure," he agreed with a nod. When she said that the firm was cute and asked which was his office, he smirked a bit. "The upper two levels of the tower are both mine. The lower level is a waiting area where my clients can wait undisturbed, since there are usually quite a few people coming and going, and the upper level is my office itself," he said. "Would you like to see the inside?"

Victoria smiled, "I run a clothing store." She said softly. "We mostly sell local designers, which funny enough is only two and one of them usually makes doll clothing." She smiled. "But it is enough to fill up the stores and things get sold." She said softly. She watched his mother come up and then say she was going out and Isla felt a bit sad. She was hoping HE would go, but of course, he was a dedicated animal seller. "You are your mom seem close. That is always a good thing." She said before finishing up on the paperwork and handing it over to him.

Vlora looked at where he talking and smiled. "Of course you would stay in the tower part and then having me save you makes me wanna call you a princess, but I will be nice." She smiled. When he offered to show her what the inside she nodded. "I would love to see where you work. Since you know... you are always walking in on mine." She joked a bit.
