Description

ImageName:
Jasper Kordel

Age:
23

Gender:
Male

Race:
Human

Sexuality:
Bi

Trade:
Architect

Appearance:
Jasper stands at six feet and two inches. He is lean and muscular with tan skin. His eyes are a light green and his hair a messy dirty blond hair that when flatten goes to his chin. He has a tattoo on his upper left shoulder that is in remembrance of his daughter.

Personality:
Jasper is a quiet man. He doesn't really like to interact with people and likes to just get things done and go home. Most of the time he is just a background kind of person, not liking to be in the light. It is known to be depressed and it is why he is such a loner. At one point he was known to be a character and a half. Always laughing and joking around, but that seemed to have disappeared.

History:
Jasper Kordel was born to the parents of Eugine and Whilma Kordel. He is the oldest out of four kids. He has two sisters, Hannah and Georgina, and a brother, Seth. Jasper had a pretty normal childhood. He got along with all of his relatives and made friends pretty easily.

At a young age, he had always liked to build things. His parents had bought him building blocks and Jasper took off with them. The older he got the more creative he became. When he got to high school he took up carpentry and learned how to build stuff, from there he decided to make his own business and has continued to do so until this day. Him and his business has built a countless number of houses around the islands, including the some of the famous people around.

During high school, he had met a girl named Aurora. She was the sweetest girl he had ever met. She talked softly and dreamed of having a big family and just being a stay at home wife and mom. Jasper was okay with that, knowing he wanted a family of his own. Aurora had loved the hell out of him, hell even more than he loved himself. How could he not fall for her? At eighteen they got married and soon after she became pregnant with their first child. It was a beautiful baby girl named, Faye, but sadly she died a year later after getting hit by a carriage while on Jasper's watch. Aurora never forgave him and he quite frankly couldn't forgive himself either. She left him not long after and filed for divorce

That is when he became introverted and refusing to really interact with people unless it was for job purposes. He stayed home when he wasn't working or off to the lumber yard or wherever his work took him. It has been three years since the incident and he still continues to hate himself. Despite his family's attempt at getting him out of the house and finding people to talk to, Jasper has made it a point of just straight up denying his family's help, though he loves them to death.

So begins...

Jasper hated this time of year. Seeing the damn hearts everywhere and couples happily walking by. This was the day he usually just stayed in but he needed new shoes since he had an important business meeting which meant he had to dress up and in order to do that he needed shoes. He had heard from a worker of his about the new cobbler in town and decided to give the guy a shot since people liked his work already for being here in such a short time. When he walked in he blinked and looked around, "Uh, hello?" He called out softly.

Cherono had stepped briefly into the back room to grab an awl, and he was just looking through his tools when he heard somebody come in the front. He smiled, heading out of the back room. He gazed admiringly at the handsome blond man in front of him and his smile grew somewhat. "Hey, there," he said, setting the awl down on his counter and looking back over at him. "What can I do for you?"

Jasper was expecting a tall man or at least a man normal size when they cobbler walked out. He looked down and smiled some kind of awkwardly. "Uh... yeah I was wondering if I could buy a pair of dress shoes from you. Uhm something of the dark kind, if that is okay with you." He said and looked around a bit before looking back at him and smiling. The man was a fancy kind of handsome, something he didn't particularly like too much, not that he would be dating him. He didn't do the dating thing. It was too much of a hassle, but the guy looked nice and well kept. Something he could appreciate.

Cherono grinned when the man said he was looking to buy some dress shoes and he nodded. "Absolutely," he said, and nodded for the man to follow him. He headed over to the side wall where he kept all the ready-made shoes, smiling rather proudly as he reached them. "So these are all the ones that are ready to go. What size shoe are you? I try to keep a few different options in stock in each size, so there should be something here that'll work well," he told him.

Jasper followed him to the selection and looked it over. They were really good shoes. "Uhm eleven and a half." He said and looked around. "You think they have my size in a dark shoe?" He asked and looked back down at the man. "I have a meeting so I gotta look well... like you." He chuckled and may have blushed.

Cherono nodded, beginning to look over the shoes he had in the other man's size. Just as he reached for one of them, the man commented that he had to look like Cherono for a meeting and he smirked a bit, glancing over. "I doubt you have to look quite like me," he said in a somewhat teasing tone before picking up a pair of black shoes in the size the other man had indicated. He held it out. "How's this one?" he asked.

Jasper laughed softly and shook his head, "Well... I guess I can do without the shirt... I mean I would have a shirt on but just not such a... vibrant one." He said and laughed. When he got shown the shoes, Jasper smiled. "Those look really nice... uh would it be okay... uhm to try it on?" He asked. This was a bit awkward for him since for one he didn't want to stare anymore and two the man was really short.

Cherono laughed when the man commented that he could do without the shirt and he nodded. "I'm sure you could. You probably look just fine in a regular shirt, though these shirts are much more fun," he said with a smirk and a quick wink before holding out the pair of shoes to him. "Go ahead and try them on. No use in selling you a pair of shoes that doesn't fit right," he said with a chuckle.

Jasper blushed a bit and shook his head, "Fun shirts are just not for me." He chuckled before gently taking them and sitting down. He undid the shoes he had on before trying the ones the short man handed him. They fit and looked really good. Jasper got up and walked around before turning to him and smiling. "These really are good shoes." He said softly. "I am sold." He said and walked back to put on his old shoes and looked up at the man. He wondered if he should start a conversation and decided not to.

Emiia went to work and laid her head down on the desk. Her mother had left the islands and now she had the energy to finally work but didn't have energy. She hadn't seen Blake outside of work for a good bit and wondered what the hell he had been up too. Gay Jay and Ginger were supposed to be coming over that weekend and she couldn't be happier to set Gay Jay and him. Her uncle came to her desk with a pile of books and looked apologetically at her but she dismissed him and got to work.

Cherono chuckled a bit when the man said that fun shirts weren't for him. "I don't know, I think you cohld pull it off if you tried," he said with a grin, heading over to the counter while the man tried on the shoes, picking up the awl and the shoes he'd been working on and beginning to carefully work at the leather while the man tried the shoes on and walked around. When he said he was sold, Cherono grinned. "I'm glad to hear that I didn't waste away my life learning the cobbler's trade only to sell shoddy shoes," he joked with a grin before telling him the price. They certainly weren't the cheapest shoes in the store, but as far as men's dress shoes went, they also weren't terribly expensive.

Emilia got to work, the rest of the day she cooed over Blake and his girlfriend, even telling him that he was a good boy for finding a girl on his own. When the day was done she looked over at Blake, "You gonna invite me to the wedding... right?" She asked with a big smile. Emilia knew they had only just started dating but she couldn't help but see them two getting married and having kids. She swayed, "What are you doing tonight?" She asked and fixed her dress.

Jasper just smiled at the man who said he would look good in flamboyant shirts. He much rather not scream gay, maybe whisper he liked men too but screaming it just seemed excessive. Jasper chuckled a bit when he said he was glad he didn't waste his life away to make shitty shoes. "Well I guess that is a good thing, now is it?" He said and blinked at the price before taking his wallet out and handing him the cash. "You can keep the change, thanks again... uhh I didn't get your name. I'm sorry." He said.

Cherono chuckled a bit and nodded his agreement when the man said it was a good thing. He smiled, taking the cash and depositing it into the register, and his smile grew a bit when the man said to keep the change. "Okay, if you're sure! Thank you!" he said, and then politely stuck a hand out. "The name's Cherono. Cherono Garmold. Oh, and hey, what is it that you do? If I'm ever in your market I'd like to know to keep you in mind," he said with a grin, though he doubted that keeping this guy in mind would be an issue. He was quite attractive. Probably taken, of course, and probably straight.

Jasper smiled at how excited he got for keeping the change. It was possibly adorable from such a small man. When he stuck out his hand Jasper took ahold of it in a firm businesslike way and shook it. "Cherono." He repeated so he could remember it and smirked, "The name is Jasper and I am an architect. I build a lot of the buildings and homes here... or rather my workers do... I try and get on the sites as much as possible." He smiled. "So if you need anything built, well... I am your guy." He laughed softly. This was the most he had talked to someone that wasn't family or friends or coworkers. Hell he hadn't laughed like that in a good minute. Jasper gently dropped Jasper's hand. "Well, Cherono, thank you for the very nice shoes. I will have to come again when I am in need." HE smiled.

Cherono had to admit that he was impressed with the man's handshake. He wasn't usually a handshake kind of guy, but this one was good and firm. "Jasper," he echoed back so he'd remember it. "That sounds pretty awesome. I doubt I'll be needing anything built," he said with a chuckle, "but if I do, I'll be sure to keep you in mind." When Jasper dropped his hand and thanked him again, Cherono smiled and nodded. "Those shoes'll serve you well. The soles should last up to six months, depending how much you wear them, so you'll want to bring them in every six months or so to be resoled," he said, though he was hoping he wouldn't have to wait six months to see the man again. "Oh, and she'll kick my ass if I forget to tell you this because I promised I would - if you happen to be in the market for any fine jewelry, maybe a gift for a special lady or something, I'm supposed to recommend Garmold Glitters just down the street," he said with a chuckle.

Jasper liked the way Cherono said his name, though he wouldn't admit to liking it too much. He still much rather be alone than try to be anything more than whatever this was. He listened when the small man talked about the soles and when he should come back to get them resoled, though he probably could wait longer since he wasn't going to be wearing this very often. The last pair he had was from his daughter's funeral and he had those packed up and in his attic, never to be worn again. "Ahh I might not have to for a bit longer than that." He smiled softly. "I am probably going to wear these, maybe two or three times a year if that." He said and then rubbed the back of his head when he talked about jewelry. "Haha, thanks... I could swing over there when my sister's and mother's birthday rolls around. You have a good one... Cherono." He smiled before waving a bit and walking out.

Cherono smiled and nodded when Jasper said that he would probably only wear the shoes a couple times a year. "That's fair, just keep me in mind when you do need to bring them in," he said, though he had to admit that he was a bit disappointed that he likely wouldn't be seeing Jasper all that much. "Have a good rest of your day...Jasper. And hope your meeting goes well!" he said politely, giving a bit of a wave as the other man left. Sister and mother...that meant that there was no girlfriend or wife in the picture. Cherono couldn't help but to smirk a bit as he picked up the shoes he'd been working on and got back to work, his mind now absently playing through countless scenarios involving Jasper that he knew would never happen.

A few days had passed since Cherono had sold shoes to that handsome blond man, Jasper, and for some reason he'd been thinking of him frequently. He wasn't certain why; he didn't usually get hung up on attractive customers like this, so what was the deal with Jasper? Cherono had just closed the store down so he could go for his lunch break, leaving a sign on the door saying what time he'd be back in, and he had been walking to a nearby cafe that Barynn had shown him when a group of men spotted him going by and decided to give him some trouble. They jeered and laughed, starting to walk a few paces behind him and loudly make digs at his height and his shirt. Cherono was mildly annoyed, but tried to ignore it and just keep walking. It wasn't worth wasting his time on them, nor was it worth getting upset or worked up about. He only hoped it wouldn't grow physical, because he lacked any fighting skills whatsoever and he knew they'd kick his ass if it came to it.

Jasper had been walking down the street from a client's property and was going to grab a bite to eat when he saw a familiar short man walking out of his shop and then he saw a group of men walk behind him and make fun of him for his height and shirt. Jasper sped up his pace of walking and laughed loudly, "You know the funny thing about being an architect and having my own construction company? I may or may not have buried guys like you under the many houses and building that I have built." The group turned around and eyed him. Jasper had gotten into his fair share of fights, but that was a few years ago and now he wondered if he should have taken a better route, but the group shoved passed him, mumbling shit under their breath, before disappearing into an alleyway. "Sorry about that, not everyone here is an asshole." He said and smiled down at the man. His shirt was as flamboyant as the last time he saw him and Jasper couldn't help but smile.

Cherono blinked in surprise when he heard the voice addressing the men and he stopped to turn around, spotting none other than Jasper standing there as the men grumpily filed away. He chuckled a bit at what Jasper had to say, smiling up at the tall man. "Nah, I didn't think so. Pretty much everyone I've met so far has been pretty nice," he said with a bit of a shrug. "But thanks. Are you heading for lunch, too?"

Jasper chuckled, "Good, I don't need you hating the islands because of our assholes." He said and ran his hand through his hair before nodding. "Sure am, there is this cafe that serves the best paninis on the island. You wanna come? Usually, I eat alone, but I am afraid if I leave you those asshats will take out whatever anger they have from me on you and that is not something I would like on my shoulders if you don't mind." He smiled softly.
