Marcus had not been to the village in a couple years. The last time he seen Elwin was in his house the night he left. He partook in their usual rituals and was lying there when Elwin begged him to choose him over his fear, but what he hadn't known is that it wasn't the fear of his father it was the fear of putting Elwin in danger. He had snuck out of the house once Elwin was asleep. Even though he had been gone all these years all he ever thought about was Elwin, but he made a rule to stop coming and seeing him. He had to or he would lose the battle and put Elwin at death's door.

Now he was sent to the village by his father to get help from Nasir and Elwin. He tried to get his father to make someone else go, but he said that he hadn't been there in a couple years and it was about time he paid them a visit, especially since Roshia, the only person who could completely hand him his own ass, had recently gotten married. Marcus sighed, rubbing his face, as he sat back in his carriage. The travel was long and he had time to think of what he was going to do once he saw Elwin, but nothing ever seemed right.

The carriage pulled up by Nasir, Roshia, Elwin, and people he had never seen before. He saw through the window Elwin holding hands with another man. His fist curled, he couldn't stand the sight, but he hopped out and smiled, "Hello stra-" He was interrupted by a searing pain in his jaw and stumbled to the side. Marcus looked over to see Roshia cocking her arm back to swing again, but Nasir stood in between. "No." was all Nasir said, but the tone seemed to send chills down everyone's, including his, spine.

Roshia glared at him, then Nasir, before grabbing Elwin's hand and walking away. Elwin kept holding the other man's hand as they walked. Roshia turned back around and screamed, "You come anywhere near him and I will rip your throat out once and for fucking all!" She turned back around and stormed off into Elwin's house. The whole time though Elwin stared at him with such shock, anger, and hurt. Marcus couldn't bare to look at him anymore and turned to look at the group instead, smiling.

Everyone, besides Nasir, looked shocked. "Long story short, I deserved it. Let me introduce myself. I am Prince Marcus Hilyard. I come with gifts for the married couple." His hand pointed to the wagon behind the carriage that had things from rugs to jewelry. Then he looked at Nasir, "And I have business with you old friend."

Nasir huffed, "What can I help you with?" He asked. Next to him was a very tiny girl. Must be his girl, nice.

Marcus looked back to Nasir, "Father needs some furniture done. Some asshole came ambushing into the place and destroyed a few of the chambles and chairs. Also actually need to talk Elwin too, mother wants a couple dresses made, but it looks like I am going to have to wrestle Roshia for that to happen." He laughed.

Nasir turned to the girl, "Why don't you go home, we can meet up at the spot from earlier today... remember you don't have to come, but if you do then it means you are ready." He had leaned down and kissed her on the forehead before turning back to Marcus. "I can do that."

Marcus nodded, "Good, glad to hear." He then turned to the only guy left that seemed to be Roshia's husband. "I am assuming you are Roshia's husband, Hi, just show my men where to put these at. The palace hopes you enjoy your gifts. And sorry about it being so much, my mother is a bit crazy when it comes to giving gifts." He smiled.

Atlas didnt like the face Elwin made when the carriage pulled up, he already knew it was about to be a bad day. He was going to ask Elwin if he was okay but Roshia was throwing punches the second the new man stepped out of it. Then he knew that it really wasnt going to be a good day if this man had Roshia punching him before he could even open his mouth to speak. Elwin was frozen by the time Roshia cocked her arm back to punch the man again. But Nasir stepped in with a tone that seemed to frighten everyone to their core. Before Atlas was fully able to comprehend what exactly was going on, Roshia was dragging Elwin inside his house. Atlas followed close behind, closing the door behind them. "Uhm...So...Who was that exactly? Its pretty apparent none of you like him." He asked once they were inside.

Rowan

Rowan stood back, his eyes wide while his wife swung at the man that had pulled up in the carriage in front of them, he had planned on pulling her to the side when she wound up to do it again. He didnt want her getting in a fight with a man at all, especially not while pregnant. Nasir spoke up and she stormed off with Elwin and Atlas in tow, threatening to rip the mans throat out. Rowan made a a mental note to never make Roshia angry, in fear that she might try to break his face. His attention snapped back to the man as he introduced himself. Rowan knew of the man but had never formally met him, only knowing him through word of mouth from his father. He had brought wedding gifts for Roshia and him, though Rowan doubted she actually wanted them. Rowan smiled. "Its nice to meet you, i'm Rowan. We appreciate the gifts. I'll show them where to put them right away." He said then instructed the men to drop the gifts off at roshias home, assisting them with it.

Ofelia

Ofelia flinched when Roshia punched the man, and she flinched again when Nasir said "No" in a tone that scared just about everyone standing around him. SHe didnt know what to do when Roshia spat threats at the man and ran off to Elwins house with Elwin and Atlas too. Nasir turned to her and told her that she should be getting home. She agreed with him. He reminded her about meeting up and kissed her forehead then returned to business with the man she now understood to be Marcus. Ofelia glanced at the man before turning and walking back to her own home. She showered the sand and lake off of herself and then made lunch for herself before walking outside to check the fences.

Elwin was too shock to move. He hadn't expected to see Marcus since the day he left him without saying goodbye. Everything from two years ago started to boil inside the pit of his stomach. He hated Marcus, but somewhere deep down still loved him, which Roshia always called him stupid for because he would only get pushed away and treated like some stupid child. It had been that way since he was fourteen.

Elwin held tight to Atlas' hand, afraid if he let go he might go back to Marcus. He was like a magnet and Elwin refused to go back to that. He had Atlas who actually treated him right; who picked him instead of running away from his feelings. When Roshia punched him he had to press his lips together to keep from laughing and at the time to keep himself for telling her to stop. He didn't want Atlas to think Elwin still had feelings, so when Roshia pulled him away he dragged Atlas with him.

Now they were in the house and he let go of Atlas' hand and stared at the floor. "The prince... I am going to shower. The sand is start-" He forgot that he was making baby clothes and he wanted to keep them a secret from Roshia until later. Elwin dash for the table, gathering everything and running to his room. "Okay now I am going to shower. Atlas, please make Roshia eat. She has a baby to feed." He glared at her playfully before going shower, acting like nothing happened before coming into the house.

Image

Roshia was pissed when she saw the carriage and cart. She knew exactly who it was that was in there, so when he stepped out she took the chance to swing. After his last visit Elwin was a mess. He wouldn't eat anything and he buried himself in his work. He wouldn't talk and slept when he was working. Going outside was a joke, he would face the world. She had to live with him till he got better. Every night she could hear him crying. It was a mess and she made a vow she would murder him if she ever saw him, but he kept himself away for a couple years. She thought they were rid of him for good.

Her eyebrow raised at Elwin's dash but let it be. When she heard the shower running she decided to fill Atlas on the details."That piece of shit out there is a piece of shit. He does something to Elwin EVERY time he is here. I don't exactly know what happens behind closed doors with them, but it is something totally different than how he treats Elwin in public. I know he acts some kind of sweet to him in private, but it is like he doesn't treat Elwin the same way in public, like he is ashamed of Elwin or some shit. The first time, we were like fourteen. Something went down with Elwin and Marcus in private, like down down if you know what I mean, and I guess Elwin thought they were a thing and Marcus acted like he was disgusted. It broke Elwin, it always breaks him, and that is when I snapped. I go on a murdering spree every time I see him. As they got older Marcus wouldn't act so disgusted as he would make fun of Elwin for like guys. So I am always confused as why Elwin would go back to him EVERY DAMN TIME." She was fuming.

Image

Nasir knew something was going to go down when he saw the carriage. It was the shit storm he was waiting for. He had to stop Roshia from beating the shit out of Marcus, also he didn't want her to hurt the baby, which is why when he told her no it came out harsher than he expected. He had to snap her out of it. When everyone left he took Marcus to his shop. "You always stirring up some kind of trouble here, Marcus. Roshia doesn't need to be fighting, so if you see her, run the other way because you don't want me to step in." He warned.

Marcus nodded, "I wasn't going to fight her, Nasir. I have changed... also it would be completely pointless since she hands me my ass every damn time." They both shook their heads and sat down in the shop. "Father wants dark wood for everything, doesn't matter what kind as long as it is dark." Nasir nodded taking notes. "If you can, he would like to have gold trims in there, like in the design, which is all up to you. He trusts your work. As for the chairs, same thing. Once you are done you can send word and I will come pick it up since father is so damn determined for me to come back here. I wasn't going to come, Nas, I was going to get someone else but father... you know how he is."

He nodded, knowing full well how his father could be. Nasir and Marcus' fathers were good friends, good enough that Nasir's father would go into battle for him. Last time was right before Haera was born. It tore his father up to miss the birth and a full year. Marcus' father paid him back in land and shipping his own son off for two weeks in the summer and sometimes for the winter months. "Just... leave Elwin alone this time, okay? I know your mother needs dresses, but other than professional business work, try not to mess with him. He has been through some shit recently and how you left him last time... Even I am tempted to throw a punch at you."

Marcus cringed, "I understand. I left him for a good reason, Nas. I didn't want to hurt him anymore. Being in love with your brother is the hardest thing for me. You know no one can know about him, for his safety. I left in the middle of the night so he didn't have to deal with me leaving in the morning." He cleared his throat, smiling a bit, ""I see he has found someone. Good looking guy, which Elwin deserves. He deserves the best... so you know... if the guy breaks his heart, and I know it is calling the kettle black, but let me know and I can get rid of him." Nas smirked which made Marcus laugh.

Nasir got up, "Let's go try to talk to Elwin. I will play body guard." They both laughed as the walked out and to Elwin's house. Nasir knocked while opening the door. Marcus and Nasir walked in just in time to see Elwin walking into the kitchen with just a town on. Elwin turned red from head to toe, while Roshia looked like she was going to murder him and Marcus. "Sorry to barge in... uhm.... yeah Marcus' mom needs some dress... so I will be sitting with the two as they discussed... or we can all sit with them. Just... go put some clothes on Elwin."

Elwin nodded and walked off into his room.

Atlas watched Elwin skitter around to grab all the baby clothes before rushing off to the shower. He got the impression Elwin didnt want to tell him just who Marcus was. But Roshia definitely did. Atlas cooked pasta for everyone while Roshia rambled on about the jack ass known as Marcus. Atlas couldnt help but be annoyed about the way he treated Elwin, but he couldnt talk much since he himself didnt exactly deal with not being straight very well either. But at least he didnt torment anyone like that. He shook his head. "Well it looks like Elwins going to have a hard time getting rid of me until he leaves then. If Marcus thinks he can just waltz in and torment Elwin again, he's got another thing coming to him. I doubt he'll try anything if they dont get a chance to be alone." He said while he cooked. A few minutes later the pasta was done. "Foods done, you better eat while its hot." He said right as Elwin walked out in towel. Atlas opened his mouth to say something to him when Nasir and Marcus walked in. Elwin turned bright red and fled to his bedroom, meanwhile Atlas resisted the urge to glare at Marcus and ate his pasta in the kitchen while Elwin finished getting changed.

Elwin had smelled the pasta and didn't think about putting on clothes, since he had his towel on, and walked right out just when Nasir and Marcus walked in. He froze, the way Marcus was staring at him was the way he always used to when they were alone. Nasir had ordered him to go put clothes on and he did. When he came back Roshia and Atlas were stuffing their faces with pasta.

He walked up to the two men and smiled. "I already have your mother's measurements, do you know what style and colors I can get to them as soon as possible." He tried to hide the shaking in his voice by being professional, but the way Marcus was staring made him nervous, then he smiled and Elwin almost melted.

"Of course, she wants one of the to be empire and to the floor, that one is to be the in the color maroon. The next one she says surprise her, though that one needs to be in gold and blue. She saw one lady wearing one of your creations after she said surprise her, and my mother about lost it. She hasn't stopped talking about it since. Your work is indeed incredible." Marcus' voice was deep and sweet.

"I... I can do that. Tell her I appreciate her comments and love for my work."

Image

Marcus wanted to make a comment on Elwin in only a towel. How he liked that his skin still seemed to me soft and smooth and that he loved the freckles. Better yet he just wanted to touch him, but he knew better. Elwin had someone now and he was going to respect that, or at least try. When Elwin left to get dressed he could feel the tension in the room, but said nothing as he stood by Nasir. He didn't want to mess this up. He was only here to do errands, not Elwin, and leave.

When Elwin finally decided to come out, he got down to business, which was what he wanted to do and Marcus gave him the orders. He thought Elwin had got braver in the time he was gone, though his voice was shaky and his stuttered. Marcus crossed his arms so that he didn't reach out to stroke his face. He was going to leave the village after placing all the orders, but when he looked back at Elwin's boyfriend. He was handsome, alright, but he didn't look like he could save a kitten if he had to. The ego in him rose.

"I see you have a boyfriend now. Cute, hope he can protect you when the time comes. It would be a shame if a prince had to come save you." Marcus chuckled and Nasir sighed. Mentally he facepalmed, he didn't want to start anything, but he couldn't stand seeing Elwin with someone else.

Roshia dropped her plate on the counter and was on the move to get to him, but Nasir gave her a look and she stayed where she was. Marcus looked back at Elwin who was red. "Atlas is very capable of handling things on his own and I don't need saving, but it the chance arises then he can very well step up to the plate. I am in no need of a selfish and delusional prince." Elwin was mad, but his face showed hurt. "I think you know where the door is, Nasir can you take him out of my house now."

Nasir nodded and ushered him out. "I know! I am so sorry... I was all good... I was going to walk out, but then I saw the other guy and was like... there is no way Tiny Tim could save him, but what the fuck do you think I was doing by being away? Ughhhhh! I just fuck everything up when it comes to Elwin. I can fight wars with a clear mind... but Elwin... he just does something to me, ever since we were fucking kids!"

Atlas ate his pasta quietly while they waited for Elwin to get dressed. He was done by the time Elwin came back out and washed his plate just before stood around as Marcus barked orders at Elwin. Everything seemed to be going well, everyone was acting in a very professional way. But Marcus for whatever reason had to comment on Atlas' ability to protect Elwin if needed. Roshia would have murdered him on the spot if Nasir hadnt given her the look that he did, and Atlas watched as Roshia froze in her spot, looking more irritated than he had ever seen. Atlas didnt bother reacting to the jesting of a man he didnt know, it didnt bother him at all. It sure as hell bothered Elwin though, and boy did he rip Marcus a new one. Atlas leaned back on the counter while they walked out of the door and closed it. "So...Who wants tea?" He asked, moving along as to not dwell on the unfortunate situation that had just occurred.

Marcus had started walking towards the carriage with Nasir when he stopped. He turned around and saw Roshia going into her own home and took the opportunity to finally express his feelings. He had to have Elwin. He would fight for him even if it killed him."I am sorry, Nas. I have to try now more than ever." Marcus ran back to Elwin's house and banged on his door and screamed through it, "Elwin James Keavaris. I fucking love you! I know I have treated you less than you deserved. I was a scared fool. I just wanted you to be safe. I didn't want my enemies to become yours. I was a fucking fool. I need you Elwin... more than you can ever imagine. So I am going to fight for your heart back. I am sorry, Elwin's boyfriend, but he is worth fighting for." He took a deep breath and leaned his head against the door.

Image

Elwin stood there for a moment taking it all in. Roshia had declined saying she had to go and help Rowan and walked out. "I would love a cup." He smiled up at Atlas and walked over, hugging him from behind and kissing between his shoulders. Elwin had just let go when he heard the bang on the door and Marcus' confession. Everything in Elwin tensed up. The very thing he wanted from Marcus finally came, but at the wrong time. He teared up, feeling his heart breaking all over again, but it stirred too. He didn't know what to do.

Elwin turned to Atlas with a sorry face, "I will be right back, just... give me a moment.." Elwin kissed Atlas' cheek before opening the door and pushed pass Marcus and closing the door. "You have no right doing that, Marcus!" He whispered, trying not to cry.

"I am a selfish man when it comes to you, Elwin. If this guy loves you as much as I do... he can fight, because you are worth it." He cupped the side of his face and ran a thumb on his cheek. "I left because I wanted to protect you, but all I ever thought about was you and how can I make a better place for you? I was so stupid to have treated you like that, just so I could make it easier for you to hate me. So when it came for me to finally say goodbye for the last time you still loved me..." Marcus' face turned soft.

Image

Roshia had to decline tea. She just wanted to be with Rowan right now. She excused herself and walked into her house and straight to him. He had his back toward her, but she hugged him and kissed his shoulder. "I love you... for the things that you do." She blushed hard for what came out her mouth and tried to save herself. It felt like an awkward silence when she heard Marcus screaming his confession to Elwin. She hugged him tighter. "If I let go I am going to walk out of this house and murder him." She mumbled into his back.

Atlas was happy when Elwin came up and hugged his back, but he didnt stay there long. Marcus apparently ran back up to the door and started yelling, professing his love for Elwin. Atlas let out a sigh after Elwin gave him a sad look and said to give him a minute. Elwin disappeared out the door and closed it tightly behind him. Atlas shook his head and made tea. He didnt want to think about what they were talking about and he tried not to worry about it. Elwin had made it pretty clear a few minutes ago that he didnt want a selfish, delusional prince. Atlas was however worried about the how Marcus being around would take a toll on Elwins well being. He walked to the door and opened it, pulling Elwin back into the house. " I'm not going to let you hurt him again. Elwin's happier when you arent around. If you really love him, youd let go of your selfish desires and move on. He doesnt need someone who torments him in his life. You came and finished the business you had with him, dont torment him any longer by sticking around, only because you cant stand to see him happy with someone else. I think you've caused enough commotion today, you should just leave." Atlas walked back into the house and shut the door, locked it and walked over to pour he and Elwin some tea.

Rowan was busy trying to figure out where to put all the gifts that Marcus had delivered when Roshia walked in and hugged his back. She said she loved him, then tried to cover it up by saying it was because of the things he does. Rowan smiled and turned around, hugging Roshia tightly. "Well, I love you too." He whispered as he held her close and rubbed her back. "Dont worry, I wont let you run off to murder people. You cant leave if i dont let go." He before cupping her cheek and kissing her.

Elwin couldn't move, his heart was racing. He was about to answer when the door opened and Atlas pulled him in. " I'm not going to let you hurt him again. Elwin's happier when you aren't around. If you really love him, you'd let go of your selfish desires and move on. He doesn't need someone who torments him in his life. You came and finished the business you had with him, don't torment him any longer by sticking around, only because you cant stand to see him happy with someone else. I think you've caused enough commotion today, you should just leave."

Elwin stared at Marcus with an sad expression, but held on to the bottom of Atlas shirt. He would choose Atlas over Marcus, right? He didn't say anything when Atlas closed the door and locked it, but he sat down and watched Atlas pour them tea, "Look at you being a good house wife." His voice shook.

Image

Marcus watched as the door opened and Elwin was pulled back. He didn't have time to say anything when the door closed in his face. He smirked. "You might have won this time, but I will be back in two months for my orders. Elwin, love, think about what I said, okay?" Marcus patted Nasir's shoulder before hopping into his carriage and riding off, thinking of ways he could win Elwin over, he just needed to get him alone.

Image

Roshia smiled stretched from ear to ear when he told her he loved her. She loved being in his arms. She kissed him back, before tugging at his shirt, "You are a good man, Mr. Rowan. I couldn't have asked for better."

Elwin blushed, "Shh don't say stuff that makes me blush. I actually need to step out for bit and I need you to watch over the house while I am gone. Roshia always digs when she knows I am hiding stuff from her. So I need you to like... make sure she doesn't start digging. I know... after today she is a bit scary. Just like... guard the place. Okay? Thank you!" His placed the cup on his table and went over, kissing Atlas on the cheek before heading out the door.

He ran hoping he could catch up with Marcus. Elwin was getting to the lake when he saw the carriage at the Tavern. He hurried over, getting to the door, and catching his breath. When he was ready he walked in and saw him with a glass of whisky in his hand. Marcus looked up and smirked, "I knew you would come for me." He had was sitting at the bar. Elwin sat next to him. "I only came because I deserve answers." Elwin said. He was angry and the feeling in his heart needed to be put to rest.

"Answers to what?" He asked innocently.

"You know what! You come back after two years. Why did you have to come back when I am at my happiest and finally decide to confess to me?" Elwin needed to know.

Marcus downed the rest of his whisky and placed the glass on the bar before turning to Elwin, "I wasn't planning on coming back after I left you. I made a vow never to step foot back in the village, but of course my father just had to put his nose where it shouldn't be. Said I had to make a visit since it had been so long. I was going to leave you alone, because you deserved to be safe and I was just torturing us both. It was the most selfless thing I have ever done." His golden eyes glanced away from his and Marcus ran his hand over his mouth. "I had a plan all figured out when I learned I was coming over. I was going to place the orders and leave. Simple, but then I saw you with that map dude and something snapped." He placed a hand on Elwin's knee, "You are all I ever think about, you are all I ever wanted, you have to know that."

Elwin shoved his hand off, "You made your choice two years ago. You have no right to confess to me now of all times."

Marcus' golden eyes grew dark, "If you want me to leave you so badly tell me to go and never come back. Tell me to never see you again and I will do so, but they have to come from YOUR beautiful mouth, no one elses." Elwin blushed. He got silent and Marcus waited for him to say it, but he couldn't, no matter how much he wanted to. His heart just wouldn't let him.

Elwin stood up, "I have to g-." Marcus pulled him down to him and kissed his lips. Everything got silent to him. He wanted to pull away, but like a magnet he drew closer before Atlas' face popped into his mind. Elwin shoved Marcus away, tear in his eyes as he held his hand over his mouth.

Marcus smirked, "You still love me. I still have a chance. Let the war begin." He said over his empty glass. Elwin backed up before turning around and ran out. He ran till he was at the secret beach and screamed. He was tired of it all. For once he just wanted to be happy without some obstacle coming up. He stayed there for a while before drying his eyes and heading back home.

Roshia smiled. She stood straight and stretched. Cossie slowly looked around at Rowan and glared, like how dare he bring another dragon into his house. Roshia laughed then, "Don't be such a grump, Cossie. And you," she turned to Rowan, "should try bonding with him as I go to Elwin and check up on him." She kissed him before walking out and to her brother's house. She opened the door to see Atlas alone. "Where is Elwin?"

"He left. Kissed my cheek and ran off, said he needed to "step out" which I assume means he decided to run after whats his face. Since he used you as an excuse to have me stay here. He was out the door before I even had a chance to say one word." Atlas said, his head resting on the table. He was mad at himself for not trying to convince Elwin to stay, though it wasnt like Elwin gave him much time to say much of anything. "Whatever happened is probably over by now, assuming he caught up to the carriage, hes been gone for a good minute" He said glancing at the door. "I guess we'll find out what he decided he wants when he gets back"

Marcus decided to come into town early when he got a letter that Nasir would be finish a month early with everything and that Elwin was already done with the dresses. He was pretty excited, he hadn't seen Elwin since that bar night and he had hoped he had come to senses and would pick him. They had been knowing each other the longest and he knew Elwin could forgive him and love him. It had been done so many times.

He stood outside one of the most expensive inns in the city. His father wanted him to have some kind of security, though he knew his father had a secret motive for this man to be here.

"Father sent you with me, what for?" he asked when they were in private.

Barbarossa glared at Marcus disdainfully, then chuckled.

"You are Marcus, Ja? I am to transport you to the Keavaris village.", said Barbarossa in a thick german accent. He took a long drink from a flagon shortly before abruptly throwing it at a passing rat like a throwing knife, killing it instantly. He wiped his mouth with his sleeve and said,"Shall we move?"

"We are here."
As Aaron led Marcus to the final destination, he asked him a question. in his thick German accent.
"I have request for you. You see, sometimes, when I'm not working, I don't have anyone else at home. Just me. So, could you help me find a pet? I know its an odd request but, well, can you?"

Marcus was going to kill his father. He never needed an escort before so why now? Did his father here about his confession the last time he was here? Or was there someone coming for Elwin? "If you go that way," He pointed in the direction of the dragon farm, "you will find a lady who owns dragons. I hear she has all different sizes. Find you one and I will pay for whatever you get if you leave now and go to her." He was getting annoyed that he had to be babysat somewhere where we had been to over a thousand and one times.

Elwin laughed, running his fingers through Atlas' hair. He loved his mop hair, he loved everything about him. He was in a happy place when he heard the voices outside, Marcus and some other man were here. "We can hope, looks like someone is with him. So he might not try anything after all." He kissed Atlas quickly before walking over to the door and opening it just in time to see Marcus point in a direction. "Hello men, I see you two are here for some dresses? Come in, they are ready and marvelous!" He wasn't going to let Marcus get him down. He could see Marcus annoyed with the fact that he had someone with him. Marcus walked in and looked at Atlas, a smirk on his face. "I see a choice was made. Good. Mother is going to love the dresses." Elwin saw his hand come up and was going to back away, but Marcus just patted his head and handed him the sack of money.

"Keep it here will you? I don't want to drag them back to the room and have something happen to'em. Mother would murder me and we both know none of us would want that." He laughed.

Roshia and Daryl looked up to see Rowan walk in. They both smiled, but Daryl got up and shook his hand. "You must be the man who married Roshia, congratulations on the marriage and kid on the way. I am Daryl, a family friend, and that pink headed doll out there is my daughter Genevieve. Pleasure to finally be able to meet you." He said, smiling at him. They were both the same height and clearly different after that except for personality wise. She started to realize that they were so close in personality. Her heart dropped. Here she was with a Daryl after all.

"Ah yeah, this is Rowan. Rowan, Daryl and I go way back to like... diapers. His parents owned the farm across the lake. He decided to move back in and now he decided to pick up where he left off... by driving me nuts." She laughed with Daryl. Though she wasn't off about picking up where they left off, he didn't want to drive her crazy. Especially now that she had a family of her own.

"It comes naturally...big brother personality. You treating her right?" Daryl asked, his voice a little serious now.

Atlas smiled at Elwin when he kissed him. "Remember, punch him in the nads if he does" He said with a wink before Elwin opened the door. Atlas decided to mind his own business and eat a muffin while they talked. He munched away while Marcus looked at him and smirked. Atlas gave him a small wave and kept eating. He listened to him speak about his mother killing him if the dresses got ruined and how no one wanted that. Atlas wished Marcus would fall off the island in some horrific carriage accident though, he didnt let his face convey his wishes though, instead just looking bored with the situation.

Erorn followed the directions given to him directly from King Hilyard. He was wearing normal clothes today, the heat was far too high to be using his heavy armor. “I can’t believe he sent me to guard the prince! I’m not a gods damned babysitter!” Erorn cursed as he traveled to the Keavaris Village. He walked down the path from the dragon ranch where he was dropped off. He pulled out a small piece of parchment with directions from the ranch to the places where the Prince was supposed to stop. “Alright, let’s see here. There’s the guy who was making the Queen’s dresses and the guy making the furniture. Or there’s the possibility that he’s back at the hotel. Shit, if I were a stuck-up spoiled, rich brat where would I go?” He snarled sarcastically. “A guide for hire who hunts vermin is not a proper body guard, but no the King was sure there was nothing to worry about. Then he changes his mind half-way into the prince’s vacation. Well I suppose I’ll start at the beginning.” He followed the directions to Elwin’s house to see if the prince was there picking up the dresses. He saw the prince standing in the doorway of the elf’s house talking to him. “Your Highness! Your Highness!” He called out to the prince. “Good, it wasn’t as hard for me to find you as I thought it would be.” He saw the look of confusion on the prince’s face and seeing that he was in normal clothing with a sword at his side, Erorn quickly realized why. “I’m sorry to interrupt, your highness, but the King has sent me to be your body guard for the remainder of your trip. Here’s the paper work.” He handed the prince a rolled up parchment with the official royal seal on it with the orders for Erorn to guard Marcus.

Roshia turned around just as Rowan was walking in. She smiled and leaned in a bit when he kissed her cheek. "Thanks and it was good, got to hear how he suckered this poor woman into falling for him and how Gene came to be. Then I came up with a plan to win Gene over. We at war now... but they are staying for dinner." Daryl raised an eyebrow at her before laughing. "I will fight to the death, Roshia. She is my precious, I can't have her just fall in love with some wicked wo-"

Daryl was interrupted by Gene riding in on Cossie. The dragon didn't seem to mind. "We smell yummy food. Daddy can we stay? Cossie said he wants me to stay for dinner." He whispered back.

Daryl and Roshia laughed, "Well it is you two's lucky day! Roshia has kindly invited us to stay over and eat this yummy food with her and her husband." Gene and Cossie seemed to cheer in unison. Roshia giggled and served the plates while they all sat down.

"So Rowan, tell me about yourself. How did find the Isles and Roshia?" He asked before taking a bite. Roshia and Gene whispered and giggled with each other as the men talked.

Elwin didn't have time to answer when Marcus turned around. At first he saw nothing, but then he looked down to the kid saying he was ordered by his father to guard him. He growled, clearly annoyed. "Now my father is just fucking insulting me. He really sent a damn kid... a fucking kid to protect me. ME." Marcus sighed and turned to Elwin, "I am just going to head back to the kingdom, my father has apparently lost his damn mind. I will get someone to fetch them, so don't be alarmed when a stranger comes knocking and asking for my mother's dresses. Can you tell Nas that I will send someone for the furniture too? Thanks." He turned around and walked passed the two guards and down the to the path that lead out of the village.

Erorn clenched his teeth with all the force of a bear trap as he looked up at the Marcus' agitated face.
"With all due respect, your Highness, I'm only three years younger than yourself, I'm hardly a child." He snarled up at him. "And while I'm aware that my stature can lead to some wildly inaccurate assumptions about my abilities, let me assure you that your father's trust was not misplaced in me." Erorn's tone began to relax slightly. "I'm the highest ranking guard at the palace and prior to that I worked my way through the ranks of the royal army and became one of the highest ranking knights in the kingdom. So I'm more than capable of guarding you for the remainder of your little vacation, your Highness." He turned away and took a few steps before pausing. "And for the record, I'm not thrilled about this either, but I hardly think it warrants cutting your vacation short. Your father has not lost his mind, but he does worry about you and that's why he sent his best guard."

Elwin kept walking until they were by the lake when he turned around. "Look, kid... or whatever your name is, I was sent here three weeks ago by myself. I don't need gramps and the kid to protect me. I am cutting this shit short. It is an insult and a slap in the face from my father." He growled and continued walking. He stopped again, "You said the BEST? If he thinks you are the best we should be training taller and stronger men. I am sure you can swing that sword some kind of way, but you are better as someone's play toy, not as someone's protector." Marcus got back to walking, slamming the inn doors open and going up to his room. He grabbed everything and shoved it into the carriage. "You can either walk or you can get in. We are going back." He watched as the old man climbed in and waited for the small redhead to climb in.

"My name is Erorn, not that you care. Yes I am the best guard your family has, and yes there are plenty of taller and stronger men in the guard ... and I kicked each of their asses." He growled at Marcus. "And quite frankly I couldn't care less if you want to leave early. The less time I have to spend guarding a spoiled shit like yourself, the better. But mark my words, the next time you call me kid, I'm gonna make your ass the new sheath for my sword. Are we clear, your Highness?" He sneered, his hand on the hilt of his sword ready to draw it.

Marcus laughed, he liked the kid's spunk. Marcus walked away from the carriage and leaned into him, "I find you extremely cute when you angry, Erorn, but don't you threaten me with a good time if you can't deliver. Now, get in the damn carriage or you are walking home." He straightened up and walked back to the door waiting for the kid to get in.

Erorn brushed off the empty compliment as just that. It was nothing more than a cheap ploy to distract him from his duties and rile him up further. He wouldn't give that spoiled brat the satisfaction. "Believe me, I'm more than capable of delivering on my threat." He said as he climbed into the carriage. He resolved to focus on his work even harder and to not pay anymore attention to the prince. He kept his eyes out the window as the carriage left the hotel, trying to remain vigilant looking for any sign of trouble or assassins.
"So what's the deal between you and your father? Why are you so pissed at him?" He asked without even turning his head away from the window.
