Description

Image
Name:
Nadia Crowley

Age:
16

Gender:
Female

Race:
Human

Appearance:
Nadia stands at five feet and four inches tall and is likely to get a little bit taller. She has fair skin and striking green eyes. Her hair is a silvery color and hangs just below her shoulders. She often keeps it tied up in a bun with some loose strands hanging around her face. Despite her age Nadia is very much already built like a woman with the curves to prove it. She trains with her father so she is kept fit, since she often accompanies her father on his hunting trips.

Personality:
Nadia is often seen by others as cold and quiet. She doesnt mind other people, though she sees no point in the constant tiptoeing that people to to protect social politeness. With people who can handle her personality she becomes fast friends with, allowing herself to joke and enjoy her time with them much like a regular teenage girl. Shes not one for overly fancy dresses or tea parties and would rather be left to do things with her hands, or in the wilderness. She'd actually rather train than attend some silly brunch.

History:
Nadia was born to a mother and father who didnt exactly plan on having children, though they kept her anyways. Her father softened when she was born, previously a royal guard for the king he moved on to a safer occupation when she was born. They moved to Veritas Isle and began a new life with their daughter. Nadia became her fathers entire world quickly. Her mother and he had never been as close as she was with her father, but they still love each other. Her parents became fast friends with a couple they had met through work and through that arrangement Nadia became childhood friends with their son as well. As kids they were inseparable, but the older they got the more they tend to do their own thing, though they still hang out a lot and maintain that friendship with each other.

Mari nodded and walked into the other room. "i'm gonna take her and see if Masami will lend her a book or two." She said and her mother nodded. She came back and then blinked. "Hold on, one minute. Real pants are needed." She said and went upstairs and got some jeans and a sweater on and a pair of boots before running back down. "Alright, good to go." She said and grabbed her hand and led her over to Masami's place and knocked on the door. A girl older than them with silver hair and green eyes opened the door. "Hey Nadia!" Mari said and Nadia cracked a little bit of a smile before looking back. "Hey, its Mari, and a friend of hers I guess?" She said to Masami. "Her names May, she's new." Mari explained and Nadia looked at May before nodding and moving to let them in. "Hey Masami, May here heard you got hella books and she was wondering about borrowing a couple?" Mari said, waving at Masami.

Mayelle giggled a bit when Mari commented that she needed real pants. She'd thought that Mari was wearing real pants, and they'd looked cute on her, but she didn't question it. She smiled when Mari came back, letting the other girl take her by the hand and lead her away. She followed Mari through town to another house. She was curious about the girl who opened the door, and a grin came to her lips when she realized that it was Mari's friend Nadia, who she'd mentioned before. "Hi!" she said politely to Nadia before she and Mari headed inside. She smiled when she saw Masami. He looked like a nice boy. It helped that she already knew about his love of books.

Masami looked up from one of the books he was reading and blinked, "But... what if she doesn't return them?" He asked, smiling a bit to let them know he was joking and got up. The new girl was cute and he really liked her hair. "Hi, I hear you heard about me and I know how told you. Uncle Q has gotten me a lot of books over the course of my life." He said with a small smile. "Nad might look like she bites, only sometimes though." He said and reached from behind her and made her smile. "See... such a sweetheart." He laughed.

Mari stood there and just shook her head. "I got her, you'll get them back. Bet you she reads one in a day." Se said and looked over at May before looking at Nadia and bursting out laughing. Nadia swatted Masami's hands away. "Knock it of Masa." She said and leaned against the wall away from him. Mari leaned over. "She's always kinda grumpy." She whispered to May and Nadia gave her a look. "I am not grumpy." She said and Mari blinked. "Yeah? And im not wearing any makeup." She said sarcastically which made Nadia smirk a little.

Mayelle giggled as she watched the exchange between the friends. She hoped that she'd feel comfortable enough to joke around with the rest of them soon. She smiled over at Masami. "I can probably read one in a day," she told him in a gentle voice. "And I will definitely, absolutely return them. You have my word," she said softly.

Masami moved away from Nadia and nodded, "Sounds good. I have tons, you are bound to find something you like. Take whatever you want." He said and walked with them to his room. "I have this room, which is my bedroom, " He opened the door and showed his bed and nothing but shelves and one poster of a writer, signed, plus a window. "Then the next room over is a room filled with books. We are building a library that I will be in charge of." He laughed softly, clearly excited.

Mari happily followed along with Masami, Nadia hung back a little bit though. She wasnt so sure about the new girl, but then again it took her weeks to get used to Mari...Mari seemed less...Delicate..Though, all things considered. Mari looked at the room full of books and shook her head. "And my parents think I have a make up hoarding problem. I'm just gonna bring them here and watch them eat their words." She said with a giggle. "I swear one day a shelf is gonna tip and we're going to lose poor Masa." Nadia said and pinched Masami's cheek. "Knowing him, he'd be fine getting buried alive in books." She said and gave him a look.

Mayelle grinned as she followed him. She couldn't believe how many books there were in his bedroom. She walked straight to one of the shelves, running her finger delicately along the spines of the books and then turning her gaze towards the autographed poster. "I know that name," she said softly, glancing over her shoulder at him. "It was one one of the books my tribe had. I can't remember which one is was, though..." Mayelle giggled at Nadia's comment about a shelf tipping over and burying Masami alive in books. She'd never even imagined seeing so many books in one place. The shelves were a brilliant way of storing them to keep them safe and display the spines.

Masami watched with a smiled before looking back at Nadia, "Aww you know I wouldn't mind being buried in you though." He winked and then backed away from her laughing. He walked over to Mayelle, "I have read that one many times while waiting on other books to come in. Like is said take as many as you want. Can you really read a book in one day?" He asked her, a bit excited.

Nadia gave Masami a look and then rolled her eyes. "In your dreams kiddo." She shook her head. Mari blinked and thought about it for a second and then made a face like Masami was a gross boy. "Ugh, lets not flirt in front of May. She's new here. She is too pure for you two!" She said and giggled. "But she's fine with you huh?" Nadia joked and Mari grinned. "Mhm! All I can do is corrupt her and turn her towards some fantastic makeup. You two will get her lost in fiction stories and...Boys..." She said and Nadia just shrugged.

Mayelle raised an eyebrow at Masami's comment about getting buried in her. Did he mean, like, getting lost in her? She'd heard that before. It was supposed to be sweet, but Nadia and Mari both seemed to react as if it was gross. She laughed a bit when Mari said that she was too pure for Nadia and Masami. "Mari did my makeup this morning! I think it looks really pretty," she said. She paused, her gaze noticing a book on the shelf, and then she grabbed it and pulled it off, carefully flipping it over to read the description on the back. It looked interesting.

Masami looked at Mayelle, "Mari usually does good work, she made me pretty once. Almost got all the boys until they realized I was a guy." He sighed. "Some of them were pretty cute too!" He pouted and leaned over Nadia. "Hold me, I feel so alone." He said and smiled. "Oh you should read that one.... you are going to love the ending." He said before gently rubbing Nadia's cheek. "So handsome."

Mari couldnt help but laugh. "It was hilarious! Their faces when they realized you were a boy, I LIVE for a moment like that." She said and shook her head. "I tried with Nadia once, and she just refused so much. Eyeliner only for that woman." She said and huffed a little bit. Nadia raised an eyebrow at Masami and patted his arm. "There, there." She said sarcastically and then sighed. "Uhm, Obviously, Masa. Thats why you're so gay for me. I cant just sit there and look pretty Mari, though you probably could paint me like some fair maiden." She teased.

Mayelle laughed as she listened to the rest of them recounting the story of Mari doing makeup on Masami. It definitely sounded funny. She grinned when Masami told her that the book was good, though, and she glanced over at him. "I have a feeling that you'd say that no matter which book I picked," she told him softly, her brown eyes sparkling and a smile on her lips.

Masami laughed and stood up, "Well one day we can do that again with May around. I am up for it again." He said and then smiled at her. "Maybe... jjuuusssttt maybe." He said and looked at Meri, "Soooo what have you been up to with May? Besides shoving making up and anything chocolate down her throat. Poor girl." He smiled and played with Nadia's hair.

Mari thought about it. "Well, I took her to the tree of course, she was miffed she couldnt climb the thing too. And we went to a bakery and to the lake, and then we hung out at a playground until I had to go home. That was all yesterday. But today hot chocolate and makeup was all we really got to today. Other than talking about school and stuff. Most things here are new to her she lived with some tribe before and they didnt come into cities like this. She didnt know what a playground was, so naturally I had to take her to swing." She said and Nadia raised an eyebrow. "The nomadic elf ones? Dad and I have run into a few different tribes of nomadic elves while out on hunting and fishing trips." She said, letting Masa play with her hair.

Mayelle giggled when Masami mentioned chocolate and makeup. It was clear that he knew Mari quite well. She quietly listened while Mari told them all about what they'd gotten up to. That pretty much summed it up. When Nadia questioned the tribe she'd been with, Mayelle nodded quickly. "Yes, a nomadic elf tribe," she said. She lifted one hand and brushed her thick red curls aside so they could see the pointed ears that hid beneath them. "You've met them? What do you think?" she asked, genuinely curious to hear Nadia's thoughts on the tribes.

Masa listened to the three. He fixed Nadia's hair the way he liked it since it showed off her pretty face. "I read about a lot of the nomadic tribes that were here. The ones that make up the village, or rather the father, is actual from a family of royal elves. Apparently his great great great grandfather broke away from the royal court to live with his family while the islands hadn't been so populated. Of course most of that family have returned to the elf court, but one son always stayed on the farm. So now the Keavaries have been here... shoot... for a good bit. The wife of the old farmer is from a dwarf tribe that moved on the island some bit after the Keavaries had."

"Anyway, from what I have heard they serve the kingdom now... I believe two just came back from war with their father. I know one is married to the Mayor's son. She is hot hot hot and is rumored to be the embodiment of a goddess. They say the way she hunts isn't like anything anyone has seen and then the youngest daughter is being called a goddess too for how well she heals people." He laughed. "And don't get me started on Ofelia, the lady with the dragons. Her family has been here for so long... much longer than the Keavaries. I am shocked the two families hadn't emerged sooner. Then a couple of the cousins have moved back, one is like a giant, over seven feet tall! And his sister, Dol... who is... hot damn a DOLL... is like tiny... like an inch or so shorter than Naddie here." He said and patted her head.

Masa laughed, "If you want to play around the lakes and stuff you are bound to see the families. Roshia, the huntress, is always running around. How the Mayor's son got her is beyond me... he is friendly, but he wasn't like... the marrying type. Though oddly enough they look really well together... and their twins are hella cute. White as snow like their father and dear lord their eyes! Red with green speckles... there was this on girl who like... they didn't even know went to go and touch her baby and Roshia nearly snapped her arm in half. Mmmm she reminds me of Naddie... scary but gorgeous." He smiled and squished her face, "How can you say no to this?" He asked.

Mari just nodded along to what Masami was saying. "My mama says that Ofelia's moms family belonged to the tribe that first came here, so her family has lived here since the first people stepped foot on the island." She said. Nadia looked at Masa and shook her head. "Did you just call me tiny..?" She said and sighed a little when he squished her face. "Most people dont, Masa." She said with a little bit of a smirk before patting his head and turning towards May. "The people I met were alright, little wary of a lone hunter and his daughter, but they were decent enough towards us. Not hostile at least." She said.

Mayelle listened to Masami talk, totally intrigued and enthralled by what he was saying. His level of knowledge and the things he had to say were fascinating and she could definitely see them becoming fast friends. She did, of course, have to laugh a bit when he mentioned that people thought that two of the daughters of this family were goddesses, because of course that couldn't be true. When Nadia commented that the tribe she'd met had been decent but wary, she nodded slightly. "That sounds about right. We're always wary of outsiders, but of course, we know that our tribes have to live in harmony with the human settlements in order to prevent, you know, wars and stuff." She giggled a bit before looking between the three of them. "So, um...Masami mentioned goddesses. Can I ask about, you know, the beliefs in the city? What gods and goddesses people here worship? I'm assuming that's going to be quite different from my tribe, but I'm curious now."

Masa smirked at Nadia and poked her cheek, "You can be cute sometimes... sometimes." He said before sitting down. "Hmm they are a few religions. There are Catholics who believe in one god. There are pagans who believe in mother nature and stuff like that and then you have some who believe in more than one god. Like the god/goddess of war, goddess of love, goddess of fertility and there are so many that I could sit here all day just going through then and the last time I did that Naddie punched me. She didn't even kiss me booboo away." He pouted before smiling. "What about your tribe, what do they or you believe in?" He asked.

Nadia rolled her eyes at Masa and then sighed. "I did not punch him. I just..shoved him over...a little bit..." She said and Mari just shook her head and looked at May. "Thats loving coming from her, dont be too concerned about it." She said with a little bit of a giggle. "Honestly i'd probably wanna punch him too it gets so boring. lots of things get really similar so its repetitive." She said with a little bit of a shrug. "My dad only believes in treating the land right, and itll treat you right too. So its all lost on me." Nadia said.

Mayelle was almost relieved when Masami listed off all the different belief systems present in the city. She'd half-expected to hear that everyone was expected to believe one thing and follow one system. "We're part of the latter, we've got a pantheon of elven gods that provide various blessings or hindrances to our tribe, depending on whether we please or displease them," she replied with a smile. An intelligent girl like her was always bound to have her doubts when it came to things like that, though she never vocalized them and always tried her hardest to believe. If it was all true, after all, then to not believe would displease the gods.

Masa listened and smiled, "I am going to have to ask sometime later about your gods.. I wouldn't mind knowing more about them... huh may even write about them if that is the case.. I don't know if it is the same belief as the elf courts that the Keavaris' are from." He said. Then he looked around the room and notice he was once again the only guy in the group. "Naddie you gotta get a cool boyfriend... wait no... how many guys my age can say they have a group of good looking girls? Girls that are friends... girlfriends." He smirked and winked at her before laughing. "Nahh people think I am gay." He sighed. "I flirt with one damn guy... and dress as a a girl to trick guys... and I am gay." He laughed.

Nadia smirked a little at the mention of her getting a cool boyfriend. "Working on it kiddo. Got a date tonight." She said and shook her head. Mari blinked. "Oh! I met May while running, literally, away from a date with Lance. He asked me out, and I just bolted. Smacked right into May and knocked her over." She said and tried not to laugh. " And people call me the violent one." Nadia joked.
