Ollie Jacobs's Story

Adrian thought about it for a second. He didnt look Lorelei in the eyes when she stared at him because it always made him nervous when he did. And he was afraid he'd try to kiss her again if he did. He looked back at Misha and nodded. "Yeah I bet he did. He cried when I was on time for work the other day. So he probably sobbed on his wedding night. " He said and then looked down at a candy wrapper on his desk. He balled it up and chucked in into a little wire trashcan a few feet away, but it hit the rim and bounced out of it. Adrian sighed in defeat and put his head back on the desk.



Misha chuckled and nodded. "I did indeed sob. I sobbed when my children were born too." He said, seeming proud that he had children to cry about. "Maybe one day, when you're older, you two will understand." He said with a chuckle, knowing it was unlikely for either of them to really understand an emotion that strong. Adrian might have been able to, if he would stop shutting them off all the time, but he wasnt sure about Lorelei yet.



Ofelia giggled about Roshia getting baby fever so soon after she had her own children. And that she thought Rowan would have to go on a fishing trip so that they wouldnt have more kids so soon. Roshia was interrupted by the cutest little girl running in and slamming a drawing down. It looked like Roshia holding Rowan and some other mans hand with Gene next to Roshia. The little girl started talking to Ofelia about her "face drawings" and her hair. "Oh, well thank you. You have very pretty hair too!" She said, bending down to Genes level. Her father came running in a few moments later talking about how fast she was. Ofelia giggled. "I guess I'll have to take up running to keep up" She said with a small sigh.



Rowan laughed at Roshia saying he'd need to take a fishing trip, and the Gene came running in with a picture. He chuckled and waved hello at her while she was talking to Ofelia. "See? I told you she's fast Roshia. Daryl agrees with me. Oh, by the way Gene, you left something over here i've been meaning to have you take home." He walked into the bedroom and came back with the pressed flowers she had made in the summer. "I'm pretty sure theyre done by now" He said handing her the book they were in.

Atlas peeked into Elwins office just in time to hear them joking about him looking good in a dress. "Guess who's home early, and would apparently look fabulous in a dress!" He said as he walked in an evil smirk on his face. "I'm going to get you for that later Elwin." He said as he walked over and kissed him on the forehead, as he waved at Ollie. "Things still good with the baby?" He asked standing up straight and stretching.

She patted his head softly and turned away. "I wonder if me missing out on these emotions of yours is a good thing now that I see you... and then there is my sister... she cries for everything too now." She said before going over and picking up Adrian's balled up paper and placed it in the trash can. She wanted to ask Misha something, but not when Adrian was in the room. So she took Misha's sleeve and walked to the break room and was happy no one was there. "Misha... I have a question or two. So you know how I love the crematory room? Part of it is because of the warmth... but I like being with them before they finally go, like they aren't truly alone." She didn't look up at him. Instead she looked down and tugged at her sweater, "And... the night of the wedding I was forced to dance with Adrian, which was okay, but my chest had began to hurt. Then when we at the end of the island, where it drops off... when he kissed me... I was... I don't know, but my heart was racing and it was hard to breath. But what really boggles my mind is... I was looking down at at the blackness and I wanted to fall in. To be wrapped up in it, kind of like what I think happens to those in here." She was shocked to feel tears go down her cheek. She had no idea why she would be crying.



Roshia laughed at Rowan and Daryl, "She just wants to have fun... and Forrest wants to escape." She held her hand over her mouth and she laughed more. Gene told Ofelia thank you and rubbed Roshia's belly.

"Daddy said you will have your babies soon! Two babies! How are two going to come out?! You and Row could each have one so you don't have to fight over her. I am so excited. Daddy says you are go-" Daryl covered her mouth and laughed. "Ahh yeah... I am sorry for her interrupting you all. Gene what do you say to Rowan?" He moved his hand and she smiled big.

"Thank you, Row! I really enjoyed pressing flowers with your. You will be a good daddy. The twinsies are going to have lots of fun with you. Nice to meet you Rosie's friend!" She giggled and ran out. Daryl apologized again and went chasing after her.



Elwin and Ollie laughed. "You got caught, El." Elwin looked at Atlas scared before chuckling. "So things are okay at the other cafe? I was a bit worried." He said before putting the last pin in.

Ollie and Atlas still wasn't close. Atlas just kind of accepted her being there and carrying Elwin's child. She knew he care for her, but she didn't let Elwin know. He was pretty dense when it came to them two. "The baby is fine. Though I have to drink this god awful tea for a few more months, just in case." Elwin laughed at her face and she stuck out her tongue at him.

Adrian stayed with his head down for a minute, and when he looked up, Misha and Lorelei were gone. He wondered why they decided to leave. He got up and wandered the halls for a second, getting to the break room just in time to hear everything Lorelei said. He stayed near the door where they couldnt see him, not wanting to interupt. Adrian didnt know what to do knowing that he mad Lorelei feel that way. He hated it, feeling like it was his fault. He peeked in just in time to see Lorelei crying. Adrians mind went darker than it had been in a while and he walked past the break room and out the door. He didnt want to be around Lorelei knowing that he made her feel that way. He didnt stay long enough to hear Misha's reply, instead just walking out. He passed Blair on the way out who tried to talk to him, but he was so numb to everything that he didnt even hear him.




Misha was a little confused about why Lorelei didnt want to talk in front of Adrian, but he went along with her anyways. He listened to her speak and it soon became clear why she wanted to talk alone. He was glad she felt he was someone she could talk to, and he understood what she was talking about, how she was feeling. He was surprised to hear that Adrian had kissed her though. "Well Lorelei, wanting to disappear into the darkness and identifying with the dead are signs of depression. A strong sadness that takes hold of you and makes you feel that way. Unfortunately it probably stems from the lack of emotions you feel. Adrian gets that way too. THe best thing you can do is to let yourself feel more. The new emotions will block out the depression, you'll feel happier..." He said as he got her some tissues. "But i've got some questions for you too. How do you feel about Adrian? Really think about that. I cant tell you why he kissed you, the boys been backwards for a long time, I cant tell you why he does things. You two just need to let yourselves feel things. You wont end up like me I promise, but you wont feel so lifeless anymore. " He said, hoping it would answer at least part of her questions. He definitely needed to have a talk with Adrian too.



Ofelia giggled and said goodbye to Gene as she ran out the door. "AHhhhh shes so cute! I cant wait till you have yours. And then i'll have mine and then I have to convince Nasir that we dont really need twenty six children. I cant. I already feel like im gonna die today, and I know its only going to get worse...I'm not doing it twenty plus times" She said with a sigh and shaking her head.

Lorelei had only seen the word once in a book that Adrian had brought to her, but she didn't read on it. She gently took the tissues and wiped her eye. Then he asked her about how she felt about Adrian. "I like being around him. When he didn't come for those few days... it was real lonely. I like how he doesn't think I am weird and that he gets my jokes. He has really pretty eyes and... I don't know the words to how I feel, Misha. I just know I feel something." She hugged herself to keep from shaking.



Roshia blinked, "I think you two should have twenty six children... or at least half. Rowan refuses to go over four, but if I am like my mom and produce twins, single, then twins... or just all sets of twins." She cried. "Not twins again... I get so big and I cry so much. If you start showing early... like at four months... or sooner. You might be having twins. Or a really big baby. I don't know which on is worse. Aww you could have two Ofelias or Two Nasirs. Ollie is pregnant... maybe she will have twins! Everyone is pregnant. Rowan. Oh my god... Lorelei better not be." She looked worried for a moment.

Misha thought for a moment, trying to find the words to say to her. "Well just let yourself feel that way then. Adrian wont think of you any differently if you feel that way. Just let yourself feel, you wont feel like you do right now if you do, the depression comes from pushing all your emotions down and storing them away. And if you need to again, you know where to find me if you need someone to talk to. I'll always listen." He said and patted her on the shoulder reassuringly. "We better get back before Adrian notices we're gone." He said and turned to the door. Blair walked in as he did. "Is Adrian still in his lab?" Misha asked. Blair shook his head. "Nah, boss. He left for the night, i guess. I tried to talk to him but he wasnt hearing any of it again, must have gotten stuck in his own head again. Wouldnt look at me either, just kept walking." He said with a shrug. Misha sighed heavily.




"No! You have twenty six children. It started as a joke about having fourteen kids but the number keeps growing!" She said with a giggle. Roshia counted all the people who were pregnant, there sure were a lot of pregnant women this year. Then she said something about Lorelei and how she better not be. "Oh yeah! Didnt she have a boyfriend or something? They danced at the wedding together right? And theyre always together too. Neither of them seems like the type to fool around though..." She said trying to remember what Adrian was like. But then again she hadnt ever actually heard him speak..



"Oh the one kid? I dont know if theyre technically dating but they do seem to spend most of the day together. Sometimes I catch him heading towards the village when i'm coming home from work. We take the same road but he doesnt seem like the type to socialize....But I have seen him leave her lab in the morning, so ....Lets just hope she's not..." He said with a sigh.

"Yeah, everything's alright. I had to fire someone who couldnt tell the difference between a scone and a muffin, but that seems to have solved the issue for now. THe new management is doing okay, but she seems to think she needs to get permission from me before she does everything. But shes set straight now" He said with a small relieved sigh. "Yeah that tea definitely smells like something you SHOULDNT drink. Thats for sure. I'm glad i dont have to drink it." He said with a small chuckle.

Lorelei looked up at Misha, "Do you know where he went? Maybe it is my fault... I am going to go home, okay?" She walked out of the room, without looking at Blair, and walked out the building before heading home.



Roshia about died. "Oh god... oh... oh..." She held her belly. She felt a pain her lower belly. "D-Do we have any more of that tea? This is.. a different pain..." She tried breathing through it. Roshia gripped the table with one while the other held her belly.

Rowan immediately set some water to boil and then helped Roshia walk to the couch and sit down. He made the tea and handed it to her as soon as it was done. "Do you think we need to take you over to Lors?" He asked, looking completely panicked. He got up and made a second batch of the tea just in case they needed it.



Ofelia didnt know what to do. She knew what it was like to have pains that made her nearly double over like Roshia was and she wanted to ask if it was the same as she had felt. But she couldnt tell them that she had been pregnant before. All she could do is worry for now. She took over making the tea and sent Rowan back to be with Roshia while they waited to see if the tea would help.



Adrian wantered around for a little bit, his mind foggy. He wished he hadnt gone to the wedding, wished he could stop feeling the way he did when Lorelei was near him. He felt like he was ruining whatever friendship they had by feeling that way. By the time he had snapped out of it he realized he was at the end of the bridge on the path towards the village. He stood there for a while, wondering why he always ended up back there, why it was one of the few places he felt completely comfortable being.

Elwin smiled, "Well I am glad you got everything settled. You didn't pick up Forrest on the way home? Or are you going in after you made sure me and Ollie didn't run away together?" Ollie made an innocent face and walked away to go change. "Hey... maybe when things can settle down... you and Ollie can go out and get to know each other. I am not stupid... I can feel the tension between you two." He played with Atlas' shirt.

Elwin smiled, "Well I am glad you got everything settled. You didn't pick up Forrest on the way home? Or are you going in after you made sure me and Ollie didn't run away together?" Ollie made an innocent face and walked away to go change. "Hey... maybe when things can settle down... you and Ollie can go out and get to know each other. I am not stupid... I can feel the tension between you two." He played with Atlas' shirt.

Atlas raised an eyebrow at Elwin. "I dont really know what tension you're talking about, but if it'll make you happy I guess I'll go out with her some time. " Atlas said pulling Elwin to him. "I need to go and grab Forrest here in a couple minutes, I only stopped over because I couldnt stand not seeing you for one more second. " He said with a smile before kissing Elwin rather passionately. "Well I would love to stay, but ive got a kiddo to pick up." He said before he kissed Elwins cheek and winked at him before leaving again to pick Forrest p.

Elwin was going to explain but Atlas kissed him instead. He pulled Atlas close as he kissed him back. "Mmm okay... go get him." He said breathlessly. He watched him go before turning around to see Ollie walking in. "You and Atlas are going to go out on a date." She looked up at him confused. "We are what?" She asked.

"You two are going out on a date. I know you two have tension between each other, I am not stupid. And for the sake of our baby being healthy and you being healthy... I want you two to get over it." Ollie smiled and warped her arms around Elwin's neck. "If it will help you and make you feel better... I will go out with him." She kissed his forehead and walked over to sit down.

"It still creeps me out that you two pretty much say the same thing but worded slightly different." He said.

Atlas went and picked Forest up, chatting with Ivie for a minute about the issues with the cafe. She underderstood him having to go sometimes since he was doing it for Forrests future. He had to stop by the Cafe and pick up muffins for Forrest and then he headed back to the house, setting Forrest down, telling him to go find Elwin. Forrest sqealed and ran off to find him, eventually doing so and standing at Elwins feet saying "Up up!" Impatiently. Atlas chuckled. "Apparently the kiddo missed you too" He said handing Forrest a mini banana muffin.

Elwin saw Forrest coming and laughed. He picked him up, nuzzling him before Atlas gave him a muffin. Forrest squealed and began to eat it. Elwin poked his belly, "Look at your cute belly. I missed you more than your daddy, but shhh don't tell him." He smiled. Forrest giggled and looked over at Ollie then his dad and then back at Ollie. He wiggled to get down and Elwin did just so. Forrest walked to her and said, "Dadadadada..." Ollie frozed and Elwin's eyes went wide. They were both too afraid to look at Atlas.

Atlas shot Elwin a playful glare when he said he missed him more than Atlas did, but the glare didnt last and turned into a smile as Forrest giggled. Atlas wasnt prepared for what happened next though. Forrest toddled over to Ollie and called her his dadadadada, which meant dad in Baby. Atlas turned into a ball of fire for all of three seconds before realizing it was an easy mistake for a kid Forrests age to make when he and Ollie looked so much alike. He sat down on the floor and patted his lap and Forrest turned around and toddled over. Atlas pointed to himself first. "Dad" He said to Forrest, then pointed at Ollie. "Thats Ollie." He said in a soft tone. He did it a few more times until Forrest seemed to understand. He pointed at Ollie and said "Owie" Atlas laughed and clapped. "Yeah! Now you got it, who's a smart cookie? You are! And smart cookies get a muffin, yayyy" He said as he handed Forrest another muffin and stood back up.

When Atlas didn't kill them, Elwin relaxed. Atlas helped Forrest get the two straight. Ollie laughed. She loved the baby's name for her. "Owie... ugh my heart." Forrest looked around with one half eaten muffin in his hand and the new one in his mouth. He walked to Ollie and climbed in her lap before nomming away on both muffins. "Wuffin." He held up one. "Wuffin." He held up the other one. "WUFFFINS!" He screamed. Ollie about died of laughter and nuzzled him. He giggled and continued to eat.

Elwin took that moment to take Atlas into the other room. "Since you left before I could talk. You might not see it, but I feel it. I know you don't like her very much and the only reason why you put up with her is because she is carrying my baby, but... she is a great woman. A caring woman. She could have easily gone with James. And I might not have been here and if I was... emotionally I would not and in the end we would have lost each other. I love you Atlas... a lot a lot. I love your son. So don't just blow this over like whatever okay."

Atlas was laughing at Forrest and his muffin excitement when Elwin pulled him out of the room. Atlas didnt know why Elwin thought it was so important that they be best friends. Atlas didnt mind having Ollie around, he just wasnt used to having to share Elwins attention with someone else. "I understand, I dont take it lightly. I know Ollie is a good woman, she offered to have a baby for you without really even knowing you, an she helped you out when you got tied up in that kidnapping scheme. I know shes a good woman. I dont mind having her here, it makes you happy. Its just hard for me to adjust to it all, you know? I dont really like having to share you, at all, with anyone. But I'm trying my hardest not to be a selfish asshole." He said pulling Elwin close and kissing his forehead.

"Yeah I really need to get another blanket so you have one when I decide to be an asshole in the middle of the night and steal the big fluffly one. But its so fluffy Elwin, I cant help but steal it." Atlas said sticking his tongue out at him playfully. "And I might be a cover hog but at least im not a bed hog like sommmmeone I know" He said with a smirk on his face. "I'll try harder with Ollie, I dont try very much now because it always seems like I make her nervous. I dont know what I did, but it seems like she wants to run away when i'm in the room" He said with a small sigh.

Elwin rolled his eyes and smiled, "Hey, my long legs need your warmth since you steal the good blanket. It is a fair trade I think." He smiled before frowning a bit. "I think she feels like you hate her for the whole kidnapping thing... and then getting her pregnant. She doesn't want to step on toes. You forget, she still loves to serve. I think she was born with a butler's heart. Plus, don't think I didn't see from the corner of my eye how pissed you looked when Forrest called her dada. If she saw what I did, I think it only made the situation worse." He sighed and sat down at the table. He could hear Forrest babble to her about baby things. Then he saw him running for the door with Ollie in tow to catch him.

" I dont..Hate..Her...And I cant really help what my face does. I'm a demon remember, my face is just always scary. Not my fault." Atlas said with a smirk and a shrug. He watched Forrest run out with Ollie in tow and caught him when he tried to run by. "WHat did I tell you about running away? " He said softly as he walked off to Forrest's room with him to put him down for a nap since Ivie said he was up early. Luckily he went straight to sleep after Atlas read him a book. Atlas returned a few minutes after Forrest fell asleep. "Well the kids knocked out for now. Hopefully he naps for more than fifteen minutes this time. I dont know where he's storing so much energy, but he needs to share his secrets with me." He said with a stretch.
