Image Name: Phoenix Rahaim

Age: 28

Gender: Female

Species: Human

Height: 5'8"

Weight: 155lbs

Sexuality: Pansexual

Job: Spy

Appearance: Phoenix is relatively tall and she has a somewhat muscular, athletic build. Her skin is very dark and she has elegant facial features. She has dark eyes and full lips. Phoenix generally always wears makeup, though not for others so much as it is for the fun of it. She wears her hair in a large, curly afro style and she takes excellent care of it. Phoenix generally likes to wear comfortable clothing when possible, opting for stretchy pants or leggings with long tank tops or t-shirts and, if it's cold, a sweater or jacket. She loves to dress up when she can, though, and she enjoys wearing bright colours and bold patterns. She usually wears either tall high heels, heeled boots, or ballerina-style flat shoes. Usually, Phoenix can be seen wearing some sort of jewelry.

Personality: Phoenix has two very different sides to her personality. When Phoenix is focusing on her work, she tends to be very quiet and serious. She's an excellent listener and very observant, though she can sometimes come across as cold and standoffish if she doesn't deem you relevant or important. Phoenix is quite perceptive and can usually tell when somebody is lying or withholding information. When she needs information she tends to find it by asking around, blackmailing, or snooping through somebody else's things as she's never really had the heart for torture. She is a decent fighter. When she isn't focused on her work, though she is highly guarded, she can be a lot of fun. She cares deeply about others when she's had time to build a relationship with them and she enjoys going out and doing things, no matter what the thing is. She's very open-minded and has a tendency to be something of a people-pleaser. She does, however, enjoy pushing others out of their comfort zones.

History/Bio: Phoenix was raised in the world of organized crime and was exposed to a lot of messy things from a young age. Her father took part in all sorts of messy business and her mother worked as a prostitute, in addition to helping her husband with his illicit work. As a little girl, Phoenix's father liked to use her to lure in victims - usually young women - who he'd then kidnap, usually to sell. Phoenix would be dressed in rags and told to attract the target's attention, to ask her as sweetly as possible for help, and then to lead her to an agreed-upon spot so that her father and his men could snatch the woman up. Phoenix grew accustomed to falling asleep to the sound of people pleading for freedom or screaming as they were tortured. She didn't enjoy helping her parents, but she wasn't aware that she had a choice in the matter.

When Phoenix was only sixteen years old, her father essentially traded her virginity as part of a business transaction, leaving her at the mercy of a pair of his friends and informing her that she wasn't permitted to fight against them or she'd be disowned. It was on that night that Phoenix decided she'd had enough of her parents and their shady dealings and she decided to take them down for once and for all. She started to gather all the information she could, taking notes of meeting spots, times and dates, names of individuals, code names, and all the information she could find. Once she'd gathered together as much as she could and had implicated as many of her father's friends and associates as possible, Phoenix took this information to the rulers of her Kingdom. Over the next few weeks, the guards performed several raids, capturing most of the people involved with Phoenix's family and freeing several of their victims, prisoners, and hostages.

The royal family deemed Phoenix a hero of their Kingdom and gave her as much as they could in return for her aid - they signed over her parents' home to her, gave her money and jewels, offered her servants, and assured her that if there was ever anything she needed, they would provide it for her. Phoenix had realized that she was actually quite good at undercover work, having kept her actions a secret from her parents and successfully collected all the information she needed. She'd also used stealth skills to break into rooms, drawers, cabinets, etc. that she wasn't permitted to enter, and she decided that she wanted to continue doing similar work. She started to take formal training through the royal family and became a spy for them.

One day, Phoenix was approached by Sophia Bradley and asked to undertake some highly sensitive work. Sophia revealed to her that her younger brother, Weston, who was supposedly dead, was actually alive and well and living a while away. Sophia had a pair of spies who kept tabs on him but one of them had just stepped down because she wanted to get married and start a family, so she needed somebody new to replace that spy. Phoenix agreed to do the work, despite the stipulation that the royal family was not permitted to find out that Weston was alive, and she cleaned out her home to rent it out - having Sophia collect the rent money on her behalf - while she was away.

For several years now, Phoenix has been following Weston. She always keeps herself at a distance from him, observing only and sending private couriers back to Sophia with the information she gathers. She has interacted directly with Weston only once - accidentally, when she was in line at a coffee shop getting a drink and he came in and got in line behind her - but has interacted indirectly with him on many occasions. She was responsible for persuading his publishers to take a chance on his novel - through blackmail, of course - and she keeps dangerous people away from him; for his good looks he has been targeted by more than one parties in the human trade business, and his secretive nature has drawn the attention of individuals looking to learn more about him.

Now, Weston has moved to the floating islands to be closer to his new publisher and has taken up residence with a young woman who owns a chocolate shop. Phoenix, naturally protective over Weston after having spent so many years observing and protecting, has taken it upon herself to go undercover on the floating islands to continue observing for Sophia - and to find out about the young woman with whom Weston is living, though that part may purely be selfish intrigue.

So begins...

After his morning run with Amira and their breakfast, Amira left and Weston said goodbye to her before heading upstairs. He sat down at his desk, beginning to look over the papers he'd written last night. He had vague memories of writing, but he'd been drunk and he couldn't remember what he had written, so he was trying to make sense of the new chapter - an entire chapter he'd written drunk - and to determine which parts of it he could keep and what he needed to scrap.

Phoenix was a bit apprehensive about approaching Amira Levitt's chocolate shop. She knew that working for the woman was the best way to get to know her, and she needed to get to know her in order to keep Weston safe, but the fear of being revealed was always present. She headed inside, carrying a small file folder with her resume and reference letters from previous jobs in it. The jobs listed on her resume were real, since she'd worked several jobs to maintain her cover over the years while following Weston, but anything to do with her past was fake, as was her documentation - though it passed easily as real since the paperwork for her documentation had been filed by Queen Sophia herself.

The shop had just opened for the day and Phoenix headed inside, a bright smile on her lips as she approached the young woman she recognized as Amira from keeping tabs on Weston over the last several months. "Hey there, honey. I'm new to town and looking for a job, so I was wondering if you were hiring," she said confidently. She had a feeling that the chocolate shop would be a fun place to work.

Amira looked up from what she was seeing to see a woman had walked in. She was about to greet her when she said she was looking for a job. "Dear lord you're pretty..." Amira said and Lottie groaned. "Ignore her. She has no filter." She said as she walked into the back with an empty tray. Amira shook her head. " We could always use one more." She said and walked around the corner to meet the woman. "Did you bring a resume by chance?" She asked softly.

Phoenix couldn't help but to grin when Amira told her that she was pretty. "Well, thanks. You're pretty yourself," she replied as Amira came around the counter. She nodded when the other woman inquired as to whether or not she had brought a resume. "Yes ma'am, it's right here along with a couple letters of recommendation from previous jobs," she said, handing Amira her file folder. "It's a bit spotty because I've been traveling and moving around a lot lately, but I just got an inheritance and used it to buy myself a small house on the island, so I'm fairly certain I'm not going anywhere any time soon," she said with a smile. It wasn't entirely untrue - she had just bought a small house, with just enough room for herself, though the money was Sophia's.

Amira smiled. "Thanks." She said and looked over the resume and the references that she had brought. Everything certainly looked pretty great. She thought about it for a second. Having her there meant that she could finally train Serena on chocolate making, and she could take off work more without worrying about closing the shop down or spending extra hours making backup chocolates. She looked up and then narrowed her eyes a little bit. "One question. Do you think Chocolate it better than sex?" She said. Serena peeked up from what she was saying and groaned. "Just say yes!" She said and laughed a little bit. Amira put her finger to her lips in a shush motion and waved Serena off.

Phoenix waited patiently while Amira looked over the stuff in her folder. She blinked in surprise at what Amira asked her, though, glancing towards Serena when the other woman groaned and said to just say yes. "It depends," she said with a shrug. "If the chocolate is really, really good quality then yeah, it can be better than sex, especially if it's bad sex. But then sometimes there's cheap chocolate that tastes kinda bad, and then there's that mind-blowing sex..." She paused, laughing a bit. "In general I'd be inclined to say no, although I will say that right about now I'd be more likely to say yes to one of those chocolates than a man," she said with a smirk, gesturing towards one of the chocolates in the display case. "Is this something you debate a lot around here?"

Amira shook her head. "No, its not really. I just felt like asking." She said and Serena shook her head. "Shes having an argument with her room mate about it." She said. "My ridiculous room mate. But lets not talk about him." Amira said and shook her head. "Lets focus on getting your employment papers sorted through." She said. She had liked the womans answer, and Lottie and Serena seemed chill about her too, and theyd have given her a look if they didnt think shed be a fit. She went and got the necessary paperwork out and sat her down at table that was set up, bringing a few chocolates for the woman with her. "So, whats your name?" She asked as she slid the papers over to the woman.

Phoenix laughed when they explained that Amira was having an argument with her roommate about whether sex was better than chocolate. It was amusing to hear, knowing that Weston was her roommate. How had this come up in conversation? She figured it best to hold off on asking just yet. She sat down at the table Amira set her up at, grinning and softly thanking her when she put down the chocolates. "Phoenix Rahaim," she replied when Amira asked her name, taking the paperwork from her. "But my friends call me Nixy." She'd always hated explaining her name to people when they asked. Her parents had been criminals, so of course they'd have picked weird and unusual names. She couldn't say that, of course.

Amira looked up at her and smiled. "Thats a pretty name." She said and then a customer came in and pretty much snatched Amira up in a hug. "Good morning Mr. Braxton." Amira said with a giggle. The man put her down. "The wife loved the chocolates dear, ive been sent out for more." He said in a jolly voice. "Well, you're smart to heed the pregnancy cravings." She said and gave him a look. She looked back at Phoenix and smiled. "I'll be right back." She said and disappeared into the back and came back a moment later with chocolates all ready and wrapped up. The man paid and said hi and then bye to the other two girls and Amira came back. "Sorry about that. He's a long term customer. We get a good few of those you'll get to know. He's a hugger." She giggled.

Phoenix started in on the paperwork while Amira got whisked away by the customer to get him more chocolates. She couldn't help but to be amused by the interaction. When Amira came back and explained to her that he was a long term customer and she had a number of those, Phoenix smiled and nodded. "That's good," she said. "Means that you must be doing something right if people come back enough to know them by name," she laughed.

Amira nodded a little. "He's been coming since I opened up. Nearly every day. His wife is on their seventh child now, and every pregnancy she never stops just completely inhaling chocolates. So he is here pretty much every day." She said and then stayed quiet for a moment so that paper work could get done. "So, when did you want to start then?" She asked and then called the other two over. "These two are Lottie, and Serena. Theyll probably give you trouble, but they mean well. They give me plenty of trouble." She said and glared at the two who just smiled sweetly and said hello to Nixy.

Phoenix's eyes widened when Amira commented that his wife was on her seventh child. "Seven? Oh, goodness," she said with a shake of her head. "And here I am, twenty-eight and not even on my first," she said with a laugh. Seven wasn't too much of a stretch - not after working for Weston's family for over a decade, when they had thirteen children, but of course she couldn't mention that to Amira. She paused thoughtfully when Amira asked when she wanted to start, and then shrugged. "Honestly, I'm pretty much always available. I could start tomorrow, or even right now if you needed," she said with a laugh. "And I'm not worried about those two. They give me trouble, I'll give them trouble right back."

Amira nodded. "Mhm. Theyre not slowing down either. His wife wants at least ten." She said and shook her head. Ten was way too many. "I think he said they started having kids when they were like nineteen. I dont know how they do it. Im twenty six and pretty sure theres not gonna be any babies for me anytime soon.." She said and Lottie gave her a look. "Theres always West-" She started to talk but Amira shoved a chocolate in her mouth to shut her up. "Anyways.....Tomorrow would be a good start. Lottie will be off on a family day anyways. And please do give them trouble. They need it. Payback for all the trouble they give me." She said and shook her head. Lottie and Serena both went about their business like they had no clue what she was talking about, Serena even went as far as whistling innocently.

Phoenix shook her head in amazement when Amira said how many children that couple wanted. "I don't know how they do it, either. Well, I mean, I do, but I don't," she said with a slight smirk. "And hey, there's always a possibility for babies. I don't have any because I've been traveling around so much and haven't settled down, but now that I'm here it's way more likely." She was curious what Lottie was going to say when she started to say Weston's name, but didn't dwell on it. Her impression of his relationship with Amira had been that it was strictly platonic, but was she mistaken? "Tomorrow sounds perfect. Anything specific I should wear or bring?" she asked.

Amira shook her head. Lottie popped out. "Oh no, not for her theres not. She's a lost cause." She said and Amira just sighed. "Like I said, just dont listen a single word they say, especially Lottie. Lottie likes to stir the pot whenever possible. She means well though so I hope you can all get along." She said, diverting the conversation into a new direction. "Tomorrow you will just need to bring yourself and a lunch box if you bring lunch to work. Other than that I cant really think of anything...Well, wear comfortable shoes for sure, you're gonna spend a lot of time on your feet." She explained.

Phoenix raised an eyebrow slightly when Lottie popped out and insisted that Amira was a lost cause and she shook her head. "Nah. I don't think so," she said with a smirk. "A gorgeous girl like you deserves a handsome, kind, loving man who'll give you gorgeous babies," she laughed. "And I'm sure we will all get along. I like to think that I'm rather personable, so I have no trouble getting along with most people - even difficult people," she said with a light laugh. She nodded when Amira told her what to bring. "Okay, that sounds perfect to me. So I guess I'll see you tomorrow then! I'm really looking forward to it," she said cheerfully. She did think that working in a chocolate shop would be fun, though she had to keep her guard up and watch what she said around the girls.

Amira shook her head. "Nah shes right, I really am. We wont get into why though." She said with a wink and then stood up. "Thats good then, mostly they just like to tease and things like that because she get bored. But im sure you guys will get along just fine." She said and smiled. "Alright, well I will see you tomorrow around nine O' clock, and we'll get you started on training then. Im looking forward to working with you, and im sure the girls are too." She said with a warm smile. "Oh, and whole heartedly expect to leave with your entire being smelling like chocolate." She said. It wasnt really a joke, she really would leave smelling like she'd been dipped in melted chocolate.

Phoenix was curious why Amira was so insistent that she wasn't ever having kids when she clearly wanted them, but she figured that right now was probably not the best time to push for answers. She'd have plenty of time for that as long as Weston stayed in the city. "I'm sure we'll get along just fine, too," she agreed. "Nine o'clock sounds good. I can't wait," she said. When Amira told her to expect to leave smelling like chocolate she laughed. "That's more than okay. I'm sure the men would love it if this chocolate smelled like chocolate," she joked with a laugh, running a hand through her curls. "Thanks a lot. I'm really looking forward to this," she said before she left.

Amira said goodbye to er new worker and then went back to work. When the work day was over she walked back home and put her purse and things down and went to check on the bunnies before running off to see if Weston was in the study. She figured that he was, he practically lived in that room. She knocked on the door before slowly opening it up. "Hiii. So guess what happened today?" She said, peeking in at him.

A month had gone by and things with Amira and Weston had been very normal once again. Amira had stopped drinking more than a single glass of wine. She wasnt even going to tempt that fate any longer. But things with them were good again. Amira had made pretty fast friends with the new girl, Nixy and now they had plans to go out to grab coffee with each other. Amira got ready and dressed and then did her hair and said by to Weston before she grabbed her purse and headed to the coffee shop to meet Nixy.

Phoenix fluffed up her curls in the mirror, pausing to admire her outfit as she prepared herself to go hang out with Amira. She found herself getting along well with her new boss, though she had to stay on her guard and watch what she said. For all she knew, Amira could be a totally different person outside of her workplace, and besides, she wasn't here to make friends. She was here to observe Weston and Amira, to learn more about the elven woman, and to determine whether Weston was safe in her home. She headed out to the coffee shop, grinning widely when she saw Amira arriving there ahead of her. "Hey there, you," she said as she reached Amira. "Look at that dress! Ugh. You look just gorgeous. So jealous," she said with a grin.
