Sophie Mills's Story

Rowan walked Roshia to his work and then up to his office where outside of it sat a pale blonde woman who looked very prim and proper, who was already waiting there at her desk. When she saw Rowan she stood up and bowed slightly. "Good morning Mr. Todd." She said, her voice was soft and sweet, and slightly mousey. She bowed to Roshia too though it seemed clear she didnt know who she was. "Good morning Sophie. This is my wife, Roshia, well and these are the babies of course..Ros, this is my cousin and assistant Sophie." Rowan said with a smile. "Its very nice to meet you Mrs. Todd." Sophie said with a sweet smile.

Adrian wished he could just laze around with the sleepy and way too adorable Lorelei but he had to be getting to work. "Im sorry, but we cant. I need to get to work and you need to check on Loris. I worry about him considering Elise has been in charge of making sure he stayed rested. Im not sure he got much rest with her around though." He said and sighed. "But, you can sleep on the cot in my office if you need to when we get there" He said softly and sipped his tea.

Roshia looked at her and then him, "I can see it now... and hello, Sophie. Please call me Roshia. Mrs. Todd is his mom and your...aunt?" She said before smiled and bouncing the babies. Arrow reached for Sophie's hair. "And these mini Rowan's are Bo and the one reaching for your hair is Arrow. We are glad to meet you. Say hello girls." She made them wave at her.

She sighed and ate it slowly while drinking her tea. "Come on, I will fall asleep right here if we just sit. I can eat, drink, and walk at the same time." She said softly and got up, walking out of the house with him, and ate her cinnamon roll and sipped her drink sleepily. "Ugh who wakes up this early, Adrian? WHO?" She cried.

Sophie nodded politely when Roshia asked if Rowans mom was her aunt and then waved at the babies. "It is nice to meet you, little ones, as well. You're both very cute. You two have such beautiful children." She said and them smiled sweetly, though she did stay a respectful distance from the children as she didnt know them well enough to just go up and touch them. Sophie handed a folder to Rowan. "Here is the list of businesses that have sent in their applications for booths at the upcoming festival. Every one on the list has already sent all the information in and its filed away in folders, and alphabetically sorted, theyre waiting on your desk for review." She said as he took the folder. "Excellent, thanks Sofie." Rowan said then ushered Roshia into his office and took Arrow in his arms and looked down at his desk where the folders were indeed laid out in alphabetic order.

Adrian got up and walked out of the house and went with Lorelei. "Well to be fair, Elise gets to work at six thirty every morning. Well, and everyone else should be there by now too. I'm typically the last one to show up, well besides Misha, but he shows up whenever he wants because he's the boss and he's got lots of other things to do, apparently. I still think its code for 'I'm old, I'll sleep in if I want to." He said and sighed a little bit. "You get used to it, its part of working for other people, you dont get to choose your hours." He said as they neared the building.

Loris looked up at him and blinked. "You can tell her and Ivie exactly what you want. Though... I know Ivie has a thing for guy on guy action." He smirked and went to the door of the break room and closed it, locking them. "I wonder how long it will take you to hurt Ivie... or did you do so already and she just slept with you so you didn't run away? I wonder if she will be another one in your notch of girls you use and leave." He threw the keys a couple inches out of his reach and unlocked the door. "What you did to Elise... was really fucked up. You don't think you bringing her home every night didn't give her a bit of hope? I guess nothing really matters to the Playboy." He said and walked out. Loris walked to Elise and smiled. "Shucks, he got box of donuts before me. I was going to hide them. Have him touch me like he did Lor." He frowned. "No such luck. If you need me I will be in my office." He gave her a kiss on the forehead and walked away.

Lorelei giggled as she took a bite of her cinnamon roll, "Old man Misha." She said softly and finished her breakfast up before throwing her cup in the trash outside and licking her lips and smiling at Elise. "Morning El!" She said half asleep. "How has Loris been? Good I hope. Well I am going to check on him. If I am not back up in like... ten. I fell asleep. Sue me." She said and walked down to Loris.

"Aye aye, Doctor is in. Strip and lay on your back." She said and Loris turned, nearly choking on hair.

"Haha, real funny. Morning to you too." He said and went to start the furnace.

"Sit down please so I can check your neck." She said.

He nodded and sat down, undoing some of the button on his shirt so she could look. Lorelei walked up and checked it out. Her fingertip gently going over it. "So Doc... how long do I have to live?" He asked.

"Two days and thirteen minutes." She said with a smiled.

"That is not a lot of days to live. Just end me now, please." He said and pouted.

"Sorry no can do. But you neck is doing fine and you are good to go. My old man, Loris. You are doing well." She said and patted his hand.

"Aye baby girl, I know I am old. Thanks, so you going to sleep down here? Might have heavy traffic since your boyfriend is back." He said.

"Nah he wants me to spend time with him up there. So I will just sleep on the cot in there. Aww you going to miss me?" She pouted.

"Like fucking hell. Now go and meet your boyfriend before he ends me this time." He said.

She frowned, "I am sorry about that. He was just..."

Loris raised a hand, "I know... now go go." He said and turned around. Lorelei frowned and watched him for a moment before leaving and going into Adrian's lab and laying on the cot.

Roshia blinked and looked at Rowan before being being ushered away. When he tool Arrow Bo huffed and rested her head on Roshia's shoulder before looking around. Roshia had been in here once when they were friends, after the sleeping with. He hadn't changed anything and it looked like his office at home. "She is so formal... makes me want to corrupt her. The itch..." She said and watched as Arrow held onto his hair.

Adrian walked in and went to his office and looked through what he needed to get done. It wasnt a whole bunch and Adrian knew Elise had adusted things so that Loris would get a break. Though Adrian hadnt planned on going through anything super fast today anyways. He walked out of the office and caught Elise happily humming to herself and he wondered what that was about since she normally just worked quietly with the music on, and a dull expression on her face, but she looked happy now. Adrian went up to the break room to grab some coffee since he was already yawning and was startled when he found blair handcuffed to a drawer. "Did..Did I..?" He started to ask but Blair shook his head. "Nope. Loris." Was all that Blair said. Adrian unlocked the cuffs and went back to getting his coffee while Blair disappeared into his office and Adrian walked back into his to find Lorelei on the cot. "So Elise seems giddy about something, and Loris is handcuffing Blair to things, and Blairs face looks all red." He said and then sat down, looking a some crime scene photos.

Rowan laughed a little. "Yeah, she's pretty formal isnt she? Well, from the handful of times I've seen her since we were little, she's always been pretty mousey like that." He said and shook his head. "I dont get it, but thats how she is, and she works efficiently, so. No complaints here." He said as he looked over and signed a few papers that he needed to get signed and then bounced Arrow a little bit as she held onto his hair. "Well, I mean, shes not quite as formal with just girls though." He said, mainly thinking out loud.

Lorelei sat up and looked at him, "Huh... get started and I will do a little investigation. I now need answers." She said and went to Blair first. "So... I heard you are getting handcuffed to things and getting red in the face. What kind of kinky things have you been doing, mister?" She asked.

Roshia watched him work and loved the look on his face. "Oh? Not with girls? That is weird...maybe we can invite her over to a girls night with me, ofelia, and the babies." She said and kissed Bo's head. "We can butter her up, maybe bring her out of her shell." She said and bounced Bo as she walked around the room. "This is daddy's work. Yeahh, isn't it... uhm... lovely? I know you fell asleep when I was hunting and your sister loved it. So... looks like you will be taken your father's place, aye?" She said softly.

Adrian nodded and watched Lorelei walk off and got to work on the first corpse of the day.

Blair looked up from his files and raised an eyebrow at Lorelei. "Well I would hardly call getting handcuffed to a drawer by Loris because hes mad you used to walk his girlfriend home after work to make sure she didnt get drug down an alleyway by her violent ex boyfriend, kinky. But whatever floats your boat Lorelei." He said and went back to staring at a crime scene photo. "I'm going to have to stop keeping my handcuffs on me while im in this building..." He mumbled.

Rowan nodded and looked down at Arrow who was sound asleep. "Oh, so sorry my work bores you, Arrow." He said and laughed a little bit while he looked over a file and tapped his fingers on his desk as he read things over about a permit for Ofelia. "Honestly this girl...seven months pregnant and still doing big proects...She's worse that you were..." He mumbled and shook his head before signing the file and moving on until they were all signed. He neatly stacked them and picked them up. "I'm sure Sophie would love to come over and play with you two and the babies, I doubt she goes out much, and she likes kids a lot from what ive seen. You two could probably be friends, even though you two are complete opposites. I mean I thought you and Ofelia were pretty different, but Sophie is like your polar opposite. Not sure how that will play out, but its worth a shot huh?" He said and then stood up with the folders in his free hand.

Lorelei stared at him. "Is it really about the walking and more about giving her false hope? And girlfriend? Aw they are finally together! About time. Anyway, Adrian told me you were blushing when he found you, so I had to see why. And even if you did leave your handcuffs in your office doesn't mean you won't get handcuffed. You will never be safe, Blair." She giggled evilly before walking out.

Roshia listened before smiling, "She looks like the polar opposite of me. Prim and proper was never my thing. Anyway, now you see how it feels when one of your babies falls asleep on you. No did the same thing to me earlier. Ugh, guess she is your child." She gently huffed before smiling and shaking her head. "I think if Ofelia stopped and just sat down to think she would lose it. Kind of like me when I was on house arrest. Bo wiggled a bit before giggling. "What's so funny this time?" She asked.

Blair sighed and put his head on his desk for a few minutes before locking them away in a locked drawer in his desk. He went back to work on an older case file before he realized he had to go up and get the new team member at some point during the day to introduce her to everyone else, even though she wouldnt move down to their floor for a few more days. Misha wanted to make sure everyone could get along before moving her. He walked up to get her but she was busy with a sketch so he just told her to come down when she was ready and went back to his office.


Rowan smiled. "Well at least she isnt very heavy yet. Bo appreciates what I do though dont you Bo."He said and looked over at her. Bo squealed and tried to melt and Rowan just laughed at her. "Lord..What am I going to do with you two.." He said softly and then motioned to the door. "Well I got everything signed so, we can go ahead and walk out if you want to, you gonna ask her today? If I remember correctly she doesnt have a shift at the post office today so she should be free in the afternoon." He said before walking to the door and opening it for Roshia before handing the folders to Sophie. "Everythings signed and ready to be sent off when you get the chance. There is a permit in there that needs to be sent upstairs for final approval though by the end of the day though." He said. Sophie nodded. "I'll get that taken care of right away then, Mr. Todd." She said and stacked everything neatly in order of urgency and then looked back up. "Is that all for you today then?" She asked. Rowan nodded. "Gotta go visit my mom with the kids, you know how she is." Rowan said and rubbed the back of his neck. Sophie just smiled softly. "Indeed." She said simply.

Lorelei went down to the crematory and talked to Loris about him and Elise. She told him that she was happy and that she couldn't wait for their babies. Loris blushed and too her to go back to visiting her boyfriend before he exploded with embarrassment. Lorelei hurried back up and busted through Adrian's door before dropping on the cot. "Blair locked his handcuffs up. Loris locked him up because of what he was doing to Elise. Elise and Loris are going out. They are going to the secret beach this weekend." She smirked. "We can always creep in them and see if they do the do."


Roshia walked out with the melting Bo and looked at Sophie. She was cute, someone to corrupt, and she smiled. "Hey Sophie, would you want to come hang out with me, the girls, and a friend of mine. She is seven months pregnant, so we won't be getting too wild. And then you can gush about your family secrets." She smiled. "And she is your cosuin... is it really necessary for her to call you your father's name?" She asked Rowan, clearly confused.

Adrian blinked and then listened to Lorelei talk. The loris and Elise thing didn't surprise him. But he wondered what Blair did to Elise that made Loris want to leave him handcuffed. " What did Blair do to Elise?" He asked and then shook his head. " What's with you and wanting to watch people doing the do? It's not like you haven't done it. You know what goes on..." He said and raised an eyebrow at her. " You're a pervert Lorelei. A pervert."

Sophie looked up and smiled before nodding. " That would be lovely, I can stop by once I've got everything sent in." She said softly. Rowan looked over at Roshia. " I told her not to call me that, but she does it anyways, even though we're cousins.." He said and shrugged. Sophie just nodded, said she'd see them later and excused herself to finish her work. "Well, I'm good to go when you are dear. I guess we'll be picking Ofelia up later then? "

Lorelei smiled, "He lead Elise to have false hope, which made her pine for him. I would have done worse, but.." She shrugged. Her eyes watched Adrian. She liked the way he looked when he worked and then he looked at her and called her a pervert. She coughed and looked away. "Well... I mean... if wanting to observed the emotional and physical patterns of people before, during, and after the do is being a pervert..." She looked at him and smirked, "then I guess I am."

Roshia smiled, "It's a date!" She smiled and walked out with Rowan and the girls. Once they got away from the door she smirked at Rowan. "I am going to keep her like a pet. She is too adorable. Ugh, I bet you she isn't so... innocent under all that priss and prime. I know girls like her. They are sweet, don't get me wrong, but they is a whole other side to them. Ugh... she is adorable. So glad she is your cousin, I would have really worried." She winked. When they got to his parents door she knocked with her foot.

Adrian blinked. "Like...He did it on purpose? I mean if on purpose it would make sense to do that, i guess. Or like if he had like..boned her or something..and then just cut her off. But he doesnt seem like the type, especially if he still hasnt slept with Ivie..." He said and then got up and wandered to a corpse and blinked at it before just sighing and running his hands down his face. "I swear im going nuts..." He said and then froze. "Well not actually. My meds are working, I promise...My lab is just still a fucking mess...An this was not the body I needed." He said, motioning to the literally spotless lab.


Rowan laughed a little bit. "Corrupt her if you must, but im pretty sure she's barely even had a boyfriend. I mean. I know she's courted but my mom used to talk about how she always gets dumped, or something. Probably because she's so proper around men." He said. His mom answered the door and just about screamed and stole Arrow from Rowan immediately as she let them in. "Oh! Its so lovely to see you two, and the babies!..Your dad out im afraid, did you have business with him dear?" She said as she bounced Arrow. "No, we're just stopping by to visit. Figured you'd need a dose of the grandbabies before you came breaking our door down. Well and I took Roshia to meet Sophie too, so we were already over here." Rowan said. "Oh you met Sophie did you? She's such a sweet girl, much too proper, dont know where she gets that from, but she's sweet." Rowans mom enthused. "Ros is gonna make friends with her, Ofelia too." Rowan said with a smile. "Good! The girl needs to get out more, lord knows its about time she loosened up a little and learned to have some fun, at this rate she'll never marry!" Rowans mom rambled on.

Ofelia giggled. "The next one huh? Already planning another? I thought Rowan was being stingy about baby mojo." She said and smirked at Rowan who just blinked at her like he was surprised by her choice of wording. Someone knocked just a second after Roshia said Sophie should come home and Rowan froze. "As usual, her timing is impeccable and scary..." He said and went to open the door. He showed her to where the girls were. "Ofelia, this is Sophie. Sophie, the tiny angry one is Ofelia, and you already know Roshia so. You girls have fun. I'll be in the office." He said and ran off. Sophie looked over at Ofelia and bowed a little. "Its nice to meet you, Ofelia. And nice to see you again Roshia." She said as she walked up to the two. Ofelia smiled. "Its nice to meet you too."

Blair pouted and then smiled when Ivie got shoved into the booth. "Oooh surprise lunch date. How nice." He said and looked over at Ivie. So, you told them already huh?" He said softly and looked over at Will and Kensie. "Kensie was all excited about it when she came over here." He said with a chuckle. "Work is fine. Adrian slowed down because Loris came back and I think we're all enjoying the break." He said and looked over at her. "Hows your day been?"

Roshia looked like a kid with a new toy. "Come and eat with us!" She said happily. "How was work? Hope nothing too much." She said and began eating. "Ofelia is a workaholic like Rowan and we try making her slow down. She has two handy dandy workers." She smiled.

Ivie smiled, "Well she bombarded me and is becoming a very good friend of mine. And I... kinda wanted to." She said softly and looked down at her hands. It was becoming clear that Kensie was becoming really close to her. She helped Ivie and supported her, like her friend did back then. But it seemed like pulling nails to get her old friend here. Ivie looked up at him, "Slowed down, huh? He is really trying to make it up to Loris, huh? That's good, what he did was pretty shitty. Even if he was going crazy." She said softly before looking around work. "Work is work. People come in. I serve. The flow has been steady, nothing too bad." Kensie came back with their drinks and smiled. "Now, for food. What will you two be having?" She asked. Ivie looked at her, "You already know what I want. Will can't stop me from having it now since I am a customer." She giggled evilly.

Sophie smiled and nodded and sat down at the table and ate with the other two. "Oh really? What do you do for work?" She asked softly. Ofelia blinked. "Oh I train the dragons. Well among other things but most people just know me as the Dragon lady...So you can see why I had to hire help. Lor would strap me down for my whole pregnancy if I hadnt..." She said and sighed. "Oh? That must be quite the job." Sophie said with slightly wide eyes. "Its..well..Its interesting most days. The boys help out a lot now since I cant even see my feet let alone most of my usual chores" Ofelia said with a giggle.

Blair nodded. "He is trying. Im pretty sure he knows nothing he does can really fix things though..." He said just before Kensie came back. Ivie ordered some kind of mystery dish and Blairs curiosity got the best of him. "Yeahh I'm gonna have to have whatever she's having since she's so excited about it." He said to Kensie with a big innocent smile on his face.

Roshia smiled at the two getting along. "What do you do in your free time, Sophie? Rowan called you a nun, but I have to disagree. I don't think you pray the rest of your day away." She smiled. Roshia was excited about this girl time. She had Ofelia, but now she got a new friend who seemed like a perfect little bun of cuteness.

Ivie looked at him and shook her head. "I hope you like Fontina Risotto with Chicken. It is his new recipe from him and it is on the menu, but Will was so shy about me trying it. Like, he could care less about everyone else, but when I would ask he would give a flat out no. So... I guess Kensie was actually helping me." She giggled and smiled. "It smells really good too!"

Sophie looked a little surprised. "He called me a nun?" She asked. "Well I dont pray the day away, I read or I wander about the city. Or when I can, I visit the folks at the retirement home in the city. Theyre pretty fun to talk too. And the older ladies like to have tea parties, which is lovely." She said with a soft smile. Ofelia blinked at the saint in front of her. "Are you an actual angel...?" Ofelia said, Sophie giggled a little. "I'm afraid not." She said with a smile.

Blair looked over at Ivie and mimicked her head shake. "I like pretty much all food...And its really cute that Will gets nervous about cooking for you. Real adorable. I'd tease him about it but Kensie would probably murder me right here. And that would be such a mess." He joked. "Sooo whats on the agenda for after work?"

Roshia blinked, "So.. you never... like ever done anything remotely naughty or bad? I mean... if you haven't then you are an angel. Sophie why are you such a good girl. Ugh I was worried that Rowan was going to get this... well he did get, this really hot lady and leave me for her. But you are his cousin and I am thinking about leaving him for you." It was obvious she was flirting but she reeled it in. "Sorry, I am so used of being this way with Ofelia that I forget boundaries. So no men in your life? Are you seeing anyone?" She asked and took a sip of her drink.

"Kensie wouldn't kill you, she would join you." Ivie laughed. "And good, that you eat pretty much anything, because Kensie says it is really good." Ivie swung her feet gently. She couldn't reach the floor which made her feel like a little kid. "Uhm... not really. Forrest is still going to be with his daddy. I don't want to go over there just yet and I want Forrest to bond with his sister while he can. Very important for the two. So I was going to do some yard work, maybe... I also was thinking about the daycare thing you were talking about. I would love to do it, but it will take a bit since I am a single mother and getting things for it would cost some money. And then I feel horrible for leaving Kensie and Will. They are my friends..." She said softly.

"Yeah Ros flirts with me all the time. Sometimes I let her get a cuddle out of me too. Rowan doesnt seem to mind. But i'll steal her from him one day!" Ofelia said and got a devious grin on her face. "Oh.Well..I'm not sure what you mean by naughty or bad...But no, Im not seeing anyone at the moment..I think Rowan may be just a tad upset if I steal you away...He talks about you and the kids a lot at work." Sophie said, folding her hands in her lap.

"Oooh well I may have to help her tease him then. That would be a lot of fun." Blair said and smiled. "Yardwork huh? Well I think I know a certain someone who would absolutely love to help you with some yard work...She'll even work for belly rubs." He said and chuckled a little bit. "She was real mad at me for not coming home last night. You should have seen the disapproving look she gave me. I felt like I was in trouble." He said with a sigh. "The dog is far too sassy...Well you could start with just one or two kids at the house if you wanted to, to save up..An Im sure Will and Kensie wouldnt be mad about you starting up something you want to do, they are your friends after all."

Roshia blinked, "He does?" She said softly. It made her smile and then looked back at her. "Sophie, no one is this pure. You are killing me. Ofelia... she has never... and she...oh lord. I think...you should be my pet, Sophie. Rowan will come around to it. You look so cute. Ugh, but no... he did say you were always proper. You know you can call him Rowan, right?" She said, tilting her head.

Ivie nodded, "Dawn would be the best option to gather sticks. It is a weird way of playing chase." She smiled and played with a napkin. "Yeah... but Roshia stays with her kids and so does all the other mom's I know. It is a lot harder than you think Blair." She said softly before their food came. "Ohhh look at this!" She smiled and looked over to the kitchen window. Will was staring nervously at them and Ivie smiled evilly at him. "You are going to kill him, Ivie." She giggled. "You to lovers enjoy. Oh! When will be a good day to go to the beach?" She asked.

Ivie looked at her and then Blair.

Sophie nodded. "Mhmm. Says he cant wait to get home to you guys. Its very sweet." She said and then looked a tad confused about the pet thing. But she nodded about calling Rowan by his name "I know, I will outside of work. Though on the clock its still proper etiquette to address my boss by his surname, so I will continue that practice." She said with a gentle smile. Ofelia looked bewildered that someone this proper and pure even existed. The girl was like a damn angel.

Blair laughed a little at Ivie's evil smile. "How are you cute when you're evil?" He asked and then looked at Will who looked really nervous, then he looked back at Kensie. "Im always free on weekends. And ive got a lot of vacation days ive yet to take, so whenever you want to go is good with me." He said.

Roshia leaned over the table and touched Sophie's shoulder. "Yeah okay... she is real and I am not losing my damn mind. If it makes you happy to address him by that name. As long as you call me Roshia or Rosie I think I could take it. I think I would die. Anyway, so you never had a uh..." She looked at Ofelia for a perfect way to say it. "Uhm... partner... in a uh... romantic way? You are like this pure angel that I need to protect." She dropped her head, "Ofelia... I am falling in love..." She said softly.

Ivie took a bite of the food and swooned. She looked back at Will and gave him two thumbs up with a big smile. "This is so good" She said and looked at the two. "Well Forrest is with his daddy this weekend so I am free then. That is good with you?" She asked. "I mean, I know it is a couple days away." She said softly.

"No...that is perfect! This weekend. The beach by the lake. Uhm... let's say... uhh twelve? Yeah? Thank you two so much. Can't wait to see Officer Bubble Butt in his swim trunks." She winked and ran off. Ivie blinked and looked at him. "Ha... I might have told her the name once or... four times." She smiled.

Ofelia laughed at Roshia. "Of course she is. We cant all be hallucinating or something Ros. Not all at once anyways. Ugh whys Rowan gotta steal all the cute ones..I know she's his cousin, but he doesnt desere a cousin this adorable." Ofelia said and crossed her arms. Sophie looked over at Roshia when she touched her shoulder, though it was quickly explained. She giggled a little and then shook her head. "I havent." She said simply.

Blair blinked and glared playfully at Ivie. "You are bad. Bad bad, Ivie. I bet she told Will...Ugh im gonna die..." Blair said and then took a bite of the food and looked like he was going to melt. "How does he do this...His food is always so good..and those desserts..Dont get me started on the desserts..Will is a god in the kitchen. I can see why Kensie married him." He said with a smile.

Roshia died, "You are... ugh welcome to our group. You put... well me to shame. Ofelia may act like a little vixen, but she a good girl at heart. She is married to my older brother and is having their first kid. And you know me, Rowan's wife with the two marshmallows sleeping in their room. We know you as Lady Angel who likes old ladies, being polite, and not doing anything naughty. Rowan told me a little about you, I think he said you were shy. I could be wrong... we in the middle of talking after his mother's house... Nope I think it was his mother that was telling me that." She smiled apologetically.

Ivie giggled, "He didn't go to school for it for no reason. And for desserts he made Peach and Raspberry Shortcake for dessert and Angel Cake With Blackberries and White Currants" Ivie smiled big and swayed in her seat like a little girl. "I tried the shortcake and it is super good." She giggled and blushed. "I think she thinks he is a god in other places, but I only know because she told me. Not that I would know personally." She said nervously and began eating again.
