Spencer smiled when Amell said that he knew how fun fishing and hiking and camping could be. He wasn't surprised that the big man who'd fixed up this huge house was an outdoorsy type. When he asked if they had thought of a clubhouse name, he blinked slightly. "Well, no...our clubhouse never really had a name. We just called it the clubhouse," he said with a laugh. "But maybe we need a really cool treehouse name for it. I'll ask her what she thinks of that while we're looking for a tree."
Amell nodded, "Sounds good... so tell me some things about your family. I know there is Kyle, who seems to know how to stand his ground. That's good.... and then there is you.... you said you had another brother and sister. I would like to know a bit more about them too, if you don't mind." He said and smiled.
Isla smiled, "Oh good... so that just leaves us with payment. Will that be paid now or the day of the classes?" She asked him. She really wanted this man to get the fuck out of the shop.
Vlora nodded, "I know, I don't shoot messengers." She smirked. She liked his arm being around her shoulders and she leaned in. When he kissed her cheek she smiled and looked up at him before laughing. "Oh? Well I could pay you back AND it be a lesson... all while making you feel good." She teased and winked at him before looking over to keep an eye on Hazel who had managed to get the ducks to all follow her.
Spencer smiled when Amell asked to hear more about his family, giving a little bit of a shrug. "Well, Kyle is the oldest and I'm the youngest. Then Aaron and Cynthia are in the middle. Aaron's kinda quiet but he's a good brother. My sister's pretty cool. She likes making things. She takes all these pottery and sewing classes - oh, and she does this thing called calligraphy? Sometimes she writes on my drawings and it looks really cool," he said with a grin.
The elven man smiled when she asked about payment and he reached into his pocket, pulling out his wallet. "I'll pay now for the month," he told her with a smile. "How much will it be?" he asked. Before there was a chance for her to answer, though, Dash randomly started barking at Soup, who had just woken up and stretched on top of the cat condo. Soup hissed at the dog, which only made him bark louder. The door to the back opened a moment later and Rhyanid stepped out, having heard the barking dog. He eyed it, but he didn't recognize it as one of the dogs he was training so he knew it wasn't his place to step in and discipline someone else's dog.
Bastian smiled when she said she didn't shoot messengers. "Ah. An idiom of yours with which I'm actually familiar," he said. When she suggested paying him back and making him feel good, a slight smirk came to his lips. "I suppose that could be arranged. Are you busy tonight?" he murmured, lifting one hand and tucking some loose hair tenderly behind her ear.
Amell listened and smirked, "Well nothin wrong in being quiet. I actually have two sisters who are mute and can't speak at all. And your sister might like Hazel since she can sew too." He said and then thought about what to ask a thirteen year old boy.
Isla was going to answer when the dog started to bark at the cat. She went over and got Soup before gently picking him up and soothed him before placing him into the office and going back to the man and telling him how much he had owed. "Rhyan, this your new doggo to train." She smiled.
Vlora giggled before blushing a tad, "Hmm nope... I am as free as a bird tonight." She whispered and went to kiss him when Hazel caught her eye. She was staring at the two and smirking before singing the K-I-S-S-I-N-G song and skipping off to play somewhere. "Ugh that child... she is too much like my family already." She said softly and kissed him. "You look very handsome today." She smiled. The two looked so very opposite.
Spencer smiled a bit when Amell said there was nothing wrong with being quiet. "Yeah. I'm kinda quiet when I'm not with people I know. You seem nice, though, and you're Hazel's dad, so that's cool!" he said cheerfully. He grinned when Amell said that Hazel could sew. "I'm not surprised! Hazel kinda reminds me of one of those people who wants to try everything. I bet she'll like my sister lots. I hope they don't start hanging out and making it girls only, though," he said, frowning a bit at the prospect of losing his new friend to his sister.
The man ignored the barking dog and started to pull out some money. Rhyanid eyed him a bit warily, since he didn't like that the man was making no move to get the dog to settle down. When Isla said that he was going to be training the dog, though, he almost breathed a sigh of relief and he gave a nod. "Oh, great," he said. The man gave him a brief smile before handing over the money to Isla.
Bastian smiled when Vlora confirmed that she was free tonight. He leaned in to meet her kiss but then he heard Hazel's singing and he chuckled a bit. "Well, she is your family. There is no harm in that," he told her, kissing her back softly. When she said he looked handsome, he smiled at her. "And you look very beautiful, ma cherie. Of course, you always seem to look beautiful, so I'm not in the least bit surprised," he said.
Amell laughed a bit, "Thanks, I try to be sometimes." He said and then shook his head. "If you show her how devoted you are to her and the friendship you will never lose her." He said softly. "I am sure you know that I just met Hazel not too long ago and from what I see she is very loyal. You treat her right and she will hold you dear to her heart and stay close. I don't think you will be losing her to anyone if you treat her good, okay?" he smiled.
Isla took the money and wrote down the date and time before handing it to the elf and then running into the back to get away from him. Her heart was pounding. It was a bit too much for her at the moment. She felt stupid because he didn't seem to take an interest in her at all and so she should have been scared.
Vlora smiled, "Why thank you..." She said softly. Hazel ran by and so did the ducks. "Dear god... maybe we should get scared if she decides to make an army of ducks. We will be doomed, Amor." She said softly and laughed a bit. "You know she really likes her little Spencer friend. Wouldn't stop talking about his drawings and clubhouse... so I won't tell her father about Kyle because knowing my brother he is going to make her stop hanging with the little boy and she needs friends." She said softly and frowned a bit. "I am trusting you on this... okay?" She said softly.
Spencer smiled when Amell told him that if he was a good friend and treated Hazel well, he wouldn't lose her as a friend. He gave a nod. "Well, good. I'm glad to hear that. I really want her to be my super best friend. My last super best friend moved away and I haven't heard from him in a while, so I don't think we're really super best friends any more," he told Amell.
The man took the date and time from Isla and smiled, but she ran off before he could thank her. So, instead, he turned towards Rhyanid and smiled. "Tell her thanks. I guess I'll be seeing you on Wednesday?" he asked, and Rhyanid nodded. "Sounds like it, yeah," he said, and the man nodded. "See you around, then," he said, glancing briefly at the door to the back before heading out with his dog. Rhyanid went and sat back down at the counter, pulling out a spray bottle and some disposable towels and beginning to wipe down the surface of the counter.
Bastian watched Hazel run by with the ducks, blinking. "Is there not a story about a princess who charms the animals with her singing, or something along those lines? What was the name... Blanche-Neige? Is that not what she does?" he asked with a slight smile before looking back at Vlora. "Spencer seems like a good kid. I never really had a chance to speak with him in-depth because he was only twelve at the time and his parents didn't want him hearing any details about the case, which is entirely understandable, but he seems good from everything I've been told. The daughter is delightful as well," he said. He lifted a hand and cupped Vlora's cheek gently. "I assure you, you've nothing to worry about with Hazel being around Kyle Callahan," he said before leaning in and kissing her softly.
Amell frowned a bit, "Well I am sorry to hear that. I have to get to some work, but feel free to look around. Oh... come on you can stay in Hazel's room and draw. She has the best view in the house." He said and showed him her room before leaving him be.
Isla came out a moment later and hurried into the shelves. She needed to stop her nonsense. She couldn't run away from every blond elf man.
Vlora laughed, "Ha... Snow White. I know what Blanche is. Look at me being so smart." She giggled and then looked at her niece. "She does in a way remind me of that... she just doesn't need a man to save her." She said softly before looking back at him. She listened and smiled softly, leaning into his hand. "Okay..." She said softly before kissing him back. Hazel came up to them, "Sooo hate to cut our date short but I need to run home since Spence is coming over and I fear daddy might scare him away. If we can walk to the bridge I can run home since it is only the city he doesn't want me walking alone in." She smiled. "Then you two can go smoosh faces in private instead of a children's park. One mother had to shelter her child's eyes." She laughed softly and covered her mouth.
Spencer nodded when Amell said he was sorry to hear it and that he had to get some work done. When he suggested drawing in Hazel's room, Spencer couldn't help but to grin. "Really?" he asked excitedly before following Amell to Hazel's room. He wasn't kidding; the view was beautiful from her room. After Amell left he pulled out his sketchpad and got to it.
Rhyanid looked up when Isla came back out and disappeared into the shelves. He smiled a bit, mostly to himself, and continued with what he was doing. She was an odd duck, but she was a hard worker and that was what really counted.
Bastian smiled when Vlora knew what Snow White was, giving her an approving nod. "Of course she doesn't. My mother always taught me that it's a woman's world, and men are simply living in it. I don't know how much truth there is to such a statement, since I am a firm believer in equality between the sexes, but I heard her say more than once that men are optional, and that if a woman chooses to have a man in her life it's because she genuinely appreciates his company and not because she needs him in any way," he said with a shake of his head. He glanced up when Hazel came, blinking slightly at her words but nodding. "We can certainly walk you to the bridge," he said, standing up and gently taking Vlora's hand again, helping her up as well.
