Appearance:
Because he is still only thirteen years of age, Spencer has yet to reach his full height, weight, or body mass. He currently stands at an approximate five feet and three inches, although he's in the middle of a period of rapid growth and will probably grow taller at a very rapid rate. He weighs roughly 120lbs and his body type is a bit lanky, although that's because he's in a growth spurt. His parents suspect that he'll be tall and slim when he's older. Spencer has fair skin that is always lightly tanned because of the time he spends outdoors, and his shaggy hair is a blond colour that gets lighter when exposed to sunlight. He has strong brows and slightly narrow blue eyes. He generally dresses quite simply, wearing t-shirts and jeans or shorts, although sometimes he'll wear a button-up shirt or a jacket as well. Spencer has a small birthmark on his right leg and really wants to get one of his ears pierced.

Image

Personality:
Spencer is a bit on the quiet side, though he's not quite shy - he just doesn't have a lot to say. He's friendly enough, though, and while he enjoys playing with other kids, he also enjoys doing independent activities. Spencer has a passion for drawing, but he's generally quite private about it. He always carries a sketchpad and pencils around in his bag, just in case inspiration strikes. Spencer is relatively optimistic. He's not a very bold or headstrong person, and can be a tad sensitive. Spencer has a really cool coin collection.

Image

History/Bio:
Spencer was born the youngest child of Richard and Jodie Callahan. He has three older siblings: Cynthia is fifteen, Aaron is sixteen, and Kyle is nineteen. Spencer's parents are a bit older than most parents of kids his age, since they didn't start having children until they were in their mid-thirties and Spencer was born when they were in their early forties, now putting them in their mid-fifties. His parents chose to have children late because they wanted to establish themselves and know that, financially, they were ready for children. They own a successful and popular coffee shop in the city along with a rental apartment above it. Richard works as a financial advisor, though he is considering retirement, while Jodie runs the day-to-day business of the coffee shop and does nail art on the side. Spencer's childhood has been pretty much average for a kid growing up on the islands. He does well in school, enjoys playing with other kids, and really looks up to his two older brothers. He really wants to be an artist of some sort one day, whether it's doing police sketch art, sketching ideas for architects, or selling his artwork commercially.

So begins...

Spencer smiled when Amell said that he knew how fun fishing and hiking and camping could be. He wasn't surprised that the big man who'd fixed up this huge house was an outdoorsy type. When he asked if they had thought of a clubhouse name, he blinked slightly. "Well, no...our clubhouse never really had a name. We just called it the clubhouse," he said with a laugh. "But maybe we need a really cool treehouse name for it. I'll ask her what she thinks of that while we're looking for a tree."

Amell nodded, "Sounds good... so tell me some things about your family. I know there is Kyle, who seems to know how to stand his ground. That's good.... and then there is you.... you said you had another brother and sister. I would like to know a bit more about them too, if you don't mind." He said and smiled.

Isla smiled, "Oh good... so that just leaves us with payment. Will that be paid now or the day of the classes?" She asked him. She really wanted this man to get the fuck out of the shop.

Vlora nodded, "I know, I don't shoot messengers." She smirked. She liked his arm being around her shoulders and she leaned in. When he kissed her cheek she smiled and looked up at him before laughing. "Oh? Well I could pay you back AND it be a lesson... all while making you feel good." She teased and winked at him before looking over to keep an eye on Hazel who had managed to get the ducks to all follow her.

Spencer smiled when Amell asked to hear more about his family, giving a little bit of a shrug. "Well, Kyle is the oldest and I'm the youngest. Then Aaron and Cynthia are in the middle. Aaron's kinda quiet but he's a good brother. My sister's pretty cool. She likes making things. She takes all these pottery and sewing classes - oh, and she does this thing called calligraphy? Sometimes she writes on my drawings and it looks really cool," he said with a grin.

The elven man smiled when she asked about payment and he reached into his pocket, pulling out his wallet. "I'll pay now for the month," he told her with a smile. "How much will it be?" he asked. Before there was a chance for her to answer, though, Dash randomly started barking at Soup, who had just woken up and stretched on top of the cat condo. Soup hissed at the dog, which only made him bark louder. The door to the back opened a moment later and Rhyanid stepped out, having heard the barking dog. He eyed it, but he didn't recognize it as one of the dogs he was training so he knew it wasn't his place to step in and discipline someone else's dog.

Bastian smiled when she said she didn't shoot messengers. "Ah. An idiom of yours with which I'm actually familiar," he said. When she suggested paying him back and making him feel good, a slight smirk came to his lips. "I suppose that could be arranged. Are you busy tonight?" he murmured, lifting one hand and tucking some loose hair tenderly behind her ear.

Amell listened and smirked, "Well nothin wrong in being quiet. I actually have two sisters who are mute and can't speak at all. And your sister might like Hazel since she can sew too." He said and then thought about what to ask a thirteen year old boy.

Isla was going to answer when the dog started to bark at the cat. She went over and got Soup before gently picking him up and soothed him before placing him into the office and going back to the man and telling him how much he had owed. "Rhyan, this your new doggo to train." She smiled.

Vlora giggled before blushing a tad, "Hmm nope... I am as free as a bird tonight." She whispered and went to kiss him when Hazel caught her eye. She was staring at the two and smirking before singing the K-I-S-S-I-N-G song and skipping off to play somewhere. "Ugh that child... she is too much like my family already." She said softly and kissed him. "You look very handsome today." She smiled. The two looked so very opposite.

Spencer smiled a bit when Amell said there was nothing wrong with being quiet. "Yeah. I'm kinda quiet when I'm not with people I know. You seem nice, though, and you're Hazel's dad, so that's cool!" he said cheerfully. He grinned when Amell said that Hazel could sew. "I'm not surprised! Hazel kinda reminds me of one of those people who wants to try everything. I bet she'll like my sister lots. I hope they don't start hanging out and making it girls only, though," he said, frowning a bit at the prospect of losing his new friend to his sister.

The man ignored the barking dog and started to pull out some money. Rhyanid eyed him a bit warily, since he didn't like that the man was making no move to get the dog to settle down. When Isla said that he was going to be training the dog, though, he almost breathed a sigh of relief and he gave a nod. "Oh, great," he said. The man gave him a brief smile before handing over the money to Isla.

Bastian smiled when Vlora confirmed that she was free tonight. He leaned in to meet her kiss but then he heard Hazel's singing and he chuckled a bit. "Well, she is your family. There is no harm in that," he told her, kissing her back softly. When she said he looked handsome, he smiled at her. "And you look very beautiful, ma cherie. Of course, you always seem to look beautiful, so I'm not in the least bit surprised," he said.

Amell laughed a bit, "Thanks, I try to be sometimes." He said and then shook his head. "If you show her how devoted you are to her and the friendship you will never lose her." He said softly. "I am sure you know that I just met Hazel not too long ago and from what I see she is very loyal. You treat her right and she will hold you dear to her heart and stay close. I don't think you will be losing her to anyone if you treat her good, okay?" he smiled.

Isla took the money and wrote down the date and time before handing it to the elf and then running into the back to get away from him. Her heart was pounding. It was a bit too much for her at the moment. She felt stupid because he didn't seem to take an interest in her at all and so she should have been scared.

Vlora smiled, "Why thank you..." She said softly. Hazel ran by and so did the ducks. "Dear god... maybe we should get scared if she decides to make an army of ducks. We will be doomed, Amor." She said softly and laughed a bit. "You know she really likes her little Spencer friend. Wouldn't stop talking about his drawings and clubhouse... so I won't tell her father about Kyle because knowing my brother he is going to make her stop hanging with the little boy and she needs friends." She said softly and frowned a bit. "I am trusting you on this... okay?" She said softly.

Spencer smiled when Amell told him that if he was a good friend and treated Hazel well, he wouldn't lose her as a friend. He gave a nod. "Well, good. I'm glad to hear that. I really want her to be my super best friend. My last super best friend moved away and I haven't heard from him in a while, so I don't think we're really super best friends any more," he told Amell.

The man took the date and time from Isla and smiled, but she ran off before he could thank her. So, instead, he turned towards Rhyanid and smiled. "Tell her thanks. I guess I'll be seeing you on Wednesday?" he asked, and Rhyanid nodded. "Sounds like it, yeah," he said, and the man nodded. "See you around, then," he said, glancing briefly at the door to the back before heading out with his dog. Rhyanid went and sat back down at the counter, pulling out a spray bottle and some disposable towels and beginning to wipe down the surface of the counter.

Bastian watched Hazel run by with the ducks, blinking. "Is there not a story about a princess who charms the animals with her singing, or something along those lines? What was the name... Blanche-Neige? Is that not what she does?" he asked with a slight smile before looking back at Vlora. "Spencer seems like a good kid. I never really had a chance to speak with him in-depth because he was only twelve at the time and his parents didn't want him hearing any details about the case, which is entirely understandable, but he seems good from everything I've been told. The daughter is delightful as well," he said. He lifted a hand and cupped Vlora's cheek gently. "I assure you, you've nothing to worry about with Hazel being around Kyle Callahan," he said before leaning in and kissing her softly.

Amell frowned a bit, "Well I am sorry to hear that. I have to get to some work, but feel free to look around. Oh... come on you can stay in Hazel's room and draw. She has the best view in the house." He said and showed him her room before leaving him be.

Isla came out a moment later and hurried into the shelves. She needed to stop her nonsense. She couldn't run away from every blond elf man.

Vlora laughed, "Ha... Snow White. I know what Blanche is. Look at me being so smart." She giggled and then looked at her niece. "She does in a way remind me of that... she just doesn't need a man to save her." She said softly before looking back at him. She listened and smiled softly, leaning into his hand. "Okay..." She said softly before kissing him back. Hazel came up to them, "Sooo hate to cut our date short but I need to run home since Spence is coming over and I fear daddy might scare him away. If we can walk to the bridge I can run home since it is only the city he doesn't want me walking alone in." She smiled. "Then you two can go smoosh faces in private instead of a children's park. One mother had to shelter her child's eyes." She laughed softly and covered her mouth.

Spencer nodded when Amell said he was sorry to hear it and that he had to get some work done. When he suggested drawing in Hazel's room, Spencer couldn't help but to grin. "Really?" he asked excitedly before following Amell to Hazel's room. He wasn't kidding; the view was beautiful from her room. After Amell left he pulled out his sketchpad and got to it.

Rhyanid looked up when Isla came back out and disappeared into the shelves. He smiled a bit, mostly to himself, and continued with what he was doing. She was an odd duck, but she was a hard worker and that was what really counted.

Bastian smiled when Vlora knew what Snow White was, giving her an approving nod. "Of course she doesn't. My mother always taught me that it's a woman's world, and men are simply living in it. I don't know how much truth there is to such a statement, since I am a firm believer in equality between the sexes, but I heard her say more than once that men are optional, and that if a woman chooses to have a man in her life it's because she genuinely appreciates his company and not because she needs him in any way," he said with a shake of his head. He glanced up when Hazel came, blinking slightly at her words but nodding. "We can certainly walk you to the bridge," he said, standing up and gently taking Vlora's hand again, helping her up as well.

Isla decided she wanted to scare Rhyan because elf men deserved to be scared so when he was really into his work she slowly creeped around to the side where they get to the back of the counter and jumped out. "RAWR!" She screamed before giggling.

Vlora smiled, "One, I like your mom's words, but I agree with you the most. Equal is the best option for a more peaceful living." She said before looking up at her niece and smiling. Vlora gently took his hand and walked with them to the bridge. Hazel told them she had fun and thanked Bastian for hanging out with her before running off.

Hazel flew into the house, "Did Spencer come today?" She asked and he pointed to her room. She blinked before running up the stairs and busted into her room. "What in the world are you doing in my room? Did my father let you in? Please don't judge my messy room." She groaned and blushed while panting. "I am still unpacking."

Rhyanid was focusing on his work and hadn't noticed when Isla started creeping around behind him. When she jumped up suddenly and shouted at him, he jumped, his eyes widening in shock and a startled shout escaping his mouth. He stared at her for a second, processing what had just happened, and then he smiled a bit. "You really are full of the jokes today," he said, reaching out and patting her head gently. Lanissa emerged from the back room a moment later, accompanied by Zelipia. "Is everything okay?" Lanissa asked, and Rhyanid nodded. "Yeah, it's all good. Isla just spooked me a bit," he said, and the women nodded before retreating back into the back.

Bastian grinned when Vlora agreed with him, nodding a bit. "I knew you were a smart woman," he said. He walked with her and Hazel to the bridge, giving the young girl a polite nod before she ran off and then looking back at Vlora. "She's charming. An utter delight. I would not be opposed to watching her again in the future," he said before gently starting to lead her by the hand back into the city and towards his law firm.

Spencer was drawing when Hazel came bursting into the room and he blinked, a bit started as he looked over at her. "Uhh, yeah, your dad said I could wait here for you. He said to do some drawing since your view is the best in the house," he told her with a grin. When she said she was still unpacking, he blinked and then looked around. "Honestly, I hadn't even noticed. It just kinda looks the same as my messy room," he said with a bit of a grin.

Isla couldn't stop laughing when he screamed. She hadn't tensed up that time he touched her, maybe Rhyan wasn't such a bad guy after all. "Nice to know you scream like a girl." She giggled and looked back when she heard the door to the back open. She waited until they left to shake her head. "I guess mice to scare elephants." She giggled before walking back into the stacks.

Vlora smiled and kissed his hand as they walked. "I am glad you two got along so well. It makes me happy to know that I don't have to worry about you two not getting along." She said softly and noticed they were heading to his office. "Hmm we are heading to your office. Am I going to get to see your work face again today?" She teased softly.

Hazel blinked, "huh... okay..." She said and went sat next to him. When he talked about how he didn't notice her room she laughed. "Well once I get settled it will look a bit better. How is the drawing going? I bet well since you are a pretty darn good drawer." She said and looked out of the window at the lake.

Rhyanid smiled and shook his head a bit at Isla. She was pretty funny, he had to give her that. "Mice to scare elephants, indeed. Although I hardly think I'm an elephant. I'm more of a giraffe," he told her with a chuckle before getting back to what he was doing. The rest of the day progressed pretty normally, though Rhyan was periodically peeking outside. The blond elven man from earlier seemed to be hanging around in the area, and by the time it was time for Isla to head home, the man was settled into a patio table at a cafe that was almost kitty-corner from the pet shop. Rhyan set aside his work and walked over to Isla. "Hey...would you mind if I walked you home?" he asked softly.

Bastian smiled when she said she was glad not to worry about them. "I can see no reason why one might have difficulty getting along with a child, especially not one so clever and vivacious as your niece," he told her. When she commented on the fact that they were heading to his office, he smiled a bit. "No, not my work face. I simply realized this morning while we were in the park that there may or may not be a connection between a current case and an old one, so I'm going to grab that file and look over it," he said.

Spencer smiled when she sat down next to him and asked how the drawing was going, and he shrugged a bit. "It's going, I guess. It really is a good view of the lake from up here. I'm kinda jealous now," he said with a laugh, closing up his sketchbook and putting it in his bag. "Did you wanna go find a tree now? Your dad said we have to find a really good tree," he said.

Isla hadn't noticed the man hanging around since she was too busy working and dealing with customers. It was almost time to go and she was excited since today had been a long one and she just wanted to get her boy and go home. When Rhyan came up to her she smiled but then that faded rather quickly when he asked to walk her home. "I am sorry... but I would really rather you not." She said softly and backed away. Right when she thought he was a good guy he showed his true colors. Isla moved out of his reaching area and moved to another aisle.

Vlora liked how Bastian got along with her niece and loved how sweet he was to her. She also liked that her niece had liked him and thought he was a good man. If she didn't Vlora didn't think she could be with him. Her family always came first. When he told he told her that he saw a connection. "Oh? Is this old case the one we talked about?" She asked and kissed his shoulder. People gave them odd looks but she didn't pay attention to it. She knew very well how opposite they looked right now.

Hazel giggled, "Well you can come over and stare out my window anytime you would like since my father thinks it is okay for you to be in my room." She said and laughed a bit. "Oh yes... we should def go look for a tree... maybe somewhere we can see the lake? And a name? Hmm... Hazencer? Spenzal?" She giggled at how funny the names sounded. "Or we can wait till we find the perfect tree and have it speak to us." She said softly. She missed her friends back at home, but starting a new life and finding a good friend in at least one person that wasn't related was good. She liked Spencer so far. He was nice and funny and calm and talented.

Rhyanid blinked when Isla declined his offer. He glanced towards the door and then looked at her as she moved to another aisle. He walked to that aisle, standing near the end. "Look, I could be wrong and it could be nothing, but that guy from earlier - the one with the barking dog - is still here. He's been hanging around outside and now he's sitting at the coffee shop over there," he said, pointing as subtly as he could. "I mean, it's up to you, but I didn't get good vibes from that guy earlier and I really don't have a good feeling about him being there," he said, his expression concerned. He wasn't usually one to worry about much of anything, but in this instance, he was concerned.

Bastian walked along with her, glancing down when she asked if it was the case they had discussed and shaking his head. "No. A similar one, though. The one we discussed was much simpler than these ones - these ones have witnesses giving contradictory statements, a few different alibis are being given, and the evidence is mostly circumstantial. They're messy. The one we discussed was much simpler," he said. He was also noticing that people were giving him odd looks, but he wasn't sure why people seemed to be looking so oddly at them. They were almost at the firm when a middle-aged blonde woman gave them a smile. "Mr. De Larousse!" she said, and Bastian grinned. "Mrs. Callahan, what a coincidence! We were actually discussing your family earlier," he said, and the woman smiled a bit, quirking an eyebrow. "You were, were you?" she asked, and he nodded. "Yes. This is Vlora. Vlora's niece seems to have become friends with your Spencer," he said, and the woman grinned a bit. "Oh! Your niece must be Hazel, then. Spencer was going on and on about her over breakfast this morning," she said.

Spencer laughed when she spoke and he nodded. "Yeah... I mean, that's probably not gonna last very long, but for now. My parents don't think boys and girls should be in one another's rooms. Cynthia has friends who are boys who don't get to go in her room, and Kyle and Aaron have never been allowed to have girls in their rooms," he said. When she suggested finding a tree near the lake, he nodded. "That sounds good!" he said. "Spenzel is actually kind of a cool name. We could call it Fort Spenzel! Or Casa Spenzel!" he said, laughing a little. "Let's go!"

Isla blinked when he followed her and she was about to tell him to leave her alone, but then he explained and she peeked from the shelves and saw what Rhyan was talking about. "Oh..." She sighed. "Well I have to go get my son... so if you don't mind the extra walking." She said. Isla was getting real tired of these people. "Sorry... didn't... didn't know what you wanted to walk me home for." She said softly and then sighed.

Vlora listened, "I wouldn't want to be you, Amor." She said softly. "I like beating up bad guys much more than throwing them in a cement box." She smirked. Vlora had loved the feeling of beating the shit out of bad guys. It was much more satisfying. When the blond woman came up she smiled softly. She was quiet as the two talked and when he mentioned that Spencer was hers she smiled a bit bigger. "Well, I am glad he is excited to be friends with my niece. She just ran off to go look for a tree with him." She said softly.

Hazel nodded, "My mom was like that, which is why I think it is so strange he let you into my room and is okay... but I mean... he just became a father so that might change." She giggled and got up. "Come on." She smiled and walked out with him. "Fort Spenzel sounds really cool." She said. "We are going tree hunting, daddy!" She called. "Okay, you two be safe and come tell me if you leave the lake island!" He called out. "Okay!" She called out and walked out of the house. "Left or right?" She asked.

Rhyanid shook his head when she said she had to get her son. "It's fine. I'd rather you be safe. It's not an inconvenience for me," he told her. "Let's go get you punched out and I'll let my mom know we're leaving so she can send Zel up front or something," he said with a smile. When she apologized, he blinked a bit. "Why, what'd you think, I was gonna walk you home as if this was a date? Work's no date, and I've got a girlfriend, silly," he said teasingly, giving her a grin.

Bastian blinked when Vlora said she preferred beating up bad guys, looking down at her but not really able to respond since she said it right before they were approached by Spencer's mother. When Vlora talked, Mrs. Callahan grinned. "Oh, yes, he was telling us about the tree house idea this morning! My husband thinks it's just a wonderful idea. Spencer is getting a tad too big for the clubhouse and my husband was talking about getting rid of it, but if it's in a tree on the lake island then all the kids from town will be able to enjoy it!" she said. Bastian stayed silent, figuring he'd let the women talk.

Spencer laughed when she said her mom had been like that and pointed out that her dad had only just started being a dad. "True. Maybe he doesn't know parents have to be picky about that," he said with a laugh before following her out. He waited while she told her dad that they were leaving, and once they were outside and she asked which way to go, he narrowed his eyes a bit. "Left," he said firmly.

Isla nodded before rolling her eyes, "I have my reasons to be wary when you date a woman like Victoria and with my past history of elven men." She said softly before walking in the back and waving at her boss before going punch out. She was tired and she knew once she got James home it was just going to need more energy.

Vlora giggled, "I am sure if they find a big enough tree my brother can expand it a bit and like you said it will be great for the community of kids. Those two are going to have fun. Your son seems charming, so I am glad that Hazel could find her a friend so quickly." She said softly and looked up at Bastian and then back at her.

Hazel smiled, "Left it is!" She said and walked towards the left. She looked at the trees they had passed and didn't find anything yet. "So does your parents know you are here today? I kind of got in trouble yesterday for just up and leaving. Apparently, my father got really worried and looked all over. He also almost punched Kyle which... I am glad he didn't. My father was born and raised to defend people. I would have been really worried about Kyle if my father didn't have a level head. Though I think Kyle would have been able to hold his own gro-!" She was interrupted when he tripped and stumbled forward. She landed on her hands and knees but laughed softly.

Rhyanid raised an eyebrow a bit at Isla's comment, but nodded. Perhaps she meant her son's father when she mentioned her past history with elven men. His abuse theory was holding up so far. He headed into the back with her and told his mother where he was going and why. She looked concerned and nodded, telling him to go ahead and to make sure Isla got home safely before she went to get Zelipia from the back room and get her to go watch the front of the shop.

Mrs. Callahan grinned when Vlora told her that Spencer seemed charming and that she was glad the kids were friends. "Well, from everything Spencer said, Hazel sounds delightful as well!" she said, and Bastian nodded. "Oh, she most certainly is," he chimed in. "She's a clever young lady. She even greeted me en français when we met," he said, and Mrs. Callahan clapped her hands. "Oh, isn't that lovely!" she said. "My husband and I were talking after Spencer left this morning about the possibility of inviting this Hazel and her family over for dinner. Do you think you and your brother might like that? You'd be more than welcome to bring along Mr. De Larousse, of course. Bastian is always welcome for dinner at our home," she said, giving him a fond smile.

Spencer walked with her, eyeing up all the trees they passed, but none of them seemed to have the space or size that he figured you'd need to support a tree house. When she spoke, he blinked. "Oh, yeah, I always tell my parents where I'm going. I figured your dad would be okay with you come over, otherwise you woulda gone to tell him," he said. "I'm sorry you got in trouble! I didn't realize," he said. When she was talking about Kyle and then tripped, he blinked, hurrying to offer her a hand up. "Are you okay?" he asked.

When Isla was done she looked up at Rhyan, "Okay let's go... if he hits on you and calls you a pretty boy I will beat him up. Don't worry. I will protect you." She said and smiled before waving at her boss and Zel before walking out of the store. "You sure he wasn't just trying to wait for you? So rude to assume he was interested in me." She joked.

Vlora smiled and when she invited them to dinner she mentally cursed, "Oh, that would sound lovely. I am sure Hazel would love that and I know my brother really wants to meet you and your husband." She said softly. Vlora only hoped that this one would go without incident. She would be on her best behavior for this one.

Hazel took his hand and got up, "Thanks, I am okay." She laughed a bit and looked down before walking over to the lake and washing her cut a bit and then going back over to him. "It is okay, it was my fault. I knew I should have since I would do that with my momma, but... I made a dumb decision is all." She smiled and continued to walk with him. Each tree was nice but it seemed like they were too small. She had turned back and saw that they had made it pretty far from her house, which didn't bother her since she would have liked to have some kind of privacy. She pointed to a tree, "What about that one?" She asked.

Rhyanid blinked when Isla said she'd beat the guy up if he hit on him, smirking a little. "Deal," he said before heading out with her. He noticed the guy eyeing them as they passed, but he didn't do or say anything, simply chuckled at Isla's comment. "Well, I mean, you are tiny and adorable. Creeps are drawn to that kind of thing. It's okay, though. I'll protect you from the creeps and you can protect me from the creeps. You deserve to find a nice guy, not some guy who hangs around your work and maybe waits for you, or maybe waits for me, whichever."

Mrs. Callahan grinned when Vlora said that dinner sounded lovely, nodding. "Wonderful! We'll have to figure out an evening that will work for all of us, then. Now, I must be on my way, but it was lovely meeting you! And Mr. De Larousse, I'll see you around," she said. Bastian and Mrs. Callahan leaned in and exchanged cheek kisses before she sauntered off on her way, and Bastian looked down at Vlora. "What a nice coincidence," he said to her before he started walking again.

Spencer waited while Hazel cleaned up her cut, smiling a bit when she got back and said she should have told her father where she was going. "Well, next time make sure you tell him so we don't get in trouble," he laughed as they continued walking along. When she pointed to a tree, he blinked, a grin spreading across his lips. "It's perfect!" he said excitedly.

Isla smiled at the guy as they passed before looking up at Rhyan and shook her head, "I am telling you. He is an elf version of Victoria. He just wants a Rhyan. I can kick his shins and you can run." She laughed softly as they walked to the daycare. She blushed a bit when he said she deserved to find a nice guy. He didn't really even know her. "Thanks..." She said and played with her hands. "Uhm... so... I have been deciding if I should tell you because you are so happy with Victoria." She said softly and looked away. Isla told him about the skirt and neck thing and hoped he wouldn't get mad at her.

Vlora giggled a bit, "Yes, Ma'am. I will let my brother know, thank you." She said before saying a goodbye and walking with her man. "She was lovely. I am goig to have to meet this Spencer before that actual dinner though." She laughed a bit. "Mmm so am I going to be able to see your work face today since you are going to look over a case? I can keep reading. I am very interest and I need to know what the hell is going to happen to this man." She said and kissed his shoulder.

Hazel smiled, "Oh good... and look how close to the water... we could so jump from that branch into the water." She said and pointed to it before going up to the tree and climbing it. She scooted over towards the end of the branch and looked back before giggling. "You think it is deep enough?" She asked.

Rhyanid laughed a little when she insisted that the man was an elf version of Victoria. "Well, then, maybe you are gonna have to walk me back to the shop after we pick up James," he joked with a laugh, walking along with her. When she said she had something she'd been debating telling him and then she explained what had happened with Victoria, his dark violet eyes widened and his mouth fell open slightly. For a minute or so he was silent, obviously processing what she had told him and putting together things Victoria had said. Finally, he gave a nod. "Thank for telling me, Isla. I'll...deal with it," he said softly.

Bastian walked along with Vlora, looking down at her when she commented that she'd have to meet Spencer before the dinner. "That likely would be a wise idea," he said. When she asked if she was going to be able to see his work face, he smiled a bit, nodding. "Well, yes, I suppose you will be seeing my work face as I'll be looking over some work files," he said. When she said she wanted to read more of her book and then kissed his shoulder, he leaned down and softly kissed the top of her head. "Well, then, let's get to the office so you can dive back into this book of yours," he said.

Spencer smiled when Hazel suggested jumping from the one branch into the water. "Maybe your dad could make a little walkway on the branch so we could walk out on it and - oh," he said when she climbed into the tree. He blinked, watching her. He didn't know how to climb trees. Kyle sometimes put him in the trees or helped him, but he couldn't do it on his own, so he stayed on the ground and watched her. When she asked if the water was deep enough, he walked over to the edge of the water and looked in. "I think so, yeah, but we'll probably have to go in to figure out for sure," he said.

Isla didn't like the silence after she told him and she had inched away from him right before he started talking again. She nodded and walked with him to the bridge. The daycare wasn't far from there and in no time they were at the door. She knocked and Ivie peeked up and smiled, "Hey!" She said and then looked up, "Oh, you are a tall one. Hello! I am Ivie. Let me go get James." She said and let him in. Once they walked in and Bo saw Rhyan she melted before getting up and running/wobbling over to him and hugged his leg. Isla laughed, "Oh someone likes you." She said. Ivie came back a moment later with James and his bag. "Oh look at you! Did you have fun today, my sweet baby?" She asked him and he giggled before reaching out to her. She grabbed him and hugged him close to her before taking the bag. Ivie smiled, "He was good today. Ate all of his food and played well." She said softly before sighing and looking at Bo. "Bo, what did we say about hugging strangers?" She asked and Bo yelled before hiding behind Rhyan's leg.

Vlora laughed a bit, "Good, I like your work face a lot. Very handsome." She said softly and walked with him to the office. She liked being like this with him. She wasn't much for dating, they never seemed to work out, but things were looking hopeful so far. "Oh, will you come to the dinner with us?" She asked. "I would love for you to come. I am not... a dinner to meet the parents' type. Literally never done a thing like that and the last dinner was a mess." She laughed.

Hazel looked back when he said oh and blinked, "Hmm... let's find out." She said and kicked off her sandals and walked back to the trunk of the tree and slipped out of her shirt and shorts before going back over to the end of the branch and hung from it. Hazel wiggled her toes before dropping. She disappeared under the water before resurfacing a moment later. "Yup! It is deep enough!" She giggled..

Rhyanid walked mostly in silence with Isla the rest of the way to the daycare. He had expected to wait outside for her to get her son but instead they were both invited in, so he went with her. When the little baby came running up and hugged his leg, he blinked slightly, looking down at it. "Adorable," he said, wondering whether the baby would let go any time soon. It didn't seem to want to, though, and stayed there while the girl, Ivie, brought back James. When the girl told the baby off for hugging strangers and it hid behind his leg, he blinked. "As cute as this is, you might wanna grab the kid...Ivie, you said was your name? I probably shouldn't be picking up random peoples' babies," he said with a chuckle, figuring it best not to just pick the kid up and hand it back over to the daycare girl. He didn't mind, but obviously there was an issue with the kid hugging strangers and he didn't want to encourage that kind of behaviour. Babies, he was fairly certain, were a lot like puppies.

Bastian walked with her to the office, looking back down at her when she asked if he would come to the dinner with her. "Of course. Perhaps we can use it as an opportunity for me to meet this brother of yours," he suggested. He stopped once they were at the door to his office, pulling out a keyring and unlocking the door. He opened it up and held it for her. Inside was all dark, since nobody was in. "Ladies first," he said.

Spencer blinked when Hazel stripped down to her underwear and then dropped down into the water. He grinned a bit, taking off his bag and setting it at the base of the tree before tugging his t-shirt off and running down to the water. He figured he'd be fine swimming in his shorts, and he splashed into the water with a laugh. "The water's real nice, too!" he said, turning around to look back up at the tree. "We could put a swing on that branch there," he said, pointing.

Ivie blinked at the man, "Yes... I am Ivie..." She said and went grab Bo. "Bo here just loves everyone. Sorry for that. She just wanted to let you know you are loved." She said. Bo look like she was about to cry and Autumn, a pink hair girl, came and got her before walking out. "I can tell you haven't really been around kids before." She said and Isla shook her head. "Okay, time to go. Ivie, you said the payment is due next week?" She asked softly and Ivie smiled. "Yes, ma'am." She said softly. The girls said goodbye and walked out with Rhyan before making her way towards home. "You... really haven't been around a lot of kids." She said and loved on James. "That was the owner of the daycare, by the way." She said with a smile.

Vlora was more than happy to hear he would come, "Oh yes... my brother hasn't met you yet." She said and blinked. "This ladies first into dark places shouldn't be a thing. Luckily I know how to fight if someone comes out and attacks me." She smirked and walked in. "So gentlemen like to get the girl killed so the man can run." She teased.

Hazel bobbed in the water and looked at him as he got ready to swim too. She looked where he pointed and laughed, "Oh yeah! This is going to be the coolest place and we could totally hide from the adults since we are a good bit away." She said and disappeared under the water, only to pop back up a bit further away.

Rhyanid waited while the pink-haired girl came and removed the baby, blinking when she commented that he hadn't been around kids before. He waited while Ivie and Isla discussed payment, and once they left and Isla commented that he hadn't really been around a lot of kids, he raised an eyebrow. "Or I'd just rather not walk into a daycare and start messing with random peoples' kids," he said. "That kind of thing is generally frowned upon," he chuckled.

Bastian nodded when she said that her brother hadn't met him yet, blinking at her comment about how he was just trying to get her killed. "It's only my office, cherie. Nobody is going to come out and attack you in here. Besides, you make an excellent point that you are more than capable of self-defense should the need arise - not that it will, of course, because as I said...it's just my office," he chuckled, closing and locking the door behind them before heading for his own office. With another key on the same keyring, he unlocked the tower door, opening it and holding it for her.

Spencer grinned when she said what a cool place this would be, watching her bob down under the water and pop up further away. "I mean, kinda. The adults will still know where it is, since we need your dad to help move the clubhouse here and stuff," he pointed out, swimming out towards her a bit.

Isla nodded, "well yeah..." She said and kissed attacked her baby who screamed in delight before resting his head on her shoulder and staring up at Rhyan. He still didn't know what to make of the man and just blinked at him. Isla needed something from the bag and handed him over to Rhyan, "Can you hold him for a second? I need to get something out of his bag." She said softly.

Vlora huffed, "if you piss off the wrong person and someone wanted to get in they very well could. What if I wasn't all rough and tough? Would you just run away like a scared boy?" She smirked and followed him up to his tower before going in and looking around. It was still lit up a good bit. Vora walked to the window and looked out. She liked the view from here.

Hazel turned around when he started to talk and glared playfully at him, "Well duh, Spence. Of course they would know, but for the most part they will leave is alone." She said and smiled. "You sure you can swim in this deep part? I mean I can totally save you if you start to drown." She teased.

Rhyanid smiled as he watched Isla play with her son. It was adorable, and he gave a little wave when James looked up at him. When she handed the baby to Rhyanid, he blinked in surprise but nodded, taking the little guy gently into his arms. "Hey there, little dude," he said gently, holding on to the baby. James was pretty damn cute, he had to admit. He lifted a hand and tousled his little head of blond hair, smiling. "You sure are a cute one, aren't you? Your mother did a good job on you, oh, yes she did," he said.

Bastian frowned a bit as he heard her words. He didn't say anything in response, instead walking in silence up to the tower room with her. He turned on the lamp once they were there and went to his filing cabinet, unlocking it and beginning to rifle through the folders. He pulled out two of them and dropped them on the surface of the desk. The first was labeled CALLAHAN, KYLE ZACHARY, while the second was labeled DELAROUSSE, THIBAUT LAURENT [MURDER OF]. He kept searching a moment longer before closing the drawer. "It doesn't seem to be here. I'm going to go check Manny's office. If I don't have it, he probably does. Feel free to wait here for me. I should be only a moment," he said, leaning over and kissing her cheek before heading down the stairs to check his colleague's office, leaving the two file folders resting on top of the desk.

Spencer laughed a little at her glare, shrugging. "I mean, if they wanna find us, they're gonna find us," he told her. When she questioned him about being able to swim in the deeper water, he blinked. "Of course I can swim in the deeper water!" he said, and then swam underneath as if to prove it, swimming over towards her and bobbing back up to the surface right near her. "I love swimming," he said.

Isla thanked him and dug through James' diaper bag and found the small hat to protect his little head from the sun. She looked up and watched Rhyan interact with her kid, smiling a bit. James blinked at Rhyan before watching his hand go and tossel his hair. He blinked once again, looked at his mother, back at the man, and giggled before playing with a braid. She realized she let him hold her son and she tensed a bit but talked herself down by telling herself that Rhyan had helped her from possibly getting stalked and was trying to control his girlfriend. Isla gently tugged on the giant's shirt a bit. "Can you hold him down a bit so I can put his little hat on please and then you two can go back to bonding." She smiled.

Vlora looked back when she heard the dropping of files on a desk. She turned around and smiled a bit when he kissed her cheek, nodding to his statement of going look somewhere else. Once he was gone she looked over at the files. She saw Kyles and then one with Bastian's last name. Her eyes darted to the door and waited a second before looking over Kyle's a bit. There was a lot of he said/she said as Bastian told her, but what the girl said was very disturbing nonetheless. Then she went over to the one guy with Bastian's last name. Her eyes darted quickly and she was in shock that the man was his father and his father was murdered. She closed the file and placed them back like they were before going back to look out the window. Her heart broke for Bastian.

Hazel smirked, "Uh huuuhh." She teased before watching him disappear underneath the water and come back up near her. She giggled, "Well then," She giggled. "I am glad to see you can swim with the bigger fishies." She said and looked around before looking back at him. "You wanna see a trick?" She asked with a smirk.
